wow the food here is amazing! a lot of places near by but no one makes food like them! everyone was so amazing, told my friends and family about this place, I can’t wait to be back! I will be back and will tell everyone about how great your fooood is!

I heard good reviews of Obao and was not disappointed when I finally went. Really delicious food, nice staff, and a relaxing atmosphere.

Lovely spot! Great food and prompt, friendly service. And what a treat — Happy Hour drinks and apps 5-7! All was tasty and just the right spice and flavor.

We had a great dinner here, it was a lovely ambiance, our server was nice and the service was quick!

A good Vietnamese cuisine experience, in a very crowded place. The menu offers plenty of dishes, we tried four and they were good (I would not say very good, just "good"). Probably too much crowded to offer the best cuisine.

Having seen so many great reviews and the restaurants rating we were excited to try this. Food was good (but not amazing); they were out if many of the most popular dishes; service was actually below average which surprised me. Having tried a number of the other top rated restaurants around 9th, Obao wouldn’t be my first choice again.

Nice little place. Crowded and buzzing. We had calamari, salt and pepper shrimp, ribs and basil rice. It was all very good but not amazing. Would definitely not hesitate to visit but I guess there are other Thai places that are even better. Very nice and fast service. Delicious cocktails.

I like the atmosphere of the restaurant. The lady showing us seats is really nice and helpful. Will surely recommend!

My friend and I decided to check out another Thai food place and here we were. The entire street is pretty much occupied by outside seatings from various restaurants. We got Alex as our friendly waiter. He was a one-man show running around doing everything. Go Alex! We ordered some "summer" drinks although it wasn't a hot day. We both ordered papaya salad to start with. I thought the salad was all right, average. Then my friend ordered the vegetable green curry and I had vegetable drunken noodle or pad kee mao (not meow). I tried my friend's green curry and I thought that was one of the best I've ever tasted. The broth wasn't too creamy nor watery and the combination of different vegetables was perfect. I thought I had made a mistake by not ordering the green curry. However, after having my first bite of my drunken noodles, I knew I made the right choice, it was extremely delicious! I'm aware that pad kee mao is delicious but this one is better than most. I highly recommend both entrees. This place has plenty of drinks, plenty of food and plenty of friendliness, just stop in and say hello to Thai food from the menu! Enjoy!

Excellent food and friendly atmosphere. Our waitress was very knowledgeable. Highly recommended. We will surely come again

My wife and I had dinner in the restaurant's outdoor shelter during the COVID pandemic. The blend of flavors in my chicken green curry was perfect.

Excellent dining experience. Great entrees and apps. The Phad Thai and Pho is superb! Service is friendly. A must try!

I went in for lunch with my service animal and was refused service by the manager before I was even allowed to sit down. The manager demanded I show a certification for my service animal. This was humiliating. There is no legal certification required for service animals in the U.S. under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). I tried to calmly explain this, but it didn’t matter. I was still turned away. My service animal was quiet, well-behaved, and under full control. There was absolutely no valid reason to deny me service. Being stopped at the door and questioned about my disability in front of others made me feel singled out, discriminated against, and deeply embarrassed. What made this worse is that this wasn’t a confused host or server. It was the manager who made the decision. That means this wasn’t a misunderstanding, but a choice. No one should be made to feel unwelcome or less than because they rely on a service animal. This experience was demeaning and completely avoidable. I’m sharing this so others are aware and in the hope that OBAO Midtown takes responsibility and educates their management and staff on ADA compliance.

I have been to Obao last month. This restaurant was busy. I ordered Yellow Curry dish “KhoiSoi” and it was really great. Also cocktail here so delicious and service is awesome. Overall. Perfect!

My family have a small lunch on the restaurant. Experience Vietnamese food and culture. Unique recipe,

My dad was visiting NYC for the evening and staying in the neighborhood so we decided to stop in here for dinner. We were seated immediately and the service was great. Not to mention, the food was delicious. I had the Pad Thai, which I highly recommend. I’ll definitely be coming back!

The food is good with authentic cuisine. The ambience is great. I enjoyed the drinks and would love to visit this place again.

Made the trip for a quick lunch to try the 2nd best place in NYC as per TripAdvisor. I don’t get it at all, I started with the mushroom dumplings, the presentation looked nice, but they had no taste (microwaved) next I had the Duck noodle dish. The flavor was nice but the laziness of placing the noodle on chopped up romaine lettuce didn’t work. This all coupled with being say at a dirty table outside during COVID, not cool.

We liked it but we were expecting a bit more sophistication with the dishes. sea food dishes and noodles were good

Great service, tasty food and cocktails, convenient location and nice ambiance. What more could you ask for? Ordered the fried dumplings, pad see iew, and a “sipping emotions” cocktail.

First night in NYC. Quick look on trip advisor shows this place around the corner. We walked in without a reservation no problem. Really friendly staff. Warm welcome. Fast and efficient service. Remembered our entire order without a notepad! Food was served quickly. Tasty, authentic and really great food. Recommend a visit. Doesn’t disappoint.

Food and service were great! The pho bo is awesome and this location is our favorite. Always so clean and tasty with a great atmosphere!

Listen, the food was fueg. Complexly cooked, yet simple at the same time. So good I couldn't wait to write the review, I did it while eating. Chicken pad with eggs cooked to the highest degree. Thanks for the privilege of eating here.

Great food and service love the food and drinks here. I have been coming here for past six years and they have always been great!

Shrimp Tom Yum soup is delicious. We were 9 and ordered several dishes all very good, the service good and the bar tender very willing to make drinks you do not know

Just ate dinner here- great for a bite and drinks after work! Share a bunch of apps with friends, and get yourself a cocktail...or two :)

Really unique cocktails and a cool atmosphere! Great place for a night out with friends. The kimchi fries are my favorite!

Service was quick. Food was delicious. Great place to celebrate birthdays (ask for the birthday special).

Good service! Also, the location is great. You can walk from Central Park or 5th Avenue. I had pad see ew which was really good.

My new go to for pho in midtown East! So fresh! So flavorful! So fast! Not to mention the stellar reviews, drink specials and incomparable steamed dumplings! Happy girl! -Leah

We visited OBAO on a recent Saturday afternoon and very much enjoyed dining there. The restaurant got filled up quite quickly, so if you want to have a good spot and try their signature dishes, it might be a good idea to go there before the big crowd arrives. (We were there at 12:30) As someone from Asia, I found food at OBAO surprisingly tasty. Really appreciate all the vegetarian options. Reasonable price and nice setting. Staffs were friendly and attentive. We would visit again!

Super delicious calamari and pork belly. And the Khao soi is the perfect balance of spicy and rich. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic south east Asian restaurant in midtown!

We called with short notice and we’re able to reserve a table for 7. Small location but they were able to accommodate on a Saturday night. Food was very good and so were the drinks. My wife ordered a dish that ended up being very spicy but it was not indicated as such on the menu and they quickly replaced it. Location looks a little run down but the servers were nice. They didn’t bring the food out all at the same time which I found odd. Good value for the money. Appetizers and main meals were all very good. I would return again.

Had the pad Thai absolutely delicious. Service was top notch too. And very reasonable prices - wish I lived in New York so I could visit all the time!

Great Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. Great atmosphere and perfect portion sizes! Really good Pad See Ew

My favorite Thai food in NY! Very accommodating and no reservation was necessary for a weeknight out.

Food is great, experience service very fast and friendly. So you have to try Lobster Pad Thai so good! Don’t be late for happy hour Cocktails so very yummy!

good food, good drinks, good service Nice place for tourists like me In the heart of new-york good location

Very fast service and delicious food. The calamari and papaya salad are delicious. Claypot catfish was so yummy. Fantastic! a flavor

I came here with a few friends during lunch time, and was not disappointed. The pork belly and fried calamari are my go-to appetizers, and typically order the pad Thai or pho. Service is great, and the food is delicious.

One of the favourite dining experiences of our NY holiday. Loved the vibe & decor when we entered, staff super friendly and helpful. Loved the asian fusion cocktails and the food was fantastic.....part Vietnamese, part Thai. Prices are reasonable by NY standards. Would recommend this place to anyone who's craving Asian food while in NY.

Cozy environment, friendly staff. Great food, medium sized portions. Would recommend. Delicious food.

Fun and cozy Thai restaurant my wife and I love to visit in our neighborhood. In addition to serving delicious, authentic Thai dishes, they also make great cocktails!

Best location, excellent happy hour, great drinks beautiful staff, explained the menu perfectly so polite the staff here needs a promotion

This palace is a regular for me from work. Cute little place with lovely service and some great food! The pad see iew has become my staple paired with a glass of Pinot Grigio or “sipping emotions”. Highly recommend this for a cozy 5th date plus they’re super convenient with take out!

I went to Obao with my family who visit me. My fam doesnt really like American food that much, so we tried Obao. We start with fried dumpling, which are awesomee. We had pad thai, pad see ew, and cashew chili chicken. It was so good, and my fam are happy. It suit their taste as well. I'll def comeback again!

it used to be so good! we have been coming here for years. it’s just not anymore. i don’t know what happened? shrimp soup was fishy. spring rolls used to be so delicious now just average. we ordered like seven different dishes. all just bland. the crowds are gone too. chef leave? change in ownership? high food costs leading to short cuts? something else? not sure why but we won’t come back again.

So delicious and such a good vibe!! Great service, great music and delicious food. Will definitely come back

I was absolutely starving when we walked in and within a few minutes we had our appetizers and at a reasonable time after we devoured them we got our mains no wait at all! Great house cocktail we both ordered the Obao and loved it. Our server was prompt and advised us as to the best way to navigate our night. We will definitely be back!!!

The place looks dirty, two huge flies were flying optimistically across the restaurant throughout our stay, coming very close to our food; there were also small flies on the wall next to our table, menus are greasy and hard to read. The place needs a really good cleaning. The staff was nice and pleasant but I could not enjoy the food because it just felt unsafe to eat.

Very welcoming, excellent and attentive service. The food was very good and arrived very quickly and it was excellent value, We'll definitely be coming back.

Food was great. Lots of different dishes to choose from. We were able to get both viet and Thai dishes. Quick and friendly service.

We went there to have a drink, the place is nice and the service very professional. There’s a large choice of cocktail, and even though we didnt eat, it smelled really good !

Really great food, nice environment, quick service, and very accommodating! One dish was incorrect but very quickly updated to include everything we asked for

Wonderful food! Visited with friends and we got a variety of pho and appetizers and shared. Lots of great, flavorful options!

Please get spiced calamari. One of the best appetizers I've ever had. Laksa was good and minced beef basil rice (forgot the exact name) was on point. Def would come back again 👍👍

First time dining here and it was delicious. We had the Bun Bo Hue, Khao Soi with crispy duck confit and the Vietnamese Pork Chops. The portions were large so we had enough to take home for another meal. The Pho’s were distinctly different and so flavorful. The pork chops were tender you didn’t need a knife. The server was so sweet and accommodating. We didn’t have drinks but the cocktail menu looked great. The decor is very comfy. I would highly recommend Obae.

Amazing dinner. Totally unexpected. We enjoyed so many wonderful dishes this evening. We got a table in the back for five people. The best dishes were: pad kee mao, Short rib massaman curry (made with sweet potatoes), Sambal spiced calamari, Vietnamese chicken wings, crispy pork belly Chinese broccoli, and Spare ribs with honey tamarind glaze. We would definitely go back!

It was my turn to pick a place for dinner, so of course Obao was my neighborhood favorite. We got the salt and pepper shrimp (5/5), beef Penang (5/5, pad ke iew (4/5). The drinks were also great. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, just try during happy hour and in general!

We arrived having booked our reservation over the phone BUT it was not in their book. Nevertheless despite being very busy we were seated anyway so were grateful. The place was very busy but the staff were attentive. The food was average and lacked depth of flavour. It was reasonably priced but it was still average food.

They do have an amazingly good Pho and good Thai dishes. Service is fast and the waiter a quite friendly. You can see the kitchen and the cooks preparing the dishes from the bar.

I thought the food was very good. I am eating plant based so I had the tofu and eggplant and it was very good. I also had the veggie dumplings and those were delicious.

Staff is always super responsive, food is delicious and brought out super fast (even when crowded). Price point is great for the amount of food you get.

I came here for a birthday party and OMG, what a place. The service, hand and foot. The food, words can’t describe. So. WOW. OBAO.

Food was excellent. Atmosphere was fun. The drinks were very well crafted and delish. I highly recommend this place!

Great restaurant family friendly. Best Pad Thai in this side of town! Also their happy hour is a great deal on both drinks & appetizers :)

quick service during lunch happy hour! pad kee mao tofu was tasty - would recommend! obao cocktail was also good

Loved this place and the staff was nice, I think Obao is the best restaurant for seafood.. also they have delicious salads and side dishes.. will come back for more delicious meals when in New York.. cudos

We tried this place for dinner and it was awesome. The food is great and the service is really good too. Definitely recommend the pho!

Yum food! We got the calamari, pad kee mao and the Kra pow. Just enough spice but not too much. Def will be coming back!

Stopped by on Friday night.l made a reservation so they seated me suddenly. My server was very friendly.l ordered bun bo hue.lt was hot and spicy. The broth was well flavored.l’ll be back to try something different.

The pork belly and salt & pepper shrimp are my favorite. Shrimp pad Thai paired with Riesling is amazing. Service is super good and super fast. There’s sometimes a line at the door but it’s worth the wait. Come to Obao - East side location is my GoTo.

Great place to have a party. Amazing foodie. Delicious food, great noodles and dumplings! They have a back room in the backside

Excellent noodles and pho! We made reservations for Saturday night and the place was packed and boisterous! New Zealand was one of the Michelin recommended dishes (other was the Pho). Very flavorful meat and tasty noodles. Service was attentive and fast for such a busy place. Next time I will try the pork belly dishes!

Awesome happy hour. Great staff! Very friendly. Kimchee fries are terrific. OBAO cocktail is killer!

The modern, lively setting made it a perfect spot for a romantic evening. The menu offered a creative mix of Asian-inspired dishes, each bursting with fresh, bold flavors. We particularly enjoyed the crispy spring rolls and the flavorful noodle dishes. The service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. While the prices were on the higher side, the quality and presentation of the food justified it. For couples seeking a vibrant dining experience in Midtown, Obao is a great choice.

Don't get me wrong. Food was good. But nothing better than a good food court Vietnamese in Australia. Probably got off to a bad start because we showed up for a 5pm reservation at 4.55 and we were told the place didn't open until 5pm so I said to the man (appeared to be manager/ owner) "Okay I'll just wait out in the rain then" to which he nodded "Yes". We then stood outside in rain until a lady came to the door at 5.02pm. One of the Waiters was lovely. Very funny. Cheap cold beers and nice dumplings. Laksa lacked flavour. Chilli couldn't fix it. Overall Absolute B.S. this should be this highly rated. Visited several restaurants with much better with friendlier service, better food and nicer atmosphere in NYC

Nice restaurant with nice table decoration The kitchen is good and a bit up but the prices are expensive It is not very plentiful and the bbq advertised as a specialty is served in small quantities at prices close to $30

Bad people. We came 4 min after our reservation time and they wouldn't let us in. This is not the appropriate way to welcome costumers

Really buzzing restaurant on a Saturday evening, make sure you do a reservation. Calamari really good! And the lobster noodles also top dish!

Don't let the slightly dingy decor discourage you from eating at OBAO because there is some really solid thai food here. My table ordered the pad thai, massaman curry, and chinese broccoli. I thought the meat in the curry was a little cry (which is odd for on-bone meat). The pad thai is different than some of the other pad thais I've had (the noodles are much thinner). However, I enjoyed the change.

Amazing flavours, great service. The food come pretty fast. Nice atmosphere. Very enjoyable lunch. The calamari, Kim chi fries, the crab fried rice, duck noodles and the green curry out of this world.

Great service! Incredible food! And you guessed it, exceptional service. Obao will forever go down as one of the best noodle and bar joints in Midtown East. Try the vegetables dumplings if looking to spice up your day ;)

This place had delicious food at really reasonable prices. I would definitely recommend this place and come back.

My daughter and I were staying near Rockefeller Center and wanted to eat someplace less touristy and less pricy, but still good. Obao Midtown was perfect. The food was excellent, as was the service. The atmosphere was quite good as well. We greatly enjoyed the Sambal Spiced Calamari appetizer. My daughter studied for a semester in Vietnam and her pho did not disappoint. I'm more of a Thai food fan and thought the chicken green curry some of the best I've ever had.

Yummy pad Thai and flunkflink !! Will come again for lunch surely. Great location and ambience with vegetarians options

I came into the restaurant for take out but decided to dine in. The staff is very nice and efficient, all the food came out hot and fresh. The drink fig a Tini was well made and tasty. I recommend the restaurant for lunch or dinner.

Came here with a friend for dinner. The food is great and the service is good too. Recommend the pho!

Loved the food and service. Really enjoyed the appetizers and drinks along w the meal Will definitely recommend and come back in the future.

Great service and the happy hour deal is really good. We got a 10 dollar sake for just 5. I always order Kao Soi and this place delivered, it was great.

I loved the Oysters and how they prepared it, and thr new octopus dumplings and the Duck Ramen is my favorite..

The food was delicious , service is excellent !They are the best! Thank you for good ending our weekend!

If you are looking for some good Pho, go here. Place is real nice, good for any type of occasion really. The service was great, although there was only one server. He was awesome. I can't remember his name!! But he was great. My friend had some calamari and we almost ordered a third meal. Super recommend!

Great food and great service. Highly recommend. The food was amazing and the service was great! Best meal so far on our trip!

We often go to Obao because is near our place and we like it very much - food is nice, cocktails are great, service is super fast and the menu is rather extensive. Dishes are well prepared with fresh ingredients (I.e. you can actually see the chef chopping away lovely veggies etc). Excellent value for money. I highly recommend it!

Great food loved the restaurant and service! Service was amazing. The pad Thai was especially amazing and we love the service here. Would definitely recommend coming back again

Woke up with a cold on a rainy NYC and this place hit the spot with a nice bowl of pho with rare flank steak! My hubby’s Cashew Chili Chicken was a hot, too! Thanks, OBAO! 💜✌️

Legitimately A must try restaurant around NYC. Doesn’t matter what I get I end up liking it. They make one of the most delectable I have ever had in downtown and probably the best Pho I’ve had in NYC. THE STAFFS here also provided a great service with wide smiles on their faces especially Korn and Koi.

Awesome food and vibes. We ordered an Asian fusion cocktails while waiting for our food. It was awesome. Service is very attentive and polite. We will keeping in our list for next NYC visit.

Terrific Asian restaurant, well worth a visit. Could be easy to pass on by without referring to the reviews. So glad we popped in because it's very good food and reasonably priced. Authentic, quirky cuisine and attentive service. Happy hour until 6 on drinks also. What's not to love!

Amazing! Pork belly is delicious, steamed broccoli tasty and the steamed dumpling are flawless. Service was amazing, getting rarer and rarer in nyc.

Very convenient location in the heart of new york. Cool vibe. Tasty food. Good drinks! Would definitely recommend and come back when in NYC.

Discreet and quality service. Restaurant not pretentious but which imposes by the quality and flavors of its dishes Everything was very good from starter to dessert, to tea.

Fantastic and consistent food and service. My go to after work! Not too expensive and the ambiance is perfect.

Very nice Very polite Food was fresh and live tasting Not over cooked or reheated I would go again, I suggest trying it

Very good Vietnamese food with a modern touch. Good atmosphere as well, although a bit smallish. Would go there again.

Great food, great vibe and experience inside, the cocktails were also amazing. The venue was very clean, staff very attentive, definitely go back

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time at Obao! We had the steamed dumplings and two noodle dishes. The food was fresh and t flavours creative. Would definitely recommend!

Our dining experience was outstanding, largely due to our server, Beer! The dishes were flavorful, and the serving sizes were just right. We’ll definitely return!

I am a fan of Malaysian Laksa soup noodles so what a treat to find them here, bright flavors, rich broth, mmm so good.

Can’t wait to come back. They had several Michelin rated dishes. The food and drinks were delicious!!!

What an amazing place!!!! The food, the service, the place. If you come to New York you should not miss it! It come back for sure next time that I’m in New York!

This is the highest rated NY restaurant on TripAdvisor? That can't be, they must have hacked the algorithm. Too sweet, no chili, dull, and not great service (though fast).

SAVAGE restaurant. Super fast service, good food. ALSO if there was a 6th star I would give it 6 stars. Actually dank. May even have them cater my wedding... I'm not even Thai.

Stumbled upon this lovely place and loved everything. The staff were warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. The menu isn’t overwhelming, and the wine list is uncomplicated which is perfect. We had the dumplings, chicken wings, laksa and curry chicken noodle dish. Can’t pick a favourite. Looking forward to coming back!

Very authentic NYC style Vietnamese restaurant. Simple seating in an aisle. The food was excellent and the service was personal and friendly. We had the Dumplings, Vietnamese and papaya salad and the summer rolls. For mains, pho soup, green curry, garlic noodles, and cashew fried chicken. The green curry was on the spicy side. Otherwise, all delicious. The prices are all reasonable. Not NYC style. We can highly recommend.

Stopped by on a whim for a quick dinner and drinks. Very good happy hour menu and very nice atmosphere. Cute, intimate space. Incredible quick service

I’ve visited this restaurant august 2024 and I really enjoyed it. Its fairly cheap for New York standards yet the food was very good. I had the Shrimp Tom Yum Soup and the Vietnamese Pork Chop. Both dishes had a good balance. I especially liked the Pork Chop. The honey added a lot of character to the dish.

Food is tasty and service was great. Also, drinks were strong for happy hour. I definitely recommend this restaurant, especially for dinner.

We had a very yummy vegan lunch here. Dumplings were delicious as well as the vegan bun bowl and an eggplant and tofu entree. Meal was light while also satisfying.

Excellent service and delicious food! Awesome ambiance too! The back space is great for entertaining! The back room has a tree and has indoor heating

we had pad see u, sambal calamari, fried dumplings. Everything was so good! Also i visited during happy hours so the price was reasonable too.

Great food, really enjoyed what I had! The service is also very good and super fast. Highly recommend here.

Great sit down restaurant to enjoy dinner in here!! PadThai so very good I really it!! Server so very fast and nice! whatever we’ll be back.

This is one of the best asian restaurant, shrimps pad Thai was over the top, friendly staff excellent service, bravo!

appetizer is awesome! I love spicy calamari. Highly recommend. The first entree is also good. Beef, onion with rice. This is a nice place!

The food was amazing! nice people working in the restaurant! love it recommended pork belly ,pho and beef curry

Considering that prices in NYC can be a total absurdity - even for simple Asian dishes with a mediocre quality, this place stands out. It is all I want from a small Asian food shop, no fancy interior but a solid selection of dishes at a reasonable price point. The quality was really good, food was prepared fast despite the place being full to the last table and the service was extremely friendly. I will be back for more!

We went for happy hour and had a great time highly recommended friendly service and quiet vibe service was friendly and nice

Best Thai restaurant in this area!! This a great restaurant The food is amazing and the staff so very great. So If you like cocktails come here!!

Great food! The Khao Soi, Pork Belly appetizer, and Green Tea and chocolate dessert were all absolutely delicious!

I love OBAO. I've been going to OBAO in Hell's Kitchen for years and my first visit here didnt disappoint either. Happy hour deals include discounted drinks and apps. Highly recommend the pork belly. Love the fig-a-tini. And the pho, bun bo hue, bun, and desserts too. Always a good time when I go to OBAO.

I went there together with my close friend.we started with fried dumplings.lt was very good. For the entree we had the pad se ew and cashew chili chicken. Both tasted delicious.will come back soon.

Ordered pad kee mao and laksa - tasted great! Good atmosphere and reasonable prices. Service was good as well

Amazing restaurant in NYC. Tasty food, good quality, fast service and great prices. Excellent!!!. Definitely a must in your NYC trip

We had three entrees, all excellent. Service was great. Cocktails were great. Wow! Higly recommended

eveything is ok especially seafoods are pretty good. you can try everything if you like seafoods. not to salty and sweet. you like that?

Came here after work for a quick meal. The pork belly is. A must order- really crispy skin with juicy tender meat. Excellent complementary with a glass of red wine

Not memorable. We came here for a quick bite. Though the service was good, my basil duck was a bit too spicy. Will I be back? Probably Not!

This place is sooooooooo cute and the drinks are sooooooooooo so so sooooooo good! And food rocks! So glad we stumbled upon it!

The service here is amazing! Super attentive!! I will definitely be bringing my family back when they’re in town!

Dark restaurant, staff was nice. Food just mediocre. There are better restaurants nearby so try eleswhere.

The waiter was very nice and answered all of our questions and requests. and the food was amazing. Price was very reasonable also!

Good variety of food and everything I tried was delicious. Don’t miss the happy hour from 5pm to 7pm for drinks and appetizers.

Amazing Vietnamese food at very reasonable prices and tasty cocktails. Great for quick lunch or dinner.

We love this place! My boyfriend is vegetarian. Its really hard to find good vegetarian food for him but we found it! We ordered red curry with tofu, sauté eggplant with spicy garlic sauce and fresh shrimp rolls. The tofu was a little crispy and went very well with curry sauce. The spicy garlic sauce was on point not too spicy. All in all, the food was amazing and service was good.

My experience here at OBAO was great. We just got tired walking from the MET and want some Thai food so we ended up here. I ordered Luk Sa and my girlfriend ordered Pad Thai. The food came fast. They were both great in taste. Those shrimps were so fresh and pork belly were so tasty as well. After the food we ordered two desserts - Chocolate forest and Yuzu. Both desserts were also very flavourful. I love Yuzu, great combination of sour and sweet. We had a wonderful time and would love to come back here again.

Spring rolls are the bomb diggity! Perfect decibel level. No waiting and fast service! Waitress was friendly.

Food is great. Drink is amazing good. Good decoration to take a friend here. Very homey. Nice bow. They seems to use high end Chinese. It's not neither too loud and a good quiet place for a quant lunch on the weekend as this location isn't too crowded in comparison to their other locations. I'll be back for more good food and ambiance.

My beautiful partner and I needed a place for date night and of course she picked her neighborhood favorite. Everything was amazing, we came during happy hour- the obao cocktail is a must!

Very good food and 4 beers very cold ! The atmosphère was cosy and the music is funky and techno. We recommand it for sure ! Xoxo

When I arrived, the restaurant awning listed the name in Trip Advisor (Obao Midtown). It actually has become a Himalayan Curry House restaurant and not a Thai/Vietnamese cuisine. I decided to stay and have lunch. I had the appetizer Ragda Patties, a combination of potatoes and chickpeas. It was different but good. Then I had Reshami Kabbab, a chicken dish made in the tandoor. It was well done and moist. So plan on a meal that is more indian than thai/Vietnamese. The service was excellent.

Terrible experience, rude staff, food really not authentic. Tripadvisor reviews not consistent abs not a true reflection to reality

We ordered pad see ew and the kalbi ribs and they were amazing! We will definitely be back to try everything on the menu

The reception is average+. We had a shrimp spring roll and another starter but a salad leaf was missing...then a good and well seasoned beef dish (?). with a bowl of rice. On the other hand, the glass of red wine was very average. All-inclusive bill with tip: €83

Really awesome ambiance and service. Not bad prices, either! I had the bo luc lac and I couldn’t recommend anything better

Belly full. Really delicious Thai food. I would recommend to anyone. Bring friends and come hungry. Enjoy!

Great Pho and Calamari. All the food we ordered was tasty and well served. Lovely Vietnamese food for a good price

Fun drinks and good atmosphere with the plants and lighting. Good food as well very nice staff. DEFINITELY come for your birthday. Great bday deal.

Coming from someone who has lived in Thailand, this food is authentic & delicious!! Definitely a must try in NYC

Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, great ambience. The wait time is quick and the food is spicy, sweet, sour, full of flavor. Great cocktails are a bonus!

We had to wait at the bar to be sitted and had some cocktails, tasty and well done. The food, taking from Asian tradition, was creative, like the pork belly bits wrapped in lettuce. The ingredients were fresh and crunchy. Intense and pleasant tastes. The service prompt. A very nice dinner. Better reserve a bit in advance.

Food was wonderful! Service was great! The drunken noodle was one of the best I’ve ever had. Enjoyed the happy hour specials on drinks!

We went here for happy hour, had good drinks and tasty appetizers, would recommend if you’re in the area
Excellent service and food.Great
Excellent service and food.Great ambiance.l ordered pho bo.lt came so fast.deep flavor.will come back again
