Great meal for family gathering

By PJA09 |

Dined here during summer afternoon with large family group. Food was great from start to finish. Ambiance was a bit loud but good if you’re into that kind of thing. Restaurant seats many at full capacity. Overall, very good experience. Given the level of activity, the wait staff is to be commended for their attention and how quickly the food came out of the kitchen. Authentic Turkish food done well. Recommended.

OPera is Really, Really Good

By Nike C |

I've been here twice. Once for lunch with my 16 year old daughter. We both enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend the Borek (get the beef) as an appetizer. Our family also came for dinner. My husband is not that familiar with Turkish cuisine and the waiters were well able to guide him in selections he enjoyed. There are also what I'd call "continental" selections on the menu. The food and the drinks are very good. The place hits the café atmosphere just right. The night we came for dinner, luckily we sat inside, because a woman lit up a cigarette in their outdoor café and no wait-staff said anything to her. She later lit up a second cigarette. Had we been sitting outside we would've asked management to talk to her.

Great Ambience

Enjoyed the Chicken wraps & yogurt. Yummy! Staff is pleasant and helpful. Luckily we went when it wasn't packed. Sat & Sun nights customers are lining outside. Great choice of restaurants for our short trip.

Amazing with everything

By YasBerry |

Food. Plus Service. Plus Atmosphere. Plus Staff. Plus. I've never had a bad experience with anything on the items above. Only thing I can say bad is stop being so good. That's a joke. It's a packed place so get there early. Outdoor seating great for these kind of nights. Everyone must try.

Best of the best Turkish food in Brooklyn

By e s |

Absolutely best food in Brooklyn! I been there many times from their salad to soute dishes everything is tasty, fresh and delicious. They are always busy that's why they rebuild and had more space. Waited time is now less. We celebrated my sisters birthday there and I joined one of my friends baby shower at Opera Cafe. Very good for any size of party but make sure to make a reservation for big party. At shower we were 40people and no body complained about service everything was on time and our servers took care of us very well. If you are meat lover like me, I recommend you to try their lamb shank! It's very huge portion and I guarantee you will love it.

Good food, friendly staff

Great Turkish Food on Emmons

By Michael-Anastasia |

My wife and I have been going to this place very often. They have amazing calf liver cubes, lamb shanks and very good Bronzinni fish! If you're in the neighborhood for a quick dinner and very nice and properly cooked Turkish food - this is the place in SheepsheadBay! Make sure to order yogurt dip for your bread - its very tasty and great as an appetizer.

atmosphere and food quality is almost unmatched in brooklyn

Good food & location

By michael s |

Good food & nice location right on the Bay, service is fine, broad selecton of authentic Turkish meals. The only downside: soft drinks are ridiqulously expensive, they even charge for water.

Nice place to spend the hot summer evening in. Outside portion of the bar can get a little bit crowded at night.

Excellent Mediterranean Restaurant

By irwin34prwj |

Both the food and service were excellent. It is located across the street from Sheepshead Bay and there is plenty of street parking. I was there with a large family group. Our waiter, Mehmet, was very attentive. He answered every question asked of him about the dishes my relatives wanted to order. Everything ordered was cooked to perfection.

Enjoy

By Mar C |

Great fresh Mediterranean cuisine with fine large outdoor space. Make sure to enjoy any meal and taste great Turkish wines.

Nice place for a leisurely meal!

By Susan L |

Really nice 24 hour restaurant across from the waterfront with good food and service. Excellent salads, omelette and desserts (tiramisu, rice and almond pudding).

Must try mix kebob

By e s |

I was at Opera Cafe many times with my friends and family. Their atmosphere and ambiance is very cozy and warm. Everytime my visit to Opera Cafe nothing came up wrong. Taste always perfect. Your every penny will worth. Service is very friendly and fast. I was there for baby shower party with 30 of us! This place also good for big parties. They have also prefix menu. If you are planning for small party ask for it! My breakfast favorites are Eggs Benedict and Crep plate! Dinner plate mix kebab platter and Lamb Shank!

My meal

By Carol G |

Babaganoush tasted like pure Liquid Smoke. Terrible. Mussles were done well in a red sauce. Cigars were tasteless. Goat cheese was good. Service was perfunctory but not friendly or courteous. I would not recommend this eatery to anyone. Not a great atmosphere.

Birthday luncheon

By Amanda H |

We visited the restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday. The atmosphere is great. The food was delicious, the talapia was cooked to perfection which was my choice of meal. One of my sons had the chicken licata it was very tasty. The service was great. I highly recommend this resturant

fancified diner

By JDZatSF |

A fancified diner owned by Turks and frequented by Russians, Jews, and others, they serve good food with excellent service in a nicely decorated restaurant in Sheepshead Bay across from the water. Besides the food, it was a fun cultural experience. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there, but I wouldn't turn it down either.

The best lounge and turkish food in Brooklyn!!!!!

By shayka79 |

My wife and i were strolling on sheepshead bay during evening time, and we were looking for a fun place where we can get great food and a couple of trendy drinks. We stumbled to Opera Cafe by chance and boy where we pleasantly surprised. The food is amazing, def top turkish restaurant in brooklyn, and the drinks where so yummy we had to call car service to take us home.

Mediterranean delight

By Angela B |

Outdoor seating with a great view of Sheepshead bay. Food was delicious. They have everything from crepes to shish kabob.

Brunch - side cafe style

By acc |

Very spacious and relatively well decorated restaurant with many waitresses and waiters. Most are more sophisticated that others. Back lit walls looks great. Food is good. Close proximity to the water and its outdoor sitting area makes it a great brunch spot in sunny days. Its menu is well balanced; in addition to many Turkish dishes there are many other offerings as well. It is a place that it is Difficult not to be pleased.

great location, exelent food and service

By Albert A |

,The food is varied and very tasty, we ordered oriental food, Italian and seafood ,Everything was made good and tasty ,The team worked professionally .On weekends it is recommended to book in advance

Great Turkish lounge in Brooklyn

By Shukhrat M |

Very nice and cozy lounge in south Brooklyn with authentic Turkish cuisine. Very friendly staff and great service.

Wonderful

By Myra H |

My daughter took me to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago - and what a treat it turned out to be. They have plenty of outdoor seating, with ample umbrellas, overlooking beautiful Sheepshead Bay. It was a warm sunny day and the food was delicious. It was so pleasant a hated to leave, but I will definitely be back as I live in the neighborhood, By the way, the food is Mediteranean/Turkish.

Decent Food, Great Service

By MerelyATourist |

My wife and I ate dinner here in late December as part of a large family group of eleven people that including two young children, one requiring a high chair. I had never been here before although several family members had been several times. Initially we were seated opposite the front door. Unfortunately, the frigid temperatures outside that evening resulted in blasts of cold air every time someone came in or went out, which wasn’t good for the children especially. We asked to be seated elsewhere and the restaurant graciously accommodated us, which is not an easy thing to do with such a large group. I can’t speak for everyone in our group but I didn’t hear any complaints from anyone about the quality or taste of the food. Several people in our group ordered the adana kebob as their entree. I chose the lamb chops, partly on the basis of the “chef’s special sauce” described in the menu. Frankly, the sauce wasn’t anything to write home about (but worth mentioning here on Tripadvisor!). That’s an observation, not a complaint. My entree was still quite good. However, if I were to order again I would probably chose the kebob, even if isn't pure lamb. For dessert I had the Turkish custard (Kazandibi) for the first time. I like traditional custard but this was different. I can’t say I liked it as much but I certainly didn’t dislike it. I also tried some Baklava, which I have eaten before and which tasted as good as any I remember. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal, the food was fine and the service was excellent. Given the restaurant’s location right across the road from Sheepshead Bay, it is probably very nice to visit closer to the summer when the boats docked at the piers can be admired while sitting outside or while walking up and down the street to visit shops.

DELICIOUS BRUNCH

Great Food, Decor and Service

By mgur1 |

Went there for lunch, the place is relatively new, big, clean, well decorated with Mediterranean accents. Ordered fried calamari and lamb chops. Enjoyed it. Calamari was soft and tender, lamb chops were great too. Enjoyed it. Affordable price, good service, will definitely come back.

Culinary Goodness

By Edwin Padilla |

Last Friday we ate a Opera with two wonderful people. This being the our first time there. We dined Al Fresco, it was a lovely night. The food was excellent, presentation above expectations, flavor profile very good. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered Beef Kebab with Bulgar wheat, my wife had their Chicken Schnitzel which had a wonderful flavor. Our friends had a whole Branzino and Mussels, they really enjoyed it. I like being impressed when you just randomly select a Restaurant and they bring the love on the plate. The decor, ambiance, and staff were spot on and very professional. I would love to go back and strongly recommend this establishment. Thanks Tripsters Chef Edwin Padilla Good Food... Good Vibes

Among the Best Restaurants in Brooklyn.

By George N |

This is my favorite restaurant whenever I am in Brooklyn because of the delicious dishes they serve at a very reasonable price. Their calamari is the best!

Average

By Bad Ass Babushka |

Went with my daughter and granddaughter. It was great to sit outside and have the baby carriage right next to our table. Service was good and the manager was particularly attentive. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed - this I really enjoyed. The food, however, was nothing special and overpriced for what is was. Desserts looked good, but honestly, it's hard to mess up dessert. I feel no particular reason to return...

A lot of everything.

By Stefan L |

I have eaten here many times. Coming as a couple or a family with kids we experience the same good attentive wait staff. Large selection of Middle Eastern foods and salads,as well as Bacon and eggs for breakfast. Open all day and most of the night. Indoor and outdoor sitting. Alcohol available.

mediocre restaurant but seemed to be very popular

By Audralindley |

Ate there with 2 other couples. They have seating inside as well as outside. It is a fairly large restaurant so no worries about getting in. The food is Turkish. I had the chicken kabob dinner with side salad and mashed potatos. normally it comes with rice but you can substitute mashed or french fries or double salad. For dessert the coffee was excellent and we also had 3 orders of baklava which are very small portions. 2 pieces per plate so you know how much to order if you go there. For appetizers we had the opera salad which was very good, a meat filled crepe and a potato filled crepe-very good and calamari which was not great-edible but not like you would get in an Italian restaurant.

Great Food, Nice Ambience

By Lisa B |

I have frequented this restaurant many times and found the food to be consistently good. if you enjoy Mediterranean fare, this place will not disappoint. It is located across from the water in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn. Parking is easier here than further up near the boats. I love their lamb shank which is falling off the bone. We have had many of their appetizers - delicious! They have a great fruit platter that two can share and cappuccino. If you would like more info on this area google Lisa the Travelista to find my blog or go to travelistasink.com. Sheepshead Bay is a great area to hang out, go to Manhattan Beach in the summer.

Kumpir

By Pasha |

Kumpir was really like in Istanbul Nice decoration Inside-outside places are available Traditional turkish foods

The definition of "eh"

By Bortky |

The only non-eh tasting thing there is their opera wrap, which includes hummus, grilled chicken and tomatoes. The rest of their food is mediocre for their prices, and not worth it.

Excellent Turkish Food and Good Service

By Ira Wechsler |

The family dined here Christmas evening. The restaurant is large and has a modern decor. It was packed so the noise level was a bit high, but in all other details the experience was very positive. I ordered whole pan fried branzino with a goat cheese salad and a spinach yogurt dip. For desert I had triple chocolate mousse cake. My wife ordered branzino filet and cigar rolls which are cheese filled. All food was well prepared and seasoned and quite delicious. Table service was friendly and attentive. Everyone was pleased with their food including my 3 year old granddaughter. This restaurant is in the heart of Sheepshead Bay on Emmons Avenue. The price for a dinner for 4 was quite reasonable and I highly recommend this fine dining establishment to all.

Great location

Excellent food, pleasant service

By Izzy L |

We stopped here on recommendation of a friend and really enjoyed the place. The food was delicious, the service was quick, and place was really nice. Would definitely come back again.

Great Late lunch experience

By Jeanlice |

First time here and I can not stop talking or thinkin about this place! The resturant has indoor and outdoor space that you can usually pick from. We went on a beautiful day, but too muggy for our taste so we headed inside. The decorations inside are spectacular middle easter influenced. The seats are plushie and very comfortable and service is fast and incredibly attentive. The fair is turkish middle easter and its very very tasty. Everything we had was delisious and made to order. The only kind of annoying thing is that you have to pay per soda, since its given to you in a can... so no free refills there. This was not a deal breaker because the quality of the food and service made up for it. It was really grate, can not wait to go back.

A delightful find

By Mary Jane S |

In Sheepshead Bay for a work project, we checked into our hotel and strolled the few blocks to this restaurant - and we're so happy we took a chance. Greeted at the door by a warm and friendly hostess, we viewed the menu and were immediately smitten. Atmosphere was elegant and eclectic, seating included roomy, cushioned booths and great chairs with the individual tables. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, discretely pacing his appearance at our table to coincide with the whole atmosphere of people lingering and just feeling at home. We started with one of the best Mojitos ever experienced and a glass of silken Argentine Malbec. Our food was just delicious and so interesting. My husband is still raving about his meal-sized baked potato that was filled with a crisp lettuce and pico-style salad (one of three choices). I had shrimp and broccoli served over piping hot pasta with an amazing sauce, white wine but with a subtle creaminess I've not had before. Filled with that goodness, we nonetheless opted for dessert (how could we not) and shared a molten chocolate cake with ice cream. The menu has some standard fare but with emphasis on Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine. So wishing we could return for what seemed amazing breakfast/brunch fare, we had to leave after a few days, but we were sure to sing the praises to nearby family.

Amazing

By Samuel S |

The ambiance is amazing, as is the service. When I ate the food (seafood pasta, baklava), I felt like I was having dinner in turkey. The restaurant itself is very sleek, while at the same time retaining the essence of Turkish culture. I can't wait to come back.

Wonderful place

A Meal With a View in Brooklyn, NY

By Gershwin12 |

Our positive dining experience began with a warm friendly welcome from the hostess who quickly sat us at a table for four with a refreshing breeze and delightful view of Sheepshead bay. The indoor and outdoor space is massive and offered an ambiance of joy with it's Turkish blown glass light fixtures and brightly colored motif. If you are a non-smoker, or adverse to smoke while you eat, please be aware that smoking was allowed in front of the restaurant and smoke was drifting to the out-door dining area; Or, if you are a smoker this may be a positive. I appreciate that hand washing facilities were available outside of the modern clean bathrooms. Sometimes there is no need to enter a bathroom just to cleanse my hands. Much more hygienic and certainly quicker. Hand sanitizes were also available. Thank you Opera for caring about your customers health! The menu is extensive and offers traditional Turkish breakfast, lunch and dinner items. The four of us loved the Mixed Meze Plate, large. It was an assortment of cold, creamy, scrumptious appetizers: smoked eggplant salad, yogurt dip, creamed borlotti beans, babaganush, spinach tarator, hummus and spicy mashed vegetables. Crusty bread (not pita) was given for decadent dipping. An extensive beverage list was offed with authentic Turkish coffees and teas as well as alcoholic beverages. The Opera Salad was huge, fresh and ample enough for sharing as was the chicken Chops. Chicken was nicely seasoned and tender. The rice was delicious. Service, was attentive and prices were reasonable. I look forward to dining at Opera Cafe and Lounge again. Maybe for brunch next time.

Relaxed and well executed

By c0mercial24 |

I was on a bike ride and stopped to eat at one of the picturesque sidewalk cafes that line Emmons. The only two that seemed lively were on this block. The host at Emmons place was on his phone with his back to the entrance so we decided to look further down and the one that made it happen in Opera was the hostess. She offered to explain the menu and when she noticed we were looking to park the Bikes told as that we could put them next to our table. The place is so spacious that it didn't bother anyone and gave us peace of mind. The hostess snatched us from the competition (well done).   The food was great. Portions were generous. We had the calf liver as appetizer: Deliciously nutritious and enough to be a meal. The mixed grill was recommend by our server it was delicious and so much that I almost couldn't finish. The branzzino was cooked to the right consistency and grilled right so that it was juicy. Recommended

Opera A Winner!

Great food, great service. Take your family or a date to experience the best in Turkish cuisine. Also, you can eat outside and view the boats in Sheepshead Bay as well as the locals walking around. Great eatery. Worth the trip!!

Crowded, poor service, weak kitchen

By ShashBB |

Come to experience South Brooklyn at its worst. What you get: overpriced meals prepared to unsophisticated palate and served slow and with attitude, large crowds and poor service. On my list of places to avoid.

Good Breakfast Turkish Style

By aylin p |

Good food, fast service, helpful waitstaff equals a good review we were all impressed with this restaurant however being good means very crowded and that was the only negative thing. I would come here again though it was worth the noise.

Used to be better

By Lily S |

The food is fantastic. For authentic Mediterranean food it's a great place. But they expanded into a huge restaurant from a small one and the noise level is deafening. Makes it very hard to have a conversation.

Breakfast by the water

By minniie1944 |

We met another couple for breakfast. Service was good, not great Bread was excellent. My omelette was fine. I think I would go for lunch instead, as there were many wonderful, sounding dishes I had never heard of. My friend loved her crepes. Very popular place. Try to sit outside.

Stay away, HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

By Minel V |

Today was Father’s Day. We came to this restaurant as a family to celebrate. My mother-in-law invited us, treated us, and paid the bill. After lunch, everyone left — except my husband and me. Our baby was sleeping peacefully in her stroller, so we decided to stay for a coffee. Ten minutes later, a waiter approached us and casually said that they had charged the wrong table earlier — and now they were canceling the payment made by my mother-in-law. Then came the kicker: we were told WE had to pay for the entire meal. Let’s be clear: We were guests. We were not responsible for the bill. Their mistake is NOT our problem. And yet, because of their incompetence, we were forced to pay for the entire table. No real apology. No accountability. Just a “too bad, now it’s your problem” attitude. This is hands down the most unprofessional and disrespectful experience we’ve ever had in a restaurant. We were regulars—going there several times a month. But after today, we’re done. We’ll never go back. Ever. And since you’re always begging for 5-star reviews, here’s ours: 1 star, only because 0 stars isn’t an option. YOU SUCK!!!

Meh

By Sofya D |

We were visiting New York and our relatives took us there for dinner. Location is great and outside seating is nice especially if the weather is nice. Food is however extremely overpriced. For two strips of lamb with a side salad and white rice we payed $19. And the food didn't even taste anything special.

Our first time for lunch

By donroquefort |

I must say this is a everything restaurant. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, they have it all. The service and food was very good. They have a full bar and outside seating as well. Salads, chicken wrap, very good above average. A must to try is the stuffed potato, outstanding. This one is a keeper.

Great first impression for casual dining

By SisterSage718 |

Was starting a birthday celebration week with my bestie. Have seen the commercials for Opera, plus got a good report from a trusted source. After a cruise provided a poor meal offering, we decided to give Opera a try. Sitting in the outdoor seating made you feel like you were not in NYC. We just had appetizers, but the serving staff was pleasant, the dishes that went by looked delicious, and the many waiting guests testify that Opera is a must visit. Will return soon!

Disappointing

By Lucy T |

The service and the food quality at this restaurant is going from amazing to mediocre to worse to terrible… We were waiting for a very long time for someone to take our order… No one!!! came back to add water or to ask if everything was ok… Soooo disappointed….

Dinner

By Pincas K |

We had a very tasty dinner. I had the mixed grill which was excellent and my cousin took a fish branzini which was full of bones. She didn't like to much but it was done ok. We in a all enjoyed very much.

Horrible

By L K |

Nasty food! Dumb staff! The food had no taste and was very cold and old The waiters were so dumb and tired looked like they needed a day off.

ideal place to be in a NYC summer day

By Nedelka M |

the portions are on the okay side. we have found the food tasty. the attention is impeccable. One of my favorites is the manti. however the salads need some work. In our last visit, one of the plates was Mediterranean salad and the ingredients were not precisely Mediterranean. The restaurant has a nice view. It is in a nice location. The ideal place to be in a NYC summer day. There are plenty of tables therefore no rush to leave the table once you finish your meal.

A taste of Turkey in Brooklyn!

By malev |

From friendly staff to delicious plates Opera deserves 5 stars . Cleanliness, good service and cozy atmosphere welcomes you ! Every authentic Turkish dish ordered is always delicious. You can have a taste of Turkish breakfast along with a pot of brewed tea or enjoy a lamb sauté plate custom cooked to your spicy desire . Menu also caters to light eaters with their various salads . Deserts are excellent, I highly recommend the stuffed figs with walnuts along with a cup of Turkish Coffee. Must visit this restaurant when in Brooklyn! It has a parking lot in the back and valet parking during busy evening hours .

Dinner with the friends

By VSPE |

This is relatively new restaurant in Brooklyn NY on Emmons Avenue serving Turkish food. This place was previously occupied by two restaurants. Place is new and very crowded. It is one of the best Turkish cuisine in Brooklyn. Waiters were so polite and helpful, that we felt like never leave this place on comfortable chairs. Prices are very affordable. Food was tasty and well prepared. It was three of us with the different tastes ordering different food, but all three of us were completely satisfied. Waiting on very rainy Sunday evening was around 20 minutes

Great meal

Fantastic quality and service. Definitely a tasty and enjoyable dining experience. Tonight I had dinner but I've also been here for breakfast and both were excellent.

Wonderful Food!

By SuzieQ044 |

What a wonderful treat! Hubby & I stopped in Sheepshead Bay on the way to visit family in Brooklyn. Since all the Trip Advisor (and Yelp) reviews were so good, we decided to try Opera Cafe. The food is absolutely delicious! I had the BEST chicken-ka-bobs and hubby had Lamb shank. Everything is fresh; the place (although a bit noisy). Where's the music????? Great location, terrific meal.

Nice place for family meals.

By L Tran |

This restaurant is located near the waters of Sheephead Bay, right off exit 9 on Belt Parkway. It is a nice place that is suitable for family, with good food. I especially like my grilled shrimp. The price is very reasonable.

Good place to eat at any time of the day

By bookwithus |

We have visited this cafe several times in the last few months. Finally got around to writing a review. Been here for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner. The menu is the same. This is a very large place and even larger with good weather when they have the outside sitting area. This is a turkish food place with a twist of other delicious options. The menu has numerous options. Try the humus, liver cubes, the fish. And the desert is so good. I have to take two or three. They have a good bar too, we tried a number of drinks. You can bring your own bottle of wine. They charge you $10 corkage fee. Overall, we really like it. Considering there are 3 turkish restaurants within 3-4 blocks of each other, this is now our favorite.

always good

Amazing food & service

By Dis-Ability-Girl Goes AGAIN!! |

I highly recommend this cafe. Breakfast was an omelette with feta, onions and mushrooms. It was delicious and fresh. Not at all greasy. Also the waffle served with grapes, watermelon and pineapple slices and a strawberry with whipped cream was to die for. Crisp on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, like all waffles should be. The maple syrup wasn't really needed but was nice addition. Our friend had a spicy sausage omelette and was thrilled with it. We also had desserts! The tiramisu was the best we've had, the mixed berry cake, was like a fresh mixed berry tart. Crust was delicate, with a thin custard layer to keep the whole slice moist, followed by heaping mounds of mixed berries - mostly raspberry, blackberry, and strawberries and blueberries. It was so fabulous I wanted to take the whole cake home. Our friend had the triple mouse cake, which I thought was the least perfect of the 3. The chocolate was dark and rich, contrasted with a light chocolate and white chocolate mouse. I felt as though the dark chocolate was over powering. All in all we loved this place!

A beautiful spot, across from the water...and service worth every penny

By SunbeamTraveler |

This is one of the most reasonable places I have ever eaten in Brooklyn, where they treated my husband and I like the "only guests in the place". To be fair, we were there on a slower night, but I can also say that they had two other very large groups, and still were super attentive to us! EACH and EVERY part of the meal was tastey, and they noticed that we were on a date, and escorted us to the table nearest the "in-wall fire place". They pulled out the chair for me and just generally the waiter was very attentive. It made the dinner feel very special (and still the price was exceptionally reasonable for dinner in Brooklyn--esp. being that it is located across from the canal waterway). Recommended without a doubt.

Delicious Turkish food.

By shayka79 |

I love coming here for breakfast lunch and diner. For the first timebi tried turkish beer efes wih lamb shank I was in heaven. Next week I came here with my wife for breakfast I was stunned how delicious their crapes and wafles are. If your in sheepahead bay area you must stop here.

Good Food and Service

By SuzyQu15 |

The restaurant was nicely decorated for the holidays, with many lights and a pretty Christmas tree in the entrance. We were seated right away on a Thursday evening, and the restaurant filled up rather quickly. It occupies a very large space, and is modern in decor. The menu was the usual fare featured in every Turkish restaurant, with other items such as pasta as well. The grilled shrimp kebab was very good, as was the lamb Adana kebab. Portions were generous and came with delicious rice and a small salad. Parking is on the street and can sometimes be difficult.

only stopped for appetizers and a couple drinks but enjoyed our stay. Casual indoor/outdoor seating, very friendly wait staff, and what limited dishes we had were delicious. Restaurant appeared to be quite popular. We would definitely return, prices are reasonable.

Good Food & Great Service

By Steve N |

Came here for lunch on a Friday with my mom. Hostess quickly seated us and the waiter was attentive and kept our water glasses filled. The wait & bus staff are efficient and very polite. I had the Adana Wrap with fries. It was pretty good. The menu is extensive and I would come back to try some of the other items. Parking is "on the street", so be prepared to feed the meter.

Very very nice place

Bad Service. Not So Bad Food. Nothing Special. Just Average Eatery.

Looks more like self-service eatery, because it was hard to find a hostess who usually shows you to the table. We had to wander around looking for clean and available table. Finally, found it and were waiting for waiter to bring us a menu. It took 15 minutes. Then another 20 min. for food to arrive. During our lunch, no waiter approached our table and asked usual questions pertaining to hospitality: how is your meal, or would you like anything else? Nothing! Looked like almost all waiters and their assistants were busy talking to each other (not about how to provide decent customer service), instead of paying attention to the customers. Bad service. Not so bad food, but nothing special. Average eatery!

What a experience

I've eaten at OPera several times for lunch and dinner over the years. It's a pretty refined place. The servers are very polite and fastidious, and the food appears to be very carefully prepared. I've mostly eaten fish dishes here (usually branzino and salmon), along with some Mediterranean specialities like salad, hummus, and a lamb shank. I've been quite happy with the cuisine. All my proteins are typically cooked exactly as I requested--medium rare for red meat and salmon. I really like the little touches, fresh and warmed Turkish bread, The wine selection is good too. I had a 2008 Worthy cabernet sauvignon that was just dynamite. So we had a great time.
