We ate hear because we have some friends that used to live in the city and said we had to go. It did not disappoint. Amazing. Try the BBQ Pork. It was great.

Pho can be a masterpiece - in here is just ok. The outstanding ingredient was grilled chicken served on the side. But the soup itself missed the depth and I would be happier with more variety of greens to be served on the side. But the prices are very moderate so it comes as a big advantage. We paid 29 dollars for one regular and one large pho (special one with grilled chicken), a beer, jar of tea and Vietnameese coffee - less than we paid this morning for 2 bagels, 2 coffeess and 2 soft drinks in a random deli.

Restaurant rated by Zagat. We were pleasantly surprised. The waiters were very friendly, the food was served very fast. It was for the first time that I ate at a Vietnamese restaurant. I had a shrimp springroll and noodle soup with beef and it was served with fresh soy sprouts, lime and freh basil on the side. It was very good and tasted delicious. And the prizes are surprisingly low. I also liked that we coud just sit and talk after we had finished our meal and nobody bothered us or pushed us to pay and leave.

We had a Pho with beef. Was excellent. We also had a jumbo shrimp dish with cabbage and other vegetables. Both were very fresh and good. It's a simple restaurant with real good food.

Having dinner in a Korean restaurant diners at our neighbouring table told us they had a favourite Vietnamese restaurant in Baxter St. Unfortunately they could not accurately recall its name. Anyway the conversation got us interested enough to go down there a try Vietnamese cuisine. There are three in Baxter St so a good chance we might pick the same one. Don't know if we did but here the food was good and great value. Sadly we haven't enough time in New York to go back and try the others to compare. Next time maybe.

i must say it is the next best vietnamese after saigon grill. however, their bo luc lac is not near saigon grill quality.

Love eating here, great service, reasonable price, awesome portions of food. I eat here every time I visit NYC. The place is always busy and that itself is a good indication of the food.

Super fast meals that were great tasting and incredibly priced. An awesome spot to enjoy yourself and get good service.

Everything is delicious. Service is quick and the prices are very good. Nothing more to ask. Everytime we go to NYC, this is one of our favorite stops. I would recommend that for lunch more Than for a chic dinner.

Just mediocre

Once you find it in a hidden corner and experience the food you will be as amazed as me. Rather dingy looking on the outside but decent service and very reasonable prices. Try the Vietnamese crepe with shrimp, chilis, bean sprouts and other veggies just great. Their pho is good and this place still is good after all these yeras. Almost forgot about it but went here after working for hours to be happy and I was.

Pretty serviceable Vietnamese joint in Chinatown. Pho was okay, but not mindblowing.

When we first walked in, the first think that we noticed is that it was full of Vietnamese people. I always say that when a restaurant is full of people from its country, it's definitely amazing. We couldn't have been happier with the food and service! It's a must place for us now whenever we go back to New York. Not a fancy restaurant at all but great if you are looking for something fast, cheap and great!

Two of my friends and I stumbled upon this restaurant totally by accident. We were pressed for time, very hungry and longing for some quality Asian food. Nah Trang One did not disappoint! We shared crispy squid and seafood casserole and washed it down with Chinese beer. The service was friendly, professional and quick. Needless to say, this place is already on my list of favorites in NYC.

Every time we go to New York City we go to this Vietnamese restaurant. Everything is made and the flavors are great. We had 5 in our party and everyone loved their dish.

Friends took us here on a short walk from their downtown residence to Chinatown. Food was good. Service was acceptable. I love Vietnamese food and will likely be back. We had some normal studs and some not but all good.

The pho was just ok and the portions were rather small. The service was rushed. I didn't feel comfortable relaxing and just enjoying a family meal. In all I felt that table turnover was more important than customer satisfaction.

A good place for a quick dinner in China Town. Really good food and it comes really fast and fresh. Prices are good as well! Kitchen closes a bit early though, 9.30 pm.

It is certainly not easy to pick a place to eat in Chinatown. So many restaurants looking more or less the same. we knew we wanted vietnamese food, which we love, so headed for Baxter street. There are three vietnamese places side by side there, which we had heard were all good. We picked Nha Trang because we heard they were great with sea food. So we ordered salt and pepper shrimps, and spring rolls. it was delicious and plenty of food for my daughter and myself. the waiter was friendly, he even gave my daughter a drawing he had made. we also liked the fact that it deosn t feel like a tourist restaurant. It is full of locals. great value for delicious food.

friendly, fast service. food was delicious and comparable with what i am use to in melbourne ,richmond, which i consider to be of a good standard. ordered 3 entrees and 4 mains with steamed rice, 3 beers and 3 sprites, total bill $80.00. not inc tip. best meal so far in NYC

I absolutely would not have eaten here without the endorsement of Trip Advisor, and I'm really glad I did. Vietnamese food can be spotty in quality, but this place has wonderful food at reasonable prices. Their specialty is the national dish Pho (pronounced "Fa"), and it comes in a multitude of varieties. I recommend the pork chop Pho: it comes with 2-3 marinated pork slices that have been fried to a lip-smacking greasy delight. No, this isn't high cuisine, it's country food the way the Vietnamese like it. The casseroles are also excellent. I had the seafood casserole with rice and vegetables. It comes in a small crockery pot and has an oily deliciousness that was perfect for the chilly Winter evening we were there. The seafood was outstanding, and the vegetables were firm and crunchy despite cooking in the hot rice base.

I am a born-and-raised native New Yorker and this is in my top 5. The beef cubes over fried rice is the best lunch/dinner meal. If you're in Chinatown you must go. Incredibly fasts service and CHEAP! But not in quality.

We ate at this busy restaurant in Chinatown after strolling through Lower Manhattan and were delighted, both with the varied menu and the very reasonable prices. Having just returned from a trip to Vietnam 6 months ago, we can confirm that the flavours here are authentic.

Decor is fine, and after the quite noise Canal Stree, the restaurant is located in a quiter Street. Food was good and tasty, and the service was fine and polite. We had Spring Rolls as starter, and Chicken Lemmon Grass and Shrimps on a a green Salad too. Both main dishes were delicately seasoned. Very much to our liking. In total the bill reached 33$ with some change. Not too costly for a lunch for two. Recommend it.

Yes, I've been going to Nha Trang for some 25 years and I just Love it. My ex - girlfriend and I used to eat there almost evey Sunday for 3 years. There PHO is awesome, as is all the rest of the dishes. Most Popular are the PHO # 1, Shrimp Summer Rolls, Spring Rolls, BBQed Pork Chops, and Shrimp with Special Sauce is what my girlfriend Dante got every Sunday. The prices are great too. The Pho is just $7.50 and is a whole meal in itself. It was just $4.50 when I first started going there. Love it.

Walking down in Chinatown me and my wife decided to stop for different flavor of food. We found this place and I heard about the pho soups. The soup was so delicious that my little son ended up eating it. Then we order appetizers and pork chops. Everything was delicious. I would recommend this place to everyone who likes to try Vietnamese cuisine.

We arrived in New York and walked to Chinatown from hotel. We were starving and we had read good reviews of tgis restaurant. I had a vegetable dish made of tofu, mushrooms and okra in a lemongrass brown sauce. My husband had the combo vermicelli bowl. Both dishes had great flavor. Wished we had ordered the spring rolls which are the traditional Vietnamese way of eating spring rolls - it comes with lettuce, mint, and fish sauce. Will come back and try other dishes.

Did not enjoy the food here at all. Perhaps Vietnamese food is different in America.....nothing like i am used to enjoying in Europe. Food much like standard Chinese.

The shrimp with little salt and pepper is absolutely delicious. You will find fresh jumbo shrimps with fresh lettuce and onions, Their spring rolls are pretty good too. They have great pho soups. So many dishes to enjoy. Their amazing vietnamese white rice compliments all dishes. Now they have outdoor seating. Andy, the manger is friendly and hospitable. His staff are also very friendly. When visiting China town you must try Nha Trang One!

Went on a weekday night. Wasn't too crowded. Food came very quickly and service was pleasant. Had the beef pho and rice vermicelli. Both were average and not exceptional.

My roommate wanted a BIG BOWL of PHO. And for $6 we both got the same: Pho Dac Biet. According to the description, it is a special rice noodles soup with beef brisket, eye round, tendon & omoza in a large bowl. It came accompanied with fresh basil and bean sprouts. For a first time Pho-eater, I thought it was quite good. My roommate, a Pho-connoisseur, said it was comparably good to other Pho he had eaten, although he wished the portion was bigger. The service was fast and friendly and I might even have bumped it up another half star was it not for the impatient waiter who returned within 10 seconds of handing us the menu to see if we were ready to order. But all in all, I will definitely return to try other items on their menu.

the best calamari, quick and cheap!

This place is great; quick, friendly waitstaff, very flavorful and well prepared food. If you need a warm meal and have 20/30 minutes it's worth trying.

The lunch set comes with two spring rolls not one, ate b4 I remembered to take the picture. Arguably the best pho in the world. Always like to order the clear noodles with special beef. A must try in NYC

I thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. I was introduced to Pho for the first time at the legendary Pho 2000 in Saigon, Vietnam back in 2001, and this place is comparable. It's not fancy or even particularly attractive, but the staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. They're all from Vietnam, including the cooks which speaks to the authenticity of the food here. I had the chicken pho and it was delicious - tangy broth, fresh veggies & garnish....You will not go wrong here if you're looking for great, inexpensive Vietnamese food! Here's my video that gives a feel for the place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xF5ka7YOnIk&list=UUo5EClctJG-rIAGPB1l_pFA

Quick eats

This was our first experience with Vietnamese food. My husband has been wanting to try Pho for quite some time now. The portion was plentiful, flavor ok but just wish it had been hotter. It was barely luke warm. My son loved the spring rolls and his steak and rice and my shrimp and rice had great flavor. The iced Vietnamese coffee was a nice treat. Overall for the price it was a good deal.

Just happened across this place on a Saturday night. Very good food (a few Oriental folk also dining), super service & great prices - 4 drinks, 4 starters & 4 mains for 102USD before the tip. A very pleasant surprise.

Dropped in for lunch today and had the special beef and noodle dish. It was $10.95 and included a soft drink and 2 spring rolls. It was very good. My wife had the won ton soup. It was ok but not great. Lots of won tons and noodles but the broth had a bit of a fishy taste and this is not typical of a won ton soup which is usually chicken broth based. I would go back but would not have the soup. Service was good but some communication challenges. Nice and clean inside and air conditioning worked great which was fantastic as it was a very hot and muggy day.

Worst service in ChinaTown NYC. Ordered two dishes and politely asked the chicken be cooked extra long and dry; also ordered a vegetables dish. Chicken dish was served a few minutes later- suggesting they had no intention of cooking the chicken extra long. Instead, we had to wait for the vegetable dish. Huh? That’s just ass-backwards. The food presented was not great: I’ve eaten at over 100 different Chinatown restaurants over the last 30 years, and this was amongst the LEAST good taste. But then .. it went from bad to worse: they brought the check: the prices charged were higher than the prices shown on the menu. Easy enough to fix, right? NOPE, they would not correct the price charged. Of course, this was not the first time a restaurant has goofed a bill, BUT this IS the first time a restaurant EVER has repeated the error- they said they’d raised their prices. And when pressed to simply “do the right thing and charge the price shown on the menu”, they agreed to lower the bill $1. WTH?! At that point, I walked out and asked my friend to finalize the bill with the owner. Insulting a customer is NOT hospitality. Friends, when you visit NYC, my beloved hometown, choose a different place - serving fresher hotter tastier meals and pricing pleasant service- you have dozens of better choices nearby.

Food was good but nothing exiting nor special. Had the fresh spring rolls which lack the herbal freshness I tasted elsewhere and the chicken in (yellow) curry which I hoped was a little spicer. Good value for the price.

The place is generally crowded, not only with "foreigners," but also with local Vietnamese. The food is tasty and well cooked, and the service is efficient. Prices are very reasonable.

Had a great night here with friends in July. Waiter was funny and helpful - we had vague descriptions of what we wanted and he made it happen. Laid-back atmosphere - small and big groups all eating and chatting away. Don't miss the BBQ pork it is absolutely fantastic. Pho was pretty good too.

Found this place on a solo trip about 3 years ago and finally got a chance to take the new GF to this place over the weekend. We had the beef cubes over rice and it was fantastic. Probably the best meal in the five days we were there. Service was quick friendly and spot on. We will definitely be back and hopefully a lot quicker. This place is a hidden gem.

Nha Trang is a place that I consistently recommend to friends and love to go to. It's also a rare value in New York and Downtown more specifically. For us go to dishes are the BBQ beef with vermicelli, crispy squid, spring rolls (with fresh lettuce, mint and cucumber for wrapping) and any of the pho. It's also a refreshing cross section of NYC - locals, tourists, people stuck in court nearby, of all races and means. Never been disappointed.

Love this Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. I always get the squid which has the right texture and flavor. The bun is also very tasty. Service is fast and prices very reasonable. No frills atmosphere, but the food is delicious. Near the Canal St. subway station.

This is a must visit each time that I am in New York. I love their vegan choices with the special herbs and spices. Love to take friends and family there.

We live in Oklahoma, and this place was recommended by a friend. It did not disappoint!! Husband said it reminded him of his trip to Vietnam. Very authentic food, fast, friendly service. We will come back!!

Stopped to have lunch here today. I have eaten Vietnamese food all over the world and liked it. This was the worst. Had two basic Vietnamese dishes; pork chop on rice and beef with noodles soup. Both were terrible. Pork chop skinny and hard as beef jerky and beef dry as chewing gum. Waiter a real stick of wood. Stay away.

My "go to" place for vietnamese standards when I'm in the area, it's been a few years since I've been last. Nothing has changed. The food still comes out around a femtosecond after you order it, it's still delicious, the portions are still (too!) huge, and the staff is friendly as always. And yeah, don't be fooled by the "lunch menu" section of the menu - you can get the same items for dinner too 😋

I'm here all the time!! This is a "hole in the wall" kinda joint. It's not classy but if your looking for good cheap tasty food, you MUST come here! BBQ grilled pork with vermicelli, pho, rice crepes with meat, viet coffee, avocado shake- it's all amazing! I promise you'll enjoy it.

We have been here at least 50 times, I always forget to write a review. Best Vietnamese in Chinatown, no reason to try another place. We have never had a bad meal or experience here. Atmosphere is nothing to speak of - typical Chinatown. Very clean. Service is attentive, they want you in and out quickly to turn the tables - but they don't rush you and are never rude. Love this place and will continue to return.

We had lunch here in the center of Chinatown. We both ordered combination of beef pho, which was very big size. We shared pork chop dish. Enough portion for two. Staffs were nice, friendly, and not add tip on the receipt...unlike some other restaurant in the Chinatown. Less than $30 for two, including tax&tip.not bad.

The Pho soup was excellent but a little small It was cheap and delicious. A great stop on a cold Saturday in December. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good Vietnamese Pho and spring rolls. Service was also very accommodating.

My first time in 1993. Same owner, an old Vietnamese guy 83 years old, the same staff. It's more like a canteen/fast food where you can eat alone. The food is so good and so cheap, but very good quality. Pork BBQ chop, chicken soup pho or beef rolls BBQ are my favorite. When it's very cold outside in NY and you have a great pho soup. Yummy. I forgot the garlic shrimps are FANTASTIC.

We stopped for a rather late lunch after visiting the One World Observatory and shopping Chinatown. We just ordered a stir fry type dish, my wife ordered it with white rice and I ordered noodles. Both meals were nice portions and when we added some of the hot pepper sauce on the table were spiced just right. Without the sauce I would have been disappointed but as it was I was very pleased. I ordered my meal with pork and my wife selected the chicken. Nothing outstanding but the meal was rather good. My wife is Asian so the waiter kind of made a big deal of us (it was not a busy time of the day) so we had a fun time with him which just makes eating out more fun when you get to deal with happy people. I think I would return here just to jole with the waiter and the cashier. I do not think you will be disappointed.

Great pho! The broth is very rich and the broth is not too oily. Overall I enjoyed the pho. This place is also clean and I ordered their spring rolls it also tasted very good. This place seems busy in the afternoon! It was packed when I came in the afternoon.

Good food consistently, big portions. This was recommended to us by a friend who lived in NYC, and we have been multiple times on different trips. The food is always good. Recommend trying the lemon fizzy soda. One of our favorites. My daughter (age 10) was sold with the first drink.

we love vietnamese food and this restaurant doesn’t disappoint. it is located in chinatown and pretty close to a subway station. we enjoyed what we ordered. food is great, price is reasonable and service is good. overall it’s great place to enjoy some authentic vietnamese food.

My sister and I happened on this place but it is a true gem! Great food!!! FANTASTIC STAFF!!! They answer questions about the menu and will give recommendations!!!

This hit the spot for Vietnamese food while we were visiting from NC. The staff was very accommodating, too, as it was my daughter's 11th birthday. They turned off the lights, put on some cheesy disco version of happy birthday to you and brought her a coconut cream concoction with a candle it. The whole place was clapping and trying to get her to get up and dance to the disco music that came on after the happy birthday part was over, but of course she would have no part of it. I love the watercress salad, the hollow vegetables and the bbq pork. The pho wasn't anything out of this world but it worked.

I have been frequenting this restaurant for more than 15 years. I am VN-born and have had fantastic home-cooked Vietnamese meals all my life. This restaurant meets my and my family's standards. Come here for the pho, come back for com thit nuong, bun bo nuong, cha gio, and just about any other dish they make. Writing this is making me hungry. May have to jet downtown for lunch!

Awesome cuisine, but service needs a little work.

We eat in authentic Asian restaurants a lot, and I never expect great service because that's just not in the Asian culture. But the service at Nha Trang One was the worst I've ever had. The ravioli appetizer was good. The Pho was "barebones" but was not bad. The two other dishes were ok. After our meal my wife wanted coffee but they just brought the bill. That's ok, but while looking at the bill I noticed one plate was charged 50 cents more than the menu price. So I asked for a menu to make sure I didn't make a mistake. I didn't. So I asked about it and they said "that's the old menu, new menu is $6.50" and walked away before I could say anything yet alone order our coffee. I've never been in a restaurant where they can just charge you whatever price regardless of what's on the menu. What's odd is that of all our dishes this one was the only one that was incorrect. I gave up on the 50 cents and the coffee and we left without paying any tip. I always tip at least 15% or more but I just didn't feel these guys provided any service whatsoever other than putting our plates on table and taking them off as soon as possible, even before we were done finished with them. It was obvious they just wanted people in and out as fast as possible. Then the guy had the nerve to come to the door and say that the tip wasn't included. I said I wasn't happy with the service and I didn't want to leave a tip and he asked why and I said because you overcharged us for our plate. And we left. I cannot remember the last time I didn't leave at least a few bucks. Next time we want vietnamese we'll try one of the other restaurants in the area. In summary the food was average but service poor and we won't go back.

Very interesting Vietnamese restaurant. We had for 30$ USD for 3 people and we got our belly full. The service was quick and effective. I funky recommand if you want to eat cheap and good at NY.

My friends and I stumbled upon this restaurant, while walking around Chinatown. The place was packed and that grabbed our attention. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu variety and by the comfortable prices. I selected the fresh calamari in a subtle but exquisite lemongrass and ginger sauce with a bit of hot spices, and it was delicious. I’ve added this restaurant to my list of NYC favorites.

Every time I visit New York I make my way down to Baxter Street to have phó at Nha Trang One. My first visit was over 20 years ago and they still have pretty much the same wait staff, the decor is just the same and the menu has not changed. No need for that when the food is this good for this little money. Authentic experience.

had a decent inexpensive meal there. Not as good as the original Nha Trang, but it's affordable and close to the courts, so good for jury duty lunches.

I really like Nha Trang, been coming for years, and the staff are super friendly. The prices are low and the portions are big. It's simple food, nothing fancy, great for cold days.

We can here very late, expecting everything to be open late in China Town as it is in London but this was the only place open. They were pretty blunt in their service, giving us two minutes to order but this was fair enough given they were due to close. The food came quickly and was obviously freshly cooked, it was all delicious. When we got the bill it was excellent value, the cheapest meal we had in NYC and one of the best. If we came back to New York if definitely like to go back and enjoy the menu more fully.

We loved their PHO soup and spring rolls , excellent special for the rainy day in New York , we were seated promptly and loved all that was served , nice place , good ambiance too

We've been coming here since our son was a baby. We had, like countless other parents tried to go out to dinner at "fancier" restaurants, and one of us spent the meal walking around the block, and eating their takeout dinner at home later. So we ventured a east, to test out waters at a place where we wouldn't feel so badly paying $110 and in the end eating at home. This restaurant is very family friendly, and the children all sit in their seats, eat their food and don't scream. A lot of Asian clientele, students, budget diners, folks on a first date, big tables of people celebrating, after-work gangs and a few savvy tourists. Our son became addicted to their salt & pepper shrimp dish and to this day we probably have it 2 x a month. Take out, and eatign in. The wait staff have seen my son grow up, and they just ask if he wants his "regular." Salt & Pepper shrimp, extra pickles, white rice and a lemonade with no ice. I get their salmon cooked in a pot dish, spicy with vegetables. Delicious! We usually have leftovers, perfect to warm up the next day. The waiters could NOT be nicer. Its on a narrow one way street. Insider tip; We far prefer the Nha Trang One on Baxter vs its sister restaurant on Center Street. Very reasonably priced. You can ask for any dish to be spicy/less spicy. LOVE this place!

We were very surprised that Chinatown was so crowded and loaded with people pushing cheap sunglasses, purses etc. that we werent expect authentic chinese or vietnamese food. We were pleasantly surprised by Nha Trang. The restaurant was clean service, service was good and food was hot and fresh.

Get off at Canal Street(N,R) and not at Canal Street(1,2,3 or A,C,E). A little bit far from the latter two and very few people walking around there at night. Inexpensive for the taste and surely Asians can relax there with the atmosphere. There were many chinese restaurants so if you do not like Vietnamese dishes, you can go to Chinese. The right vietnamese pronunciation of the restaurant name is N with tilde(spanish) with a and chang though I do not know how americans pronounces it.

We were just walking around China Town and decided to have a lunch and stepped in. Huge and delicious soups. Spring rolls not so good. Quite dry. But the soups were delicious.

Went there after shopping on Canal Street for lunch with my family, restaurant was almost full but the service is super fast, my main plate was curry chicken and it was very good.

Authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the hearth of China Town. As soon as you step into this place, you realize their food is made from scratch. The special rice noodle soup was delicious.

Dine amongst judges, lawyers, jurors and defendants plus lots of locals. Speedy and cheap for lunch. Worth a visit to experience a classic NYC establishment. All the classics on the menu and healthy portions.

Very poor! Nothing that fresh and tasty and im not much for complaining! Service poor as usual in new york! Food poor flavour and quality

A friend and I decided to try this Vietnamese restaurant since we both hadn't eaten this cuisine in many years. We were very pleased. We split an appetizer with calamari and vegetables. We were used to an Italian style calamari preparation but we enjoyed the flavor. We each ordered a different shrimp dish. I had shrimp with Chinese black mushrooms in garlic sauce. It had an interesting taste and I'd re-order. The majority of the other patrons ordered soup or noodle bowls, so I'd try them on a subsequent visit.

New Yorkers who love Viet cuisine love Nha Trang. Wonderful menu and inexpensive. Great for families. If you want to experience a local Chinatown restaurant, this is it!

Lunch for 3 for $40, fantastic fresh Pho and friendly staff. Doesn't look like much but definitely a great place to fill you up with delicious, authentic Vietnamese

We came across this restaurant by accident, and so glad we did. My wife and i both had the crab and asparagus soup to share, which there was loads of and it was amazing. We then had two vietnamese curries which were very flavourful. We enjoyed our visit so much we re-visited - for the soup alone. The waiter recognised us as soon as we went in and automatically asked if we wanted more soup. All staff very friendly and great atmoshere. Well worth a visit ... fab food at great prices.

This restaurant looks cheap, has nothing fancy, but is quite one of the most interesting in Chinatown. The menu is long and has a variety of different dishes. It's a mix of vietnamese dishes and also chinese dishes. They have a nice Pho as well as very good vermicelli bowls. The combo one was my favourite: it has grilled meat as well as nems. I also tried a Sate Pho, which was very creamy but interesting as well. The price is very cheap, so do not expect too much service. But if you are used to Chinatown, let'say that their service is one of the best around here... And the food is very good compared to the price!!!

If you're looking for some good ole' pho, look no further! This place has it and the best customer service in Chinatown. I've tried several other vietnamese restaurants around the city, but they are overpriced and provide little quality. Nha Trang One is the opposite. They provide delicious, quality food (i enjoy other items on the menu but always come back to the pho) at the lowest cost around the town. I always bring my friends and co-workers here and I'm never disappointed. The staff is excellent, always welcoming and fast even during the busiest hours. We have regular pho fridays!

Stopped by after reading some online reviews. The food was definitely worth the trek downtown. I had a chicken curry soup (huge portion - easily enough for 2 people) and my girl had the salt and pepper shrimp (also enormous). Both dishes were outstanding and served quickly. The entire meal came to about $20 which is also great! We'll definitely head back one of these days, but we're also keen to try out some of the other Vietnamese places in the area. There seems to be heaps of them!

You don't come here for the decor. You come for the tasty food. The decor is well...nothing - mirrored walls and plain wood paneling. Christmas lights 'adorn' the ceiling. Tables are squeezed in the long and narrow space. Service is fine. Not great. Not bad. One app came out first, then an entree, then the other app and the other entree. But they all came out really fast - and we were really hungry - so it worked out fine. Food is awesome. The summer rolls, the shrimp on sugar cane and the beef lettuce wraps are the best apps. Very flavorful and fun to eat. FYI - these three are eaten with your hands. Dinner was the sauteed sweet and sour squid and the bbq'd pork chops. The squid was helped by a dash or two of the fish sauce on the table. The pork chops were just plain awesome. Sweet and smoky and thinly sliced. Just don't forget that rice is extra - the entrees don't come with it unless you ask. Will be back and have been for almost 15+ years.

Saw the good review from Time Out New York (Top 10 best Vietnamese Restaurant in NYC) and decided to try this restaurant. We were here during lunch time and it was packed. We waited a while to get a table. We have ordered the fried spring rolls, combination beef noodle and fried rice with beef. The beef noodle was bland and not authentic at all. Fried rice was average, not up to expectation. The fried egg rolls was average. Service was OK, nothing special. We were really disappointed by the food quality here.

Don'T expect any fancy interior! This place is authentic, simple as serves great food! It's perfect for a quick and tasty meal in between but not a place to spend your evening with your family ;-)

Vietnamese is one of my favorite ethnic foods. After reading online the high reviews for this place, we decided to check it out. It was late afternoon, 4pm so we had immediate seating. The menu had a great selection of items. We ordered the Vietnamese pork spring rolls, lemongrass chicken, beef with vegetables, and fried rice (with shrimp, chicken, pork, beef). *Side note: When I ordered the lemongrass chicken, I asked the waiter if the cook could add a couple broccoli on top. Guy seemed to get mad at me for asking and responded sharply, "NO." Then he proceeded to tell me we had to order a full serving of broccoli as a side dish. Not being in the mood to argue with the guy, I said 'fine.' All of the items came to the table at the same time. The spring rolls were very good. The lemongrass chicken was supposed to be hot & spicy, it was not. In fact it was the mildest lemongrass chicken I have ever eaten. My co-captain had the beef entrée. I did not sample it but asked him how it tasted. His response, "It's OK, nothing special." Although we ordered the garlic broccoli, it too was weak on flavor and was a bit chewy. I had to mix it in sparingly with the lemongrass chicken. The fried rice was very good though. Overall, this place serves good food and the prices are reasonable. I just wonder how it receives such high reviews online.

Met up with a friend while visiting New York and he insisted that we have lunch at this Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown. It is not a fancy joint but my friend is Vietnamese so I trust him when it comes to his country's food. Plenty of seating so we basically sat ourselves. Server was very swift and friendly. We ordered couple of appetizers, Goi cuon (summer rolls) 2 per order and Cha gio (fried spring rolls) 4 per order. Excellent flavor and well prepared. Then we each ordered Pho Dac Biet (rice noodles soup with beef brisket, eyeround, tendon & omoza). Wow..we were in for a treat! Piping hot broth, fresh noodles and hearty slices of meat. It was served in a large bowl and its enough for 2 people or just a meal itself. Thank God we planned to walk around on Broadway and shop cause we were so full and needed to digest :) Spent shy of 20 bucks for both and couldn't find any reason not to praise this joint. Take Canal station then after devouring their huge portions...walk from Broadway to Union Square to help your body digest :)

Typical look for an restaurant in Chinatown but the food is great and the people were really nice ! And the prices also, great place to eat in the morning, lunch, dinner of just all day.

A favorite of my wife and I for a long time. We went there 2 days ago, (Friday, 11/22/13) to find the place very busy but no waiting in line. We got a table very quickly and were served right away. The fish and squid were excellent as usual. We always get the squid here as it is a real winner. We also had the spring rolls and pork chops. My wife indulged in the beef noodle soup and was not disappointed. The chops were seasoned just right. Cash or credit is accepted at this hot spot. Keep up the good work!!

As I have made and given more reviews, I don't give five stars that often to restaurants and hotels since my reviews from Panama and a few other places. This restaurant however, deserves five stars. My parents have been going here since they immigrated here to America, and ever since I was old enough, took me here with them. The owner even remembers my family and our names too, which always warms my heart. The place itself is small, and considering it's pretty much near the center of Chinatown, you would be lucky to build a big supermarket there. The food arrives in about five minutes. I mean every single meal you order, unless it's Pho, then it's 10 minutes, sorry. We usually order the famous pork chops, the chicken curry, what Filipinos called Kang Kong (might have spelled that wrong sorry) spring rolls, Red Snapper, Salmon in a pot just finished and calamari. The food is amazing, and makes me so full whenever I visit. And all of the stuff I just mentioned, is just under $100! Literally a bargain in Manhattan. I recommend this place to all of my friends, so please go and enjoy!

Amazing, the shrimp fried rice tasted exactly like the fried rice from the streets of vietnam. I am dyeing to go back and have some more. Very good price and the service was great, the waiter kept the water replenished every time. My favourite place for vietnamese in this country.

Lunch for 2. $ 27, including deep fried spring rolls, vey tasty main dishes, soft drinks. You'll sit here for 45 minutes and leave the place absolutely satisfied. A little US Vietnamese, big portions, but hard to beat...

Nha Trang One has its roots in Chinatown and has been around for a while. The food is decent, especially in NYC, which seems to lack great Vietnamese options. The menu is diverse -- you can find basically everything except for sandwiches. At Nha Trang One, I'd say the spring rolls are better than the summer rolls, the pho is better than the vermicelli bowls, and the other rice and noodle plates are pretty standard.
Average restaurant
Average vet amuse restaurant. You will not go around recommending it to your friends nor commute to go there. But, if you are around you will be ok
