Not a bad dinner at all. But don’t rip people off. If it’s not on the drinks menu, let us know the price. Quite annoyed at the above, $72 for 3 small Aperol’s is not cool

Patsy’s has such a rich family history of exquisite Italian recipes that are world renowned! From the moment you enter the door, you are greeted by family and professional staff. We dined in the iconic Frank Sinatra Room. We enjoyed a delicious dinner of spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Parmesan, fresh bread with olive oil and wine, followed with desserts including tiramisu and cannoli paired with fresh coffee. Our food was the best Italian cuisine we have ever had. Chef Sal came out to ensure our food was perfect. He is so genuine, treats all customers like they are his family.

We enjoyed our visit to Patsy’s tonight before seeing Six. Our food was delicious, and our server was attentive and friendly. Sal, the owner, came around to the table several times, and was extremely courteous and friendly. He even told us some stories about meeting Frank Sinatra during the many times Ol’ Blue Eyes ate at the restaurant. I highly recommend Patsy’s for a wonderful meal and a great experience.

Patsy’s is undoubtedly a New York icon among restaurants. The food is delicious, the atmosphere gives a feel of old world Italo-American and today chic. Yes, the food is amazing. The atmosphere is welcoming. But the real heart of Patsy’s is its owner - Sal Scognamillo. He is warm, welcoming, sincere, and humble. He took the time to introduce himself - and his beautiful wife, Lisa - to my group. He gave us a little history of Patsy’s, and of course the Frank Sinatra connection. If you visit NYC, please make it a point to get to Patsy’s. This place is a part of the rich history of NYC, and the food, vibe, and owners knock it out of the park!!!!! Go there!!!!!

Without a doubt, the best Italian food in NYC! I've been going to Patsys since 1992, and I've never found food that compares, from the perfect pasta, incredible fish, chicken and meat, delicious sauces, unique and wonderful appetizers and desserts, and a great selection of cocktails and wine, it's always an unparalleled dining experience. The chef/owner, Sal Scognamillo, has kept the profound history and "vibes" of the restaurant alive and well for foodies and families to continue to enjoy for over 70 years! My favorite dishes are chicken contadina and lobster oreganata, along with any pasta! When you're in NYC, treat yourself to lunch or dinner at Patsys!

There are better places in NY. Service was good but food average. Pricey. Came with good reviews from friends but I won't go back

Ravioli Trio was divine! Sal treats you like famiglia—authentic Italian warmth in every bite! Sal and his team made the entire evening unforgettable. If you’re ever in the city and want an authentic Italian experience that warms your heart as much as it delights your palate, this place is an absolute must. I can’t wait to return.

Traditional and pure New York Mood. Very complete menu with traditional Italian dishes, but not typical of any Italian restaurant. They serve mostly handmade pasta. The sauces are very tasty. Online prices to what is a normal restaurant (30$ plate). Dessert cart with very colorful cakes. Very abundant dishes

My absolute favorite spot in New York The food is exceptional, but it’s the top-notch service that truly sets it apart. The cocktails are pure perfection, and the desserts are simply divine. I’ve never had a bad experience here — consistently outstanding every time!

Patsy’s is my favorite dining spot when I’m in New York, the atmosphere is family friendly and welcoming. The owner Sal comes by the tables and chats and makes you feel like an old friend. The menu offers many options and the food is wonderful. I won’t make a trip to New York without visiting Patsys and neither should you, I Highly recommend.

In a city full of tourist traps you cannot go wrong with Patsys. There is a reason the place has been around for as long as it has and why A list celebrities continue to stop in. The food is great and prepared by a team who truly care. Sam the owner and Chef does his best to get around and check in on guests, which goes to show how much he actually cares about everyone’s experience. Always a great time and looking forward to returning!

Outstanding!! Everything from Antho, our waiter, to Chef/Owner Sal and his wife, to the fabulous old world Italian food, and the beautiful interior…Patsy’s is a world-class restaurant with that family friend appeal that you want to revisit every week or so. Located in midtown’s theater district and a quick ride from areas like Chelsea, it’s no wonder it was Frank Sinatra’s favorite restaurant! Bravo!!!

The gnocchi & meat sauce was very good and filling. Very friendly & accommodating staff. Owner came out every so often to make sure everybody was enjoying their experience. Highly recommend

I came to New York with my buddy from Graz—21 years old, strong opinions, especially about pizza. He’s the kind of guy who ranks every slice he’s ever had. We’ve had pizza all over Europe, but this one? Different. He took one bite, looked at the slice, not me, and said, “Bro… this is elite.” No overthinking, no debate—just respect. He didn’t even offer me a bite of the second one. If a picky Austrian says it’s the best pizza he’s ever had, trust him. New York pizza isn’t just food—it’s a lesson in humility.

Excellent service. Sal and his staff treat you like you are one of the stars on the wall. Delicious food. Feels like home. We do not go to any other restaurant when we visit New York City.

Wonderful food and staff... very enjoyable evening! Calamari was the best ever, the entries delicious and the desserts to die for!

Fabulous dinner after the theatre. Food was so delicious ! Mom and I split baked clams and zucchini flowers. I had veal with prosciutto and my mom had pulpo (octopus). We were stuffed but had to have the cannoli cake afterwards Warm, friendly environment.

A group of us, 4 couples, took a trip to NYC in December 2025 to see the holiday lights and decorations the city is famous for. One of our friends used to live in NYC and she highly recommended Patsy’s. Guess what? Among all of the fantastic experiences on this trip, our dinner at Patsy’s has to be one of the highlights! We had chef Sal’s famous lasagna and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant staff were all super friendly and helpful. No wonder this is one of the favorite spots for celebrities and we actually ran into not just one, but two celebrities that night! Anyone paying a visit to NYC must go have some authentic Italian food at Patsy’s. I know I will next time I am in town!

My boyfriend and I had the most beautiful anniversary dinner at Patsy’s tonight. He couldn’t decide between chicken parm and spaghetti and when he asked the chef he offered to make him a special combo. You do not find service like this anymore. Several generations of love have poured into this business and it shows. Highly recommend Patsy’s!!!

Excellent place for our business dinner with 12 people accommodated wonderfully! The food was incredible and the atmosphere was top notch! Sal and Joe couldn’t have been more welcoming. You truly feel like family when you are here and leave feeling full of the delicious food. Highly recommend!!

This is a wonderful restaurant, great people work there, and the food is amazing. It was just such a nice, positive experience in every way. We loved the history and the stories and everything. The hospitality was just off the charts!

I was born and raised in NYC and for some reason have never been to Patsy’s. This was my first time there and I can’t say enough about it! I went with some girlfriends to Adriana Trigiani’s book signing event. From the moment we walked in we were treated like family. The host, and the wait staff were very cordial and welcoming. Lisa, who is the co-owner, was very gracious and mingled with the group during the event. Co-owner, Chef Sal, even came out and welcomed us. The food was excellent! It is by far the best Italian food I’ve ever had. I will definitely be returning!

I ate delicious pasta. I loved it! The food was delicious, and the waitress was nice. The environment was wonderful. I loved it — of course, I will return!

I highly recommend Patsy's. The food is outstanding. Every dish was delicious with generous portions. I tried the artichoke appetizer and it was extraordinary. This family establishment has maintained the ambiance of a true Italian restaurant, friendly and a pleasure. Sal, the owner. clearly cares about your having a good experience.

Absolutely five-star service every single time. Patsy’s is as authentic as it gets — warm, welcoming, and always beautifully done, like stepping back in time! I’ve been coming here for years, and the quality has never wavered. Must try the spaghetti & meatballs — truly the best you’ll ever have. Classic, comforting, perfectly done. A brilliant experience from start to finish, every visit. Highly recommended.

Great staff, attentive. The server was great. Calamari was the best I've ever had. Food was amazing. Owner came out to greet us and make sure we were good and satisfied. Don't forget dessert. 6 out of 5 stars.

Excellent Italian in midtown . Third generation pride of ownership. Lasagne is offered on weekends . It is the best in the City. Homemade Desserts are excellent specifically the Cannoli. Consistently very good. Been coming here for years. Sal stopped by our table . Gracious Host as always

Patsy’s is the BEST!! Authentic old school Italian food! From the appetizers, drinks, entrees and desserts…so good!! Everyone is friendly and service was excellent!! Makes you feel right at home having a family dinner! Do not miss this gem of a place!! Definitely will be back soon!

We celebrated my daughters 16th birthday here. The food was amazing but even better was the staff! Sal, the owner and cook came out and spoke to us and even shared a recipie. It’s obvious they sincerely cared about our experience and love what they do. We would eat here again and again!

Fantastic service and food! The head chef came out and checked on us personally. You just don’t see attention like that anymore. The staff was friendly and prompt. I highly recommend coming here!

I need more stars for this rating! Patsy’s was one of our planned destinations for this trip to NYC. I hadn’t been there since 1997. It hasn’t changed - it is still perfect! 80 years in one location, Sal is only the third chef in those 80 years - he’s Patsy’s grandson. The whole staff is wonderfully attentive, absolutely superb at their jobs, and best of all, they treat you like your happiness is the most important thing in their lives. In over 50 years of restaurant experience all over the world, this was the best ever. The food was perfectly balanced in seasonings, presented beautifully, and Sal was delighted to prepare a favorite I requested that had not been on the menu in years. He took time to talk with us during our visit and was a gracious host even while running the kitchen. There is a reason many of New York’s most famous celebrities have named Patsy’s their favorite - Sal and the staff treat everyone the same, from Frank Sinatra in his day to an ordinary Joe in town for the week - they treat you like royalty, even better, like a much loved member of the family. We left not just having had a superlative experience, one we’ve been talking about ever since (the tiramisu was out of this world), but we left feeling not just well taken care of and treated to the finest cuisine possible…we left feeling loved by caring friends. We will be back to Patsy’s whenever possible and I’ll be back to TripAdvisor, when I come up with more words to capture the experience.

Family-run Italian gem operating since 1944 in NYC. Their warm hospitality, and exceptional service create a truly unforgettable experience. You are not just dining at a restaurant, you are welcomed into the Scognamillo home. The chef and 4th generation owner Sal even went to the effort to show us the room Frank Sinatra frequented, and share detailed stories of his time at the restaurant. A must-visit and such a special place. Thank you so much guys! ⭐⭐⭐⭐

My boys (14, 12, 9) are big Frank Sinatra fans so we came because it was his favorite restaurant. The entire experience was incredible. Very welcoming staff and we were treated so well. The food was incredible and fresh. My boys all said 5+ stars and we can’t wait to come back! Thank you for an amazing memory! Luca, Sebastian, and Dylan!

Authentic pasta dishes with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is friendly. A bit pricey, but worth every bite!

Patsy's is the best restaurant ever! Sal is the chef and is the sweetest man ever. The food was to die for. The waiters are experts at their craft and handsome as well! The staff was so receptive to all our needs and requests. If you’re ever in NYC, go to Patsy’s! You won’t be disappointed!

Had a brilliant experience here for my 40th birthday organised by my wife 4 months in advance. This was the second time we had visited this beautiful place and the food was as delicious as the first time. We were lucky to meet and chat to Sal as he made his way round the dining room talking to the diners, such a delightful man. He then surprised is further by arranging free desserts of our choice to celebrate my birthday which was lovely.

This is the perfect Italian restaurant! Every time we're in NYC we make sure to have at least one meal here! Tonight I had the shrimp scampi and yes, perfect!❤️

Chef Sal and his lovely wife Lisa were the most gracious hosts and the food was excellent! We got the Chef’s Sal’s Combo, Rigatoni Sorrentino, sautéed spinach and the most delicious, very generously poured glasses of red wine: Merlot and the Cab. A definite must when visiting Midtown, NY as this place and the people running it still have that “old school” charm! Very reasonably priced, as well! Be sure to stop and take a pic when Frank Sinatra statue at the bar! Just loved it, and you will too - this will be on our list every return trip!

I brought clients to dinner at Patsy’s and every single course was well received. I adore the simple flavor profile which highlights the fresh ingredients I will never visit NYC again without ta visit to Patsy’s HIGHLY recommend!!

Patsy’s was our NYC highlight!! We keep talking about how delicious the food was and how incredibly hospitable the service was. From the moment you walk in until you leave, you’re treated like a guest in someone’s home. Everything we ate was delicious, and the marinara is the best I’ve ever had. Best part? Sal graciously walked around to every table, ensuring we were enjoying ourselves. We look forward to returning to this iconic restaurant!

Chef Sal and his wife were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we wanted for our dinner. Food was amazing. Staff was very friendly . Made u feel like family. We will definitely be back !!!

Well what a wonderful experience - delicious food, wonderful service and a fantastic friendly owner - I’ll definitely be back! My best pasta meal ever!!

nice place , nice food . kind employees. Italian food , the restaurant is located in the center of Manhattan near the Central Park .

We went for lunch in Patsy's Italian restaurant on our last day in NYC. The best restaurant we visited so far. Very cozy place, the waiters, and the chef came to greet us and they honestly cared about our whole experience. It is obvious that the place has a long history, it is very authentic, and the food is really out of this world. Highly recommended!! Do not miss the cream cannoli dessert, it is absolutely fantastic. Even the espresso coffee we had in the end was the best coffee we drank in NYC. Do not miss this fantastic restaurant!

Every time I visit New York City, I dine at Patsy’s Italian Restaurant first. When I dined here the first time, it was because it was Frank Sinatra’s favorite restaurant. However, now I dine here because I love the food and the friendly hospitality of Sal. When he’s not busy in the kitchen, he’s making sure everyone is satisfied. He always lets me film him saying hello to my family members who dined at Patsy’s with me in the past, and he calls them by name. He makes sure his family owned restaurant still serves the best. I usually order Sal’s Combo, and Frank Sinatra’s favorite order was the veal cutlets. You have to dine here!

We ate at Patsy's for dinner after seeing a broadway play. The place has a lot of history and character. Food was delicious and fresh. Our waiter, Ato (sp?) was fun and attentive. Sal, the owner and chef, came out of the kitchen to see how everybody liked our meals, etc. He was fun to chat with and at the end of the meal we had our picture taken with him and Ato. See below.

Quite frankly, the best Italian restaurant I've ever been to. The food, the service and the atmosphere were quite simply, perfect. If you love Italian food, you have to go to Patsy's. Ask for Seyo's section, he's an outstanding server!

I love this place! The best Italian food. Just like my mother or grandmother’s cooking! Attentive servers and Sal the chef comes to the tables to visit and interact with his customers. There’s a lot of history and love of good food here. Definitely give it a try!

I went to this restaurant to have a nice meal with my partner, the food was average at best , my partners meal was very poor , I paid the bill but due to the poor standard of the food & service did it add a tip to the bill. I paid by card , the next day on my bank account I noticed they had charged me $40 extra , I emailed them and when they replied they said I had added the $40 tip to the bill ! , I explained I hadn't and it must have been one of their staff after repeated emails I still have not had the $40 refunded, DON'T USE this establishment! I will be reporting them for fraud but it will be a long process.... just go somewhere else is my advice for better food plus not to be ripped off

A highlight of our NYC weekend. For years, we wanted to visit Patsy's. It had been recommended by family who had been repeat customers on trips to NYC. We were fans of Billions and loved the episode at Patsy's featuring third generation owner and chef Sal Scognamillo. Our experience exceeded all expectations. The food was fabulous across the board. We would have returned just for the food alone. The entire Patsy's team including Chef Scognamillo made us feel like valued guests. It was a blast and something we will never forget. Don't miss an evening at a true Italian American classic.

My wife, myself and brother were at Patsy's september 2025 for dinner. We got their earlier than expected which they accomadated us without waiting. The food, ambience and service was outstanding. The owner came over and spoke with us as he does with all his customers. He made us feel welcome. Its one of the best in the city. We will definitely be back.

Very nice food, atmosphere and service. Copious portions! Stuffed clams for a starter - delicious. Patsy’s pasta is heaven on a plate. And the Tiramisu certainly picked me up. If I could I would buy the restaurant!

Great family restaurant not in Times Square so not as crowded. Very personal experience service was very good . Dinner was done well and we did not waiting . I had linguine and Clam sauce, with chopped fresh clams . My wife had the veal rolitini with mushrooms. Both dishes were delicious. I would have preferred warm bread , but it’s not a deal breaker . We did not order drinks and had tiramisu for Desert that we shared . Stop by and say hello the owner walked up to our table to make ww we’re happy with our service and meal .

Excellent food & I was greeted like family. Chef Sal, whom I met 20 yrs ago, made me feel like an old friend. Wonderful atmosphere & great food. Highly recommend.

Terrible service. This restaurant dines out in reputation. When we left other guests said "it used to be great". We were celebrating my sisters 60th birthday. They didn't even mention it. When I asked why, they said you have to pay for that. I said pay to say "happy birthday " they said yes. Our waiter could not wait to leave and no one checked on us. Basically 3 women dining is not their priority. Avoid this restaurant for celebrations or women dining alone.

Had not been for a few years, but wanted some friends to know how wonderful this restaurant is!! It was easy to make a reservation, and we enjoyed the bread and all our entrées. My husband had stuffed calamari and felt it was the best he has ever had. My friend had fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and it was unbelievably amazing as she shared. I had an amazing dish with chicken, spinach and tortellini. We all enjoyed an appetizer of fried calamari. Chef Sal came and spoke to us after we ate. The only unfortunate thing was we are so full we could not eat dessert but next time we definitely will.

This place is such a gem. So cozy and the best authentic Italian food. Sal and his wife Lisa are the most kind, wonderful people who greet you and make you feel as if you’re in their home. All the food and wine was spectacular. The history with Frank Sinatra is fascinating. Don’t miss this place!

Dining here is like stepping back 100 years into a completely non pretentious, simply delicious taste of Italy. The staff were incredibly friendly and a joy to interact with. The chef was also attentive to the. needs of one in our group that is gluten free, and was accommodating with the menu. We loved it here and can’t wait to return.

Excellent food and service at an adequate price; it's still one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. Famous chef restaurants come and go, but Patsy's remains an icon.

My wife and I and our friends had dinner at Patsy's in NYC. Patsy's is a through back traditional Italian restaurant that has been in NYC for over 80 years and is still owned by the same family. It has a full bar and an extensive menu featuring soups, salads, pasta, seafood, chicken, veal and steaks. Service is friendly and efficient and the portions large. We began with appetizers of artichoke hearts oreganata and stuffed mushrooms. Both were very good. Entrees were the shrimp scampi over pasta, pasta puttanesca, fettuccine alfredo and stuffed veal rollatine. The pastas were cooked perfectly al dente and the sauce on each was flavorful and savory. We shared four desserts from their dessert cart and all were very good and homemade. If you are looking for a traditional dining experience with a through back to old NYC, give Patsy's a try.

Patsy's is an old school style Italian restaurant that is perfect for any occasion. The service is both professional and friendly, starting with the Host and continuing with the very knowledgeable waitstaff. The kitchen turns out authentic and delicious dishes. Chef Sal make a point of visiting the dining room to personally greet his customers. No wonder that this Sinatra's favorite place!

The whole experience was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and nice. We tried five different dishes and each one was delicious. We had an appetizer that was red pepper, cheese and fresh tomato. I don’t normally love tomatoes but this one was so crisp and flavorful, if they all taste like that it would change my mind on tomatoes. You literally can’t go wrong here. The portions are large but do yourself a favor and save room for the tiramisu, or the cheesecake.

If you are looking for wonderfully tasty, authentic Italian food with an amazing Chef and even more amazing history in New York City, then run, do not walk to Patsy’s on 56th. My absolute favorite menu item is Chef Sal’s lasagna and I recommend it to everyone, it’s so tasty. And as for the atmosphere, you will always get that warm and welcoming feeling while dining there. Chef Sal is so warm and I don’t believe he has ever met a stranger as all become family in his presence. I have traveled for many years and have had Italian in many cities and states and bar none, Patsy’s is superior in every way.

One cannot hope for a better dining experience. Patsy's on 56th Street offers authentic , tasty Italian food in generous portions which is enhanced by the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Molto bene !!!!

On a previous visit two years ago, we were impressed. This visit was nothing like the first. The staff upstairs were unfriendly and seemed not bothered about us, except one smiley waiter. The food wasn't up to previous visits. This is just our judgement. Such a shame as it is a well known establishment.

I had a great meal at Patsy's. The food was solid and the ambiance evoked a sense of nostalgia. Not to mention the staff was polite, friendly, and efficient. Chef Sal and his wife Lisa at the hostess stand are lovely people. They are the type to know your name by the end of your meal and remember it. Will be coming back! Definitely a must-try!!

This was, hands down, the best meal we had while in NYC. From the excellent service and recommendations from our server, to Sal himself checking in on us to make sure we were 100% happy with our meal and having the best experience. There were no crumbs left by the end of the night. Highly recommend the spaghetti and veal meatballs and the lasagna. We had every dessert they offered and my favorite were the cannolis. Absolute heaven!

I went here to meet up with my family, and the inside felt very luxurious and not New York City like. It had a great Italian vibe and the food was absolutely incredible (I got the Spaghetti w/ Meatballs)! The spaghetti was long and thin, and very filling. The Meatballs were very delicious also, and kind of meaty. Overall, it was a very tasty dish!

What a great dining experience! Along with the amazing Italian food, you are surrounded by history! Autographs cover the walls of hundreds of Hollywood legends going back to the Golden Age of Hollywood have dined here! You are treated like family no matter who you are! Every dish I ever ordered was spectacular

Eating dinner at Patsy’s when a relative in NZ messaged to say ‘if you’re still in NY, have dinner at Patsy’s’… serendipitous? Yes, and with good reason - an unbelievable experience, great food, tremendous staff and the owners Sal and Lisa were extremely hospitable; a great dining experience!

What an amazing, authentic experience we had at Patsy’s on Sunday afternoon. After a recommendation all the way from the Norfolk Broads in England, we made sure that we had our table booked before seeing the Lion King on Broadway (with it only being a 10/15 minute walk away). We arrived slightly early and were seated without delay. Patsy’s has such a warm and inviting atmosphere where Sal and his wife Lisa, as well as all the waiters, really make you feel part of the family. We can see how Patsy’s has been stood the test of time and has had so many famous returning guests over the years, most notably Frank Sinatra! The food tasted amazing and the portions were huge/had great value for money. The perfect comfort food after a long day of sightseeing. We will definitely be returning every time we are in New York and recommending Patsy’s to any of our friends and family who are visiting.

Food and service was great. Sal prepared two special desserts for my wife’s birthday. We loved the Family atmosphere that included all the pictures of celebrities who’ve eaten there.

Great food and the deserts were fantastic. Iconic New York Italian restaurant. Generations of my family have gone here and it was nice to be treated like family. You can’t go wrong at Patsy’s.

Went with my family and had a truly wonderful time, great food AND great staff. They've gained a lifelong customer!!!!!

Very accommodating hostess and wait staff. Excellent food and service. Would definitely return. And highly recommend.

We fancied an Italian and went for a walk. We came across this on maps and thought we would try and we managed to secure the last table. The service was great, atmosphere good and food delicious, only gripe is a little compact.

My favorite spot in all of NYC. After many years of living in NYC and trying so many Italian spots, there’s no place like Patsy’s. The manicotti is my favorite and the dessert cart is iconic.

6/10 4:30 pm. Made a reservation 2 weeks in advance yet there were tables available. House Malbec was good. Bread and "Bread Guy" were great! Eggplant Parm & Stuffed Pork Chop were fabulous. Cannoli Cream Cake fabulous. Adrian was our server and I highly recommend Adrian. Besides having perfect skills and superb room management Adrian's wit and sense of humor were delightful.

Patsy’s Italian Restaurant (don’t confuse it with the pizzeria) is a classic gem that has been passed down the generations within the family. Owner / chef Sal is greeting guests and is a treat, especially when you consider how many celebrities came before us to frequent the establishment. Not only does it have the vibe of a classic establishment, the food is authentic Italian as well. Make sure you ask for their off-menu specials - they’re delicious and, in one dish’s case, very unique too. With the wine flowing and good company, we had a great time over dinner. And to cap it all off, we were able to get our own picture with Sal too! While it won’t get to go up on his wall, we’ll remember our visit for sure.

Been here several times and the food and service are always top notch. There were 4 of us so everyone got something different and we all enjoyed. The water was extremely pleasant to us but especially with the two 11 year olds we had with us. Wish I could remember his name but if it helps we were there on Sat 12/13 at 6pm and were seated upstairs. I only get to tje city A couple times a year but everyone always Wants to eat here

Patsy's is the place to go for a great lunch or great dinner. The servers are friendly, personable and at times comedic.Something you need to break the ice. Been going there since 2013 and everytime I go it gets better and better. Sal is so hands on. Not only does he cook but he makes sure he greets every table with a hello, how are you and is everything okay? I've met people there and we end up being facebook friends. Enjoy the calamari, chicken marsala, veal francese, eggplant rollatini, tiramisu, cannolis. Everything!!!7

I absolutely LOVE Patsy's. It's always been our go to Italian. Best food and the cocktails/sublime! So much history to learn, and so many memories to create!

Type in best Italian in manhattan and up pops Patsy’s. It does not disappoint. Fabulous food , puttanesca pasta was delicious , eggplant parmigiana superb , ricotta cheesecake , light but still decadent. Great service , friendly, professional and welcoming . It was our first visit but we will definitely be back

Patsy's is dying breed, even in NYC. Privately/family owned and operated. The food is fresh and the service is attentive. Go check it out-the walls are filled with celebrity pictures. It was a favorite of Sinatra's. It had been years since we had gone, and that's a mistake. We are going to keep it in our regular rotation when we visit NYC.

Another Outstanding Experience At Patsy’s on West 56th Street. From the warm greeting to the superb food and service, I agree with the many regulars who frequent this historic establishment. Reservations are recommended for pre theater dining.

Great time ! Excellent food! Very good service ! Perfect location ! A few year I wasn’t able to come . The food is still so good . Enjoying looking at the pictures of all this famous people stopping by . Love to hear the story for now and then from the Owner/chef

This place is fantastic. Best Veal Chop in my life! Service is phenominal, Sal, the 3rd generation owner, who works in the kitchen, came out to say hi and chat. You don't get much more authentic New York than that, and I just got here for the first time, so I know what I'm talking about- plus I've seen movies. (I'll have what she's having). Anyway, every morsel of food shows the love this man has for his customers. You feel like you are at an Italian family gathering somewhere out of one of those movies I saw- really! This place has history out the wazoo, but it also delivers with a 5 star dining experience. The topper was the Tiramisu- BEST EVER! I'm not kidding (my wife's favorite dessert- we have had it everywhere). I cannot praise this restaurant highly enough or recommend it more strongly- if you are in New York and if you want Italian, or even if you want Chinese, fugedaboutit- Get to Patsy's!

This place is a classic in NYC and was known as a favorite of Frank Sinatra. The walls are covered with pictures of stars from these golden years.... The staff was also very nice ... BUT a restaurant is not a museum and the most important thing remains the food... and on that front, what a deception!! We were 5 people and tried quite a few things on the menu. Nothing went beyond average and some of the dishes were barely edible. One of us had an old fashioned which would have given Frank a hiccup: barely tasted anything with a bright and red shiny color. Wines by the glass were also a major let down. On the food side, the veal was hard to chew, the salad looked like out of a supermarket pre-shredded bag and the pastas were OK but not homemade. The chef/owner spends the night taking selfies and talking with some of the patrons who clearly enjoy being part of the "history" of the place. One of the most disappointing dining experience I have ever had in NYC

Absolutely loved Patsy’s! Food, service and atmosphere were fantastic. Exactly what you hope for in a classic, legendary Italian restaurant. Still owned and operated by Patsy’s family - I felt at home.

Great place. Menu is huge as is the portions. You can really tell it’s a family place with more locals than tourist. Prices are more than fair.

Patsy’s hasn’t really changed in decades, and that’s the reason I gave them 4 stars, not 5. The food was quite good, as was the service. That said, the menu, especially the desserts were a bit uninspired. The primary challenge, however, is the restaurant itself. After decades of service, it needs to be freshened up a bit. The terrazzo floors and stairs need some attention. While it’s fine “as is,” it’s got a 1970’s feel!

We had a wonderful evening at Patsy’s Restaurant in New York! This place is full of history — it wasn’t just somewhere Frank Sinatra visited once, it was truly his spot. He had his own room and even his own entrance, and you can still order his favorite dishes today. The food was delicious, classic Italian and full of flavor. The atmosphere feels warm and authentic, just like stepping back into Old New York. The highlight of our evening was meeting Sal, the owner, who personally came to our table. He’s such a kind and welcoming man, and he shared amazing stories about Sinatra and his family’s close connection to Patsy’s. This restaurant is still family-run after generations, and you can really feel that heart and tradition in every detail. If you want authentic Italian food while following in Sinatra’s footsteps, Patsy’s is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Sal, for such a memorable night!

I loved the pictures on the walls, establishing this NY family history with celebrities for decades. The owner, Sal, came up to me as I was looking at the deserts. We enjoyed telling stories about our acquaintance with the one and only Frank Sinatra. I rarely indulge, but I was quite interested in the Canolli cake. Yum! It was worth the calories! My husband ordered the Penne with Vodka Sauce... delicious! I would have liked my Manicotti to have more ricotta and less of the other cheeses, but that's my preference. The wine selection was good and well priced. The staff was courteous and attentive. The waiters wore vests to go with the classy old school vibe. It would have been nice to have soft Rat Pack music with the lights lowered just a bit for a more romantic vibe, but again, that's my preference. It was a very enjoyable evening of NY hospitality at its finest.

Patsy’s isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an experience, a memory, and a slice of Italian-American history served with a smile and a generous helping of hospitality. From the moment we walked in for lunch, we were treated like longtime regulars. The service was impeccable — warm, welcoming, and genuinely joyful. Sal himself greeted us, gave us a personal tour of the famous Frank Sinatra room (yes, that Frank), and even posed for a photo. Surrounded by walls lined with celebrity photos, we felt part of something truly special. The food? Outstanding. The calamari was perfectly crisp and served with a sauce so rich and flavorful it could stand alone. I ordered the Italian sausage and peppers — it was heaven on a plate. My husband devoured his tortellini, and our sons, both 21 and old souls at heart, were in foodie bliss. One had Sal’s Special (chicken parm and tortellini — gone in minutes), and our picky eater found his perfect match in the salmon with mustard sauce. Not only did he finish it all, he “sampled” my sausage too! To top it all off, we were treated to a complimentary tiramisu that was as delightful as everything else. The prices were shockingly reasonable, especially for Midtown Manhattan. Patsy’s is now officially a forever stop anytime we’re in New York City. It’s not just the food — it’s the feeling. The love. The history. The kind of place where you walk in a stranger and leave full — in every way.

Patsys never disappoints and has been top-notch for decades. On a very cold December night we enjoyed the lasagna special which Chef Sal makes himself and an order of stuffed zucchini blossoms that were perfection. A bottle of Malbec to wash it all down followers by homemade desserts. Chef Sal is checking the front of the house as well as the kitchen and we were thrilled to take a pic with him. Patsys has the history as we all know and is, still, an outstanding Neapolitan red-sauce restaurant where you are treated like home. Dont miss it.

Had an amazing lunch at Patsy’s Italian Restaurant with friends. As a huge Sopranos fan, it was awesome to be in a spot that so many of the actors actually visited. The food was classic and delicious—real old-school Italian. The chef was incredibly kind and even took a picture with us, which made the experience even more special. If you’re in NYC and love Italian food (or The Sopranos), this place is a must!

My wife and I came to Patsy‘s because we heard the food was legendary. When we arrived immediately, we felt welcomed like we were at home. The waiter Danny was wonderful at his responsibilities and made us feel very important. The owner Sal himself came, sat with us, gave us history of the restaurant And shared with his personal experiences, including with Frank Sinatra. We both ordered fettuccine Alfredo, which for us was the best we’ve ever had. We would recommend this restaurant to anyone and personally take our most beloved family there we hope that this restaurant continues to be an experience for all those who love excellent Italian food!

Outstanding food, incredible hospitality. Famous for good reason. Sinatra's personal favorite in New York City. Try the stuffed calamari.

Owner is the man. He gave us a private tour and talked to us for awhile. Great food and a family feel. My favorite restaurant in the city.

Lovely place food exellant lovely staff service exallent friendly happy atmosphere would recomend for realy good pasta

We went tonight for the first time and had the most wonderful meal and experience. My husband had always wanted to go and I was also eager for some delicious food but I had no idea the kindness and care I would receive from the family who make Patsy’s run. I want to go back simply to hug them. They make you feel special and truly cared about, you feel that they truly want to make sure you enjoy every bite. And you do! The food is delicious. My 8 year old housed the chicken francese and every morsel on the plate. Which is usually a good thing, except they were so delicious and I couldn’t steal any! They were our favorite dish I think. The fettuccine was unmistakenly homemade in the BEST WAY. It was decedent and delicious without being overly rich and heavy. The tiramisu was UNBELIEVABLE. I truly can not recommend going with any more enthusiasm. The chef is not only talented but also such a kind soul. When you get to meet him it’s hard to remember to let him get back into the kitchen because you just want to hear him discuss food, family, andnPatsy’s history. Once he is in the kitchen though even more magic happens. You will be so glad you went and will leave feeling full in your belly and heart. But when you go, please make sure to hug Lisa for me!

Ahhh, Patsy’s if only they were located in the Milwaukee area I would be a regular customer. I was most fortunate to dine there with a friend of mine. The whole dinner experience was one I will never forget, from the top notch waitstaff, from someone from the Scognamillo family greeting us on return & leaving & of course the most the food, oh the food was amazing. We both opted for the Veal Marsala which we were not disappointed at all. Every bite was like a piece of love entering my mouth. I want to thank everyone at Patsy’s who made our dining experience I will never forget. If you plan on escaping to NYC, make sure to visit Patsy’s, it was more than what I expected. Just fabulous!

Patsys leaves us speechless with the fullest bellies and hearts! We were in NYC to celebrate our anniversary and was recommended to go to Patsys Italian Restaurant! It did not disappoint! The food was soooo delicious and the vibe was steller…but more than that everyone from the waiter staff to Sal the owner was over the top wonderful! Sal personally came to meet us and gave us the behind the scenes story behind his legacy restaurant and family. It was beautiful to hear how connected he is to his family & food and it shines through in his dishes! We ordered the Sal special and in the end we had tiramisu and cannoli cake and again left speechless! Thank you to the friends and family at Patsys for the wonderful memory of eating there for our anniversary! Ciao!

I recently traveled to NYC from RI with family. I wanted to eat somewhere that would have good Italian food, so we chose Patsy's. It did not disappoint. The food was excellent, and their sauce is delicious. The prices were also very decent for NYC. The restaurant is clean and well kept. The owner came out and thanked us for coming, which was nice.

The Spaghetti and Meatballs were AMAZING! Of course Sal the owner is the consummate host, still greeting every table. If you are looking for an Italian restaurant in NY, you have to stop and see Sal!

It was truly an amazing experience of old school nostalgia and an immersive meal with all the taste and caliber you would expect from a restaurant that has been around since 1944. The family of four sought out Patsy’s based on reviews and friend’s suggestion; it did not disappoint, but exceeded expectations. Each of us ordered some different, from spaghetti with sauce, manicotti, and chicken marsala. I was so impressed that I chatted with the chef and owner and loved the inspiration and story behind the menu. This is a definite MUST stop on any trip near NYC.

Visited whilst staying in New York. I was really looking forward to having some great Italian food and looking at Patsys reviews it seemed like the place. I found the whole experience pretty average and would not return. The restaurant was fairly empty on Friday night which was not a good sign. I would imagine 20-30 years ago this place was great but times have changed and the restaurant hasn’t.

We stumbled on this place while walking back to our lodging. What an experience. Place was jammed at 8:00. We were lucky to get seated with no reservation. Authentic Italian restaurant with authentic Italian servers. Food was delicious - we took dessert back to the hotel for another day. Got to meet the chef/owner. Loved it

Excellent restaurant, fantastic food and service. The owners comes round personally to check everything is alright and spends time chatting with customers. Highly recommend the trio of ravioli it was delicious and my husband had chicken Parmesano which he said was delicious. The portion sizes were large extremely good value for money.

Patsy’s never disappoints! My husband and I eat here at least once every time we visit NYC. It is truly our favorite restaurant and the food is amazing. Sal and his wife are the kindest people you will ever meet! They easily accommodate my gluten allergy and couldn’t be more understanding! Be sure to make your reservation at Patsy’s when you visit the city!

Cozy place. Excellent food with good cost benefit And the chef is a separate attraction: extreme kindness, sympathy and very attentive.

I was going to Carnegie Hall that night and made a reservation for dinner and decide on Pasty’s Italian Restaurant where I had eaten eight years earlier. It was funny because I wanted a similar meal. I started with the Mozzarella Corrosa, which is like a mozzarella grilled cheese served with a red sauce on the side. The two pieces were a little large but perfect for me, who was starved. They were pan fried until golden brown and enhanced with the red sauce. For the entree, it was a real feast. I had the lobster with linguini, which looks like two entrees when served. It was different from the last time I had it. Some of the lobster was pan- fried and served on top of a linguini with a light red sauce. The second part of the entree was a complete lobster served in its shell topped with buttery bread crumbs. There was loads of sweet lobster to pull out and mix with the pasta of just eat on its own. It was pricey at $95.00 but everyone if you like lobster, go for it. I had not enjoyed a lobster more and there was just shells left when I was done. The waiter could not believe I wanted dessert once I was done but I finished with a piece of Napoleon cake from the dessert cart with hot tea for dessert. That was delicious and light. Layers of pastry with cream in the center. I was a giant Napoleon without the chocolate topping. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The food and the service were wonderful and the perfect pre-Christmas meal.

Got there and told maitre d we had a reservation for 4 and were waiting for the other couple. Asked if we could be seated and order some wine. The table was ready, but told no, that we had to wait at the bar? Okay! Went to bar and ordered 2 glasses of Cabernet. Wine is warm and taste is off. Finally seated and we all order different glasses of wine. We all agree that this wine also tastes poor and is warm. Place is crowded and noisy and not enough competent help. "Cold" bread comes out in a steal basket that doesn't even have a napkin in the bottom. This is a $50-100 per person restaurant that we're quickly getting embarrassed that we brought the other couple to before a Broadway show. We order 2 Caesar salads to split. The salad is sooo salty I can't even eat it. How can you ruin a Caesar salad. We order the soup of the day, pasta fagioli and a fried mozzarella. My date eats about 6 spoonfuls of soup and says it's terrible and barely warm. The fried mozzarella is the size of a slice of bread, covered with bread crumbs, deep fried and then cut in half. We all stare at it, he trys it and pushes it aside laughingly. We order 2 entrees. Mine is the Chef Sal's combo. The chicken parmigiana is thick, tough and barely warm. The tortellini is room temperature, plain and virtually tasteless. The other pasta dish is basically the same quality and temperature. We decide to drink up and get out of there once we can get the waiter to service us. Two of us find a serious amount of sediment in our glasses as we try and finish the wine. The perfect ending to a horrible experience. Only, then we get the bill. 7 glasses of wine, 2 Caesar salads, 1 soup, 1 appetizer and 2 entrees... $300 ! Frank is turning over in his grave, What Happened to Patsy's!!!!!!!!!

A NY institution, but could do with a bit of an update. Traditional Italian fare. Wine list is detailed for Italian wines, but no detail for anything else, i.e. no brand or year. Friendly, efficient waiters and owners. Expensive for what is served.

Excellent food, fabulous cocktails, friendly wait staff and great atmosphere. This place is legendary with so many celebrities gracing these tables throughout the years, so you never know who may be sitting next to you while dining. One of the best Italian restraints in all of NYC.

Had a reservation, walked past empty tables on the lower level and told to take the steps upstairs. A waiter sat us at a table, with no menus and no water. After about 10 minutes after several other waiters walked right by us without a word, finally one plops down two waters. After another 5 minutes a waiter drops off water and a bread basket, but no bread plates. Finally, a waiter drops off 2 menus which look like they were printed and laminated 40 years ago. We finally catch our waiters attention and he gets us bread plates and we order. No explanation of the menu and no specials. We order manicotti and chicken piccata, and he leaves without asking if we want appetizers or any sides. The food was just ok, not horrible but no better than Olive Garden. We flag down our waiter to get our check, which he brings without offering desert or questioning why we left half the food on our plates. I have no doubt that this was a great place 50 years ago, but it is no longer. I’d advise you to find someplace else.

Patsy’s an institution. The food is delicious and authentic. Sal the chef and his wife Lisa are welcoming and lovely. Had a wonderful time, as I always do there.

So my wife and I were drawn to Patsy because I am a huge fan of Frank Sintra , real Italian cuisine and the story of the Bat Boy ( Roy Negron) ....who happen to be in the restaurant that night . Sal and Mr. Negron were so gracious to speak with us and share the story of the meeting of Mr. Negron and Frank and give us a tour. We just want to say thank from the bottom of our hearts to Sal and Lisa and our server Antione and a special thank also to Mr. Negron for taking the time out of his evening and for the most amazing and professional and sweet experience. We were treated like family and just was an honor to be able to step into such an amazing legacy and tour that Sal and sweet wife gave us . They have amazing consistent quality Italian food ;thank you so much again and I would highly recommend the experience . Nathaniel and Tia Salas Your new chef friends from Alaska

My experience was excellent--the waiter was pleasant, helpful and patient, providing tips for menu selection. Learning about the history of the restaurant from the original owner's grandson made our time there even more special. What a rich legacy! I would definitely return.

Waaay Overrated. We should have know when we went in for lunch on a Friday at 12:30 and we were the only people there. The bread was fine, the lentil soup was good, but the spaghetti and meatballs were meh. Bland sauce and the 3 medium size meatballs were bad.

I had the pleasure of eating at Patsys twice this week. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s a whole experience. You go there and you’re family. Great service, great food, great ambiance. And of course the BEST host/chef/owner Sal, a warm, effusive and wonderful man. We will be back soon! 5/5 stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We visited this family owned for 4 generations Italian restaurant t and it did not disappoint. The shrimp Scampi and Penne Vodka sauce was amazing. Come support the little small business in the middle of the corporate giants of the world. Owner and Chef came out and spoke to us super friendly

Best rigatoni I’ve ever had! Calamari was super fresh. Staff was friendly and professional, as was the owners. Cannot recommend Patsy’s enough. Will definitely be returning!

As usual, Patsy’s didn’t disappoint. With their high quality, delicious meals, not to mention the large size. I make it a point to visit there when I’m in the city, try it and you won’t be disappointed. Sal and his staff treats you like family. Go as far as buying a cookbook, great recipes for foodies. At my recent visit, I chose shrimp scampi, better than at any seafood restaurant that I have patronized. Of course, a calamari appetizer with their marinara made it a great night.

This was our last dinner in NYC for my week-long business trip. My husband I had a lovely time. The servers were welcoming and fantastic - we almost felt like family. The food was delicious. It was a fitting end to a week of good food . In my book, they were the best!

We ADORE Patsy's! Whenever we head to NYC, a trip to Patsy's is incuded. We have 2 of Sal's cookbooks and use his recipes frequently for parties and for our own special nights! Patsy's is old-school Italian. This Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett, both of whom frequented the place. Whether you want their most famous Spaghetti and Meatbells, a tender filet, Chicken Piccata, Veal Parmigiana, the fish of the day, AND amazing desserts, your meal will be memorable! There's also a wonderful wine list! When we were there in January, Ben Stiller was there to film a documentary about his parents, who LOVED Patsy's! along with our favorite singer, Ann Hampton Callaway!

Went to Patsy‘s for our 40th wedding anniversary. We were seated at a great table by the maître D .. THE server was very knowledgeable and took exceptional care of us. The owner cell came out of the kitchen to greet us and took a picture with us. We eat at a lot of Italian restaurants the food was above and beyond while speaking with Sal he told us he had just celebrated his 35th wedding anniversary and that the maître D was his wife Patsy has a great family vibe and authentic Italian atmosphere. I recommend everyone that goes to New York Times Square to try it. The prices were great, and the portions were amazing. We could not finish. We packed up the rest to take home.

Patsy’s was a great experience ! Besides the food being amazing, Sal was very welcoming. He stoped by our table shortly after being sat and introduced himself. Not often is the owner there to welcome their guests, answer any menu questions you have and to give recommendations. He showed us the “Sinatra room” and shared his stories of Sinatra also. He had many introducing stories !!! Our waiter, Eto was also exceptional . Attentive but not hovering. Perfected the timing of our meals after we decided to go upstairs to see the Sinatra room with Sal. Can’t wait for our next visit!!!!

Nice little piece of Italy in Manhattan. Very friendly and fast service, very good food. House wine is good, Spaghetti meatballs taste fantastic! It’s been there for decades, and there’s a reason for it - recommendation!

you have to go to patsy's when you're in new york,we were only in ny for a week and went twice,it was that good.we had to share a main course the second time as the portions are that generous.the food was delicious and the staff are very attentive and a pleasure to talk to as was the owner Sal who came out from the kitchen to check on everyones meals and chat with the customers.a favourite haunt of frank sinatra and now me.we'll be back for sure

We came in today from Boston and just had to eat at the notorious Patsy's! Thank you, Chef Sal, for the outstanding meal and accommodating my special dinner request. Emir, our waiter was amazing and very sweet. Lisa, the hostess, took time to tell us who a lot of the celebrity photos on the wall were and gave us a little history of this lovely restaurant and the Scognamillo family. A must stop when you're in the area. You won't be disappointed.

OUTSTANDING! after all these years, still the best. Loved the food, service and ambiance. Traditional dishes served in a elegant white tablecloth setting. Service is top notch. I highly recommend all dishes, but the eggplant parm was amazing. All our guests loved there dishes and raved.

OMG! This is an absolute must when you’re hungry for the BEST Italian food on the planet! The ambiance is very comfy and welcoming. The staff is top-notch and the food….I can’t say enough how delicious it is! And Chef Sal made sure everything was to our liking. I’m from AZ and I’ll go back again and again and again when I’m in the city. Grazie mille for the wonderful hospitality!

My wife and I stopped at Patsy’s for lunch and Sal, the staff, environment, and especially the food could not have been better. Sal, the owner/chef, made it a point to visit with every table and make sure everyone was satisfied and if there was anything else he could do for them. His attention to detail and taste of his dishes are second to none! Anytime we’re in New York, we’ll definitely make it a point to stop in, see Sal and enjoy a culinary treat!

When visiting NYC, Patsy's is a must stop for lunch or dinner. Robust menu for all ages and all the food is homemade! You won't find that in or around Times Square. So do yourself a favor, take the short walk and visit Patsy's, it's impossible to be disappointed.

We ate a wonderful dinner at Patsy's before attending a concert at nearby Carnegie Hall. Even at that early hour on a Tuesday, both floors were largely full of (seemingly very happy) diners. And while the throwback atmosphere was great, the meal was even better: We can attest that the stuffed calamari and the stuffed cannelloni leave the patrons stuffed as well. Service was attentive without being intrusive, and prices were pretty reasonable by NYC standards. The chef/owner came by our table to chat -- following in the footsteps of his grandfather and father, he's only the third chef at Patsy's since its 1943 founding. We thank him for a fun and delicious experience.

I had heard about Patsy’s for over 20 years but had never been to NYC until mid-May 2025. My family and I made eating here a priority during our visit, and we were blown away by the experience! Very friendly staff, a great, old-school atmosphere, and the BEST Italian I had EVER had (and I’m the grandson of a Sicilian)! The chef and owner, Sal Scognamillo was very gracious toward us and even took time to tell a couple of stories about Frank Sinatra, who helped make Patsy’s famous shortly after it opened. I cannot WAIT to revisit on our next trip. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE SAUSAGE AND PEPPERS!!!

i was treated with warmth and kindness on top of having some of the best italian food i’ve ever had. thank you everyone!! i really really enjoyed the fettuccine alfredo and the cannoli filling cake. :)

Absolutely Fabulous!! The meal was as good as any we had in Italy and our server, Adriano was terrific and made dinner a lot of fun! I would highly recommend!

Great spot after a show! Highly recommend with Sinatra saturdays if you’re lucky enough to snag a reservation. Request to sit in the Sinatra room and they will do their best, but no promises!

The shrimp scampi was the best I ever had and the chicken parm is amazing!! All the food is top notch and the service is professional and impeccable! I rate the whole experience 10 out of 10!

Somebody shine the spotlight on Patsy’s! From the entrance to exit, our dining experience was perfect at Patsy’s. The wait staff were perfect gentlemen and had all the charm. Sal, the owner, was wonderful with all the story of days gone by that truly brought you back to where you really are dining…in the history of the stars. The hostesses were so sweet and accommodating as well. And let’s not forget the food! We ordered a full course, the artichoke appetizer, arugula salad, veal Parmesan and THE BEST TIRAMISU seriously ever. Perfect. Make Patsy’s a part of your NYC trip 🍷❤️ Sure to be a time to remember. 🤗 Thank you, Patsy’s!

Family owned, and a legacy fit for kings, Patsy's Italian Restaurant is the premium Times Square Italian American experience. If you are seeing a show, and want the true NYC experience, Patsy's is where to go. You won't find better customer service than here as well.

Finally made my first trip to Patsy’s after years in the making and It was well worth it. The food was absolutely amazing. The lasagna was absolutely delicious, the calamari was fresh as can be and the desert was beyond satisfying. The staff was super professional and the ambience was better than expected ! To top it off, Sal S., the owner even stopped by to welcome my party to his wonderful restaurant I felt like I was at home with the hospitality. If you are in the area make sure to head over to Patsy’s @236 W. 56th Street, NY, NY.

This is the second time I have been here and the food was just as good as I remember. I do not live in NYC so I do not have the ability to eat here often but I cant wait to go again. My nephew said they were the best ravioli he ever had and I love the meatballs. They have a dress code but when I called for the reservation and told the person we would be coming from the Yankees game and he told is it would not be an issue and it wasnt. Great service also. Food come out quick and hot

Patsy’s is a treasured landmark with the ultimate host Sal & his beautiful wife Lisa. The food is like NO OTHER & truly you feel like you are eating dishes that your Nonna or Nonno made. The staff are so professional and warm, and go out of their way for the guest. When you go to Patsy’s you may come as a stranger but leave as a friend. If you are a Frank Sinatra fan you must see the homage paid to ‘Ole Blue Eyes in the upstairs dinning room. Frank was a regular and friend to Patsy’s. I cannot stress this enough, IF you come to NYC & don’t have a meal here ~ you haven’t experienced REAL ITALIAN FOOD & truly haven’t seen NYC’s finest !!!!!

Incredible Gastronomic Experience on all levels Sal leaves no stone unturned I’m a regular customer and Patsys is my go to for the past 50 years !!!! and will be my go to for the next 50 years!!!! I never miss a visit when I’m here in the city !!!!!

Don't visit this restaurant if you are expecting a modern and upscale atmosphere. What you will get is dated decor and a place that oozes NYC history. The food was delicious and we enjoyed everything we ordered (skip the carrot cake, though). The service was efficient but also relaxed. If you are making reservations, ask for a table on the main floor. It is a nicer atmosphere than being upstairs.

I came all the way from North Carolina just to celebrate my birthday in New York, and it was unforgettable! The team went above and beyond to make the night special. They surprised me with a delicious tiramisu and even sang happy birthday. The highlight, though, was Chef Sal’s cod fish. Truly the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked, flavorful, and memorable. If you’re looking for a place that makes you feel celebrated while serving incredible food, this is it. Highly recommend!

The food was amazing and outstanding especially the Spaghetti meatballs and Tiramisu. All prices are very reasonable and The Chef, Sal is very friendly overall Amazing experience and the best restaurant in NYC. 5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

Lifelong Italian restaurant, with typical waiters from Campesano and willing to thank you. Refrain if you are a Lord inglés. The food is battle but abundant, at the average price of the city. We asked for a little parmigiana corrientita, some spaghetti with meatballs and a variety of ravioli that were left to eat. The night we went, he was full of people, so he's successful, even if he doesn't cry with emotion.

This restaurant is undoubtedly one of the best places in NYC! The perfect combination of great ambience and atmosphere, outstanding service , great food and great pricing ! I enjoyed the rigatoni cacciatore, and my spouse the chicken piccata- I cannot recommend it enough !

Patsy’s on W. 56th is a must! Sal’s warmth, amazing staff, food and rich history make every visit unforgettable. A true NYC gem !! Jon -SF Bay Area

I have been coming here for over 20 years and the food and the staff are wonderful. Best Italian meal in NYC. Went to see Sunset Blvd and they were able to get us in and out in time to make the show. Sal is the chef and he personally greets everyone that comes in. If you’ve never been, try it. You won’t be disappointed!

We went to lunch on a Sunday at this NY restaurant. It was not full and the service was excellent. We ordered the menu with entry salad, main dish and dessert. It was all very tasty, especially for tiramisu.

The warm, classic Italian atmosphere instantly makes you feel at home. The service is top-notch—friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations. The meatballs are the undisputed star—juicy, flavorful, and simply the best I’ve ever had. The Veal Parmigiana and lasagna are also incredible, bursting with authentic Italian flavors and made with fresh ingredients. Paired with a great wine selection, every bite is perfection. Patsy’s is a gem that never disappoints. A must-visit for locals and tourists alike—I’m already looking forward to my next meal!

Patsy’s has been a favorite for my family and I ever since we found out about this gem of a restaurant. It’s a very welcoming and traditional Italian restaurant, where you are treated with warmth and kindness from the moment you walk in. Everyone makes you feel like you are back home. Anything you order is delicious, and I only suggest ordering everything. The Chef, Sal, ensures to come greet every table and is the sweetest soul. There’s a bit of nostalgia with the cozy joint and warm homemade food. Many well known celebrities and thought leaders would say the same, as you will see they have photos with Sal on the walls. Sal was kind enough to sign my cookbooks, and after speaking learned I’ve had a couple clients join them in the past. I’ll always go back to Patsy’s whenever I’m in NYC, I only wish they would expand to other locations. Go and enjoy!

My husband and I went to Patsy's for a pre-theatre dinner in celebration of our 45th anniversary. I chose Patsy's because I had learned it was Frank Sinatra's favorite Italian restaurant in NYC -- I was looking for an iconic NY experience. Patsy's exceeded all expectations! Not only was the food beyond delicious, (the lasagna and tiramisu were to die for!) but the ambiance was so welcoming that I felt like I was at a family dinner. Indeed, "Patsy" Scognamillo started the restaurant in 1944 and his grandson, Sal, continues the tradition with pride and professionalism. Sal's beautiful wife greeted us at the door and Sal, himself, roamed the room to make sure his guests were well-fed and cared for. Stopping at our table, Sal offered to show us the back stairway where Frank Sinatra used to enter to dine upstairs. And I highly recommend getting a jar of Patsy's special tomato sauce to take home! So glad to hear that Sal's son will someday be the fourth generation to keep Patsy's door open. It's a NYC treasure and we'll be back!

Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more strongly. We didn’t have reservations on Fathers Day but they happily accommodated us. Chef Sal checked in during the meal which was fabulous. Service was excellent. The desserts are outstanding! The history and family tradition just added the feel of our NY Italian restaurant. The owners genuinely take an interest in their guests. Grateful for the experience!

I very rarely write reviews, but on this occasion I feel very much compelled. Wandering the streets of New York as an Australian tourist, I took a side street and was welcomed by Patsy's Neon sign. Drawn like a moth to the flame, I wandered over where my curiosity was increased by the plethora of Famous Faces displayed in the photos that line the walls. Most notable, Frank Sinatra. I was soon to discover, what Sinatra was to music, Patsy's is to food. In absolutely no way did it disappoint. I came in for a long lunch, like we did in the old days. Plenty of wine and food. And I felt genuinely welcomed, like an old friend (although this was my first visit). Sal and Lisa made me feel right at home. I loved the food that much I even purchased a cookbook which Sal very kindly signed. He gave his time to me, chatting about the restaurant trade and a few Sinatra stories. He is warm and genuine and with his fabulous wife Lisa, you feel more like you have been welcomed into a home and not just a restaurant. I truly miss places like these. A place where you feel so comfortable and at home and the food, service and company is right above par. If you put all the famous faces and the history aside, the food is amazing and the people really are the heart and soul. In my role as an airline pilot, I am privileged to travel the world and visit many restaurants. When in New York, Patsy's will be my home away from home.

Patsy’s has been a MUST GO every time I’m in NYC for years. The food is amazing, the atmosphere is perfect, and the Scognamillo Family are kind and gracious hosts. I love the food, I love the place, I love its history. If you’ve been serving great food since 1944, you must be doing something right.

I’ve been coming to Patsy’s for years, so this is less of a review than a defense of my friend, Sal, and his hard working staff. The recent review posted by “Pioneer36276923641” is patently absurd, particularly in its description of the service. Sal welcomes his regulars — and we are legion — like family, and first-timers like new friends. Anyone who knows him, knows that he is the friendliest, most gregarious, cheerful person on the planet, and constantly circulating the room, checking in with *every* table. I experience and witness this first hand whenever I visit, and that kind of hands-on hospitality was in full view when I dined there last night (3/27/25). To suggest otherwise, at ANY time, is ridiculous. I strongly believe that the “review” by Pioneer36276923641 is a phony one posted by a jealous competitor. Come to Patsy’s, be welcomed by Sal and his family, and judge for yourselves.

We had lunch at Patsy’s on Easter and it was truly memorable. As Italians, we can be picky about Italian-American food, but everything was absolutely delicious — authentic, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. Sal made the experience even more special, sharing wonderful stories about the history of the restaurant and his connection with Frank Sinatra. It felt less like a simple meal and more like being part of a living tradition. Highly recommended for anyone looking for real, heartfelt Italian-American cuisine.

What can I say that hasn't been said about this place. The food is traditional Italian done right & generous portions. Sal the owner/chef comes around and talks to his guests. His staff are professionals that understand service is everything...they get your meal out & entertain you at the same time. A pleasure to enjoy a meal at Patsy's!
Iconic Patsy’s
Patsy’s is the iconic Italian restaurant where Frank Sinatra frequented. Countless stars have visited Patsy’s over the past 80 years. Sal, the grandson of the original owner, can walk you down memory lane plus cook you an authentic Italian meal! I love this old school atmosphere. Don’t forget to try their mouth watering cannoli cake!
