I have been going to this Ocean Prime for years. Have had investor / client dinners here, brought family and friends and everyone loves this Ocean Prime. The food is always amazing, service is also amazing and it's a beautiful and comfortable place to eat. Our dinner last night was sooo good and the service was amazing as usual from bartenders to our server! Will of course be back!

Too salty! Felt very much like the alaska halibut, but what a disappointment when it came, a large container of salt. Can't get rid of it. The appetizer, crabcake, was okay. The tuna as a main course, which my tablemates had ordered was fine. The shrimp cocktail, which was dipped in the ketchup (huh) was not okay. Don't go there!

What a great meal we had at Ocean Prime. Scallops and risotto perhaps the best I’ve ever experienced and my wife had the Halibut which was excellent as well. Our waiter was the best we had on our NYC trip and the setting (a nice booth in the main dining room) was just perfect. I even thought their wine list was reasonably priced. If you want great seafood, service and ambiance then visit Ocean Prime.

Ocean Prime serves amazing food and top wines. Service is always really great. Noisy kids were annoying during the evening.

We visited Ocean Prime on Saturday evening and were impressed with the menu. Cocktails and appetizers were fantastic. For a restaurant who touts their steaks, ours were a bit overcooked, but still good. Dessert was delicious as well. Unfortunately our waitress was very forgetful (came to the table 3 times to ask what we ordered for an appetizer because she forgot, delivered our drinks to the wrong table, came back to the table 2 times to ask what we ordered for dessert) but overall the experience was nice. I understand that restaurants are understaffed so I will assume the waitress was overworked. Good experience.

I was worried about being a solo diner because a lot of restaurants I had tried reserving at prior had to turned me away. My experience here was amazing! Had the crab cakes and chocolate peanut butter pie. Would recommend to anyone and if ever the chance will come back!

We visited this restaurant over 5 times already and in every visit is good. The meat is amazing, and also de entrances and the sushi. The service is also really good.

Phenomenal service above and beyond what I expected for a restaurant of this class. The Berries and Bubbles are a must try. I love that they offered popcorn as a gluten-free alternative to a bread basket. I had sushi as an appetizer, which was everything I was hoping for. Their entrees were expertly cooked as well, I can't wait to try more of their menu. Their "outdoor" dining area is fully enclosed, protected from the wind, equipped with space heaters, and is well decorated.

One of our favorites in NYC. Always good. The service is very attentive and fast but yet relaxed. Good food and a very decent wine list. Recommend!

Our party of 7 really enjoyed our dining experience. Ajet our server was very friendly and helpful. My wife and I shared the 22 oz. Bone-in Ribeye and it was cooked perfect and tasted delicious. Highly recommended.

The seafood freshness was better than anywhere else we ate during our vacation. Ocean Prime raised my bar on seafood taste.

This was a meal to celebrate my 50th & my daughter had liased from the UK with the restaurant to set the scene. The staff went above & beyond to look after us and ensure our visit was memorable. Totally nailed it. The food was sublime. Portion sizes were very generous and the menu offered a fantastic range that spoilt you for choice. We had no room really for dessert but were encouraged to accept their birthday treat to me and it rounded off a most perfect meal.

When in NY I try to avoid chain restaurants, however, Ocean Prime is an exception. The food, service and ambiance receive an A+. It was a busy Wednesday night but our server was funny and attentive. The food was very good and dessert surprisingly delicious. If the new "it" spot in NY is full, you will not be disappointed by Ocean Prime.

Food is very good. Servers look to be all under 40yo and their lack of experience and sophistication shows. Lack of wine list and menu knowledge, long waits, lots of chit chat and phone activity, but not attending to customers. Wine list was fair. No beers on tap and the can/bottle selection was mediocre. Paying over $300 for dinner for 2, I would expect a little more. But, its a chain, so...

I love this restaurant! I go at least once a week when I am in NY. The workers are really nice and the food is always good. You always get what you want. Always a good option for NY! The Butter cake is amazing! I love it.

The menu is a big problem. I wanted to try it all; really difficult to choose. Went for Lobster Bisque and Teriyaki Salmon. The bisque was amazing but the salmon was overcooked and dry. Service a bit uninspiring - felt like and looked like they had done this job for 30 years - no spark!

The food at Ocean Prime is absolutely out of this world! Tons of seafood options for those who don’t want a steak! For those who want a steak, it comes out cooked to perfection! Incredible dinner. My fiancé has a wardrobe malfunction, when her zipper on her dress broke, and Nico at the host stand took her aside and pinned her dress back together for her! Awesome stuff, will definitely return/recommend to anyone looking for a knock out dinner in NYC! Thanks Ocean Prime.

Excellent choices and service! Gordon was great recommending dishes and drinks. Food came out great especially the appetizers

Good food, fantastic atmosphere! We had a fantastic waiter, he was attentive and helpful. We tried many items on the menu, all were fantastic.

Group of 5 people, eating before a 7 pm curtain time. Seated promptly at a nice table. Ordered drinks. One showed up and the other did not. I like to sip my drink before dinner comes and finally had to ask two people, neither our waiter, if they could check on it. Our waiter, tho personable, was quite hard to find. Halibut was the best dish. Moist and flavorful. All else just okay. Lobster bisque good, but nothing special. Seafood cobb salad had nothing that distinguished it from any other of this ilk. We asked for off-menu plain sautéed shrimp for picky eater and though well-cooked was flavorless. Again, waiter was hard to find, and did not check in with us, though two hostess type young girls came by within minutes of each other to ask if we were okay. Then, when time for bill we needed to ask two people before our waiter showed up. All in all, for the prices you should be able to find a better experience and better food.

Great food, the best meal we had in New York! We liked it so much we went back 3 times over the 10 days while we were visiting New York. I loved the ambiance - modern yet cozy at the same time. The customer service was excellent - timely and welcoming. A special thanks to Gella!

We booked a table here for a special dinner for my husbands birthday on a trip to NY, we were not disappointed. We were allocated a table in a private section of the restaurant. The restaurant itself was very busy and had a great atmosphere. Our Waiter was awesome and very attentive. We ordered some sushi to begin and this was by far the best sushi I have ever tasted. The flavours were awesome. We all had steak which was so tender and cooked to perfection. At the end of the evening after mentioning it was my husbands birthday they brought out a cake - such a lovely touch. I would totally recommend visiting here if you are in NY and hopefully I will get the chance to revisit.

We went for the prix fixe theatre menu but found it to be very pedestrian so we ordered off the regular dinner menu. Look, we pay big money for good food (recently paid $250 and $400/person for delicious multi-course meals) but, this is/was just ridiculous; never again. The steak tartar was absolutely delicious, would buy it again all-day-long, every time, but $15 for each 3 ounce wine pour is a joke (they should be ashamed). The 2 different fish dishes were fine but, not worth $50 each. $50 for a piece of grilled fish and a bit of mashed potatoes or a spoonful of veggies. Come on! There's no great bit of cooking or creativity involved in grilling a piece of fish. Nothing unique and certainly not worth the money they charge (even considering the NYC locale).

Great place for steak and seafood. It was packed so a bit of a wait, but a classy scene. They have coat service as well! They played all my r&b Jams from Janet Jackson to usher not the boring elevator music. The menu was a bit short of variety but I got my hands on crab cakes and hubs got a steak with mashed potatoes. Potatoes had no flavor but nothing salt couldn’t fix. The sauce under the crab cakes was mouthwatering! Also had a glass of moscato and mixed drink which runs $16-22 a pop! Steak is around $60+ and crab cake around $45 (doesn’t come with anything else). No refills on lemonade either. They gifted us a free desert for our anniversary. Every worker in there took care of you and were attentive! We aren’t from NYC so we expected anything we get would be pricey but the bill was nearly $300, Jaw dropping!

We ate here on my wife's birthday and prior to seeing The Music Man. Alyssa took very good care of us as she walked us thru the menu. We ordered the lobster bisque/house salad + salmon/filet + carrot cake for dessert. All were delicious (we are eating leftovers at EWR as I write this...) Nickel & Nickel Post & Beam to wash it down. General Manager Bestfort Shala introduced himself. Very professional + engaging. *Highly recommended...

We had a wonderful dinner at Ocean Prime. The service was exceptional. The lobster tails were great. The on bone Rib Eye steak was amazing. We had an amazing bottle of wine and the whole evening was spectacular. Also the carrot cake for dessert was definately worth the calories.

Unfortunately this was a big disappointment. This is suposed to be a luxury restaurant with high quality service, seafood & steaks. The bar area are very dark & does not fit the style of a restaurant like this. The main diningroom looks better. Service was not on the level you expect in a restaurant like this. I wanted stonecrab, but they didnt have this. Strange in a luxury seafood restaurant. Lobsterbisque for starter was a huge letdown. Way to thick and felt like the chef lost a carton of cream in it. Main cource filet mignon with bernaise, lobstertail & baked potatoe. The least bad was the steak, which was ok but nothing more. Lobstertail was terribel. Bernaise totally flat on taste. Baked potatoe was among the worst i ever got. This restaurant need to step up alot, not even close to deliver value for money unfortunately.

Lovely, modern restaurant. Food was delicious. We ordered from the restaurant week menu and enjoyed the salads, the salmon and snapper was delicious and the carrot cake was fop tier. Highly recommend!

The space is really nice and relatively quiet (though maybe it would be noisier if filled). My wife’s wedge crab salad was excellent, and my ahi salad was very good. One of our dining companions enjoyed the special halibut and the other thought the shrimp cocktail and caeser salad were good. Each couple ordered the creme brulee for desert; the portion was definitely large enough for 2 people to share, and it was also quite good. A nice basket of bread came without asking. Service was very good. All in all, a very positive civilized dining experience.

From the moment we walked into Ocean Prime the service & vibe is just fabulous. We had 2 x cocktails each - divine, for starters we had the tuna tartare, steak tartare & the special sushi salmon roll, all absolutely delicious, such a treat! For the mains we had the special surf & turf - all cooked perfectly, plus the Tuna which again, divine! The whole experience from start to finish was second to none & we will look forward to visiting again when we are next in NYC! Thank you!

My husband and I were recently in NYC for a few days. We were newbies to the city as well as the Midtown area. The restaurant choices were vast and numerous looking at the options was overwhelming. We found Ocean Prime quite by accident and like the menu. We then realized it was a Cameron Mitchell restaurant. That may not mean much but being from Columbus Ohio, is where Cameron MItchell began his restaurants and is well known for his quailty of food, service, and dining. Ocean Prime did not disappoint. Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend.

One of the best place in NYC to have a dinner! Fancy location with an amazing menu. You need to try scallops! 5 stars!

Ocean Prime is in mid-town Manhattan. It’s a great restaurant and food is superb as are the wines and service. Very big and tables upstairs.

We went at 14.00 and granted things were winding down FoH, however i think they wound down a little to far and fast. The service was some of the least attentive we had in NYC and the engagement from the wait team were at a minimum. The food however is what drove this up from a 1 or 2 star review. It was delightful. I had the blackened snapper and i could have eaten it every day. I may consider going back when it’s busier in hope of better service.

Food is excellent, service is great I would go there every weekend if it wasn’t so expensive. They added more tables since my last visit, we were crammed together & could hear everyone conversation. They should open the upstairs & quit putting that many tables together downstairs.

Excellent food! Large portions. Great service. Dinner before Broadway show. Easy walk from restaurant to theater. No complaints here! BEST MEAL EVER!

First we had to wait 30' to get a table despite having reserved. My calamari was too salty and sweet and the halibut lacked seasoning. Service was slow and asking us how it was every 15' sounded fake. Overrated and disappointing.

The restaurant is very chic, with an elegant atmosphere and an extremely kind and professional doorman. Compliments to the chefs — the dishes were truly exquisite, beautifully presented, and of excellent quality. Unfortunately, the service did not match the level of the restaurant. The dining room was quite cold, and the waitresses were not very professional. We were three people: while one of my companions was still finishing her dish, a waitress had already removed the plates of the other two of us, which was rather rude. The worst part, however, happened during dessert: while we were still eating, another waitress brought us the bill without us asking for it, clearly implying that we should leave the table. Perhaps we weren’t dressed very elegantly, but that should not justify such discourteous treatment. We always pay for what we order and expect respect and professionalism regardless of appearance.

Great Fresh seafood, executed impeccably! Outstanding service, bartender was knowledgeable, personable and made the experience even better.

Very expensive, but the crab cakes and sea bass were both superb. Perfectly cooked and served hot. Excellent service, too, and elegant ambiance.

Spent birthday here and was made to feel special. Food was great and fresh with lots of choice. The cosmo I had was the best I had this trip to the USA. Tasted exactly like ones made by a bar tender at the old Hilton Double Trees on Broadway. Brought back happy memories. Carry/Kerry our server was fabulous and made the evening a wonderful experience.

This restaurant was perfect. The food was outstanding and the portions were plentiful .They have incredible customer service. Both managers came to our table to ask how everything was and we could not have been happier. We felt like VIPs. Our main server, Enver was so attentive to our needs and very personable. Ocean Prime exceeded our expectation. Highly recommend.

Great family dinner during annual Christmas trip to NYC. This is a nice restaurant and they did a great job accommodating my crazy family of five complete with a teenager and two younger ones. Highly recommend.

I visited Ocean Prime in October after a matinee performance and enjoyed an excellent meal. I arrived in time for the pretheater dinner, which included a tasty Caesar salad, excellent blackened snapper that was not excessively smoky, good vegetables, and first-rate carrot cake, along with a delicious basket of pretzel rolls and sourdough bread. The staff was friendly and attentive, alerting me to dishes prepared with pork and shellfish, which I try to avoid. I look forward to returning.

I cannot fault anything about this restaurant. It is not inexpensive but the food was excellent, the service attentive but not intrusive and the ambiance elegant and sleek. Fabulous scallops with risotto, mouthwatering sea bass, good Caesar starter and luscious French onion soup. We finished with a butter cake topped with vanilla ice cream. Nicely crisp outside and moist inside. Would definitely return and would recommend to others.

A dinner before a show. We ordered cocktails and they were FANTASTIC! We ordered an app and it was the Wagyu. I wanted to spit a piece out as it was unpleasant in texture and taste. At $150 for the app, I ate it. My main course, NY Strip, was far better seasoned and tastier than the Wagyu. I let our server know, politely. My wife's Lobster Linguine was delicious and she loved it. The Miso-Chili Roasted Broccoli was great. Overall, the service was wonderful, but the Wagyu kind of down-graded the experience for us.

We love coming here for special occasions, usually birthdays as was the case this past October. The cuts of meat are superb, and always cooked perfectly to temperature. Their seafood is also fresh and delicious. We started with the Point Judith calamari (so crispy and served with a delicious sweet chili sauce), and went on to teriyaki salmon, an 8oz. filet mignon and 14oz. NY strip. For sides, we selected the miso-garlic broccoli, garlic mashed potatoes and bacon creamed spinach. Wow! All were enjoyed immensely! As always, we had the sublime warm butter cake with vanilla ice cream and raspberry sauce - it may be what keeps me pulling me back there! Their lunch menu has many choices under $30 but if you have a hankering for a big steak, it's there too. We love the space, with two large dining areas and a gorgeous bar, and there's also an enclosed sidewalk dining area. The service is impeccable (thank you, Nanette!) and we look forward to our next visit.

The food (everything that we ordered) including the wine, cocktails, appetizers, salad, main entrees and dessert) were all AWESOME. Ambiance was also very nice. I highly recommend this steakhouse.

The food is great (which is expected) but the service is exceptional (thanks Danielle). Certainly highly recommended.

We chose OP to celebrate our 50th anniversary based on reviews from TA. We were thoroughly pleased with our experience. The food we ordered was done to perfection. The service was impeccably fast and cordial. The menu offers many delectable choices. When they found we were there to celebrate, our waiter surprised us with a fantastic couples cake with ice cream. They made the occasion so memorable.

The exquisite food and the best treatment, invited us to dessert for being on our honeymoon. Lobster cream was certainly the best dish

This was our second time here and, as we remembered it before COVID, the food and service was excellent. The moment you enter the restaurant you know you are in a very fine dining place and you might fear it will be a bit stuffy, but no worries... Our server, Enver, was charming and approachable and immediately put us at ease. Everything from the bread, to the appetizers, to the main courses was of excellent quality and presentation and was very tasty. Lobster Bisque was to die for, with large pieces o lobster. The cappucino at meals end was one of the best I've ever had. We even had a 12 layer carrot cake that was out of this world. I'm not a big carrot cake fan, but this was an amazing piece of cake. Great wine list and drinks. Prices are on the higher end, but well worth it, a perfect meal for us!

We went for my boyfriend's birthday and were not disappointed. All courses were perfectly cooked and presented. Our waiter was attentive but not intrusive and very knowledgeable on the menu, food and wine. Somehow after our first 2 courses we had to make room for a complimentary birthday dessert that was the most amazingly presented creation I've seen. Absolutely top notch and unpretentious

Great sea food, fresh ingredients, and a perfect location in NYC. Cozy atmosphere with attentive service. A must-visit!!

My friend and I spend a week in NYC and chose this as a special fancy dinner. We're not really fancy people so this level was just perfect for us. The wait staff was very good, knowledgeable, and kind. We had the pork chop and Alaskan Halibut special. Both very delicious. We didn't order anything else we were so full! They did have many other items and side items that looked delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice meal out.

There is a good range of seafood and steak with specials. Large portions of the starter but my main of salmon was fine although a little overcooked. We had to wait around an hour before our order was taken for our food and sometime for our drinks order. Cocktails are mainly served and I didn’t see a wine list and not offered one. Once our order had been taken it came within a normal time but we had been sitting at the table for nearly an hour and a half before the bread selection was served. Which had a tasty choice. We all enjoyed our food but the wait to be served was unacceptable even in a busy restaurant.

Their ability to anticipate needs without interrupting the flow of the meal added noticeably to the overall enjoyment. Atmosphere and Location: The atmosphere is elegant and welcoming, with a modern design that suits its Manhattan setting. The location is ideal, making it an easy choice for dining in the heart of the city. Final Thoughts: Ocean Prime stands out for its combination of high quality food and outstanding service in a sophisticated setting. A reliable and enjoyable choice for those seeking a polished dining experience in New York.

Food and service were very good. It was very busy and had to wait for our table. Once seated, our server, Stefan, was excellent. I did, however, think it was a bit overpriced although, as stated, the food was very good.

Don't bother with this place. Despite a lovely atmosphere, my experience was anything but lovely. When they found out it was my birthday, the waitstaff sprinkled the table cloth with tacky sparkles and tiny "happy birthday" cutouts. At place were most mains start at $50 with many much higher, it seemed, well, more appropriate to a Pizza Hut. Nonetheless, okay, fine. The problems started with my main - crab cakes. At $47 you might expect some pretty wow crabcakes, especially at such a highly rated place specializing in fish and seafood. Well folks, they had about as much flavor as what you'd defrost from the frozen food section at Aldi. Not kidding. So, when I finally could get my server's attention 15 minutes later I sent them back. I decided not to order anything else, so the server said she would bring me a glass of wine on the house. It never came. Eventually she came by, having forgotten about the wine, saying that they would like to treat us to dessert. Unfortunately it took them so long to make the offer, we couldn't partake as we had theater tickets and could not stay longer. So she said we "could have a raincheck" on that. The bill comes, the crab cake charge is still there, she did not make my glass of wine that I had ordered complimentary (instead of bringing me the one "on the house"). Nor was there any sort of "raincheck" for desserts next time. Bad food. Bad service. Some birthday.

Kind of a late review but hey it's been a year. Had pre theatre dinner prior to seeing West Side Story. We were a group of seven. Service was outstanding, with attention to detail and to time. We had pre fix menu which included appetizer, main course, and desert, considering the quality of food and service it was a good value. We had some additional apps from the raw bar, oysters & crab cocktail all were exceptional. Steaks were outrageous. Two of our group had seafood mains and were very satisfied. As we did not want to be bloated during the show they held our deserts and we picked them up as takeout after the theater, a real class act.

Amazing dinner and service. We had the chilled crab cocktail served on dry ice. Grouper, Scallops, and Lobster tails. There wasn’t a wrong choice. Peter was a great server and we appreciated him, we would definitely visit again. Truffle max and cheese was a delight.

We had a great meal, but when the bill came and was paid for at the table with a portable device, I noticed it was extremely high, even for NYC. I ask for a break down of my bill, which came. I was charged $160 for a single glass of port, a $13 glass of 10-year Taylor 10 Year Old. I did receive a corrected bill, was insured that the issue was corrected, I do have a receipt for the corrected bill and new tip, but it was never corrected with my credit card company. Watch your bill, and take a good look upfront before you slide you card at the table. Once you swipe, it is not like getting the bill, getting a receipt to sign, and not signing when you see an error.

One of the best restaurants I have visited in the US is undoubtedly Ocean Prime: I have visited 3 of their locations in different cities and the quality of their food and service is exceptional.

I ate at Ocean Prime the last evening of my trip to NYC. It had good reviews everywhere and I was excited to try it for the first time. I was not disappointed. The food was outstanding, the drinks were delicious and the service was impeccable. I had the Deviled Eggs and Caviar app which was amazing, the ribeye which was cooked to perfection and the server Alexa who was knowledgeable and answered every (probably annoying) question I had. She was the best server I had during my stay. Also, (and I realize it has nothing to do with her service) she is stunning. All of this combined, I highly recommend Ocean Prime. Even if you just want a drink, the bar is modern and the selections are varied. I was very impressed from top to bottom.

We came here on a recommendation from a friend in September 2022 and it was so AMAZING, when we came back to NYC for my husband's 60th birthday the following month, that was the FIRST place he wanted to go. BOTH times were were blown away by the food. On top of that, the service was beyond anything we have seen in years. We live near New Haven, CT where there are many good restaurants, so we are rather spoiled and picky. In fact this is the first restaurant review I have ever written because it was just that FANTASTIC and I want them to get credit and more business. In September we sat outside and in October we sat inside. Both are spacious and the interior is elegant and almost zen like. We did not get our waitresses name the first time, but she looked and sounded like Gal Gadot and treated us like we were her only customer. Our waiter the second time was Nacer Ladjadj and he too made us feel like we were family. We also spoke with the General Manager, Besfort Shala on our second visit, complimenting them on such wonderful food and service. Absolutely everything we had both times was killer. On top of it all, since it was my husband's birthday, they treated us champagne and an extra dessert for our final course! I want to mention that we can be very critcal as we have two friends that are chefs and we cook a lot ourselves. It is not uncommon for me to leave a restaurant disappointed, knowing I can do better myself. Ocean Prime is well worth a stop if you want a special meal in NYC!

Amazing dinner! Terrific service, friendly atmosphere and delicious food! We had the Alaskan halibut and Dynamite rolls and the Florida Grouper. Expensive but totally worth it! It was a very busy evening but we were well looked after. Highly recommend when in NYC

Last hour reservation , visiting Moma and lookinf for a good adress not too far... Excellent wellcome, excellent service and excellent meal. The softshell crab were by far the best ever eated, the lsushi excellent. Good seabass and scallops, nice sides. Carrot cake execllent, creme brule and warm pudding also. Good choice of wine by the glass

I can't rave enough about this restaurant. We love Ocean Prime and try to come every chance we get but they aren't in many cities. We were staying at the Park Hyatt and this was very close so it was very convenient. We went for lunch and loved it so much we also had dinner here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Both times were excellent and the servers were so wonderful. There were 5 people in our family for lunch and 6 for dinner. We had the calamari, steak, twin lobster tails, halibut, salmon, steak tartare, salad, desserts and everything was fabulous. Yes, this place is expensive. We dropped about $550 on dinner with drinks and about $350 on lunch but was superb. They do a great job training the waiters here. For special occasions, note it on your OpenTable reservation. They comped the desserts for both lunch and dinner as we were celebrating anniversaries and birthdays. This is the mark of a top tier place. I can't rave enough about this place.

Great food, service and atmosphere. Our waiter James was fantastic. We had the sea bass and grouper as entrees. Both outstanding. Tuna tartare as an appetizer was great.

Ocean roll sushi was great. Rice was nice, stickier texture than usual. Raw ahi tuna was also nice. Alaskan king crab was good dipped in butter, otherwise plain. Finished everything except the bread so overall a solid meal.

We celebrated part of my boyfriend’s 30th birthday with dinner at ocean prime. The greeting, seating and wait staff were just phenomenal. We haven’t had service as friendly or warm anywhere in NY. The tuna tartare, filet steak and twice baked were delicious! The crab cake was meah. Honestly, we would return just for the service ! Thank you for the beautiful, enjoyable meal.

The food was one of the best meals my wife & I have ever eaten!!! We had Lobster Linguini & Berkshire Porchop. Both were exceptionally well prepared & delicious. Our waiter was excellent & so was our conversation with the manager John. We are definitely making this our yearly stop while in NYC.

Were fortunately able to get a last minute reservation here and were quite pleased with the entire experience. Our waiter in particular was very good and made good suggestions. The lobster tails were very well prepared as was the asparagus, and the “by the glass” Sancerre, a bottle of which we had, was very good. Expensive, but what good places aren’t in Midtown.

We had an absolutely wonderful mean - start to finish. Loved the Thai calamari with delicious julienne of vegetables. The scallops were exquisite and so fresh. I had a great 10 oz filet, perfectly cooked. They also had gluten free rolls for me! Yay! The desserts were a grand slam - delicious butter cake, the best carrot cake ever (and I don’t like carrot cake, but my partner does, but they had the best creme brûlée I ever had, and was blessed with a generous portion of it. Peter was a lovely, attentive waiter and we were especially pleased to meet Charlie Mitchell, one of the owners, charming son. Amazing! We will be back. Thanks for the heads up about 30 restaurants in and around Columbus, Ohio, newr our hometown. We adore the Avenue in nearby Dublin, Ohio!!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! I went to this restaurant on a whim because it was close to my hotel and was going to meet some friends for drinks later at a hotel. I sat upstairs and had Kari (?sp) as my waitress and she is spectacular to say the least. She made great recommendations and was extremely accommodating. My friends were running late and decided to come and join me. I was at a table set for two and Kari said "no problem" and set it up for the three of us so we didn't have to move tables. I was so impressed! The food was great and the service was even better. I just came back from having dinner again due to my great experience last night and sat at the same table upstairs and Kari unfortunately was working an event in a room downstairs but came up to say hello and see how my food was. I would not expect this anywhere and was just so blown away by how fantastic she was. I can't discount my actual waiter tonight because he was amazing as well! Overall the service and food were worth the price you pay and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I had dinner here with a colleague and the experience was fine, but it really didn't justify the cost. There are other places in the area with much more reasonable pricing that offer at least as good food. I had the scallops and they were good although not out-of-this-world. My colleague had the crab cakes, which he liked, but wasn't raving about per se. The service was nice, but a bit slow. Ordinarily, I would give this experience 4 stars, but due to the high price, I took one star off, it's just not worth it.

My wife and I ate here on our way to a Broadway show on a Thursday evening. We had 5:00 reservations for a 7:00 show which worked out well. The restaurant appears to have 3 seating areas. Outside in a protected area, the front facing the large bar, and the more formal back. We ate in the back, which was large, quieter, and very nice. We asked for the theatre menu which wasn't provided initially. I had the blackened snapper and my wife has a filet, both of which were excellent. The snapper was probably some the best I've had in 40 years, and we live on the gulf coast. My only issue was the service which was not as attentive as I would have liked. I hate to have to flag down other servers to get more wine.

So many great restaurants are located in NYC, but this place stands out. First, the food was amazing. From the steak to salmon to sushi to chicken, all were top flight. The dessert (ice cream/pound cake) was amazing as was the coffee. It is some of the best food across the board we’ve had in NYC. Secondly, the location and space itself is huge, quiet, and elegant. Lastly, the service was understated and attentive. Well done!

Fabulous seafood, sushi, and accommodating maitre d. We had a fabulous meal at ocean Prime. The ocean roll and ahi tuna were fantastic. The meal was complete once we enjoyed to 10 layer carrot cake! A huge thank you to to maitre d who accommodated us despite a mix up in our reservation. Thank you!

I will start with the pros. Beautiful atmosphere and although it was crowded, the noise level was good enough to have a normal conversation across the table. The food was excellent. It was just my husband and I and he ordered the lump crab meat and the 16 oz ribeye. I had the ahi tuna tartare and the 16 oz. strip steak. We ordered 2 sides, truffle fries and bacon creamed spinach. Both steaks were tender and done to perfection. Although I could say, that they could've lightened up on the salt/sodium of the ribeye steak. If you are sensitive to salt, please mention it to the waiter beforehand. The sides were delicious and I can't stop thinking about the bacon creamed spinach - the best I've ever had. The con - our waiter was wonderful, and very knowledgeable. But when I told him if I only wanted a small piece of steak that if we ordered the 24 oz. ribeye, if that would be enough for my husband and I to share. He said to us that the 24 oz ribeye is mostly bone, and he also threw out the word "sharing" dinner twice. After waiter left, my husband and I both felt that the waiter was discouraging us to share our main meal, that is why we ordered 2 different steak dinners (1/2 of my steak I couldn't finish and left there). This increased our bill by about $60 which therefore, I feel, increased his tip. While we were having dinner, I noticed many people splitting their main dish. Either steak we ordered could've been shared, so don't feel intimidated to share your meal. (This is the reason for the 4 stars).

Atmosphere was wonderful, wait staff very attentive. Top notch meal! Take my advice though... Share a dessert!!!

Great service and even greater food, everything was spectacular!! Great drinks, the prime course just amazing. Will definitely recommend it.

We had dinner here 7 yrs ago and it was great so decided to go again. It was even better, we had delicious food, great service and fabulous wine. We had the halibut and the sea bass, both were perfect.

What a fantastic restaurant! Wonderful ambience, attentive staff, and delicious food! We thought about going back the next day, but were leaving town. Definitely a place to go when in NYC. We will be back!

Ocean Prime was recommended by some friends of mine to celebrate my daughter’s birthday.... and I’m so glad I had the opportunity to try this location in NYC. The food and service were phenomenal. Normally, I’ve only experience warm butter cake that was good at Grand Lux, but Ocean Prime is my new favorite spot for warm butter cake. In addition, their crab cakes were pretty good, but the dessert was even better. I would definitely return again and again.

We dined here for my wife’s birthday and it was excellent. Great service, great cocktails and great food.

Our server Kira did an awesome job taking care of us. She was attentive and made us feel special. We sat at a great booth inside the first part of the restaurant. Outstanding sea bass and Ocean Sushi roll. Loved the dessert and appreciated the manager asking how everything was. A great place for a nice family dinner in the city.

We wanted a traditional US Steakhouse experience, with steaks, lobster, shrimps etc. We had booked an early dinner and with the bar and patio already busy on a Thursday we took that as a good sign. It was! The service and food were excellent. We ate a variety of meat and fish dishes and everyone enjoyed what they had chosen. Our Daughters said it was the best sushi they have ever had. It does exactly what it says it does!

Just a few steps away from 6th Avenue on W 52nd St, a quiet place with a warm interior and luxurious (lunch) menu. Service staff is utterly friendly and attentive. The food was excellent - a clear recommendation for fine dining!

This place is fabulous. I had the Sea Scallops on Parmesan Risotto, English Peas, with Citrus Vinaigrette. The scallops were sautéed to perfection and they were moist and melted in your mouth like better. The service was flawless and the entries everyone ordered was gorgeous. We were very full but we decided on two deserts - the carrot cake and the cream brûlée. That was absolutely the best brûlée I’ve ever had. This was a special day and celebration of an award and this meal was the perfect ending.

Had reservations for 5pm but traffic got us there at 5:30. I called ahead and they said they only hold tables for 15 minutes but they would see what they could do. They got us seated at 5:45 which wasn't bad at all. The restaurant and bar were packed on a Saturday night as I expected. The 10 oz. Filet mignon and Chilean Sea bass were excellent entrees. Staff was extremely attentive, nice atmosphere. I would recommend this place and look forward to returning someday. Make sure you have a reservation so you'll get a table. They also have a coat/bag check at the entrance.

Birthday Dinner Great food excellent service Reservation can be made online. Food was amazing We ordered the ribeye and garlic mashed potatoes We had the spicy tuna sushi m The buttercake is to die for

Ocean Prime is on 52nd & Sixth Avenue. Great ambiance. Food was excellent as always as were the wines. Service is also excellent. Recommended.

My first time eating at Ocean Prime & I had the most amazing birthday dinner here on Friday 11/05/21, our table host was Chase & he was simply fantastic! Greeted my self & my party (3 of us) with a warm welcome and was attentive the whole night...For appetizers, we shared the DYNAMITE ROLL (Tempura Shrimp, Spicy Mayo, Sesame Seeds), POINT JUDITH CALAMARI with Sweet Chili Sauce & OYSTERS ON THE HALF SHELL (West Coast). For my drink, I had the Berries & Bubbles signature cocktail (Belvedere Citrus Vodka, Marinated Berries, House Made Sour, Domaine Chandon Brut, Dry Ice Smoke). For my entree, I had the 8 OZ FILET MIGNON & LOBSTER TAIL & we shared the following sides: ROASTED GARLIC MASHED POTATOES, BACON CREAMED SPINACH, CHOPHOUSE CORN & BLACK TRUFFLE MAC & CHEESE. The Berries Bubbles was doi yummy, I ordered a second one & for dessert, I had the WARM BUTTER CAKE with Fresh Berries, Vanilla Ice Cream & Raspberry Sauce - OMG, sooo delicious! Already have plans to return.

5 stars all the way. We were delighted with the food and service. The staff strives for perfection. No detail is overlooked. Some of the best steak, crab cake and crème brûlée we have had anywhere. Those upscale tater tots - amazing. The atmosphere was perfect. Best of all is the service, our waiter was Bryan, a true professional. Thank you Ocean Prime. See you next time!

Ambiance definitely is reason to go. A place for celebrations and to impress. Come classy but comfortable. A ton of stairs for the restroom and additional seating. Service disappointed. Obligatory but would not even allow or provide a tasting of wines to decide; glasses not bottles. Never had that happen even at a sub-star place. Always had Staff oblige and make suggestions but not here. Didn't even return to ask did we want anything else outside the Brooklyn Lager. Eventually ordered the Black Orchid, which was well-balanced, nice but extremely weak. The Blackened Snapper was beautiful but underwhelming. It needed flavor. No salt, no compliments. Pretty much the same theme for each item, except the Lambchops. The Chops came grilled in an au jus and perfectly roasted garlic. The four (4) Chops were seasoned well, tender and delicious. The accompanying Garlic Mashed Potatoes were smooth but again, needed seasoning and butter. The Garlic chips were a nice addition but could have added more. The Lobster Bisque was too heavily rouxed and the Sherry was not cooked out. Again, needed seasoning and more Tomato paste, double concentrate would help for depth and flavor. You get approximately a Tablespoon of chopped Lobster. Not worth it. The Jumbo Lump Crabcake was good but basic. Mayo, saltiness and salt seemed to be the filler. Added fresh Lemon juice and hot sauce for a bit more pizzazz. Cooked beautifully but fell apart with each bite. The Slaw was DELICIOUS! Had with Beet Salad, golden and red. Came with toasted sliced almonds. Good but again, needed seasoning or a flavorful and fruity Vinaigrette. Technically, overall, this would be a 3.8 but the ambiance is definitely a 4.5-5. There are others that are better, especially at this premium price.

Service was great. Jesus was our waiter. Nothing but accommodating during this celebration. French Onion soup was delicious and so was the lobster bisque. Ordered the lobster pasta, sushi and steak. All nicely prepared.

Ocean Prime is the nicest new restaurant in New York City. However, it is way overpriced. Our two-course dinner without wine cost $100 per person. You may well ask how this is possible. Well, they charge extra for each ingredient: one tablespoon of Bernaise sauce cost $7 and contained a spicy ingredient, which does not belong in it. Furthermore, the filet mignon was forgettable. The onion soup was excellent, though.

How did I never hear of this amazing restaurant. Not for cheapskates. Two people $400with tip. Great experience, ambience, and fresh food. You just upscaled every trip I take to the city!

One of the most tasty food I've ever eaten. The meals are big and very delicious. Also we've special requests and the really feel free about it and helped us. Dinning Room manager Nicole is great and helpful and all the staff with her. For aure I'll visit the place on my next visit to NY. P.S. you've to taste the spicy tuna..

Impromptu dinner last night. Pork with leeks, cherry tomatoes, spinach as a side, textbook. Rib eye steak without bone, I would say exceptional. The only flaw is the gentleman with glasses , tail , grizzled , French - Algerian origin , who , has explained almost nothing of the dishes and was in a great hurry to get us to order that put “anxiety” and made you want to send him to coney Island to wait at wooden tables like a party of unity (where the c...i dance).

Wandered in. Very lucky. I had (really good) short ribs. We shared some Trfethen blend that is sold only to Ocean Prime ( so the vineyard told me when I asked where I could buy it).

The oysters and chilled crab appetizers were very good. The service is professional and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant for a good seafood dinner out!

First time I had to show my COVID Card upon entering. I sat at the bar by myself on a quiet Sunday night. Bartender Jesse made the whole experience first class. Outstanding service and represented what makes NYC special. Amazing house salad and incredible Sea Bass.

Ocean proposes also a “meat” line along with the “fish” line. The list of plates of these lists are long and intriguing. I had a Chilean seabass and asked to complement the plate with green vegetables but not with mashed potatoes. The portion of fish was modest and accompanied by no more than 20 g of broccoli. My advice is that you eat at home before entering this restaurant because portions are very parsimonious indeed. The cost was excessive

We thought this was a Cameron Mitchell resturant but it was different from Ocean Club in Columbus,Ohio. Our server was excellent, Jesus. He met all our requests . He was fun and we had a great time. My table mates got the Surf and Surf. It was lobster and scallops and they said it was good. My son got the Salmon and he said it was delicious. I got the Sea Bass. I thought it would have a sauce over top like Cameron Mitchell that I love, it didnt. So even though it was delicious , I was a little disappointed. We got the broccoli with miso as a side and it was salty.

Wanted to try the lobster mac and cheese it did not disappoint! Probably the best I've had was really rich and creamy. Technically a side but ate it as a main. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the menu

My husband picked this restaurant to celebrate my birthday - oh my what a treat! The ambience is tasteful and cozy - they had decorated our table with birthday confetti, which made the evening even more special. I had the snapper - incredible. And the jalapeño au gratin potatoes are a must. For dessert, try the butter cake - it absolutely melts in your mouth. The service is impeccable. This place is a bit pricey, but worth every penny for a special night out.

Excellent dinner (returned the next day). Steaks were cooked exactly as we requested. Tasty side dishes and professional service. We can only recommend.

We had our dinner here after watching Rockets as it was close to Radio City. The calamari was great! French onion soup was perfect for my taste! And the Rib-eye steak was cooked charred from the outside but juicy from the inside (i ordered medium) just the way I like it! Maybe this was the reason why we did not like Ai Fiori because Ocean Prime lifted up our standards

Jesus our server was warm and helpful explaining the specials and explaining various menu items. He was pleasant and attentive, as were other members of the wait staff. Two assistant managers stopped by the table to ask how the dinner was. We had a delicious meal of Caesar salad and seared Ahi. Happy vacationers here!

This is a large, very modern and comfortable restaurant on two levels, with a great, extensive wine selection by the glass. Perfect place to call into for lunch if you are staying in the area between Rockefeller Plaza and Central Park. Delicious bread, very relaxing, lovely, highly professional staff, especially Kate who took care of us with distinction. An immaculate and clearly Wonderfully managed restaurant. We were impressed. Best place to sit is on semi-circular banquettes by window, opposite bar. The menu was superb, something for everyone. My son thought his desert was amazing. Since we visited by chance as a ‘walk-in’ various New York people have told me how highly they rate this restaurant. I’m told that this restaurant keeps getting better, I can believe it. If you are in the Central Park or Rockefeller Plaza area and want to go somewhere which is great value, luxurious and with an excellent menu, you just cannot go wrong here. For a chain, this is impressive. However I have been told that the branches of Ocean prime in other American cities are also totally individual. This particular branch reminds me of New York City and it does New York proud. Highly recommended, we intend to go back again before we leave for London

Needed a restaurant last-minute for dinner before a show on a Friday before Xmas. This came up on TA and could reserve online. Modern, comfortable decor, large place, but nicely divided so rooms not too loud. I opted for the fixed price pre-show menu and other from the menu. Good service, attentive and friendly. Food was excellent, well-presented and tasty. The two steaks ordered were fabulous. Was not inexpensive, but this is Manhattan. Family of 4, with 2 teenagers had a great meal, would return.

All the dinner spots in the area are expensive, so much so that the waiter was surprised that we weren't there for a special occasion, but only to see a musical at City Center. Two Scallop entrees, $57 each, were the cheapest mains on the menu, excellent, but painfully-priced. A glass of Chardonnay? $23. Excellently prepared, and excellent service, but we'll eat further away from the performance, next time.

This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in Fort Myers. Great service, amazing specials and the fire table is wonderful atmosphere!

Situated just off 6th Avenue on W 52nd St, this establishment offers a serene ambiance and an upscale menu. With a warm interior, the restaurant is ideal for those looking to enjoy a special meal. Service varies but is generally friendly and attentive. Notable dishes include the pork chop, Alaskan Halibut special, blackened snapper, and filet. The crab cakes come highly recommended, although some dishes, like the mashed potatoes, might require additional seasoning. While the dining area towards the back offers a quieter setting, the restaurant can get packed. For music enthusiasts, the R&B playlist featuring tracks from Janet Jackson to Usher adds a lively touch. However, take note of the limited menu variety and pricing – steaks average $60+, with drinks priced around $16-22. Refills are not offered for certain beverages. Special occasions might be celebrated with a complimentary dessert. Though the experience is generally pleasant, the bill can be a surprise for those unfamiliar with NYC prices.

The food is top notch and some of the best I’ve had anywhere. The service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend!

First time at Ocean Prime did not disappoint. From the impeccable service by Jesus to the delicious cocktails and food to the beautiful ambiance in the main dining room. The food was cooked and prepared to perfection. This is a great place for special occasions. I can’t wait to go back.

I took my staff there after the Dental Convention at the Javits. I started off with the Wedge salad. Others had Sauteed Shrimp,Lobster Bisque, Caeser Salad and Dynamite Shrimp Roll. All were very good. I had the strip steak thate was cooked to perfection. Ohers had the Filet, Crab Cakes, Salmon and Scallops. For sides we shared spinach, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, mushrooms and loaded baked potato. We ordered a few desserts for the table. The cheesecake and butter cake were very good. Our meals were delicious. The atmosphere is very nice and the staff is superb.

Met an old coworker here who was in town for a conference. Just stopped by for drinks at first but I got lulled into staying for dinner. Ordered the ribeye and the truffle mac n cheese, both of which were good. I was underwhelmed by the dessert options but the main meal itself was pretty good

We celebrated my sister's birthday at Ocean Prime on a Friday evening. It was our first time dining at this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Our reservation was originally for 9pm but the birthday lady was running late. Even with her arriving thirty minutes late, they still seated us. Everything about this restaurant was great. The atmosphere, service, drinks, and food were all good. Unfortunately I cannot comment about their steak dishes because I do not eat red meat. I ordered the salmon and it was filling and delicious. Another person from my party had a steak dish with potatoes and it was enjoyable. The vanilla butter cake was delicious. We absolutely had no complaints about this restaurant and will return in the future.

Restaurant was nearby where I was shopping so I stopped by for lunch. Nice friendly welcome despite being early - 11.50am. Sat in the main seating area and was very comfortable. Good style and ambiance. Ordered lobster bisque for starters and blackened salmon for mains. The soup was super creamy with delicious flavour and texture. Excellently presenter. Blackened salmon was delicious also - reminded me of Paul Prudholm in New Orleans years ago who did so much to advance blackening methods. Ocean Prime suggests seafood but they have an excellent selection of steaks also. A nice ice cream sundae to finish it off. Soft drinks for me but there was a considerable menu of drinks and wine if you wanted. Great place for lunch. Good working WiFi. No hurry to vacate your seat - great service.

Ocean Prime is a top notch restaurant in the heart of mid town. Very nice private dining as indeed is the open dining. Steak was super!

We loved this restaurant. Sushi was really great. Their blackened fish was absolutely the best. We will definitely go back.

Wow! Snapper with those spices and the NY strip were great! Our server Gordon knew his menu! I changed apples for berries in the house salad. What a nice finish to a rainy day matinee show of Alladin on Bway!

Top restaurant. Professional and friendly staff. The food is delicious. The ambiance is good. Very recommendable. The service is outstanding.

My husband and I decided to forgo anniversary gifts this year and treat ourselves to a weekend in the city. First, we went to a matinee (Funny Girl was awesome) and then had dinner down the street at Ocean Prime. Both of us have only dined at their place in California, but never the one in New York. We both loved this one so much more! We were warmly greeted by the hostesses and given a lovely booth by the bar. The restaurant was very crowded with private parties and people celebrating both in the main dining room and outside in the covered and heated patio area. We appreciated our cozy booth which afforded us privacy and a nice view of the bartenders making their delicious concoctions. We sampled quite a few. All the staff were very attentive, especially our waitress Mia (sp?). After our fun and different cocktails, we split a Crisp Iceberg Wedge. It was delicious, but the Cabernet buttermilk dressing elevated the taste to another level. I ordered the Blackened Snapper and once again the dish was cooked to perfection and elevated by the corn spoon bread. Our waitress insisted that we have dessert at no charge as her contribution to ending our anniversary dinner with a treat. And what a treat it was! Warm Butter Cake was a big hit! The raspberry sauce was a nice touch. Thank you Ocean Prime for making our anniversary dinner the highlight of our weekend. Don't tell Lea Michele ;)

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. My wife and I had a fantastic dinner for our anniversary. From the very start, they made us feel special with everyone wishing us a happy anniversary. The food was beyond fantastic. The steak, the scallops, the drinks, it was all fantastic. I get it, it’s an expensive meal, but it was one of those places where everything we tasted was really good and felt worth it. Then, the service. Our waitress Nanette was fantastic. She was pleasant and just felt like a professional. They have people coming to your table keeping it clean after each course and we commented on how a well oiled machine this place was. In the world today where it’s tough to find good help, this place seems to avoid that and really felt too not notch all the way around. I could not recommend this place enough and will definitely be back.

Ocean Prime offers a great menu to satisfy all diners. I am more of a red meat and potatoes or steak person and my wife enjoys seafood. The cocktails were amazing and creative. The berries and bubbles cocktail comes with dry ice so you get the “fog machine” effect. But it wasn’t just show - it was also fantastic. My wife started with a sushi appetizer that was non traditional sushi but so delicious. Beef carpaccio with shrimp and cream cheese. Amazing flavors and texture. She had the fish special and I had a filet. Very well done and the presentation and the sides were even more of a star than the mains. Our server Victor Rodriguez was attentive and fun. The dinner was paced to our speed. We were never rushed but also never waited. We finished by sharing a butter cake which was a lighter interpretation than we have had at other steak houses and completed the evening magnificently. We will be back again and requesting Victor as our server when we make a reservation.

Took the family here for our daughter’s birthday and they treated us great. Service was very good. The food was great! Pricey, yes, but for a special occasion, I would prefer this over a fancy expensive steak house.

The best meal we had whilst we explored New York. Ocean Prime was recommended to us by our daughter and son in law so we booked in advance. My husband had the wagyu steak I had the scallop risotto and we also had the lobster mac and cheese as a side which was also incredible!. For starters we had the crab and giant prawns served on ice, probably the best Crab ive ever had in my life. My husband also said it was the best steak also. We thought the portions were plentiful so unfortunately all hopes of trying a desert were lost. What a charming sophisticated restaurant, its definitely a high end treat. We had wonderful wine to compliment our meal also. The final bill was approximately $400 but id say worth every cent. We had an issue with the card reader which was only discovered when we left when we received an email to say our card was declined. The staff graciously accepted us returning the following day to pay and we met the wonderful manager who couldn't have been more pleasant insisting we had food and drinks "on the house" for our honesty. We are not the type of people to abuse this so we shared parmasan truffle fries, which were incredible and a glass of prosecco. Id just like to add that all the staff were so wonderful, especially our server Cara ( sorry if misspelt) who was extremely professional friendly and attentive with a very likeable personality, so a huge Thank you from us and we shall highly recommend to our friends and family your wonderful restaurant should they travel to NYC. Food, service, ambience all perfect.

The beef was superb, the calamari sublime, and the service? So distant from the quality of the food at Ocean Prime. What should have been a "prime" experience based on the quality of the starter and entrée was compromised by rushed service which brought our rare steaks out when we were only half-complete with our luscious fried calamari sauced with spicy oil. This was a course to be savored and enjoyed, with a few minutes to sip wine and clean our palate before the amazing filet mignon. But that was not to be the case....to the point where I couldn't even finish my first glass of brut rose before ordering the second glass of juicy Turley Zinfandel to enjoy with my steak. On a less sweet note, as well, the warm butter cake for dessert came out HOT burning my tongue, while the carrot cake was too cold to enjoy....so I wouldn't recommend dessert, aside from the service issues. Truly disappointed: there are many steakhouses to enjoy in Manhattan; skip this one, although I'd probably stop into the bar for a glass of wine and a plate of that calamari again, then walk a couple of blocks to a competing steak house for another filet.

Selection of fresh seafood choices from different regions of the US delicious and well prepared. The calamari had a nice bite and oriental style. The halibut was complimented bt the the delicious vegtables and was perfectly prepared, The lobster pasta was excellent as well..Service was friendly and attentive.

I'm very behind in my review for this restaurant on here but did review it elsewhere. We normally don't love chain restaurants, but Ocean Prime is amazing! The service and food are impeccable. We aren't really steak eaters, but the steak here is amazing. What makes Ocean Prime special is that it specializes in in surf and turf which is beyond delicious. I've had the lobster here before, but the last time we dined I had the crab legs as an appetizer. It was so good that I changed my order from the lobster to the entrée of hot crab legs and it was one of the best dinners that I've ever had. We just recommended this place to some friends who are in NYC and I just decided to put this review on here.

I took my mom to Ocean Prime for her birthday. We'd planned to go somewhere else but ended up here last minute, and despite it being pretty busy on a Tuesday, we were still graciously given one of the best tables. There's literally nothing bad (or even neutral) that I can say about this place. Everything was excellent - from the ambiance, to the food (particularly the Sea Bass, it's to die for!), to the service... and specifically Enver! He took the best care of us - with a smile and kindness and great attentiveness all evening. He helped me create for my mom the most special celebration, and a lovely, warm memory. He helped me surprise mom with special dessert cake candles, obliged to take multiple photos of us with enthusiasm (and they came out really great), and was just an all-around beautiful presence for us, along with the rest of the highly professional and attentive staff. Big thanks for the wonderful wonderful experience! I will definitely recommend Ocean Prime to anyone, and will always gladly come back again for other special occasions.

This is a great upscale restaurant in NYC. It's definitely expensive, but everything was good. I highly recommend the French Onion Soup and the Lobster Mac & Cheese! My only concern is we were seated in a booth in the back corner of the bar, so service was rather slow. Regardless, we had an amazing meal and would likely go back next time we are in the City.

We visited Ocean Prime last night based on many of the Trip Advisor reviews and are very glad that we did. We were welcomed by the very friendly staff and sat outside on a warm August evening. Our main waiter was Ajet and he was excellent. He was very helpful with wine and food choices and very attentive, professional and friendly. The dishes we ordered were delicious. The crab cake appetiser, the grouper and a special of halibut were all cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. I would definitely come back to Ocean Prime again for a guaranteed fabulous meal.

The ambiance and the decoration are extremely pleasant in this animated but not noisy restaurant. Joshua was amazing : he made a great recommendation to pick an american red wine, and has been helpful and discrete, perfect during our visit. The dishes served to kids were very good, and our surf & turf exceptional; lobster and meat were cooked at perfection, melted in our mouths. There is a lot to choose from on the menu.

Went for late lunch alone. Reception very friendly and managed to get me a table instead of eating at the bar. Crab cake as appetizer was excellent followed by a lobster / avocado on toast with a delicious salad with sherry vinegar dressing. Service was also very pleasant, discreet and efficient.

We visited the restaurant on a recent vacation to NYC. We stoopped in after going to a matinee performance of Beatlejuice. We loved everything about the restaurant, the food, the service and the ambiance. We visited with another couple and everyone tried different items from the menu and the food was outstanding.

Great Food, Great Service, and Great Bartenders/Servers We bought last minute tickets for the Rockette’s Show and had to move up dinner plans. Staying locally, we decided to pop in to Ocean Prime, given it was close. Popped in around 6pm and they had an upstairs table or bar seats. Tried upstairs but too isolated and in the hallway to the facilities. Ended up at the bar and it was a great choice. LSU-Alabama on the screen, surrounded by Maryland and Georgia residents and a great bar staff. Our server was Zeek (“Gary” officially) and being a former Buckeye, how could he not be great! We were quickly waited on and had a cold drink in our hand within minutes. Great wine, beer, and full bar to choose from. Menu had everything Seafood or Steak you could think of. For us we tried two salads, the Wedge and the Caesar. Both were great but I would highly recommend the Wedge – good portion and fresh flavor. We also decided to split an entrée – Crab Cakes. Based on a suggestion from the Georgia guests sitting next to us, we decided to split a Crab Cake Entrée. It was perfect and delicious! Fresh Crab Cake with Brussels Sprouts, Fingerlings, and Corn - so good. Ocean Prime has wonderful fresh bread – don’t be shy to ask for some. Just a great night! Zeek was a great server, drinks and patrons were awesome and food delicious. Can’t wait to go back.

It is a great birthday celebration! All because the staff Stefan Durmic is attentive and friendly! The food is great and the service excellent!

This restaurant is beautiful inside, food and service were ok. The lights need to be turned down a bit to enhance the dining experience. Music was really good, classics you don't normally here when you're out.

We have been going to this restaurant every time we are in NY for several years now. The food has been consistently good, which is something many restaurants do not manage to maintain. Service is always good too. I particularly enjoyed the Berries and Bubbles cocktail, light and refreshing and the dry ice smoke makes quite a show. My husband had the rib eye steak at both of our visits within a span of 10 days and raves about it both times. Their scallops were cooked perfectly. I am not overly impressed with the seafood towers but that’s probably because I don’t like cold seafood.

Never disappoints. This is our go for at least one night when we are visiting NYC. We love the location and the food is always delicious. Atmosphere is fun and lively. Dining room seating seems a bit more noisy but fun and the bar area seems to be more reserved and relaxed. Have to go here at least once and you’ll be back.

Had a very romantic dinner here. The service was great as were the dishes we ordered—Oysters, King Crab and Sea bass. We also ordered a butter cake to go. Will definitely return when in the area.

Absolutely incredible! Myself and another family member said that this was the best restaurant we’d ever been to! A stand out was the butter cake - just Devine!

This was an immaculate experience! The service was amazing and our waitress went above and beyond. We even ordered more because she gave us recommendations based on what we liked. We were allowed to sample taste the wine before purchasing the wine as well which made it easier for my husband and I to make a choice. The lobster bisque was delicious and I highly recommend. The Brussels sprouts as well! Everything we ordered was scrumptious and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our wedding anniversary. Thank you to our waitress Alexa and Ocean Prime for such great service and giving us a wonderful memorable experience.

Visited Ocean Prime for the second time this January, this time for dinner with fellow travellers, last time for lunch with locals. Both times it was excellent, end-to-end. Ocean Prime makes a statement as soon as you arrive - you know you are in New York, from the illuminated bar, the vast expanse of tables, the stately dining furniture. It is a Manhattan institution. The food and beverage is seriously scrumptious and the service is nothing less than exemplary. This wine list has the breadth and depth you would expect from a 5-star venue, you feel like you should take it home with you and read it thoroughly, like choosing after such brief perusal might be somehow disrespectful. After a Cucumber Gimlet (I think the best in NYC) to kick off we enjoyed a divine meal. We savoured the shrimp cocktail, which arrived on a bed of dry ice with a sauce that I would have bought by the bottle, and cross-tasted the teriyaki salmon, surf and turf, 8 oz eye fillet and Gerber Farms chicken along with the truffle mac n cheese (smashing), broccoli & cauliflower as side, until there was not a scrap left. Can recommend the butter cake for dessert, which was shared - note that desserts are a generous size, so you need to plan for it :-) You cannot go wrong here, it is meaningful dining and money well spent. Compliments to the team.

Visited the restaurant last week. The decor and food was absolutely fabulous, could not fault it. 2 things which stopped me giving it a 4 or 5 star review: 1. The tip expected was 25% or more - our bill was high enough. 2. The clientele as the evening progressed got more or more seedy. I hope our impression was wrong, however it felt as if guns could have been drawn, the ladies I’m not sure how to politely put it, but looked look as if they were genuine partners but there for the night. We would have liked to stay on however when point no 2, we finished up as soon as we could and left. Earlier on in the evening when we arrive around 7.30pm, it was fine, by 9pm, it had gone downhill.

This restaurant has a very nice internal room near the bar but unfortunately we had dinner in the innermost room of the restaurant which has a freezing temperature. Service that is not very attentive and quite rude, normal dishes and a decidedly high price compared to the quality. The sushi rolls are good (although very expensive). Tables very close together and loud noise.

my hubby took me here for our anniversary it was amazing the server was great the food was great it was amazing ,

Experienced a wonderful evening at Ocean Prime, from the moment we arrived we were well looked after. Had the Berries and Bubbles cocktail, a lovely piece of theatre in a glass! The food was fantastic and good portions. If you would like to celebrate something special, this is the place to go.

My wife and I dined here and had a truly glorious meal. The food, the atmosphere and the service are exceptionally good. We started with a Negroni and some sort of bubbling dry ice cocktail. Then a bit of fizz to accompany my Alaskan King Crab legs - which were utterly amazing and her Shrimp cocktail which was gorgeous. Then she had the Florida Grouper Gnocchi - which she loved and I had the most magnificent Halibut Rissotto. You must finish with either Butter Cake (see my in focus picture) or the 10 layer carrot cake (see my out of focus photo taken of them serving it to an adjacent table) The service was superb, worth every cent of the tip we left. If you are lucky enough to be served by Jesus, then you are in for a treat. (The name of the waiter, not the son of god, although maybe he is?) I highly recommend treating yourself to a fine dining meal at Ocean Prime. It was superb.

Ocean Prime is a hybrid modern restaurant, focusing equally on seafood and steaks. It is a large dining area, with both indoor and outdoor seating facilities and a very active bar, especially around happy hour. Our reservations were honored on time and we got a good table. Our servers were attentive and helpful. The food was very good. My wedge salad was very generous, fresh and delicious. The French onion soup was delicious, especially on a cold day.The Teriyake salmon was perfectly prepared and delightful; the Halibut (day's special), was perfect, and one of the best I've had. The asparagus side was quite generous, to be shared by at least two people. The list of wines by the glass was limited, but good. Our only displeasure with the place was the noise: while the two of us were sitting at a small table, we could hardly hear each other. Not conducive to conversation!

This is an elegant place but not too much. There is a good atmosphere. The menu is quite varied, from meat to fish, but also sushi and vegetarian dishes. The food is of excellent quality. I went with my children (18 and 17 years old) and my grandchildren (21 and 22 years old). We were all satisfied with the dinner and I think we will go back next time.

This was our splurge night. So worth it. All food was outstanding. Best sushi appetizer we've ever had. Drinks were great. Service was perfect. Great evening.

Everything was top notch. From the Crab Cake appetizer to the salads (Cesar & beer) to all three fish entrees (Grouper, Snapper and Chilean Seabass) to dessert (warm butter cake and chocolate torte), we thought everything was delicious. Expensive but worth it. Great staff.

Great decor setup and friendly staff. The food was incredible but huge portions, so I would keep that in mind - if you’re exited for an entree, you may need to skip an appetizer or at least share it. Everything from bread to dessert was delicious. But the MUST ORDER is the Berries and Bubbles Cocktail. Unlike a drink you’ll get anywhere else in the city.

Too long a story, but management is apparently not trained or prepared to deal with customers that provide feedback not to their liking and blindly hand over a 30% tip. We were seated in the bar area next to the doors where the wait staff enter and exit the kitchen area and were entertained with all sorts of vulgarities from bar and wait staff in both English and Spanish. If someone from corporate is interested in contacting I would be happy to expand further. Not interested in hearing any weak excuses from the restaurant management.

We have been spending a week in Manhattan with friends, taking in shows, museums, shopping, and hitting as many restaurants and watering holes as we could. Many of these restaurants were well located in mid-town as well as off the beaten track down-town or in other boroughs. However, I believe that Ocean Prime was our best find on this trip. It was and adventure in gastronomic experience. The menu was eclectic, but totally on point and sympatico with the restaurant's moniker. Ocean prime relied on its expertise in the preparation of various fishes and prime meats. The waitstaff was well trained and had expertise in describing as well as breaking down the components of various plates with suggested wine pairings. We ordered drinks coupled with a warm breadbasket that contained a Parker House loaf, Pretzel Bread mini baguettes, various seeded flatbreads, and butter. Jeff ordered a Smoked Old Fashioned that contained Angel’s Envy Rye Whiskey, House Demerara Syrup, Angostura & Orange Bitters, and Charred Cherry Wood Smoke. This cocktail was a sight to behold with the smoke swirling out of the glass casting a sweet aroma across the table. Bambi had a Nogroni containing Zero Proof London Dry Gin & vermouth Rosso and finished with Giffard Aperitif Syrup. Arlee ordered her favorite drink (an Espresso Martini). This libation was made with Ketel One Vodka, Vanille de Madagascar, Espresso, Kahlua, and served either Black or with Cream. Arlee chose cream. I had a Prime Manhattan made with Woodford Reserve, Carpano Antica Vermouth, Amaro Nonino, and Rosemary Grapefruit Peppercorn Bitters. I was more than satisfied; it was one of the best Manhattans I have ever had. Next, we covered the appetizer menu with crab cakes, vegetable rolls and lettuce wedges. Both Jeff and I had the Crisp Iceberg “Wedge.” Most Restaurants now serve slabs as they more readily hold the fixings than a wedge. Mine came with Candied Bacon, Marinated Tomatoes, Pickled Onions, Blue Cheese Crumbles and Cabernet Buttermilk Dressing (on the side). Jeff deleted the bacon and asked for his dressing on the side as well. Bambi ordered the Jumbo Lum Crab Cake that came with Sweet and Sour Slaw and was dressed in a Horseradish Mustard Aioli. The dish was primarily lump blue claw crabmeat with very little breadcrumbs and just enough aioli to hold it together. Arlee’s dish was a fantastic visual presentation and very pleasing to the palette. I would say that it was the “plate of the night.” Her Vegetable Roll was wrapped in Soy Paper, containing Crispy Asparagus, Avocado, Daikon Radish, Mango and was dressed in a Sesame Lime Vinaigrette. We had eaten a late lunch of “street food”; we split twin lobster tails that were plated over asparagus with drawn butter. They were done perfectly. Jeff is a quasi-vegan and ordered a loaded baked potato with cheddar cheese, chives and sour cream on the side. Bambi is a true carnivore and ordered a 14 oz. New York strip steak with black truffle butter medium rare. When she made her first cut in the middle, it was perfect. While I am sure that their dessert menu would have been beautifully prepared and presented, we were satiated and only ordered coffee and espressos. As Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert would say, “Two thumbs up for this culinary experience.” We will give Ocean Prime “THREE” Thumbs Up! Need I say more.

This was literally the worst service I have ever experienced. My friend and I went for supper. After being seated, we waited 45 min for a wait staff person to address us. We had asked twice if someone was coming to take our drink order. (The only reason we stayed was because it was so late, other places were closing soon). They offered to comp us some thing, by that time it was 9:30 and we were not hungry any longer.

Excellent seafood and steak house: high quality products (lobsters, T-bone steak), perfectly cooked, friendly and efficient service, reasonable noise level, a good evening, a little expensive, but which leaves a very good memory of NYC.

Dinner was incredible. The Sea Bass and Snapper are delicious! Joshua was phenomenal and super friendly! I’m so glad we dined here!!
Great food
Visited this restaurant after my daughter found it online, a great find. We made a reservation and was shown to our table on time, and made to feel very welcome. We had a set three course meal and expected the portion sizes to be smaller, not so, so tasty and filling , definitely will return on our next visit
