My wife and I (gluten-free pescatarian) had a wonderful pre-theater dinner here: my wife had the Gazpacho (terrific), I had the Striped Bass Crudo, with cubed potato and radish (sublime); we each got the same main, Pan-Roasted Monkfish (perfect) -- mine assuredly gluten-free. The Panna Cotta with cake removed to make it gluten-free was great. Two Sancerre's helped move the meal along, two cappuccinos were a great ending. Fine dining bill, but worth every penny.

Short staffed and were told we could not order. Just wanted a drink. So strange! Hostess was incredibly rude.

Food and service were outstanding. My wife had the Swordfish, I had the Salmon entree. My wife had the tuna tartare for her appetizer;l had the seafood bisque soup. With two drinks a piece and coffee/tea at the end of the meal, the bill was $250. A bit pricey but welcome to NYC.

Visited this restaurant for business lunch with another 4 colleagues. The food was tasty but nothing special. The service, however, was way poorer than what I expected. I had a lobster roll and after eating it asked 3 times, from 3 different waiters, for wet wipes. In all 3 occasions I received a “yes, yes” answer but did not receive anything... than, I asked for a Double Espresso, and received a pale version of it. When I told the waiter about it he took away the coffee, however the bill was not credited accordingly.

It's hard to find a decent restaurant close to the theatre district with good food and service. Oceana was a great find. The restaurant was big, with a bar in the middle. Tables were nicely spread throughout the restaurant, you had some privacy, unlike some restaurants in NY, service was friendly and the food was very good. Our waiter asked us if we had theatre plans, and accordingly he paced our evening with plenty of time to spare. They even had a pre theatre dinner which was reasonably priced. I cannot emphasize how happy I was to find this option for pre theatre. I give it my GoldnAdvice seal of approval.

We had eaten at Oceana a few years ago and had such good memories, that we booked again, following a Saturday Broadway matinee. We splurged a bit, sharing three appetizers between the 3 of us. The oysters were wonderful, with a set of three sauces, including a tasty mignonette. The halibut ceviche was prepared beautifully, and delicious. Most decadent was the foie gras and lobster appetizer, and amazing. It being Passover, the staff prepared a special amuse bouche for me, and our son, who is gluten sensitive. They also brought delicious matzah when requested, in addition to lovely rolls. We had a Mallorcan wine, Sant Gal 2010, which paired well with the appetizers, and was one of the most affordable on the very extensive list ($85). Dinners we tried were the Halibut, the Swordfish, and the Trout. All were expertly prepared and delicious, though the Swordfish was the favorite. The dessert list is varied, with several flavors of sorbet and gelato, that are far from vanilla and chocolate. Coffee was excellent. Dinner, with appetizers, desserts, coffee, pre-dinner drinks, wine, post-dinner port came to approximately $200 a person with tax and tip, but was worth it!! Service was efficient, friendly but not intrusive. The staff did not bring the check, until asked, which was appreciated.

It was a very bad experience, food was very bad for the price, service was mid, and the whole time there was construction noise

Nice place (next to DelFrisco's). Had the tasting menu. Both food and service were top notch. Prices were good for this level in NYC.

The restaurant provided an atmosphere of both relaxation and pampering. Not only were we serviced by our excellent waiter, Eleazar, but other staff were attentive and available to meet our needs. From the salad with fresh anchovies, to the tasty crab cakes and truly delicious Halibut (highly recommended by Eleazar!), we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! We also enjoyed our intermezzo treats. We look forward to another opportunity to dine at Oceana.

We went here for a pre theatre meal. Special birthday type dinner. The service and food were not to be compared with anything I have ever had before. We will definitely be back....the ceviche was amazing.

Absolutely amazing place. Seafood excellent for a multi chain restaurant. Very fresh. Service excellent with Paul George knowledgeable and leading the way. Would go again for.sure with bug customers Thx RR

Oceana restaurant was very busy on a Thursday for an early dinner. The bar area was packed as well as the large restaurant space. The service here is impeccable, attention to every detail. Alejandra was friendly and engaging. We loved her! The bread service was warm focaccia. There’s nothing like warm bread. My husband and I started out with cocktails, I had a very well-made Paloma. We began with appetizers - he had the grilled octopus and I had the yellowtail crudo. Both appetizers were delicious. The grilled octopus was grilled to perfection and not rubbery. The yellowtail was fresh and buttery. We the ordered seafood dishes for dinner. My husband had the branzino and I had the halibut. Both fish were fresh, prepared deliciously and tasty. I ended with a cappuccino which was perfectly frothed. I do recommend this restaurant for its fresh fish, stellar service and great cocktails & food. Just be sure to make reservations before you go.

The final of Diane's three Birthday Dinners; this was a tremendous restaurant. Service was excellent, food delicious and well presented; and the prices was reasonable. She loved it; we loved it; we'll be back the next time we are in the City.

We didn’t have a reservation but walked in and the hostess was very polite and seated us in the bar area immediately as there were no tables in the main restaurant. Our server was very kind and polite and everyone was gracious. The food was lovely and the servings were very reasonable. The prices were high for us Texans but reasonable for NYC. Would definitely recommend.

We came here for a business dinner. Was a bit worried when we first walked in. Bar was packed and extremely noisy. Once we got to our table in the dining area it was much better. Didn’t really notice the noise at all. Service was slow. Ordered drinks and it took a good 15 minutes before we got them. I had shrimp cocktail and tuna for dinner. Food was nothing spectacular. Between the noise and slow service there are plenty of other seafood restaurants around so I doubt I’d return.

We typically visit Oceana for cocktails and appetizers. The bar is upscale and relaxing. Cocktails are great- we enjoy the cheese plate as well. Overall good experience every time we visit Oceana.

Lovely, large seafood restaurant, with large bar area in the theater district; very nice staff. Good halibut, but it came covered with mushrooms which I'd requested to be left off, a bit sloppy for a Michelin star (not to mention high prices), with no apology (a wafer-thin mint perhaps?), except from the server's whose fault it was not.

A great seafood restaurant in NYC, with a great and very friendly staff. The service and food were both excellent.

My better half had picked this place out. It had great reviews, was reasonably close to our hotel, and looked very nice. It also had sea food, and after all the steak houses, it would be a nice change. We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation, and were seated promptly

This was a delicious meal, the sea scallops were delicious the filet was outstanding and the sides were exquisite. The Yukon Gold potatoes and the gnocchi were absolutely delicious and the oysters clams and lobster appetizer word wonderful. The caviar with absolutely luscious and the service was excellent. We're coming back here for sure

Absolutely nothing special about this restaurant. I have had more inspired seafood at less expensive places. No catch of the day.

The food here was outstanding. It was well-prepared and had a lot of options to suit different palates, and the waitstaff made sure that no one had any allergies, while taking our orders. They also asked if we were going to a show later so they could make sure we got our food in time. They had a Passover menu for anyone observing and permitted modifications to certain dishes.

On a recent visit to New York we had dinner at Oceana, a seafood restaurant in the base of a skyscraper near the theater district. The restaurant is large and very modern. We ordered the three course price fixed pre theater menu. It was $55 or $95 with wine. I went for the wine option. This included four small pours of wines matched to the different courses. It is good value. The first pour was a small production grower champagne that was excellent. The wine steward talked us through all the wines presented. This one was so good I went home and ordered some from our local wine store. The waiter brought focaccia break with olive oil for dipping. It was quite good. We both opted for the selection of four oysters as our first course. This was served with a Sicilian white wine. A good choice. Our next course was mahi mahi on a bed of mashed potato and broccolini. This was matched either an Italian red wine that was light with little tannin. It was a good choice. Dessert was an upscale version of a creamsicle. This was served in a rocks glass and included a mild orange ice cream (or sorbet) whipped cream and a crunchy base. It was very good. The wine was a tokay from Hungary. This was good too. Are there negatives? The wine list is large but quite expensive. Very few bottles under $100. The a la carte menu is pricy, however the pre theater menu is a great deal, especially in Midtown Manhattan. We plan on returning.

I would give them 5 stars for food and for waiting staff but I can’t for overall because of: In spite of my reservation I made few weeks in advance and my confirmation few days in advance when we came we had to wait for our table for more than an hour. In my opinion it is unacceptable but again food was just delicious and staff was amazingly good and professional . And we also like the space which was very spacious and light in decore.

The three-course meal was perfectly curated, with the Catskill Chicken as the standout—juicy, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Excellent service and a warm ambiance made it even better!

Outstanding service and delicious food. Nice, spacious atmosphere that is great for groups as well. The Scottish Salmon melts in your mouth - so good! One thing I really loved is as they seat you they ask up front about any time constraints (so if doing a pre-show dinner, they make a conscious effort to get you out in plenty of time)!

Excellent service. Immediately accommodating when we added an extra member at the last minute. Food was delicious. Recommending smocked scallops, tuna tartare. Others were quite satisfied as well. Nice atmosphere, not too noisy. Plenty of room. We are on a Saturday night at 7, and it was busy, but not a madhouse.

Early evening they have a couple of pre Theater three course opportunities. Best Old Fashioned ever. Nice selection of Oysters and raw bar. Steak also very good and there is always Lobster in the house.

Dinner with friends before a show. Host was most accommodating in finding us the quietest place in the restaurant. (Quite a noisy, happening bar scene out front; but much quieter in back.) Service was excellent. Each person's meal was delectable - flavorful & perfectly prepared for the specific food.

Popular continental cuisine restaurant for diner and bar. We were in a separate glass enclosed room which was nice for the group. Food is typical continental that most people would say how great it is, but continental is generally bland and boring to me. Appetizers were better than main course.

We went there on a Friday for a casual lunch, and couldn’t have been more impressed. The decor, the service, and the food were all spot on. Pricing is what you would expect for the area, so no surprises. Wish we lived closer and could go more often!

Excellent seafood restaurant. Great service. Great dish presentation. My fish was just excellent and the right size. Good wine selection available. Requires reservation

I always make sure to visit here whenever I'm in the city with my parents. The atmosphere was warm and elegant. The food is great and the staff was friendly too.

We live in a landlocked state so whenever we travel we look for great seafood. We found it at Oceana. It was pricey but we knew that going in. We shared a selection of 8 oysters. Very good. My husband had the lobster scampi linguine. He loved it. I had the grilled monkfish with manila clams and escarole. That was exquisite! We shared a tasty but not memorable dessert. Our server was helpful and professional. We requested a quiet table and got one--the restaurant is quite loud as it is so big! We throughly enjoyed our meal here and would recommend it for great seafood!

This might be my shortest review, yet! So, Keep reading..... Stay at the Marriott Marquis. See a Broadway show. Walk to Oceana for their pre theatre priced fixed dinner. Large, attractive atmosphere. Professional and informative waiters. Everything is deliciously fresh and worthy of these stars .I've frequented this eatery for many years. Enjoy.

Stopped in here when their summer pop up beer garden was closed for a private event. Staff was gracious and welcoming when we explained we only wanted drinks on the patio. Drinks were potent, and served promptly. The cheese plate was presented beautifully and was a perfect size for 3 people to share. A lovely cocktail experience which made us want to return here for dinner next time we're in NYC.

Had a few drinks with my friends here last week. The cocktails were perfectly mixed, and the Chipotle Dynamite Shrimp was absolutely delicious—crispy, spicy, and full of flavor. Great service from staff as well.

Excellent seafood dishes; great presentation; rather expensive wine list, but there are few reasonable good options; nice dining room with ample space. A must in Nyc !

Had dinner tonight at Oceana and have nothing but praise. The food was good and fresh, and the wait staff was even better. I started with the jumbo shrimp and they truly were large and succulent. I followed with the Fluke Cerviche appetizer. It was fresh and tasty. For my main entree I had the Lobster FraDiavlo. The combination of spices was perfect. The lobster was meaty, fresh and delicious. The waiter-wait staff was attentive without being overbearing. A great meal and a great time. P.S. A shoot off to Yaro Ortiz for running a great restaurant.

We had dinner at Oceana last Friday night. It was our third visit this year and we had another good experience. This is a seafood restaurant with an extensive win3 list. Oceana offers a three course price fixed menu at $65. This is a pre theater menu, only available between 5:00 and 6:00. Another $40 makes it a wine pairing dinner. I took advantage of that option. It started with a glass of champagne with the appetizer, two wines with the entree and a fourth wine with dessert. The portions are larger than you might expect. We both ordered the calamari as the first course. We took home more than half! My wife had the mahi mahi entree. I ordered the hanger steak with frites. It was excellent. Some of that came home too, We both ordered sorbet for dessert. Each portion was two scoops. That I finished! It was served with a red dessert wine, a Vin Santo from Greece. This was a great experience. The staff is very attentive. The three course dinner is a great deal, considering you are in a great looking restaurant in midtown Manhattan. We plan to return.

Pricey but terrific seafood. Nice wait staff. Had yummy caprese and halibut in broth. Bar is hopping during happy hour.

We, like many others, were here before seeing a Broadway show. Oceana is convenient to many of the theaters, and they are geared toward giving you a gourmet experience but also getting you out the door on time. We were a little tight on time (our fault) but they didn't make us feel rushed and we still made our show on time. We opted for the 3 course Prix Fixe and we both chose the lobster (at a $15 premium to the $49 Prix Fixe). The lobster was perfectly prepared, sweet, tender, just as it should be. The salad was lovely, and the S'more dessert was to die for. The dining room is elegant and dramatic. I was glad we were seated in a booth which was very roomy for two people, but cozier. Overall the food was excellent and the service was too.

Great food. Very good and previous service. Prices raised a bit. E.G. Sole $92. You should definitely reserve a table in advance

We went here to celebrate my birthday. I wanted lobster. The food was fantastic, as well as the service. When you walk in you enter the bar area. Typical loud NYC atmosphere. Once you get into the restaurant area, it quiets down a little. The service was quick. Our waiter was Pedro, who was friendly and professional. Food was delicious. We will definitely come back here again. Very pricey, but for a special occasion, it is well worth it. My husband has the fluke. he said it was fantastic. I had the lobster. They only offer two sizes though 1.25 pound for $45 and 3 pound for $120. I would have like a 2 pound. haha The Shrimp bisque was delicious also. They had provided a taste treat for my birthday. Not sure what it was, but I think it was a chocolate mousse with a dark chocolate inside.

Did the 3 course meal for $49 and another $25 for the wine pairing. the wine pair was excellent and very nice pours also. We were kind of rushed because we got there late, but the service was smart and professional and helping us work things out to get out on time. So we were a little rushed, but that was our fault. The food is very good and I would certainly go again. Lots of different fish options and that was nice. the regular menu was just a little expensive for us.

Wow. What a great meal! We all had seafood, each dish was terrific. The atmosphere is great, the staff is helpful and the presentation is wonderful. It feels like one of those places that has been there forever, but doesn’t rest on its laurels, it’s always trying to keep up…and it does. Now…bring the wallet. But, that’s the point of going out, to enjoy yourself! Great night!

Went with business colleagues which was obvious. First problem was when I asked for the wine list a waiter starts pestering me with his recommendations, all $200 plus of course, possibly hoping to embarrass me int just saying yes to one of his overpriced suggestions. I eventually asked him to leave me alone and found the a more reasonable wine at $80- per bottle - still not cheap. Not being familiar with NY oysters I then asked for the fattest oysters on the list. I was quite surprised when they served me 6 of the smallest oysters I have ever seen, the shells were probably 2" inches in length, half the size of a reasonable British oyster. For mains I asked what a Dorade was and was told it was a mediterranean fish, I asked if they had any local fish, they said no. Dorade turned out to be sea bream which was OK and sevred with large leaves of winter greens on top. We ended up spending north of $700- for 5 of us. All in all I was singularly unimpressed. The food was poor (oysters) to average (fish) the selection available limited, wines expensive and the waiters bothersome and surly.

This is a lovely looking space, though very large. The service was excellent, but the food wasn’t up to the hype. The calamari was great, but my Tempura Softshell Crab was barely edible, covered with a thick, tasteless batter. Not one of the six of us was impressed with the food. The place looks like it caters to business people on big expense accounts. It was definitely a tourist destination.

If you need a mid-day restaurant where you can speak and hear your guest, this is the place to go. There are multiple booths for two or three people and the tables are spaced far enough from each other so there is some modicum of privacy and quiet. A varied sea food menu, served with precision. It’s not cheap

Celebrated our 49th wedding anniversary before seeing Network and found the experience to be a bit disappointing. We ordered of the pre theater fixed menu and I ordered the lobster with a $15 up charge which came overcooked and very dry and came only with a small side dish of potatoes. Our waiter showed no enthusiasm in doing anything but taking our order and when we asked to take our desert he said he could only give some cookies since our desert choice would not "travel". Ryan stepped in and packaged our desert and added another for our anniversary treat. In summary, one could have a better experience just about any place else for half the price

We just popped in here for a glass of wine! Menu looked great and the atmosphere was awesome! great service

I am writing this review while still in the restaurant. I have to say that due to some of the reviews i have read on tripadvisor, i had some doubts before coming here. That is the main reason i am writing the review right now. We have had a lovely dinner. From the moment we entered the restaurant until the end of the dinner, the service was perfect. Very helpful waiter, Pedro, and also the others (at least two persons) who served the food and cleaned the table. The food was absolutely delicious. I can highly recommend the Pacific white sea bass and the swordfish. Simply amazing. Same for the cocktails - Spicy gin using Botanist gin. Don’t hesitate for a second to choose this restaurant. We are picky and we appreciate good restaurants, nice ambience, good food. Great choice!

Lovely place for fine dinning and couples date. We had 6 meals set menu with sea food with 2 entrees , 2 mains and 2 deserts. We got to meet the Chef who was very kind to take a photo with us and we received a complemntry coccunt ice cream. The food was great and excellent for my preferences and my religious believes ( Muslim). It is highly recommended for couples in NewYork.

We had dinner here on our last night in NYC. Oceana is a very happening place. The hostess seated us in a booth which was lovely as we looked out over the entire dining area. Our server Alejandra was lovely — in every way. We started with drinks followed by salad and fresh clams. Our mains from our point of view arrived a little earlier than expected - Dover sole and branzino…both beautifully prepared all washed down with a lovely Pinot Blanc from Humbrecht. Desserts and coffee finished off a lovely and memorable evening.

Beautiful restaurant with professional staff. However, the waiter was intent on upselling. We had the seafood tower portion that he recommended for two. We had asked if it might be too much food since we planned on getting entrees and he assured us that it wasn't. Needless to say-it was way too much for two. My wife had the halibut and I had the Dover sole. Both were woefully overcooked. We won't be back.

Solid midtown option if you want a break from noisy steackhouses. Their lunch & theatre prix-fixe menus are an excellent deal. More expensive at dinner. We had great wine and seafood that night, alongside a complimentary anniversary cake. Kudos to the staff !

Beautiful Restaurant. Excellent Service. Very good food. We got a Lobster Pasta, a mushroom soup and crab cakes. Love return.

We returned a few nights ago to Oceana, our favorite mid-town seafood restaurant, with another couple, and although it is still a bit on the pricey side, the food is delicious. On this visit I ordered lobster bolognese, which comes in two sizes. It was really good, and I would have it again. The bill came to $260 for four of us, including tip, tax and a round of drinks. My wife also had the lobster bolognese and liked it as much as I did. Service was attentive and professional, but not overbearing. All in all, this was another terrific meal for each of us. One negative issue is that the fabric on the banquettes is noticeably wearing away and needs replacement, and soon.

Good fish restaurant. Excellent for raw while cooked is good but very elaborate (loaded with seasoning). Which for a European customer is a bit excessive. Wide choice of wines and “significant” price. Friendly and prompt staff.

Had really good food. The Halibut and Scallops were excellent. Food is very pricey and the wine is very overpriced. Service was very good and the pace of dinner was great. Did a nice job of recognizing a birhtday.

My wife and I visited this "upscale" restaurant for lunch on a visit to New York in late November. I had worked on Park Avenue for years, so I knew the neighborhood and was not surprised to see so many of the cliental in suits etc. We, of course were dressed in tasteful tourist. We were promptly seated and in due course gave our order to the attentive waiter. We ordered a nice bottle of Sancerre to start. I ordered tuna tartare which was just okay, my wife had a good mixed green salad ( hard to mess up). We then had to wait for over 45 minutes for our main courses! For the main course I had a so so lobster roll and excellent fries. My wife ordered the grilled Branzino $38.00, which was a disaster. It was as if they took discarded pieces of fish and buried it under the sauce. It was virtually uneatable. The waiter apologized and said he had advised the manager who deducted the tuna tarter from the bill, but she never came to explain or apologize. Just avoid this place, there are a lot of much better choices.

I was in the city for business, and my cousin works in the city a few days a week. We met for dinner at Oceana at his recommendation. It's one of his favorites. Great choice We started by splitting an order of the Crab Cakes (crab cakes, spicy coleslaw, green goddess) which was excellent, very meaty, little filler. For my main course, I ordered the Seared Halibut (crushed sunchoke, wild mushrooms, spinach) which was exceptional. The preparation as I like it, nicely browned, tender, white flaky, with a nice finish. Our waiter was attentive, however, he saw that we were actively engaged in a conversation, so he interrupted infrequently. I ordered a nice glass of wine, and the bread was exceptional too. Excellent choice, highly recommended.

Excellent dinner tonight! Special shout out to sommelier Matthew for exceptional suggestions and attention. Food perfectly prepared, service outstanding.

We had dinner at Oceana on Friday night. They have a three course pre theater menu priced at $55 or $95 with a pairing of four wines. The restaurant is elegant and the service excellent. They start you off with an excellent focaccia with olive oil alongside. We both had the price fixed menu. My wife did not go for the wine pairing. My wife started with the mixed green salad, I had a version of ceviche. The sommelier was excellent and started me with Pierre Moncuit champagne, a small producer grower champagne from the region. I had this before on our previous visit. It is excellent. The wine with the first course was a Spanish white wine as I recall. For the main course, my wife had the seamed mussels with frites. I had the skate. Both were excellent. The wine was an Albariño, as I recall. For dessert we both had the orange creamsicle parfait. It was good too. The other choices were cookies, ice creams or sorbet as I recall. The dessert wine was Moscato. This was a great experience. It would be hard to find any negatives. We plan to return.

While visiting NYC we wanted seafood and tried this restaurant. They offer full menu as well as a pre-theatre 3 course with optional paired wines. On either menu are excellent raw oysters from all over the world. Not enough seasoning or flavor on the branzino fish dish.

Large restaurant with a busy atmosphere. excellent service and good raw bar and other food choices. A bit noisy to have a conversation but overall nice

Frankly by chance, via a glimpse of the customers' plates, and then my daughter noted the address and before our return to Montreal, we had lunch in this place, the decor, the menu, the staff captivated us! Value for money, service, nothing to say, I recommend +++ the XL portions, the XXXL service. In short, I hope to come back as soon as possible! Thank you for the welcome, the service and the place.

Not really prepared for a really good meal as I’m not into fancy restaurants Good food at dumps is my forte . I’d have to say the fish and chips were the best I’ve ever had . I even asked want kind of fish as it wasn’t cod . It was hake and I goggled it . The salads the ladies had were excellent. A good crab cake on one but you never can get a real one out of Baltimore area !!! Over all excellent lunch but pricey and parking was outrageous ! Great decor and outstanding service !!3

We popped in for a quick lunch, very attentive service we had Rose wine, Lobster roll and Soft Shell Crab BLT perfect light lunch.

Oceana is a great restaurant for major occasions. They really know how to do seafood here from oysters to bronzino. Very elegant dining. Excellent service. Extensive selection of wines.

Bad food bad service. They refused to exchange a dish because I don't like. The dish was very $50. The waiter need training in customer service.

We had a wonderful meal at Oceana pre- theatre on a Wednesday evening. We selected the trout and it was absolutely delicious. Our waiter indulged us with a beautifully presented & delicious chocolate dessert - an option that was not among the selections. We were also amazed to have our wine glasses refilled. Definitely convenient to Broadway. We will return.

we dined here on new year's eve choosing some of the items on the a la carte menu. we had a good time, the waiter who assisted us was very nice and friendly. the atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant is practically in times square. recommend

Celebrated my birthday here after hearing some sterling recommendations. Fish, fish and more fish...it was fantastic. There was nothing I didn’t like- from extensive wine list to excellent service...maybe because I wasn’t picking up the cheque

We had a delicious dinner (pre-theater, three courses). We went early since we had a 7:00pm curtain time. Although the restaurant had a large crowd at the bar, the main dining room was sparse at first. It quickly filled up with New York business people, making us feel as if we were part of the "in crowd." My husband ordered the amazing fried calamari as a first dish and we both had the market special fish: monkfish in this case. The fish was tender and tasty and for dessert I had the three sorbets. A light finish for a succulent dinner. But what made the evening really special was our waiter, George Lara. He must have the kindest eyes in New York and was extremely attentive. A very special experience.

As someone who grew up near the Mediterranean, my standards when it comes to seafood is high— and this place absolutely delivered.

Excellent dining experience. Good wine and meal suggestion from our servers and the meals were excellent. Oceana caters well to the Broadway show attendees - mention it when you check in and the service will be prompt but thorough.

Came here for a business lunch. They have a larger menu with lots of options. They afe flexible too. I had a salmon filet over salad. Solid light option.

Thrilled to discover a seafood spot that truly nails the seasoning. The rest of the menu looks amazing — I’ll definitely be returning to explore more!

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night during the Christmas season, right before attending a Broadway show. The place was crowded, but we had made a reservation weeks before online, so we were warmly greeted and promptly shown to our table in a quieter section of the restaurant. The drinks were great and the fixed price pre-theater menu had several choices, so we chose that. My fish of the day (hake) and my wife's chicken dish were delicious. My favorite part was the list of wines by the glass; not only several choices, but wines such as gruner veltliner and vermentino were included, rarely available in my experience. The service was excellent and team-oriented. There was no problem making it on time to our nearby show!

We went to Oceana with business suppliers and clients and where disappointed. How can you serve a warm bottle of champagne? The sommelier came back, offered glasses of the house champagne until our chosen champagne was chilled but they had already spoiled the moment. My husband ordered a bottle of chardonnay for the rest of the table and they did not bring him a glass until he complained with the waiter. Three persons in the group ordered Sea Bass and the waiter came back apologizing because they went out of Sea Bass. Oceana staff, please get your act together!

We had a short time to get to the theater and Oceana came through with a three course pre-theater menu. Two fish choices, great appetizers, and three dessert choices, none with chocolate which my wife can’t eat. Great service too.

From the moment we walked it we knew it was going to be a fabulous time and meal, it was!. Everyone happy, great vibe and staff extremely friendly. In our seats with the tasting menu with wine. Stewart super knowledgable and fun! Octopus to die for as was the crab cake. We are sea-foodies and have ate all over NY and the world. We give Oceana a 10!!! Reasonable prices for an off the charts experience. TYVM. We will BBack!

We were looking for a good restaurant within walking distance of Radio City Music Hall. Oceana was not only close, but a very good choice. Excellent service so no worries about running late. Delicious entrees — swordfish was a favorite at the table. For dessert, you need to try the Liquid Nitrogen Cracker Jack sundae — it’s a show in itself!

While in NYC for the marathon, my son and I visited Oceana Restaurant. The restaurant has floor-to-ceiling windows and the floor is open and airy. Despite there being many patrons, it was very quiet, making conversation enjoyable. The staff is very helpful, pleasant. (I asked where the restrooms are and a staff member escorted me there.) There is a very extensive menu. The food was very delicious, served beautifully. We would have liked to have ordered the 4-course Chef's Tasting Menu but the server advised against it since we had theater tickets for a show which began in 90 minutes. I finished my meal with a perfect, small dessert of gelato. A lovely place to go before the theater. We will definitely return the next time we are in NYC.

Meal and service were great. Recommend octopus and ceviche appetizers. Outstanding. We were not rushed it being quite busy. Would definitely return.

Standing room only in crowded bar, had a reservation so walked right in, sat rigt dow, had great dinners and desserts

Wow! I wanted to share my experience and gratitude for the incredible experience we had at Oceana while celebrating my sister’s birthday. The staff at Oceana, truly made the celebration a resounding success. The outstanding service we received from the hostess who helped keep our surprise, and Matt, the sommelier, who eloquently guided us through the wines, and Jose, our server, whose professionalism and charm added immensely to our enjoyment, was truly exceptional. The chef’s tasting menu with the wine pairing was exquisite. We delighted in the diverse array of appetizers and had the pleasure of savoring every pasta dish on the menu, thanks to the accommodating size of our group. The crabcakes were delightfully light and flaky, and the lobster pasta surpassed expectations – a remarkable feat (I live in Maine)! The filet mignon stood out, cooked to perfection. We are looking forward to planning our next trip to NYC and our next opportunity to explore Oceana's menu whenever we find ourselves in New York. The incredibly delicious food undoubtedly contributed to the evening’s joy, but what truly stood out was the warmth and dedication of Oceana’s team. Our private room added an extra layer of delight, and we’re sincerely thrilled to have such a wonderful space to celebrate in. It was heartening to see the restaurant bustling with activity, a testament to its well-deserved success. The elegant and lovely style was evident in every aspect of our visit, and we left with hearts full of gratitude and admiration and our stomachs satiated. Thank you to everyone at Oceana for creating such a memorable celebration. We look forward to returning!

Sad to report this was a very disappointing visit…I had high expectations with the environment and menu options but left frustrated. The food overall was just not good. The basic salad with lemon dressing was nothing special and probably would have been better with a balsamic dressing or something else to make it worth $20…the fries were not crispy, we got charged for 2 bottles of sparkling water although the water wasn’t left at the table ($23), the pasta was warm at best and the wine was cool but not “chilled”. I was ready for a great meal and the only reason I mention prices is because it was super frustrating to get the bill and see what was charged when the quality and service weren’t there.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner. The waiter was perfect. The food prepared and presented in an outstanding manner. The restaurant is beautiful. Clean and inviting. Thuan you for a great experience.

The halibut was terribly over-salted and I was offered a complimentary red wine whilst made to wait for a complimentary replacement that never arrived !!!

Friendly service, great looking place. Went on weekday, cleared out early and noise level dropped. Most in sport coats, so look like work dinners. Reasonable prices, nice selections. Pasta was pretty darn good. Wine guy helpful. Everything we had was pretty good, nothing was spectacular. Good time, good food, nice experience.

Met some friends here for dinner, on a fleeting visit to NYC in the middle of a polar vortex and with a shocking cold making me feel pretty miserable. What a great place to come. The loud and buzzy bar gave way to a much quieter and more refined dining room, comfortable seats, noise levels low enough that we could actually talk and listen. Also we had really excellent service staff, a chatty and funny waiter who didn't intrude, and a fabulous menu. The sort of menu where you want to order all of it, and if I lived in NYC I would be back often enough to work my way through. I went for fish, halibut, because it only seemed right given the name, but they do equally good meat dishes which some of my colleagues ordered and they were happy to go off-menu for a special request. Everything was delicious. Not a cheap eat, but well worth the money and the kind of place you want to linger. Recommended.

After lockdown it was great to be able to enjoy NY’s fabulous restaurant scene again. Oceana is a classy seafood restaurant in midtown (near Rockefeller plaza). There are other menu options if you don’t want seafood! Spacious, tasteful decor inside - no outside seating as far as I know. Excellent food, wine and service as you would expect for a high end restaurant. Great for special couples or family dinners, and perfect for business dinners.

Mr friend and I visited here a couple of time during our trip to New York as it was very close to our hotel. We only had cocktails and nibbles but they were excellent. I think we had the best hummus either of us have ever tasted in our lives! The bar has a real vibe about it and is very popular so it can get very loud. Great attentive staff. We’ll definitely visit here again on our next trip

My wife and I were happy/fortunate to find this restaurant as it was nearby Radio City Hall and a show we would attend later that afternoon. We were also fortunate to a have arrived prior to the lunch crowd so we were able to get a table without a reservation or a wait. When we arrived shortly after noon, there were ample tables available but when we left the restaurant was basically full. The restaurant is classy, spacious and located near many of the important/famous midtown Manhattan sites. The service at the restaurant was excellent. We both ordered the 3 course lunch special at a very reasonable midtown Manhattan price of $37.50 each. For the starter, I ordered the oysters (4) and my wife ordered a salad. The oysters and salad were both fresh and tasty. For our main entree, we both ordered the grilled branzino and had the sorbet for dessert. Overall, we were pleased to have found this restaurant and would recommend it to those who are in the midtown/Rockerfeller Tower/Radio City Hall area.

The place was LOUD when we arrived but the maitre'd gave us a booth away from the main area, which allowed for reasonable conversations without raising our voices. The ambiance felt like any of those steak house chains catering to business customers. Service was fine overall. We never felt rushed. The bread was disappointingly bland. Caesar salad appetizer was excellent, a couple more anchovies would have been nice. The sea scallops were perfectly prepared and nicely arranged. Wife's halibut was according to her -- okay. Nothing to write home about. We very much enjoyed the cinnamon panna cotta for dessert but couldn't really taste much of cinnamon in it?! The single glass wine selection was very decent, with good options for every taste. All in all, we enjoyed our meal, yet the price tag for it did not feel at all commensurate with the value delivered. I don't mind a big tab but for that I'd expect a more pleasing ambiance and a step up in food quality and/or excitement delivered with the preparation.

Great food and service. Even brought us a happy anniversary dessert. We always visit when in New York. One of our favorites. Quite loud and popular with the business crowd.

Is 9PM the new 3AM in NYC? It could be at Oceana. While they happily accept 9PM reservations, they expect your dinner order by 9:15PM and for you to be gone as soon as possible and certainly not linger past 10pm! The staff was, rude, overbearing, unprofessional and solely interested in getting us out the door. The quality of the food want wonderful, but given that tone, who cares? As a native New Yorker, I warn you: don't expect polite service past 9pm, or choose a restaurant that is happy to have you as a customer.

My husband and I eat at bars. He’s deaf in his right ear, and I am deaf in my left. So it works. We visited Oceana in the Times Square area last night where I think every young professional in NYC had stopped for a drink. The atmosphere was energizing …loud….but vibrant. The food was great. But the highlight of the evening was the bartender, Miguel, who kept his eye on us and made us feel welcome. We paid and left the restaurant and I heard my name called. I’d left my credit card on the bar, and Miguel had run after us. Extraordinary. My husband noted that this was the first time in our 40 yer marriage that I had done that. Thank you, Miguel, for making our experience doable….and for going the extra mile. Go to Oceana!

The service and ambiance were wonderful. Most of the dishes were quite good, although servings were on the small side. Pricing- reasonable for NY. One serious demerit- the worst crab cakes I have had in forever. All bread- not much more. For $25. And two small cakes- expected much more. Should have sent it back- but was not up for a scene. I would return- but guess what I would not order again?

The service was excellent and nicely with a smile. You immediately forgot the habit of the ladies seating you. They were quite harsh. Seating Austrian guests elsewhere. The seafood was fabulous, the dessert entertaining. We will revisit you.

I had the pleasure of eating here during a recent business trip and was thoroughly impressed. The food was fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. The welcoming atmosphere and excellent service made it a memorable dining experience I’d happily return to.

Enjoyed our meal at Oceana. Excellent service by Ashleigh, great food too! Great spot for a casual meal. Ashleigh was professional and friendly. Loved the crab cakes!0

Popped in for a business lunch as I work nearby. Very good stuff and I can see why it’s a popular place for colleagues. Efficient and polite service, classy interior and decor, very tasty food.

My husband and I had salads and split a swordfish entree. The atmosphere was elegant and the wait staff was extremely efficient, polite, and helpful. I ordered a cocktail and it seemed flat. Our waiter brought another and it was flat, too, so he brought me a new bottle of ginger beer to add to my drink. It was very thoughtful and was the solution. And I didn't get any eye rolls about being fussy. Really nice staff. One thing that they did which really means a lot to me is that they waited until we both finished before clearing dishes...so many waiters don't pay attention to that. My husband got the pana cotta and raved about it. We were so happy to find this restaurant and will definitely return.

I would like to give Oceana more than 3 stars but there were to many little things that made all the difference between a great place and disappointment. On a positive side the place looks spectacular and is obviously very popular. The service from the staff was excellent. The menu was very good with plenty of choices. The salad was good and desert was excellent. The downside was the mixed drinks were not great, I should have sent it back. The monkfish was over cooked and the sauted baby turnips were under done.

We had no issues getting a reservation on Saturday and when we arrived we saw why - the restaurant was practically empty. But we were hungry so what the heck. Let me assure you, the meal was delicious. I had yellowtail crudo and the corn ravioli and both were excellent. DBF had oysters and a salmon entree and his were great too. For dessert we shared the pistachio semifreddo - another delicious treat. Service was excellent (sometimes when a place is not hopping the servers cluster and gossip - not so here - they were wonderful). 100% would go back even in a high tourist zone which can be risky - it was a great meal.

Went to this terrific restaurant this past Saturday night. It was terrific. The ambience was wonderful and when we got there they asked if we’re seeing a show. So they put you in a special area so you have the best service so you can get to the show on time. My cousin had the grilled swordfish confit potato, with broccoli rabe. I had the shrimp bisque with shrimp toast and fall veggies. Both dishes excellent. They even brought a butternut squash soup sampler before the meal. Delicious. Drinks were great as well. I highly recommend this restaurant even if you don’t have a show to go to. Service excellent.

The food was fine, just nothing special and the space was rather industrial. One large room. I would imagine there are much better seafood restaurants to be found.

Three of us had a delicious seafood dinner for my birthday. We skipped the theater menu and ordered two appetizers (crab cake was exceptional) and three dinners - halibut, scallops and salmon. Salmon came out just right and the small taste I had of the scallop was terrific. They are very sensitive to theater timing and ask what time you want to be out and service is quick. I wish I had more time to linger and savor the courses - will have to come back when I don't have to rush.

The feast of the seeven fishes which was a christmas special was as good as it gets. Each of the fishes was special and the service was great

We had an absolutely lovely dining experience at Oceania. The service was great - attentive and friendly. And the food was fantastic. I had the Seared Sea Scallops which were like butter... so yum. My husband had the Sea Bass & King Crab Cioppino which was good but not quite as good as the scallops. :) The staff also were thoughtful about the fact we were on a timeline since we had tickets to a show.

Haven't been there for a while, and we found the service fantastic, the gfood excellent, the choices great

The food is very good, the staff attentive, the prices are high. But the atmosphere, ambiance, space is exceptional. In mid-town Manhattan it doesn’t get any better than this busy but comfortable setting. None of the overcrowding that infects most mid-town restaurants. Spacious seating allows you to enjoy the scene largely composed of businessmen. Highly recommended.

Very much enjoyed our dinner at Oceana while on a recent NYC trip. Dined with friends and we all enjoyed our meals and drinks. Atmosphere was lovely and wait staff were attentive and personable. NYC has many excellent restaurants, and this one is among the best. I recommend and would most definitely return here.

This restaurant is beautiful such a lovely setting. We sat at a booth which was lovely. The menu is varied at a good price. We had surf and turf served at the table. It was a three course meal and could not be faulted one bit. The food was delicious to say the least. Everything cooked to perfection and very well served. The service was amazing. Such friendly and welcoming staff who made our evening just perfect. I can not fault this restaurant and will definitely be visiting again. The wine menu is great too. Varied and well advised on which wine to have with our meal. Reserve your table as I expect a table will be hard to get if you just walk in. The staff made our evening most enjoyable - Thank you for such a great evening at your restaurant.

Went here on a Friday evening and had some great service at dinner! The water pourer would actually have a towel to ensure that none of the water would splatter on the table, we were checked on by multiple waiters several times throughout the meal, and the water glasses were filled every 2-3 minutes / it was very impressive. We started by sharing the lump crab cake - nice portion and good taste. Then I had the scallops which were perfectly cooked (the corn polenta was slightly under) while my friend had the swordfish which was well received. For dessert, we shared the cheese plate where 3 of the 4 cheeses (particularly the blue) were very good. Wines by the glass were reasonable and the meal was so good that we decided to come back the next night for dinner. Unfortunately, Saturday was not as good. The excellent service from Friday disappeared, to the point we needed to track someone down to refill the water glasses. My friend lucked out that the market fish for the pre-theater pre-fixe was mahi mahi, so adding the tasty fish to the mixed greens to start and small cookie plate for dessert was at least affordable. I was not quite as luck, with the roasted beet salad being so-so and then the scallops were clearly not cooked long enough (although this time the corn polenta was spot on). Finally, the chocolate tart was way too rich - so I somewhat regretted coming back the second night. I guess that I would try Oceana again at some point, but at these prices the service needs to be good 100% of the visits, not just half of them

My husband and I ate here before attending Hamilton. We let them know up front what time we needed to leave for the show and they paced out our meal accordingly. We tried the prix fixe menu and loved every course. After dinner we were only a short walk to the theatre.

I have passed by Oceana many times but never visited until my recent trip to NY. I was pleasantly surprised. The food, the ambiance, and the service were terrific. I ordered the theatre menu with wine pairing and it was great and a massive amount of food. The server went above and beyond to make my visit perfect.

Generous portions, delicious food on the pre theatre menu. Was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness of the staff. Very good service, nice environment...easy walk to the show we were seeing.

For me, the best restaurant in Manhattan. Very friendly staff. Exquisite food. Superlative desserts. Don't miss it!

Nice place, delicious food and great presentations. Good attention from the staff. Located in a good area.

Our second visit. Swordfish filet was impressive and delicious. Pork chop was very good and the kitchen accommodated my sides. Brad, our waiter was a delight and made our evening. Professional, competent and such a delight. A bit pricey for wine but very good.

Everyone we interacted with was outstanding - from the front desk, server, sommelier (super young women who had all the crews but left the pretensions at home) and the guy who was always there when a special dish was being presented. Had a seafood tower and an excellently prepared fish special, my wife’s squid ink pasta was just ok but not bad by any means. Had the crazy popcorn desert which was an experience. I will be back and while it is more of a special occasion place, the staff really made this place feel down to earth.

Excellent service and fantastic food. The restaurant is beautiful, light and airy with a really nice ambiance. Our waiter was really fantastic and everyone was really kind and friendly….

Such an excellent meal was had by all three of us. Everything was exactly as it should be in a good restaurant. I had the swordfish which was heavenly. My friends had scallops and halibut. We arrived at 7.15pm and the place was packed... by 9pm it was empty!

We went here last night to celebrate a 60th birthday. I had called in advance to note that it was a special occasion so we did not have to mention it in front of the birthday girl. We ordered desserts. There was no mention of birthday. We told the person preparing a table-side dessert that we were celebrating a birthday. She said, “well you don’t want me to sing” and walked away. We ended up ordering an extra dessert + asked the waitress to put a candle in it. The waitress came back with the dessert we ordered and a complimentary birthday dessert with a candle. I had been hoping that with the advance phone call that that would have been done without us awkwardly having to ask but it worked out in the end. That was the negative(ish) thing. On the positive side, cocktails were delicious, tuna tartare, oysters, shrimp, and calamari, which was not on the menu but which they made for the birthday girl, were all delicious. My halibut was delicious. My friend’s swordfish was delicious. The desserts that we tried were all very good. And while the restaurant is not cheap in the end the bill seemed reasonable, given how much we ordered + the quality of the food. The restaurant is also very spacious and not cramped. It was great for a group. We were seated at a round table and it was very easy to carry on a conversation. I would go back.

Empty tables everywhere 8pm and they tell us there’s no room except the bar. Perhaps they just discriminate against Bostonians or perhaps they didn’t think we would rack up a big enough bill because we were wearing jeans. Big mistake. Will never go back here. Horrible.

We had a group of 10, and they seated us towards the back, on an oval table. It was great and probably the quietest part of the restaurant. The seafood was excellent, and the service did not disappoint. This was our second time at the restaurant. We'll go back again.

From the halibut to the salmon and the incredible calamari, this was a treat! We loved everything we ordered and the dessert presentation (Nitro popcorn ice cream treat) was fantastic! The waiter loved serving it and my daughter loved eating it! While expensive, it was well worth it!

My mom and my "go to" nice restaurant when we visit NYC. We typically do the Tasting menu and it is well worth the price. You get an appetizer, Pasta, Main and dessert. SO much food. Our favorite include the ceviche, crab cake, and allll the desserts are to die for.

I have dined at this place on occasion over the yrs, and it was always delightful. My most recent stop was a happy hour visit, and it made me remember how strikingly good the fried calamari is. I count it the best of my life, and believe me, I’ve had a lot of calamari! Our other edible was a delightful mushroom and sausage pizza, which had a nice kick to it. Add this to decent selection of wine and beers by the glass, and results in a high quality, if not expensive happy hour experience.

We had a delicious meal here. Their menu is smaller than before but still delicious. One of the BEST seafood restaurants in NY with a good wine list.

Not exactly on the cheap side, this place delivers it all. Ambiance is amazing, the service is spot on. The food is beautifully presented and well prepared with layers of taste and complexity that continues to come through

This is a special celebration for my job have reached a milestone, I walked into this restaurant without any reservation, the reception still being kind & welcome , I ordered this mussel clam chowder as appetizer , then main course seared scallop, oh, my god, so so good, tasty , yummy & healthy! Exactly the way I like , thx god, see the pic below ! Love love big Apple more , will definitely come back to this restaurant !

I took my fiance to celebrate her birthday this past weekend and we couldn't have had a better experience. They were offering and Theatre Menu (we had just come from a matinee) and a Passover Menu in addition to their regular menu. We decided to go with the Theatre Menu and it was fantastic. We had Oysters, a Swordfish Ceviche, Hanger steak, seafood pasta, and 2 desserts. They also surprised us with a Birthday dessert that was exceptional. We will certainly come back to enjoy seafood in the city.

I am not going to spend too much time writing this review but our $1000 dinner for 5 last night was blah. We had a horrible experience in the bar. We ordered 3 one ounce servings of caviar and the 1st one arrived in 4 minutes. The 2nd and 3rd servings arrived 25 minutes later after so many comments by staff and finally managers. I don't care what the reason was it ruined the experience and I booked the reservation. In the manager's defense, he brought us 10 oxy-moron "shrimp" the size of your forearm trying to fix the "'problem" but the damage was done. The restaurant was not crowded on a January Saturday night and there really was no excuse. Food was not worth the price. We are halibut experts and it was not the best taste or presentation we have seen globally. Seriously globally. Just okay and a little sad. Sommelier was very (very) knowledgeable and very helpful to find a nice $115 bottle of pinot bottle of wine. It was great. So after many drinks at the bar we settled down to several bottles of Waits - Mast Pinot Noir. At the end of our dinner, when we have been totally served (over) she asks me if I would like a little more wine and pours the last of a bottle. Next thing I know we have a third bottle (already opened and not presented before opening.) being poured. Folks, this is fine dining and not a $$ issue. We did not need another bottle of wine. We had spent a $1000. We left disappointed and I left embarrassed because I was the organizer and the bill was split..

Love this place. We sit in a quiet corner and dine on delicious cuisine in an understated way. Always a solid choice for a nice evening out.

Great, great, great. The food is wonderful. The lobster is divine. The service is amazing, so professional. They know how to pace the dinner so you get to theater. Most importantly, the pre-theater dinner is a bargain. We'll be back.

The food here is just outstanding. I would give it five stars had we not had to ask twice to have our water glasses filled. The restaurant wasn’t that busy. Somebody should have been watching! It is expensive, but when the food is this good and memorable, it is worth every penny. I am not particularly a salad lover, but the Cobb salad with filet minion just sounded so good. And it was! The bread pre dinner was ten times better than the breads we have had with our dinners all week.

Grabbed a drink here before heading to dinner. The outdoor eating area was quiet, but it was also a little earlier @6:00. Nice selection of wine. Enjoyed our wine, but can't review the menu.

The food and wine were very good (if a bit pricey). However, the service was surprisingly poor. We ate early on a Thursday night with only a light crowd. The waiter was a bit aloof and disappeared after the dessert. We had a to ask for a second cup of coffee and again for the check. The waiter finally brought the check and returned the credit card slip without a word. There was an abundance of waitstaff, but most of them seemed more interested to talk among themselves than service customers.

We didn’t have a lot of time before theater tickets, and we ate a late lunch, so we weren’t exactly starving. However, my lobster scampi and husband’s grilled swordfish were perfection, the Sancerre chilled and delicious and we will be back hungry to try more of the wonderful menu items.

we went with 4 other friends -- and all of us felt it was excellent! Needless to say we ordered many dishes between the 6 of us (and shred a bite of everything), and all were delicious and prepared with an eye to detail.

It's not often you find this level of consistency and flavor overseas. I really appreciated how fresh the Branzino was.

Around holiday time, we wanted a good meal before our show but did not make reservations. Oceana was surprisingly quiet, so we had a seat at the bar and enjoyed some wine and an entree. Our server was new but super helpful and nice. The food was excellent - we had seafood and salads. Can't go wrong with seafood there.

Nikki was an amazing sommelier..who suggested interesting, fun and well priced wines! The dover sole was heavenly--caesar salad had perfect amount of dressing and spice. You don't expect an enthusiastic, talented and attentive sommelier at a large restaurant for a pre theatre dinner but this was the best. We added two new spanish wines to our list of favorites...

Very good seafood. Took a bit to get served but we enjoyed it. Very nice oceana tower. Olsetra caviar was very good. Main courses were good, tasty and fresh. The bread was very good!

The menu was varied and provided interesting alternatives to the usual grilled fish with beurre sauce or salsa accompaniments. We dined after the theatre and the full menu was still available. The service was prompt and courteous and the restuarant was not noisy as most serving after theatre meals. Will return and recommend.

Don’t bother unless you are desperate for a place in midtown. Joyless Resturant with no good tables given the dark corners , abundance of service stations and “ waitstaff” traffic across the floor. Rude waiters who argue with patrons and subpar food. Otherwise perfect. So many better options to explore in Manhattan

Came here for a business lunch. They have a larger menu with lots of options. They are flexible too. I had a salmon filet over salad. Solid light option.

We returned to this restaurant after a few years, they had left our hearts because they had celebrated the 18th birthday of our daughter, unfortunately the top restaurant, gave way to a bad one, but always with the same name; I asked for bread and they brought me the focaccia with onion, only with a certain insistence I managed to get some low quality heated bread; I asked for a first course where there was no strong presence of garlic and they told me that it was not possible; then I asked for a classic fish as a second course and they told me that it was not available because the day before they had had so many people for dinner; I fell back on a salmon tartare, inedible ; my wife ordered a risotto with shrimp and basil robiola, which tasted only of onion and anyway the rice was overcooked, icing on the cake we arrived as scheduled at 9 pm and the waiter the first thing he pointed out to order immediately because the kitchen would close shortly, we left after 15 minutes, eating practically nothing, to avoid absolutely

Excellent service provided by Prince. First night we enjoyed the bar menu with fish and fries and fish tacos. Our dinner was complimented with a Bulliet Bourbon Manhattan with delicious blue cheese olives and a fine Pinot Noir! The following night we enjoyed cocktails only, this time prepared by Lisa. Again friendly, responsive service.

Excellent restaurant with a great variety of dishes. Very good service. The place is just a little noisy but if that's not a problem it's very good

The scottish salmon had an incredible depth of flavor. Service was excellent too — very welcoming. Nice ambiance love it here!!!

Our experience at Oceana was a mix of outstanding hospitality and missed opportunities. The sommelier was exceptional—his wine recommendations were spot on, and he even guided us on dining choices. Thanks to him, we enjoyed the Seared Octopus and Lobster Scampi, both of which were bursting with incredible flavors. He checked in on us frequently, ensuring we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, our waiter was barely present—aside from taking our order and reappearing only to drop off the check. Let’s just say our gratitude was much better received by the sommelier, who truly made the night memorable. Despite the uneven service, Oceana’s food and wine selection make it worth a visit. Just hope you get the right team taking care of you!

Very nice presentation and atmosphere in a stylish room with impeccable service. It feels good to be at the bar (as we did) or to have a nice meal. On the expensive side.

We have been to Oceana many times and enjoyed the seafood dinners. This recent experience a week ago however was different. We lived in Maryland for over 40 years and I was in the hotel and restaurant business before retiring to Colorado. When I saw lump crab cake on the menu I ordered it, looking forward to one of my favorite things. However, what was served me was not what I expected. Instead of a half baseball size mound of lump crabmeat, I got a round flat looking thing that looked like a McDonald's hamburger. Upon further examination it was clear that there was no "lump" crabmeat in the thing, but just some shredded crabmeat and filler. When I pointed this out to the server she said she would take it back to the chef. When she returned she said the chef said it WAS a lump crab cake. Say What? I asked for the manager and he appeared and supported the chef. To me this was completely unacceptable. I knew full well what I was talking about and this restaurant, known for fine dining, high prices and a Michelin star, was stonewalling me and trying to fool me. Sorry. Obviously I will not go back again, there are a lot of other great restaurants in New York that don't do something like this.

Together with Aquagril, this restaurant ranks among the best two fish restaurants in NYC (Lê Bernardin is “hors concours”). Make sure you eat the oysters!

Celebrated our anniversary on a Monday night at Oceana and we were not disappointed. The service was impeccable and the ambiance in the dining room is really impressive. I had the soft shell crabs for my entree and they were simply the best. My wife had the halibut which was cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. The restaurant was not particularly crowded on a Monday night so we received a lot of attention from all the servers. We also enjoyed the wine list as we were able to order some very different French champagne at sparkling wine prices. Interestingly, we dined at Ocean Prime two nights later and it was awesome as well. I would rate the two seafood restaurants a toss up as both are wonderful spots to celebrate and enjoy a great upscale seafood experience.

We had an amazing and delicious dinner to celebrate our 25th anniversary. Our server was attentive and friendly, and we enjoyed our interaction with the sommelier, Matthew, who was both helpful and knowledgable. At the end of our dinner, the restaurant kindly served a delicious complimentary dessert to help us celebrate our anniversary!

We enjoy this restaurant. It is modern, upscale, white table cloth. They were very accommodating and we had a multigenerational family of 11 all at one table. We had a long leisurely and conversational time. Excellent venue, excellent menu and food, service was outstanding - particularly when you consider the number of diners. We come here every time we visit Manhattan.

This is a wonderful restaurant. The decor is simple and elegant, the atmosphere is busy but peaceful. You can hear your dinner companions easily. The service is attentive. The wait staff is knowledgeable and willing to share their views of the menu. And the Dover Sole, while quite expensive, was simply some of the most delicious fish I've ever enjoyed. The food here is truly excellent. It is a splurge, for sure, but a wonderful place to come for a special occasion or to impress a business client. The location is convenient to the theatre district, too, and the service is sensitive to curtain times.
Great food and Service
All six of us ordered a different fish selection, and each of us thought we had the best. It was that good! The service was great, and for a large restaurant that was full, we were surprised that we could easily converse at the table. Got that kind of food, the prices were moderate. This is a good choice!
