I walked by this bar dozens of times and never knew it was there. Our Rockefeller Center tour guide talked about it during our tour, so I wanted to check it out. The location and bar has a great history (check out their website pebblebarnyc.com) and was launched in 2022 by three friends and longtime New Yorkers. The website also occasionally has coupons (which you might want cuz the cocktails are yummy, but also expensive). The 2nd floor is a small cocktail bar (four high tops and 5 stools at the bar) and offers… cocktails and a limited bar appetizer menu. Reservations are suggested for the 3rd floor bar but they do have space for a very limited number of walk ins. The bartenders were friendly, the drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere (dark and moody, but cozy and comfortable) was perfect after a long day of walking the city.

I don't think I would've ever come here if not for my partner, who invited me when we were getting to know each other. I remember opening the menu and asking if they knew the prices for this place, to which they responded that they did, and not to worry about the cost- just have fun. The lively music with intimate seating sure helped with loosening up that evening. You can order several things off the menu, as this is more of a "tapas-style" restaurant. Between the fresh oysters and deviled eggs, I was transported to culinary Heaven. If there's any con, it could be that the music was very loud and the seating was rather snug. If you're uncomfortable at the thought of sitting in a small space near other people with dim lighting, I'd recommend trying something else. But for me, it gave me the perfect space to get to know my partner and enjoy high-quality bites. With enough cash, I would come here again and try the bites I didn't taste the first time. Maybe as an anniversary dinner!
A hidden gem!
After visiting the Top of the Rock we stumbled on the Pebble Bar at the rink. Wow, attentive but not overly service, great atmosphere, seats right in front of Prometheus, this was a pleasant way to wind down the day. Not excessively priced drinks for NYC and the location, I would definitely recommend to anyone in the vicinity or seeking that ideal drinks destination.
