Passed this restaurant as we were out walking today as they were setting up their outdoor dining. We stopped to look at the menu and we’re impressed with Eduardo taking the time to answer questions about the menu. We decided to make reservations for dinner. We were not disappointed. My friend and I had a big lunch so weren’t terribly hungry. We split the Mango salad and the Tortellini Toscani. Both were excellent. We ordered decaf cappuccino’s, a Crème Brûlée and a Berry tart. Very enjoyable. I noticed a white wine from Lamezia which is where the airport is located when I go to Italy. It was very good. The service from all the staff was excellent. Special kudos to Eduardo our waiter. We never felt rushed. Definitely would go back if we’re ever in this area again.

I can’t tell how many times I’ve been to this place. It’s a little Italian restaurant. Very cozy with a great service. All the atrás is very friendly, including the owners. Food is good and inexpensive. It’s in the seaport area, which is a historic charming neighborhood. I’ve been coming here for years and will definitely will keep coming for as long as they are open. I always get the Paccheri, Cacio & Pepe, and a Chiati Classico

Very close to the much updated South Street Seaport venues, this fine Osteria is a very good choice. The menu has many interesting selections and there were 3 specials for our visit. The fettuccini is homemade and light. That special dish had large shrimp. Our other choice was cavatelli with a red sauce including sausage. Both were tasty, well prepared and recommended. The wine list had a good selection of open wines by the glass (including a Falanghina which we liked) and even more fine bottled wines. The service was friendly. We enjoyed our table in the open summer air on the street corner where the Osteria is located.

Great food, great drinks, wonderful service. We've been there twice and will definitely return soon.

We had caccio e pepe in a parmesan crust bowl. The tables outside were nice and the air was clean - a refreshing change. We ended ip here because the restaurants right on the water were overpriced and touristy. Wine was pricey but it is everywhere in NYC.

Lovely cosy Italian on the south side of the island. Great service, food and atmosphere! Would 100% recommend and would visit again!

An exceptional restaurant and what can we say about the tiramisu.... an A+. The service is also A+. Very close to Pier 17 for a magical walk with a view of the Brooklyn Bridge.

We had just toured around Governors Island and the South St., Seaport area, and it was a Saturday night. The area was hopping and we checked three or four restaurants and could not get in anywhere. We decided to walk back to the subway when we came upon this restaurant which was bustling but cozy. We were shocked that they had a beautiful outdoor table for us and we ended up having a delightful evening. The service was impeccable, the food was delicious and the price is very reasonable for that area.

We found this restaurant noticing it was crowded outside dining and the meals looked great. Our waiter Leonardo, who told he was from Milan, Italy, was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive to our dining. We started out with an appetizer of fried artichokes with a parmesan cheese shell and dipping sauce (Carciofi Fritti $16.00). The shell alone was incredible. The topping is a thinly sliced lemon that was fried...never that before and was tasty. Being it was a summer night, Leonordo suggested cocktails we chose the Old Ironside $16 and Queen Mary $15 which were perfect. For dinner, we chose seafood dishes being we were in a fish market however, there are various choices on the menu to fit any appetite. Crab and homemade pasta (yes, it was real crab - Spaghettoni Grachio $27) and the Seafood Risotto, which had shrimp, calamari, mussels and scallops (Risotto Frutti di Mare $26). Both dishes were perfect, but if I had to pick one, it's the risotto, which had tremendous flavor. We finished our meal splitting a creme brulee, also done to perfection. Each table has a small LED light to adjust your own lighting, which was nice. Diners set of dinners created its own lighting mode. The dinners were a mix of all ages, couples, groups and families. Perfect dining experience for us and I highly recommend for your dining experience. It's at the corner of Front and Beekman Streets.

Great locations with outside tables in a vibrant environment. Main courses were good but nothing too special. Best dish was the tiramisu. Pricing wise a good spot to grab a quick bite.

Osteria Del Porto is a charming Italian restaurant located at the Seaport in New York City. The staff and management provided exceptional service. From the appetizers to the main course, the food was extraordinarily delicious. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, making it a worthwhile destination. On a pleasant day, consider sitting at a table outside.

If you have any type of food allergies, dietary restrictions or you just plain don’t like something, this is not the place for you. NO substitutions, changes or accommodations under ANY circumstances. Beware. Nice Latin American staff will explain restaurant policies but won’t budge. If you ask to speak to the chef, he has left for the day … but NEVER, I repeat, NEVER, under any circumstances, try to touch the lamp on your table. You will be scolded by several staff members immediately… Good luck ..

We were headed to another restaurant when we came upon Osteria Del Porto. The outdoor seating area drew us in and we went no further. After visiting Italy a few years ago we always look for an aperol spritz on the cocktail menu and this one did not disappoint!! We had the seafood risotto, sea bass and the Paccheri Pasta (homeade pasta with shortrib ragu) All were excellent! For desert we enjoyed Tiramisu and hands down the best Creme Brulee I have ever had! It was my daughter's 24th birthday, our server, Fernando brought out her tiramisu with a candle and they sang to her. Maurizio, one of the owners couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive. He stopped by and bought us a round of drinks to celebrate! We will be back!!
Excellent restaurant, great atmosphere.
Wandering around South Street Seaport looking for a restaurant, we stumbled upon this restaurant. Even for a Weds evening, it was rocking. Great food, good wine selection, excellent Negronis, smallish tables, great atmosphere, so enjoyable we returned for our last night in NYC. Would we return? Next time we're in New York it'll be our first port of call.
