We ate here twice, once for breakfast and once for brunch. The grapefruit juice was fresh squeezed but $4 for a small glass. The almond croissant đ„ was also $4. The Dinosaur Kale salad đ„ was okay. The Patty Melt was MARVELOUS!!! We highly recommend it! Waitstaff very friendly and they have a lift for wheelchairs and baby carriages.

I was really looking forward to breakfast in the iconic Stattler Hotel ... and Overeasy didn't let me down. The staff were super friendly, the booths very comfortable, great breakfast selection on the menu and the food was delicious - The mushroom biscuits were fantastic (with a side of 2 poached eggs and some salmon). The presentation of the food was also a highlight of my visit! The only thing to be aware of is that despite the fact that there are several ways that you think you can enter the restaurant, the only way is actually through the hotel itself. I looked like a complete nutter trying to open every other door from the street!

We stayed over a couple of extra days following a business conference. Looking for a breakfast place within walking distance of our downtown hotel, we were fortunate enough to locate Overeasy. "Splendid" is the first word that comes to mind! We sat outside in the patio area. Service was quick and attentive. The juice was obviously fresh, the coffee delectable, and I would definitely return for the biscuits with mushrooms and (cheese!) gravy. The eggs were cooked exactly right for both of us. So delicious! I only wish I had had room for the deviled egg flight and the breakfast banana split. I would definitely go again.

The service was fantastic, HOWEVER the air was NOT working which presented UNACCEPTABLE CONDITIONS! for patrons and the employees. This is intolerable, especially when I traveled from out of town to patronized.

Had dinner on a Wednesday. We might have been one of about three tables. Guess with so many options better places togo. It's an all day type of menu format so very very limited on dinner options. I'd suggest going elsewhere unless you are OK with limited. (I do like the coolness of breakfast still available if I wanted) The deviled eggs need work. I love that deviled eggs are showing back up on menus everywhere, but, these aren't so great. I did have a good Muffaletta sandwich though. It ya want super simple with average service then check it out

Great place with great food. From a few seats, you can watch dogs in the dog park. So cute. The Deviled Egg flight was amazing. Great, easy, convenient place for breakfast!

Title says it all. Come early and get comfortable. Everyone was very nice but eggs shouldnât take an hour plus.

In short: Very off-putting experience, staff made it clear they did not want our business. I would not risk using this restaurant for any special events or business meetings unless the inconsistent service is addressed. I was in Dallas for some work, as well as a wedding. I was staying down the street and wanted to grab breakfast with a former client and friend. I picked Overeasy based on a recommendation from my hotel concierge. We arrived at Overeasy around noon on Sunday, we went it the door and waited for five minutes in what we thought was the wait area, despite multiple staff seeing us, we had to follow signs to realize we needed to check in at the front. We made our way to the front and again waited without acknowledgement. I waited in line behind what I thought was another customer who was talking on his personal cell phone. Suddenly he turns around and is the host, he asks for name and number, I provide a name and point to the two of us, âTwo Pleaseâ. He said you got it, about a thirty-minute wait. This was fine, there were two other groups waiting so we sat at the behind them at tables near the coffee bar and waited. The other two groups were quickly seated, we got coffees at the coffee bar while waiting. We were generally ignored as the staff gathered to loudly talk in language that is not quite appropriate for a restaurant setting. We continued to wait, a number of new guests walked in and were immediately seated. I approached the new host (blonde lady) and politely asked for the status of our reservation. Immediately I was met with a nasty attitude. She said that our name was called but we never responded. This could very well be true, but neither of us heard the call out, and being the only ones waiting it was odd we were not approached. I was very understanding, confusion happens, she said they would clear a table and we would be seated quickly. I went back to the table to inform my colleague; we waited an additional five minutes while two other groups entered and were immediately seated. Finally, we decided to just get in line for a table. The group ahead of us was shown to their table with a cheery attitude. When the hostess saw us, she loudly sighed, and pointed to a booth âthatâs your spotâ. We saw ourselves to the table feeling very unwelcomed. The hostess came to the table and began SLAMMING down additional sets of silverware. I was confused, but informed her it was just the two of us. She angrily responded saying the number written âlooks like a sevenâ. This sounds like an internal issue, but I once again tried to give her and this restaurant a final benefit of the doubt saying, âoh no, itâs just the two of usâ, allowing that this may be the reasoning that it took us so long to be seated. I literally could not finish making an excuse for their poor service, before she picked up the extra sets and ran off, leaving me mid-sentence. We waited for another five minutes getting glares from the staff. That was about all we could take, we stood to leave. I saw the hostess on the way out, I said âWe are leaving since you have made it clear we are not welcome hereâ she rolled her eyes and laughed out loud at me (in front other guests). She then pushed past me and seated a new party at our table before we were out the door. My colleague and I were in shock. Due to the nature of our careers, we often spend time in restaurants, and both agreed that we have never been so unwelcome anywhere, ever. I would caution others about dining here, the prices do not match the attitude (I would get better service at a Waffle House). I shared my experience with my hotel concierge and a number of friends in the DFW area. Amusingly, the friend of mine who got married chose the Thompson as a venue over the Statler, I think that may be a wise decision given the hospitality provided in the short time I was on their property. There are a number of great restaurants in downtown Dallas that are in desperate need for business, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT A RESTURANT THAT DOES NOT WANT YOUR BUSINESS.

Iâve been coming to Overeasy for awhile now and can say itâs one of the best breakfast Iâve had in the city. Always great service from the team especially the manager Vince and Lola!

Breakfast was pretty tasty. No complaints at all. We'd definitely return. Try the chilaquiles and add chicken it had some great flavors.

Tried this place for the first time for Sunday breakfast. It was busy but the service was good. It has a cool 50s-60s vibe. We had avocado toast, Parmesan and chive omelet, and deviled egg flight- this had a row of variants of the deviled egg. Everything was excellent. The house made sausage was also impressive. They have a pretty good cocktail list as well. It is located in the Statler Hotel.

Cold food, server didnât check back on us until we were done. They werenât that busy, now I know why. Needs better management as they are in a prime location.

We had a bowl of soup as a late afternoon snack and then breakfast the next morning. Both were well prepared, and reasonably priced. Friendly service.

Oatmeal was good and I've also had the hash. The hotel itself is worth visiting as it has lots of 1950s art and decor.

This is a review from multiple eats there. We were staying at the Statler and this was the breakfast place and we ate other meals there too because we enjoyed it so much. The egg sandwich we got was delicious and was enough for both of us. The Chicken Fried Steak was one of the best I have had, and it was enough for two, but sadly I ate the whole thing. They have some unique mixed drinks if you are adventurous, but plenty of standards too. There wasn't anything we had that we didn't enjoy. The service wasn't always on top of it, but they made up for it by being friendly and chatty and giving their opinions about some of the menu options and places to go when we asked. Lots of personality and great food! Its a win!

I stopped in for a quick bite and didn't want a huge meal. The waitress told me about the 5 way deviled eggs. I gave them a try. Holy Cow! They were amazing!!! The Woodstock drink was pretty good too.

I cannot say enough amazing things about our breakfast at Overeasy. The food was incredible, and the service was warm. We were up early enough to not have a wait, but be prepared as they do get busy! A must eat restaurant when you're staying at The Statler or visiting Dallas!

I ordered soup because it was so cold out and I wanted something hot. The soup was good but the presentation was even better. A bit high priced for what they offered but the decor and atmospheres nice.

Great customer service and a friendly environment emily and karina where great made sure my drink was never empty definitely coming back

You really canât get any better than Overeasy for breakfast/brunch. The restaurant is in the renovated Statler Hotel and the restaurant is beautiful. Then thereâs excellent service and delicious food. Very creative takes on breakfast that will satisfy your appetite. If I lived down there, Iâd want to eat there 7 days a week.

Mother-daughter breakfast here for spring break. She had 3 big fluffy pancakes which received 2 thumbs up from my 11 year old. We shared the deviled egg sampler, a must try! The green egg (I think it was chimichurri) was our favorite. The brisket hash was pretty tasty although I wish I had gone for the eggs Benedict or biscuits and gravy, because the fried okra just wasnât crispy enough with the eggs in the hash. Overall it is a great little place for breakfast and brunch with great service and atmosphere.

Prices high. Service slow. Omelette undercooked. Server was nice about exchanging for sausage gravy and biscuits.

Went for breakfast with a buddy down the street from our hotel. Place is nice however the menu is poor and the pricing was outrageous. $45 for 2 orders of omelettes.

Best breakfast in town. DEFINITELY try the short rib hash. You won't be disappointed. Only reason for giving 4/5 is due to the AC not working and being sat in an area that didn't have good air circulation. We were a bit warm....once the food came we didn't care much because it was SO DANG GOOD!

As soon as we landed at DFW we came straight to the Overeasy restaurant for their famous foods. Amanda and Jay took care of us. They did not disappoint. I highly recommend this food spot.

Overeasy came up as a recommendation from our hotel to try, it was a great cafe that did very tasteful food and was at a good price for central Dallas. There was a wide variety of choice which was great and being inside a hotel, it was clean and the staff were all very friendly. Would definitely return should I find myself in Dallas again.

We dined at Overeasy this morning and loved our food. The restaurant has a great airy vibe that made it feel open and relaxing. We ordered the brisket hash which had tasty pieces of brisket, marble potatoes, okra and tomatoes with two eggs on top and the two egg breakfast served itâs bacon, hash bombs, and biscuit instead of toast. Our server Derrick provide great service and was helpful with his dining suggestions. For breakfast, this was a solid choice!

The service was spectacular. However it was very hot! I wouldâve given a less rating but the way the staff worked in this condition was very impressive. But they should not have to!

Located in the historic Statler Hotel downtown Dallas. Had a fabulous meal and great service. Try the Chilaquiles - fabulous Tex Mex style breakfast fare.

Dinner at Overeasy was very nice. Upscale diner showcasing farm-to-table choices. Biscuits are their pride and joy. Deviled egg flight was tasty and attractive. Avocado toast was delicious. New Mexipho was different and good. Banana cream pie was a hit, too. Everyone was pleased with their choices. Waitstaff friendly and knowledgeable. Booth was roomy. Would return if visiting/staying at the Statler.

Good lattes, avocado toast, and yummy grits. A plain-dressed lady brought my latte to the table. That was kind of weird because she looked like she was a patron. Not bad for breakfast.

Ate here one night by default but turns out the highlight was the waiter. He was friendly, helpful and a pleasure to interact with. the food was average and not too terrific. Very limited menu.

Breakfast was excellent. Some of the best biscuits Iâve had. They struggled with eggs over medium. Great location. Good breakfast spot.

By far the best breakfast I had during our stay. Chicken Fried Steak with Pablano Gravy was the best item on the menu, in my opinion. Chilaquiles was the second best menu item. Coffee was excellent, and graciously poured. Staff was extremely polite and friendly. We ate here twice and were impressed by the menu and how good everything tasted. I will definitely come back next time I'm in town.

Had a good breakfast here. Prices are what you would expect in a hotel and food was good. Service was fine, but seemed understaffed.

Ate breakfast after our stay at The Statler. Food was Delicious. Better get there early because they get packed pretty fast. Omelets were good, bacon fixed to our request. Friendly and fast service. We will eat there again when back in Dallas

Excellent breakfast. The Smoked salmon gravlox was wonderful! Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

I visited alone around 9 am on a Saturday and was seated immediately at the counter. I had brewed coffee and one of the best mimosas Iâve ever had. I thought $8 was a little steep for a mimosa but then I saw it was pretty large and mostly champagne so I was happy. My entree was the honey ham biscuits with runny eggs on top. It was delicious, only complaint (if you can call it that) was there was a little more ham on the biscuit than i would prefer...so I just picked some of it off. Perfect runny egg. I was served by Gerald who was very friendly and provided very quick service. Would love to come back here sometime as there were several other menu items that interested me.

The hostess was ditzy, it was busy but the waitress never gave an update as to the status of our order. When we finally asked how much longer, she said soon. 10+ minutes later we got our food - cold! So the sausage and eggs were cold. Another server rolled her eyes at something. Very disappointing.

Visiting SMU and found this as a great spot for us all to have breakfast...loved the location and the outdoor seating spot. I wish we would have stayed in the hotel but we didn't figure that out soon enough. Super food and lovely staff. A+

I ate breakfast at Overeasy when. I stayed at Statler hotel. Venue was nice - it had a retro diner look, lots of natural light, good food. But abysmal service. The restaurant wasnât very busy- 4-5 tables, they had ample service staff but all of them seemed to be more interested in talking to each other, rather than pay attention to guests. I had to calm them repeatedly to take my order, get the check, etc. Maybe an off day for them, but not a good experience.

The chicken and biscuits! The lemon ricotta pancakes! The cappuccino! Great service, we sat at the breakfast counter (kind of set up like an old time diner) and this was the best breakfast we had on our 7 day trip to Dallas, Austin and New Orleans.

I ordered the chicken and it is so good. You can get it all day. I had it for breakfast. Also has the deviled eggs and they are really good too. The restaurant is in a hotel but has a lot of character. I would recommend it.

This place was delicious, I got the special which was a meat lover omelette and I was blown away. It was topped with a delicious salsa. We also had their pancakes and they were also delicious! The staff was very friendly

My husband and I were staying at the Statler for one night, so the next morning we ate at Overeasy before heading to the airport. We were running a little tight on time, and the service was fairly slow and lacked personality. They just wanted to take our order and get on with the day. But, the food was absolutely delicious. My husband had the avocado toast, and I had scrambled eggs and their AMAZING cheese grits. I would go back again just for the grits!

Have the deviled egg flight. Everything is amazing. The avocado toast is delicious and huge. Coffee is exceptional.

Do yourself a favor and make reservations. This is a great breakfast spot, but prepare to expect an extensive wait, however you can always order an Irish coffee to sip on while you wait for a table. Hell, why not make an experience out of your visit? But do yourself a favor and don't expect to be called to pick up your coffee when its ready, they seem to prefer to let the customer figure that out on their own. The breakfast tacos are excellent and very filling, the salsa on the side is a nice touch. Fresh fruit is definitely fresh and if you're looking for pulp free OJ, they only serve freshly squeezed, so no pulp free OJ. I love the menu and the fact they also have outdoor seating. Everything is great, minus the wait and the failure to the let the customer know when coffee orders are ready. Cheers!

Sleek interior, crisp service, nice open kitchen. Food was tasty and coffee was great. Can't recall the name of the sliced purplish potatoes we had but they were incredible.

Make sure you and your party are not starving. It was a long wait to eat for 2, imagine 4 or more people for brunch. Food was fantastic !

We ate breakfast in this great little lobby restaurant after staying at the hotel. Food was delicious and service was efficient. This is the fifth time dining there and itâs always excellent!

Ate breakfast here twice during our stay. The staff was super friendly and the vibe was fun. The eggs were great/fresh and the hash bombs were tasty! Although it had good flavor, the brisket hash was a little heavy and greasy. The avocado toast was REALLY good.

Very good place for breakfast. Sat at bar area and had eggs cooked perfectly with very nice sausage (a little dry). Service very professional. Prices reasonable.

Cool diner experience. Food is great. The staff is happy and very helpful. Prices are moderate. My wife and I like to dine for breakfast with a diner atmosphere yet very modern

Had this place on my bucket list since itâs in the recently opened Statler Hotel. We ordered biscuits, pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, mimosas and hot chocolate. Biscuit was good, save the raspberry jam (yuk)! Pancakes had very little taste, bacon was thin and so-so and sausage was cooked dry. Hot chocolate tasted like Ghirardelli dark chocolate and water. So disappointed for $50. No return visit needed!

This is a place that you can get a good breakfast. I had nothing to complain about. I guess nothing really stands out either, other than the cool old cars parked out front.

This place is constantly jam packed...and for good reason. The breakfasts are simple yet delicious, and the staff is on top of things.

We stayed at the Statler and had coffee and pastries here every morning. The service was outstanding and the coffee was excellent. We also tried several of the pastries which were fresh and delicious.

Lobby cafe at the Statler. The hash browns arenât hash browns. Itâs pretty cheap for a hotel joint. Nothing special.

The food was very HIGH ex: $6.00 for a cup of Hot Coco. But its so cold that you can not even enjoy eating. Everyone had on coats and you cant take them off unless you want to freeze !

Nothing special here. I had a very banal plate of eggs and toast. The coffee is that typical bad tasting diner coffee. The staff eventually warmed up and became friendly but they were positively unfriendly greeting me. Again, if there isnât anything else open then this place is fine but donât expect to be blown away by your dining experience.

Great place to stop for breakfast. Great food. Comfortable setting! Recommended for singles, couples and families.

We waited 30 minutes for an order of breakfast tacos and finally had to get it to go. we opened the box and there were cold eggs no beans nothing. We will definitely never go back

The Statler is an amazing hotel on a beautiful location. The restaurant was surprisingly good. The menu was interesting and offered a lot of interesting variations. The 5 Deviled eggs were outstanding. The New Mexipho was really good also. The banana creme pie was House made and superior. Weâll definitely be back!

Food and service is great, but the ac is not working well. We were sitting and sweating a lot. The coffee and mimosas were great!

Came here for breakfast whilst DH was at a conference. It has a great atmosphere, the food is great, fresh and tasty. The service was good also. The ingredients were of a great quality. The friend food was not oily or greasy, which was wonderful!
Tasty Breakfast!
The hotel lobby is beautiful and the restaurant is bright and lively. We ordered the magazine-noted grilled cheese, which was very good (but the BLT soup was kind of disappointing). My husband loved his eggs and hash brown bombs, daughters liked the biscuits and mac & cheese. My little daughter ordered the muffaleta and it was the size of her head -- way too large for anyone, let alone a kid. Don't order hot chocolate -- not good enough to merit the $6 charge. But the caramel lattes were incredible and decorated with heart-designed froth. Overall, it was a great start to our first full day in downtown Dallas.
