After several days of dining at upscale ( =$$$$ of course) all weekend, we were more than ready to go more low key, but still near our hotel in mid town Manhattan. We were not disappointed. We started with apps. I had the soup of day: chicken barley. Served steaming hot and full of flavor. Perfect for this cold winter night. Husband ordered the Philly cheese steak egg rolls. He described as crisp and very tasty. I had the Molly salad and added shrimp, which I asked to be blackened. Oh the chef definitely added some heat to that. No complaints here. Husband had the beer- battered fish and chips. Now, he is absolutely a fried fish and French fries connoisseur. I usually take a taste test as well, Holy cow! This beer battered fish was moist and tender, the batter was perfect! Not over- done, not too thick, just crunchy. Our server, Kelsey, from Ireland, is spot on and knows her stuff. If ever in midtown/ Hell’s Kitchen/ Carnegie Hall/ Central Park South area, looking for a reasonable priced local feeling pub, try P.McDaid’s Irish Pub will not disappoint!

Fabulous find, busy but always find you room. Good comprehensive menu and drinks selection with a natural Irish feel.

Great Irish pub in the heart of manhattan with a friendly atmosphere and excellent staff. Particular shout out to Brendan the bar manager who looked after my partner and I like a couple of regulars. Even to the point on my partners birthday he allowed her an hour of music to be played. Great service. Great selection of drinks, excellent live music and a place we’ll be happily returning to on our next visit. Thanks to Brendan and team for making our stay in New York even more special.

Typical Irish pub is well suited to end the evening comfortably. Day staff was friendly and the beer tasted good.

This is a great local pub for casual pub food and great beer. Don’t expect table cloths and candles. This is a traditional pub with no frills. Just great food and friendly attentive staff. Menu items such as fish and chips, bangers, cottage pie that you would expect anywhere in Ireland.

Wonderful atmosphere. Stunning food and fantastic waitstaff. We had a lovely Irish girlo who was super friendly and even had something off menu made for my 6 year old daughter. Worth the 30minutes wait to get in!!

On our way to the theatre, my wife and I stopped for brunch at P. Mcdaid's Irish Pub. The interior is a classic Irish Pub with a full bat, dark wood and tile floors. They offer many beers, cocktails and wine. We ordered a Caesar salad and the Irish eggs benedict to share. The eggs were nicely poached with Irish bacon and the salad was perfectly dressed and the portion was generous. Staff was friendly and service prompt. P. McDaid's is a good place for drinks and a meal.

Love the feel and the atmosphere. Our server had an Irish accent, which is always appealing. But the food was mediocre. Ordered the nachos and it wasn’t great. Bangers and mash were also a very poor choice. That is something you’d think an Irish pub would nail, but unfortunately not. Maybe it was a one off. I’d come back for atmosphere and a Guinness…maybe.

The best pub in nyc, the food was gorgeous and the staff we’re amazingly welcoming and so friendly we spent most nights of our trip in this pub, and when we go back we will definitely be going back to mc Daid’s, thanks so much for making us so welcome, great job guys xx

Great food drinks atmosphere staff and music (special shout out to Canadian playing the shooter cups with live music) great location

Wicked ambience and staff. Food less than disable, thankfully, the staff was on their game and my drink was never empty. So so experience

We were absolutely satisfied about this pub. The girls behind the bar were so nice to us - not business minded, but just wants to make sure that we had a great time during our lunch. The result of this did that we visited the pub several days.

Found this great bar on the last day of our holiday ! Really wish we had stumbled upon it earlier. Relaxed atmosphere, lovely welcoming staff n great beer. Thanks for your hospitality from the Scottish crew

Friendly place, attentive and friendly staff. Great beer. Definitely will be back before leaving for Italy l

As a family of 5 we went into this pub desperate for food and a drink. We were confronted at the door and asked for ID for 2 of our 3 children, aged 27, 24 and 20 before being allowed in. When we asked if they did vegetarian food we were told, laughingly, that yes you could have a salad! Despite this macho rudeness, and against my better judgement, we went in for a quick drink as we had been out sightseeing all day. I ordered 4 beers and a coke, despite the actual New York laws saying that under 21’s are allowed to consume alcohol if they’re with their parents. My wife and daughter immediately went to the toilets whilst I ordered drinks. This wasn’t good enough for the waitress who only brought 2 beers and a coke even though she knew there were 5 of us. When I asked where the other 2 beers were, for my wife and 27 year old daughter, I was told that they would only be served when she could identify who they were intended for. The waitress then seemed to hover around to ensure that the drinks were consumed by whom she had intended them for. This totally ruined the atmosphere as we don’t appreciate, as paying customers, being presumed to be liars and continually spied upon throughout our visit. It would help if this establishment actually knew the liquor laws of New York State under which it operates, as even though we abided be their incorrect interpretation and our 20 year old had a coke we were made to feel incredibly uncomfortable. We found the whole experience offensive, disrespectful, rude and unnecessarily aggressive. We, obviously, did not return.

Very busy pub however we managed to get a table without a reservation. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. Great selection of drinks and menu options. Enjoyed a good dinner here.

Food, service & atmosphere superb. Of all the places we ate in during our 5 day trip to New York, this was one of the best & most reasonably priced meals. Served by Kelsey, who went above & beyond - a great asset to the establishment. Clean & comfortable setting. Very highly recommended.

Wouldn't return - not made to feel welcome at all! New York is your oyster, with so many other options for food and drink, go elsewhere!

Food was good and service likewise. I feel quite ripped off though regarding drinks. You / I expect to pay city centre prices for draught beers but then when you’re paying those rates and then realise that your glass is a schooner (2/3rd of a pint) I think that’s just wrong. The only pint they sell is Guinness. Just greedy.

Great atmosphere, live sports, comfortable, great service, great selection of drinks and reasonably priced. Happy hour prices unbeatable

Sadly it seems to be a new york thing but such bad manners clearing plates before everyone is finished. It might be an Irish bar but unfortunately they don't have the manners of the Irish

We loved it here sat at the bar , good atmosphere, friendly staff our local whilst in NYC just around the corner from Our hotel for a stumble home

Excellent Guinness in a fantastic Irish Pub with bar tenders from Ireland! Friendly staff and a family friendly environment. Nice drink selection for beer and coctails.

Great craic and friendly staff to go with it. Good selection of food in a clean environment. A pint of Guinness to die for.

We stopped by here as it was near to our hotel and it was a very rainy night. Atmosphere was great! Food was great too! Very pricey for what we got but that’s anywhere in NYC!

I walk by McDaid’s frequently and was immediately drawn to its inviting facade and impressive Christmas decorations inside. We finally made it down for a meal, and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed my Guinness cocktail, which had both beer and Prosecco mixed in. Interesting combination, though I have to say it was quite tasty. We started with the curry cheese fries which were top notch, and I loved my full Irish breakfast. It was a lot of food and very filling, so I got to take some food home for leftovers. Definitely a good place to go for hearty food.

Old school Irish bar, it was a bit tired & the service was slow once the bar maid eventually showed her face. Drink selection typically Irish bar which was ok, food didn’t look appealing so didn’t stay long. Very drab atmosphere

This is a cosy pub full of atmosphere. The staff are great. It really feels like a home away from home. Jimmy is a top bar man. And the Guinness is the best I've had this side of the Atlantic.

We came to P. Mcdaids most nights of our week long visit to NYC. Loved every minute, The food is delicious..the staff in P.McDaids were amazing. Gilberto, Iron, Kelsey and Hilda thank you all so much for everything. Better not forget Fionn for the pints and Derek for the entertainment. See you when we come back.

In downtown New York, screen sports, beer and guiness Also long glass and cocktails. Typical pub food

Visited New York with my mother for her first time and while staying close by we discovered P. McDaid’s and we’re not disappointed. Firstly it’s lovely to see an Irish bar with plenty of Irish decoration. Secondly the staff are what make the place. All were fantastic and so welcoming, especially Kelsey, Jackie, Stacy, Tracy and Paul. They could not do enough for us. We were able to tailor our food to exactly how we like it with a portion that suited us. We visited every day of our trip for food and drinks after busy days sightseeing before going back to our hotel, so was lovely they welcomed us back each day. Saturday and Sunday had brilliant live music which really got the bar going. We will definitely be back again!

OMG! what a jewel! Landed on the 1st January and after a find your bearing walk around the neighborhood, found this lovely pub! If you're in New York and find yourself on 7th Ave please go and visit. My husband said it's the best pint of Guiness he's had outside of Dublin and the hangover I suffered is testament to the hospitality of this pub. The staff and customers were so friendly which resulted in us visiting most evenings.

One of my chief drinking buddies is from Buncrana and told us to check out McDaids on 7th Av as the owner is from that part of Donegal and recommends it to his friends. My wife has been twice before (better travelled than me) and loved it so I had to check it out…. It was the day of the NY Marathon and there were lots of runners and supporters knocking about and there was a bit of a wait in the bar which wasn’t a challenge for me at all… 20 minutes max and we were led to a table and the staff were super efficient in tending to us and taking our order. We always have one big meal when away and this was it so pushed the boat out and had two starters in Nachos and the BBQ Wings, both excellent… we followed that up with the fish and chips and the 12oz Steak, chips and absolutely gorgeous pepper sauce (I had to have a second boat..) Washed down with two great pints of Guinness and two Gin and lemonades, absolutely beautiful meal… Thanks Eunan….

a brilliant Irish Bar, spent the Sunday night of Thanksgiving here, had dinner and drinks, enjoyed the live music, bar and restaurant staff excellent. Food was great and very reasonable. There was a brilliant mix of clients in the bar, couples, families, friends. Best Irish bar we ever visited in NYC, we'll definitely be back.

A little pricey, but it is on 7th Ave, so to be expected to a certain extent. Good pint of Guinness and a good busy atmosphere.

We found P McDaid's because it was across the street from our hotel. We initially went in for drinks and were served by a very nice Irish guy. Some guests sitting next to us were raving about the food, so we decided to stop in for lunch the next day (Thanksgiving). It was a little busy but the service was great and the food top-notch. I had the fish and chips, which were excellent and obviously made fresh. Highly recommend for a meal or if you are stopping off for a pint.

We really enjoyed both the food and the service at this pub. Staff were courteous and friendly and happy to recommend the gunpowder gin - great recommendation. The burgers were cooked exactly as we asked and we couldn’t fault them. The menu was limited but there was still a reasonable choice of food. Really nice buzzing pub atmosphere. Shame it was our last evening in New York as we would have gone again.

I have been here 100 times easily as I work around the corner but there is a bartender that works here once a week. An older woman with black hair that decided to act very rude and condescending towards me. It ruined every experience I’ve had thus far. I see 3 weeks ago a similar response was made. As someone that has frequented this establishment for over 3 years and has nothing but positive things to say but to hire someone or take on someone that clearly has issues with the general public then please reconsider because it ruins the general experience for people that frequent this bar.

Great little place we found on our last day which is ashame we probably would have went again! Good atmosphere and staff friendly. We had beef nachos which were good!

A nice place, even with Christmas decorations, with good cuisine of Irish dishes, in particular hamburgers and fish and chips. The choice of beers is also good. Fast and courteous service.

Came in for some dinner. Bar was very noisy with people and background music. Food average if not slightly expensive. Didn’t stay long.

Went here because we have a McDaid’s Pub in Melbourne Australia and we like that one. The New York version was almost as good. Mrs had the buffalo wings and I had the McDaid burger. Both were very good. Service was excellent. Prices were typical of New York City near Times Square. Would definitely go again if visiting New York.

Excellent food and service. Spent 2 nights in NYC and went here both nights and then for breakfast too. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking a nice bar for food or even just for drinks

Nice place to stop for a beer and a bite after a show. Decent food with slow service but we weren’t in a rush. Beer was cold and food was well prepared. Nice vibe with plenty of TV’s to watch a game.

This is a fab bar - warm and welcoming. And when you're a complete idiot and knock your glass over the staff are quick to replace it.

This pub is conveniently located on 7th Avenue. It's fairly small, and can get crowded, however the service was fast, the food was good and the atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed a good Bangers and Mash dinner, seasoned perfectly. We'd go back here again.

Ate here tonight after walking past several times while staying around the corner, it happened to be our last meal in NYC before flying home to London. We wanted a nice easy place which served a good selection of food, we chose to start with some BBQ wings and some chicken tenders, the wings arrived but they were not BBQ, the waitress was right by us and said she would change immediately, which she did, they arrived and they happened to be nice, however the chicken tenders were not what we expected, instead of a nice seasoning and usually crispy with fresh chicken inside we were served several mini filets, with almost a greasy batter, they honey mustard sauce was not nice at all, I asked the waitress for some BBQ sauce which again she quickly got, my husband ordered shepherds pie, he ate 60% of it but compared it to a plane meal! Shepherds pie should have a nice crispy potato topping instead it just had some herbs sprinkled over. I ordered a Caesar salad which sadly was rather limp, I ate about 30% of it, we literally asked for the Bill and left. The waitress was lovely, however the food really was a let down, but we have to be up at 5am off to JFK and we did not want to make a fuss.. We went and got an ice cream to get rid of the greasy taste from the chicken tenders! They really were awful!
Great pub!
I arrived ahead of my friends, and found this place to dine alone at the bar. I was treated like a friend, and had great drinks and Shepherds Pie. You see a lot sitting at the bar, and I saw top-notch staff, food, and drinks all night. You can count on this place!
