Excellent welcome, small restaurant that doesn't look like much but very nice. Linguine bolognese and succulent vodka penne. I recommend it if you go through Harlem

Osteria Laura is the real deal, with amazing and authentic Italian cuisine in a classy, modern setting (chef is from Italy). The pastas are freshly made in house and perfectly cooked 'al dente'. The tagliatelle bolognese and lasagna di laura are standout entrées. And don't miss their homemade tiramisu. I believe this is the best Italian restaurant north of 96th Street.

We went here on a chilly October night and ate outside. No one was eating inside so we could have eaten inside, all alone, and been warmer! But outside was fine. We had no problem in getting a reservation, which was surprising, since this restaurant is great. I guess it just hasn't been discovered yet. We had chicken teriyaki dumplings (very good), mozzarella and prosciutto (the ham was quite good, but didn't seem to be prosciutto), and rigatoni with shrimp and zucchini (fabulous). The service was friendly and efficient. There was an OK beer list (although it would have been nice if it included an IPA), a limited wine list but we had a pretty good Pinot Noir, and a bunch of other drinks. The price was more than reasonable...our appetizers were $10@ and the pasta was $14. Total bill before tax and tip, including wine and beer, came to $84. This is a really nice restaurant with excellent food, on a very nice street. It should take off. We will certainly go back.

This place is a hidden gem. My husband and I went for dinner and loved loved it!!! Specially the pasta with shrimp. Service was fenomenal! I will come back!!

-great food -great hip hop music -people who work there are the friendliest i have met in NYC (so far) I can wholly recommend this place!

Staff is super friendly. Laura, the owner is a delight, Marco the head waiter/manager s from Roma, he comes from a family of three generation of restauranteurs. The chef is also Italian and will come out to make sure everyone is enjoying their meal.
Great new neighborhood gem
The Harlem food scene keeps developing, and I watched for months for this space to open. The lasagne made the wait worthwhile. (That can be tricky in a lot of other restaurants.) Simple decor, helpful staff, well-chosen wines by the glass. Reasonable prices so good for a weeknight drop-in or takeaway. Bar, waitstaff and Laura all welcoming. Had a weekend lunch and brought friends back for dinner twice in 2 weeks. We've been waiting for a neighborhood Italian, but the food way better than that!
