After a busy day round the nearby museums this find was a nice surprise. Warm welcome and the food we had was great so would recommend this place if you're nearby.

We visited on a very chilly day in mid-February for a late lunch after strolling round the nearby Museum of Natural History. Reliant on reviews on Tripadvisor for a good restaurant near the museum, we lucked in. Walking in from the snow we were greeted warmly and shown to a table. Patsy’s has an amazing warm, friendly atmosphere with groups of all ages adding to its vibrancy. The food was fantastic – beautiful home-made pizzas and pasta which was wolfed down by all four of us. Service was very good too and I’d highly recommend a visit.

impossible to rate since i'm italian and what they serve here has no relation to any pizza i've ever encountered in italy. why not call the dishes here lo mein or sauerbraten?

Patsy's is a New York favorite and with good reason. The varied and reliable menu fits most tastes and the family style servings mean less leftovers when the kids are done. I've been here a few times and am a big fan of their thin crust pizzas. This time I ordered a pie with prosciutto and was a little surprised that the meat was simply layered on top of the pie after it came out of the oven. This made the meat hart to bite threw and did not infuse the taste into the pizza. None the less it was quite good. Service is efficient but as the restaurant emptied (we were there late) it became harder to find our waitress.

We were going to Lincoln Center and wanted a simple meal. Delicious Italian fresh food. Atmosphere warm and friendly. Place filled up with local families. We had the best fried eggplant and zucchini (lightly floured and not greasy at all) We had two glasses of wine, 1 appetizer, 2 pasta dishes with chicken, 2 coffees and shared dessert - bill was about $75. Everything we ate was very good and served hot and timely. Friendly staff.

Good but pricey for neighborhood pizza. We overheard another lady commenting on the price of a salad to the owner. Maybe they're pricing off what Patsy's is known for (great pizza) but they should still price it for what it is......a pizza. We had a nice dinner but I couldn't budge the feeling of feeling a little ripped off the next day.

Nice little pizza spot-friendly service and good for kids. Don't go for the wine and they only serve Pepsi products. Salad portions are huge! Be wary of ordering the family size-it's ginormous.

So JetBlue Runza promotion to deliver Patsy's pizza from New York to LAX, and I am super excited because I'll never forget the taste of home - that is - the taste of New York Pizza. LA cannot make New York Pizza if their life depended on it. So I stay up til midnight and, with lightning speed, I order the pizza before they run out. It's delivered the next day from LAX to my home. I take a bite, and there is no nostalgia. It's just regular pizza. It's okay. It's not home. I'm crushed. I eat it anyway cuz it doesn't suck.

Went in with my 2 friends and had no reservation on an early Sunday evening and were sat right away. Waitress was very nice and extremely helpful. We decided to get a 17" pie with mushroom and sausage and I must say this is probably the best pie I have ever had in Manhattan, Thin crust, Fresh mozz, crumbled sausage and fresh mushrooms with a big fresh basil leaf on each slice. Absolutely yummy. !! if your going to a show at The Beacon as was our case, or in the neighborhood for another reason, stop in for a pie that is well worth the stop. Be advised that this is a sit down restaurant and not your typical slice or pie joint that litters the streets of all boroughs in the city. Sit and eat as fresh from the oven is Always the best and not delivered where it will lose temperature....Bon Appetite. !!

We've had pizza from Patsy's many times over the years and thought of it as a dependable spot for tasty thin-crust pizza of consistent quality. Last week we had occasion to order two pies, each with two ingredients, to take out. The bill for the two pizzas, including tax, was $59.01. To us, that's a lot for pizza. The prices on the Yelp menu (so quite possibly elsewhere online) were significantly out-of-date; the basic price for a large plain pie is now $21, and toppings quickly add to that (example: sausage is $3.95, whole or half pie). With regret, we're taking this one off our list.

we were in luck - the owners daughter was helping out for a couple of weekends - very unpretencious - retro vibe - got busy tho it was early - ravioli great. wine good - had take away from 74th street week later - also good!

When we lived in Chelsea we had a Patsy's nearby, it closed and we were sad to see it go. Now on the UWS, we have one nearby again and LOVE the pizza and the chicken parm, the atmosphere and the service. very family friendly and the food is always top notch!

Stopped in for lunch had the individual Siciliana salad which was a meal in itself and the Romana salad along with a margherita pizza which we added Italian sausage and pepperoni. The toppings where very good. Staff was good nice wine list with by the glass offerings.

On July 4th, we visited the NY Historical Society for their celebrations and activities for children. The restaurant, Storico, was filled, so we took a walk a couple of blocks away to Patsy's. I'm so glad we did. We got there about 12:30 and were the first party. I was a little worried at first. Where was everyone? Within 10 minutes almost every table was taken, and the reasons why were obvious. Delicious margherita pizza, really good pepperoni pizza, and such good fettucine carbonara that my sister couldn't eat it all. We weren't rushed. The servers asked three times if we would like more water. At just the right times our waitress came over to ask if we wished anything else. You really couldn't ask for more out of a pizzeria. The dishes were a little high is price. The bathroom lacked seat covers and a working tissue roll fixture. Otherwise I would have given it five bullets.

On a rainy night the place was warm and cozy. We were welcomed and seated right away. Food was delicious and ready quickly. Wait staff was okay we ordered drinks and never got them had to ask for them to be taken off the bill. Overall dining experience was good.

Had a delicious meal here with my husband, when we walked in it was a busy atmosphere, cosy with holiday decorations. We had to wait slightly for a table but we didn't mind and all the food smelt lovely. We both had pasta dishes which were great. Staff were lovely despite the rude family behind us. Would eat again.

Visiting NY for the weekend, we were walking pretty much all day and stumbled across this pizza place. We asked if they sold piZza by the slice but hey didn't. Got a bit concerned with the price so we tried a 13" cheese pizza it was 18.00 and we ordered just water. They gave us each a roll that was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside, they gave us some oil dipping sauce and this was fantastic! Then our pizza came! It was so good! We had gray service we sat in the bar area. What a terrific place to kick back and rest your feet. The bathrooms could use some cleaning up more regularly. Definitely would try this again!

This pizza is very good hit out the oven. It is very over priced for what you get. I highly recommend other places tgat are much more affordable and look and taste better. This place was recommended to me but I am not recommending it for anyone else. Very over priced. Cold for the next day it taste awful.

We came here in a group of four after spending the day at the American Museum of Natural History because of great reviews we saw online. We were not disappointed. Every dish - pizza, salad and ravioli was really good. Service was on point as well.

Excellent pizza the service is always great Great location My favorite is the plain pie A must for travelers an New Yorkers alike

Saturday afternoon after a short walk in Central Park..had salad and Pizzas.. absolutely delighted with both quality and service..a must for all visiting NYC.. awesome

This is a great place to meet after the NY Marathon. Food was yummy, and the service was fast and friendly.

I absolutely love this pizza and eat here every time I go to NYC. In addition the ensalada Mixta is also delicious.

On my way to the Beacon Theatre we saw this restaurant. The prices were good for NYC. I had the chicken Piccata and my friend had the spinach ravioli, both dishes were very good! Great Service!! The manager was very attentive. We also had the black and white cake! DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will go back to this again!

If youre a nyc native or local, you know that Ptsys's on the 74th is the best pizza in the city, dare I say the world. The guys working here really know their stuff, they treat you like family, its more than a pizza place its full blown experience, do yourself a favor and visit Patsys.

We walked past and decided to have lunch, spontanious. We didn't regret it! My girlfriend had the Spaghetti Di Grano Duro Con I Vegetali, and I had the Lasagna Di Casa. In addition we ordered Fried Calamari. Both our main courses where excellent - the Lasagna came with a rich tomato sauce, which were delicious. 30 yrs ago I had an excellent Calamari in Marina de Massa e Carrara in Italy - since then nothing have come close.. until now! Patsy's fried calamari matched the one in Italy.. and with the tomato sauce you can't go wrong. Service as expected, friendly and non intrusive :-) Thanks for a good food experience.

Had a large pizza margherita. Excellent taste. Excellent. Unfortunately had to rush over to the Beacon Theatre for a show.

Solid, all-around, spacious crowd-pleaser: Patsy's had pleasant service, excellent pizza, plenty of space for families, and attractive pricing. You could be anywhere inside this Patsy's, which separates it from other UWS Italian-Pizza restaurants. We're happy we went. Here's the deets (Sun 08/21/2016): Small pizza (margherita), 18: excellent, delicious cheese, perfectly cooked crust with flavor and ideal thickness Organic salad, 11: good for two Chicken piccata, 19: good! "Black and White" mousse cake, 8: A rich choice for two or more Sangiovese Luiano, bottle, 38 TOTAL, 94

We, out of towners have eaten here twice as it is convenient to relatives and conducive to bringing small children. We had pizza and salad both times. The portions were large and well prepared. We also did not have to worry about disruptive 3 and 4 year old boys, as they were well accepted by the dining room crowd. The service was excellent and we'll go back

We went here because it was a convenient location.( 74th and Columbus ) . Just near where we were staying . Very nice . Good food . Pleasant service . Decent prices . Big crowd .

Enjoyed a late lunch at Patsy’s Pizzeria near The American Museum of Natural History in NYC. It was close to the museum, was in a residential area, had a casual, yet delicious & affordable lunch consisting of a chicken parmigian hero and a salad with grilled chicken. The staff was very friendly as well. Would recommend if you looking for a pizzeria near the museum or Central Park West.

I had dinner here tonight with a friend. The service was a bit slow (the waitress was not very attentive and spent time talking to other wait staff as the restaurant wasn't crowded). The salad mista was excellent, fresh and with a great vinaigrette. The pizza arrived warm, not hot. The sauce and crust were very good but it would have been better hotter. Overall, very good but not as excellent as I was hoping.

Came in for early lunch on Veterans Day Sunday. Crowded with young families, happily noisy, so we found a quieter spot at the bar. The waitress was charming and attentive, the pizza and Sicilian salad both very good and the portions large - we shared and still had leftovers.

We enjoyed a casual dinner here on our recent trip. Pizzas are 13 inch or 17 inch. We thought the 17 inch would be too much for 2 people, but apparently not, since we only left one piece! Price for the 17 inch with 2 generous toppings (olives and roasted peppers) was around $26, expensive for home, but not bad for New York. They had a limited selection of beers on tap, but they were ice cold and perfect with the pizza. Overall a good dinner that didn't break the bank!

We went here with the whole family and free water was served immediately. Service was great and the menu offered us various options. We had a pasta to share with 7 people and 2 big pizza’s. That was more than enough. Enjoyed it!

Writing as local, this Patsy’s location is completely mismanaged and not up to par with the other Patsy’s locations in the city. Service is TERRIBLE. My husband and I waited for an hour for our pizza while everyone around us was served. Mistakes happen, I get it. Unfortunately our server refused to acknowledge the situation. When we politely asked the manager for a partial discount to account for the long wait he completely blew up at us. Literally, this man was yelling at us in the middle of the restaurant for daring to ask for what we considered to be a reasonable accommodation for our inconvenience. Obviously we left. Don’t bother coming to this location if you are a visitor to the city, and PLEASE don’t assume this is how New Yorkers treat visitors. There are many other places to get delicious pizza in the neighborhood. They will be happy for your business. This location is not worth your time.

Had lunch here today and chose pizza which was amazing, very tasty and filling and freshly baked, we had a lovely water server, he was very friendly and courteous which cannot be said for the lady serving us, she definitely looked like she’d got out the bed on the wrong side!!!! Miserable is an understatement therefore spoilt our visit completely, that water server needs to get out of there and find a job in a more pleasant/happier atmosphere. Won’t be recommending this particular pizza restaurant.

We ate before going to see the Macy's balloons and enjoyed our meal. We had about at 40 minute wait due to the amount of people in the area for the balloons. It was well worth the wait.

Buns' perfect crust Pizza is a must Service was ok Good for what you pay After the museum For the family, Patsy 'em

Nice and quiet located, great place for family finner and serviceminded staff. Good pizza served with a smile.

I love Patsys pizza! It's delicious. I like this location with lots of seating. Service is just OK. Take out folks are kind of grumpy sometimes. My biggest problem is how expensive it is. $25 for a small pizza is a lot, but it is New York after all. Anyway I'd recommend this place.

Took my 3 italian visiting cousins to this establishment the other night. The vibe was cool people were enjoying themselves. We were seated by a wonderful hostess. The service was spot on ant the pizza is the best. We had a plain pie with just sauce and mozzarella it was delicious. Made this our go to spot

My boyfriend and I enjoyed an evening dinner of pizza here. The service was quick and pleasant. Pizza was standard- the type of thing you would expect!

We just had to try their Pizza. Mushroom, pepperoni and ricotta. The pie was large, huge slices. The pizza was good, not awesome. We will have to try other things on the menu.

What a great find! We were wanting pizza and Patsy’s makes a delicious pie! We were seated outside and our service was efficient and the food was fantastic!

Great pizza. Atmosphere is cool and the service was great. Prices are a little high conferring all of the pizza joints around, but it was good.

Stopped by Patsy's with a friend for a late dinner on Saturday night. Plenty of seats were available, restaurant was comfortably air conditioned despite the summer heat. We got a white pizza with sausage and mushrooms, and it was great. The 17 inch was more than enough for two hungry people, and we ended up taking home leftovers. They have a few draft beers, but a much bigger selection of wines than beers. Overall a delicious pizza dinner with good service.

Sometimes you just have to have the perfect pizza. Whenever I am around Central Park I try to stop by. The pizza has the perfect crust with a great crunch and flavor. Do yourself a favor and visit this spot. You will love it.

Tucked away quietly, this a great place for an evening snack. Everything is freshly made with a broad variety of choices for pizza toppings as well as other Italian dishes. Prices were terrific and a nice quiet place for friends to meet.

We arrived at 7pm on Saturday evening with no reservation, but were lucky to be seated straight away despite being very busy. The service was spot on for us - attentive but not over the top - and even a suggestion that we should order the smaller pizza for the kids to share. So, the pizza's weren't cheap for what they were - but they were delicious, served in a restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Great food and staff. Conveniently located within walking distance of Central Park West and The American Museum of Natural History. A nice place to have a meal in a safe area.

I've been wanting to try Patsy's for a few years since I moved to the neighborhood and finally did two weeks ago. There were families with crying children galore, pizza that was mediocre compared to other NYC joints, prices were a bit high, and the service was poor. Make the trip downtown and go to Arturo's on Houston Street, the best in Manhattan with their thin crispy crust and exceptional service. Or, if you're on the Upper West Side, go to Pappardella's on Columbus around the corner from Patsy's.

Solid and dependable Italian food. Fresh flavours but not fancy. A good place for a casual or family meal. Great Pizzas and bolognese.

We love pizza, its my husbands favorite food. Our goal in NYC to try the top pizza places in the city. So the crust was flavorful at Patsy's, but wasnt a huge fan of the mozzerella or sauce. Pepperoni was tasty. Its expensive, $27 for Large pepperoni pizza too. So based upon the taste and price, we didn't feel it was the best pizza place in NYC

This is a great casual restaurant just a few blocks from the Museum of Natural History, NY Historical Society and Strawberry Fields in Central Park. The food is served hot, very good and served quickly. You can order most popular Italian dishes or just a pizza. We had a very good dinner with a glas of wine without breaking the bank.

OMG.. you got to go! I almost don't want to write a review as it was THTA good and I am afraid we wont get a table next time. Best pizza ever. Ingredients. Texture. everything. Ambience lovely as well. Not expensive and somewhat hidden. Supposedly Frank Sinatra as favourite pizza- very clear why. We had chicken and salads as well which was great- but the pizza- unforgettable!!!!

Was here Monday @ 5pm. Had a waitress who barely spoke English and brown hair half up (hair medium length). She sat us down, failed to give us her name, and was already rushing us to take our food order. We had never been here before, so obviously we're going to have questions about the menu. She acted like it was an inconvenience to her because she didn't even seem to know the answers, not even to what the soup of the day. She even rolled her eyes at me and then went to congregate with her fellow co-workers to complain about us. We decided to leave and informed her that we we're leaving due to her rude customer service. With a smirk she responded, "Okay!" We will never come back to this location, again. This is coming from people who used to work in the restaurant business. It's unfortunate we never got a chance to try out the dishes.

We stopped in here one Friday evening after we arrived in NY by train. It was recommended by a friend that had eaten at Patsy's and she raved about it. It was busy but not packed and we were seated immediately. We ordered a meatball pizza. My wife really liked it, I felt it was ok. Crust was a bit soggy in the center and burned around the outer edge. Crust around the edge was a little thicker than I like, but there was a portion of the crust that had the perfect combination of chewy and crunchy, the sauce was very tasty and the meatballs were well seasoned, although I wish there was more on the pie for the $28/pie price tag. No free refills on soft drinks, lemonade or ice tea either was a bit of a bummer. The atmosphere was good, just what you'd expect for a NY pizza joint. Service was a little slow but not overly so. I'd eat here again if I had to but with so many other options, I would likely try a different place next time to see if I could find a better example of NY style pizza.

Good service. Clean restaurant. Great New York style pizza. Just around the corner from the NY Historical Society Museum.

This Italian is a handy few blocks from Central Park and the Natural History Museum. Pre or post visiting either you can find a very warm welcome in an up market place with a sensible budget. They do most dishes, including huge pizzas as dishes for 4-5 people on their menu plus decent beers and wine list. Really glad we bumped into this place. Made a change to have real food in NYC !

Dropped in for a late dinner on Saturday and went away fairly satisfied. Pepperoni pizza fair enough, but a bit too greasy for my liking. Rigatoni Bolognese very good. Couple of draught Stella's. Our waitress was good - friendly and helpful - but friends who go there regularly say that others can be pretty hostile. Probably not great value, but a decent meal

Father-Daughter lunch at a terrific restaurant. Pizza & cold drafts of Stella Artois for an hour and half of time so well spent together. Seated immediately without reservations at 2:00 in afternoon and place was full at 2:30. Large pizza with sausage, olives, onions, pepperoni and extra mozzarella. See photo of fine presentation. Prompt service and worthy of return trip

This restaurant has a lot of charm. It sounds funny but the building is the perfect embodiment of what I thought a New York restaurant would look like based on TV and movies lol. The pizza was really good and didn't take very long to cook. This was a great find!

One of the remaining locally owned and authentic, delicious Italian restaurants in the Upper West Side. I frequent this lovely and family-friendly restaurant for the best pizza and really any dish is savory and outstanding. When we order deliver, it's always exactly the same as if dining in the restaurant. If you have not tried this local favorite, I definitely encourage you to stop in. The prices are good, service is exemplary and food is so delicious. Mangia!

We discovered this place 8 years ago. Found it again on this visit. Great look inside, just what you’d expect of a local Italian restaurant. Great pizza and a good size.

Had a delicious Sunday lunch with family and was blown away by the pizza. The restaurant has a historic feel to it that immediately tells you this place is tried and true. We ordered three pies and easily polished them off. The service was great and the pizza was delicious. I can't wait to return!

I just stumbled upon this place after getting some levain cookies. I really enjoyed it. It's very comfortable inside, I was greeted right away and seated. Service was quick and friendly. My server was actually very nice and it made a difference. The pizza was just awesome, and they have Stella on tap. i enjoyed myself completely here and will be back for sure.

We visited with high hopes after reading so many positive reviews. I’m not sure if it was just an off day for them, but the crust was burnt, the middle was a soggy mess, and the whole thing generally lacked flavor. I don’t mind paying a good price for decent pizza...but this missed the mark.

We decided to get some real NY pizza and picked Patsy's. It was a great decision as we had a great pie with our granddaughter. Other patrons had other food items that looked just as awesome as the pizza. Should be a top pick for visitors wanting great greasy NY pizza.

You will wait forever for a sandwich even at 3pm on a weekday! Unless you look like a Tourist or are a couple you will be treated like crap and wait forever to get a simple panini. The waitress took my order, didn’t get my drink and starting texting on her phone for twenty minutes! She is from a foreign country and doesn’t realize this is NYCwhere people are very busy and and can’t wait twenty minutes to get a drink when the restaurant is totally dead. The sandwich had STRINGY mozzarella cheese and the waitress NEVER checked on me. Are you telling me that she doesn’t know what a waitress job means? Are you telling me this is how they work in her country? You are supposed to bring a drink right away, check on food orders and check if food is good.I am usually a great tipper but this place is the worst of the worst! Please eat on the main Avenue of Columbus Avenue-Paperdelle, Parmigiana are all much better than this poor excuse of a restaurant.

While deciding on walking from the Natural History Museum down to Penn Station, we found Patsy's Pizza, and we didn't look further. Though I don't see it on the menu (to review for an accurate review), we had a Margarita pie. It was perfect. The size was right for two and the crust thin as I like it. Our server was efficient and brought the pie and sodas quickly and there was more time to enjoy our food. I'd forgotten how good basil was on pizza and this was one of the best pies I'd had in Manhattan. Whenever I'm hungry for pizza, I'm returning here. Everything was GREAT about Patsy's.

Even if you confuse the Patsy's, you will be guaranteed a good meal, whether it is Patsy's Pizzeria at 61 West 74th Street or Patsy's Italian restaurant at 236 West 56th Street, not too far apart on New York City's Upper West Side. Patsy's Italian restaurant opened in 1944 while Patsy's Pizza debuted in 1933. In fact, for trivia lovers, Patsy's on West 56th Street was established by Pasquale "Patsy" Lancieri, the founder of Patsy's Pizza, which has become synonymous with authentic, Sicilian coal-fired oven pizza. Along the way, they have been credited with popularizing the traditional New York-style thin crust pizza and inventing the art of selling pizza by the slice. Open from 11:30 to 10 Sunday through Thursday and 11:30 to 11 on Friday and Saturday, Patsy's Pizza isn't all about pizza. When was the last time you saw Branzino on the menu of a pizza parlor? My wife and I started with bowls of pasta e fagioli, a Caesar salad with Romaine hearts, garlic croutons and shaved parmesan and a plate of pork, beef and veal meatballs with tomato and basil. For her entree, my wife had chicken parmigiana with tomato, mozzarella and basil and broccoli with garlic and oil and served with a side of pasta. I had to see if a pizza parlor could deliver on one of my favorite dishes, Branzino, grilled with sauteed spinach with a side of sausage and peppers. Well done, Frank Brija, who purchased the restaurant from the original Patsy in 1991. For dessert, we shared orders of tiramisu and chocolate mousse cake.

We told our waitress we were ordering pizza and a side of meatballs to put on the pizza. Our friend ordered a fish meal. The pizza came without the meatballs. By the time they came, the pizza was cold and out friend's dish still hadn't come. We sent back the pizza to be reheated and ate it with cold meatballs. The manager just said, "pizza is quicker than the other dishes". That is the best he could say?

About a block west of Central Park West, looked at the Dakota and them wanted good New York pizza. We had a half bottle of good chianti, split a great salad (they are huge--big salads and entrees are served family style). Great pizza--the 13" was plenty for two, and toppings were tasty and fresh. Friendly service too by Christothea. If we lived here we would go back!

we were getting a quick bite to eat and to have a few glasses of wine, there were 8 of us so we ordered bottles. the server came back saying they were out of bottles but i assure you were drank more that a few bottles and we know by the glass is better for the restaurant then by the bottle. the food was good

It was "okay" - pizza was plentiful and tasted good. But it was nothing special (as I had been told by others who were falling over themselves to go).

It has a good comfortable feeling when you walk into this restaurant - a typical American Italian restaurant. The pizzas were good, thin crusted. The salad we ordered with it was rather bland. But the cannoli dessert was too both. Decent value for a family outing

After a very long day in NYC (over 20,000 steps by the IPhone)...our group of 3 were starving and ready for some Italian food! We had been at the Met and were recommended to try Patsy's on 74th...after all it was just a quick walk across the park (by NY standards maybe...lol). We were NOT disappointed. We were seated promptly upon arrival...the place was crowded but quaint and homey. Our waitress was attentive and suggested the pizza...we ordered the small. We also ordered ravioli, chicken parm and a side salad to share. The pizza was the hit. Ravioli was good and salad was great also. Chicken parm was chicken parm...good but not stellar. After dinner we shared cheesecake and tartufo...yum! Definitely would return and would probably just have pizza and dessert...they were excellent. Don't get me wrong, the other food was good but there's a reason they are known for the pizza! Atmosphere inviting and the prices were very reasonable. Mangia!!!

The streets outside were a sea of humanity on Thanksgiving Eve, the restaurant was packed. We were seated and served in reasonably quick fashion, given the the holiday. The pasta and pizza were simply delicious, and fairly priced for a group of 4 people.

Take a walk up Columbus Ave where you will have plenty of choices for eating. Patsy's were truly Italian. Fresh food, fantastic thin crust pizza - reasonable prices. Services top quality as well.

We ordered a simple cheese pizza and after over one hour and fifteen minutes we called and they said it was on its way - which was not true. We called after 1.5 hours and found out the pizza was just leaving the restaurant. Of course the pizza arrived cold, but the kids were hungry, and it was not a good experience and we would not recommend and will not order again. They told us to call seamless if we wanted to arrange for a refund.

Very good. Came here on our way to the museum. Had the beet salad, chicken Parmesan and pasta and a calzone. Enough for four of us. All was good especially the red sauce. Really flavorful.

I have gone to the Upper West Side location for years. Service is great, food is truly tasty and brick oven pizza is very tasteful. Sitting can be a bit tight with the arrangement decor but overall a good place to go for sit down or take out.

Solid food, delicious artisanal pizzas, pastas and salads.. We love the large cheese pizzas with garlic and sausage, Insalata Siciliana, and Penne alla Vodka. Always a winner with the family and groups of friends.

In every restaurant you visit you pay for at least two things - the food and the service. At Patsy’s the food was good. Delivered in a reasonable time, well made, and tasty. The service felt like we were interrupting her night, asking for things she didn’t agree with and creating an unnecessary challenge for her night. But to be fair to the ownership, we would go back. Every server has a bad night. We trust that this is what we experienced.

We're totally happy. Delicious pizza and pasta. The food came on time and we were asked 2 times if everything was ok. Good job, guys. :)

We walked here after visiting the Natural History Museum. Great pizza and staff! The bread was amazing and the pizza crust was wonderful. Looking forward to going back someday!

Went on Sunday night absolutely packed real family place lots going on ! Great fresh simple pizza verfafast service Pizza delicious thin crisp wide choice of toppings

Went here for lunch during a visit from the UK on St. Patrick’s Day. Place was busy at 3pm with quite a few family parties. Seated quickly and our order was taken in just a few minutes. Water was filled fairly regularly and the beer was good too. Compared with the UK (even London) wine is expensive but that is true everywhere in NYC it seems. We shared a salad and large 17” pizza between us. We were provided with sharing plates and the salad was great (nice honey dressing). Pizza had plenty of toppings for the size, though additional prices (3.95 each) were quite high so no need to go mad (we just had onion and sausage, which were very flavoursome). It was busy but I wasn’t able to get another beer easily (I may have even had wine), so suggest the staff ask if everything is ok (if only to get the tips up). If you see an empty glass, its not rocket science :-) Well worth a visit and don’t let the scaffolding outside put you off.

We make a stop at Patsy's every time we visit NYC. Just awesome pizza, there's not really any other way to describe it. Wonderfully flavorful sauce, creamy cheese and that coal fired crust. Yum. We always have visited this location and rarely have to wait, came in last Saturday around 830pm and were seated right away. First time I was here with two people we ordered a small pizza and were so disappointed we didn't order a large...so we've gotten a large ever since :)

Visited the Museum of Natural History and looking for a place to grab a quick meal. It is possibly the best pizza I have ever had. Crust was perfect and had a brick oven finish to it. We stayed safe with pepperoni but spied what others were having nearby. The pizza, pasta and salads all looked delicious. Almost everyone finished their dish and seemed pleased. Reasonable price with great food!

We ordered a margarita pizza and when it came to the table it didn't have any basil on it. When I asked the server about the missing basil I was told they didn't have any. We should have been told that when we ordered. Not good customer service.

I used to work in Harlem and always loved the Patsy’s there. So I jumped at the opportunity to take my family to this location after a day at the museum. Place was almost empty for an early dinner around 4:30. Our waitress, a blonde with a pony tale, asked how many and sat us down. No greeting no welcome. We ordered a large pizza and just had the tap water. This seemed to upset the waitress. After getting our pizza she never said “enjoy” or followed to to see if our meal was ok. She never removed our plates and we had to ask another waitress for our check. In fact, another waitress dropped the check for her. Then my wife had to bring it to our waitress at the bar to charge the credit card. Horrible service! The pizza was fresh but burnt on the bottom. Nothing like the real Harlem location.

We stopped in here for lunch on a day exploring Central Park and were delighted. The atmosphere was warm and cosy, staff were friendly and the pizza was delicious. Good value for the quality and size of meals too.

Great pizza, wood burning oven. Good selection of toppings. Clean. Good Bar. We had a pizza the first night, and then we went back and had a pasta. Spaghetti Carbonara.

I go to Patsy's pizza every time I visit New York. The pizzas look great (I never had one) - big enough for families to share. The pasta is excellent (my choice) and well prepared and good portions. Choice of wines (glass or bottle) and beers. Great deserts (especially the tiramisu). Good place for families or couples etc..

Nice neighborhood atmosphere . Enjoyed sitting outside and loved the frozen beer glass. Disappointing pizza though.

Our family spent spring break in NYC. After a day in Central Park and the Museum of Natural History, we were looking for a slice of pizza. My husband stopped a lady walking her dog to ask for the best (and closest) place to find some. She directed us to Patsy's on 74th. It was sooooo worth the walk, which really wasn't too far anyway. It is a sit down restaurant but the service was good and quick. We ordered a pizza Margarita and it was by far the best pizza we ate the whole time we were there. Our kids keep asking to go back just to eat there again! The atmosphere was quiet and cozy. Overall, we loved it and recommend you add it to your travel plans!

Patsy’s came highly recommended but it was just okay pizza. A bit on the dry side was the white pizza & just not enough flavor. Really wanted great New York Pizza but it was not a location I will re-visit. The red sauce was good as were the meatballs, but they were not memorable when there are so many choices in NYC.

PROS *Pizza was good. I preferred the cheese pizza over the White pizza with ricotta because I really liked the sweet red sauce. *Always enjoy a basket of bread with oil and Parmesan cheese. *We were a group of nine coming from the Museum of Natural History, so the location was convenient. *Nice for big groups. We were a party of nine with kids. CONS *I’d take this place over Joe’s and Roberta’s, but it still doesn’t crack my top three NY pizza spots.

Want real, home made Italian food? This is the place! The pizzas, pastas and sauces are all made fresh and are delicious. Patsy’s is the most amazing food I’ve had in the city

We stumbled on this through Tripadvisor. We were near the AMNH with a group of Cub Scouts - 11 boys & 10 adults. We were there early - 4:45 so they had no trouble seating us. We ordered a variety of pizzas and all were great - crispy crust, with good sauce and great cheese. Really enjoyed it - particularly the sausage. We got plain cheese, pepperoni and sausage. Service was fast and helpful - especially helpful with this big group. They also had gluten free pasta which worked great for one of the kids.

The pizza, bread and calzone were delicious. The staff were evasive, unfriendly and inattentive. At one point the server pushed our meal in front of the other couple we were with. We had to move it over to our table. This is the first restaurant I’ve even been in that didn’t have soda refills. Also watched a party of 8 saying their goodbyes, and their server walked up said move, because she needed to go past. No manners, no excuse me. It was painful to be served in this restaurant. Like I said the food was great, but the staff will keep people Away.

Started with two crunchy warm rolls. The pasta fagioli soup was a large serving and tasty. The insalata mista ($9) with mixed greens, tomatoes, carrots, and olives was large but the lettuce was a bit on the shaggy side. The 17-inch pizza ($21) was piping hot - got it without toppings; crust was thin and a bit crunchy except in the middle where it was sadly soggy. Our waitress took our order and got us water - and then shortly after that left the restaurant. We were then the orphan customers and we had a hard time getting any attention - our plates remained uncleared, our water glasses empty, our pizza leftovers waiting to be boxed. This is an area without alot of competing restaurants so I wouldn't be racing back here....

Went for lunch after the American Museum of Natural History with my kids (7-15). We ordered pizza, grilled chicken salad, meatballs and a pasta dish all to share. Rolls were brought out immediately. Very friendly staff and really good food.

The trifecta of BAD...!) Poor, slow service-over an hour to get a pizza 2) Expensive($3.95/ $2.75 PER topping) in addition to the 17in/$21.00 base 3) Poor product-pizza did not have any flavor, scant sauce, and the consistency was like cardboard!! I had to seek out our unfriendly waiter to ask her 3 times for my water glass to be refilled and she never came by to ask how we were doing! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FLAVORFULL AUTHENTIC NYC PIZZA...just because they have been around awhile, does not mean they are good! Time to close it up....

This was recommended to us by a local who was talking to a concierge - we would never have found it as it was a lot further back than we would have ventured - so glad we did as it was the best pizza ever! So much so that we re-visited despite only being in NYC for 5 days!

I read about kids, remember you're in a family friendly pizza joint, not a fine dining Italian restaurant. So there is a good possibility that there will be plenty of them here at some times of the day and early evening. But you will like the feel, friendliness and the food. Whatever you eat, at least have a pie for a starter to judge for yourself on what people rave about. I found it better than good, don't know if it's the best in the city, but it's very good example of what is.

This place is some of the best pizza in NYC. highly recommend. Always a must do when in the city. The mozzarella is always fresh as well as the sauce. Amazing!!

Was rather disappointed when a friend & I chose to celebrate National Pizza Day at Patsy's. For me, it's about the crust. Our margarita pizza with mushroom topping was not the thin crust I hoped for. Frankly, I would have sent it back however was deferential to my companion. The place was packed. I concluded there were other items on the menu worth trying or my palate is more discerning. Decide for yourself

Great pizza! We really enjoyed our pizza with white sauce and mushrooms. The crust was so yummy! The salads looked delicious but we did not try one ourselves. If you are looking for some good pizza, this is a great place to visit!

Many reviews were good and NY pizza is usually great. The food was way overpriced ($13 for a small, plain pizza), not hot and tasteless. They charged for an ice tea refill and the service was quite slow and not particularly friendly. Guess I was overly generous In giving Patsy’s 2 stars.

Went to patsy’s because of the reviews. What a disappointment, service, the worst and the pizza awful, no refills for sodas. First and last

When we have friends in from out-of-town and want reliable food a few blocks from our home, this is our go-to place. Large family style pastas and salads and tasty thin crust pizza. Fried eggplant on the appetizer menu. Good for families as it is easy to get a large table.

Ordered takeout from this pizza place upon the recommendation of our hotel. Ordered a pizza and Caesar salad. The food was fantastic. We would order again and recommend without hesitation.

The meatballs were the best I've tried, though too big (every restaurant I've eaten at wants to make meatballs the size of baseballs. They should be aiming for ping-pong ball size.) The penne with vodka sauce was excellent as well. We finished the meal with a margarita (sp.?) pizza. This had a great, crisp crust and was beyond fine.

Long tradition within their family and nowadays you can find a few places with the same swag. Love the Pepperoni one...unique type, small in size than the traditional one and crunchier.

I've eaten here at various times over the years. This time, we ordered for delivery. The pizza is good, because it is thin crust and not too much oil or cheese and good use of the tomato sauce. This pizza is not heavy and goes down easily. I do believe it is better at the restaurant itself because it is fresh and hot. We also got 2 other dishes, the frutta de mare and the eggplant parmagiana with spaghetti. Both were fairly good.

This place is perfect for families! The Pizza was excellent and I saw them make it while I was sitting at my table. My family of 5 polished off 2 large cheese pizzas!!! Excellent salad and bread. No free refills on drinks, though. I recommend this place and I would go again. We got there at noon and were seated right away on a Wednesday. By the time we left at 1:15 the line was almost out the door! Go early!

Recommended by a friend. We ordered the meatball pizza, it was good but not as great as expected. Service was ok. Near Central Park.

Why did we not come here sooner? With very little time to spare we went to Patsy's for an early dinner. We were flying home and wanted a decent meal before the flight. Everything we ordered was delicious and efficient which suited our flying stop. It's the sort of place you will use many times in your trip if you had visited it sooner.

Delicious food, pizza was swimming in pepperoni. We sat outside and service was great. Close to the hospitals so it's very convenient.

Always a good pie here-nice and charred but soft. Cheese and toppings are good quality, and over the years, unwavering consistency. Always a great meal, in or take out. Pasta dishes are excellent as well.

Patsy's is a friendly place with fantastic pizza. WE celebrated a big win of the ACC tournament there, conveniently located close to the Barclay Center.

I work a few blocks from Patsy's. It is a favorite lunch place for me and many of my co-workers. Great thin-crust pizza. Very good salads (try the Mista) and nice surroundings. There are many Pizza places within walking distance and this is the best. When I have out-of-town friends visiting I bring them here to give them a taste of good NYC pizza. There are many other choices on the menu and look very good also!

We ordered two large pizzas and a fried calamari as an appetizer. We really enjoyed both menu items. Calamari was fresh and did not disappoint. Pizza was excellent. We spent the morning walking around Central Park and grabbed lunch here. The Natural History Museum is near by as well.

Patsy’s pizza is a long-standing venue on the Upper West Side that has stood the test of time but it is struggling to keep up.The location is great and as long as you don't get a seat right next to the baking area or the restrooms ,the interior is spacious and in the tradition of a good traditional pizza parlor. Since pizza is the main selection at most tables, we also had it together with a large salad. The white pie crust was the most abundant component followed by tomato sauce .We asked for extra cheese and mushroom toppings but the additions were skimpy. We were served a large mixed salad which was fresh but quite expensive considering the thirty-two dollar price tag . Service was efficient but dont look for a smile or personal attention. Overall Patsy's still remains a landmark but more like a historical one than one where you would still find great pizza and value for money today.

We really enjoyed the pizza. It was a destination for us as we wanted to try Patsy's on the way to the Natural HIstory museum. Staff was friendly and the food very fresh. We just got a pizza for lunch. But we would definitely return for dinner next time we are in the area. I would recommend this to my friends.

We shared one large pizza and two salads for lunch for 4 and had more than enough food. The pizza was wood fired and had the standard charred areas, but overall very tasty. One of the salads was a little wilted and soggy. However the rolls were fresh and crusty. Many celebrity photos on the walls, but I assume their salads were fresh.

There are many options for dinner in this UWS side neighbored and we have experienced most of them. Patsy's stands out as by far our worst experience. Poor service and lousy food. Do I need to say more? The server was surly and work-shy. How do you mess up Italian comfort food? Patsy's did it. When we mentioned this to friends we were told "try the take-out pizza". No thanks.

My family really enjoyed our meal at Patsy's. We shared a large pizza and two orders of pasta. The service was not super friendly but friendly enough. Lots of families with young children were there during lunch time, which makes this place a family friendly restaurant. The meal was very affordable, especially in NYC.

Great pizza and salads with family. Friendly service in a casual atmosphere. Quite reasonable given its great location and proximity to Central Park.

After my visit to National History Museum we started walking and found Patsy's and told my son my experience in the past and how good used to be. Still amazing ! Simple , fresh ingredients that made this tip so worst it . Order fired calamari and it was yummy then fresh mozzarella salad , Pasta Pomodoro, arugula salad with grilled chicken . Simple traditional but really good.

While the restaurant had a very nice appearance both inside & outside. Service wasn't so great. Our waitress was very hard to understand and she had to check with someone on any question we had. We were with my daughter and both she and I needs to be very careful what we eat due to a medical conditions, but we couldn't change anything, it was exactly how it was in the menu or choose something else!! Not even dressing on salads could be changed, we were told, "we don't do that". So we tried to go with safe simple Italian dishes. My husband ordered the Chicken Parm., my daughter the ravioli and I ordered shrimp scampi.....well 2 out of 3 isn't bad. I was told the Shrimp scampi came with rice which is better for me, so perfect...or so I thought. The shrimp scampi was not what you might except it was very decorative on the plate with an molded yellow rice in the center with the shrimp around it, smothered in peppers, which was not mentioned in the menu or the waitress who made a point to tell me about the rice. I can't have pepper so I needed to scrape each shrimp to remove the chopped peppers and try and eat what ever rice wasn't too hard and didn't have pepper on it. We will NOT ever be going back! Very poor policy this day and age with so many food related medical issues. At least clearly list every ingredient on the menu if you won't make changes or try and get fancy. I would also suggest something clearly on the door so a patron understands the policy before entering your establishment.

Lovely pizzas and good friendly service. Would recommend especially with family. Would have liked to go back to try more eg pasta dishes but ran out of time.

We stopped in for dinner and had a nice family meal. The kids are pizza while the adults got family style: antipasti, salad and pasta. It was good and service was quite helpful and attentive. It was almost like we were right at home.

We had a large party dining on a Sunday evening, and the service here was great! They helped pull tables together for our group, and got our wine and food out to us super quickly. There were numerous bottles and glasses of wine to choose from. The pizza and Italian dishes were very good. The decor and atmosphere were definitely authentic Italian.

We were visiting ny and had gone to the museums near there and were famished, smelled the pizza, walked in and it was not disappointing, crispy thin Italian pizza, sausage and peppers, split between two of us, glass of Pinot Grigio, superb, fresh mozzarella, not to spicy , just right

Visiting hospital in neighborhood and was local. Ok Place. Food average. Zita, ravioli, veal parmigana ok. Cannoli was really good. Wait staff was fair to average. But if you’re starving, definitely worth trying.

A solid pizza place with a lovely atmosphere. My go to place when I stay in the Upper Westside of Manhattan.

I'm no pizza expert but the pizza was good. The restaurant needs a little updating maybe but other than that no complaints.

After a visit to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, we were very hungry and ready for some New York Style Pizza. The waitresses’ command of English was limited. However, they were very nice and worked hard to make us happy. The pizza was delicious. We walked out very happy.

Good mix of tourists and locals. There’s a lovely ambiance and the staff is helpful. The pizza is good New York style.

We came here for a quick pizza and had heard good things of the patsy's brand. The pizza was very nice and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The cust was a bit large and id have preffered the sauce to go a little closer to the edge. The service was pretty quick.

We were staying at the Hotel Beacon and this restaurant was a short walk away. We went on our first night in NY and enjoyed our meal so much we came back near the end of our holiday. Primarily a menu of pizza and pasta with a good wine and beer selection. Staff nice and friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the restaurant.

We had high hopes for this place. Food was good. The waiter could have been happier. She first gave us the lunch menu. When we wanted to order she realised that it was over the lunch time, so she took the luinch menu back. Poor judgement. We asked for a childrens menu and she told us that they did not have a childrens menu, which I find very poor. They could make pasta (without sauce) for my 3 year old son, but they would charge me for a regular pasta bolognese (around 20 USD). Thats terrible. This kind of stuff makes me angry. Thats why they get 2 stars from me. Period.

Sticking to the classic margarita pizza, YUM! Atmosphere was classic and the pizza was great. I was disappointed that refills were not free.

One of my go to places when I am in NYC…. Pizza is delicious. Very consistent place as I have been there many times and it never disappoints…. Friendly staff and great location on West 74th and Columbus Ave on upper West side…. Not a lot of tourists but some… definitely not crowded like mid town

Our pizza, chicken marsala were good. Calamari was OK. Here was my huge problem. It took forever for someone to even come and say hello we will be right there. When the waitress did come she rushed us and she happy at all. BUT the worst was first, my aunt does not like sauce with her calamari so she asked if she could have some kind of dressing with it. She said really any dressing, ranch, Caesar, mayo, anything. The waitress said well we dont do that, it will be an extra $3.00. We said for a little bowl of dressing for the calamari? Shocking. Then I got the chicken marsala and I had said can you please put the linguine on the side. I dont like pasta in Marsala sauce. Can you just put tomato sauce on it instead on the side. Again she said no we dont do that. It will be an extra $3.00. I said are you kidding? You make pizza, you can just put a little sauce on the linguine? As I am in shock talking to her the manager walks over. I ask him the same thing and he also tells me no we dont do that. He will charge us an extra $3 for the spoonful of sauce. I told him that I would never eat there again because the service was so horrible. I can understand if I was asking to completely change our meal but asking for pasta on the side with sauce??? Any Italian restaurant I go to will do that for you. And a side of dressing for calamari?? We spent $100 there you would think they could help you out. Disappointing.

We found Patsy's while strolling along the Upper West Side, and had la pepperoni pizza and calzone. The food, service and ambiance were OK, but nothing great.

Nothing cold and modern here. Resembles many European restaurants with tables closely set, waiters very attentive and food out of the ordinary. Pies are of generous size and easy to personalize with great fresh ingredients. I am particularly fond of white pies and they have more to choose from than anyone else I am aware of. Beet salad was nice and fresh and portobello mushroom appetizer was superb. Food was fresh, tasty and served at its respective perfect temperature in a timely manner. Made for a very enjoyable 1st night in New York!

Wanted to get a traditional NYC pizza lunch and was not disappointed, reminds me the pizza from Italy. If your in the mood for great traditional food, and want to see a nice area come here, bring the kids, heck you can even bring grandma.

patsy's is a delicious restaurant. the pizza is great! just what we ordered. the service is very good. they got us in and out pretty fast. we enjoyed it.

All toppings had slid off of the pizza. Top was soggy and wet, bottom was burnt. See pictures. Terrible.

Patsy’s is go-to for us, and has been for several years. The restaurant is very comfortable. There always seems to be space. The servers have been consistently pleasant and thoughtful. The food is very good, with a menu occasionally changing, but staying true to an authentic NYC pizza as good as any, better than many, and distinctive (we also eat pizza at Osteria Cotta, which is different). We’ve eaten the chicken parmigiana and the chicken Marsala, which are both very good. The wines are fine. We’ll go again. BONUS good value BONUS good service TIP wine & beer only TIP convenient to the museum of Natural History TIP this review can apply to the east side location on 60 Street

The area is nice and quiet, close to Central Park. The service was awesome and the food was tasty. I'll be back!

Called into this restaurant after a long day site seeing. We were seated quickly and ordered a 17 inch pizza ($21)between the 2 of us. It comes with a basic mozzarella, ricotta and tomato and we ordered 4 extra toppings at about $2.50 each I think. It was terrific and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a bottle of wine with it which was about $30..not cheap but we didn't really find any cheap wine in NY restaurants. The waitress was really pleasant. Definitely would recommend.

We were looking for a place for pizza after a long day at the Museum of Natural History and Patsy’s was the perfect place. The service was efficient and the pizza delicious. The perfect ending to our day.

We ducked in here for lunch after a soggy day in Central Park. The service was prompt and courteous. We ordered two large pizzas for a party of 6. We had pepperoni and sausage and it was the best NY pizza we had all week. So flavorful! We would dine here again.

Very friendly family oriented restaurant. Staff was very attentive and wide variety of menu items. The Pizza was on a very thin and crisp with any fresh topping your heart desires. We had cheese cake for dessert and it was light and creamy at the same time. I have gone back twice this week just for the cheese cake.

We picked up two large pies from Patsy’s in July 2025 - one white pie and one with 3 extra toppings of roasted peppers, onions, and olives. The topped pie was excellent, with toppings covering the entire pie, being plentiful and flavorful. The white pie, however, barely had any mozzarella/ricotta which didn’t even cover it in full. The “fine herbs” stated in the menu were just a few baked basil leaves on top. At $26 Manhattan price tag it was quite disappointing. Crust was thin as expected from other reviews but lacked crunch. Would be interesting to sample more dishes to better assess overall food quality, but I’ll leave that to other reviewers. 4 stars for now and neutral on whether I'd recommend.

Went here for lunch and the four of us shared a large pizza and caprese salad. The salad was good. The sausage pizza was decent by no means the best I've ever had.

I asked my granddaughters where they wanted to go for dinner, at unison they said "Patsy's they have the best pizza in the whole wide world". How could I argue with that !!! The pizza was fantastic, the service was perfect, and the ambiance was wonderful. I'm happy they recommended this place, after all it's been here since 1933 and I had never visited before !!!

We enjoyed this very much. The queue at busy times looks a bit off putting, but there is a system and you will get a table. The atmosphere is good and the food better. Basic pizza and pasta dishes, but it feels as though everything is done with love of the food, and customer in mind. Very honest place. We left with a smile on our faces.
They also serve Italian specialties
We came to Patsy’s for the pizza but the $26 price tag before the toppings was a definite deterrent . Luckily , the grilled salmon as well as the pasta dishes were delicious. Quick service too .
