An Italian if you want to feel at home pampered and at ease is the right place Handmade dishes with pasta made directly from them. Moreno the owner always present and welcoming turns per.i tables putting la.faccia . Excellent.wine cellar honest prices

Everything was good. Food was amazing, they were flavorful and fresh. Everything we ordered were well prepared. Also very easy to book online. Love it!

This intimate spot in the West Village successfully pairs well prepared food with exceptional service. Our waiter managed to tend to our needs in a warm, professional, unpretentious, manner. The food, not typical Village fare has a refined Northern Italian interpretation, rather than a Southern, more rustic, red sauce menu. I took my good friend there after the theatre for his birthday, but we never felt rushed. Definitely worth a try, but bring your credit card.

Located in a splendid position in the West Village. All the delicious dishes starting with the fassona beat, the tagliatelle with ragù to continue with the braised cheek and ending with a superfine tiramisu. Attentive and never invasive service. Compliments Moreno and all his staff that have brought authentic Italian cuisine in NY

Its the closest you can get to italian food in the United states. Incredible food, incredible service, incredible wine. Recomended

The food was okay, but we were handed our coats while still seated at the table and we had not even finished our drinks. There was no one waiting for our table! I felt it was so awkward and rude. When I told the manger he just stated at me and did not say a word. NOT going back. We spent a lot of money. Bottles of wine. Apps. Dinner and desserts. So strange.

We stopped here for a Romantic dinner. We sat outside and had a delicious dinner. The spritz’s are amazing and there are a lot of different options. Our waiter was attentive and very good. Do not miss the citrus salad or their fresh pasta dishes. Exactly what we were looking for. Best to make a reservation, the place is small.

… two dinners at Osteria Carlina this week in Downtown Manhattan … simply fantastic …. Italian cuisine in USA with original taste! Wine list is excellent and quality / price ratio is absolutely fair! We will be back as soon as we travel to NYC again and we’ll recommend Osteria Carlina to our entire network of contacts. Barbara, Paolo and Pietro P.S. Grazie Moreno and team, we love U!

We had a lovely experience here maybe two years ago and wanted to try it again. It’s a cozy place with good service in general. Had a decent meal- good service from waitstaff, nice starters and ok mains - salty on one and undercooked on the other but would be fine. Opted to skip desert and asked for check. However, the couple next to us, clearly on a first or second date, were given their check with their dessert. We quickly paid and then offered them our table as the restaurant clearly wanted to turn the table over to fill out an empty deuce next to them. (In fact, the manager, when I said “give them our table” said “that’s the plan!”) on our way out, I said to the manager quietly, and I mean quietly on the side “hey they have only been here an hour and a half - maybe offer to have them move over or something kinder than dropping their check and telling them to eat dessert and move “. He made a point of following me out into the street and was clearly angry. Made a big point about the three waiting at the door. The thing is, there was an open deuce. And the cute couple were on their third course. And we had two courses and a bottle of wine. And he could have just said something in a nice way and invited someone to the bar for a drink. But he was rude. I have worked in this industry for a long time. I never write bad reviews. The restaurant was fine. He was rude. And I really hope that cute couple rallied after that!

Food was excellent but the maître d' is highly strung and seems to have studied under Basil Fawlty! A high status man who struggles to achieve status required to serve.

Ive been a few times to Osteria Carlina and it is excellent every time. Small and cozy restaurant in the west village, with delicious northern Italian (Piemontese) cuisine. had the pizza with duck prosciutto/truffle crunch and the pappardelle with short ribs, and both were outstanding. Great service. Would highly recommend.

PROS “Awesome” is the keyword Excellent food, amazing service, stunning wine list. Fantastic atmosphere and very right price. Hard to replicate the true Piemonte cousin, they did it at best Congrats, really CONS Nothing to declare

One of the best meals I’ve ever had, pastas were absolutely incredible, so delicious and rich. Everything is obviously done with care

Wonderful welcoming restaurant in the West Village. Food outstanding!! Genti A, our server was exceptional. Meals ordered-Pappardelle Venison, lasagnetta (Green Spinach homemade pasta with Duck Ragu) Tortelli Cremaschi and Pisarei. All delicious and nice sized portions. The restaurant setting is small and cozy. We will return!

The food menu inside was different to the one outside so when we got in, we quickly realised there were no veggie options. The manager (?) however did provide several good suggestions for me. When I tried to order one of his recommendations the waiter looked at a loss and the manager duly returned a few minutes later, asking me “I believe there is a problem with the menu?” No, not at all, but the waiter didn’t know what to do when I tried to order something you kindly recommended….Also, my partner has periformis syndrome and found the chairs in the covered outside area very uncomfortable (I did too but wasn’t in pain); he asked for a cushion which was duly found but in the end asked to swap chairs which did happen, but everything felt like we were making a fuss. The meal was excellent. Really good food. It just didn’t feel very friendly and welcoming which was a shame.

One of the worst dining experiences I can remember. The food was so heavy, and kind of like a bad diner. Also, the maître d’, who wore a suit was so uptight and obnoxious. I might add the food was very overpriced. Pretty nasty wines for $25. Not a very neighborhood place. They think they’re so special but they’re not. I can make better food in 10 minutes in my own kitchen.

Stupendous meal ¡¡REALLY&TRULY!! Resemblant of old world European warmth & genuine attentiveness by the server & his assistant, including Moreno Cerutti, owner, coming by the table at end of meal to chat and thank us for coming.

Intimate, warm and inviting little spot. That I really wanted to love more. No booze. Guess I should have checked first but my longed for Negroni was not happening. Service was friendly but forgot a side that didn’t come out until we were done with meal and 2 reminders. My seafood risotto was fine. Crab meat and white abborio was simple and done well, but expectations were higher. Maybe I could have ordered more smartly. Just a monochrome dish of white. Portion size for sides are not meant for sharing. Wines were good, but $$. Will give it another try. Wondering why all the high ratings.

Fixed stops in the restaurants managed by Moreno, on every holiday in New York, Italian quality par excellence, staff and service, of a superior level, what can I say, it is always a pleasure to dine Italian, in one of his restaurants in New York.

Truly, a magnificent dining experience. First of all, they were so kind and getting us in second of all our waiter, Justin, was absolutely terrific. The food was extraordinary. There was three of us. We had the fried artichokes for an appetizer and the olives, both absolutely wonderful. Our entrées were the short rib, ravioli, the hanger steak, and the Bronzino. All so good so very good and then for dessert we had the avocado and a hazelnut chocolate pie that was just extraordinary. Service food absolutely would go back

We were a party of eleven last Saturday evening to celebrate the engagement of our daughter. The staff were so accommodating and warm and the service was flawless. The atmosphere was charming with a noise level that allowed us to have conversations despite the restaurant being full. What a treat! We had a pre-planned selection of dishes from the menu that included salad, appetizers, two pasta dishes, risotto, steak and fish and a selection of three desserts. Each bite was fabulous and we all agreed it was one of the best meals we could remember having. Our waiter paired the courses with wonderful Italian wines and a sparkling one for a toast. The evening couldn’t have gone any better and I’m certain we will be talking about for months to come.

Can really recommend this restaurant. Very good service and very nice people at the place. Nice area and the service is perfect!

The reviews must be from friends and family because the food was bland, tasteless, beyond disappointing. Presentation is much better than the execution. I don’t like to write negative reviews, but these reviews are so far off reality and it’s just not right to recommend this place as a 4-5 star restaurant when the food is so bad. Oh and the wine is even worse. The wine list is outrageous. We opted for a Super Tuscan at $160 and it was horrible. We left the majority of the bottle and could t get out of there fast enough. We actually enjoyed the Stracciatella with spring peas and herbs, served with homemade focaccia. It would’ve been nice if they offered more that two tiny pieces of focaccia for all that cheese. The lasagna and fried chicken were horrible, and they were the two dishes our server was adamant on us ordering. Never again.

A little Italian (Piedmontese) NY gem. Small place, but with attention to detail and attentive and impeccable service. Tasty dishes (truly "Italian" without local twists) and well presented. What more can I say? We will definitely be back on our next trip to NY! Recommended for Italians and non-Italians...

First time here and we asked for recommendations for the Italian Piedmont region represented by Osteria Colina. Our party had the beet ravioli, meat ravioli, veal with tuna sauce, tagliatelle with rabbit ragu, faro salad, and sample of cured meats. OMG-everything was as good as you could ask for. It pays the perfect homage to this part of Italy. Not a red sauce to be found on the menu. The osso bucco and veal milanese looked equally as great as they went by to other tables. Chocolate flan and tiramisu were also fantastic. Great wine list. Brunello and Barolos by the glass-not seen very often. Just go.....and enjoy.

I went here with my girlfriend. We ordered: Mushroom soup - incredible ! Best mushroom soup I’ve ever eaten. Guys I can’t stress this enough - this was to best mushroom soup I’ve ever eaten. Crab tart - my girlfriend ordered. She loved. Pizzetta - perfectly crisped and incredible Carlina salad Lobster tortelloni Pappardelle ragu - genuinely the best I’ve had. Again I want you to understand, this is the best, I’ve ever had. The meat was the perfect texture and was absolutely packed with flavour. Tiramisu - no words. Top top tirimasu Lemon cake - also amazing Everything was genuine perfection. I have only written 2 other reviews like this. One was for a Parisian restaurant called chez marcel and one was the wedgwood in Edinburgh. My only negative about this place was that my girlfriend didn’t allow me to order more. I am in NYC for another 2 days and I am going back !! The mushroom risotto looked amazing so will get that next time. Will do a proper fat order like shamefully large order Could smash the soup 2 pastas a main and desert.
