Great Value!

By Luceida D |

Great Selection and Value for 9.98 (lunch), I would say that is a more than decent price, the ambiance is good, looks like an indoor garden, service is excellent, plates cleared quickly. There's fresh soups made on request, great selection on asian foods, it varies from lunch to dinner and weekends. I specially recommend the sushi bar, for this price it is excellent!

asian mostly

By SindanganBossy |

The offerings were mostly asian. Not bad though. Sushi was really goid. I must agree, crab lkegs dont get refilled as it should be. The place needs refurbishnent though. The interior design is not so nice. It is poorly maintained. Maybe because the staff are busy??? If you don't mind eating in a drab environment, just focus on the food.

Large assortment of Asian food items

By EscoDave |

Visited at lunch....best time during the week as it is $9.95 for lunch. Good assortment of sushi - which I was looking for - and other hot and cold dishes, soups and salads. And there were a number of items for dessert. Good service...good food for the value.

I have been to Natsumi before, and other expierences were not bad. but Leng in the past and now present is the Worst

By mark r |

the buffet was ok, at best.. most of the food was empty, and they did not fill once empty.. most of the food was dry to say the least... i myself will never be back to this buffet, one waitress in particular named LENG has the most snobish upright attitiude and does not know how to treat people... honestly she should be fired... i was with a friend and Leng treated her Bad as well.. All I can say is never again...

Holiday gathering with coworkers

By Mylene B |

This was a wonderful surprise. We wanted to switch things up this year and have our annual White Elephant gathering at a nearby buffet. Natsumi was the only place available for a reservation. For a buffet, it was super. The sushi selection was fantastic! The staff was accommodating with our needs and requests. Taking the family here soon.

decent food for a buffet place

By Helena9504 |

I have been to this place many times with friends and families over the past couple of years. They offer good selections of dishes, most of them are decent. Their sushi selections are pretty good as well. There is really nothing to complain to enjoy the variety of foods with less than $10 during lunch. They also make noodles and Mongolian stir fry dishes fresh upon request. Desert and fresh fruits are always the favorite for kids. Compared with other buffet place, this is a good place to have a quick meal.

LARGE SELECTION OF FOOD ITEMS

By SoCalOregonian |

We stopped here for the lunch buffet on Sunday 08/05. Price of buffet was $20.95/person, but they also offer a 10% senior and military discount. The party we were with had reservations for 34 and we were seated promptly at 1200. Drink service was very good, never an empty glass, nor a used plate. The selection at the buffet was very large and all foods I ate were quite tasty. Couple of downside items, the floor in the entrance area inside was dirty and there were a few flies flitting around the buffet area.

Good ambience, good spread but mediocre flavor

By SouravBanerjee |

It was a good spread especially since it was Sunday lunch. The decor and ambience was nice, good service. Having said that the food taste was mediocre. Some were good, some ok and some were just plain ordinary. Quality was okay. I will come back here if there is a 2 for 1 deal or something similar.

Many truly awful things

By happycamper690 |

It all started out well. Friendly host and a comfortable booth. But, holy cow, except for the sushi which was actually very, very good, the general run of the food was bad to awful. The chicken on a stick was burned beyond recognition, the orange chicken was overly sweet without any burn, the fish dishes looked old and were flavorless, the kimchi was NOT fermented and actually tasted sweet, not hot. Proper kimchi takes weeks to make; this stuff was all wrong. The pineapple slices were salty, of all things, and no one could eat a slice. Worst of all, the vanilla ice cream was definitely RANCID (the chocolate was fine). Good first impressions, but terrible follow through.

More power to your Good Service. I love your fried Sushi and gyoza also your orange chicken. May God bless youโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

I love the selection of foods and hopefully I can bring my family in your place because you have great selection of food.๐Ÿ‘

Good value and yummy food

By Happyincb |

For a buffet, this place is very yummy. Itโ€™s very affordable during the week, weโ€™ve not gone on the weekends. The sushi is good and several hot items are good as well.

Amazing spot

By Miss J |

Had lunch for a family function. We had about 40 people with us. The waiters were so friendly and very attentive. The food was absolutely delish! The sushi was fresh and well presented! Next time I'm in San Diego, I will definitely go back !!

More than you would expect from a buffett

By Dale H |

More choices than the average buffet. Great seafood choices, shrimp, crab legs, Mongolian too! Price is good value.

Not bad, good variety

By iluv2eatntravel |

While not a fan of โ€˜all you can eatโ€™ Chinese/Japanese buffet, I must say the food here was not bad and better than similar rivals buffets. The spread was pretty good with a good variety of cooked food, sushi, desserts, and even a made to order teppanyaki. This restaurants have changed hands a couple times and the latest management has done a good job. The service was good here and the restaurant was clean.

Good seafood buffet

By Tony Y |

Went to this buffet on Wednesday. Business was pretty. There were good selection of sushi. The raw oyster was fresh, crab legs did not have a lot of taste. They stopped refilling oyster and crab legas around 7:45. The hot food section was pretty good and lot of choices. Service was good. For about $27, not a bad deal.

1st impression

By butterfly101999 |

A friend recommended this buffet, claimed to be her favorite. My husband, 2 friends and I went to Savory Buffet on Martin Luther Day 1-20-14 lunch. It was all our 1st time. Appearance: It was modern, clean and organized. Loved the ambiance. Food: Great variety (Seafood, Chinese, Japanese, American, Vietnamese), beautiful presentation. Loved the Asian soup bar (beef pho/udon, seafood pho/udon and more). They had oysters, clams, mussels, shrimp, fish, etc. Buffets are a challenge, because your eyes are bigger than your stomach. Most of the time, you overeat. Extra: They had a private room for larger parties. Service: We had great servers, picked up our empty plates, refilled our drinks, courteous. Price: Amazing price! Weekday lunch was $9.98 (adults). Extra cost for drinks. Most buffet restaurants charge for drinks, it wasn't a big deal. Don't forget your 10% military discount (if applicable). Would I recommend Savory Buffet? Most definitely. One of my favorite buffets in San Diego =)

Not the best of the all-you-can-eat buffets in San Diego

By maringfro |

We went to this buffet for lunch because it suited as geographically. Savory Buffet is nicely decorated with fake trees with colorful fall leaves on them and Chinese artifacts. However, the food selection had some problems in my opinion. There wasn't a great assortment of sushi to choose from. The shui mai, which I love, were overcooked. The women's bathroom was disgusting so I assume no one had checked it for awhile. There weren't enough vegetables separate from meat dishes. On the positive side they had tempura (but I didn't see the sauce for it) which I'd never seen before in these kinds of buffets (although it was almost gone and wasn't refilled and had been sitting there awhile). The grilled chicken was good. We have been to several other buffets in the San Diego area which are better.

Disappointing

By ScruffRN |

Didnt keep crab legs stocked on buffet. Bathroom was dirty. Food was marginal at best. WAY to expensive for the poor quality. Will not return.

Come hungry ๐Ÿ˜‹

By Mary Rose H |

Unbelievably good Sushi for a buffet. Everything fresh and delicious. Soooo many entrees to choose from! Lots of selections from soups to desserts. Will definitely be back!!

Worlds bestest and largest buffet!

By skeggypeggy |

I love this place sooooo much! Every time Iโ€™m over in the US we hit the food here itโ€™s so cool they have the best selection ever and you can eat so much and itโ€™s so vibrant but very good prices. You must go to this place I recommend it 100% you will think itโ€™s fantastic too, go go go

Great value and plenty of crab legs and sashimi

By cliu |

I am reporting here on NATZUMI seafood and sushi buffet on Miramar Road. With a $2 coupon printed from the site our dinner was $15.95 each. There were ample crab legs, fresh oysters on the half shell, prawns cold and baked and fried. There were lots of cooked clams and mussels along with a vast array of sushi and sashimi. Their hot foods were quite good as well and our server was excellent in removing our plates every time we finished. The dessert selection was varied as well with ice cream, little cakes, tiramisu, puddings, fresh fruit, and a marshmallow chocolate fountain. My husband is a sushi seafood buffet junkie and said that for $16 a person, it was very good value for what they had and itโ€™s quality. I concur. Of course itโ€™s not haute cuisine dining but you are also not paying that type of prices. I would recommend trying it out if you like sushi and seafood.

Great selection of food

By walt66 |

This place was quite clean, had several aisles of hot food, desserts and even a soup and sushi counter. The food was very tasty and service was great, reasonably priced for lunch at $11 per person.

Never coming back, cos nearby Seaside Buffet is a such better deal and selection for the price.

I ate here for the first time on their last day of their Grand Opening where they give 20% off. I ate alone and was given a very small table, which is big enough only for one (cos with napkin holder and soy sauce, there wouldn't be enough table space for a second person), even tho when I arrived at 4:30, the entire restaurant was really empty. There was one other table for single person against a partition that she wanted me to sit at, but I said it was too dark there, I wanted to read. So she moved a table section away from others, for me. Other reviews are right. The food spread here is smaller than Savory's was. This is partially because what was an entire row of buffet food at Savory, is now occupied by a long sushi making area, where two men stand making the sushi. I can see the point another reviewer made that most of the sushi is same California roll decorated in different ways. I first attacked the snow crab, my favorite food in a Asian buffet. Their snow crab was really good, better than other buffets that have hot crab, because it was not cooked and soaked in hot water, that leeches the crab flavor out. However it was COLD crab with not so warm margarine. My ingenuity found a way to heat up my crab quite hot, but that is my secret. I give it 2 stars for not having hot snow crab or a way like some LV buffets do, you can ask them to dip in boiling water. You know the weekend dinner price is $3 more than weekday dinner, and for what? Only 2 extra things: 1. sea snails 2. scallops. That is all you get for your $3. However the scallops were really good, 1 bay scallop with a small piece of shrimp, in a nest of mung bean clear noodles, all place on the scallop shell. The sea snails were not good enough to eat one again, not much flavor and definitely from frozen. Korean ribs were ick, meat kinda stinky and would not come off the bone very well. Duck not that great either. Spicy salt fried blue crab bodies were really tiny, the smallest I have seen. Seaside's was about 4 x as large!!! I think the best thing at Natsumi is the creme brulee, however there is no sugar crust on it, but it is good cos it tasted rich, like it was made with evaporated milk. I ate three of those, woulda had more (they are small aluminum tins filled only to 1/2" full or only 1/4 of the way to the top), but a staff person came to my table and asked me "how I was". Well then she told me I had to leave because I was eating there for THREE hours, and I was only allowed to sit there for 2 hours. She said all the buffets are the same, and mentioned Seaside had the same rules. She said she already let me sit there an extra hour, but I arrived at 4:30 and now it was 7:30. I said I didn't see anything to that effect but she said there was a sign at the entrance. I told her I have been to Seaside about 15 times in the last 1.5 years and they have never asked me to leave, even when I sat there for 4-5 hours in a booth for 4, not a single table for one. (I was there just at Seaside 2 nights ago and stayed there till 9:30, 30 min after they closed.) But I do go only on weeknights and stay till after closing. I asked if I had sat at that other single table that no one had occupied all night, if she would be asking me to leave. She said "if I wanted to stay longer, I have to pay for another dinner, then I could stay another 2 hours". Wow, never had a restaurant tell me that, before. I eat at Chinese buffets all the time! I call myself Buffet Queen. Even without being asked to leave, I prefer Seaside Buffet. Except for the crab here, food at Natsumi is not better or worse than Seaside, which has a much larger spread and far more dishes and variety. Crab flavor is better here, but downgraded for not having hot crab. I agree with another reviewer, I don't think the spread is worth the price, when I could get a far larger spread at Seaside, and be given the time I need to eat it without being asked to leave at three hours (I am the world's slowest eater, especially cracking crag legs). I also like Seaside Buffet better because the lighting is brighter. Brighter means more cheerful atmosphere. Maybe Natsumi spent a lotta $ on new decor, but it DOES remind me of Dennys. Before coming here, I was gonna post eating here to an Asian Foodie MeetUp and host a group, but now I don't think so, cos I don't wanna come back myself. I eat really slow, especially crab cracking takes a long time. I cannot eat my money's worth in just 2 hours.

It's a great buffet, good food and polite staff

By Rostam K |

This is my first time to this buffet. I found it on TripAdvisor and also compared it with Yelp reviews as well. Some were not happy but most people gave it a good review so we wanted give it a try as well and I have to say it's definitely worth it to try. The variety and quality of food was really good for $10. The staff were polite and nice. It's not a classy buffet but a very good one for the price that you pay.

As a regular fan of Asian buffets, I was truly impressed by first Natsumi experience 6-10-19

By Iowa/CA girl |

This buffet, in a building that has housed some excellent restaurants over the past 25 years, was extremely pleasing in both looks and especially food. There was a wide display of fresh sushi, nigiri, and poke when we dined there June 10th mid-afternoon. There was also a chef to do fresh grilling of protein, vegetables and noodles; I went back for seconds, it was so good. And much more such as cream cheese wontons; fish, chicken and beef entrees; soups; fresh fruit and DESSERTS - I only got to one marshmallow dipped in the chocolate fountain and a sweet sugared bun - there was so much more. The price for the lunch buffet was SO LOW!

Good selection of food choices

By MYMinneapolis123 |

Our travel group stopped here for dinner. They had a variety of food choices to choose from. However they didn't refill their food as often as they should. They offered sashimi at their sushi counter. They also served a variety of noodle soup choices to choose from. Con: I saw flies flying over some of their food.

One of several Asian style buffets in the area, good value for the money

By Alex Lee |

This place used to be called Crazy Buffet, just like East Buffet (nowadays called Super Buffet), similar buffet opened by Chinese and offers Chinese, Japanese and American style food items. Nothing outstanding, but nothing bad. All in all, good value for the money.

Lunch

By Keith M |

Sushi buffets are the current Trend in San Diego. The food here was well laid out and you could see what was available and it seem to be getting replenished quite often. The Chinese food section of the buffet wasn't too large which was great neither was the Korean ribs or fried chicken. The restaurant is lacking artwork but it's kind of sterile modern design works well. I would predict Monday through Friday this place is a zoo because it's located in am an industrial area for office workers. Weekends plenty of parking however it cost about 2 to $3 more per meal period on Sunday it was $20.95 for adults, our group of six was treated well and we had a very attentive server. there is outside seating which in the spring or the fall will probably be a pleasant experience

Good quality buffet

By NewlyTina |

This buffet restaurant offers quite a variety of food choices e.g. for seafood lovers, vegetarian, red meat lovers, including sushi, pasta, and a different types of salad. Seafood was very tasty and fresh. I enjoyed very much the plates made of salmon, Alaskan crab, and white fish. I recommend this place for a fast inexpensive and healthy food.

Nice Buffet

By Craig W |

Know where you are eating, at a buffet. I found plenty of items to my liking. Surprisingly, the sushi was not bad. Especially the salmon nigiri. Not always the case at all you can eat. As was the case with the crawfish (in SD?), both cold and warm, not bad. Crab legs were good. They have a fresh noodle bar which is a nice twist. All food I chose to eat was good, more than enough to eat. Staff was polite and attentive. All in all not bad.

bland food , no a great place to eat

By konstantine k |

i had good expectations about this buffet but i was for a dissapoinment , low quality food , the sushi was cut like paper thick , the service was bad , no a great place to spent you money

Itโ€™s a good place to take the family out for lunch. Nice variety of sushi, very fresh and made right in front of you. I recommend.
