Do Not Go to PS Kitchen

By Julia Vitullo-Martin |

This was once a small, charming Times Square restaurant with excellent food. Hard to know what it is now because we never got our food--nor did many others. The group before us had waited two hours before they asked for the manager--who refused to appear. About 10 minutes later they finally got their food. We waited an hour and demanded a refund--the manager showed for us either. Not sure what's going on but this restaurant is in severe decline.

Miracle on 48th Street

By lbloom616 |

The "Vegan Renaissance" in New York City continues to be a boon and a delight for this 30-year vegan, and right at the heart of it -- and right in the heart of the Theater District -- is this superb plant-based restaurant. We were able to enjoy a relaxed dinner and then simply walk across the street to our show, but this was a dinner that would have been memorable anywhere. A beautiful building, fantastic staff and amazing, creative, delicious food, all of which is non-profit and dedicated to urgent, important causes. The venerable Blossom flagship finally has a worthy rival in Manhattan. As good as it gets!

Vegan restaurant with a conscience that matches its excellent food and ambience.

By DarrenCSwift |

PS Kitchen, if you didn’t know is a vegan restaurant with a conscience giving back to NY through their profits. Greeted warmly when we arrived at 5.30 the room was quite but more people came in as the evening progressed. Service was exceptional and the food was divine. I had the chilli loaded fries which was a substantial portion size served in an oversized bowl. My wife had the chicken pot pie. Both meals were outstanding. The pastry on the pie was sublime and the flavours through the chilli and fries was delicious. Even if you aren’t vegan give this place a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Food was just ok , cocktail not good at all

By Alva116 |

My husband and I ate at this restaurant tonight . Unfortunately we were not too impressed with the food. I’ve tried a lot of different vegan restaurants in Europe and the US and this was just ok. I think “easy” things like a good salad dressing should be a must for any restaurant. Why eat out if you can cook way better at home. That’s how we felt unfortunately. I also an Aperol Spritz and it was the worst I ever had. If you offer a cocktail on your menu you need to know how to make it .

If you're a vegetarian/vegan in Times Square--this one's for you.

By Patty C |

There is not much in the way of vegan options in the craziness of Times Square. Was glad to find this lovely little oasis in the midst of it all. Delicious vegan food (try the buffalo mushrooms and the ganache for dessert was amazing) and a little calm before the theater. Got seated even before our reservation, had a great meal and was out well before curtain time for Hamilton. The server was so attentive and nice, liked the atmosphere, and was glad to be able to eat something non-junky and refined. We'll be back!

A Pleasant Vegan Experience

By Shirley M |

We ate here on our second night in NYC. Both my daughter and I enjoy vegan dishes, although we are not strictly vegan. I tried the burrito bowl (which was gluten-free as well) and my daughter had their famous "chicken" pot pie. Both were delicious! The staff were attentive and helpful as we chose our meals. A great little restaurant in the theatre district!

Wonderful Vegan Experience!

By Dorianne C |

I was in NYC for business in the Theatre District, and found this wonderful vegan restaurant. I ate at the bar, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, the service, and the scene. It was such a good experience that I returned another night later in the week with my daughter who lives in NJ. The service was really friendly and attentive. I also appreciate that 100% of their profits are donated to organizations that help others (right now it's to Share Hope).

A pleasant surprise!

By Megan B |

So good we visited twice. Once for dinner before a show and once for dessert and drinks. Feels very much removed from the insane Times Square vibe as it is technically in Hells Kitchen. But a pleasant walk to the theaters and to our hotel. Delicious drinks and food!

Delicious!

By HeyMishB |

We had a group or 5 including 2 kids. We all thoroughly enjoyed their meals! I had the BBQ seitan sandwich and everyone agreed it was amazing! The staff were fantastic! We will definitely be back when we visit NYC again

Great Vegan food, and that’s coming from a non-Vegan!

By TravFoodDrin |

I can’t say enough about this place. Honestly would like to give it 6 stars! I’m 100% NOT vegan, but my wife is, so we have to find places to go to make us both happy. I went here reluctantly and it turned out to be one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to in the city!

Cute spot in the theatre district!

By Bonnie D |

Great little spot with good service and lots of vegetarian options. Had the Blue Cheese Burger. Has gender inclusive washrooms.

Love that vegan pie crust!

By Michael Mike P |

Love everything I've tried, 6 visits and counting. My only complaint is that I can't take-out the Chicken Pot Pie which is my Favorite. I wanted to order six for a dinner party at home, but it's only available at the restaurant. Try it; delicious!!

Terrific and inventive

By carynctraveler21 |

Really delightful little vegan place a few blocks from Times Square. We stumbled on it one afternoon, and have been back twice more. Everything is excellent, but in particular try the Greek Goddess salad, or the Honeynut Squash or Chickpea sandwiches.

Great food, excellent service

By IronV8 |

We had the Thai "Chicken", Beet Salad and Maitake Wings. They were all VERY good. The ambience is good as well. Definitely going back there!

We googled "vegan food in nyc" and that's how we ended up here

By Rose J. |

I've tasted one of the burgers, the lasagna and the Caesar salad. The dressing is amazing and I've discovered I actually like capers. Regarding the burger,I didn't really like it but I'm usually not a big fan of the Beyond Meat. I had two take-aways and I've waited for 10/15 minutes, I was offered some water and a seat at the bar. A little bit pricy but this is really (really) good food and all the profits go to charity. I highly recommend! If my holidays weren't coming to an end, I would have tasted the whole menu.

What a gem!

By Michael A |

It's difficult to put into words just how great this place is. From the atmosphere, to the staff, to the incredible vegan food...everything combines for a great dining experience. Even the staunchest carnivore can find a great meal on the menu, and leave feeling satisfied. Highly recommended for pre-theatre dinner.

Amazing! Best burger I have ever had

By Cosmopolitan746781 |

I live in the UK and i was very nervous about finding places to eat in nyc as i am vegan. I found this place on happy cow, its just off Times Square and what a little gem. The Staff are so welcoming and friendly and I can honestly say I had the best burger i have ever had. Its definitely a must if you are in NYC.

Vegan food at its best

By GrandmaJackie1964 |

If you didn't know it was there you'd easily walk right on past this gem of a restaurant. We went in on a very cold, windy evening and it was busy but we managed to get the last available table. The service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious. I love that there is so much good vegan food available now and this is definitely one to add to the list if that's what you're looking for.

Excellent brunch

By Vf12345 |

We tried several vegan restaurants on our family’s visit to NYC and this was everyone’s favorite. Expensive but worth the price. We loved the French toast, tofu Florentine, bbq burger. The biscuits and gravy was the only dish that was just ok.

Food is good but not as good

By AWright |

Food is good but not as good as the review score would suggest. Portions sizes are perfect but desserts were humongous in comparison to the mains! The apple cobbler wasn’t very sweet but the ice cream is remarkable, so much nicer than any vegan ice cream I’ve tried. The reason for my lower review score is largely the ambience of the place - it’s very rushed and cramped, you can’t hear much and people seem to be constantly stomping through the place - not that we could work out why. The service wasn’t very personal at all and we were offered the dessert menu before the main was even finished. Overall this is a great vegan spot but definitely not as good as the ‘top 100 in New York’ score would suggest.

Delicious vegetarian

By NYCMike96 |

I am not sure I have ever typed those two words in the same phrase before. Socially conscious, employing under served populations and managing to make really delicious food. Quite an accomplishment.

Vegan Heaven

By meganshead |

We went to this restaurant because I am a vegan, even though my friends are not. The carnivore among us was skeptical. And even he was impressed by the unbelievable taste sensations of each meal. I had the 'chicken' wings - highly spiced and sauced seitan strips served with a blue 'cheese' sauce and potato salad. Unbelievable. My friend had the 'chicken' pot pie which was hearty and yummy. Burgers, bao buns, you name it. The food was utterly, totally spectacular and I get hungry just thinking about it.

Vegan food that doesn’t taste vegan

By Kristen C |

Wow! Absolutely amazing. My husband and two daughters (pretty strict vegan) and I (pescatarian) had the best meal ever! Even my husband had a bbq burger (beyond meat) and didn’t leave one bite. The creamy Alfredo risotto was to die for and my kids who don’t like mushrooms ate the “buffalo wings” so fast we had to get a second order and only then did we tell them they were made of mushrooms and the second order was gone again. Love the fact that this place not only makes amazing food but they donate profits to charity. Wish we lived closer, I would be here all the time! They make being vegan easy with great flavor.

perfect for broadway..Practically perfect in every way

By Dave W |

Unbelievable flavour and service. we have travelled and eaten at many fine restaurants and this is one of the best. buffalo wings were fabulous! a must try. great atmosphere and excellent beers and wine to try lead to a perfect evening.

The Food of Vegan Dreams

By AVeganVisit |

I have visited PS Kitchen twice now and both times it’s been incredible. The menu is relatively small but everything that I’ve tried has been a 10/10. Their truffle fries are to die for! They serve a range of burgers using Beyond Meat; the BBQ burger is particularly delicious. The brownie for dessert was glorious and the apple pie also very tasty. The service is friendly and attentive. Not only is PS Kitchen one of the best vegan restaurants I have visited, they also donate all of their profits to charity. If you’re in the area you’d be mad to miss this restaurant, whether you’re vegan or not!

Fantastic Vegan

By JLOTheBookGirl |

I think I've eaten at PS 7 or 8 times since 2019. I'll keep going back. Make sure to start with a cocktail. There isn't a bad choice on the menu. The entree sizes vary, so be sure to ask if you are looking for a smaller plate. Make sure to save room for dessert. I haven't had a bad one and they are delicious. Finally, finish with a nice warm golden milk latte. Once Broadway comes back you'll need a reservation. Right now it's pretty easy to snag a table. Treat yourself and help this place stay strong. This was the last place I ate a meal before the 2020 pandemic shutdowns. They were nearly empty. They did so much during the pandemic to help the community. And I loved bumping into their team giving our sliders on 9th Avenue at lunchtime last year!

Very Poor, where did this restaurant go wrong?

By Sharonfv |

I’ve eaten in the majority of vegan/vegetarian restaurants in New York and you can’t really fault most of them but this one was an absolute waste of $120! Yes $120 for two people, two courses and two glasses of wine of rubbish. Luckily wine was fine but we started with vegan buffalo wings and artichoke hearts, both deep fried. Four small pieces of each came on their own huge white plate with a tiny container if sauce. The wings were so chilli that you couldn’t taste anything else and the artichokes were so fried you couldn’t taste them either. I had a burger in a bun with chips, it was slightly warm, greasy, and totally uninspiring, my friend had a lasagna which looked like it was straight from the freezer, over cooked soggy pasta, thick processed tomato sauce and a few leaves on the side. Neither of us finished our meal. Terrible, absolutely awful. So what if profits go to charity, I still want good food for my money!

Expensive and ordinary food

By Lisasimpson81 |

We love to support and eat at vegetarian friendly places. This restaurant was well reviewed and convenient after the Broadway show. But the whole experience was not good. Not worth our going back. Choices are extremely limited. So you don’t choose from a big spread. We ordered 2 soups. Raw onion slices were placed in the soup place along with a thin slice of avocado and some lime. The waiter brought soup in a mini jug. Poured in one and the second, when he poured was much less!! Instead of bringing more- he just left. Any way we just had that. I had seen on many Food Shows that raw onion is a big No. it was Ok. Lasagna - was served with some tastelessly served leaves. So a square lasagna was cut out from some main dish. Was barely warm and inside had not much cooked of pasta layer. We were hungry and not even enjoying the meal. So instead of ordering more (throwing good money after bad) we decided to come home and had some left overs. We admired the fact that it serves vegetarian - vegan dishes in busy theatre district- NYC. Place was full and was very clean and tidy. But didn’t enjoy the experience. Sadly, a place we wanted to visit frequently has to be abandoned.

Amazing.

By Amy Campbell |

As a vegetarian from the South, it's hard to go out and order food that people actually understand. I was so excited to sit down, look at the menu, and be able to order to anything without having to modify it. We got the burrito, the orzo, and the cherry custard cake dessert. I'm so sad that I don't live closer.

Wonderful Experience, Great Food

By Cocoloves2travel |

This little gem is off the beaten path and well worth seeking out. I heard about this restaurant from a comment on a vegan foodie I follow on Instagram. The atmosphere is quaint and relaxing. Our server was sweet and attentive. The food is yummy and worth the price. According to what I read, all profits go to support local charities. I asked our server and she confirmed that the owner donates the profits. I’ve never heard of a philanthropic restaurant. So cool! Eating great food and helping others at the same time.

Love this place!

By DallasDachshundLover |

This was our third time eating at P.S. Kitchen. Each experience has been wonderful. The food is amazing and the drinks are pretty darn good too! What tops it off is that the restaurant is non-profit, donating 100% of profits to sustainable charitable work locally and overseas. They hire employees who are marginalized in New York, such as clients of their partnering organizations. Make sure you have a reservation to ensure you get a seat for dinner! Try the PS burger or the Lasagna. Both are just the best!

Extraordinary dinner before theatre

By Noblefilm |

One of the best meals I've ever had. Amazing. Tasty. Beautiful. Delicious. Love the place, the food and the service. All amazing!

Great Location- Ok Food- Great ambiance

By andeegoofy |

I chose this spot simply because it was the closest to my Broadway show that night, and the best reviews. We were not disappointed. We are meat eaters, and this menu still pleased us with their Vegan choices. The food was clean, fresh and came out timely. The staff didn't hover, but were easy to waive down. The setting is very farmhouse cute, almost like an updated Serendiptiy3. My 16 year old daughter and I were very comfortable eating there alone, and the food was yummy.

Delicious!

By Siobhan G |

We stopped in at PS Kitchen and were happy to be squeezed in upstairs (definetly recommend making a booking!) for dinner. We were delighted with the very attentive service, and excellent recommendations! Can’t recommend the Buffalo Maitake Wings enough, they were insanely good!

Great food, Great vibe, Great Cause

By Gina N |

We were a party of five with both vegan and non vegan members. From the service to the food our experience was simply wonderful. Our table wasn’t ready when we arrived a bit early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and had a drink. The bartender was excellent. When our table was ready, water was poured and our waiter explained the menu and also asked about allergies which we had a few. We ordered the “wings” and artichokes. They were delicious. Our entrees were 3 PB Burgers, the orzo and stuffed peppers. All were outstanding and cooked to perfection. Rounding out the evening we ended the night with the cacao dessert and brownie sundae which were a delight. Every staff member who took care of our table was extraordinary and made sure to answer any questions we had. The ambiance was chill and the space was really relaxed for nyc which will make us keep coming back! Aside from finding a great vegan place in the city, the mission is unique and admired which is another great reason to visit and grab an excellent meal here! Keep doing what you are doing PS Kitchen!! See you soon!

Beautifully romantic

By Abigail B |

We loved this restaurant and it was perfect for a romantic meal. I loved having the option of a 'normal sized' meal and a smaller plate. The service was great and food was out of this world. Loved it

Great food, lovely staff

By Geek24 |

Great little restaurant/bar. We had a burger and a lasagna, with a bottle of recommended fizz. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely return. :)

Outstanding

By Themadones |

Simply outstanding food . Vegan as well , but the point here is the quality of the food on offer . Lovely atmosphere and cosy too . We really loved it . Profits go to charity ... win win for all

The best VEGAN Restaurant ever!

By Catriney |

I love this restaurant. The food is obviously amazing and the best Vegan food I have ever tasted. But the service and atmosphere are magical. Luna was our bartender and she was welcoming and professional. But treated us like she knew us forever. You must try a drink with the vegan whipped cream. Hard to believe it does not contain real cream. The bar is darling and the staff makes you feel welcome immediately. I look forward to our next NYC trip to see Luna and the Staff at P.S. Kitchen.

Delicious and terrific service!

By Phyllis M |

Hubby and I went to PS Kitchen after our show last night. We had to catch a train back to NJ so I didn't want to dillydally. Service was fast and we had no issues. I had been there before and knew that the food was yummy! It is a fully vegan restaurant. Our waitress described the options. After hearing the description of the ravioli in white bean sauce, with asparagus and tomatoes, I was in. No disappointment here. It was delicious! Hubby got the "chicken" pot pie along with sweet potato fries. He enjoyed it. I can attest to the flavor of the fries - one of my favorite foods :).

Keep walking, don’t eat here

By NJ_Familee |

We ordered one Thai chicken sandwich on a pretzel bun and one beyond burger. We asked our waitress for no onions on the burger, and it came out with onions. The chicken was served to me luke warm, cold really. I had a stomach ache for two days after eating here. The waitress asked me and my son if we would like fries with our sandwiches. We both said yes, not realizing that each would cost 7.00 more per order, on top of the ridiculously priced burgers. They were small. Basically think fast-food, but ONLY the hamburger size portion with no fries or drink for 17.00. Outrageous even for nyc. I felt like I was robbed, and wished we didn’t make reservations here. Please avoid this place, do yourself that favor. I didn’t complain because we had no time, but I should have. It was terrible. Our waitress didn’t look to refill our water.

Superb dinner

By Giuseppe S |

Warm and quiet vegan restaurant. Easy to book a table on line. Exquisite cesar salad and unbelievable vegan burger. Never had a vegan burger so delicious made with black peas. It looked like a real one! A bit expensive but the quality is priceless.

Better than beef

By mccrhodes |

I had a bbq veggie burger here. I also did the $2 upgrade to truffle fries. Honestly, I cannot believe how good it was. Savory and smart. Well presented in a nice environment. They said everything was plant based - including the cheese. You will not leave hungry and you won't have the sagging feeling you get after eating meat. (Don't get me wrong, I love burgers but there is always a let down afterwards and this didn't have it.) Highly recommended. I wish there were more of these.

A gem

By Ricci182 |

Wonderful vegan food and equally good cocktails in a cosy venue. Friendly staff. The beyond burger is unbelievably good.

Disappointed first and last time customer

By Brandon S |

My wife and I were in Manhattan to see some shows, and we visited to have dinner with a vegan friend of ours who lives in Manhattan. Neither my wife nor myself are vegan, but to make our friend comfortable we gave it a shot. The restaurant, which touts its social mission in the opening introduction, is extremely expensive, even by NYC standards. My wife and I have been coming to Manhattan for a decade for vacations and Broadway shows, so I am aware of the inflated prices in local restaurants, but this was shocking. For example, the Caesar salad was $20. It's literally lettuce, croutons, and dressing. Nevertheless, we ordered their "chicken wings" made from mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were very good. While the expensive appetizer only came with four "wings," I was pleasantly surprised and excited about how the dinner would be. On the menu it said you could add chicken to your salad, I thought that was odd for a vegan restaurant, but I gave it a chance. I asked the waiter if it was actually chicken, and his response was a vague, "you can add protein to the salad." I was disappointed that it wasn't actually chicken, but I blame myself for not understanding the menu better. What frustrated me more than my mistake was that I asked twice, two different waiters, for extra dressing, and neither brought it to me. One chose to stand over and talk to two men who were apparently friends of his instead of going to get the dressing. Then, someone decided to smoke weed in the bathroom, which we were seated near. I understand Manhattan has a liberal lean, but no restaurant should allow something like that to occur. The smell filled the entire restaurant, and it was completely ignored by anyone who could have knocked on the door and asked them to stop. It was either coming from the bathroom, or the kitchen, and I'm not sure which I want it to be. Then, after we paid the more than $100 dinner bill, we were asked to leave the table by the manager because people were waiting for the table. There were other open tables, but the fact was the person waiting was a celebrity and they wanted to make him happy. It was completely disappointing. If we had been sitting there for an hour after paying the bill I could understand, but it hadn't even been ten minutes. I highly doubted I would ever return again anyway just because I like to eat meat, and live in another city, but I certainly won't now after being asked to leave from the management. I hope they treat other customers better.

Wonderful!

By upstatenyker |

Although we’re not vegan, we were interested in a restaurant that served a light dinner. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice. The service was great and the food was delicious. One of our party chose the pot pie, another the Green Goddess Salad (kale, arugula, almonds, apples and grapes) and I chose the Caesar Salad. Everyone raved about their meal and we topped it off by sharing the Apple Cobbler. Highly recommended!

Call before you go.

Call before you go. Kitchen was closed from 3:45 pm until 5 pm today. Have actually heard the food is great, but didn’t want to wait 75 minutes.

Lunch before a show

By spartigus15 |

Was in the city decide to grab lunch with my aunt. Found a place in midtown that was perfect in location for both of us. Plus I decided to try a vegetarian place because my aunt is one and we never go to a restaurant for her. I was delighted by the space it was nice everyone was polite. I had to wait so I got to chat up Rudy the bartender he was engaging. My aunt finally arrived we split some plates and they were good. I love meat so I was hesitant about this choice but I was pleasantly surprised. I joked with Corrin the manager told her the food was terrible as I showed her a cleaned plate. Something I like to do to show my appreciation a little joke a little laughter. But what really intrigued on top of just have a great meal and experience was the place has a mission and it supports real issues. I'm a sucker for people with a purpose and a cause. Over a plus experience special thanks to Rudy and Corrin for making the time enjoyable.

Nice vegan restaurant

By Cantaber |

Nice vegan restaurant with lots of choice. Meat replacement is mainly based on beyond meat. The planted chicken (to Ceasar’s Salad) was a bit too dry for me.

Best meal in New York!

By Lucy_LouBrighton |

A lovely little restaurant with a great atmosphere. The staff were all really polite and welcoming and the service was excellent. This is by far the best meal we have eaten in New York. I had the lasagne, my daughter had the burger and fries and we shared a cacao mousse pie. The flavours were delicious and the portion sizes were perfect. Great value for money. Highly recommended!

A vegan restaurant with a great cause

By Mike C |

Cool Egan place with great service. Plus 100% of the profits are donated to local charities. For that reason only, I suggest you check it out. The weakest past of the experience was the food. I was disappointed that they tried to recreate meat based dishes rather than vegetable forward dishes. They use impossible and beyond branded meat substitutes. And they make a soy based chicken that was OK on its own, but a far cry from chicken. My suggestion, move away from recreating meat dishes and embrace the vegan.

Awesome little place

By VrajaV |

We found this little place and it was awesome to have vegan food. Quaint little place and very friendly people

Un vegano in rosa

By Dona A |

At the entrance a pink light welcomes the guests. Personnel young and nice. Limited selection of really accurate and creative plates. Food really tasty and healthy.

Absolutely Increíble

By Lorie-Lanie S |

WOW! In Manhattan, Times Square for 3 days and we visited this restaurant twice! This is hands down the most incredible vegan restaurant in New York! I had the PS burger and the BBQ burger and I didn’t want it to end! We weren’t sure which dessert to order, so we ordered 3, the brownie and apple crumble... immense! And our waiter Jake was fun, engaging and friendly. Thank you 🙏🏼

A "Crabby" Surprise

By Emwh |

The "crabby cakes" were BETTER than real crab cakes and I cannot even believe I just wrote that because crab cakes are in my top ten favorite foods! Everyone in our party of 8 had a fabulous pre-theater meal; the pasta, the salads, wraps, sandwiches...and the varieties of lemonade were soooo interesting: butterfly and pickle! Dining here felt a little bit like falling in love. I'm serious!

Wonderful plant based meal

By Sally S |

Wonderful plant based meal and convenient location to the theatre’s. We enjoyed the lasagna and mixed drinks very much. Make sure to get a reservation - this place fills up for dinner.

Fantastic food and atmosphere

By Peter T |

Awesome vegan restaurant with such a great ethos. The food was fantastic, especially the wings. The staff were lovely and there's a great friendly atmosphere in the place. I'll certainly be back next time I'm in the city.

Dont miss PS kitchen

By Pompey_Sunseekers |

Visited this lovely little plant based eatery in amongst the Hell’s Kitchen area of New York and the food was certainly devilishly good. It’s like a little piece of heaven. Lovely friendly service. We went for the famous Maitake wings and they were absolutely to die for. The lasagne was so soft and light, the ricotta filling just beautiful. And the golden beet salad with extra crispy chicken was awesome. The dishes are a really good size too! Will definitely return!

THOSE CAULI WINGS 👌🏻👌🏻

By Stuart C |

THOSE CAULI WINGS 👌🏻👌🏻 seriously amazing! This place is the best meal we’ve had in NYC. We need one of these in London/ Cambridge please 🙏🏻

Solo day night

By Adam H |

Really nice menu and great service. I sat at the bar and ordered the tomato based linguine dish. Perfect for a bite to eat before seeing a show nearby. Great team of people making sure I had all I needed.

Delicious!

By Dawn A |

We ate at the bar, and TC, our bartender, took great care of us and our fellow patrons. Delicious Brussels, faux chix salad, and Beyond Burger. My mezcal & lime was so tasty that I had to have two. PS Kitchen has a wonderful, warm atmosphere! We highly recommend to all vegans and meat eaters.

Great place

By Monri |

Highly recommend this place, friendly staff, delicious food! Ambiance is great here, clean restaurant and restrooms.

Great food and service, oh and btw they are vegan. Who knew.

By mikeyhand |

I did. We went here because they are plant based and then to find out the profits go to charity was a plus. Lasagna and mushrooo buffalo wings (spicy). Apple crumble was great. I would go to again and again. Nice place to know about. If you are not vegan - go and try delicious real food.

Fantastic little vegan place, great food, team and atmosphere

By Damian H |

Arrived in the city from the UK and searched for vegan places nearby, walked in and it was really busy but they found me a seat inside within 5 minutes. I ordered a pot pie which arrived really fast and was utterly delicious. The food really looks and is amazing, the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the team there are really nice, pleasant and professional. I loved it, I will be going back sometime for sure. Oh, and all the profits go to charity, it’s fully vegan, what’s not to like.

Lovely little vegan Cafe

By Winnie S |

Wow, had we the time I would have eaten here every day of our week trip. The food was awesome. The concept of the cafe amazing. Staff lovely. Even my carni hubby enjoyed his burger.

Chicken Wings....WOW

By Marc D |

This is a great vegan restaurant in the theatre district. The food was very tasteful, and the service was excellent. The "chicken wings" were delicious. I highly recommend this establishment.

Delicious food

By Cooliogal |

A vegan friend and I went here. Amazing restaurant and profits go to charity. We had a really good Caesar salad and the vegan BBQ sauce and mushroom sandwich with vegan blue cheese was out of this world delicious. The gorilla shake drink with coconut cream was really yum too.The menu has really nice items. The decor is classy and staff are really good too. There is a bar too.Great place to catch up at with friends too.

Excellent for plant-based cuisine (it’s all vegan)

By Hannah R |

The menu is a bit misleading, because it says chicken when it means soy or mushroom. The whole menu is vegan. That said, even the meat-eaters in my party felt they had plenty to eat and enjoyed the food. They were also very accommodating of a group arriving without a reservation on a weekend brunch.

Stumbled in. Didn’t know it was a Vegan place. But wow!

By wigerein |

Really great place, fantastic service, great food and cool location. Didn’t understand it was vegan until we ordered coffe and they didn’t have dairy. I love meat, ordered chicken with my salad and was fooled. And the mimosas were lovely;)

A vegan oasis in a city that doesn't really do vegan (or vegetarian)

By 1234qwerty5678 |

Given NYC's size and status, generally vegan and vegetarian options in the city are relatively rubbish compared to any other non-US city. But P.S. Kitchen was simply superb in the quality of food. The taste is not compromised and everything was so fresh. Some unusual options too as well as staples. Same for drinks too. I would highly recommend this. Very central to Times Square but does not feel commercialized. So pleased to have found it. Everyone in the party (1 vegan and 3 vegetarians - including children) loved it.

Very good but not great.

By ANewDayVegan |

We ate at PS Kitchen on a visit to NYC. My husband and I both ordered the PS Burger which is a "Beyond patty with vegan queso, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and thousand island dressing on a pretzel bun". It was very good but a little overpriced at $16. The side of Truffle Fries was a generous portion and the highlight of the meal. We sat upstairs and I really felt for our waiter as he hustled things up and down the staircase. A well-stocked upstairs galley would be a good addition to the seating on the second floor. Overall, it was a good meal and we always appreciate an all-vegan restaurant while traveling.

Good service

I appreciated that the restaurant did not feel cramped and the great service. The food was okay and not very warm. I really love their philosophy and mission.

Good food, cute location, great service

By Adrienne Toumayan |

This is a great vegan restaurant right in the theatre district so great for a pre-Broadway meal. The restaurant itself is super cute, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the food was quite good, but we were a little disappointed by all the fake meat on the menu - I much prefer when vegan restaurants get creative with real vegan ingredients - vegetables, beans, nuts, etc. - rather than just trying to create meat-centered dishes with fake meat.

Vegan or not, you should go here!

By Thunderberg |

P.S. Kitchen is not just an amazing vegan restaurant, it’s also a vegan social business based in NYC. I did not know that before (read more about that on their website), but I had heard great things about their food! I’m a burger dude by heart, so I tried their Smokey BBQ Burger (Beyond Burger, American Cheese, Caramelized Onion, Smokey Portobello Mushrooms, BBQ Sauce and Pickles on a Pretzel Bun) and it was one of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had! …and I’ve had quite a few. Excellent place with super friendly staff. A must visit, vegan or not.

Good experience

By Viivi |

Cozy and easy going restaurant. We went there on a Saturday night for dinner and it was very busy. We had to wait a while for the food. We liked especially the beyond burgers but the lasagne not so much. High quality food and nice atmosphere.

Amazing Food. Be Patient. Big portions.

By Dan F |

We had a very good meal with a small appetizer and two entrees. The truffle fries were wonderful...thing, oily...truffly. Hot..and served with BBQ sauce on the side. The Ceasar Salad with avacodo was one of the best I have ever had. It was "small plate" size but was more than enough for an entree. The lasagna, while not huge, was very filling and a perfect size to fill full but not bloated. Service as attentive. The restaurant is really lovely on the inside, very comfortable (though the chairs are not).

Best Vegan burger ever

By Falko |

We had a great night here. Very nice people working here and we had the best vegan burger ever. I’m not a vegetarian, but this burger was better then the most meat burgers.

Great!

By annemcr2 |

Lovely vegan restaurant gem around the corner from Times Square. Great food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Think it would please non vegans too.

Got sick (because of gluten)

By Yoicb |

Food was delicious. Staff was very knowledgeable. Got sick anyhow. 2 hours after dinner, a big gluten belly and sick through the night. If you're not so sensitive then this is your place, because the food was delicious. Not too many gluten free options also. Mainly salad (fries are cross contaminated)

Super tasty fun spot in theater district

By Stacy L |

Delicious food with a great vibe! Very convenient for pre-theater, and great service! Can't believe it's all plant based!

Great lunch spot

By twinstatetraveller |

I had Buffalo Maitake Sandwich and a Bird of Paradise from the bar, which was absolutely delicious & I left full, unwilling to order a dessert that I couldn't fully appreciate. I stopped in the following evening to order the peach cobbler. It was most excellent. Highly recommended and the business model of giving back bumps the rating to the top!

Amazing Vegan Menu and Cocktails!

By Ray K |

We had a wonderful artichoke soup, caesar salad and 2 desserts as well as an amazing cocktail. They were short staffed and still did a great job taking care of us. The bartender/server was terrific and we would go back any time we are in the area. You must try this place!!!

Not A Vegan

By Kuvasz1988 |

I am a meat eater but decided upon my daughters urging to try vegan. We decided upon this restaurant. I was amazed at the quality and taste of the food. Superb. I’m almost a convert. Service was impeccable. Only downside is the cost as it is expensive.

Good Vegan Food!

By Mary L |

Good choices and food the is very visually appealing! The pot pie and brownie dessert with coconut ice cream was awesome.

NYC attitude with good food

By Angpang |

Delicious food. Amazing vegan stuffed peppers. The service was a little snooty. The vibe is definitely on the “cool” side so the attitude it to be expected I guess.

Vegetarian heaven!

By FLHarlock |

I am a lifelong vegetarian and have never had a meal this good. It was a burrito with beyond meat and truffle fries. OMG so delicious! My wife had a beyond burger with truffle fries and couldn’t finish it. For a vegetarian there is no restaurant that even compares to this. Highly recommended!

Good food, cute restaurant.

By Concord Z |

The food was good enough even for the carnivores. Although the restaurant is cute, and trendy, somehow it lacks a bit of something. Food was good, but not spectacular. The desserts were also good, but again, not spectacular. Even the two vegetarians were a bit underwhelmed. Perhaps it's the price of the food vs the taste. In fairness it was February and many things are very out of season. The food was good, but not as good as we expected.

Great vegan food, service and atmosphere. Awesome menu!

By Carrie W |

A wonderful place that is all vegan, offering a lot of traditional dishes like lasagna, fried chicken and chicken pot pie. We ordered the “chicken” pot pie and mashed potatoes and beyond beef burrito. Great food, fast service, inviting little place. Highly recommend.

Great food and wonderful service

By Kathy C |

I wish I had the recipe for the Maple Roasted Honeynut Squash Sandwich at P.S. Kitchen! The squash was cooked to perfection, and the bread that surrounded it was perfectly seasoned. I could eat this every day! I wish I could tell you what other dishes are like, but my daughter also ordered this and loved it. Our servers were enthusiastic and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I would eat here for every meal when I’m in NY, but I suppose I should check out other places too. But I hope to return to P.S. Kitchen sometime soon!

Incredible Vegan meal-from a nonvegan.

By danceinny |

Absolutely amazing Thai “chicken” burger. Wow! Crave worthy. Will be back before I leave NYC! If I could, I’d eat here every day!

Awesome Late-Night Vegan Food

By NotWearingACap |

We went here on our first night in New York, having seen a show on Broadway and in serious need of food. Not only did we find vegan food at quite a late hour, but it was incredibly tasty and in a lovely, friendly place. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to New York.

PS Kitchen is a true gem! Vegetarian food, fun and a great mission.

By maggiesmagic |

Terrific food with a large selection of vegetarian and gluten free options. A lively bar scene at night with great food, drinks and fun. And a terrific, helpful staff. Their mission of career-directing challenged kids and young adults is a joy to watch in action. NYC is full of 'healthy' restaurants but this one really stands out. It's a true gem.

Veggie with heart

By Tiffany |

The whole menu is vegetarian, and delicious. We had dinner - ordered artichoke hearts and salads for starts, followed by "chicken" pot pie and lasagna. All the revenue goes to charity, and the employees are super friendly. Full bar, modern style, great location, and delicious wines.

Very tasty.... but!

By jeff f |

First of all I've got to say the food is very very good, really tasty and beautifully presented but......... This place is overpriced for what you get. Go for the large plates and you'll get a large plate but the food is a small portion. It's a shame because it's a great place to eat, with a lovely atmosphere. I thought at first it was me, but my wife, who has a small appetite said exactly the same, great food shame about the portions.

Delicious lunch in the theatre district

By bluesmama11 |

Amazing meal and friendly service in a pretty setting, plus down the block from the theatre we were going to. Good selections on the menu from light to a bit heavier. We also loved the dessert too, even though the ice cream was dairy free!

Glad we went

By Rebecca S |

Only one of us was vegan but it didn’t disappoint the others at all. We all enjoyed the impossible burger and corn chowder and vegan pot pie.

Fab

By Lynne E |

Well what can I say. The whole menu is plant based and what a choice. I had one of their many burger options and my friend had the 'chickn' Cesar salad (she is not vegan but said she couldn't taste the difference' Staff were friendly and attentive. Fab food, fab place would certainly go again if in New York

Great vegetarian fare

By Jamie M |

Great ambiance and friendly service, but what it's really about... the food! Everything on the menu looked awesome and as a vegetarian I loved not having to figure out what does and does not contain meat. I could order anything without having to think twice. I had the Buffalo Maitake Sandwich and my daughter had the Beyond Burrito. Both were delicious and plentiful (on the spicy side, but we both like that and the menu indicated that our dishes would be hot). We will definitely be dining here again next time we are in the city!

Great new option before a show

By K.R. |

Great spot for drinks or a meal before a show, particularly if you're vegan. I went with a group, and the staff were friendly and helpful. My friends all enjoyed it, vegan or not. It's my new go-to spot in the theatre district.

So yummy!

By Terri G |

As a picky vegetarian, it can be difficult to find “good” food. This place was delicious and everyone was so friendly! My boyfriend and I split the BBQ Seitan sandwich and PS Burger and both were wonderful. Come here!

Fun Dinner with Friends

By michellegH4921JT |

One of the people in our party selected the restaurant. None of our group is Vegan but we were willing to try. We went to dinner prior to the theater and we were celebrating my birthday. The food was excellent. We started with fried artichokes as the appetizer. I tried the Smokey BBQ Burger and it was delicious with the portabello mushroom. I asked if I could substitute a salad for the fries and my server was very accommodating. I selected the apple cobbler for dessert and the staff put a candle on it and sang to me. The service was excellent. I would go again.

Bbq beyond burger - to die for!

By joey830 |

Came here for lunch on a weekday. It wasn't too busy and we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in. I had the iced peppermint tea which was really refreshing. I also did the prix fixe lunch - the special butternut squash soup and the bbq beyond burger. Both were hands down the tastiest things I have ever eaten. The soup was so delicious, had tons of flavor and just the right amount of spice. The bbq burger was a little messy but finer lickin good. If you're vegan and headed to NYC, this is definitely worth a try.

A great find for a vegan meal in midtown

By WorldTraveler026 |

My experience was mixed, but I'll be back. The crispy artichoke was overwhelmed by the batter and had no artichoke flavor, but my warm farrow salad was delicious. Making a vegan dessert is difficult - the chocolate mousse and the raspberry purée of the chocolate, raspberries dessert were terrific but the cake was dry and tasteless. My server was mediocre, but the bus person was terrific. Their roles should have been reversed.

Warm, Friendly, Delicioud

By Dara Levine |

My mother and I dined at PS Kitchen last night. It was a random selection as we wanted something close the theater. We are both New Yorkers, in fact my mom grew up here.  Upon entering the restaurant, I was first to arrive, I was greeted by the hostess- friendly and warmly. I used the bathroom, came back and explained that my mom was likely unable to climb the stairs to the second floor so they noted to seat us on the ground floor. My mom arrive a few minutes late and we were taken to the "2 top table" in the back. Upon looking at the menu, my mom did not realize PS Kitchen was Vegan. We were greeted, waters filled and kept being refilled without asking. Our waiter was such a warm and genuine person. He truly wanted us to enjoy our meal. He was working on our schedule to leave on time for the theater. We ordered the Green Goddess Salad to split (huge salad and very clean and delicious) and 2 PS burgers with fried. Wow- they were filling and full of flavor!! My mom kept saying, really, this is Vegan? It was beautifully presented and delicious. What a lovely and warm staff you have from every person who we encountered and what amazing food -flavorful and yummy.

Disappointing!

By Potomac_11 |

Nice looking place with good service and a menu that sounds good. Unfortunately, every dish we had was a meat wannabe that did not make it and left us queasy later that evening.

Without animals 😍

By bunni87 |

We had a lovely stay in the restaurant. It is worth mentioning that everything in the restaurant is vegetarian or vegan. It tasted great and the service was very friendly. Close to Times Square, it is a lovely place to escape the hustle and bustle for a few moments. The only downside is the somewhat unloving dining room.

Delicious and supporting good causes

By Gabe T |

Delicious. I don't leave a lot of reviews but happy to support this business. And they donate profits to charity. Recommend!

Beautiful, cozy place with delicious vegan food

By Elenka S. |

We were very impressed by this beautiful, cozy restaurant. This place is very inviting by atmosphere and people who work there. The food was absolutely delicious with outstanding presentation. We tried almost everything and you can’t go wrong with any choices. We highly recommend this restaurant :)

Overpriced

By chins01 |

We went here to grab a bite to eat after a show. They were only serving their late night menu, which was minimal, but we decided to give it a try. We ordered three items and spent $70. We left hungry and went out to a pizza place after. Apparently we didn't order enough to keep them happy though as the waitress grabbed our dishes while we were still taking our last bites. I love that they donate their profits to a good cause and I love that they serve a vegetarian menu. The atmosphere was nice but the food wasn't great and the fact that we left and had to go elsewhere for dinner after spending $70 for basically mini appetizers is absurd.

Great food

By roadtripin123 |

Visited on a solo trip to NY. Perfect. Had the sweet chilli chicken and fries. Went back 2 days later for a second round. Bar seating and tables. I’ll be back to try something else another day!

Vegan yumminess!

By Joistraaten@gmail.com |

We walked 20 minutes in the cold & wind to eat here. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that without a reservation we couldn't be seated because they were reserving the space for a private event. We tried to figure out another vegan spot close by. But before we could leave, the hostess, Julie, checked with management, and they were able to seat us! Our server was Julian, and he was charming. The food was basic for vegan fare - Beyond Burgers & fries, but it was presented well, and tasted good! I was disappointed that they were out of gluten-free buns, but the lettuce wrap was fine. The space is quaint but the music didn't quite fit with the rest of the vibe. I would recommend P.S. Kitchen for good vegan food in NYC! Julie & Julian were great, and their efforts made the experience even better.

Great meal before a broadway show

By Jill's Travels |

A perfect spot for a delicious dinner before a show. This is a busy vegan restaruant located right in the theater district, with a terrific menu. It was a cold January evening, so the "chicken" pot pie was our obvious choice. So, so good!

Not quite what you want

By H9230MMmarc |

This is a so-so place. Food is ok, without anything outstanding. The real issue i, n real veggie/vegan philosophy: Say, you are offered a truffle variant of fries, and the waiter has evidently no clue of how good “bio” truffles are harvested (hint: pigs). The menu boast “vegan” but has several indication of cheese in it (including “American”?!). And the cherry on the cake is that for brunch you will pay for each cup of coffee (around 4.50 dollars plus tip). Not only is it somewhat vicious for a brunch (: you keep calling the staff for coffee, they keep forgetting, but man, this us brunch, you NEED coffee) but it’s not environmentally conscious: each new coffee order means a new mug/cup, which will have to be cleaned up, etc. So all in all my diagnosis is that this is a place that is trying to make money out of the vegetarian craze, not a honest vegetarian place with a philosophy. For the lack of philosophy, i would give just one star. And three for the food (which is average): result, two stars, “poor” which is a fair depiction.

Love this restaurant

By Stacy B |

My husband and I came on a Friday evening for dinner. We shared the Caesar Salad, the Lasagna and the Chicken Pot Pie - things I cannot get anywhere else as a vegan. We shared the Cheesecake for dessert. Everything was delicious, the service was great and I would come back again.

Creative Vegan

By Shampeu |

I loved almost everything we ordered at this restaurant. My favorite dish by far was the bao. They were super flavorful and hearty. The crispy artichokes were delicious but I wish there were more on the plate for the price. The buffalo wings tasted just like meat and even had the traditional spicy sauce that typically comes with chicken wings. I was licking my fingers! My family devoured the potato soup. The mixed green salad with green goddess dressing was disappointing. I’m not sure if the salad needed more dressing, more accompaniments, or if the dressing just needed more flavor but the salad was bland.

Fab vegan restaurant gives its profits back to charity

I had the ps burger and truffle chips Beautiful and good price I also had their cheesecake Ab Fab Would revisit here again

Hostess and filthy

By Work and Play in Midtown |

The hostess sat us at the worst table in the restraint although the place was nearly empty. My seat looked at a dark back area with a curtain to the kitchen. We had reservations for weeks and were dressed for the theatre. The girl I was with is beautiful enough to be a model. The entire restaurant was open and we were in the dank area. I wish I could have eaten on the curb instead. The menus are dirty. The hostess brought me a drink with a filthy frosted glass that had a huge black crust on the lip of the glass. I know she saw it as she expertly twisted the glass as she poured to hide the crusty black gook. The menu is limited. The waiter was efficient. The place is dirty. I’ll never go back. What a huge disappointment. There are much better restaurants. I work in the city and I’m a vegan. Horrible experience. Don’t waste your money or time to be treated like that.

Bland or overwhelming, take your pick...

By Michael P |

Stopped in for lunch, and opened with the Colombian Potato Soup. The garnishes of lime, onion, cilantro and radish couldn't mask the fact that the soup tasted like someone had boiled a potato and puréed it in the cooking water. This soup needs butter and cream, and no amount of creative substitution is going to change that. Followed up with the Steamed Bao, which feature the flavorful Hen of the Woods mushroom. What could have been a tasty dish was ruined by the sickeningly sweet sauce slathered all over it. A small amount may have worked, but in this case one item ruined the dish. Each dish was $15, excessive for the small quantity and inexpensive ingredients. Keep walking, there are many other lovely restaurants on this street.

Very Good Spot for Lunch

By 493Ron |

I am always on the lookout for good or even great restaurants in the theater district - they are surprisingly difficult to find. P.S. Kitchen is a good option. Food was very good - there are lots of imaginative vegan and vegetarian options. Service was very good. Prices are moderately high. Ambiance is upscale urban industrial.

Little gem of a place!

By jules |

Soon as we entered we were greeted with such a warm welcome there were 4 of us just over from UK for 3 days, this restaurant was so lovely staff so warming and polite loved it. The food was fab and the lovely lavender lemonade was gorgeous! An all round brilliant experience for all of us so glad we went there on spur of moment!

15/10 so amazing

By Rebekah M |

Honestly the best experience ever we had the bartender Luna she was FANTASTIC!!!! So sweet and accommodating!! Drinks were AMAZING food amazing the mushroom buffalo sandwich is FIRE!!!!! Again service/food 15/10!!!!!!!

Slow and disorganized.

By David B |

My daughters who are vegetarian liked the food. I, however, could not get past the very slow kitchen and the prices for such small portions. The wait staff was very very nice, and in fact, they mad an adjustment to the bill with us asking because the orders took so long to arrive and when they did arrive they arrived one order at a time with long gaps in between. Bottom line is if you are vegan, and if you have time to hang out there, and if you can afford to pay high prices for very little food you may like the place.

Amazing vegan food!!!!

By Zaneta12345 |

Just amazing!!! We found it really hard to find vegan dishes around Time Square and P.S. Kitchen was just perfect! The restaurant was recommended to us and we will be 100% recommending it to everyone we know will be visiting NY! The food was just amazing, the service was great. Thank you!

We love it!

By Laudaniki |

It’s already the second time we have the pleasure to eat their food. Good job guys! We love it. From the appetisers to the dessert which came with a good coffee. Very nice stop in the heart of NYC. Better book a table, the place is quite popular!

Truffle French Fries!!!!

By Rudi Rudi |

We order several entree and share. It is all good. I like seeing children and young adults eat vegan food. -- I am not a vegan -- I am a lover of good food. This place had good food. We adore the bartender. He provided excellent customer service. The Thai Chicken sandwich had fake chicken , but real Thai flavor. The beat salad was big enough for all of us. The Truffle fries were the best in NYC. This place was busy. I recommend a reservation. It is located next to Broadway. Enjoy your meal and see a show!

Great comfy spot

By Red |

I am only a weekend vegan. With that being said , i odered the Smoke Beyond Meat Burger. This plant based burger defied the odds. It's one of the best non burgers I have ever tasted. It's definitely a bit pricey but it's also delicious.

Very delicious vegan food

By Mike S |

Very delicious vegan food as well as interesting and tasty non-standard cocktails. We tried the artichokes as starter, followed by the P.S. Burger and the Brownie with Coconut ice cream as desert.

Great pre-theatre option

By Philippa H |

We chose P.S. Kitchen as it was convenient for a meal between shows - added bonus that it is plant based (vegan in our group) and gives its profits to charity. The food was all tasty and there was a good drink selection. Fair prices for the area.

I guess is for meat lovers! Beyond meat. Non healthy

By SONIA G |

Nice place and great staff, but expensive, I order a “ chicken burguer “ but was deep fried and I didn’t like the smell so go direct to trash. I order also to est at my hotel the , coliflower wings and same, so oily and deep fried, is not the kind of food I like when I go to a vegan restaurant. Expensive also. I never go again, I feel I put my money on the trash.

Tnx Luna

By Corina K |

Great restaurant with all vegan menu. Service was really great. There was a ovely vibe in the restaurant. All profits are donated to charity.

Excellent Meal but disappointing in other aspects

By Harold B |

Excellent food and presentation. As a first time customer, we were disappointed that we were given perhaps the worst table location in the house, crowded in with four other couples in this noisy area while more favorable tables were available in the room and upstairs. Also our plates were whisked away as soon as we put down our forks not giving us a minute to relax. That said the rest of our experience was very good.

Favourite Restaurant

By Navigate06040361524 |

PS Kitchen is an amazing restaurant. Fantastic food and fabulous and attentive service. Great environment. We were in New York for a week and visited this restaurant at least 4 times! The food is plant based and incredibly delicious. All profits from PS Kitchen go to charity. Would definitely recommend especially for plant based / vegan diners.

Unique and good

By worldtravelerT1820IO |

I have never seen a restaurant like this one. First, all profits go to charity, the place has an admirable mission statement and did I mention it is vegan? We knew it was vegan and decided to give this healthy option a chance. It was so good that folks at other tables couldn't believe it was vegan. Food was excellent and are server was very good. I would go back and hope others do too.

Wonderful small restaurant

By Rachel H |

We chose PS kitchen because of the vegan menu and the charitable aspect of their work, including donating profits and hiring people who have trouble in the job market (e.g., ex-offenders). We had a very good small vegan meal and great cocktails. Recommended for anyone who loves good vegan or vegetarian food. Our only complaint was the bottles of still water on the tables contained bunches of mint that were not fresh. This affected the taste of the water.

The perfect place to dine. Great energy, great food, great staff.

By Rob Morris |

During a visit to NYC we ate twice at this wonderful place. The amazing concept behind the restaurant is synonymous with the amazing food they serve. The vegan menu is an absolute delight, the food was fresh and delicious and I genuinely felt spoilt for choice. All of this coupled with fantastic service that each time went above and beyond our expectations. Thank you to the hosts for squeezing us in without a reservation and special thanks to Frank and Elainie for their perfect service. We love this place! P.S... save space for a cocktail😊

Exceptional find

By 945hjv |

Hard to find a non-touristic eatery in the theater district especially exclusively vegan. But this is the one, vegan cuisine of decent quality with moderate prices and friendy attentive service.

Boring

By SZi |

As vegans, we were very happy to "force" our non-vegan friends to check this restaurant but unfortunately, we couldn't make a point about plant-based gourmet food here. The shiitake mushroom small plate was covered with ketchup like source the "chicken" dish was boring. The burgers were good (used the beyond meet) but served cold. the cheesecake was the only joy. Bottom-line, doesn't worth the time and money

Great food and service!

By Matt W |

We managed to get a table on a walk-in on Friday evening and we’re glad we did! The food was great and the service was friendly as well. There was plenty of choice on the menu and I really enjoyed trying both dishes (the orzo and Caesar) and then we both had a dessert... cheesecake and choc pie... amazing!!!! I’d highly recommend PS Kitchen and wish them every success 👍🏻

tasty vegan

By scbeaches |

we had the bbq "chicken" salad, thai "chicken" sandwich, brussels, and glass of cab. we had a resy but sat at the bar. all were tasty and service by bartender was great.

Incredibly delicious vegan food in a cool contemporary setting and warm friendly service. Vegan food as it should be. Highly recommended.

Excellent Service and Food

By SuperTed19 |

The chicken pot pie is the best we’ve ever had, the P.S. burger is superb, the butterfly lemonades are refreshingly delicious, and the chocolate raspberry ganache is out of this world.

Incredible meal

By john k |

Amazing meal! Everything was fresh and the flavors blended incredibly well. We had the Green Goddess Salad to start. The lasagna was out of this world in taste. The orzo was delicious. Topped off the meal with the warm brownie and coconut ice cream. Our server Aline was attentive and very helpful with the menu. Love the charity concept. We’ll be back

WOW! Great food ... not to be missed!!

By TomGNorthport_Ny |

Incredible vegan food that non-vegans will LOVE! The restaurant is a breath of fresh air with an interesting menu. There's no dairy, a lot of gluten-free and sugar-free options and the food is glorious. The burgers are out of this world along with outstanding and very yummy maitake mushroom wings (be sure to try the Thai chili sauce - so good)! Desserts are off-the-charts, great! Wines can be a little on the pricey side but there is a nice draft/bottled beer list along with non-alcoholic drinks, as well. Coffee is terrific. All-in-all, if you aren't a vegetarian you will STILL love the food here. Servers were great. It's not a cheap night out and the restaurant can be a little on the noisy side (it was the night we dined there) BUT, it's in a nice location off the overly touristy beaten path in Time Square. Go and support this restaurant. We will be back! Vegetarian options: All vegetarian, plant-based. LOTS of gluten-free offerings.

Great vegetarian option in theatre district

Dined at this establishment before a Sunday show, and we were pleasantly surprised. The menu is vegan, and the food was quite tasty. The servers couldn't be more friendly. The service was very good. The prices were reasonable. Will be back.

Great Night Out with Friends

By CarolAnn G |

We were out before the theatre - 6 friends. (We were celebrating a Birthday.) No one is a Vegan. They let me pick the restaurant and I LOVE trying new places. PS Kitchen did not disappoint. They sat us right away and our server was very attentive. Two friends were not very keen on being at a vegan restaurant but they shared the burger and lasagna. The rest of us each got our own dinners. We also got drinks and had a great dinner and celebration!! We started with the fried brussel sprouts appetizer - with 6 of us, we got 2. Great sauce. Great taste. I got the burger on the pretzel bun which was very moist and tasty. I got it with a side salad instead of fries. We all enjoyed our dinners and finished every bite - even the vegan doubters. We got the apple cobbler for dessert and they put a candle in it for us to celebrate a little more. Our friend thoroughly enjoyed her celebration and we loved our meals!! I will definitely be back!! Outstanding meal! Outstanding service!

Perfect Vegan Brunch

By shopgal2365 |

This restaurant is all plant based and has some of the best vegan dishes I’ve ever had. The brunch menu has lots of options and great mimosas! So happy to find a vegan restaurant in the city.

They may have converted me!!!

By Zoop |

I had time to kill before a show so I was just wondering around aimlessly until I came across this establishment. I quickly read the outside menu not realizing it was vegan. When my food came, all I could say was OMG! I had no idea my crab cakes were crab free! The Thai chicken wings were fabulous! It even looked and had the consistency of chicken. It was an extremely pleasant surprise and I will definately bring my friends with me to dine when wr come in for the next show! The wait staff was do friendly and the service was outstanding. Thank you for my day incredible even with the mediocre play I had seen.

Amazing Vegan Experience

Wonderful experience all around. Staff super friendly and knowledgable. The food was outstanding. Comfortable funky chic decor. Loved it all. Thank you!

Vegan with a mission

By Dolores B |

Within walking distance from our hotel, this vegan restaurant was the highlight of our brief visit to NYC. Excellent fresh food, beautifully prepared & presented by the most gracious waitstaff. As if delicious food were not enough, all profits help educate women in Haiti.

A Great Find

By markhamwanderer |

I was looking for a restaurant with vegan dishes that was near the theatre district and P.S. Kitchen came up. Its high rating is well justified. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. I ordered the burger and my wife had chicken pot pie. Both were excellent. And the service was efficient - without any rushing we finished with lots of time to spare to get to our show. We'll certainly go back there again.

😘❤️😘

Fantastic! Saw the storefront from across the street and we fell in love at first sight. The place is organic from inside out. We had the avocado 🥑 toast and the veggie burger with truffle fries. Yum! Great food great service great music great vibe!

Good Vegan Meal. Excellent Service

By Benzboy06 |

Walking down 48th St, we passed P.S. Kitchen and didn't realize it until we were almost a block away. The reason being is that the signage is small and it only says, "P.S." so we were happy to find it. The restaurant is rather small so we were worried we would not get a seat. We did not have a reservation so the hostess asked if we would like to sit at the bar. Because I wanted to look longinly into the eyes of my husband, I declined the bar offer and hoped for a table in the next hour or os. Our hostess worked her magic and got us a table right away. Our server addressed us timely and took our orders. I ordered the Chik'n Pot Pie and my husband the Veggie Lasagna. Several minutes later the server came back and said that they were out of the lasagna so disappointingly he ordered the stuffed pepper. It didn't take long to get the meal which was great because I was starving. Our meals were only okay to be honest. Nothing special for the price we paid which is alwasy disappointing as I always love my vegan restaurants. To top the night off we decided to order dessert--the mousse. Several minutes after we ordered, our server comes back and tells us they were out of the mousse, so we ordered something else, which was good. Because we had missing dishes, we were comped drinks so that made the nice much better and a contribution to the 4-star; but, the true 4-star was a server. He was excellent.

Best place in Hells Kitchen

Dang, this might be my most favorite vegan joint ever. Small and easy to miss, even on foot. Look up so you dont miss the sign. Great staff and the Vegan Wings were out of this world.

Great Food and a Good Cause, Too!

If you are vegan looking for great food in the Theatre District of New York City, your search is over. PS Kitchen happened to be 200 feet from our hotel, but even if it had been farther, it would have been worth the trip. As USA TODAY's First Road Warrior of the Year, I travel a lot. PS Kitchen is a neighborhood gem that we will revisit when we are in NYC. Because we typically overeat, we decided to share the BBQ Beyond Burger and the Golden Beet Salad. Both were exceptional. We finished this special meal by sharing their Flourless Chocolate Ganache Cake with Raspberry Coulis. If you like chocolate of the population does---you must try this melt-in-your-mouth delight.

A terrific gem in the theater district

PS Kitchen is a wonderful little gem, a terrific find. I live in NYC and had never heard of it. A friend and I were going to theater and I was tired of all my go-to places in that area. Because she eats kosher food and is mainly vegetarian, I did a search for "vegetarian kosher" in the theatre district and PS Kitchen came up. The reviews everywhere were excellent and I liked the fact that they donate their profits to charity. So we made a reservation and went. It was fabulous for all the above reasons. We will definitely go back and I am going to take my husband and daughter there the next time we go to the theater district. I am also going to recommend it to everyone. My friend had lasagna, I had the "steak," and we shared a large, delicious appetizer of grilled Brussel sprouts. The food is 100% plant based and is delicious even if you are not vegetarian (I'm not) or don't keep kosher (I don't). The service is top-notch and friendly and the two-floor restaurant itself is attractive and comfortable. They offer alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. They did not rush us out. The prices are reasonable. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant.

Yummy vegan food

We enjoyed lunch and, last month, dinner at PS Kitchen. The atmosphere is very nice, service is very good and the food is delicious. We highly recommend the “burger” and truffle fries. For dinner, the lasagna is excellent!

Vegan good

I like meat. Sorry But the place is cute, the food good and the staff very friendly. Beyond burger lived up to billing. Ask for crispy.

Many good vegan options

By Ohiomom15 |

As a vegetarian, I really enjoyed this restaurant, knowing all of the options were vegan. There were several plant-based meat dishes, but several salads, too. I got the caesar salad with crispy "chicken" and it was delicious. We had a delightful waitress, Corinne, who provided excellent service.

Vegan delight

Really good food. I am not a vegan but enjoyed every bite. Very cheery wait staff and they donate profits to charity.

Good food, small portions and poor service

By Gina B |

Good Very nice decor Convenient to theater Good if you’re dieting Profits go to charities Bad Very slow service Small, and I mean small portions Not many options to choose from Ugly For the portion size, this place is a rip-off Our daughter selected this restaurant because she is vegan. We’ve dined with her at several other vegan restaurants so this isn’t our first rodeo. Dined Wednesday 12/26. We were greeted warmly by the hostess who graciously changed our reservation from 3 to 4. We followed her to the second floor which revealed a nice open, but cozy space. Once she sat us at the table we sat for at least 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. The greeting came from a young lady who poured us water, and clearly did not seem to be happy to have been there. The water bottles contained fresh mint, but you couldn’t taste it, which seemed confusing to us. She set the bottles down very hard on the table, more than once, which seemed very off putting. Finally, after about another 15 minutes our server showed. He apologized and said the kitchen was backed up. However, the restaurant wasn’t full; again, confused. Other tables around us were vocally expressing frustration as well. We would have liked to have ordered a drink before dinner, but after having sat for a half hour with no attention, we decided it would be best to just place our drink order, along with food, all at the same time. The appetizers we ordered came out before the drinks. We received 2 bao for $15 and the Caesar salad was $16. I will say the appetizers tasted good. However, the taste of the food cannot overcome the small portion in relation to the price. I’ll echo the same comments for the dinner entrees. When dinner came to the table we laughed because we were already planning where to go to get something to eat after PS Kitchen! I get their vision, but won’t be back for the reasons above. I don’t see how experiences like this can sustain the restaurant in the long-term. Get the portions and prices in line or I think all the good things this restaurant is trying to do will come to an end.

Went there for dinner based

Went there for dinner based on the reviews and they were right. It was delicious!!! We had the chicken pot pie (no chicken of course) and the Lasagna. They both were amazing. We also had the truffle fries which was a huge serving. They were a little too salty for me but really good as well. The cost of the cocktails was crazy but I was reminded I was in New York. If you are plant based or not this is a wonderful restaurant!!

Good veggie food, very good cocktails

A nice place near to Times Square and Broadway. The staff were nice and the food was good. I had a beyond neat burger which was good. The cocktails were really nice, although pricey at $17. Would recommend it to others!

Very good food - Mostly good service

I visited P.S. Kitchen last year with 3 other girls for a friend's birthday. The decor was adorable, all whites and pinks, the food was delicious, albeit a little overpriced, (though it is basically on Broadway so only to be expected) and there is a bottomless mimosa option for $32 (or $45 for one entree and bottomless mims ) again, overpriced, but still very nice! We set a timer on our phone and got our money's worth. Food was so yummy and great quality and well cooked all round though. Coffee was great too. Only a couple of small issues- our main waiter was a lovely girl, very personable and chatty, but the boy topping our water glasses was extremely moody and quiet, and very rude when asked a simple question. Also had a slight issue when leaving a tip- my friends and I had put our money together to cover the bill for the 'birthday girl', and I guess we had worked out our tips wrong in the process and ended up tipping less than 15-20%. We actually had a senior member of staff come over to our table to tell us that we had not tipped enough. None of us are originally from the U.S. and it was a very embarrassing and awkward situation. More to the point, a tip is a voluntary extra and should never be demanded by a business. If you are going to expect 15-20% from all customers, add service charge to parties of 4 or more and make this clear on the menu so that guests are aware. All in all though, great food, great atmosphere and brunch experience, and I would visit again!
