Early Mother's Day Dinner

By Stanley B C |

Great as usual Thanking Eni and Lee for their great help and friendship Oysters, with all the diverse toppings, are the best anywhere. Sashimi/lobster salad was perfect ,along with Kobe jalapeno. New crab dish was terrific

Great food and atmosfere; service can be better

By F A |

Food is great and atmosfere nice; service can be better for a place it his type and $$$. Asking 3-4 Times for a drink is not the standard of a 4-500$ dinner

Winter restaurant week lunch 2019

By Melanie T |

***NYC WINTER RESTAURANT WEEK 2019 LUNCH REVIEW*** They weren't accepting reservations for lunch, probably because it was at the bar/lounge area only. But our party of four walked in at around noon, and were seated immediately. The seating was a tad uncomfortable for a meal. The space seemed to be more like a grab a quick drink and leave type of space, so something to keep in mind. For $26, you will get an appetizer and an entree. For the appetizer, I went with the Nobu Cup Sushi, which is three little tea cups of sushi rice, each topped with salmon, tuna, or chef's choice (it happened to be fluke that day). The fish was fine but it wasn't anything amazing. I wasn't a huge fan of the rice under the fluke. I'm not sure what seasoning they used for that one but it tasted like a shiso leaf, which I'm not a fan of. For the entree, I had the Arctic Char with Jalapeno Dressing. The jalapeno dressing was probably the best part. Although it was spicy at all, it still had a great fresh flavor to it. The Arctic char was a bit overcooked. The portions are small (as expected) but it was surprisingly filling. For drinks, we ordered some mocktails. I had some kind of blackberry tea, which I really enjoyed. It was pretty expensive though - at $8 a pop, especially since it contains no alcohol. I'm glad I got to try Nobu but I don't think the quality is worth the price point - with or without Restaurant Week. I guess you're really coming here for the brand/image and not for the actual food.

Very eye catching and delicious

By Quick Revive Media |

Very eye catching and delicious dishes, great atmosphere in an otherwise chaotic city. Sushi is a lot fresher than I expected, only complaint is I felt sorta rushed by our server. (Big city, I get it)

Setting befitting the food

By Francois L. |

This was our second visit to this location of Nobu and everything... food, service and setting, was exquisite. We prefer the ground floor bar as we find its architecture way more enticing than the downstairs dining room.

watch what you drink

By doruk |

in side the cold sake container, there were few rust-like regions. I think the downtown Nobu does not seem to be clean and doe snot care the health of their customers.

Excellent Place Good Attention Mood Spectacular food I recommend 100% had a great time with my family thank you very much

Good atmosphere, food wasn’t great

By Carovegav |

The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, the location is beautiful, but the food was overpriced and plates were very small. We went with friends, had a great time but the food wasn’t great at all.

Ambiance and delicious food

By NickChick |

Stayed at The Millenium so this little gem was beyond convenient. Every item we ordered was fantastic. Went back second night! Love the ambiance.

Too expensive

By Antonio C |

Sweetie. All good and great service. Cool environment. But the quality does not justify the really excessive price even for New York.

Worth it!

By lax1512 |

I would highly recommend. We enjoyed the Chef's special which was 7 courses. It was exciting as each course was a new and delicious surprise. The service was outstanding. I would return again!

Style over substance

By dicky |

We all had the Bento box as recommendation. It was very ordinary This is about the location and venue not the food. Ok if you like this sort of thing.

Excellent Sushi Bar items, but disappointing kitchen...

By Fred C |

Omakase with the wine pairing was what we ordered, Chef Matsuhisa's Sushi bar was excellent, however Omakase items from the Kitchen were disappointing.

Always incredible!

By SoMuchAloha |

Still after all these years Nobu is my favorite spot to celebrate a special occasion. You can't beat the exceptional service, food, and atmosphere.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE

By amandaPANDAburr |

This was my first time at Nobu and it was awesome! I am vegetarian and love shiitake mushrooms so the chef prepared a mushroom dish for me that was out of this world! My sister loved the caviar tacos and the cheesecake was the best ever! It was a great ambiance and the waiter was accommodating. Make sure you ask questions because the menu pretty much gives zero detail. Don't leave without trying the cheesecake!!!!

Upscale Japanese

By lifeisforlearning |

Beautiful decor at this large location. Bar upstairs and fine dining downstairs. We were downstairs. Good place to have an actual conversation. Very comfortable and beautifully appointed. We were there for lunch and had the "Power Bento Box" for $70 apiece. Not inexpensive, but good. I tried a creative drink called the Black Orchid, which was just superb, and which I highly recommend.

Good food, bad waiters

By dnpsn |

Okay, this is Nobu. The famous, fancy Nobu. The decor is great, the food is really good, amazing cocktails. But the service does not match the quality. The servers ( I’ve paid attention to other tables as well, so I’m not criticising only ours) are rude, not giving enough information, and literally pushing you off the table when you are not ordering more food. I understand it is full but then again this is not an everyday experience so they must let people have their time, guide them through the menu and be polite obviously. Overall it is a nice place if u take out the waiters.

The ambiance and drinks were

By Cheryl A |

The ambiance and drinks were top notch as expected. Definitely an experience. Over priced for the portions, but you’re paying for the name and the service. Quality is definitely obvious and everything tasted wonderful.

For the quality and service not expensive

By RamSRam |

I guess sone goes to Nobu expecting to pay. We did but not out of line with the quality of food and the service. The Sancerre not often available in restaurants was superb, and the pris fixe lunch menu very affordable.

Anniversary Dinner and Thank You to Our Server!

By Prettie G |

Everyone tells us that a visit to any Nobu is a must. Well, I thought it would be a great dinner spot for our 15th year wedding anniversary. We felt a little intimidated going into this restaurant as everyone knows it is pretty high end and seafood orientated. My husband was a trooper, he doesn't really eat seafood but was okay with me making a reso at Nobu. First of, yes, it is intimidating when you first enter if you don't know much about the restaurant. People are dressed to the "tee"....however, from check in to leaving the restaurant, we had such an amazing night. It was an expensive night but amazing! Based on our resos, they knew it was our anniversary, we walked in and they greeted us with saying that. It was such a nice touch. The place was really nice, the bar and the dinner area was very welcoming. Our waitress (I wished I remembered her name), she was amazing, so down to earth. She started off listing all the best seafood items and I was skeptical in saying anything about the fact that my husband didn't like seafood but I did and she assured us that it is not a problem at all and that it is ok. The food was fantastic. The wagyu gyozas were freaking amazing. All and all we had a great experience. Thanks Nobu for making our anniversary a memorable one.

Overpriced for Sushi

By Dom P |

I am a sushi lover. Have had it in many places of the world. My son loves Nobu, but I find it overpriced and simply average. If you do not order much, I have found waiters and waitresses show distress. Just not outstanding. Miso soup worth having, and do love the caramel bananas!

It has lost it all

By EzPablo |

Look at all recent review - they say it all. I went to Nobu regardless, but it has last everything I liked it for. The bar is the worst. The bartender Alex didn't speak at all, he literally threw the drink napkins in front of us. No advice on the drinks, no flexibility with drinks beyond the rather small drink menu. It got worst: He spilled notable amounts of the cocktails when fillings the glasses. Not only didn't Alex apologize, he didn't wipe the bar and left it wet. That's beyond reasonable and way below my Nobu expectation for a $18 cocktail.

Predictable excellence

By jay f |

When you decide on Nobu, you decide on a great place with great service. Another visit and another great meal with some super specials and the normal excellent staples make this a predictable enjoyable experience. First time to the new fidi location which is larger multi level and filled with some of the same great people. Always good and knowing the menu well, recommend trying the specials!

Beautiful but menu not for us.

By CSNRWhite |

Beautiful location and great ambiance! However, limited menu, mediocre food, and high price points. The $10 tacos are too small for the price and bland taste. The lobster tempura was extremely tough to chew to a point that I wasn’t comfortable swallowing it (but the combination of jalapeño , cilantro, and, sauce was good) and the chicken satay was just ok, no fireworks. In addition to this factors my husband couldn’t eat anything on the menu because he had a soy allergy. Nobu may be for you but not for us!

Elegance, Ahi Tuna Tartare to remember.

By Isabelle M |

Elegance, a Ahi Tuna Tartare to remember. Phenomenal sushi. The miso soup was probably the best I have ever had. The decor is stunning as you can see in pictures I've added

I must disagree... it does dissapoint

By devicentem |

After trying Nobu in Budapest and London and spending over 500$ per dinner we decided to slurge and try to NYC establishment. I have to say: unfortunately we will not be looking into trying more. Budapest really hooked us; up to the point that my 6 year old declared it his favourite restaurant in the world :-) which was fun at the time. New York dissapointed us and we will not be back. I admire Mr Matsushita for the brand he has created but this restaurante did nothing to impress us; for an over 500$ tab.

Maybe visit every Nobu?

By James R |

Enjoyed The tuna tacos, fresh tasty- service great, décor outstanding - the right lighting and that is not easy.

Nobu Downtown NYC

By Mrsmule2019 |

The most mouth watering, scrumptious sushi that you will ever eat. Pricey, but it's well worth it. Every item on the menu arrives in a flair of breathtaking beauty. This is the restaurant where you go to try something you've never eaten before because you know it's prepared perfectly. If you don't like it here, you don't like it.

Take your money elsewhere

By Tural A |

Service was okay but the waiter kept pushing the wagu steak on us which I felt pressured to take especially on a date on valentines. Portions are tiny and prices are huge. Food was bland not seasoned with no taste. Bathroom has ice cold water and no warm water to wash hands. I hate when you order dessert and coffee and they bring you coffee first and 10 minutes later the dessert. Coffee gets cold by the time dessert comes. Idiots with no common sense. Bring it all together at the same time.

Fabulous, worth the $ and experience! Just go.

By donnaks |

Was dying to try Nobu and it didnt disappoint. The whole experience was fabulous…food..service…ambience. Interesting drinks and different takes on amazing sushi dishes. Ultra fresh sushi and it was an ultra clean sushi bar. You cant take the $ with you when you go so spend the big bucks on dinner and drinks, get the amazing baked Alaska at the end, and go home and be happy.

Do it!

By Angus D |

Absolutely beautiful food and fantastic service. Highly recommend. Not cheap but walked away feeling like it was totally worth it.

Overrated

By rp1510 |

I thought the food was great but the service was TERRIBLE. Over my 10 day visit to New York, I ate in at least 10 different sushi restaurants and while the food at Nobu Downtown made it to the top 3, their service was the worst. Really was not expecting this from the famous Nobu. I've actually been to some of the other Nobu's around the world and have always come home feeling elated. This one was the exception. My recommendation: Just go to the many sushi places New York has that are much better!

Rey disappointed

By peconyc13 |

Went for a family dinner and was really disappointed. The days when it was located in TriBeCa and the chef really cared what came out are gone. Too much completion to ever go back. We ordered the tomahawk steak $180 and it smelled and truly believe they gave us bad meat. When I tell you it smelt like dirty feet it’s an understatement. I’ve never in my life had a steak that smelt and tasted the way this one did. I just don’t get it. This was one of my favorite restaurants that was so hard to get into. I guess that’s why it was so easy to get a reservation on open table. Very sad......:

The Best!

By MP93 |

Everyone says the Nobu in Malibu is the best Nobu, but I disagree. The service here and the quality is through the roof. This is y far my favorite Nobu. I recommend the Baby corn app, the yellow tail and spicy tuna with crunchy rice, the entrees that are a must are he sea bass and Wagyu. I’ve also tried the Wagyu Dumplings and they’re to die for. Everything off the menu is awesome! Highly recommend!

Great name, great place

By Steve R |

Down in the Financial District so not too easy to get to or other things going on after business hours. The restaurant has a great reputation and for good reason. The food is fantastic. Make sure you have money in the wallet as it's not cheap. But it's dress nicely, classy and tasty.

Great Experience

By Dayana C |

The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. The food had such flavor and the drink were amazing.

Stunning!

A classic in NYC, wonderful experience with the soft shell crab and the black cod. Worthwhile visiting as always.

Great Japanese Food

By HolgBarb W |

As always very delicious!! We loved it ! Nice and friendly waiters. Very nice interior and whether you sit at the upper or lower level - both very good style !

Not as cool as we thought...

All girls trip to NYC and wanted to have the experience of Nobu, service was ok, food was very good, overall, not sure if I will ever be back...

ORGASMIC

By Gil S |

I can't help but marvel that EVERY TIME THE FOOD IS ALWAYS THE SAME PERFECT AND I LOVE THAT THERE ARE ALWAYS SPECIALS THAT ARE SPECTACULAR. IT'S NICE TO TRY DIFFERENT DISHES AND NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED. THANKS AGAIN FOR KEEPING YOUR QUALITY, SERVICE AND WAIT STAFF THE SAME AS THE LAST VISIT PERFECT. SINCERELY GIL SHAPIRO 917 359 4286

Upscale Date Night

By Jordan O |

Made reservations for a Sunday evening after reading many positive reviews. We weren’t disappointed. The server explained the menu is approached like tapas. Multiple dishes for sharing. We selected 6 which ended up being too many for the 2 of us. We started with the shisitos and edamame which were good. They included some eggplant chips which we liked too. The rock shrimp with spicy creamy were awesome! For a fried dish, it didn’t feel terribly heavy. We had the lobster which was the most expensive. The fish with the cilantro lime sauce was delicious. Fish was delicate and the sauce was so good! It had a good smoked flavor but was overall too salty. We wouldn’t get that again. By the time the king crab roll arrived we were pretty full but put it down anyhow. The meat is sweet. I had the Mia margarita which had a bit too much orange flavor for my taste. Wait staff was attentive. Atmosphere was relaxed and classy. It was overall a nice evening and we enjoyed the food and service. It was quite pricey, however. We’d go back for a special occasion.

Worst experience in NY

By Flavia D |

The service was really bad, small portions, they want to kick you out of the restaurant as soon as possible. I was served dessert while still eating the main course.

Dreaming of the crispy rice with tuna

By Nancy P |

Excellent food, as always...yellowtail with jalapeno, crispy rice with tuna, creamy shrimp....yum! Attentive staff and lovely room. Not to be missed! One of my favorite restaurants in NYC.

Great food but not great service.

By Marta A |

The food was great; however, worth the pice? Not sure. Also, my impression about the waitress was that she wanted us to be finished fast and clear the table for the next seating. And give her a tip - yeah, I know their wages are terrible without tips, but there should be some limits.

The Best Sushi

By Glenn F |

I eat sushi once a week. By far, Nobu Downtown was best sushi ever. We ate at the sushi bar and the service was outstanding. The sushi Chef created some special dishes that were out of this world.

Excellent lunch for a celebration

By Brooklynite_Abroad |

With a convenient location to City Hall, we decided to enjoy a celebratory lunch here, following our nuptials. We booked a month out and the restaurant could handle our large party of ten. They can actually accommodate groups as large as twelve people. All the staples of the Nobu menu once again impressed. The tacos are amazing as is the yellow-tail sashimi. We ordered the warm mushrooms, the miso cod, the truffled Wagyu steak, the snow crab tempura. All were incredible. The miso cod was twice the size of the portions of this dish at other Nobu locations we’ve tried. The drinks were delicious and inventive. We pre-ordered a pineapple, coconut, white sesame cake which was tastefully adorned with flowers and truly delicious. This is a pricey spot but worth it for a special occasion. Service here is impeccable.

Horrible experience

By Emily S |

We were rudely rushed the entire time from the moment we sat down. It was highly unpleasant and uncomfortable. They should not take reservations close to closing time if they are going to rudely rush people out the door. It ruined our entire dinner. We had to ask for water refills constantly and flag down the server because we were rarely checked on. We asked to speak to a manager and she was very nonchalant, snarky and unpleasant. Very disappointing experience

Got to go

By beeps2 |

Yes it is overpriced, but great experience. The sushi is not worth the price and can get better elsewhere. Rest of the food is good. Great presentation on everything. It’s an experience.

Terrible customer service

By Keisha D |

I want to Preface this review by saying the customer service upstairs (bar area) was nothing short of top notch! As far as the restaurant area (downstairs) our experience was rather unpleasant. We were seated for 10 minutes before the waiter KEVIN decided to show up . He never greeted us and tried to avoid coming over for 10 mins while talking to other patrons . Once at our table he stated “you have questions?” My Finance and I looked up to see him standing off to the side . We tried to inquire about several dishes he had no interest in explaining , rushed us actually to order. And when we asked for a specific sauce he insulted us with a sarcastic response. My food came out first I practically finished my food before my finances food arrived he never came back to check on us. Fast forward a couple sat right behind us at 930pm Kevin showed up at 932 greeted said couple announced the specials even told them his favorites to top it off he suggested he will talk to the chef on his behalf. It was just very disturbing. Needless to say we were the only Black couple in the section . It’s just very sad in today’s society that these people are allowed to work in customer service positions without consequences for their actions. We are regulars at the other Nobu locations and expected top notch service at the Downtown restaurant. We will not be returning and will definitely spread the word about the blatant racial discrimination from Kevin.

Overrated!

By Marianmarshall |

I find Nobu Downtown SO overrated! We came with much expectation. And it is noisy, the service lacks of attention, we had reservations for 9pm and when we arrived they told us that our table wasn’t ready, what?? We waited for 20 more minutes. Unbelievable . The food is ok but nothing is outstanding, we had a very nice white wine though. Just go to the many sushi places New York has that are much better! Encontré a Nobu Downtown MUY sobrevalorado.

Last dinner in NY

By PATRICIA M |

I went with my husband because a friend recommended it, it's close to Central Park. Modern atmosphere, delicious food (minus the sunomono). Ok service and high price for us Brazilians, but it's worth visiting. If you can, book in advance!

Extremely Disappointing... This location is riding on fumes

By Eric W |

The name says Nobu but it's like the kitchen and service staff have just given up. We were kept waiting 10-15 minutes past our reservation for seemingly no reason... there were plenty of open tables. It took forever for a server to appear and when it appeared they were presenting us with a complimentary starter dish for the table, they came back and whisked it away without a word just as I was about to put my fork in it.. they had the wrong table! But the biggest problem was the food. Other than the sushi being fresh all of the signature dishes and more inventive items were bland and tired. This has evolved into an above average restaurant with apathetic staff and exorbitant prices. A total waste of time and money.

Nobu

By Jose G |

It is a spectacular place, good food and good atmosphere, the staff is very helpful. It is a place that is worth visiting.

Love the food

By Marika S |

Great dinner. Good service and vibe but above all good food Only thing that pulls down was high noise Rock shrimp is a must, so good

Dinner and drink

By David L |

Anniversary dinner with my wife, Brian our server was fantastic. Everything from start to finish was amazing ! Definitely not the cheapest meal we’ve had but 100% worth the price

Nobu-order off the menu- be bold!!!

By VixenAdventure |

Having island hopped to live the last years, I am now a mermaid living on Wall Street and this is my new go to sashimi / sushi place downtown...and the reason why??? you ask,,,, is to order off the menu and have my sashimi customized for my taste!! The sushi chefs are ahhhhmazzziinnngggggg!! fastastic taste bud delights and the combinations are endless based on the freshest selections and fruits/ tasty add ons!!! radish, plumbs you name it and the less you try to control the outcome the better the taste extravaganza!!! or if you want to be boring and order the spicy tuna roll off the menu that is great, too!!! enjoy))

Wall Street Nobu

By AJAX6965 |

Amazingly delicious food at Nobu. We had the shrimp tempura and the chicken udon, both fine but we couldn’t finish either. A lovely space, not noisy but not full either. Excellent service, will return again and again.

Nobu Amazing!

By Sandra M |

Amazing job with everything from seating to the excellent food. We sat at the high tables, the staff was very Covid conscious. The food was absolutely fantastic, I highly recommend the Wagyu dumplings. Everyone was friendly-we missed it and were so happy to be back. I love all Nobu locations but Nobu downtown has the best ambiance.

Sushi dreamin'

By MN J |

Fantastic sushi. Well presented and tasted delicious - it had me thinking about it for a couple of days after so it must have been good! Clean and fresh, it made the whole table quiet for a whole 30 seconds it tasted that good! The shrimp tempura was also brilliant. We sat on the ground 'bar' level. This was nice - great atmosphere and not as stuffy as downstairs looked. Although, for a super special occasion I think downstairs would suit better. The building and decor is lovely - looks like an old converted bank and has a 'wow' appeal. I'd recommend this place for special occasions - it's quite pricey but worth every penny!

Exquisite dishes in elegant setting

By jstaines72 |

We love Nobu restaurants, but this Nobu Downtown was amazing. We had a fabulous dinner. Please see photos.

Ok

By sis1970 |

The food and service were ok... nothing compared to what it used to be. Quality of fish not different than other sushi restaurants in town. Good seating area outside. Expected more ...

Stick with the things Nobu is known for.

By Diana M |

Stick with what Nobu is know for...Miso Cod, Fried Rice with Spicy Tuna, Sushi/Sashimi, avoid the rolls. They are very basic and not worth the price. Service was great. Very knowledgable about allergies and confirmed every meal that came out and whether or not a member of our party could safely eat it.

Not Authentic Japanese or Peruvian

By 360views |

Start with the good:The jalapeño hamachi was wonderful! And there was a daily special dessert with whiskey cardamom espresso that was excellent too. The sashimi was decent, and it is nice to have seafood from Japan. The miso cod was moist but extremely sweet, and the shishito peppers slathered in same sweet sauce - so suppose this flavour wasn’t to our taste. The tacos are cute but underwhelming in terms of flavour. Most disappointing was the lobster salad - the shiitakes were rubbery and only a few grilled to the point where they were flavourful. Similar, the lobster was generously portioned but low in flavour. The drinks were quite sweet too. The decor in the lower level was a bit garish, but the upper room is quite pleasant. We were prepared for the prices, but simply felt the food did not match the cost or the hype. In our opinion, consider other options or order very selectively.

Delicious Eats at Nobu Downtown

By Troy W |

This is a serious destination spot for anyone who is serious about experiencing fine asian fusion dining at its finest. Although the price points for the dishes veer towards the high side the food and the service are well worth it. Nobu has a "cold" and "hot" menu and is designed around serving small plated dishes for the most part. Thus this restaurant encourages sharing. Sharing is caring because the vegetarian based dishes my partner ordered were actually extremely tasty to this meat n potatoes palate! We also shared a lobster in black bean dish that was to die for. We ended our fantastic meal with two fantastic desserts. For special occassions, beautiful and refined decor combined with superlative service and food you just can't beat Nobu Downtown.

Excellent as usual

By edlr4ma |

Just a wonderful experience. From making reservations, to the greeting to the service and food. The dishes are truly genius and many places have tried imitating, but no one has ever come close. For us it is like a tasting, we usually get at least 12 dishes. Never have been disappointed when we try specials.

Heartbreakingly bad night.

By Susan S |

This has been our favorite restaurant for many years, especially for special occasions. The Wall Street version was never as intimate as the original Tribeca place but the food and service used to be excellent. Unfortunately last weekend for a very special celebration with out of town family, they blew it big time. They screwed up our reservation -after I'd confirmed it 3 times and bizarrely blamed me for their blatant mistake. Thus they could only seat us upstairs where they blast loud music and wouldn't turn the music down, despite our asking nicely 3 times. Most of the food came a half hour before my appetizer and main course were brought out at the same time. My favorite dish, creamy spicy crab, was priced higher and shrunk to 1/4 of its usual size. Was this all because the service and food is better downstairs, where we made our reservation for? So disappointed. I wouldn't have left any tip but my husband said don't blame the waiters for the errors of management and reservation people. For the exorbitant prices, we don't think we'll be going back.

5 stars for food...absolutely spectacular. 5 stars for service.

By Guide164471 |

Nobu Downtown is excellent. Yes, it is very expensive but I think it would be worth the splurge for a special occasion or when you really need to impress someone. Worth paying every cent. The space is amazing. The New York location is gorgeous and located in the Financial District. Overall, I love Nobu! Great way to end the meal with Happy Aniversary to my lovely cousin Natalie Boquin & Daniel Jimenez at Nobu Downtown at 195 Broadway, NY.

Christmas in the USA

By Mario |

Nobu is a place where You can find an excellent fusion between japanese and peruvian cuisine. The restaurant is located inside an hold building close to World trade center. There a bar &lounge at the entrance while the restaurant is dowstairs. Food is of course excellent !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too expensive sushi

By 639dentist |

This place is nice , way expensive drinks and food, we ordered drinks and each drink is filled with full of ice , hardly liquor , tastes very light just like water, most of the main courses are way too too expensive, food is average tasty, best is the deserts, caramel banana with ice cream is the best

Still great, but not outstanding!

By Robert N |

Way back in 2000 I went to old Nobu a few times, and it was a fantastic experience! Coming back now to the new location and choosing the Omakase, I expected to be dazzled. It was still very very good, and I enjoyed it, but the full experience wasn't 5 out of 5. Maybe it's in comparison to the fairly steep prize or the ambience and other guests, but just that this time around, it wasn't magical anymore.

Overall excellent experience

By HO1964 |

Incredible food filled with amazing creativity and quality, as well (again) with a fantastic level of service. Everyone in our family was impressed with the anticipation of needs, and going the extra mile in every single detail. Outstanding ambiance, decoration and music.

Amazing!

By Charles S |

One of the best places we’ve dined at! Premium food, amazing staff, great drinks! Their design award is well-deserved. If you’re considering and are not sure, go for it, you won’t regret it.

More please

By Foddiefromhell |

Horrible. Just kidding. The place is insane! Yes it’s to expensive but that is life if you want the best of the best. We felt the service was a little rushed but no big deal

A cut above

By Lori L |

Although a little late for the Sunday brunch, they accommodated us and we chose the prix fixe menu. We were so glad we did because we sampled items we would not have chosen. There was an amazing charred edamame and Peruvian corn salad that was as addictive as popcorn. Although not generally fans of fish tacos, the lobster taco was a perfect blend of flavors. The yellowtail shashimi was amazing nestled in a light sauce. It melted in your mouth and made other sushi that I have eaten pale by comparison. Definitely stop in and be open to suggestions from staff and new taste combinations!

Definitely a great couples experience

By Laura P |

Great food and service in a vibrant setting. Great food suggestions by our waiter and lots of attention throughout the meal but not at all intrusive.

Could not be better

By rhmejia |

NY at its best. Building is a landmark (if not, should be ...jijiji). Bar is nice and restaurant cozy and delicious. Tiraditos, Cod and Octopus.

Great Experience

By Frankinodie |

I got carried away by the delicious recommendations of chef Orlando, he is a man who could read my tastes, very professional and friendly, his kitchen is full of flavors with a great delicacy, the waitress Laurene was very kind and attentive, a just moment and personalized, perfect, thank you very much

Not what it used to be...

By PeterRoth |

Nobu has moved locations once or twice in nyc, my wife and I have always been big fans and whenever we come into the city for emile, I always try to make a reservation here. However, on my last couple of visits, it seems not to be anymore what it once was in terms of atmosphere. Although the food remains consistently amazing, maybe the best sushi ever, the ambience is not what it once was.

Still the Best

By MBW |

I’ve been going to Nobu since the original opened and it has been that consistent over the decades still the best!!!!!!!

Horrible service

By Resort33773107229 |

Service was horrible. Dont bring gour guests to this location! The worth of all their locations. Such a strange combination of good food and bad service(((((((((((

Birthday or Bucket list treats

By Ann P |

Pros: service, quality of the food and presentation. There is something to be said when the servers are down to earth, professional but unpretentious- especially in what I believe is a five star restaurant. The menu is an experience for the pallet with unique combinations of flavors that make you say yum- a lot. When an item is brought to the table it comes with suggestions from the chef on how to eat it in order to appreciate the experience. And it works. Only Con is ( and it made no sense to subtract a star for it) the price points -but I get it- you are paying for the experience and it’s worth it. Can’t say that about too many places. If only once in this life, treat yourself for the bucket list.

A gem

My first Japanese restaurant experience and it was perfect, with a wide range of high-quality food served by excellent attentive staff. A must on the New York restaurant itinerary. I will definitely be back.

Awesome sashimi; not HC accessible

By OldGuyWanderz |

This was possibly best sashimi I've had, including compared to Yellowfin I caught and ate fresh. Octopus was very good as well. However, Nobu us NOT handicap accessible. The wheelchair lift is at a sealed door, and not operational. Bad form indeed. So, Nobu gets a FIVE for fish quality and ZERO for being effectively unaccessible to mobility impaired.

Took advantage of my son

By lovetotravel1091 |

Employees server “ENY” took advantage of my son last night. He asked for a few rolls at the end but not too expensive and she comes out with ridiculously expensive rolls. Total bill was $1,536 for four people. I mean, I know it’s expensive but come on, listen to the customer please!! I guess there needs to be someone over 24 years old present to be respected?

Highly recommend

By Priscilla |

Nobu downtown offers indoor and outdoor dining. Went on a Monday night in late September and they still had a lot of business so customers keep coming back. We decided to dine outdoors this time and overall was a great experience. This is my third time dining at Nobu, always amazing, delicious food and good vibes. Shout out to Jun, our waitress for the evening and the wait staff from the hostess to the servers all went above and beyond with accommodations and made our experience that much better. Felt very safe dining and the restaurant followed all the protocols. We ordered the rock shrimp, black cod, rib eye, baby corn etc. all the dishes were absolutely superb and yes we actually came out feeling full and satisfied as always! Highly recommend

Simply the Best Sushi Restaurant in NYC

By DougcpW |

Never disappoints- went there twice during my 4 day stay. Great service, wonderful environment, freshest sushi plus inventive flavors. Combined - there is something here for all Sushi lovers and considering the food and experiences the prices are pretty good too.

Nice Restaurant

By Ahmed Abou-Hendia |

Very nice place with good food. I love this restaurant anywhere but there is no doubt that their restaurant in London is more distinctive.

Great food, shame about the service.

By Lexington |

Food was amazing, but service didn’t live up to the quality of the food. We were late getting seated for 8pm reservation even though we had to remind the reception team 3 times that we were waiting (I think they forgot about us!) After we had finished our desserts we were told we had to leave the restaurant as it was closing which considering we spent 900 dollars on our meal for 4 people, wasn’t great. Overall I would say food experience very good, but the service (excluding our waitress, who was excellent) was very poor and not in keeping with a restaurant that serves up such great food. Next time we will Nobu a miss and try somewhere else.

Outstanding Japanese Cuisine and Service

By Pamela F |

We recently dined at Nobu Japanese Restaurant in downtown New York on the recommendation of our son and daughter-in-law. It was an outstanding meal from start to finish. Our hosts made all the menu choices as they had been here many times before and everything served was excellent. All selections were beautiful to look at and delicious on the palate. The service was excellent; our server was knowledgeable and always at hand at just the right moment to answer a question or take an order. I include photos of the items we selected from the menu and I would recommend all without hesitation. The Toro Special was off menu. An excellent Japanese restaurant! Highly recommended.

Good

By Fran |

Came here and had the chefs tasting which was 7 courses of nobu’s most popular dishes. The servings were small, but that’s good with so many courses. While I thought it was good, I was not blown away at all by it. Especially not for the prices. It was just okay in my opinion.

Extraordinary experience at the highest level

By 4worldexplorer |

Dining at Nobu is an overall experience. The place is in the basement and rather dark. The food is simply extraordinary. The quality was excellent through the tape. And also everything was served extremely lovingly. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is rather expensive, however, any. Dollar worth. We would definitely stay there again.

Food as impressive as is the decor

By Francois L. |

We celebrated our anniversary at Nobu and, even though we had booked a table in the downstairs dining room, we were thrilled that they were able to offer us a booth on the first level bar as we found the setting there way more beautiful (nothing wrong with the dining room but is more standard... the pillars of the exquisite old building and aerial sculpture in the bar are so much more unusual). We were surprised by our barman asking to be paid as soon as we were served at the bar while waiting for our table but, as soon as we sat down, service was spot on and the food... well it lived to its reputation. Excellent!

Outstanding!

By Tyler Smallwood |

Outstanding dishes! Service was top-notch, along with food and drinks. The waiters were attentive. They recommended the best dishes. We had a great time.

She loved her Nobu Birthday dining experience!

By Bill M |

Our server recommended most of our dishes after learning our preferences. Everything was 100% perfect. We were celebrating and as the night went on our server moved us to a more secluded table for more privacy on her recommendation. The food was impeccable. Been here several times now, but last night was very special.

Gift Certificate Experience

By Joann S |

In December, I went to Nobu to purchase a gift certificate. When I advised the receptionist what I wanted to do, she very politely handed me a Tablet and requested that I respond to the questions on the Tablet. I wasn't happy about this, but I attempted to comply. Half way through responding to the questions, the connection was broken. I took the incomplete questionnaire back to the receptionist and asked what I should do. She didn't know. She called the Manager. We waiting about 10 minutes for him to arrive. He took the Tablet from me. Tried to find where I had left off but was unsuccessful. We had to start from the beginning and he stayed with me until I was finished. I expressed my displeasure at this process. I told him "a customer should be able to hand over their credit card, state what they want to purchase and be handed the gift certificate. This was ridiculous." The Manager agreed with me. He told me everyone on staff hates this new procedure. They complained to the Corporate office but nothing has been done to correct the process.

Birthday Dinner at Nobu Downtown

Staff were not welcoming or accommodating. Food was OK. We were rushed and they removed food from our table without asking if we were done. For the price point please ask customers first before removing plates

Highlight of trip to New York

By John L |

We booked Nobu Downtown on the recommendation of a friend during a short break from the UK. It was a convenient 15 minute walk from our hotel. From first arrival at the lovely building the staff could not have been more attentive or pleasant. Once David, our waiter, had suggested we treat the menu as tapas and provided some recommendations, we settled on two cold dishes and two hot which were all excellent. We also had very tasty miso soup and green tea. Instead of desert we had the sushi selection which was beautiful. From where we were seated we could look along the front counter where 5 chefs were preparing the cold dishes which was really interesting, there were several more chefs behind preparing the hot dishes. The cocktails and wine were also very good.

Great

By Decoyqueen |

Love it! Always fresh and delicious. The rice cake with tuna was great as well as any roll. The shrimp appetizer was great, too

food will not taste the same after Nobu

By Katarzyna K |

Absolutely the best food I have ever had. It should be on everyone's bucket list. Food is literally melting in your mouth.

Not only lives up to the hype, but surpasses it!!!

By foodEreviews |

This had to be the best meal of my life thus far, and I've eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world. Very rarely does something "live up to the hype" but Nobu far exceeded it. Absolutely blew us away. We started with the yellowtail and it was incredible. It was so fresh, and light. the sauce was subtle, yet bold and complex at the same time. Next we had the honey truffle baby corn, and it acquired such a unique flavor profile. The texture of the fried bits on the corn, the savory sweet combo of honey and truffle contrast erupt on your pállate. The fried rice with spicy tuna tartare was incredibly fun, at first glance you notice the play on words. Then you taste it and your like "This totally works." So unique. So packed with flavor. Then we ordered a few basic rolls (salmon and California). Definitely freshest most flavor packed sushi I've ever had. Then the star of the show is definitely the black cod miso. Recomendad by our amazing waitress - her words were "if it's your first time at Nobu, you have to try the black cod miso" and boy it did not disappoint. Literally melts in your mouth. It was so tender, and so perfectly cooked that I couldn't believe it. They're so confident in it that they don't serve it with anything but a spoon. You can literally slice right through it with a spoon, it's that tender. It melted like butter, the flavor was unreal. I can't even describe it. Lastly, we concluded our meal with the fried donuts. They were consistent with the rest of the dining experience packed with flavor and delicious. All in all - the dining experience was just as great as the food. The staff all seemed to be helping each other make for a great dining experience. They pre bussed the table religiously, freshened up our plates every course. This restaurant does it right in every sense. Thanks for a great night.

Had to see what all the rappers were raving about!

By Gina W |

Portions are small for what you get but I guess that’s to be expected at a restaurant such as this. I would return. The ambience was nice. We enjoyed our experience. I have a friend who owns a lovely sushi restaurant so I am a bit discerning but I must say this was pretty good. The vegetables were fresh. The seafood was cooked to perfection. Waiter asked if we had any allergies or preferences and was knowledgeable and accomodating when it came to the menu. We will be back!

Great sushi

By Dawg |

On the Bucket list. We went for lunch so it was empty. Had price fix sushi , wagyu sandwich and sorbet. $35 great deal.

Nice evening but I wouldn't repeat it....

By Simona P |

Very nice place, especially the upper part. We had dinner downstairs where they welcomed us in a super courteous manner. We were looked after by a very kind waitress who was attentive to our needs, ready to explain the various dishes and their specialties. The food is good but I must say not exceptional and absolutely not worth the bill 😏 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids) spent $1200 🙄 definitely a very high price not adequate for what we ate. In conclusion it was a nice evening and a nice experience but I don't think I would go back...

Top notch Nobu experience in NYC!

By Alan P |

Quintessential Nobu, but top notch globally for the brand. We had the omokase and it was stellar. Not inexpensive, but worth it this time in my opinion. Great overall Nobu experience in NYC.

Divine Yellowtail Jalapeno

By Andy T |

I'd have been happy eating the Yellowtail Jalapeno all night, it was so fresh and zingy with the jalapeno afterburner- fantastic! Tempura shrimp was very good too and the sushi dishes were all very good, very fresh and succulent fish with lovely sweet flavours.

Fabulous Experience

By Melani R |

Other than not loving the location (as a NYC driver), the restaurant is beautiful and the service and food were both fantastic. Love the diversity of the menu choices.

Great experience, but rushed

By Carl L |

Food is, as usual, excellent. Downstairs ambience is nice. But, if you go to an early evening seating you will be given the “overly attentive” treatment by your server. They rush you so they can get your table for a second seating. When I’m spending that much for a meal, I shouldn’t be pushed like that. Btw, we were well within our “allotted” time limit.

The most horrible dining experience in my entire life.

By Itrecia S |

Food was very horrible, service was very very horrible, overall experience very very very horrible. If you are not a celebrity don't go there .

Japanese and Sushi

By Jeff W |

I took my wife for a special dinner. The bar upstairs is in a very cool environment with a center bar surrounded by lounge chairs and tables. Nice area to wait until you table is ready. The main dining room is in the lower level. Very nicely decorated the menu was a bit confusing for a first timer. Next time I will be more prepared. Service was good. I wouldn’t say more than that. The expectation is that it would be more professional but it didn’t have that feel. Seem to me that many patrons were more interested in where they were seated and less interested in the food. We enjoyed our dishes and the price wasn’t as expensive as I was expecting. Still would recommend as a date night venue.

Never Thougth I would Eat Here

By msvi2016 |

We managed to get reservations during resturant week and it was a dream come true. To be able to eat in such a fancy resturant was amazing, the resturant itself is so beautiful. high celings, high end furnishings, the service was so amazing. We had the miso black cod, house sushi roll, jalapeno tuna sashimi, poke donburi and skirt steak. Lychee nut cocktail and a matcha cocktail. Every dish was perfection. It was so nice to be able to dine in a place thats usually out of my budget. Thank God for Resturant week

Really good as always !

By MC6363 |

Nobu is on the market for so long than they may not need to keep being spotted but they deserve some congratulations. Not easy for a good restaurants to stay at the best level… Sushis are still excellent… Tuna tataki and tepaniaki also all delicious … ! Just keep on moving !

An excellent experience

By SJR60811 |

We had some time to kill late afternoon, and sat at the bar. Tiffany was our bartender, and was very attentive to our perfect Nobu experience. I had the Kikori Old Fashioned, which was amazing. She recommended the Salt & Pepper Squid which was divine. Alex came on shift during our time there. He is very knowledgeable about the menu, and recommend delicious dishes. The spinach salad was so good. And the simple yellow tail with jalapeño....I can’t even describe how fresh and delicious it was. The manager also came over to chat about our experience. She was pleasant and professional. As a business owner myself, I appreciate it when management takes the time to ask guests how we enjoy our time there. It’s meaningful. We loved our experience so much, we returned a few hours later for a night cap. Bulut, Alex, and Anton were our bartenders. They are great. Engaging with us as well as their other guests. Excellent cocktails. And it’s clear they enjoy working with each other! Alex recommended the whole fish over seasonal vegetables. The presentation was stunning. I wish I’d taken a photo. It was perfectly cooked. The flavors - indescribable. Can not wait to comeback!

Some of the best salmon I’ve had

By alu29 |

Beautiful interiors, incredible food, great service — so worth the money. We ordered the terryaki salmon, tempura lobster, vegetable maki and crispy rice with crab between two of us. I would recommend every dish.

Fancy, but where's the love?

By anamauka |

So first off - food was great. Which is fine, but there is more to a great restaurant than food, it is an experience, and they have some work to do. The central reservations number made our reservation at the wrong Nobu, which I imagine happens often enough, understandable. The host at the entrance, though, didn't need to roll her eyes at us, and make it seem like it was IMPOSSIBLE to get us in, when the bar area, where we ended up eating, was about 50 - 75% full the entire time we were there. Just seat us and say thank you for dining with us. As mentioned, food was great, but the saving grace of the entire evening was our server Jenny, who ticked all the boxes by being professional and welcoming, efficient and friendly. She even managed to get us special off-menu items (although they unfortunately came out after dessert, so, hmm) but because the timing was off they were offered complimentary, which was greatly appreciated. If you are looking for great food and servers who look at you like you don't rate, try Nobu Downtown when Jenny is off. Otherwise, be sure she is there before you are seated. She deserves all the credit for our saved evening.

One of the best places to eat in NYC

By jjs7676 |

Every time we dine here, it's amazing. Expensive, but amazing. We shared the Yellowtail Jalapeño, Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce & Unagi. Not a lot, but enough. We plan to dine again very soon.

Ambiance Feels Mssing

By Max D |

The old location was great but now it’s in the old AT&T building and so most of the ambiance is the lobby, They cannot change or alter it since looks like the building is a landmark or something. It’s grand but doesn’t feel special. The main dining room is downstairs and is more like the Nobu you would expect but it’s in a basement now and so no natural light or windows. The old location in TriBeCa was better. I believe the food is still good and I always go for the sushi but surprisingly, the cooked food particularly the wings are even better. But expect to pay a lot. I usually average $300 a person here. Upstairs at the bar is nicer but expect annoying ppl waiting for their table or happy hour crowd.

First time at Nobu

By Rjsevelyn41 |

It was my first time at Nobu so I didn’t know what to expect. The food was amazing will definitely have your taste buds in shock. The portions are small but it’s fine dining so it was to be expected. Only thing that could be worked on is the ambiance. It was extremely noisy, there were flies which I was shocked at, and the women's bathroom was horrendously smelly. Otherwise I would recommend.

Never disappoints

By Steve D |

Nobu is located at 195 Broadway within a shopping complex. The bar is on the ground floor and guests are lead down stairs for lunch/dinner reservations. The dining room is expansive and elegant. The sheer amount of staff is overwhelming. The service is fantastic, especially given the size of the place. Some dishes we loved were the fluke tiradito, rock shrimp creamy spicy, toro jalapeño, hamachi citrus and there are always amazing specials. It is not cheap to eat here. We spent $400 for two including a bottle of nice Chardonnay.

Poor Service Outweighed the Excellent Food

By Emily |

My boyfriend and I have been to Nobu several times in midtown for business dinners and have always loved the food and enjoyed the experience. For a special birthday dinner we opted to try the downtown location, which we hoped would have a more fun, less corporate vibe. We have never experienced such terrible service and the lack of attentiveness completely ruined the experience. Having been the one to choose the restaurant, I was mortified by the level of service. We had been seated for more than 20 minutes before we were able to successfully flag down a passing server to take our drink orders. 10 minutes later our drinks arrived, but the server left so quickly after setting them down that we weren't able to put in a food order. After another 10 minutes (40 minutes after first sitting down) I actually got up and walked over to the hostess stand to ask who our server was, as it wasn't clear and no one had approached our table to assist without being waved down. The hostess was able to find our waiter and from then on the service was passable, but never great. Fortunately my boyfriend was good humored about the "McDonalds-level Service", as he called it, but I was humiliated for my choice of a "special" birthday venue.

Underwhelming experience, food not exceptional for that price

By Sylvie G |

I went to Nobu Downtown for my birthday, I initially wanted to book at the 57th st location but had to shift to Downtown as there was no table there. I found the whole experience quite underwhelming. I felt it was all about the money they can make out of it rather than the preoccupation to provide guests with an experience. Our table was late, no one really cared about us waiting, we were “invited” to wait at the bar, which was full. My drink was mistaken twice (I had ordered a glass of champagne, nothing too complicated). Then we ordered food. No one cared to give us a tour of the menu and advice. My daughter’s entree came at the same time of the starter but mine came much later. Food was good but nothing tasted exceptional. The waiter was efficient but not particularly nice. We ate, we paid, we left, and that was it. The minute we left, another party was being seated at our table. Time is money and you can feel it at Nobu! I wont’t go back.

Great!

By Key West Food Critic |

Service was amazing! Sashimi was incredibly fresh..sushi was soft, melting in your mouth. Not too hot or cold. I have to be honest when I say it is great sushi-however, I have had better at the other location on 57. But overall great!

Great meal and location - a bit loud

By Rcr883 |

Top flight food as expected, hard not to like NOBU! Service was great along with the meal, location is very nice but a bit loud.

Fantastic food ! Great bar level with full service

By kimberly y |

We love the Nobu restaurants but sometimes the quality of the food is not consistent from location to location. We had a 9:00pm reservation on the "hottest" day in NYC. We had just walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and were excited to see that Nobu was just a short walk from the end of the bridge. We arrived 45 mins. before our reservation and decided to eat on the bar level i/o waiting for our table downstairs. Downstairs was definitely more lively and had a cool vibe but upstairs was perfectly fine. It was quieter and warmer in feeling. We had the Wagyu gyoza, the yellowtail jalapeño, rock shrimp tempura and the black miso cod. The surprise favorite were the Wagyu gyoza. Big dumplings filled with meat. Very tasty and filling. The other dishes were favorites we always get and they didn't disappoint. Service was excellent.

Nobu Broadway and Nobu Shoreditch are our favorites!

By Lew S |

This ‘new’ location offers two distinct settings in which to enjoy your Japanese-Peruvian food. And we find this location to be so convenient to the Metro. The food; excellent. The service; very good to excellent. And absolutely consistent so that we can enjoy our favorites in either location.

Super fresh sushi served with style

By Have Goat Will Travel |

Cannot be faulted for food or service. Just what I needed after three days of mediocre overpriced food elsewhere. Would recommend.

Good quality not what we expect from Nobu

By Michiel B |

We’ve been to other Nobu restaurants before and have always had a fantastic experience. Unfortunately the quality of the food at this restaurant did not meet the level we are used to from Nobu - fish were not cooked well, sushi nori seemed dry.

Nobu is just amazing

By Jeff |

We have eaten a many Nobu locations over the years. We have never had a bad meal. This was our first time at the “new” Downtown location. It’s actually a little hard to find. I wish there was better signage. We wandered around looking for it for a few minutes. The decor is very cool. Lots of pretty people having a big time. Our meal was outstanding. The bill was huge, but a worthwhile splurge. The service was a little hit and miss. Not quite up to normal Nobu levels. But nonetheless great evening.

Omakase rock!

By Shiny Z |

Heard of this place before but never though that I would love a Omakase fusion tasting. This place blew my mind off as every single course of the premium Omakase was absolutely surprising, and the Wagyu beef was literally melting in my mouth. The wine selection was great and the cocktails such as Mandarin with gold flakes was very tasty. The premium Omakase + 2-3 drinks cost ~$250USD to $300USD, but the quality of the food / drinks make the price worth it.

Excellent experience

By IdiMia |

Incredibly beautiful, fresh, excellent service. The waiter had great recommendations and took great care of us. I wish I could remember his name.

Huge disappointment for an important birthday celebration.

By whenyouregone |

As soon as we sat down, our waiter recommended we order edamame and shishito pepper appetizers. We loved that idea - we were hungry! Little did we know…our “pre-appetizers” would not arrive until three-quarters of the way through our meal. When it did arrive, the edamame was sadly soggy…essentially what you would get from a cheap sushi joint (or worse than that, those places often have fresh edamame). The shishito peppers were horribly greasy. The crispy rice tuna appetizer arrived with cold rice , which was somewhat baffling because it was the only dish that came quickly. Nothing came in the manner we ordered it, one person for their main as an appetizer (despite our ordering instructions). I actually never even got my main course - everyone had finished their dinner long ago, And the saddest part, when we called it quits, nobody wanted dessert because it had been such an unpleasant experience and our table was full of uncleared dishes and glasses….the special birthday surprise that I had planned in advance with the restaurant never materialized. It was such a disappointment. Celebrating two sixteenth birthdays, an expensive cheque, and….a total bust. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Consistently fabulous

By peter w |

Dined here on a Tuesday night to celebrate my birthday. Have been to multiple Nobu’s in the past including this one but at its former location in TriBeCa. The new location is in the finial district and beautifully designed. The clientele naturally felt a little more Wall Street than before but still a good mix of people. We ordered our usual and weren’t disappointed. Edamame, miso black cod, popcorn shrimp, sashimi.......etc. all fabulous. Service was first class as was the whole experience. A little pricey but can’t wait to return.

Yummy

By Erica W |

Really good, the sushi is really good and so is the quality and the service. It is expensive but worth every single penny.

Beautiful evening

By AaronN19 |

Amazing sushis and sashimis ! We loved the Caramel Soba Cha so much ! A little expensive but impeccable service

Worth the visit

By Ilke H |

Great service, waiters with good perception of when to serve more wine/water, quick delivery of dishes, cool atmosphere. The mini spinach salad with shrimp is great, the black cod in butter lettuce leaves is great too. The octopus sashimi was rubbery. The chocolate sorbet dessert is delicious. The wine, a sauvignon blanc from NZ, is spectacular. The house's nobu, both white and red, are well below.

Expensive but tasty

By sunnyd9522 |

I am not a sushi lover but went with three friends who were. I ordered a dish of vegetables. They were delicious!! This was my second favorite meal while in New York. I thought the prices were a little expensive but New York is expensive and this place was pretty fancy. I would come back here again.

Poor service; Over-rated and the food is not worth the price

By BonVonage2009 |

Our server provided fine service and was excellent in making recommendations. However, we had a poor experience during the wait for our table. We were 15 minutes early for our reservations and were offered to take a seat at the bar. When we sat down at the bar, the bartender rudely told us to move because the seats were reserved. He did not apologize to us for shooing us away from the bar. He pointed to another table for use to be seated but that table was also reserved. Very very rude service. It was not a good way to start dinner at a fine restaurant. We will never dine at NOBU again. Nor will I ever recommend this place to anyone. The food was overpriced for sushi and sashimi. This restaurant is only resting on its old laurels and marketing. There are better sashimi places to visit. This is definatley not worth it.

Saturday dinner

By Stanley B C |

Over the top great with many old favorite dishes and lots of new ones LEE supervised everything to perfection ,as usual and new server,Brian did a great job

It’s nice but not quite Istanbul

By Simon Dodd |

Having eaten at Nobu Istanbul we were excited to try Downtown Manhattan. The restaurant is vibrant and busy. Unfortunately, the food was not quite as good as Istanbul; the spicy edamame coated in a wonderful chilli glaze were just dry coated in chilli flakes, the tempura vegetables were simply individual vegetables deep fried (eg a broccoli, a carrot) with no finesse, the draft Asahi was quite flat (should be in a nucleated branded glass), puddings a bit boring and service a bit hit and miss. Not sure why the menu is so different to Istanbul but for us it was nowhere near as good which is a shame.

Good Drinks & Service

By Diana |

I’m on a Nobu World Tour right now & this was my 4th stop. I came here just for drinks. The drink I ordered was really good. The service was great too. Nice ambiance inside.

Nobu has finally "jumped the shark"!

By VinPrabhat |

I am scared to say that I think Nobu has finally "jumped the shark"! We have dined at nobu frequently over the last 15 years and have always enjoyed the meal and experience (at Nobu 57 more recently). Our one bad experience previously was Nobu in San Diego where we felt the good wasn't as good as NYC. With the proliferation of the Nobu brand and the move from the old Nobu downtown and Nobu "next door" to the new downtown location in the financial district, something has gone awry. The Restaraunt is certainly gorgeous with an ambiance even better than Nobu 57. However, that is the only positive thing i can really say about our experience tonight. The food was mediocre at best. Even the creamy spicy crab was over cooked and rubbery. The sushi rolls seemed to be about the same quality as you can get at good strip mall sushi places in all of the five boroughs. Walking out of there having spent over 400$ for three people as usual, i couldn't help but think that i won't be back. At this price point, there are over a dozen outstanding sushi places in NYC such as Gari, Yasuda, Tomoe etc that serve far superior food for the money. I am sorry to say that a NYC legendary dining establishment is now a tourist shell of what it was. I guess this is what happens when any restaurant begins to "over" franchise.

Tasty Views and Beautiful Dishes

By JohnnyH |

This is the BEST spot in the city for food, service, and a scene; the ambiance is delicious! Ask the management about making an on-going reservation each month as this spot is LIT and resys are hard to come by at certain times (I like a solid 8:30pm resy for celeb viewing and vibes).

Great Food in Unique Setting

By Dana Los Angeles |

Nobu downtown is great food in very unique setting. A highly recommended dining expetirnce but bring a big wallet

Not quite Tribeca but not bad.

By Marshall F |

Nobu has gotten a lot of grief in the press lately, with a recent one-star revire in te Times. Well, it isn't certainly worthy of that has the flavorful, burst in your mouth, experience that the old Nobu gave has largely returned. It is pricey, but for unique and delicious dishes, it is the only place to go.

Not a fan of dogs allowed to join guests for dinner

By jjs7676 |

Food & service are always good. I did not like the dog brought into the restaurant to join for dinner. I have no issues with service dogs. I do have issues with pets.

Beautiful and delicious

By Jimmy B |

We have enjoyed Nobu restaurants in many cities around the world and I think this location is the most spectacular. The upstairs room is historic and spectacular. The food and service matched the ambience! Great Sushi, inventive takes on different rolls and always fresh. A must go to spot when in Manhattan.

Amazing!

By adrialvarez |

Every bite was worth every dollar. The food is amazing!!! Service is not that good, we were dressed like tourist and the staff behaved a bit snobish... but, you are there for the food, right? A must!

A disappointing experience.

By Enrique G |

Very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this restaurant at all. The food was pretty mediocre and the staff not friendly. For the same prices you can go to a thousand restaurants better.

Always outstanding

By Baz |

We were regulars at their old location in TriBeCa, so we knew what to expect. We decided to do the Restaurant week lunch special, expecting smaller portions (at $39, it's a great deal)but no, regular servings arrived at the table. Their martinis ARE expensive (and their award winning martini WASN'T our favourite), but that's to be expected anywhere, these days. The rock shrimp wasn't onto menu, but we HAD to order it. It is THE BEST!!

Excellent service, ambiance, food, and drink

My wife and I enjoyed a special dinner here last weekend prior to a show. We began with drinks at the bar prior to dinner. As a high end restaurant of course they have everything including top of the line vodka like Beluga Gold Line (not to be confused with other Beluga vodka), Louis XIII cognac, top shelf wines, etc. Even with normal but good vodka such as Ketel One this is a place of $25 martinis and a total bill with dinner will be roughly $135 per person. Prepare for >$100 per person to eat here. With that being said, it will be a special experience. We found the service to be excellent at the bar and at our table (dining room is downstairs). We both had an appetizer and an entree. Both were exceptional including presentation and taste. I indulged in some nice Sake as well. I highly recommend trying Nobu for a special and unique dining experience.

A Six-Star Dinner!

My wife and I picked Nobu for dinner with her cousin, whom we don't get to see often enough. We split several dishes - yellowtail jalapeno, new style sashimi, lobster tempura, rock shrimp tempura, brussels sprouts, some rolls and edamame. The dishes were first rate. The bottle of Raventos Extra Brut was outstanding and a steal at $85. Unfortunately, there was only one. The Lanson Brut was equally good, but more than twice the price. But that is my only issue. All in all, it was a memorable dinner, all the more so because my wife had made prior arrangements for the check, so when our excellent server, Jun, came with the "check" and put it in front of her cousin, she opened it to find a note saying "You've been punked!" Thanks, Jun, for pulling that off seamlessly.

Very good, never disappoints

Great option for asian fusion dining in downtown NYC. I've been there many times and never been disappointed. Great for special occasions with friends and also business dinners. Specially recommend the yellowtail jalapeno sashimi, the rock shrimp and toro tartar! Also don't forget to try the crab tempura as well. Definitely not a cheap place, but very good value for the quality.

Love the sushi and service

Great sushi. Sat at the bar. Crisp hand rolls. Cut our sushi with some special requests. Great and prompt service without rushing us!

Seems to be inconsistent.

Seems to be inconsistent. For the money we have spent at this place, there are much better restaurants we could have gone to.

One of the most delicious and fun dinners in NYC! Service and ambiance was perfect too! Our waiter helped us select some of the best menu choices.

Always have the yellow tail jalapeno - Best

Very nice and inviting atmosphere. The servers are very attentive and the food is always fantastic. Have been to Nobu Downtown many times and have never been disappointed.

average Japanese food for the high price

By YWScott |

Their food is not bad at all. It's quite tasty. However, they are quite average for those of us who are used to the real Japanese food in Japan. The cost is too much for the quality of food.

Very good but pricey

We had an excellent dinner at Nobu. The sushi was a amazing and the service top notch. It was however very pricey. There are less expensive sushi places close by, but we were looking for a nicer atmosphere for our anniversary. The atmosphere was lovely, but we definitely paid for it.
