We had a great time at Neighborhood. Our waiter Kyle was great and suggested great beer choices. Food arrived quickly and everything was really great especially for the price we paid. A real gem.

My family and I visited from San Antonio, Texas. We were looking for a local spot to have dinner. Neighborhood was welcoming and the environment felt like we were in our hometown. The burgers were out of this world!!!! A must try if in the San Deigo area!!!

We loved the quirky food choices - pimento spread and Ritz crackers! The tacos were amazing, as was the grilled cheese and tomato bisque! Fun atmosphere, good staff. My only complaint is they don't carry any vodka! I get it specializes in beer and whiskey, bit come on, carry at least one vodka!!

I really love this spot - there's always an excellent selection of beer, wine and spirits to choose from. Their staff is fun, and the space is hip, vibrant, and comfortable. I love the half inside-outside table. Beer prices are fair, everything we had was fresh tasting and enjoyable. Been with co-workers and my wife, I'll come back again over and over again.

Was walking around looking for a bar/restaurant to eat and watch a game. Stumbled on Barleymash. It’s a big place with tv’s all over and good music playing. A large selection of tap beers and bottle beers. Good food and excellent service. Well worth a visit if you’re in San Diego.

Long story short: Laid-back service, excellent food, perfect selections of beers. Went here after a conference with some colleagues. Ate a fantastic Burger accompanied by a very decent 8% beer. A colleague had the Taco's and he looked like a happy camper as well. Make the effort and walk up here if you're strolling along 5th looking for a place to eat.

For whatever reason, I found myself craving grilled cheese today. This place was on the Eater list for best grilled cheese in San Diego. Funky setting, added avocado to the sandwich and loved it.

I love the burgers here. They don't have mayo or mustard because their sauces are so good. The menu is small but it doesn't matter cause anything you choose is great. Beer selection is tops. Fun to eat here than go to the padres game. Not many tables but worth thee wait.

We were attending an event downtown and decided to dine here beforehand. This place has a lot of "personality", fun with a lot of younger people. Many beers, specialty drinks and creative menu. We had the fruit salad with candied pecans and blue cheese, delicious. Then ordered the Cajun Burger with their homemade potato chips. The beef was delicious, not the usual hamburger taste. Our server, Matthew, was very helpful with suggestions. Great personality too! We want to return to try more items on the menu. The biggest challenge is parking, a lot nearby charges $12 but we finally found a metered space.

We were looking for a restaurant away from the hustle of gas lamp. The menu had plenty to offer. They have a decent mix of micro brewery beers. One of the more talked about items was the man n cheese. We got ours with jalapeños but we were not impressed. The fried pickles were pretty good. Prices were reasonable for gas lamp.

Good food, reasonably priced, great ambience. Tried liked their chicken wings with blue cheese dip and curry cauliflower.

amazing beer selection, fun crowd! we went here one night and loved it! The thai beer is the best!!! cant wait to come back !

Excellent food! Never seen onion rings like this before--HUGE. Everything we ordered was excellent--tacos, grilled cheese, burger and more. Very good spot for lunch. Service was a little bit slow, but overall a fun and delicious dining experience.

Maybe I'm a little biased because we happened across Neighborhood just as Pliny the Younger was being tapped, an annual ritual...there was excitement in the air and a cheer went up from the locals who had been waiting when the first beers were poured. The staff made sure everyone who was there for the event didn't have to wait long to taste the rare draft. Kudos to them. We had the curry cauliflower head and the burger (both delicious), which came with a choice of fries. We chose sweet potato. They came with blue cheese, a combination I hadn't had before, but it worked. Neighborhood has lots of beers on tap. If you are a beer fan, this place, which is slightly off the beaten track, is worth finding.

We checked out local reviews and asked our concierge the hotel what they recommended and all seem to like "Neighborhood", a local brewery & grill on downtown San Diego. A wide selection of beers on tap to go with some reasonably priced burgers, tacos and salads. You won't go wrong with this place for lunch or dinner.

This was truly the best burger I have had to date. The patty was unbelievably moist/tender, incredibly flavorful, and perfectly put together. This is locally-sourced beef that is fresh-never-frozen, and appeared to be hand-pattied(not certain though). The beer selection wasn't good for me, because I like normal, branded beers. Neighborhood only offers fancy, craft beers. There is nothing wrong with that, as many people prefer these beers. I just wish they had some "common" offerings for us boring beer drinkers, haha. The service here is just alright. I say that because one server we had was somewhat snooty and acted annoyed that we weren't "regulars" who knew how everything worked around there. On the other hand, we had another server who was pretty cool, although even he seemed a little snooty. Bottom line is if you are going to work in a restaurant in a tourist area as a server, you should expect "stupid tourists" and not treat them with contempt. Overall, the place gets 4 stars for the burger alone. I took nothing off my rating for the poor beer selection and better service, this place is 5-stars all day long.

Not sure why they make you write your name on the board when they are slow and have open seats. They made us write our name and immediately wiped it off and let us sit, that is stupid to me. The beer list was good and I did like that all SD beers where buy one get one free during happy hour. That was pretty much the only good thing. The service was super slow and as I said they were not busy. I had the grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was blah. The sandwich was ok, noting special that couldn't be made at home. The soup was really bad, it was pretty much water.

Went here based on quite a few great reviews. Was by myself and seated right away on a Wednesday night and the place was packed. Went down hill from there. Service was slow and did not get any better. Had the meatball pita and it was just ok and somewhat cold. Sweet potato fries were good but did not make up for the overall experience. While the first beer I ordered was out, the replacement was good. Menus fell apart when they were handed to me and silverware was gone from the community glass holder in the table. Doubt I will return with so many other great places to eat in San Diego.

Real friendly joint. Killer beer selection and awesome food. Burgers and everything I ate was delicous.

I recently dined here and it was fantastic! The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, with attentive service that made us feel welcome. The menu was impressive — we started with the brussels sprouts which was fresh and flavorful, followed by the chicken sandwich, which was perfectly cooked and delicious. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service were top-notch. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a great dining experience!

really great selection of beer and the service was good. we stopped in looking for Noble Experiment and had a few beers prior to going in. the staff was great.

So many great beer options to choose from! We had a great time trying out different IPAs! The Randall Knife was amazing! And to top it off, we had their delicious Goat cheese balls as an appetizer. Will definitely go back.

Let me start by saying we were definitely the elder statesmen in the pub. A young crowd having a great time on a Friday evening. We were sent here for the burgers and they did not disappoint. They are served with homemade chips which are quite spicy and there is no catsup to be found (hooray). Large variety of beer on tap - also wine and special cocktails are on tap. If you want to try the secret speakeasy (Noble Experiment), get in line at 6:45 or make a reservation well in advance. They seem right up front with the craft cocktail craze. Service was quick and very friendly.

Met some San Diego friends for lunch on a recent trip to San Diego. This is a local place with a great beer selection in a city with great beer. Stop in and have lunch. You won't be disappointed.

We drove into San Diego and parked opposite this little corner bar - went in for a quick drink and to use the restroom. Found free wifi. The manager (owner?) went out of his way to help us select a hotel, so we returned for cocktails the next day...and once again he gave us advice - dont eat in gas lamp area, go back to Little Italy and eat at Bracero (gourmet Mexican) - which we thoroughly enjoyed!!! THANKS from your Aussie mates! Traveled as a (mature age Australian) couple to California in Oct 2016 primarily for Desert Trip concerts Indio;

Get the Neighborhood Burger! Really good! Also, get the Abita Root Beer it is good too! Casual trendy atmosphere.

Not pretentious like some other places in the Gaslamp District, I recommend getting a beer sampler if you like craft beer. The food was straightforward but high quality. I had mussels one night, a burger the other. Wife has a tomato bisque and grilled cheese (guyere) that she rave about. Inexpensive for that part of town.

Of course the food was amazing but on this particular night we went to have dinner there, comic con was in full swing and the restaurant was jam packed. The staff had a ton of things to do and considering all the work they all seem to be to be doing they were all pretty nice. We had a couple mixups with our bill a few times but in the end it got fixed, not that big of a deal and they gave us a discount for the trouble. It took a while to be seated but that was really no fault of the staff it was just very very busy. The one thing that made all the difference was the manager Talia coming up to our dinner table when we have finally sat down and talk to us for a little bit. This place really knows how to treat their customers even when it's extremely crazy and busy. So thanks again to Talia, she made our somewhat chaotic dinner experience much better by doing what we've always experienced at the neighborhood; Great people serving great food. Our only real complaint was that they didn't have their pecan bourbon shake any more.....I only joke

Hip. Gastro. Pub. Neighborhood is a good find with an eclectic menu. Carne asade tacos were great, and although the cauliflower was delicious, one was slightly under cooked. The warm apple was flavorful with curnchy granola exterior. Indoor/outdoor table was cool. Overall great vibe.

This is a very good option for a quick bite before a game. Beers are excellent with lot of varieties. The menu doesn't have many options but the burger and tuna sandwich are tasty.

Great service, excellent food and one of the best beers I've ever had... You should try the sweet potatoe fries.

Wandered in while needing to kill some time--what a great spot to wander to! The atmosphere is fun and clever. Though our drinks, some sort of moscow mule, were horrible, the spot was still fun.

Stayed for a week in San Diego in November and had dinner in Neighborhood twice. The food was fabulous!!!! I highly recommend the ribs which are taken off the bone and melted in your mouth. They are served with mac and cheese which you can choose to have hot or mild. They spice it up with jalapenos. Go for the extra hot! Also recommend the Pasilla Steak Frites which was sweet potato fries topped with cheese and steak. Perfect size for a female, a man may need to order a starter or some sides if choosing this as a main course. It was also delicious. Be prepared to wait as it is busy, you put your name down on a blackboard and take a drink at the bar while you are waiting. It is well worth the wait, you wont be disappointed!

I stopped in Neighborhood because I was in the neighborhood. (Sorry, couldn't pass up a bad joke.) I got there during happy hour and sat at the bar. I ordered a basic cheeseburger, with the fixings and sauce, and it was delicious. No wonder the place has high ratings. The service was good too. There's a huge selection of beer, and when you want to taste something on tap before you buy, they give you a pretty generous sample. The couple of beers I tried were really tasty. The place wasn't that crowded when I arrived, but it was crowded by the time I left. It's worthy of a visit when you're in the area.

Kasha took great care of our large party. She kept our drinks full and ensure our meals were served promptly. The hoodburger was excellent as were the fried pickles. The manager and kitchen staff were nice when I passed though to pay my compliments. Our bill needed some administrative attention and it was handled discreetly and promptly.

Stopped by Neighborhood before hitting Petco Park on a Wednesday night. It was full, but after putting our name on the chalkboard, we got a table for 4 within 10 minutes. The deviled egg apps were delish, and between a burger, yummy house salad and grilled cheese orders - we were super content. The boys enjoyed some great beer options, and we had a nice pours of wine. Servers were friendly, and so were the nearby patrons we chatted with. And, I must mention the cool interior. A jackelope on the wall? Come on, where else can you find that? We'd go back without question.

I walked by this pub several times before finally stopping in for beers. I can't speak to the food, but the beer list was extensive and included some great drafts, so my rating is based on solely on the beers. Very cool place.

Fantastic service, great atmosphere. Delicious truffle popcorn and the best beer of my life. Don't miss this awesome bar!

Went here on a Sunday night for dinner while in town for a conference. The inside was quite full but there was an open table out on the sidewalk so we sat there. not sure if it was because we were outside, but the service was painful outside. Took almost 20 minutes just to get a menu, then another 20+ just to get our beers after our order. But, when they came, they were wonderful. Beer selection can be overwhemling, so it's nice that they were willing to offer a sample before I ordered the most unique beer I've tried, the Ballast Point Indra Kunindra. Really interesting spiced beer. Couldn't drink more than 1, but I was glad I tried it. For food, I ordered a taco platter with fries that came out pretty quickly and was really good. It wasn't a ton of food, but was perfect for having with a few heavier beers. Overall this place left me wanting to come back, hoping that the service issues we experienced were a 1-off. This place was recommended by a couple different friends of mine as a great place to go, so I'd expect that's the case. Also, the server attempted to make things right by comping part of our meal for our inconvenience, without us asking for it, which was a nice gesture. If I'm back in San Diego, I would definitely try again.

Great relaxed atmosphere and wait staff. Service was prompt and the food was great. Onion rings, burgers and fries. Local beer was good too.

Discovered this place through internet searches (yelp and TripAdvisor) several years ago. I really enjoyed my first visit. What hits me is that the place is authentic. Food is creative and interesting. Beer and drink selection is very good. I finally made a return visit. I had the corn dogs and onion rings as a post-Padres meal. Normally I'd get a beer, but they didn't have any on tap that suit me. I prefer lagers/cream ales/kolschs. I'm not part of the quadrupled hopped IPA in-crowd. Great real place with real food and real drinks. This isn't an Applebee's.

As soon as our wheels touch down in San Diego, we make our way to Neighborhood. You'll find us on the patio with pints of local brew, an order of the jalapeño mac-n-cheese and the Hood burger. Hands down, some of the best mac we've had. And the burger is seasoned so well and cooked to perfection. As mentioned, we come here a lot and they consistently have great service and food.

We went here on the recommendation of a friend for lunch while in SD on vacation! This restaurant is a must visit! The food is wonderful (best meal we've had), the beer and whisky list is extensive and the wait staff is amazing! I wish we could have gone here for dinner and drinks instead of lunch! If I lived in SD, I think I would be here on a regular basis.

This place has a great atmosphere and the staff are very welcoming. We were on the first day of our tour and our family walking past, looked in, liked it and sat down to a Mac and cheese, Mussels, Fish and Chips and a Taco. There are all sorts of decorations on walls from Freud, to Kudu, Ostrich, Cityscape, etc. We all enjoyed our meal and thought it the highlight of our day's outing in San Diego. A great introduction to the USA.

We had a late night meal after a drink in the Noble Experiment. The ceviche was really delicious and plentiful. My porchetta sandwich was a bit greasy but my husband raved about the tomato bisque he had with a grilled cheese. There is an extensive beer menu and good drinks, but not a wine menu. The really nice part was that we were able to sit out on sidewalk and watch the evening wane while we enjoyed our meal.

Turned up at 8pm on a Wednesday evening and waited about 30 mins for a indoors table of 2 (I should point out that we were offered a table outside during this time but we declined as it was a little chilly!) If no one is on the door when you arrive add your name in chalk to the list of people waiting for a table - and listen carefully for your name to be called! We had some cider at the bar whilst we waited which we enjoyed. Once sat down we ordered the chicken nuggets which came with a variety of great sauces. I had the black bean burger - I ordered it without a bun so they encased it in lettuce which was a nice touch! The burger could have done with some spices as it was a tad bland, but I still enjoyed it. We finished with cookies and ice cream and coffees which was a perfect end to the meal. We had a great evening and felt the service was excellent throughout. Would love to come back next time we're in SD!

We came here on the advise of the pineapple hotel staff. It was walking distance from the hotel. Bistro pub kind of menu the food and service were great. There is no vodka in the house but the whiskey and beer selections are great.

I didn't go into the secret bar, but I can here for drinks in the main room. Man! That is a freaking hard menu to read with all those skwiggly lines and all. Prices are okay, but next time I'd love to try the place out including the secret bar.

The finest, most complete selection of whiskey I've ever seen. Really friendly service. Fantastic food. I was meeting a friend for lunch and asked to go to a place that tourists would never find. This was the place. I had a burger and he had the Ahi Tuna "burger." Both were outstanding. I highly recommend it.

What a great gastropub- we arrived at 6pm lastnight (9/1/13) and had dinner drinks- we did not have to wait and sat outside- which was great. Loved watching people walk around and loved the pet pig that was sitting outside of a shop next door. We had several beers and ordered the sweet potato fries, chicken nuggets and the burger. All were GREAT and loved all of the special dipping sauces. They have a huge selection of beer and we tried several that were terrific ! If you are wanting a relaxing place to sit and drink and eat - this a place that you have to visit !

I actually went to the Neighborhood twice for dinner during a week-long work trip in San Diego. It's fun place with a comfortable vibe. I especially liked the bar that extended through the window to outdoor sitting area. The Hood burger was excellent; the meatloaf was good, but nothing special.

I was looking for Pliny on tap and finally found it at the Neighborhood. I do not normally like fried pickles, but theirs were delicious. They had an excellent beer selection with about 30 taps. The bartenders were all very attentive and friendly, and Matt is a GREAT guy. Great spot in downtown San Diego that I would highly recommend if you are looking for a good tap selection.

the burgers were fantastic and there's even a secret speak-easy within the restaurant from the prohibition days if you know how to get in! ;-)

Best burger ever served with San Diego flight of four craft beers go find this place you won't be disappointed, just off main drag of gaslamp district.

Asked around while we were in San Diego as to where to get the best burger in town. Everyone recommend Neighborhood and we were not disappointed. We had the goat cheese balls as an appetizer and then my husband and I split the neighborhood burger and the spicy cajun rubbed burger. Both were delicious but I preferred the neighborhood burger. Also excellent beer selection. You cannot go wrong here!

Amazing craft beer selection. Had the beet burger and it was DELICIOUS. For the food an the beer - this place was tops. Couple complaints: Given how wonderful the beer selection was, this place was understandably very crowded. Trying to have a conversation was impossible. "Secret" bar in the back was very annoying. People constantly going in and out because that area was super crowded too. Thought they were better than the rest of us and would just push through to get to the 'special' area. Despite the crowd and rude patrons - the staff is super friendly, accomodating, and helpful. Would definitely go back, but would never go if I wanted to actually be able to talk to someone.

We had a group of 10. The service was spot-on and everyone raved about their food. Funny thing: they serve burgers and fries, but NO KETCHUP is the rule. You know what? We didn't miss it at all. Great seasonings and sauces took the experience to a whole new level.

Went to eat at the Neighborhood while in SD for one night and it took over an hour for us to be seated at a table. We were all tired and hungry but luckily Tracy the manager made up for it by having some complimentary warm appetizers ready for us when we finally were seated. Her service saved the day and the food was great! Smaller venue so when very busy it gets a little crowded, but the service and food made it better!

Great place...love the atmosphere and food/beer was fantastic. Service was good, but a little slow. Lots of people.

I ordered the chorizo corn dogs and they were pretty good. I also had the steak tacos and they were incredibly bland. You would think because San Diego is so close to Mexico the tacos would be amazing but no. I could think of a dozen places in little old CT (where I live) that have MUCH better steak tacos with a ton of flavor.

The burger...Go for the burger! The rest of the menu is fantastic has well. They also have a fantastic rotating beer selection. And they have a hidden craft cocktail spot called Noble Experiment, which if you like great cocktails, you have to check it out! A top foodie spot to try out in Downtown.

We visited the Neighborhood as a group of 6 on a Saturday night. We were happy to not have a wait, as they don't take reservations. The place is dark, very dark, so bring a flashlight! It's in a great location downtowm, very close the PETCO Park. The beer selection is excellent with a large selection of craft beers on tap as well as in bottles. The service was OK, our waitress tended to disappear for long stretches at times, but was nice when she was there. The food got mixed reviews. The beef ribs got high marks, as did the black bean burger. Their regular burger was just OK, although the sweet potato fries were very good. The Mac and Cheese was just average at best. I ordered the steak frites expecting, well, a steak and some fries. What I got instead was a pile of fries smothered by a combination of pasilla peppers, small pieces of steak, an assortment of cheeses and salsa. The first couple of bites were good, but it quickly got to be too much. I couldn't even finish it, which is a rare occurrence. It just wasn't good. If you are going to call it steak frites, maybe you should better explain what it is, because I would not have ordered it if I had known what it really was. One more complaint, they won't serve ketchup. Now look, I get it, the chef feels that other things better compliment the food than ketchup, and they are probably right, but try to explain that to my kids who loves ketchup. I understand that chefs want to try and curb old dining habits and get diners to experience the food the way the chef wants it to be experienced, etc. But c'mon guys, you're slinging out glorified bar food. I'm pretty sure I didn't see Thomas Keller in the kitchen? Please, stop taking yourselves so seriously and have a stinkin' bottle of ketchup somewhere in the restaurant for the "uncivilized" patrons.

This place is definitely for a younger 20's crowd. Looking over the menu, I knew I out of my comfort zone, the grilled cheese was recommended. Going to a restaurant and ordering a grilled cheese?!?!?! What am I, a 5 year old? But when in Diego do as the Diegans do. I noticed a lot of things on the menu were topped with a fried egg? Oh well, when in Diego...... So I found a fancy grilled cheese topped with a fried egg and went for it. With out a doubt, a top 25 decision in my life! The thing was unreal, and I didn't want to share it with the wifey, but I really wanted her to experience this out of this world grilled cheese. I don't remember what she ordered, I was so consumed by this grilled cheese with a fried egg on top. The beers here were not my things, had 2 of them and didn't care for either, but that Grilled Cheese with Fried Egg oooooohhhhhh!

Great food, good beer selection! Have to try the jalapeno mac and cheese. The onion rings are massive and crunchy!

Great place to go have unique drinks and an exclusive feel. SpeakEasy I'm the hidden area was really cool

The food choices and serving presentation are both fun. The place is worth a visit if you are in San Diego's east village.

Stopped in twice while staying in San Diego. We went for the beer and impressive tap list. We stayed for the atmosphere and incredible service. Came back the next night with a bigger crowd, it was really hard to get seated so we split up into a couple groups to make it work. It was a Saturday on a holiday weekend, it was to be expected. It took a while to finally get our food from the time we got there but the staff was always accommodating and had great personalities. The food was well worth the wait. Just, yes. This will be another spot on our must visit list for every time we're in the area.

Stopped here for a quick lunch on a weekday. Service was fast, food was yummy. The fork and knife veggie sandwich was as advertised, fresh asparagus, burrata on sourdough, not easy to eat but worth it. My colleague had the shrimp tacos, nice presentation and also very good. The lemonade was a treat, tart and fizzy. Reasonable prices. Loved sitting at a high bar overlooking the street.

Located close to Petco Field, this is a great spot for lunch or dinner. They have great burgers, fish and chips and veggie options (and I include fried pickles as a veggie option). Lots of good beer to choose from to accompany your meal.

My hotel front desk clerk recommended the restaurant the night I arrived from the east coast. “You’ll love it”, she said. And, I did. It was a Monday night, not a busy night for pubs. I ordered their tacos. “Great choice”, my waiter said. And, he was right. He was fun & friendly. I relaxed, ate my meal (it was delicious) and I paid....and, like an idiot, left my credit card behind. I was tired. The next morning, I realized I lost my card. What a disappointing start to my trip. I back tracked my steps and HOPED I left the card there and they still had it. I called, they had it in the safe! Kasha recognized me when I walked in and said she tried to catch me. There are still GOOD people in the world. Strangers who work hard and do the right thing. I tipped her a small amount...what I could afford. She is worth far more - honesty today is a rare find. Great vibe here, friendly staff, delicious food. It’s well worth a visit. Tip Kasha well - she’s a rock star in my book and saved my vacation!! It’s an unassuming gem in SD.

Not sure how this place got rated so well, because from our experience it was the worst food we had our whole trip. The black bean burger was mushy and bland. The tacos were also very bland and had no flavor. Maybe we just ordered the worst items, but I'm definitely not going back.

Went here because of good reviews but were disappointed. Burgers were ok...meat was good but barely any cheese or toppings and little flavor. Chips were cold and not good, fries had no flavor and were either soggy or crispy. Also they don't serve ketchup and just make a bunch of their own aioli and mayors which sounded cool but again turned out to have no flavor. Best thing was their jalapeno mac and cheese which we ordered "hot" but I would classify as medium spicy at the most. Service was good and outside seating was nice.

I liked it. The staff were excellent and the food was unique. Definitely prefer burgers in the classic sense but I wasn't disappointed. Probably wouldn't be a regular however. Try the Elote. It's the best $7 ear of corn I've ever had. Granted, that's the first time I've ever paid $7 for an ear of corn. Crazy expensive but so is everything else in San Diego.

Burgers were excellent. They make all of their own sauces. No ketchup! Reminds me of my Chicago hot dogs. (Although they have their own type they make in place of it). The outdoor seating is small but we got a spot and were very pleased. Service was good too.

I have been here three times over the past couple of years. I love this place for its interesting array of beer and its excellent, creative bar food. I had a great short rib dish and the burgers are good too. The service is very friendly and warm, and the clientele consists of people I'd like to hang out with. Overall, a fun, relaxed scene with good food and drink. I'd love to come back any time I am in SD!

This place has the set up and the reputation but it failed to deliver on almost all counts....First off, it claims it isn't a pretentious joint but the menu instructs you ketchup is not served with the food, there is no host etc etc and the crowd couldn't have been much more into themselves.....the beer and wine list chalked up on the window looked impressive but went out of date "about 6 years ago" according to our waitress and as we had to wait 15mins to get served at the bar, we were on the verge of thirsty......two items we asked for on the menu weren't available and once the food arrived it was decent, but all the fries were cold and had obviously been sat around for a while. The servers were friendly, but this is a place that values style over substance and is all the poorer for it....

Stopped here for lunch pre airport drop off. Had chicken salad and a burger. Both were good. Service was good perhaps a bit over the top. Too many visits to the table. Prices are a bit high for what you get.

The place is absolutely great! The atmosphere is so cool and just a fun place to enjoy and evening. The burgers are seriously delicious as well as the fries. If you can manage a reservation at the speakeasy located inside this establishment I highly recommend trying it. Very quaint and romantic place to kick back and relax and enjoy a delicious beverage! We loved it!

We stayed in San Diego for 3 days and went to the Neighborhood all 3 days! We ordered mussels, they were out, so the manager ran down the street to get us mussels! Greatest customer service moment ever! The burgers were the juiciest, tastiest burgers I have ever had! The craft beers were good and the open air seats were awesome. No ketchup so we were given a sample of their excellent sauces! I can't wait to go back!

This place is so cool. We went here last month and loved it. The drinks menu is extensive and there is plenty of seating. It's quite dimly lit but this just adds to the overall ambience. We went on a Saturday night and it was busy but we got a seat. The bar staff were great. They chatted to me whilst I ordered and seemed to really enjoy working there. I can see why. They were asking about our visit, and when they found out that we were on honeymoon, gave us that round on the house. Obviously don't expect this but I thought it was wonderful gesture. I have a friend visiting SD next month and I have told him he has to come here!

Corner window, friendly staff and great food. Pork belly melt, Steak sandwich, homemade chips and terrific beer choices. If We lived here we would repeat visit often.

Visited in late December. Decent food but the place was FREEZING cold. Close the windows and let people who want to be cold, sit outside. Staff good about food, but when asked to close the windows said they couldn't because of the people outside.

awesome and super fun staff, AMAZING food and drinks. eating here is an absolute must. everything on the menu is amazing and sooo affordable. you NEED to go here.

I asked a local couple where the best place close to my hotel for a beer and a burger. They said no doubt about it Neighborhood. After a short walk I found the greatest burger I had eaten in a long time, sweet fries with sBlue cheese (delicious) and a great local beer. If you are by Petco Stadium it is short walk away and so worth discovering.

I checked into the hostel downtown and this place was recommended to me by the front desk as their favorite "neighborhood" bar. The craft brews were all up on the blackboard and I asked the barkeep for suggestions as to what I might like. Some were on Happy Hour pricing and following a couple of samples I was able to get one of those I liked. To be any place downtown and get a beer first thing for less than $5 including the tip was good. I like getting good recommendations. Was only there for a beer so no comment can be made on the food. Overfall vibe felt good though.

Decided to visit Neighborhood for some beer and a little food. I actually went with my kids (27 and 21), so I was worried that I'd feel out of place in a "hip" place like this. Not so - this place is great for all adults. They have over 100 different beers. Lots of really interesting beer on tap, as well as bottled beer. The menu describes all of them in detail, so it's easy to try new things based on your tastes. Then there's the food. Absolutely excellent. My son had the Spicy Cajun Rubbed Burger with Sweet Potato Fries, my daughter (the vegetarian) had the black bean burger, and I had the Pasilla Steak Fries (Sweet Potato fries with carne asada beef, two types of cheese, and tomatillo salsa). We all sampled each others food and frankly - everything was delicious! The beer was great, and we all had a good time. Worth a visit. (Look for the "secret" bar in the back - it's really unique!)

Nice servers good service day time- night scene incredibly crowded and we were passed over by the hostess to enter The Noble Experiment. Won't ever be back, do not recommend after 5 p.m.

We sat on the outside patio, which was very nice. The food was excellent, and they offered food that is not your typical food. They also have a good beer selectin.

Again with the burgers and fries... I thought last night's was good at Slaters 50/50, and it was. However, tonight I had The Hood Burger at Neighborhood, and it doesn't get any better. Also, the Truffle Fries were outta this world. The beer selection was great as was the service. Thanks Kris! No need to try another burger joint.

I've been there with two colleagues and this was sold as a peculiar restaurant where you can taste not ordinary food. I had steak tartare that was tastefull and really freash with wounderful dressing. As main I had their bacon burger and meat was perfect cooked and good. Sweet fried potatos. I tried a beer sampler and I enjoyed beer I had never had with unexpected taste. Atmosphere was typical pub ans service perfect. I would come again with pleasure.

Dropped in for a brew (they have many locals on tap) and a late afternoon snack. Bartender was a hoot - busy and kibitzing with clients. Food was interesting twist on pjb grub, we'll made, and we'll presented. Young crowd, but fun.

This is a great place to go if you are looking for a bar that will not destroy your ear drums and provides a great selection of beer!

We shared a few appetizers, and a salad, and it was more than enough. The beer selection is extensive. Also, go explore.. You'll never know what you'll find!

As a single traveller, I sat at the bar and had good service. Although I am not a beer expert, they had an extensive selection. I am writing this review mainly to recommend the fish tacos. They were served three on a fancy taco plate that kept them all neatly upright. The shrimp were fresh and the flavor was the best ever. It was served with 2 different sauces that were both excellent. I would definitely order this again.

Very good ambiance. Service very sympathetic. In the center of SD downtown. I am fan , I fully recommend !

Just stopped in here for a couple of beers on our way to the airport after reading good reviews - so can't speak to the food - although the menu had some interesting options I would love to go back and try. We had good service, liked the location and had around 30 draught beers to choose from. Drink list described each draught beer in detail. They also offered wine on tap, wide variety of interesting beers in bottles and cocktails. We were there on a Saturday lunchtime - I suspect it is a pretty busy place after work and game days.

Wow. What a nice place. Small corner spot with large windows that open to the street. Really great draft and bottle menu. Amazing menu. Beet salad was really good. Bill folders, instead of the standard vinyl booklet are journals that are full of comments. Really cool idea. “I wish this Neighborhood was in my neighborhood.” It seems that there is a California law or city ordinance that restricts samplers to four-5 ounce glasses. Alesmith X Extra Pale Ale, Port Midnight Expressions Black Lager, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, Coronado Black Sails Cascadian IPA, Tusk & Grain Black Hatchet Milk Stout

Wow! Not knowing where to get a casual meal in the Gaslamp District we relied on Trip Advisor to help us out. We chose Neighborhood based on reviews and the menu...we were not disappointed! In fact they exceeded our expectations in every way. If you're looking for a great local spot definitely give them a try!

Happy Hour was great - bartender knowledgeable about local beers. Atmosphere was eclectic. Would return next time we are in San Diego.

Nice find just a couple of blocks away from Gaslamp. The beer list is impressive. I am always on the lookout for my favorite brewery (Russian River) and found the IPA on tap. We tried a couple of items on the menu. We ordered the chorizo corn dogs as an app and the veggie sandwich to get some variety. Both were very tasty. The atmosphere is chill with no obnoxious music. This is the place for beer lovers away from the crowds. P.S. Guess who is eating the burger in the painting on the wall

This small but active place was perfect for great beer selections, with advise on choices and small tastes, that were spot on. And with great food. Not your typical bar menu, definitely more upscale. We were visiting from NY and appreciated the city, but casual atmosphere. Service a bit on the lacking side, a few times I had to flag down a server, but at the same time they were accommodating and pleasant. Maybe a person did not show up that day? Cheese balls, fries, and fish tacos were amazing. Also just a block away form the gas lamp district that is always fun to walk through. Ask the manager about the secret behind the bathrooms.

I wandered in here with my Mom one afternoon. The beer was delicious and our bartender was amazing with the recommendations of local beers to try.Almost every beer was local which was awesome. A great bar for lovers of craft beer.

We ate outside: we turned up as a party of 6 and although they had no big tables, we pulled two together. The staff were outstandingly friendly and helpful, polite and always looking for who needed another drink or food. Excellent selection of beers. Food was tasty and well cooked but very carby - great for the person who was about to run a marathon. Portions were big. I recommend it for a casual place, and will be back next time I'm in San Diego. Keep an eye open for the friendly pig at the store next door!

This place can be a little bit noisy but for most restaurants that are like this one it's not that bad. The food and the drinks make it worth the small line to get in that is typically there and it's always very entertaining to look around the restaurant with the decor it has.

We popped in for a couple of drinks during happy hour and were very impressed. Really nice atmosphere and the drinks were incredibly good value. The service was laid back in the best possible way; our server was always there when we needed something without being "in your face". We offered to sit at the bar as we weren't ordering food but were urged to sit at a table. Although we were only there for an hour or so, we were both really impressed. Good selection of local craft beer.

This was such a great place. I loved the drink menu, the atmosphere was super fun. The service was great and very informative about the selection. The speak easy in the back was really fun, wish we would have spent more time there. Great little place.

We stopped by this place on a tour of the different craft beer stops and ate the BEST burger in the neighborhood. The beer selection is amazing and a really good variety of local libations. Solid selections. The food is simple and really tasty. You have to try the burger! Perfect and juicy and hit the spot with a cold beer. So good! Don't miss the sides and fries are amazing. We loved the open bar area and great neighborhood feel of the area. Stop by and meet the great folks that work here! Wonderful service. Thank you! Cheers.

We came here on a Thursday night for dinner, just before it got busy. They have great burgers and a very extensive bourbon list (the reason we went there in the first place). Our waiter was very nice and when it turned out they were out of the bourbon my husband ordered, he recommended a few others. We had the fried goat cheese as a starter and both had burgers. I'd definitely come by here again when we are back in town!

.....Hidden in the back of the restaurant. It even has a hidden door! Best cocktails ever. Meghan the bartender is a real pro. All custom cocktails. Delicious!

The selection of beers was outstanding the atmosphere pleasant and the food was as good as the beer. I stopped here for lunch when walking around San Diego with my wife on a leisure trip and make sure I stop here every time I return to San Diego. I have never been disappointed.

We were just walking down the street and happened upon this place. We saw the outdoor patio and cool decor and figured, "Why not stop for a cold beverage?" We didn't eat, so we can't speak about the food. But we had two beers - both were awesome and the prices were reasonable - $6 for an ice cold microbrew. The servers were very helpful and pleasant. We have nothing negative to say at all. Everyone eating seemed to love the food and it looked unique and fresh. We plan to return to try the eats.

This place has a vast and unique beer selection and an intriguing menu, including great options for vegetarians. It's also reasonably priced. It's small though, so not ideal for big groups (unless you're going to take over the whole place!)

Good service, beet burger was excellent. Be careful because the oily thing you dip the sweet potato fries in could stain your clothing permanently. The fries themselves were good, though, as was the popcorn.

A very good beer bar/cafe with a unique menu that had a variety of interesting burgers and other sandwiches/entrees that seemed to focus on using locally sourced food, etc. It is fairly small and gets very crowded, and service was a little slow at times. But, I was definitely glad I stopped in.

Had the black bean burger - it was ok, a little on the soggy side. It came with homemade chips which were soggy and warm, not hot. Shared the fried pickle appetizer which was ok. Overall, nice atmosphere, service was excellent but the food was so-so.

Quintessentially, San Diego, went to the Mission Bay Brewery, thinking they served lunch. Toured and tasted at the Brewery and asked for a recommendation. We were very pleased with this choice. Burgers were great, the onion rings huge and the ambiance exactly as you would expect for a neighborhood place. Complete with great vistas from your table. Great brewery choices including Chimay on tap! Wow. Tried the cider, interesting.

Cool funky place with a diverse crowd and an energetic vibe. Great beer selection on tap. Food was better than typical pub fare. Service was a little slow, but acceptable.

This place is fantastic. Try the elote and the hood burger, they are delicious. You can order a flight of four Bourbons for $20 which is not bad, but even better are all the beers available.

Stopped here for lunch during a break from our convention. Heard good things based on internet reviews. I was a little surprised at the small number of menu items, but the food we had was good. Also had a good beer selection. Given all of the other good restaurants in the area, I probably won't go back.

One of the nicest places to visit in San Diego. Food is grate and served in a very nice place in the heart the Gaslamp district. And the assorted variety of beers has a choice for everyone. Unmissable.

On a tip from a server at another restaurant, we ventured over to the Neighborhood. There was a little bit of a wait when we arrived on a Wednesday night at 6ish. (BIG happy hour crowd that cleared out fairly quick). The "non host" Tyler or Trevor was genuine. We took a seat at the bar and our bartender, Ashley, as well as the rest of the staff were so attentive and awesome. Ashley had a smile that was so kind and warm! Her beer recs were great too! We decided to try the chicken "nuggets" and they were awesome! So much so, we wished we had time to dine there again. The place is tiny, there was a local bum who while annoying some patrons, added to the character. Not to mention there is a faux door made of kegs which leads to a speakeasy type of joint (private dining...) Make this a must stop on your list!!!

I drank an Old Rasputin stout and enjoyed a shot of Blanton's for only $10. My short rib entree with a spicy macaroni and cheese side was the perfect pairing for such a great libation combination. The location in the Village part of downtown San Diego adds to the Neighborhood's allure. The only disappointment is that I found out later that they have a secret speakeasy in the back of the restaurant. Oh well, that is just yet another reason to return.

Great vibe, genuine smiles on staff's faces! Stopped there today for lunch and picked an avocado/tuna toast: a must try. Spirits selection is top class too.

Service at the Neighborhood is really good and the hamburger was delicious. Place just has an active and friendly vibe.

An inviting , friendly, cozy place. Great beers and comfort food. We had the jalapeño Mac and cheese medium spice and it was great. The small plate designation is just that... It's a perfect size to share for two people. The steak frites is also a 2 person dish however our experience was that it was about 70% sweet potatoes and cheese to 30% steak. The steak is chopped up and thrown together with the sweet potatoe fries and cheese. Comforting but not a real steak frites. Desert we had an awesome beer float with vanilla ice cream. The waitress was awesome by the way. She is from Maryland and really made the dining experience great. Thanks to her and her recommendations!

We had reservations for the Nobel Experiment so decided to go early, parking can be a challenge in the Gas Lamp, get a snack and beer. 1st, although the Hood is on the small side they manage to accommodate a lot of people given the space, it's cozy but comfortable. We had a burger and jalapeno mac-n-cheese and of course a couple of craft beers. The food was very good and the beer even better, they have a very large selection. The service was excellent given how busy they were and have to give kudos to Ethen and Shawn. This is a great place for a quick bite before or after a game or as a prelude to the Nobel Experiment. If you're in San Diego this is a good option for beer and food.

Good food! This was one of the few places in the area where there was more than one vegetarian option on the menu. It felt like a place locals actually went to, unlike a lot of the Gaslamp area restaurants. They also had a good beer selection, and great service.

We had eaten at this popular East Village establishment a year or so ago and decided we should give it another try. This recent visit confirmed our first impression: a great place to hang and try the latest cocktail or a popular micro-brew, but the food accompanies the libations--not the other way around. I ordered the green salad with Ahi Tuna, although the tuna did not come in the more typical seared fashion, but rather lightly battered chunks that were deep fried. I enjoyed the tuna, but it did not complement the nicely dressed greens as well as thin slices of seared tuna could have. My guest had the tacos with pulled pork, which he said were tasty but not exceptional. The service was not as attentive as I expect for a downtown restaurant, although my guest--who has quite a bit of work experience in restaurants--noted that it appeared that we arrived right at a change of shift, which would explain some of the lack of prompt attention.

and I wasn't let down. Their albacore tuna melt is hands down the tastiest fish on bread to be had. Add to this the beer that was straight from the cask, no CO2, and you have yourself a great experience. Their sign out front says it all.

Cool little bar with outdoor seating and a secret bar available. We didn't eat but those around us did and it looked fairly decent. Small cocktail list and also served cold brew coffee which is an added plus. Friendly staff and good vibes

Enjoyed the hip atmosphere! The burgers were awesome as well as the Fried Pickles and Mac & Cheese starters! Everyone in our group had a great experience.

I went to the Neighborhood for a friend's birthday in April of 2018. I have never been before, but my friend recommended we go there. Nice atmosphere and good food, although the venue space appears to be a little small, however, there is plenty of room inside. Full bar with a myriad of local San Diego microbrewery beers. A simple menu that is a mix of tastes and cultures. Everyone can eat there regardless of dietary restriction. One of the members of my group is a vegetarian and she was able to find a good meal to eat. Recommended place to go for a beer at happy hour or for a nice dinner with friends!

Tasty unconventional burgers, with their own condiments, fantastic potato chips. Al fresco dinning possible, although not the best ambiance.

I ate here during a recent trip to San Diego and was extremely pleased with the beer and food, as well as the service. The beers were carefully selected and the wait staff were knowledgeable and helping in choosing what to drink. I ended up with a Pliny the Younger, which is one of the most delicious beers I've ever had. All of us ordered burgers and agreed that they, too, were top-notch - perfectly cooked and very nicely seasoned. The restaurant is a bit loud, though we didn't find it bothersome as we ate and conversed. The staff also was very friendly in putting us on a list to wait for a table and keeping us informed of when our table would be ready. This is definitely a good place to have a burger and a beer in San Diego.

LOVED this place! Got the San Diego beer flight which was awesome. Modern Times Universal Friend was my favorite beer. Good craft beer scene, great waitress and delicious fries. Would absolutely go back.

Had a seared tuna sandwich with fried egg and avocado on Top! Very unique and very tasty! A must visit for anyone in San Diego!!

This restaurant is a little dark, but some may like that. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque was amazing and so were the chicken nuggets. The salads look great too. Walking from the hotel was a little sketchy, but I got used to that after walking around the city. I got a flavored beer and it was so refreshing, I got another.

One of my favorite spots for a nice cold beer!!! The beet salad, chicken sandwhich and burgers are all awesome.

The Speakeasy around the corner was an excellent place to have truly unique drinks tailored to any preference you may have. Ordering was a full on conversation, not menu-driven. Reservations required. Go with a group to sample as many cocktails as possible. Price was reasonable IMO ($12-$15 per custom cocktail).

Here's the funny thing. When you walk by, they have a sign that says that they are not pretentious. To me, the very act of putting that sign out, and the fact that you mention it, makes you a little bit pretentious.... It's like they are trying so hard NOT to be pretentious, that they are actually a little pretentious. But don't let that stop you, I really love this place regardless. They have an awesome beer selection and the burgers are outstanding. Plus, the atmosphere is great. They are also the access point to another San Diego secret, but I'll let you tourists figure that one out on your own...I'll never tell. Plus, the beers are really cheap considering the quality. Many other places charge more for the same beers.

In town for business for a day and wanted a decent meal. This place is amazing! Food was absolutely delicious and staff was friendly and very helpful. Steak frites was one of the best I’ve had, and the cherry-almond pie somewhere between ‘worth the calories’ and ‘f@ck me!’ awesome. After dinner surprise was the speakeasy hidden behind a wall of beer kegs. Decor in the small space gave off a Roman catacombs-Pol Pot vibe but the bartenders were true artisans and the drinks worth it. Can’t recommend this place highly enough and will def be back!!

We loved the elote (grilled Mexican corn). Nashville hot chicken sandwich was VERY hot and good. Beet salad was nice once the kitchen got all the ingredients. Fairly priced.

We happened upon The Neighbourhood as we were looking for the hidden speakeasy (that we found, but it was full the night we went). As it turned out, we stayed and had a great evening at this gastropub. There are lots of drink choices, the prices are reasonable, the servers are very efficient and friendly, and the decorating is very eclectic. Make sure you read the quotes on the ceiling! Turns out we found a better bar than the one we were looking for.

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to find a place that wasn't a complete tourist trap. Stumbled upon Neighborhood while trying to find the Noble Experiment (turns out it's hidden inside the bar! But we were too late to get a reservation). Great place for a beer and the popcorn was delicious. Don't miss the pig (yes, the actual animal!) who belongs to the shopgirl next door!

Great little (and I do mean little bar) with a knowledgeable bar staff. I would call them mixologists because they made some really creative and tasty drinks. Lorenzo was our guy and he made one of the best margaritas we had on our entire trip. They have a great beer selection and when you consider what places like Barley Mash and other trendy places charge - its not that bad and quite frankly is more interesting. We didn’t have reservations for the speakeasy so can;t comment but it seemed to be popular among those that visited. I recommend you go early (5 PM) to grab a bar seat otherwise you might be left standing.

Around the corner from the Gaslamp, the Neighborhood, started by the same guys who opened Craft & Commerce, welcomes you with 20+ beers on tap. For those who are looking for a warmer hello choose whiskey or bourbon. To pair that nicely, include a burger and an order of chorizo corn dogs. Still have room? Try the Milk & Cookies or the Bourbon Cookie Dough Shake. Sitting at the bar prepare to be rubbing elbows with strangers who will soon become friends. On any given evening you will chat a girl who can lick her elbow or learn how painful it is to get a sleeve tattoo. This is your modern day Cheers. Don't ask for ketchup, you won't make friends.

There are tons of places to choose from if you're a beer connoisseur in San Diego. Neighborhood, however, is one of the best. Not only do they maintain an excellent beer selection including IPAs, porters, stouts, Belgians and sours, their staff know their beers and can make recommendations for those unfamiliar with the local beweries like Russian River and Green Flash. On my most recent trip, I think we ended up here at one time or another 4/7 nights. It's comfy, reasonably priced, well situated and has great beer. The food is better than average for pubfare, but in my experience can be a bit hit and miss. The two things I do recommend on their onion rings and the chorizo corn dogs. Both are awesome to snack on at any time.

This place is absolutely the best. The people are great. The food is absolutely the best!! The bartenders are the greatest!

This place has a good beer selection. The quality of food and service has gone down though over time.

The staff here really makes the place. They are friendly and knowledgeable. The selection of craft beers and ales is top notch and the craft drinks are imaginative and tasty. The food is also good, gastropub fare.

The speakeasy in the back was wonderful. The drinks were unique and the service was fabulous. Walk through Neighborhood to access the keg wall door.

Came here with some girlfriends great food!! Great cider and beer!! Love the vibes of a brew spot and the city life too!! Next time I want to try the speak easy!!! 👍

Cute little corner location with great friendly service. We didn’t know what we wanted to drink, our server brought us something, still not sure what it was, but it was perfect for what we needed. Light and refreshing after a heavy lunch.

My daughter and I were staying downtown and did not wat to get in the car to eat. We walked just a few blocks to the Neighborhood. Loved the interior! Wait staff was super. The menu has a variety of items besides burgers, but those were SO GOOD! We met a few of her friends there and they enjoyed the different beers offered. All great. The grilled cheese and tomato bisque was good, and the girls loved their sweet potato fries. The name certainly fits the restaurant. You were made to feel welcome and like a "regular". There is a secret passageway to a speak easy that we hope to try next time!!!

Asked a local for a recommendation for a good lunch spot and she sent us to Neighborhood. Ordered the fried goat cheese balls and seered ahi tuna sandwich with housemade chips. Service was friendly and efficient. Food tasty, appropriately hot, and nicely presented. Menu small but varied. Lots of interesting beer, wine, and spirits on tap. Sidewalk seating, large windows open to the street, a few tables, and a sit up counter maximize the capacity of a small corner location.

Awesome beer and delicious burgers. Cool staff and the music made it a lot of fun. Will be returning!

Not wanting to do a fancy and overpriced tasting menu somewhere, my wife and I went to Neighborhood on Valentine's Day, hoping for something laidback and casual. We certainly weren't the only couple coming their that night, but even with a few more people dressed up (and making out) than what is probably usual, it still had a cool low-key vibe. There was a wait for a table (almost always a good sign), but a very strong beer list helped pass the time. Coming from Minneapolis, it was a treat to sit at one of the indoor/outdoor tables in February, even if they are more communal style. With so many awesome-looking options, we asked our server for some guidance. She suggested a few items and recommended that we go with 2 smalls and 1 Entree, or 1 Small and 2 Entrees. We thought we'd be bold and went 2 & 2, but I was grateful for some honesty from the server on how much to order. Turns out, she was right as both my wife and I only got about halfway through our entrees. For small plates, we had the Chorizo Corn Dogs and Fried Chicken Deviled Eggs. Apparently I've grown accustomed to more and more restaurants offering small plates with just a couple bites on it, because I was surprised to get 4 nearly full sized corn dogs, which easily could've stood out as a meal on its own. Plus, they were excellent as were the dipping sauces, and it served as an excellent reminder about how fun corn dogs are to eat. The deviled eggs were perfectly prepared and adding the piece of fried chicken put me over the moon. What genius! I couldn't pass up the braised beef ribs, which came with a side of the jalapeno mac & cheese. At only $14, it was the most expensive dish on the menu. While not the best braised beef ribs I've had, they were still quite good, and the mac & cheese was excellent. My wife had the Neighborhood Burger and loved it, but we both left too much behind on our plates.

Visited on a Friday night with my wife and sister. Waiting time for a table was 45 minutes but were able to find a spot to stand and enjoy a beer. Wait staff were very friendly. The place is small and was a bit noisy. It is obviously a favorite spot in town as most other places around were not crowded and people kept coming in. I had the shredded brussel sprouts for dinner which was excellent.

We went here for apps and beers and were not disappointed! Our server was super knowlegable about all the beers and offerred tastes to help us decide. Food locally sourced and yummy. Standouts were the pickled deviled eggs, chicken "nuggets" (trust me, NOT like McD's) with various flavored dipping sauces to please everyone, and the sweet potato fries that we were told they are known for did not dissapoint. My friends are determined to go back at least once more before the week is over! Super friendly staff, cool atmosphere. You really do feel like you are part of the neighborhood here.

Truely a neighborhood joint. One of the best and interesting rotating taps in town. Often beer you won't find elsewhere. And the 4-7pm weekday happy hour offer the SD beers at half price! The wait crew and bartenders are a joy and all are craft beer experts. Great location just off the main Gaslamp with sidewalk patios. And the food? Well, you won't find better. They take real pride in everything they do and over the top food is no exception. It's a "you'll come back to place" for sure.

The food was great, the hops were tasty and the service was impeccable. We would definitely go back and eat here again.

Amazing place for food and drink. It was completely revamped and opened only in April 2021. The atmosphere is cozy/intimate, the food is amazing and creative. If you can, check out their speakeasies in the back. Noble is walk in but Youngblood requires reservations. It’s definitely a must-go dining and drinking experience.

Friendly staff and very fun environment. Lots of beers on tap. Extremely reasonable for the area. Everything went very well but just had to wait awhile to get the bill.

This place is a hidden gem! Seriously quality food and very reasonable pricing. The dill pickle chips were awesome! Burger was delicious avid sweet potato fries top notch. Ceviche was fresh and tasty and the goat cheese balls very smooth and creamy. Staff very friendly. Highly recommend, trying to squeeze another visit in before I head back home!
Great downtown spot
Was here earlier this week, and visited last year as well. Great menu - both for food and for beer. Love the outdoor seating. Close to downtown and was able to walk from my hotel. Will definitely stop in again if in San Diego.
