Great service, friendly, non-chain business. Excellent food, massive portions, eat in or take away. Loved it there. Perfect for anyone staying at the Hotel San Carlos, who don’t serve breakfast.

Tasty breakfast, so good the eggs and western sandwiches . Super nice the waitress and quick food. Non expensive at all.

Went there for a bite after the RCMH Xmas show. The chopped cheese burger was perfect with just the right amount of cheese. Tuna sandwich was very good and not smothered with mayo. Ambiance and overall experience. exactly as expected

Being in front of our hotel (San Carlos) we had breakfast in this diner four days out of five, so the proposal was varied and especially for the kindness of the staff and the speed of service. I recommend everything from eggs with bacon to New York cheesecake, from muffins to pancakes, from fruit salad to juices and Italian espresso. Prices in line with those of the big city.

The perfect New York diner. Family run, delivering excellent value breakfasts with superb, friendly service. It was a shame we were only in the City for 2 days as we could have eaten there every day for a month or more!

Went here for breakfast on our last full day in NY. Superb find. Waffles with scrambled eggs and bacon and a cracking big mug of tea. The only regret is that it took us until our last day to find it!

We are BA crew and in New York a lot this is a great place for breakfast and we’ve tried lots of places so well done New York luncheonette

Omelettes, pancakes, bacon (!)--just what you want in the morning in America. The place is crowded and there's a queue to get in, but the staff is efficient and friendly.

Went there with my father for dinner and we couldn’t have been happier; the food was amazing and the staff was kind and helpful

Had a later brunch here as we’d eaten early breakfast in our apartment. Service was efficient and friendly. Food was traditional NY breakfast with bacon, waffles, eggs etc. and very decent coffee too. Was busy but we got a table and served quickly. Breakfast including drinks 90$ so not bad for NY prices. Would definitely recommend

We were just walking trying to find a place to eat for an early lunch and came across this place. On a side street with little noise makes the outdoor dining a bit more bearable. Nothing fancy here but good solid food for a reasonable (for NYC) price. I had the greek omelette and my wife the chicken club. Both were very good and a lot of food for the money. The potatos were a bit on the greasy side but it did make them taste good. Will go back as this is probably the best value I've encountered since my work assignment started in July.

Nice breakfast place. Diner. Near the hotel, inexpensive, table service, great eggs, endless brewed coffee, well located- no reason to not like it. And yes, opens real early.which was a plus for me.

Lucky for us, we found this diner in front of our hotel. We had breakfast and I must admit that we eat very well. The staff is very friendly. The dishes are typical of diners but for my son there was Nutella and liked it very much on pancakes. Since we liked it we came back the other mornings and we tested quite a bit of the menu always remaining satisfied.

Stumbled upon this place after initial plans fell through at another nearby restaurant. Service and food here was excellent. Other reviews speak for themselves, does not surprise me at all that this place is rated as highly as it is. Will go again whenever I am in the area for business again.

Went here for breakfast during our trip as staying nearby. Good, solid breakfast. Good value. Worth queuing for. Throughput is high and your table will be cleared. You’re not rushed out but you know they wanna turn the table.

Average breakfast stop off. Queue outside around 9ish. OK. Expected. Seated within 20 minutes. Fairly small establishment with the usual menu. Food brought quickly. Some service good, some not so. Ticked a box but not one I'd return to I'm afraid.

An absolute must if in New York! Very friendly, amazing food and great value for money! We will be in here every day before we leave!

This is a real bargain. Their bagels are delicious and I got the lox and they gave me all the ac. accompaniments, Coffee is delicious. Had breakfast here a few years ago. It was great.

Everything you expect. Great breakfast and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced and great food! It was also open Christmas Day! Visited this great place on multiple occasions.

This was the perfect breakfast spot to start my day. Delicious coffee and my everything bagel with smoked salmon was divine! The service was great as well.

Why spend big money on a hotel breakfast when you can come here? This was our ‘go to’ breakfast diner during a week in midtown manhattan. There might be queue outside but don’t let that put you off. It moves quickly and the staff are very attentive at getting you in. Huge plates of pancakes and waffles come very quickly once inside.

We always choose breakfast out of the hotel when we do city breaks. NY LUNCHEONETTE looked a pretty good option and it was within walking distance of our hotel. It’s a humming place bustling with people - which is always a good sign. The menu was good variety. The food was tasty and of good quality. Service was excellent and staff were very pleasant. I thought the portions were possibly too big for us but this is America I guess. Prices were fair too. Great place for breakfast indeed. Thanks guys!

It just had to be done - classic NYC breakfast of waffles / pancake with bacon and maple syrup plus a mug of coffee. There was a queue but it moves quickly and worth the 20 min or so wait

Had Breakfast and dinner here again this year, service and food were perfect . This is a busy place for breakfast.

Three mornings in a row and three great breakfasts! The waitstaff is super friendly and the food comes out at an amazing speed. We tried many of the items, all great, but the French toast was the biggest hit. Highly recommend anyone staying in midtown give it a try.

This is a nice place if you are looking for a simple American breakfast. The menu is not extensive, but does have all the basics. We ordered the pancakes and french toast and both were very good. Service is quick and friendly. The restaurant is neat and clean. Prices are reasonable. Breakfast for two cost us $25.

Very nice food in a traditional NYC diner. Well priced and very tasty breakfast - it certainly keeps the family busy. Staff are also very nice - a nice change to some of the other diner’s we visited. A must try if you’re after the traditional American diner experience in the heart of NYC!

Good diner-style food, all the usual favourites including beef hash, potatoes etc and a good bustling ambience. I enjoyed my breakfast very much though the second time it was a bit undercooked. The staff are friendly and efficient too. There was a problem with the card machine and I was accidentally charged twice - when I went back the next day to sort it out they were very charming and waived the cost of my breakfast. I recommend this place highly.

We had dinner here one evening as it was very near our hotel and found it good value. Nothing special but certainly reasonable.

We were looking for a different place to try for breakfast (we are native NY'ers) and decided to try New York Luncheonette. It was a bit farther to east side than what we anticipated but it was worth it. Service is super fast and restaurant is clean. It's a hidden gem!

This diner was next to our hotel- so ideal location for breakfast. The food did not disappoint. The staff are friendly as well.

We enjoyed having breakfast here twice during our trip to NYC. Staff is friendly and attentive. Had a bagel BLT w/egg and eggs and bacon w/home fries. Coffee is delicious

Wonderful restaurant near the Fifty NYC hotel. We woke up late but NY Luncheonette serves breakfast all day. Fantastic food, great service, very busy but we never had to wait long to be seated or to get food. We came 3 times during our trip. Once for breakfast on day 1, dropped in to buy muffins to take back to the hotel on day 2, and lunch on day final. Never a bad experience.

Every time I visit New York I return here for the pancakes for breakfast! I would definitely recommend here!

Reasonable prices, great simple American style breakfast menu. It’s a busy place for sure. Really enjoyed the food. Staff were cool too. Would happily eat there again .

Amazing. This will be my new lunch spot in NYC. Service and food were amazing. Can’t wait to go back!!!

We stayed in a nearby hotel, and had breakfast here several times. Mix of tourists and local business people, and busy especially at weekends. Seems to be run by an extended family- the staff are cheery and helpful, but efficient. Usual US breakfast fare, clean, prompt, filling and tasty! Tried the corned beef hash, pancakes, french toast, and several of the listed omlettes- just to be sure!! They do have a lunch menu too. The staff made it for us. Thanks for looking after us, and fuelling our days!

NY Luncheonette is the absolute embodiment of a classic New York diner. Its service is impeccable and the kitchen runs like a well-oiled machine! My husband and I ate there two mornings in a row and both times the food was delivered super fast, the coffee was great, and each meal great diner classic. There was a line-up both mornings out the door, but it moved fast.

Exactly what you want from a NY diner. Easy, quick, yummy, and they have everything you would expect. We had french toast and eggs. All good!

Had breakfast here, mostly because we were staying at the San Carlos and it was pouring out, but we were pleasantly surprised. Very unassuming place- plenty of choices, staff was very friendly, service was prompt and the food and coffee were good- what more could you want?! Would definitely eat here again.

This was a great find. We were staying at Intercontinental Barclay this visit so wanted somewhere close that wasn’t a big chain. Found this one on your site and literally round corner. It was that good we went twice! Great portions at a great price and choice with lots of fresh coffee to set you up for the day! Fabulous place!

Fantastic genuine and traditional NYC dinner. Breakfast was so good we went everyday to charge us up for a days sight seeing. Some of the best French Toast I’ve ever tasted. Great service too. No frills but good and honest food.

A variety of breakfast items options. Extremely friendly staff. Jessica was very efficient and helpful. Tasty breakfast.

Came across this place while out walking. Had lunch here. Have to say it was delicious and really friendly staff. Very fast service and a great place for families also

Looking for classic American Breakfast in New York, this is the perfect place. They make the Breakfast as you like. Scramble, Omelets, waffles and much more. Natural Orange juice and fresh coffee. One of the favorites of former US President Barack Obama, and mine too!! Fully recommended!!

A1. Had breakfast there 3 times and lunch. All I can say is loved it. Great food. Great prices. Great service. All you want really. Nothing posh but food is fantastic. Awesome coffee too xx

Great service, great breakfast at this mid-town diner. If you are in a hotel near here, don't pay for hotel breakfast, come here instead. Sets you up for a long day seeing the sights in Manhattan.

Excellent service, food, and prices. Is a place where you feel like home. I love it! The employees know Spanish and English.

When I'm in the Big City I absolutely have to start my day here.. This very small spot bustles with activity-- like a finely tuned machine is the service.. The food is good-not great--but the service is SO great and SO fast that it almost seems like they started cooking my breakfast before I walked in the door..!! Gotta love that..!! I think I was in and out of there today in 15-20 minutes.Sit at the counter. A real taste of Manhattan..

Classic NY diner. Lots of staff, great service, quick and yummy food. We all enjoyed our breakfast and the great busy atmosphere.

I excellent choice of food for breakfast, great service and we left feeling very full! The portions are bigger than the photos!

We stayed around the corner and just decided to go for dinner, very old school diner looks inside, large diner style menu, and for New York very cheap. Food was outstanding, I had chopped cheese burger, best I’ve eaten, daughter had the veggie burger, again amazing, really surprised how good the food was for such an unassuming little place, came to write a review on Trip Advisor and discovered it’s no 117 in the restaurant ranks for New York, fully deserved.

During my stay in New York I had breakfast there every day, every day a different breakfast, every day a very good breakfast, the staff was always very attentive and helpful, they undoubtedly contributed to making my experience in New York much better.

Visited here with my wife and 2 year old recently. Staying in a nearby hotel charging $30pp for a buffet breakie, we decided to eat here instead. Fresh, made to order, American type breakfasts with all the trimmings. Served very quickly and with friendly service. Feels like a regular haunt and could imagine when it gets busy it probably feels frantic and hard to get good service but we visited at 730am midweek and it was relaxed. Very enjoyable.

This place is right next to the Kimberly Hotel where I stayed. Stopped in for breakfast and was totally happy I did. Food was great and came out in minutes. Staff were attentive and completely accommodating. I didnt take advantage but I saw they also had beer and champagne for mimosas. I'll be back to take advantage of that. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend!

Nothing special. We went for breakfast and had to wait 15 min outside to get seated. Inside was typical American style and kind of cosy atmosphere. Food although was very simple and not as good as described by others. Have been to much better places...

We came here for breakfast and apparently, so do the locals! Excellent find! The restaurant was bustling with activity, even at 9:30am, which on a weekday, seems to be past peak hours. Our meal was plentiful and the service was excellent. Basic American breakfast choices. Cost was reasonable. Portion size was plentiful.

What a find this was!! We had breakfast here every morning of our 6 night stay. We initially tried it because it was so close to our hotel but kept going back because it was amazing!! The service was second to none and the choice and quality of food was excellent. We would definitely go back again if we return to New York!

This place was just brilliant, super friendly staff, a lovely welcoming feel and a real hidden gem in the city. We went here the first night we arrived from London as we were tired and it was close to our hotel. We had the best egg salad sandwiches I've ever eaten! We went back again another night as it was so good and had omelettes. The food is so good here, the service fantastic and the atmosphere so relaxing. It was so good we couldn't even get in for breakfast the few times we tried! Definitely recommend.

We saw this on trip advisor and as it was close to our hotel we thought we would try te breakfast- and we were pleased we did😋 Good selection, quick service, and tasty food. The team have worked together for years and run a very slick service in a very popular place. Would recommend for a great breakfast spot.

I wanted to get off the tourist wagon and have the authentic New York dinner experience. Here, I found exactly what I was looking for! Utterly undrinkable filter coffee, dirty tables, snappy customer service (both in speed and temperament), greasy food, huge portions, nauseating yellow-painted walls, and lots of New Yorkers shouting “ya know” down the phone. Rarely is a cliché so well executed. Hats off to staff and customer base alike. Regards, Clopin

Nice to see and taste the same good service with the same high standard of tasty food. Due the pandemic tables are spread out, losing some of the crowde d feel of the place. A tasty meal was enjoyed.

We fell upon this great All American Diner on our last night in New York! We were greeted by friendly, efficient staff. It was very quiet when we arrived but it didn’t take long to fill up with families, couples etc. We ordered the soup,Chicken Noodle & two mains of Chicken, followed by homemade Rice Pudding & a rich Chocolate Cake Pudding! Tasty, plentiful food with a great American Diner feel.

We tried eating here, having read it is a New York "institution." So is Riker's Island, the triangle shirt factory etc. No matter what we tried to order, we got what they served, the way they served it and charged a fortune.

We ate here twice for breakfast and loved it. Fast and friendly service. Authentic diner experience in Midtown.

great place for breakfast, always ate pancakes and bacon, but they have all the classic repertoire, average prices of the place, consider that for children one course is more than enough!

We visited here every morning when we were in NYC. It was literally around the corner from our hotel which was a bonus. The staff remembered us when we returned. Great breakfast, fantastic service, special requests were easily met. Reasonably priced for the location.

Excellent breakfast location, with brilliant staff, and really efficient service. Restaurant is really reasonably priced, and has a great menu that should suit most people

We ate here for breakfast twice and had lunch one day too during new year holidays and it was excellent, the food was good value and excellent quality and service was great, this is what I expected as a typical New York diner and it was always busy and you usually have to queue for ages mins but it is worth it for sure!

Ate here twice during an overnight stay recently, the first time because it was on the way to the subway station and we were hungry, and the next morning because we were looking for a good place for a reasonably priced breakfast (The breakfast at our hotel was 40 dollars!). We found the service to be efficient, and the food arrived very quickly. Portion sizes were good sized, so we felt as if we definitely got our money's worth. For lunch, we had the beef brisket and gyro respectively. I am not a huge beef person, but the brisket was tender and flavorful. For breakfast, I had the pancakes while my husband got the omelet. Both were very good!

If you need a quick breakfast any time of the day this is an organized old time NY diner stop. The staff was pleasant and served us quickly but for the price the food quality was poor. The coffee was some of the worst I’ve had. Tasted watered down. The omelette and French toast was hot and good but the sausage bacon and muffin equaled the coffee in taste.

Excellent quality products. Impeccable service. Tables disinfected between each customer, very generous portions for the price paid. Excellent value. I recommend with my eyes closed!

Unfortunately we only discovered this gem on our last day. Great selection and large portions. Fab friendly staff too. Highly recommend the lox and bagel or egg platter.

This is right next to our hotel and great for breakfast! Very reasonably priced and great food! It is gets super busy so be prepared to queue! It was also open Christmas Day!

We arrived and waited a short while until we were sezted and order take. Clean freshly prepared. Polie efficient service. A gem of a place.

Good food, very fast service, clean, and a nice variety of choices. Ate breakfast here every morning during our New York stay.

Didn’t want the”free” breakfast at the hotel, so we ran across this place. We were hoping the crowd was attracted by a diamond in the rough, but it is just a place to get a cheap breakfast. It was fine and all, but you wont remember what you had 10 minutes after you leave. It just fills your stomach.

Great breakfast and at a reasonable price. I had the two eggs with sausage and my wife had the egg sandwich with American cheese and ham. Really good food and the whole thing was less than $25.00. We did not have any beverages. Will be back!

Bagel with egg and bacon and at stack of pancakes were perfect for these two hungry tourists. Nice staff

Convenient. Very nice, safe neighborhood. Good for breakfast/lunch. Quick in and out. Good coffee. I love corn muffins. There’s are really good Would go again

Best diner in NYC, so glad the survived the pandemic. Thank you for keeping us well fed during our stay. We will be back for sure.

Just a short walk from our hotel, pod 51, this little gem has good, friendly, efficient service. I loved its old school diner feel. The food was well priced and the portions large and delicious. OverLl very good.

We went as a family early in the morning to have breakfast in this restaurant. Everything there was excellent, pancakes, waffles,. pancakes, frankly a very good address. Impeccable service. I recommend.

The people who work at this place are extremely hard workers. The breakfast omelets are excellent and are priced very low for New York City. Highly recommend!

Stopped in here as was on our way and it was rammed. It was absolutely fine but very rushed. Food was fine, but simply average. No one was wowed by what we had and it met a need. I wouldn’t rush back.

Clean, fast and friendly place. Eggs “medium well” were done to perfection - pretty rare! Family dined well. Prices are good for NYC, high for the rest of the world but a good spot for a tasty brekkie.

Unfortunately didn’t find this until our last morning. Super breakfast, plenty of choice. The pancakes were delicious and so was the fruit. Good old fashioned diner where they constantly top up your coffee. Delicious is all I can say. Would go there every morning next time! Great food, great service!

I took a nice breakfast, along with a coffee. The service was super fast despite that the place was full, the waiters really kind. The food was delicious, i felt like home!

Was staying a couple of doors down. Didn’t want to pay hotel price for breakfast. Even though packed at 930 on Friday was able to get a single. That should tell you something right there. Ordered and had food in 5. I mean it’s basic but they’re super friendly and yelling hello and good bye and the food is good and it’s fast and price friendly. What else could you ask for?

I passed by the place before I decided to turn back and give it a try. It was a Saturday late morning and the place was filled with people, though I could tell the place turned over quickly because of the fast service. While the seating is a bit close together, it never felt cramped or crowded. The service was friendly and fast and the food was delicious. I went back again Monday morning before I left the city. I loved that there was a diverse group of people in the restaurant. It was very welcoming.

This diner was absolutely perfect for our first night in New York. The staff were efficient, friendly and really welcoming, the place was spotless and the wine was very good. The portion sizes were huge! When I’d finished it looked like I hadn’t touched it, if we’d shared a meal between 2 it would still have been too much. And as I hate waste I was really bothered about the food I didn’t eat but I guess if I lived nearby I could’ve taken the leftovers and it would’ve done another meal or two. If I ever go back (and I hope I will), I’ll be sharing a meal or asking for a half portion. And the prices were so reasonable I think halving the portions for the same price would still be great value.

Absolutely great wee place. We stayed around the corner at the Lotte palace and used this each morning for a week, really quick service and the food was brilliant. It’s not uncommon for a queue to form outside but it moves quick. It’s maybe a little expensive but nowhere near the cost of hotel breakfasts. We would eat here and it would set us all up for the day, no need to eat until night. Travelled with 2 teenagers who loved it as well. Well worth the visit

I wanted an early lunch because I have an early dinner and show. This choice was next to my hotel and after seating me was advised that they don't do lunch until 12. I settled on French Toast and Bacon rather than going to find another spot and had a rather bland meal. The bacon had been fried with something else and did not taste right and I only took the first bite and left the rest.

This is a great breakfast spot, we went in twice during our trip as the food was great and very reasonably priced. Service was quick and friendly. It is very popular though so either go early or be prepared for a wait - the queue does move quickly though and it is definitely worth the wait.

This place is great, we went back for breakfast 3 times. The food is fresh and tasty. The service was friendly and efficient. We went back one evening and the food was also great. Also, try the cheesecake.

We had a nice meal here. The menu had something for everyone. They had beer and wine but it was casual enough to take our kids. The prices were high but maybe not for nyc. The portions were a good size. I would definitely eat here again!

We’ve known about the Luncheonette for a while, and every time we’ve been there it’s not disappointed! It’s an old style family run diner, with a huge typically American breakfast. We liked it as there was a healthy mix of regulars and tourists there. We had a selection of pancakes, waffles, bagels, eggs (all on separate days!) and the food was spot on, at reasonable prices. The service was swift, so there’s a regular change of tables, and if they’re busy, they thank you for eating and then getting on with your day. We’re looking forward to going back there, the next time we go to NYC!

Simple, no frills diner. Super polite staff. Fast service. Stopped by for a quick breakfast. I was solo and did not have to wait in line. Host immediately brought me to a counter seat. Ordered a Belgian Waffle. It was perfect, fluffy, delicious and crisp on the outside.

We visited New York recently and stopped by the New York Luncheonette which was close to our hotel for lunch. The food was great and the service was perfect. The Reuben and Chicken Parmigan sandwiches were really tasty and the portions were generous. The service was really good. Staff were really friendly and this felt like a family run place. I highly recommend to anyone.

Great breakfast - I ordered a couple of breakfast sandwiches to go and it was made quick and hot and the staff was very friendly. Very reasonable too.

This café was walking distance from our hotel and that's why we stopped in for breakfast. The great food and great customer service kept us coming back during our NYC trip. We ate here a total of 4 times. I tried something different each time and was very pleased with all my choices. My husband ordered the Philly Cheese Steak every time because it was so good! You need to give this diner a try! You won't be sorry!

If you are looking for a good american breakfast for a reasonable price and need to be somewhere in a hurry, I can highly recommend.

Great NYC breakfast! We were seated quickly and really liked the waffles, bacon and home fries. Fairly priced with good service.

Got the suggestion from InterContinental Barclay concierge to try Luncheonette when I was asking him for a local diner to have breakfast. We had a good meal and service was really good. One of the fluffiest waffle I’ve tasted and the bacon and eggs were really good. The house coffee is soso but overall, good time and value for the money in this place.

We were staying at the 50 Sonesta Hotel just a couple of doors away and stopped here for breakfast one morning for a good meal before a very busy day. I had mushroom omelette and grits, my wife had granola and yoghurt whilst my daughter had a cream cheese bagel. The food was absolutely spot on and the service efficient and polite if somewhat abrupt but I have learned to realise that this is just the NY way! The menu was extensive and I would have loved the bacon, pancakes and maple syrup but was reminded that perhaps my stomach was probably big enough!! I’m sure that there will be many diners like this in the city but at least you can be guaranteed a lovely atmosphere and food to match at the New York Luncheonette..

We had breakfast included with our hotel booking at the Riu, but decided to skip the hotel breakfast for this place one morning, after it was recommended by a friend - and their recommendation was spot on. Cosy, traditional American diner style place, bustling (so get there early or expect to queue). Service was amazing - such a friendly bunch of people, gorgeous breakfasts, good value and pretty speedy too. We’d definitely recommend this place for breakfast ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visited three times this week and loved everything about it. Friendly, welcoming staff, buzzing atmosphere and delicious food. Excellent value for money and a good selection of dishes. So glad we found it.

We loved this place, it was close to our hotel. We had breakfast and dinner here. A classic New York feel, friendly and courteous staff. Really great food and reasonable prices to boot. Gets busy for breakfast so get in there early and I recommend the steak and eggs.

Me and my wife was staying at the Lexington hotel just round the corner . We were recommended this place for breakfast food was great service was brilliant . A real New York diner great 😊

We were in NYC for 5 days. We had breakfast here 3 days and dinner once. The service is amazing fast considering how crowded it is. The breakfast is really good. Try the reuben sandwich for lunch or dinner.

Fantastic food and service! My wife and I stopped in with our adult son. None of us had ever seen such a quick turnaround on a breakfast order. Delicious pancake and omelets. Service also super friendly. Pricing a little higher than a diner we were at the day before, but worth it.

Visited here based on the recommendations on trip advisor. I enjoyed it here, the service was good and the food was alright too. Well worth popping by for your traditional NY breakfast fix

Popped in for breakfast and was lucky enough to be seated straight away! 2 adults and 2 teenage children, we all had different and enjoyed what we ate. Great typical American breakfast and huge portions that kept us going till late afternoon.

We called in for breakfast and even at 10AM it was very busy. Great food choices and generous portion sizes. Coffees topped up as we ate. From ordering to food on the table was quick. We worth visiting.

Best diner we found in NYC. Good food , lots of choices , great service and cheaper than other diners. It was always busy too which tells you everything you need to know

Stayed in Manhattan for 8 nights and visited this fabulous place twice for breakfast, the food was fresh and tasty absolutely no complaints whatsoever, will definitely return the next time we are in NYC

Nice enough breakfast, friendly and fast service. Definitely good enough just nothing outstanding to rate it higher than average.

We found this place last time we were in NY, and were glad to go back. Had breakfast there two mornings in a row. The service is unbelievably quick, we joked that the kitchen knew what were going to order before we even decided. Nothing fancy, but good quick breakfast. There is usually a line, but it moves quick,

Good value diner with typical diner menu selection. Went for Sunday brunch. No wait, attentive service, good portions, reasonable prices.

Fantastic breakfast options whilst staying in hotel nearby. Good selection of options. Service is quick and friendly.

Got a referral to go here at our hotel. Had breakfast around 11 am with a few mimosas. Staff was extremely friendly and efficient. Would recommend.

Amazing food, great service went back the next day. It's run so well that waiting times are not too bad at all. So tasty.

breakfast here while staying at hotel next door. Very snappy service and reasonable prices, Something on menu to please everyone

I stayed for a week in NY with my family and had breakfast here almost every day! They have real homemade breakfast. Servers, waitresses, kitchen staff they all seem happy and it shows in the taste and quality of the food. They were really kind to my son and we even had a couple laughs during the week.

We were recommend this place for breakfast by a friend . Luckily for us it’s only a few blocks from our hotel, the breakfast is very very good and reasonably priced. Staff are efficient and the service is quick . We went for the first time yesterday and we will be going back today . It’s very busy and looks like it’s frequented by the locals so I’d recommend turning up at a reasonable time especially in the working week to make sure you get a table.

Everythink was very delicious .The people are really nice and its a musthave when you come to New York . There is such a Good athmosphere!!!

We stayed at the Benjamin hotel a couple doors up from this cafe. We had breakfast in here every morning and it never failed to let us down. Food was fab and staff were very friendly. We didn’t try anywhere else for breakfast as this hit the spot!! Even had lunch 3 hours after breakfast on our last day! Highly recommend

Amazing recommendation from the concierge at the Lotte Hotel. Wasn’t disappointed. Excellent food and massive Selection to choose from. Portions are big

This was our regular breakfast stop. There’s a bit of a wait, so that tells you how good it is. Food is delicious. The people working there couldn’t do enough for us, accommodating our wheelchair real well (unusual for NY!) even though the diner isn’t huge. Our fussy daughter wasn’t too keen on her breakfast, so they made her a tiny pancake to see if she liked those instead. On the last day we were sent off with best wishes of safe travels, as if we’d been friends forever. If we ever come back to NY we will definitely visit and will recommend to anyone we hear is going over there.

We ate breakfast here a few times and really enjoyed it. Friendly staff - bottomless coffee - and a good range of food options. The omelettes went down really well with us!

Okay, but I expected more from the food... it looks great when you eat it just fine. Fast service, small place. Interesting: not so much buzz inside

I never ever write reviews but I had my hopes high for this place because of the ratings and the trip advisor award but I was extremely disappointed. The food was sloppily thrown together in less than 5 minutes and it was clear they just wanted to get people in and out as fast as possible without caring about the quality of their food. They put a pile of cream cheese on our bagel and didn’t spread it out whatsoever and the lox was just thrown on with nothing else on it, falling off the bagel because of the piled up cream cheese. My egg sandwich was simply halved sausage links, a mound of cheese only in the middle of the sandwich and a burnt egg. It made me feel sick the majority of the rest of the day. It was a very rushed experience, I understand it’s a diner but our waiter came up to us twice, once to take our order and once to bring the check. I’ve been to my fair share of diners and this by far was the worst experience I’ve ever had.

We stopped by for breakfast on a Sunday around 10am. There was a queue and we waited for around 10 minutes but they were super quick at seating us at the counter. The food was served quickly and it was amazing ( I had pancakes with bacon and my bf had corned beef hash) and their own coffee was really good. A local lady sat next to us started a conversation, the service was really friendly and the place had a nice atmosphere. We found it one of the least touristy restaurants we visited. We would definitely return here.

We've been there for Breakfast and Lunch every day on our stay Simply good food and nice flair When in New York a must in my point of view

A quintessential New York diner - perfect place for a speedy but really delicious breakfast. Friendly staff & served quickly but without feeling rushed. You never need to queue for long so if staying nearby it’s definitely worth the visit. It’s across the road from the San Carlos Hotel & we went 4 days out of 5 with the 5th day being a slightly underwhelming visit to a more tourist-attraction focussed diner. This is much better!!

We went to the luncheonette on our first morning in New York on a friend’s recommendation, It did not disappoint... good service and great variety of food choices. Be prepared to queue outside for a table

We went there three days in a row for breakfast. They get you in and get your food so fast that it seems like they started it before you sat down. Had their pancakes one day, eggs another and an omelette the third day. You'll love it!

Uncomplicated lunch with original flair. Good selection of typical dishes such as club sandwich at moderate prices. No separate children's menu, we could then order something from the breakfast menu. Good Quality of food.

it was my first time in New York, I was with my mom and my little brother at this restaurant, on December 25, 2025, there was a waiter who spoke to us so badly, we had to leave the restaurant, everyone everyone was able to see it, while we were Quiet, HE was hostile, I don't want to insist on the word racist but it seems like it, I hope that it won't happen with other people and that it sir, put it in its place

Good location near the subway. Not too loud. Had a good eggs and waffles breakfast with a side order of home fries. Would come here again if in the neighborhood.

We stayed across the street at the San Carlos Hotel and ate breakfast here everyday for 6 days. Service was excellent. Breakfast food was excellent. Clean. It was a great way to start off each day. Very fortunate that we never had to wait for a table. The service was quick. Coffee good. Great way to start our sightseeing days!

Wow what a place, just amazing. We had our breakfast here every morning of our New York stay, to set us up for a long day trekking around the city. The menu is very varied and everyone is great prices. The food is amazing, the queue outside the door shows many others share this view. Although there was a queue every morning it moved extremely quickly with a time of 5 mins being the longest we had to wait. The staff are friendly and offer a great service. I would highly recommend this place for breakfast. We didn’t eat any other meal here so cannot comment on other menus but they clearly have great chefs working here

Brilliant service, we got served really fast and food was bought to the table so quickly. The pancakes are amazing as is the French toast. My husband and I came here twice cos it was that good - they also top up your coffee which is a nice touch.

The owners/staff obviously run this business like a well oiled machine. We went for dinner when it wasn’t busy and our drinks were refilled before even asking. They were “Johnny on the spot” service. We also went for breakfast when it was jammed packed. They got people in and out without pushing them. For a family of 5 that doesn’t have a huge income - this was very well within our budget. Great portions, and great service. We highly recommend.

This diner is a hidden gem. Great food at reasonable prices with good service. Highly recommended for breakfast to start your day.

For brunch, we came here, and the food was excellent! We selected the country omelette, Mediterranean omelette, french toast lumberjack with bacon, and the pancake lumberjack with bacon. The omelettes and french toast were both tasty, and the pancakes were fluffy. The service was prompt and attentive, and the portions were generous.

Classic NY diner. Tucked just of Lexington, there was a line to get in when we arrived (whole party must be present to be seated). Ordered scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast. All were really good. Family also got an omelet, which came with enough of everything to make the diner happy. Coffee was good too!

My friend and I ate here a few times because it was next to the terrible restaurants at the Kimberly Hotel. It was "ish." NYC is full of great old diners, and we found tons better by walking around. It's not terrible, but why pay double for iffy food?

We ordered two Philly cheese steak sandwiches from here. They were average. Not juicy enough and not enough cheese and fillings. More dry meat. My wife and I both felt the same way. Would not order again.

I am an American expatriate who has lived many years outside the US. During a recent visit to Manhattan, I was staying in the East 90s and arranged to meet an old friend at 1:00 pm at Grand Central Station. I decided to walk and stop along the way for a must meal when I visit the US -- an American breakfast of eggs, hash browns and toast. I walked most of the way down Lexington Avenue and by the time I reached 50th Street I still had not found a place that induced me to sit down. Then I noticed New York Luncheonette on east 50th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues. What could be more appropriate for my American breakfast in New York City than a restaurant with that name? As I approached I saw there was partially enclosed curbside seating that was a legacy of the Covid-19 pandemic. I asked the person greeting patrons (the “Host”) if I could sit there. He said yes, but that it would be quite hot and suggested I eat inside. I told the Host I am not used to the strong air conditioning that is prevalent during summer in NYC and opted for the curbside enclosure. However, the only table available was right under a fan and I did not think my sweaty body could handle that. The Host then offered to move the table and chair out of the enclosure and put it next to the restaurant. So, I had fully alfresco seating. The Host's kindness itself would have endeared me to New York Luncheonette. However, the excellent treatment was matched by the meal. I always order my eggs, hash browns and toast in a particular way, and each item came out just as I had ordered. And even the coffee was better than the usual diner coffee. It was a good meal and a good experience!

Came here on the off chance as our dinner reservation at a different restaurant had been cancelled. Food portions were massive but so reasonably priced compared to other restaurants in the area! I would definitely come back as I absolutely loved this place! BTW ask about Barack Obama you will be in for a surprise!

Stumbled on this place. They serve traditional American breakfast. So what ever you want they have it. You will not go from this place hungry.

We came here because it was right next to our hotel and reasonably priced. We kept coming back here because the food was consistently excellent, (don't go anywhere else for breakfast, and grab some cheesecake while you're at it!) and the staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for us. Obviously the reviews on here are from tourists, but the staff at my hotel said they go here for lunch, and at breakfast you will find all sorts enjoying themselves. They have a big step but a ramp they put down very quickly. I don't know if they have disabled toilets, but it's likely to be so near your hotel you might as well pop back. If you're in the area, you should definitely check this place out.

If you are looking for good food, great service and a quick dine-in experience this is the place. Reasonable prices for NYC too and right around the corner from the Maxwell Hotel and Marriott. Enjoy!

Stayed at a hotel across the street. Ate here every morning and split a breakfast with my hubby. Plates are huge; food is well-prepared and employees are friendly!! A truly GREAT find in NYC.

Visited several times, from breakfast, lunch and even a cake stop. Enjoyed every visit, good excellent, service excellent, price reasonable for new york. Thanks to everyone

Excellent dishes, typical American restaurant. Delicious pancakes with fresh fruit and whipped cream. We had breakfast with the whole family.

Great breakfast, very quick and efficient service. Basic cafe - nothing fancy, but would definitely recommend especially if you’re staying nearby.

The place was great. Great waiters, amazing food not fast food but quickly made with quality. The only problem was the bathroom was crazy warm and a little small for only one on the store. Overall though I would say it’s a great family place very nice and welcoming.

Really nice, well cooked food, with very good staff. I have been here about five times and it is consistent and excellent every time.

We found this absolute gem on our last day of our holidays and what an absolute shame as it was AMAZING!! As soon as we walked in all the staff were warm & inviting. You immediately felt at ease. Food was delicious and great value particularly in relation to neighbouring diners. The diner it’s self was a tourists dream as it felt like it was just out of the movies. We had breakfast & were set for the day. Would love to return next time we are in NY

Dined here a couple of times for breakfast whilst in New York staying at the nearby InterContinental Barclay, a great traditional diner which was always busy, although we didn’t have to wait long for a table. The service was quick, efficient and staff very friendly. The food was always fresh and hot and very tasty. Would highly recommend.

Excellent choice. Friendly service - food served quickly and piping hot. Full of locals, so that confirms this is an excellent spot to grab a quick bite to eat.

You fancy an omelette with some pancakes dressed with maple syrup and good quality brewed coffee? Or maybe a delicious sandwich rich of ingredients? This is the place. And the good thing is you can have these no matter what time it is at a perfect location: just around the corner where Lexington Ave and East 50th Street meets.
A great American breakfast
We found this amazing little place on our last morning in NYC. A great breakfast which felt very authentic as an American diner experience. Lovely server and a great atmosphere. We had waffles and fruit, waffles and bacon and French toast and sausage. Finished it all and the food was, by far, much better than other chains we had tried during our stay (Junior’s).
