After attending a Broadway play, my wife and I dined at the Paris Bar. It is located in the Le Meridien Hotel. The Paris Bar is a French bistro with a full bar. The atmosphere is sophisticated and resembles a Paris French cafe. We began by sharing the moules frites appetizer. They were served in a delicious broth of herbs, garlic and white wine. A very good crusty bread was served on the side. The frites were crisp and delicious. Entrees were the steak frites and beef bourguignon. The steak was juicy, tender and cooked perfectly with a delicious sauce on the side. The beef bourguignon was tender and served in a delicious red wine sauce. Our waiter was professional and friendly. The Paris Bar is a great choice for French bistro fare.

reviews Photo of Paris Bar Paris Bar 120 W 57th St, New York, NY 10019 Phenomenal food, service, atmosphere and cocktails make this our new favorite NYC restaurant. The renovation of what was an Asian fusion place is dramatically different, with classic comfortable booths and central seating too that enhances the lovely decor of this very special restaurant. Even the art on the walls is well thought out and compliments the theme of the restaurant perfectly. Our waiter Clinton was an exceptional waiter- and very funny may I add-, and made great suggestions for what to choose from the menu. And the menu is great…I would eat every single option listed. They have done a great job offering classic French Bisto food, filling a void from the closing of Rue57 a block away. I must mention that we also had a cocktail upstairs at Le Jardin, an open air rooftop bar and restaurant that is above Paris Bar. Highly recommended for a go-to place to impress a date or anyone, with its sexy decor and open air dining room. But back to Paris Bar. I can’t say enough for how perfect this restaurant was for my family to dine in, and we can’t wait to go back!! Thank you to the whole team in the FOH and BOH for truly making our night and weekend so special, and for the exceptional professionalism exhibited from the second we walked in, to the second we left. As you can tell, we LOVED this restaurant from A-Z and hope they are around for many decades to come!

Our 3rd visit since their recent opening. Ambiance pleasant. Service excellent. Drinks good. Food faux French. The place is lovely and welcoming. The chef should really stick to French cuisine rather than trying to reinvent the wheel. Beef Bourguignon should not have pork belly. Salad nicoise was not recognizable as such. I think if they could just stick to real French cuisine, they would have a winner. We’ve given it three tries so far and continue to be less than thrilled with this reinvention of French cuisine.

A wonderful French Bistro we found by accident, but so glad we did, the service was attentive and professional, and the food was just divine, we loved dinner so much we went back for Brunch the following day. Our visit on each occasion was made an even more joyous event by both Matthew and Chris, two wonderful Maitre d' who are both courteous, professional and understand the importance and value to a business of 5* customer service, gentlemen THANKYOU, we had a wonderful time...

Surprised that the Paris Bar has no reviews. This very comfortable and competent place is located on W 57th St in the Meridian Hotel. Newly opened, this venue is surely not just for hotel occupants. There is a bar area with dining tables near the fireplace (albeit with candles). We chose the dining room in the back. Very attentive and competent service. A truly Parisian bistro menu. Comfortable and well designed venue allowed us to relax and have a good meal. We appreciated the nearly non-existent noise level. The onion soup was first rate with a bonus “cap.” It had a huge, crusty pastry cap—a story worth telling. Other meal choices did not disappoint. We expect to return to this new venue.

Food is really good. Fairly priced wine list, great service. Try the Fetuccine with vegetables. Good French fries! Excellent!

The entire experience was good and repeatable. Literally across the street from our hotel in 20 degree weather was a big plus! :-)

$100 bottle of wine was too warm. French dip was full of grissel. Everything was too salty. There are too many great choices in NYC to chose this mediocre restaurant.

New in our neighborhood, open a couple on months & finding their way with food… but an excellent start: Good ambience, attention, & quiet table as requested, excellent service by Richard. Good presentations. Good Caesar salad if a little short on anchovies … nice rustic bread. Bouillabaisse a main motive for trying tonight: shellfish (lobster, prawns) a bit tough, broth a bit thin, so I'd consider it good but not great; Sancerre a good wine pairing… But terrific apple tart and all is forgiven.

We passed by this place a few times and decided to try last night. Food was fabulous. We shared the tier 3 (biggest) seafood tower and loved it. Hubby loved his burger and we loved the fries. I also enjoyed their pastry wrapped onion soup and their chef’s autumn salad with root vegetables and grilled pear. Wine selection is decent. Plan to go back again in a few weeks!!
Chef George made my vegan birthday memorable
My husband surprised me for my birthday with tickets to Masquerade, a re-imagining of the Phantom of the Opera as an immersive theater experience. We chose to eat dinner at the Paris Bar around the corner before the show where Chef George embraced my birthday-girl vegan requests. We started with bread and butter, and olive oil for me. The olive oil, all velvety mixed with balsamic tasted like a piece of heaven. When I asked our server what brand (wanted to buy back in Portland) he said he’d check. Next thing I know, Chef George shows up at our table with a personal sampling of the olive oil and a reference to House of Ellis, a friend who just started importing his family olive oil from Greece. To finish the meal, our server presented me with a Chef George surprise birthday dessert (off-menu, that should be on-menu). I wish I’d taken a picture: warm figs drizzled in a balsamic reduction with toasted almonds. Heaven. Thank you Chef George for a memorable birthday dinner. (And for your House of Ellis olive oil recommendation, all velvety delicious back in Portland, Oregon on a toasted baguette topped with heirloom tomatoes, fresh basil, and drizzled with a balsamic reduction.)
