We didn't like our meal much at Noodle Village, but that was partly our fault - I think we ordered wrong. But, not knowing much about authentic Cantonese food, we ordered what we thought sounded delicious. We started with the soup dumplings, which were good, but not great. We then shared the Hong Kong style lo mein with brisket. The noodles came with broth to dip them in "if they're too dry," which they were. They needed a lot of broth, because they were pretty dry and pretty bland. The brisket on the lo mein I didn't get at all. It was gristly and full of something like cartilage. I cook brisket pretty often, but I don't know why the brisket was like this. But I didn't enjoy it at all. We also got an order of Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce that was simple and delicious. While the Chinese broccoli and soup dumplings were okay/good, I really disliked the lo mein and brisket, so for me this meal was a miss.

When we were in NYC I wanted to give my wife a taste of my experiences in China because she will never go with me, and I am super glad we found this place. When we wandered in, the place was packed with locals and we were the only laowai to be seen. I thought we would have to wait, but the hostess squeezed us in at a big communal table across from a local and his young daughter. We were immediately greeted with hot tea that was perfect for the cold day although I was surprised it was black rather than green. We ordered the brisket noodles Hong Kong style, the spicy devil's ramen, steamed pork dumplings, and two spring rolls. The food reminded me of China, and American consumers need to bear that in mind. The brisket was super fatty and I liked it but my wife did not. My ramen had fish balls and a century egg, which I found tasty but others may not Overall, it was a great experience, and I can't recommend this place enough.

I tried Hong Kong style noodle soup for the First time in NY. And it was really good. Was not greasy at all, Light soup and thin noodle, best much with Shrimp wonton and pig hok. Also it's cheap, good place to grab fast lunch .

Great environment, clean and efficient staff. We were the only non-Asian patrons at the time we visited. Best Chinese food I have had in the US. We were a group of 6 and that is about as big a group you will get at one table. Very cozy.

I hate how the economy is affecting the quality of the food as well. When this place first opened the food was great. We came here often but lately the quality is going in a downward spirals. If the price goes up, the quality should remain the same. Unfortunately, that isn't the case here. We stopped coming here since our last visit in June.

This is my favorite Chinese food place in all of New York City. The soup dumplings are delicious. The soup dumpling chef was hired from Shanghai - the origin of soup dumplings. I never understand why people line up for hours for Joe's Shanghai when Noodle Village is so close, and the soup dumplings are so much better. The hot pot rice is also delicious. My grandpa has lived in Chinatown for over twenty years, and ever since Noodle Village opened a few years ago, this is the location that my grandpa brings all his friends to for hot pot rice. Get the chicken hot pot rice - it is extremely smooth! They are also famous for their wonton noodle soup since they make each wonton by hand and their soup has no MSG. Unlike many Chinatown restaurants, Noodle Village boils its soup broth for hours instead of using MSG. That's why it's so popular with locals!

Great HK experience. Won ton noodles, veggies, beef brisket. The real deal! From a traveler who's been to HK (to eat) over 80 times...

Ordered simple fried rice and scallion pancakes. Never got the fried rice ---- after asking TWICE for it. Scallion pancakes were overfried and tasteless. Also ordered a Rice and Sausage dish. Again...TASTELESS...no flavor...even after adding sauces. Stay away! You've been warned!

We found this place on Yelp which had good reviews. I was very disappointed with the food, fried noodles with vegetables. It was very little variety on the vegetables, it didn’t taste that good and the plate was just ok in size! I also ordered vegetable speingrolls which were just ok.... they were though very warm! My boyfriend had two varieties of dumplings and said they were good and the noodle soup was ok. Water was DISGUSTING, like drinking the pool back home! Service was bad and we felt we were in a big rush when we were finished and got the check without even asking for it. I had barely swallowed the last food and had to finish my overpriced cola! 2 stars as my boyfriend was ok satisfied but should be less than one in my opinion! Eat somewhere else.....

Whenever we visit Chinatown in the daytime we will stop here for lunch, which turns out to be about once every month or two. We have eaten at Noodle Village for almost five years One of our favorite vacation spots is Hong Kong. Besides shopping, we love the food there. The closest we have found to our favorite won ton noodles and rice congee restaurants in Hong Kong is at Noodle Village, so it has been a very welcome discovery. And over the years we have been able to try other dishes as well, such as curry tofu, curry oxtail, and braised beef brisket ramen. All of them are richly seasoned and authentically prepared. The one shortcoming we found was that for a long time they did not serve rice with any dish, but based on our last visit, we noticed that there is now a posting on the tables, though not yet in the menu, that certain dishes can be served with rice. That should do wonders particularly for the curry dishes. We also appreciate the usually prompt service and overall cleanliness. While I am surprised by the negative food reviews that some have given Noodle Village, we did actually experience two consecutive bad meals ourselves here a few years ago. We then stopped coming here for almost a year before giving it another try. Much to our surprise and delight, that order came out as good as we remembered from earlier days, and we have been returning regularly ever since. So my guess is that there can be occasional bad food experiences here, perhaps due to a substitute or fill in cook, which may just be temporary. Other than that, it may also be due to some patrons having a different taste expectation for certain dishes, Still, to us, this is as close as a New York Chinatown restaurant comes to several basic Hong Kong style foods, for which we are grateful and expect to keep coming back to.

We were in Chinatown on a saturday of Memorial weekend. The streets were packed. of people. Initially we were going to Big Wong for lunch, but changed our mind when we asked a food store clerk asked for advice. Village Noodle was packed, but we did not have to wait long for a table for two. None of the patrons were non Asian, from the looks of it most were locals. Good sign. Menu is extensive, we had beef tribe, classical won ton noodles cooked al dente, and a dish of fresh choy sum veggies. Food was hot and fresh, service prompt and accurate. I don't know if it is for patrons who are looking for americanized chinese food, but this is purely authentic comfort food for chinese, cantonese style . Oh, no MSG, and they did pay attention to food allergies.

Went there on Christmas Day when the rest of Manhattan was closed. Pretty reliable noodles place. Delicious.

I enjoyed this place. We went as a larger group with a couple of babies and they were able to accommodate our party. Sure we had to a considerable amount of time but it was worth it. The menu is as diverse as are the patrons. The traditional Cantonese dishes were prepared with care and held their consistency until the last bite.

This is a sit down restaurant. We had no wait. The fried rice was good. The soup dumplings authentic. The downstairs bathrooms were very clean.

We chose to eat here on our last night of 3 in NYC. Food in general in Manhattan is very expensive and we were hoping to find something that wasn't going to break the bank but still be good quality. We were also looking for something lighter by this point. noodle village was within walking distance of our hotel, had good ratings on yelp and only one $ for pricing. When we arrived, we were the only Caucasian people there - always a good sign when looking for authentic food. The restaruant was full (also a good sign as it was a Sunday night) but we didn't wait long to be seated. This restaurant isn't fancy & you aren't going to get the best service in the city but the food is good & reasonably priced. 3 of the 4 of us ordered noodle bowls. Be warned, the large is massive! It is the size of one of my mixing bowls at home. The 4th ordered a noodle and beef dish. You are not served altogether as usual but whenever something is ready in the kitchen. There seems to be no rhyme or reason as how that works. 2 of us ordered the same dish, just different sizes and they arrived at completely different times. My husband who ordered the noodle & beef dish didn't get served until the rest of us were finished and that was only after asking twice about his meal. No one comes to check on your meal and if you need anything, it is up to you to get the attention of your server. For the 4 of us, dinner was just under $40 which was a huge difference compared to what we had paid for meals the entire weekend (including a $111 brunch!). If you are willing to take the service in stride, you will have an enjoyable meal and experience. Something a bit different in NYC.

Stumbled on this great place in Chinatown. Owner very nice and service was fast and friendly. Recommend soup dumplings, ramens and especially the hot pot. Large soups are LARGE! Go there before the tourists discover it!

After a brisk walk across the Brooklyn bridge, it was great to sit in the air conditioning and enjoy the tasty wonton lomein soup whose authenticity we can't get back home. Not hungry enough to say I'll have what they are having! Recommend this restaurant!

Three of us ate outside (we forgot to bring our proof of vaccination), but it was a lovely day. The service is immediate, the options are enormous, and the quality very high based on the 3 dishes that we tried. Take your proof of vaccination to seat inside now that the cool weather is coming.

My husband and I visited Noodle Village after waiting in line at another restaurant down the street for nearly 30 minutes. After seeing good reviews here, my husband went to Noodle Village to see how long the wait would be. He was told by the hostess that we could be seated immediately, so we thought we'd try it out. We were seated, then given warm tea to drink. A waitress came over shortly thereafter and took our order. We both ordered chicken fried rice. We didn't wait long, and our food was excellent. I highly recommend!

This restaurant in Mott Street looks good and has nice food! We off course had noodles and got black tea on the house. Good thing was there were a lot of locals eating there! Decoration was well done, a good stop in China Town!

We really liked eating here...it was wonderful. Better and more authentic then the Asian food you may be used to. Hot tea for everybody...quick and efficient service. They know how to get people in and out. Great for foodies who are seeking to stretch their knowledge of Asian cuisine. No chicken tenders on this menu...leave the babies at home.

We came in off the street with a group of 10 and they were able to accommodate us. The food was pretty good and the service was fast. I had shrimp wonton soup, a scallion pizza, house special fried rice, and Chinese broccoli (like stalks of some kind). Everything was pretty good. Service is not particularly attentive (we had to ask for some stuff twice), but may be commensurate with this genre of eatery.

Excellent service. Great tasting food. Perfect portions. Excellent value. A+

I came across a new on-line order site which opened up a new group of Chinese restaurants to me for delivery to my East Village home. I was pretty excited to order from Noodle Village, which I had never eaten at before but which seemed to have an authentic Cantonese menu that promised all sorts of delicious choices. I'm not going to complain about the late delivery as my location is just at the outside of their range and the driver was very apologetic that he had gotten delayed. What I will complain about are the 3 dishes I chose for 30 bucks. The "cantonese lo-mein with homemade fishcakes"....a clump of noodles and 4 pieces of fish cakes, dry to the bone, lacking flavor and creativity, utterly disappointed. The cuttlefish in spicy chili sauce was ok, tender and all, but considering it was chili sauce I couldn't locate the flavor. The special advertised brisket which I love as a cut of meat? TOUGH! NO FLAVOR! ONE TURNIP. I couldn't have been more disappointed and with so many other authentic options available, I won't be ordering again and I'm sorry about it because I'm always happy with new options.....unless they're not good of course.

We usually go there every two months for fun snacking of noodles, congee and dumplings. I tried somethings different at my last visit and they were all great. The extra bonus about that place is they don’t use MSG so it’s better for me.

Great spot, the food is excellent and the prices very affordable for New York. In addition we give you tea throughout the meal. I recommend. Many Chinese in this small restaurant, it's certainly a good sign....

I haven't felt an authentic Chinese experience like this since I was in China! We tried several noodle and dumpling dishes, and everything was out of this world. Especially interesting were the soup dumplings. I haven't visited very many Chinatown restaurants, so I don't have much to compare this place to. No matter, I'd still return to this place in a heartbeat.

First time in this restaurant. We went after we read about it in Trip adviser. Roomy restaurant with a good service, in Mott street. Wanton noodles soup-yammy ! Seafood Chawmein -very good. Chicken fried rice-good and delicate (my wife asked without MSG). Enjoy.

My Dad told me about this place years ago, as he was a chief cabin attendant in an airline company. I came here and discovered he was right: outstanding good dishes, mixed with true tradition and courtesy. I never had such a great meal speaking of chinese cuisine. Fully satisfied, I would come back to Manahatta just to enjoy again this jewel in the Big Apple. A+ is minimum.

My first time here but trust me as i will be back for more. Loving their claypot rice, regardless chicken or salty fish. I even ordered 2 packets to bring home with me (3 hours drive back to Upstate New York). Simply comforting food and there is also pig kidney congee. Yummy! Looking forward to my next visit soon !

We sat in a Covid hut. The service was very quick. We all got the mango punch which was too sweet for me but my daughter enjoyed it. I loved my pan fried seafood ramen and my daughter enjoyed her dumpling soup. The dim sum was okay, I’ve had better. All in all a good experience.

Noodle Village satisfied my craving for wonton noodles. I'm usually a big fan of the jumbo wontons made of ground shrimp, but Noodle Village's wontons are impressive as well -- not super large, but at least there are actual pieces are shrimp inside. The egg noodles were pretty standard. I'm getting the feeling that most Chinatown restaurants just love the throw soup dumplings on their menu. Fine, I tried it at Noodle Village as well -- pretty decent. The skin is just right, the meat is good, but the soup is way too salty. The scallion pancakes, however, were pretty bomb. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised, and will be coming back...

Why someone didn’t mention that in the heading is unacceptable. Food very good and fresh. Service as expected and that was ok. The juicy dumpling very thin but sure juicy and tasty. Had the seafood Raman extra spicy and that was very tasty as well.

We chanced upon it and was very happy with the find. Only got to try their noodles - Lo Mein. Very tasty! Soup that came with it was a bit salty but we didn't have much of it as it was hot outside. The wontons and shrimp dumplings on our neighbors' table looked good too. Will have to try those next time.

I had the Hot Pot Rice and it came to the table in a sizzling cast iron pot, big enough for two. As I looked around, all of the meals looked delicious and I must go back for the Dim Sum!

I went to Noodle Village with a few friends and was celebrating my birthday and we had such a great time. The food was delicious and the price was perfect not expensive at all! We had the cuttlefish, oxtail, some vegetables, the dumplings and some other things and the food was perfect. If you are in NYC this is a must try its small you sit with other people but the atmosphere is so worth it!!! Go and Enjoy noodle village!

I checked their website and saw that the last order was at 9:30pm, so I hurried over. I arrived at exactly 9pm and there were still 4-5 groups of customers there, but unfortunately they said they were closed.

EXCELLENT 10/10, I recommend and will go back with my eyes closed. We waited 15 minutes outside for a table to open and it was worth it. We shared noodles and beef, dumplings, and other great things. The service is just great: we had water served at the beginning, and we had water served when our glasses emptied, we had the table cleared when we finished dishes, brought back new towels when ours had fallen to the ground. Fast service. The staff regularly asked if it was okay but without being too oppressive, we felt they were proud to see us discover their cuisine. Awards are very low, you can easily get away with 15-20$ with shared dish, 2 plates of dumplings, 2 drinks. Obviously with such a Low Award at nyc, and with such culinary quality and service, we offered a tip with pleasure and with logic and good heart to the waiters, directly when paying by credit card. We were 4 and tipped 22% or $5 and a few each. Well deserved!

Food was average, nothing special. We tried to get in a couple other places and resorted in Noodle Village as a third option. Dumplings were good, not the best, but good. Rest of the food we ordered was average. Told us it would be a 10 minute wait and turned out to be 25 minutes, for that length I would have waited at one of the other spots with similar wait times.

A little hole in the wall on an off street in chinatown - what a nice find on a cold nite. great menu - all comfort food - the staff prefer to speak Chinese but they know english. had hot pot rice bowl - big bowl and choy sum. around the place people had noddle soups and looks of dumplings. prices are a bargain. very clean. most of the non Chinese were across the street at the peking duck kitchen i looked in and it looked pricey - carved at the your table. no this is the village! go where the villagers go!

We went to this restaurant following this website recommendations. The food was good but not more than that. "Nothing to write home about"...

Our experience was bad, even though the food was really tasty. Food we have ordered was really taste, the dumplings we had were fantastic. The server "Ivy" was so unkind and unfriendly that she turned our good evening into an evening in which we spent hour discussing how bad she behaved. Recommend for take-away, not recommended to eating in the restaurant.

I ate in this restaurant with my children (ages 14, 11, & 8) and my mom. Everyone was happy. My youngest enjoyed chicken noodle soup -- He said it was the best he had ever tasted. My middle child loved the dumplings. My oldest ate spicy pork lo mein -- said it was delicious. The Shanghai soup dumplings are really good. I prefer the pork ones (not the crab). The service was excellent and the decor is pleasant. The restaurant was full of Asia patrons.

This restaurant came highly recommended. It did not disappoint. We waited a bit and got seated in one of the little Covid huts on the street. Service was quick, the food was awesome! Cant wait to go back to try more.

My grandson's shrimp lomein was a big gob of some kind of starchy noodles and undercooked shrimp. He picked at it but left most on the plate. My daughter had vegetable lomein. She said it tasted like fish. The was only one veg in it-chinese broccoli. She ate none of it. My shrimp dumplings were good but we all had those terrible noodles. I questioned the check, I believe we were overcharged on one meal x2 but the waitress said it was correct. Never again.

We tried to get into Wo Hop 17 but the line was too long. We were 2 adults and 2 kids and split two of the large soups, Chinese broccoli, fried dumplings, and plain rice for under $40. Hot tea was complimentary. Service was slow-ish but responsive. Nice place for a solid meal.

Found this place after looking up restaurants recommended by locals. So glad we decided to stop here! The food was delicious and filling but not heavy. Also well priced. The service was quick and friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing in contrast to busy Chinatown. I recommend the dumplings- there's a reason everyone keeps commenting on them, yum!

Very good and original chinese fast food. We have been there twice in a week because of their famous wontons and noodles.

We ordered noodles soup which was really really good and tasty. Best chinese ever had. But the only con was the rude staff of the restaurant.

We love it! I was here last april with my husband. We were looking for noodles and we found... Noodle village! Good food, very kind staff, warming atmosphere, very cheap. We were the only turists that evening and all people were so welcoming and warming! I remember the two old ladies who helped us with the chopstics and the kind girl who suggested us which was the best dessert to taste :)

Took over 40 minutes for fried rice and our easy dumpling soup took 50 min. Once we said something it magically all appeared. I dislike when people just don’t care about service . We got a sorry. Not gonna lie the fried rice was kick ass delicious. We ate it fast and ran to catch our flight. Only giving two star because if very slow and no attentive service. Fried rice 4 stars. Never tried the soup we sent it back. Clean place with clean bathrooms.

I'm a regular at this noodle place because they don't put any MSG in their noodles soup. I usually order the beef tripe wonton noodle along with a side dish of Chinese vegetables. Another awesome dish is their famous burnt rice with Chinese sausage which will take some time and congee. The price is very reasonable and won't break your piggy bank. It usually gets crowded on an afternoon weekend.

Superior flavors with a refined and 'clean' hand in preparing, make this spot one Of those where you wish you didn't have to stop eating. Excellent is an understatement.

We stopped in at Noodle Village for lunch while exploring Chinatown and it delivered everything we hoped for — authentic, delicious food served with warmth and efficiency. I had the beef, ginger, and scallion noodle soup, while the chicken version that my son had was also excellent. The flavours were deep and comforting, the noodles were spot on, and the portions generous without being overwhelming. It was the kind of no-fuss, straight-to-the-point meal that hits the mark when you want something satisfying and real. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. If you’re after a proper bowl of noodles in Chinatown without the hype, this place is well worth a stop.

Great spicy seafood noodle! Spicy is not spicy... but real good taste! Good ambient In middle of Chinatown.

My friend, a carnivore, and I, a vegan, were heading to the Vegetarian Dim Sum House which Yelp stated was open until 23:00. We arrived at 22:30 only to be told that the restaurant was closed. So, we decided to eat at the nearby Noodle Village. I had fried vegetable dumplings and scallion pancakes neither of which were memorable. My friend had shrimp dumpling soup which he also disliked. I shall never patronize the Noodle Village again. Neither should you. You have been warned!

We picked noodle village because it seemed to be somewhat authentic but still had some recognizable dishes (because I'm terrified of spicy/scary food). It was absolutely delicious! I had the chicken lo mein and pork pot stickers. My husband had one of the beef noodle dishes and I wish I could remember the name because it was very good. They only gave chopsticks, and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I can't use them, so I didn't eat very much. I'm also not sure what the etiquette is on asking for a fork... So I guess if you don't want to offend anyone, don't go unless you can use chopsticks!

An excellent option for a small group to partake in communal dining, with the opportunity to sample multiple dishes. The soup dumplings were particularly well-received, alongside the various noodle offerings. Given the extensive menu selection, it's advisable to arrive with a clear dining strategy in mind!

Noodle village was awesome the food was excellent and exquisite dumpling lo mein and dumplings they were excellent my husbandhad the lightspacey lo meinhe had the soy egg and so did I and it was very good.

Price to quality ratio is great, very delicious food for a very reasonable price, all the locals are here and it was very fast service. 10/10 would come again!

The soup dumplings I had here were the most juiciest ever. The porridge was good too. Also try the fried bread, goes well with the porridge

Stopped in for lunch, best noodles I have had. The shrimp dumplings were great also. Plan to return on my next visit to the city!

A few years ago, my family's favorite Chinatown restaurant for soup dumplings closed. Noodle Village's pork soup dumplings are a very fine substitute and are consistently excellent.

Wonderful meal! Best Chinese food we had in NYC, or anywhere else for that matter. Price was reasonable and service was very good.

Today we went to Noodle Village for lunch. While the found was authentic the spicy pork lo Mein and Scallion pancake were rather oily, Xiao Long Bao were ok

Delicious, but VEGETARIANS BE WARNED (and there is a warning at the top of the menu but I missed it, so you can miss it too if you're going by muscle memory) SHRIMP DUMPLINGS has MEAT mixed with it. otherwise, classy, simple joint with great flavors. One other thing, one of the cooks was eating next to us, a fried whole fish over rice----looked great, so I asked what that was, and the wait staff said it wasn't available because it was the "family meal." Fine, I asked if there was a fish entree in the menu? And he said, "Didn't you hear what I said?" Was that dumb/redundant of me to ask if there was a fish entree if what the cook was eating wasn't available?

I came because I read that the Wonton soup was good. It was perfectly fine. Good taste in the broth. Would probably not go back for it though. There was really good free tea that came with the meal.

Soup dumplings (pork and crab meat) a must. Gentle while picking one up, if you pop it, the juices will come out. Delicious soup noodles, chicken Lo mein, and hot pot rice. Quick and friendly service.

The best part about this place is the variety the menu offers. You can get noodle soups, congee, rice noodle, cheurng fun, xiao lung bao and pretty much anything you would want in a chinese congee/noodle cafe. They don't have the best noodles, congee or xlb in town but it's the one spot where you can get all 3. 4 stars for variety and cleanliness.

Wandering around chinatown in the evening we randomly opted for this place. Without infamy and without praise, full there was only more a table for 6 and we took advantage. Interesting dim sum. To review the meat in the broth. You can choose between ramen and udon. Average prices

We found this place by looking on Trip Advisor. Wanted to try something in Chinatown. Place was packed with locals, which was a good sign. Food was pretty good, but not your typical American version of Chinese food. Go in with an open mind. Fried pork dumplings were the best thing I tried. Helpful staff and our meal for 8 people was $80! Very good value for the amount of food. More fun to order a bunch of different things and share to get get variety. Soups were good and served in huge bowls.

Asked for brisket n tendon over rice, some digusting slop was given to me, couldnt really eat it, picked at some meat, spat it out, too chewy, got up to pay n leave cause i couldnt see my waitress, this other waitress screamed at the lady i was doing a runner, and was so ashamed when she noticed the $20 bill in my hand. Just bad ignorant vulgar mannerless behaviour. Dont bother.

Decided to visit this restaurant for lunch as it appeared busy and patronize by Chinese. Ordered the fish ball noodles soup and the claypot chicken rice. The fishball noodles was quite a small serve and there were only 4'fishball. Rather small serve for the price The claypot chicken rice was acceptable without any wow factor. There are better restaurants in Chinatown

One of very few wonton ( with whole shrimp) noodles that are close to al dente Hong Kong style; do not miss the Ox Tails and feast on congee to keep warm in cold winter. Reminder: cash only. But u can bring your own favorite beer or wine.

It was raining and cold. We felt like something warm to take the edge off and stumbled into Noodle Village (one of the few recommended places without a long lineup). We were seated right away given cups of hot tea. The highlight was a plate of "Soup Dumplings" where the soup is INSIDE the dumpling and you have to (as was demonstrated by my neighbour at the next table) by clutching the dumplings at the top and sliding the spoon underneath at the same time to rescue the liquid inside. Don't bother with the side sauces. Just fine and very tasty on its own. We followed it up with a couple of dumpling and noodle soups (small was plenty for us) and all was right with the world.

This place has the best soup dumplings and they manage to survive a delivery order! I also love their fried cruller that goes perfectly well with their congee, this review is making me so hungry I need to place another order!

粥麵軒 (Noodle Village ) serves authentic Cantonese style noodles and light food. The traditional Won Ton Noodle soup reflects what i got from Hong Kong. The other must have is the Deep Fried Won Ton comes with Sweet & Sour Dipping sauce. I have never been able to find this dish in New York until Noodle Village. The other my favorite is Deep Fried Fish Skin. believe it or not, it is not fishy at all. This is also a dish i can only find in this Noodle place. This little eatery is clean, a must have for me to eat again. with the Food, I rate this place NO.1 for the Cantonese Noodle and snacks.

I like Chinese food. A lot. But I didn't like this. The place is a cafe and I was looking forward to tasting some authentic, tasty food. I ordered the noodle soup with beef brisket and tendon. The noodles were not as good as packet noodles. The beef was tasteless. The soup was fishy. This may be an authentic Chinese experience, but if so, I would rather have a westernised version.

Various combinations of family and friends have accompanied me over several years. First introduced to us by a Chinese friend of one of my daughters, we have returned when spending time in lower Manhattan. Great place for dumplings, soups, and other small plates. As noted by several other reviewers, if you have allergies or other specific dietary needs, it might be difficult to communicate to the servers. Just about everything we have ordered has been great. Order a few dishes, see if you are hungry and order more as needed. The menu is extensive. They do serve beer.

Definitely a great choice to add to a dumpling crawl! The wrappers of the pork dumplings were thin and perfectly cooked- almost al dente! The broth had a touch of ginger that added a twist! We also had pork chow fun which was delish! Very enjoyable!

It’s hard to choose a restaurants in Chinatown if you don’t know. There are so many, with different cuisines, and look. Some look great and some dont. But don’t be fool, you know the saying “don’t judge a book from its cover.” When it comes to Village Noodle, it has the appeal and the food is good. Been here many times, the food is great and tasty and consistant. It is quite an extended menu, so good luck picking dishes! We went for the curry beef, a noodle dish and Shanghai dumplings. The service fast and simple (mind you don’t except a top notch service in Chinatown , once you know that, you will be fine). The place is clean. It’s cash only.

Service was brilliant and we were given recommendations which was helpful. The food is authentic, so not heavily flavoured like some Chinese outlets. Very light flavours and the seafood was very plentiful. Very reasonably priced for NY.

Everything I've tried here is good! Different kinds of congee, chili squid, noodles with shrimp roe, hotpots and wanton noodles. Must must try restaurant when in Chinatown!

We ask for Briket and it was a very small dish and soo greasy !! Then we asked for a vegetable soup and it had an awful fish flavor, the vegetables came in a very tasteless fish soup. The shrimp-pork wonton soup was made in that same fish soup which had a very bad- strong taste. The waitress was very impatient too so our experience was really bad!! I wasted money and time because we went all the way to Mott street from Broadway!!

One of my boys and I had oxtail curry and it was excellent. Another son had seafood ramen that he loved. My sister-in-law fried rice that she said she liked and the fried wontons were excellent. My wife and brother both had brisket, in curry and in ramen and my wife said hers was about 70% fat and my brother said he could not any meat in his dish; only fat. Other than that it was a great experience. Server was friendly and attentive for the most part

Hubby and I tried coming here before but had no luck, too crowded. This time we got lucky! The menu looks so good with different types of noodle dishes plus dumplings and others too. First, the hostess tried to sit us right at the front but we didn't like the seat due to too much traffics and small space between the aisle. The hostess didn't know we would order many different dishes that need a bigger space. We asked for an empty table by the wall in the middle section and spacious, so she gave us that table. Nice! We started ordering the clams, Chinese broccoli, cuttlefish, soy sauce eggs, soup dumplings, seafood dumpling lo mein, shrimp dumpling, scallion pancake, and chicken lollipops. Wow! We ate all that? Yes! Because each portion is small and we took our time to finish it. To be honest, we really didn't have to order the lollipop chicken and scallion pancake but Hubby wanted to try them. The best dish is clam. I must get this one again! The taste was so flavorful. It's nothing like Asian sauce but combination of all the best ingredients but I don't know what those ingredients are. Chinese broccoli was made perfectly, crunchy too! The fact that they offer different size of vegetable plates is awesome. So we picked the smallest plate with reasonable price and had a lot of vegetable in that small plate. The shrimp dumpling was another good dish. Cuttlefish was the reason I wanted to come in because I saw the picture outside the restaurant. However this dish couldn't beat the clam. The seafood dumpling Lo Mein was quite tasty. It comes with vegetable around it and dumplings on top. The soup dumpling was ok but I liked shrimp dumpling better. Scallion pancake was pretty good. Overall service was pretty good. They got a name tag on, so it's easy to address and call them. At the end we left happy and the hostess suggested that we come back for more. Ha ha!

The dumplings are so good here that we went twice during our visit to New York City. The place is tiny so expect to be a bit cramped. You may also have to wait a bit but the service is lightning fast so the tables turn very quickly. The menu is in both Mandarin and English so it is pretty easy to navigate. You can also ask for recommendations. Highly recommend!

Be sure to have the soup dumplings. We got both the pork and crab. Both delectable. Be careful to pull them up gently otherwise the soup will leak out. We had some other items, but the soup dumplings were the highlight. Service was quick and efficient. Great value. There were 6 of us and the meal only cost us about $60.

Good food, great service. Very helpful to the clueless tourists!! Our server was very nice and on top of it. Quick service. Highly recommend if in Chinatown.

The best congee and soup dumplings ever. You have got to go here and you have got to try them. It's so good that they're getting a 5 from me even though the customer service kinda sucks lol

I run a school trip to New York every year and this was the second year that we ate at Noodle Village. The staff are very friendly and accomadating, and were able to seat 17 of us this year. The food is really yummy (i had chicken noodle soup) and you get huge portions for good prices. We were the only non-Asians eating in the restaurant, which i guess gives you an indication of how authentic the food is. I really liked the location too, a quiet corner of Chinatown.

A good place to go for simple wonton soup. But they also have an expansive menu featuring soup, noodle and dumplings options you will not find anywhere else in Chinatown. Their congee is warming on a cold winter day!

Stopped here for lunch after dining at Wo Hop (two doors up at 17 Mott St) several nights earlier. Much preferred Noodle Village. Unlike Wo Hop the customers were primarily Chinese, it was at street level cf a crowded subterannean fire trap and the dishes were also lighter, healthier and cheaper. A good cheapie for a quick and cheerful meal.

Found this place on the way from Brooklyn bridge walk. Surprisingly it turned out to be one of our most favourite places in to eat out in NYC. The food was delicious and the prices are incredibly cheap comparing to other NY cafes and restaurants. We ordered dumpling and noodle soup (the portion was pretty big) and the cost was around 12 $ per person.

We live Chinese food, but I'm afraid what we call Chinese food at home isn't very authentic! This was a cool place in China Town and you literally feel like you've left the country and are in China! We ordered the shrimp wonton soup, chicken fried rice, chicken lo mien and lollipop chicken wings. All was very good and very authentic. Another person said they only got chop sticks but we were actually given both and encouraged to try to use the chop sticks. Worth the trip!

If you are looking for an affordable meal in Chinatown and like pork soup dumplings, Noodle Village is a good option. Fast and cheap.

The soup dumplings here are pretty legit. I came in with two friends on a Friday night at around 7 when we wanted a tasteful meal, but we were all on a budget. That's when one of them suggested soup dumplings at Noodle Village. I haven't had many authentic soup dumplings. They usually come from a plastic bag from the freezer section of a Chinese supermarket. Plus, Noodle Village was on my bookmarks list so I was definitely down to try this place out. The place was pretty full but luckily, we didn't have to wait for a table. The food takes a bit longer to come out than most Chinese restaurants, but it's worth the wait. We ordered the pork soup dumpling and the crab meat soup dumplings and each came with 6 pieces. They came out piping hot. The broth in the dumplings was flavorful, but didn't seem too fatty (like Joe's Shanghai). We also ordered a clay pot rice dish and the beef with ginger and scallion lo mein. The rice was great - it had that perfect crust at the edges. I wasn't huge fan of the lo mein because it was made with egg noodles, which I'm not a huge fan of. However, the ginger and scallion gave it a really great flavor. Add some of their house hot sauce and it actually make those noodles more tolerable. One of my friends I was with said that she loves the wonton noodle soup here, so I'll definitely be back to give that a try and to order some more soup dumplings.
I've been in the 90's at the historical "13 Mott Street". The new restaurant in the location, "Noodle Village" is equally very n
Very good fish soop with fresh and fragrant ingredients. Good service and incredible low prices. I was there with 2 sons and also them (12 and 15) were fascinated by the place!
