We had mixed feelings about the place. Good prices on alcohol but overpriced pasta. My husband loved his creamy pasta with sausages while my seafood special was tasteless. It was a special of the day but was very watery and I could do better at home. We were the only guests there at twelve and it felt like we were in the middle of a staff meeting. I had found it by recommendation but ended up disappointed.

Went on recommendation from a friend. Quiet place, excellent service, good food. Kale Cesar salad was fresh. I had rigatoni with salmon in pink sauce. Very good.

This was a truly satisfying comforting luxurious meal after a day of exploring the city. Wonderful service, reasonable prices, lovely classic bit creative menu. Quality ingredients and touches, rustic homey decor, good energy. My teenage son is an Italian food aficionado and everything was done just right. A great last night in NYC before we went to bed in a happy food coma.

This place is so amazing, cozy and intimate, best for both the get together and intimate dinner. Their Italian food is out of this world, a must try when in little Italy!

My daughter and I make special trips just to go have our lunch/brunch dates!! Authentic Italian cuisine ,Good service and nice energy .Love to hear the chef speaking Italian from the kitchen

My husband and I fell upon this cosy and rustic Italian on our last afternoon in New York City and were greeted with a very warm Italian welcome. Service was efficient and friendly. My husband ordered the spaghetti carbonara and I the Italian burger. Both were very tasty and good value for money. I can highly recommend a visit to this lovely, rustic Italian restaurant.

Love the atmosphere and is family friendly, good food that all of us enjoy and still talking about it.I had the Pappardelle Oxtail Ragu, and you got to try the Nutella tiramisu Wow. In all it was a grate experiance and I recommend to all my friends when they visit New York.

This small authentic Italian restaurant is not as touristy as most in Little Italy. It is on Mott St. a bit off the main drag but once inside we felt like we were dining in a trattoria in Italy! From the antipasto to the homemade desserts, every bite was delicious. We especially enjoyed the pappardelle with oxtail sauce and the fish soup. Service was friendly and attentive and staff was very concerned about pleasing. They took great pride in their food and service. This is a real find with reasonable prices and well prepared, homemade Italian cuisine. We will be back!

Had dinner recently - was underwhelmed. Lots of faults - few redeeming features. Service is inpersonal - always felt they wanted us out. Seemed to think we would not know our wine an dpush the house wine (over-priced). Big serves of pasta - big is not better. Linguine with seafood was OK - nothing different. Meatball pasta was too salty. All in all - just not enough to make it stand out.

I didn't know if I was going to love this place. Its exterior and interior are a little worn -- but not dirty or deteriorating. The reviews were good, we wanted something low-key, not too pricey, and homey, comfort food. This place delivered! First, our waiter, could not have been nicer. We were two adults, two teenagers, a bit loud, and obviously tourists. But he treated us like family, not in that "Mama Mia, whatcha gonna have" over the top kind of way -- but quiet, helpful, offering to change up the dishes on the fly to things that suited my girlfriend and the kids (Alfredo sauce? Sure. Gnocchi? Sure -- any of the pastas you can substitute with gnocchi). So just delightful, smiling and very accommodating. Hats off. I didnt feel we were being looked down on cause we were "tourists". Now the food. Started with a 1/2 carafe of Sangiovese, nice, light -- like you would find in Italy. Appetizers had mushroom bruschetta with truffle oil which was amazing! Argula salad wit cannellini beans, grilled prawns, lemon and olive oil. Simple, tasty, both home runs. We each got a pasta -- and they were all fabulous. Lightest gnocchi Ive ever had! All pastas made here, on premises! Sauces were exceptional and exactly as described. Fresh, and good. Homey. Comfort. Highly recommended if you're nearby, or just need to get away from the Scene.

My friend and I dined at Pepe Rosso Social recently, and it's on my list of restaurants the next time I'm in NYC/Little Italy. It is a cozy, inviting space with a menu that doesn't try to be something it's not. My friend had the vodka penne, and I had the oxtail pappardelle ragu, and after sharing, we both decided that the penne was more flavorful. I enjoyed the pappardelle too, make no mistake! We also shared an arugula with grilled pear salad which was light and delicious. The prices were amazingly reasonable, and the portions were just right, in my opinion. There are several Italian places where I live in the Minneapolis area that would cost more than Pepe Rosso. Our servers were wonderful, too - pleasant, friendly and not pushy. I look forward to going back so I can try more items on the menu!

Forget all the over priced, watered down Italian restaurants in the area. Pepe Rosso Social is sure to please anyone looking for rustic Italian fare. Try the pappardelle oxtail or their chicken Milanese. The wine list is very affordable and they have carafes. Don't forget to leave room for their homemade desserts. The atmosphere is casual and fun.

Food here is pretty good although seems overpriced for amount received; staff kind, friendly and accommodating of all parties wishing to eat there even if there a wait; be sure to check the tab for errors prior to paying; space is small and cosy with a home-like feel and easy accessibility that's just around the corner from Mulberry

Stopped here for early lunch with my 4, 6 & 8 year olds...v welcoming and relaxed, lovely food and all very fresh...waiter apologised for taking too long with the bread...because it was still cooking! V good value for the area too.

This place had nice fresh food and a nice small space. The staff are good, they don't try too hard. I had the mussels and sausage, really good. I also had a pasta dish which was good, but not amazing. The highlight of this place is the balance of price, quality, service, and atmosphere, all come together perfectly. I will go back for sure!

Another NYC place to grab happy hour and a meal. Cozy and comfortable with friendly staff. The place smells wonderful and the presentation of the food excites. Just a cool place near little Italy to stop in and be a guy from the neighborhood.

We stopped in on a Saturday night for a nice Italian meal. Had some nice Italian wine (house red for $38/L) and a calamari appetizer. Crowded but comfortable. Service was good. Would have been nicer if we didn't have a six foot tv screen playing reruns of "Friends" in our cozy room. I was told that sometimes they put up a fireplace screen saver which would have changed the whole ambience of the evening. The wild mushroom fettuccine, the Penne Porcellini and the Spaghetti Bolognese were all wonderful and the prices very reasonable ($130 total for three including wine, apps).

Great Food, Great Prices. What more could you want. Had the Bronzini. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. The Kale Cesar Salad was another winner. We tried their award winning pasta. Another great dish, all for $45.00. Can't beat that,

Ok, not on mulberry st. So what ? Mott is just next to mulberrry. Also, probably because of the shabby look, both outside and interior, this is not your mulberry tourist usual ripoff. Genuine Italian: why would they watch a Juventus-bologna soccer match otherwise on the huge tv screen at the back of the restaurant? Very friendly staff, delicious food - try the penne DEL tre porcellini-, reasonable portions, very reasonable prices. If you must it in littlE Italy, dine there, but don’t expect Diet Coke or decaf, they only serve good food.

Whilst on NYC visit, came across fabulous local coffee house, best coffee during our week long stay. Panini wasn’t bad either, worth a lunchtime visit. Thanks

Convivial atmosphere, local regulars who swear by this place. Chose the bar as tables were full. Bar was great for dining here. Owner charmingly manages to get folks seated as quickly as space allows. Had day's special super fresh and delicate eggplant zucchini parm as appetizer, rich scollini wine for starters, then mains of tender braised lamb shank with pillow soft hand made gnocchi in red sauce, husband had oxtail papardelle. Desserts, made in house (not easy to be superb at mains and desserts), were very refined: berry Panna cotta, and ricotta marscapone cheesecake. Both were lite and rich at once. I love finding fresh lemon peel in the cream - always a nice touch. The quality, charm, atmosphere, happy staff and even the music make this a new favorite place. We will definitely be back. Try not to tell Too Many Others - I want to be able to get a seat.

Visited on a trip to NYC. Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food for the price. Off the main strip of Italian restaurants of little Italy, but worth the extra few seconds of walking. Great wait staff! Warm homey feel. Absolutely loved it! Wish we had had room for dessert. Maybe next time!

Stumbled upon this place as we tried to get into Two Hands - the Aussie owned cafe across the road. Wait time was to long so we crossed the road to find this little gem. Well worth a visit - great food and all staff and family speak Italian around you! Grazi

We had a panini (glorified sandwich) and a pasta which was not fresh. It was definitely not bad, but not good also

Food not cooked . When asked why the answer i am not the cooke. The food had No taste. waiters full of attitude, In short not worth the time nor the money.

Happened upon this place courtesy of yelp and I was hesitant to try it. Ha! The food, the atmosphere, the service, all perfection. Our group of 6 showed up near closing time and instead of the usual rush you often get at that time, they treated us like guests in their home. Innovative dishes, quality food and very reasonable prices. I will most definitely be back next time I am in NYC.

My daughter and I had the best Italian food every at this small but lovely restaurant. The service was outstanding too.

On Mott Street just off Mulberry St where all the tourist places are this was a great find. The place is a bit small and cosy. Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. The food is excellent. My friend and I visit NYC for business every month and were looking for some good Italian food. We were greeted by an Italian man named Gianfranco I think. I think he may be the owner but don't know. He brought us some prosecco complementary. We had some nice appetizers with olives, cheese and prosciutto. Our pasta was perfect. Gianfranco insisted we try the Nutella Tiramisu. We were too full so said maybe next time. He brought it out complementary anyway and it was wonderful. But the crazy thing is we went back a month later and Gianfranco remembered us and exactly what we had. We told him we came back for the TIramisu... So for us we will be back.. a lot.

My Husband and I went to this restaurant during our trip to New York. The service is first class and the staff cannot do enough for you. The food is excellent and well priced and the portions are generous. The restaurant is based just outside of Little Italy not far from Chinatown. We would definitely visit again.

The servers were watching TV the whole time we were there , not paying attention to the costumers around them. They were so into the movie they wouldn't even make eye contact with you when you tried. Food was delicious but the portions were small for the price you pay. To make matters worse; the gentleman who brought us our bills asked us "what's up?" when wondering about how we would pay. I have never had such disrespectful service before. Would never go back. The owner was very sweet, but the waiters need to learn some manners and shut the tv off for dinner service.

We had the meat balls which i found were of a good texture but lacking in any flavour - as for the sauce it was very watery - have had better sauce from a supermarket jar Ragu pasta was just ok but the dish was only warm as if they had just cooked the pasta and topped it off with the ragu The mushroom pasta also just ok Beer at $4 during happy hour was the only positive.

I enjoyed my meal at Peppe Rosso, printed on their menu is something like " great food at great prices" and i would agree with that. The rice ball appetizer was made to order, with arborio rice. Entree of caicco & pepe over bucatini pasta hit the spot. Seafood medley special over pasta was really enjoyed by the wife. My daughter was a fan of her pasta special. Definitely will be back.

We really liked the restaurants itself and the truly wonderful service. The place felt genuinely Italian, reminding us of many little places we experienced in Italy. The servers here were very helpful in recommending wine and in helping me deal with my accursed garlic issue (tastes good, but tears up my stomach). The lasagna my wife ordered was sizable, full of meat, cheeses and sauce, just as it should have been. My Chicken Milanese was dry and not terribly flavorful, but, of course, I did have to have it without garlic. I did enjoy the greens and tomatoes that were used to top off the breaded meat, but to us, the meal seemed pretty average, especially when compared to other Italian restaurants we visited in NYC.

Italian food. Nothing special, not satisfying. The boss wasn't friendly at the beginning. Later he changed his attitude. The quantity of antipasti weren't enough for 6. They try to handle to many clients so there rushing the clients to finish up. So it is not nice

Super friendly people and great atmosphere. The waiter was nice and the staff worked well together. The locals we talked to raved about the place and the women sitting inside was planning her wedding catering from here. The pasta was al dente but too much and not evenly in my dish. I had the seafood pasta, the flavor was great and the seafood was really fresh, awesome salmon. The bread was a little bland but the oil and balsamic served with it gave some taste. We enjoyed the beet salad and calamari. Overall the service was great but the food was just average.

This restaurant is overall pretty good. The atmosphere is pretty intimate, but casual. The service is also really good. We got the tomato and basil bruschetta and the calamari for our appetizers. The calamari was very good, however the bruschetta was decently soggy. We also got complimentary focaccia and sliced baguette. We got four entrees, including the cacio e Pepe, oxtail ragu, penne tre porcellini, and the seafood with black linguini. All of the dishes were very good, and we had no complaints with them. Just as a warning, the drink selection was fairly limited. There were only a couple sodas, none of which were diet. There are also only two draft beers, neither of which were available this early Friday night. The restaurant, even with its odd location by Chinese restaurants and shops, was very good.

We went to Pepe Rosso SoCial for a late lunch. The restaurant was not busy, and we were seated in the back. We started with the buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto and tomato. It was so good that the cheese and meat guy with us actually enjoyed the sliced tomato, too. I had the $9 lunch special (Monday to Friday, until 4 p.m.). The salad that came with it was colorful and fresh. The penne tomato and mozzarella had generous chunks of the cheese. The portion size was the same as the regular pasta items. We finished with nutella tiramisu and berry panna cotta. Of the two, the panna cotta was our favorite. As the menu says, "No diet Coke, no decaf Coffee, no Skim Milk ... Only Good Food!" - and that suits me just fine.

Loved loved everything about this place, Stephano and Michele were spectacular, food was so authentic, ambiance was lovely, returned a few times can't wait to go back on my next trip to NYC, also the Café Americano was the best anywhere!!!

I was recommended to come here and when my bf's friends came from West Virginia and wanted to get a little NYC tour I figured this would be a great place to stop for dinner. The place is small but very cozy, the food is AH-MAZING ! I have tried a lot of Italian places in NYC and i must say this is one of the best one's. Food is very fresh, service is amazing and very attentive and we would definitely be back when craving Italian. Enjoy!

We found this restaurant based on a Yelp review and decided to go without a reservation. We were seated and immediately charmed by the cozy atmosphere. Pepe has a somewhat limited menu compared to some other Italian restaurants in that area but that wasn't an issue for us. I thought the entrees were reasonably priced as was the house wine. We got a half carafe and the 3 of us were able to get 2 glasses apiece out of it. For dessert - best cheesecake I've ever eaten - ricotta and marscapone. Very light with delicious crust. We loved it here!

This was absolutely our favorite meal in NYC. The service was good, and the pasta sauce was flavorful and delicious. Yum!

A block over from Mulberry St. surrounded by Chinatown, the ambience, food, and staff were delightful! Check out their daily specials in addition to the plentiful authentic Italian choices on the menu. Reasonably priced for the portions. I will be recommending this restaurant to my friends for sure!

Saw this restaurant had great reviews and decided to check it out... Was not disappointed at all! Upon walking in, we were offered the "special seat" by the window. Atmosphere was so fun and quaint, lit up with some Christmas lights. I ordered the gnocchi which was incredible! Afterwards, our waiter was kind enough to give us the tiramisu as a dessert on the house. It was delicious and would recommend! Everything about this restaurant was fun, would definitely come back!

The gnocchi was perfectly prepared. Tasted like fluffy little clouds of goodness. Intimate setting, with pleasant decor and great waitstaff.

I used to live in NYC and Peppe Rosso social was just next to my apartment in Nolita. It has the best Italian food in NYC. Not a tourist trap. Fair prices and nice environment. One of my favorites places. Just want to return. Highly recommended. You will also find nice bars around for drinks.

Stopped in by chance for a quick supper before a Broadway play. What a great discovery. We had the special black pepper gnocchi with shrimp and calamari, which was amazing. We will be back any time we are in NYC.

If you're in Little Italy, ie. Mulberry Street, then head 1-block east to Pepe Rosso Social. Everything in NYC is expensive, right? Then try the $10 lunch offer at this local osteria. Choice of salad or soup and a pasta dish (the portions are right-sized and the sauces are simple but tasty). And Pepe Rosso Social does the osteria tradition proud with a good selection of Italian wines--served in water glasses of course, Italian style. Mangia e bevi!

My wife and I were exploring New York City and received a recommendation to eat here. We are so happy that we found this place. It is a small place, but the food and service were outstanding!!! Great for a date night or a small social gathering.

We were staying in SoHotel and found several restaurants and bars nearby had poor food and service. We happened upon this restaurant and went in for dinner. The owner greeted us and offered a romantic seat for two near the window, the view was the street as the owner joked "a view of the sea". We shared the octopus salad and each had a glass of Sangiovese I ordered Bucatini Cacio e Pepe and my husband had the evening special, linguine with shellfish. The restaurant offers Gluten Free pasta as well. The service was superb and the food delicious. The owner is on hand and talks to all of the customers, reminded me of Italy.

We went to dinner here last weekend, and had a fantastic experience. If you're looking for a very good plate of pasta, and a decent bottle of wine all for a fair price, this is your place. I would rather go here than the more pretentious places around the city. The staff is kind, helpful, and happy to have you. Pepe Rosso's embodies exactly what most people are looking for when they want to get a good plate of pasta.

I liked the over feel of the restaurant, fairly good wine selection, very limited beer and no full bar. We all had lemon caper chicken plate. Kinda like a picatta, but not named picatta. It came with roasted vegetables. Nearly raw, but okay. My wife subbed pasta for the vegetables. The chicken was flavorless. Sauces were very thin and light on the capers. 17.00 for this meal was too much. Overall the experience was okay. Staff was extremely friendly. Probably would not come back with all the other choices.

If you want authentic, delicious Italian food, step around the corner off Mulberry and visit Pepe Rosso on Mott Street. Best Italian food! The chef, Stephan, took excellent care of us. I believe he loves what he does and it shows. He makes everything fresh, from scratch. Try the cheese cake that he makes with ricotta and mascarpone. You will never eat Philadelphia cream cheese again. I had one of the specials: shrimp, asparagus, spinach in a pink sauce. One friend had the gnocchi special and loved it. Another had the oxtail ragu with pappardelle. Delicious! The restaurant is small and charming. Quite a find for my friends and I. All very happy we visited.

We went there at night without a reservation (2 people) and were seated right away. A party of six came after and were asked if they had a reservation which they did not. This is a busy place. The good is great! The watermelon salad was very good. The lobster filled ravioli was even better. Service was good as well.

There's a reason there's always a wait at Pepe's. It's got great food, incredible sauces, and a staff that goes out of the way to please. For instance, because my chicken piccata was a little late, they comp'd it! My wife's calamari was perfect and my chicken and pasta was wonderful.

Best Pasta In Manhattan Nice and little trattoria The staff are friendly and funny always crowded at evening so expect half hour wait everything is delicious and affordable the pasta is the best in Manhattan (for a mid-range place)

Fresh pasta, good table wine, excellent specials. Very enjoyable dinner. The bread wasn't great, too soft for my taste, but everything else was delicious. We ordered calamari and asparagus appetizer. Lightly breaded and fried. Tried four delifferent pastas - cavatelli, papardelle, strozza*, rigatoni- all delicious.

Staff were friendly, ambience fun, and they have great pasta - we had black linguine with shrimp in arrabiatta sauce and spaghetti bolognese with a carafe of Lambrusco wine. They make sure you know they don't have diet coke, no decaf coffee, no skim milk and only good food! Must be true, it's written on the menu!

Really cosy place with great food and service. The menu is simple which is good and the food is very tasty. The Nutella tiramisu is a must for desert!

Discovered this little gem 2 years ago and have gone back at least two times every time I visit NY. So many tourist type places in Little Italy -- but this is not one -- wonderful menu items and specials and a great team of chefs and servers.

The service was excellent and the food delicious, a perfect combination for New Year's Eve. The staff was so friendly and the environment was very nice.

I had such a great time with my friend there ! The place is small and therefore tables are close to one an other, but you can find a kind of more "private spot" if you are 2 ! Staff is really nice and fast to take your order ! Food was really Nice and typically italian , it's a cute little place ! Enjoy !!

Short version, go for the pasta dishes and skip the antipasti or dessert. Can't comment on other main dishes. Long version: The restaurant is small.... I went there with total 7 people in our group. With such a group, I called ahead and made a reservation. They were good enough to accommodate a big group for such a small place. However, our table was crowded such that I felt hard to move my arms around. Service was good compared to being a busy restaurant. Being a big group, we ordered varieties of stuff and a bottle of wine. I think the wine was the Sangiovese but not sure. It was disappointing so maybe I should have asked for recommendations. The Antipasti was just ok. We ordered Fried Calamari which is what you can normally expect. Wild mushroom bruschetta was just two pieces of bread with sauteed mushrooms on top and came cold. Fishballs with tomato sauce had a fishy taste. (I normally like fish dishes) Pasta dishes were good. Again, we ordered different varieties and I liked all of them. If I go there next time, I would skip all the other food and just go for the pasta. We ordered creme brulee and tiramisu for dessert. Nothing exciting about them. They were small portion compared to the price similar to antipasti dishes. I felt it was overpriced for the overall quality. I wouldn't go back excitingly but would give it a second chance with reserved expectations.

After wandering around SoHo and Little Italy all morning we were ready for some good Italian food, and Pepe Rosso did not disappoint. It's off the beaten path and it's tiny, but I'm so happy we found it. It was a Sunday afternoon and the menu was limited, but the dishes we had (spaghetti with basil & tomato, and fettuccini with mushrooms and truffle oil) were outstanding. Lunch for 3 was about $35. The staff were also very friendly and the service was great. I wish we could have gone back when the full menu was available (Sundays they serve brunch until 3:00) to try some of the other dishes they offer... Maybe next time! Highly recommended.

Second time here. Love the pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil. The ambient is very cozy and familiar. The chef is always around and loves to talk... :)

On a recent Spring Break trip with my sons (age 6, 11, and 13), we explored Little Italy and stopped here for dinner, based on a referral from a guy at the Supreme (skateboard) store in Brooklyn. We were glad we did! It was a delicious meal and the service was great. The waiter worked with me on ordering for my kids, who were requesting things that weren't on the menu. The calamari was our favorite and we devoured them in seconds. Everything was fresh and delicious and the prices were fair for NYC. I would go here again on my next trip to NYC.

While visiting China town and little Italy we needed a small and cheap lunch. The restaurant is really charming the food was very fresh and the service so sincerely friendly. We had pasta and a drink for a nice price it was good enough for a lunch before to continue our visit Tks Pepe Rosso !

This was the most authentic antipasto we have ever had. Chilled bottles of water set at your table. Bread to dip in oil, spices and balsamic vinegar. The grilled pear salad was fabulous. Penne and eggplant was excellent. Charming tin ceiling. Clean large bathroom, with a Toto toilet. Prices were very reasonable. Service was perfect. Five Stars *****

The food is reasonable but not great. The bread was a little dirty and the "spinach" that was supposed to accompany the salmon special was "Swiss chard". When we asked for spinach, it was like we were from Mars. We received absolutely tasteless boiled spinach. And we asked for mashed potatoes we received boiled potatoes. When asked again for mashed we were told they didn't have mashed. But the reason we won't be back is because when we asked for more champagne sauce, they charged us additional $3!!!!! With thousands of great Italian restaurants in NYC, you can skip this one.

The restaurant was pleasant, the service was excellent, the menu choices were not vegetarian friendly, and my spaghetti was very under-cooked. Perhaps this was the chef's idea of al dente, but to my taste, the pasta was very chewy and doughy tasting... not at all pleasant. The sauce was very good and would have earned the dish high marks but for the shoelaces under it. I have never experienced this in any of the Italian restaurants in Philadelphia. In fairness, my companions had better luck with non-pasta dishes, but there were no raves here.

Found this place while exploring and it was surprisingly nice. Despite the football theme it wasn't over bearing.

We chose 3 different entrees so we could all have sampler tasting of this menu. The fettuccine with mushrooms and olive oil was awesome, and very light. The spaghetti with bolognese sauce was also very tasty, could have used a bit more sauce. The grilled chicken panini with red peppers, mozzarella cheese and pesto was a huge portion, and it comes with home made potato chips. They serve small portions of bread and olive oil/balsamic vinegar as dipping sauce. We had ice water, and the bill was only $37 before tip. I rated this our best meal value during our 5 day stay in NYC!

After walking half of Central Park we met up with friends from New Jersey who took us to The Cloisters, drove thru Times Square, and decided to eat in Little Italy. They found Pepe Rosso Social. Nice cozy atmosphere, not too crowded for a Satirday night. I wanted to try the Spaghetti with Bolagnese Sauce. It was average and I was surprised it had no distinct flavor. I would expect something more better than what I cook at home. Next time I'll try something else.

This restaurant has recently opened a second space next door and downstairs and we could not have been more pleased. We were looking for a good place for Italian food to celebrate a birthday. We had the back circular banquet (as well as the restaurant for quite a while) which felt private but not isolated. The service was excellent- warm, friendly, knowledgeable. The manager Andrea was quick to recommend the perfect wines for our entrees and made us feel welcome. After excellent meals (try the pasta with oxtail) he surprised us with birthday desserts on the house which were excellent (tiramisu and pan a cotta with berry sauce. The value for he meal, especially for NYC, was exceptional. We look forward to going back

This is a great Italian restaurant. I had the Penne Tre Porcellini and it was excellent! I The service was also good. The chef is the one that brought out our food, which was a pleasant surprise. Everything was great about this restaurant including the price. I definitely recommend.

We had a lovely dinner here on a Monday night. We didn't need reservations, but it was Monday and we arrived around 9:00. It was mid December and the restaurant was decorated beautifully. We had salads and pastas and enjoyed both dishes. The service was prompt and polite, the menu had lots of options, and the music was just right. There was even a Yule Log burning on the tv. We enjoyed our meal very much and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

First off I LOVED this place. I would give it 5 stars. But the 3 others with me weren't quite as thrilled. If you're a tourist maybe this isn't your best choice. It's a bit off the beaten path between true Little Italy and the boarder of Chinatown. The food was authentic and the servers/host/manager seemed to be the real deal as well. I had the slow roasted pork and it was amazing. A side of pasta wasn't offered but I got it as well. Too much for one guy (who likes to eat) so maybe share. It's very small but try and sit towards the front and they open up the front window and you don't feel the smallness quite so much. I would definitely repeat. The others like their food but I think the atmosphere was a bit off-putting for them.

My friend and I went there on the last night I was in New York City. I called ahead, they do not take reservations, but they said it was only a 20 minute wait. When we got there the bartender, from Rome, suggested a bottle of cabernet while we wait. It was fantastic. After about 8-10 minutes we were seated. The Chef, from Milan, took our order and chatted with me for a few minutes. I ordered the Burrata and Penne Vodka. Both were to die for. Possibly the best penne vodka I've ever had. Only thing is, I wish I had room for dessert!

Great Italian spot that makes you feel at home. Their house wine was delicious and reasonably priced. Order from the specials menu - you won't be disappointed.

nice atmosphere more hispanish that Italian...they tell you that they serve fresh pasta but it's a pre-cook pasta...chewy and with no flavor...I got pesto but it was only minced basil leafs with a lots of water...not racomanded

Every time I visit New York, I carve out an hour or two to go to my favorite Italian spot in the city. You might think "Little Italy, that's too touristy!" This place is one block of the beaten path and is by far the best spot in Little Italy for Italian food. The food is delicious and you get some fine quality food for the price. You have to go to understand what I mean.

The food is very good. The service is quick and efficient. Everyone has been very nice with us.... And it's not expensive !! You should go and test the raviolis

Small restaurant and our server was friendly. Salmon was delicious but the Chicken Al Limone was tough.

I had read some reviews online and the restaurant was close to our hotel. They took a reservation for a Monday evening for 5. The place is small, so I recommend that you make a reservation, since several walk-ins got shut out, as did we on my first try. They have some very nice specials that we tried. I think their Kale Caesar Salad was an excellent surprise. I would return. Prices are very reasonable and portions are good.

This place was amazing. The chef came out and met our boys and explained their dish to them. The menu is well thought out and the food is unbelievable. The gnocchi is the best I've had!

My wife and I and another couple were in the neighborhood for a Bowery Ballroom concert on Sat evening and decided to pop by to see if they could squeeze us in without a reservation. We had read that the place was small and being a Sat., we thought there was a good chance we would be turned away. Well, we were fortunate and they fit us in a nice little table for 4. All of us enjoyed our meals immensely. We enjoyed some wine, a couple of appetizers (some of the freshest.most delicious buffalo mozz ever with some speck and portobello, and an eggplant parm appy where the sauce was to die for) and our pasta dishes along with a couple of desserts. I had the cavatelli with chorizo and clams special and it was one of the best pasta dishes I have had. Others tried a rigatoni with eggplant, tomato and ricotta and a penne ala vodka and they all loved them. All of our pastas were done perfectly and had amazing flavors with simple presentations. The service was very good and friendly as well. A truly memorable night with friends. We will without a doubt go back the next time we are in the vicinity.

Walked down Mulberry Street in Little Italy and every eatery was wanting us to eat at there place - knew there was a problem with that - tourist traps-found Rosso social and it is a small place with great atmosphere and food -just loved this eatery!!!

We were looking for a good non-tourist spot for dinner in Little Italy - Pepe Rosso Social was wonderful. The service was great, the food and wine were superb !!!

Stopped off here by chance when we saw the advert outside for a lunchtime special, soup and salad or pasta for panini for $9. Loved the decor and seating. Wooden benches and chairs. Lots of wine bottles on show! We both had the soup which was zucchini and potato, it was tasty, warming and filling. My other half had the pasta and I had the panini with roasted vegetables, I found the portion far to generous and could have done with a panini half the size. This was served with crisps. The penne with mozzarella and tomato was enjoyed although my other half thought there could have been more mozzarella in the dish. We shared a half litre of house red and enjoyed it, it was good value as well. (If it had been happy hour it would have been even better value!) We enjoyed our visit but guys, come on, keep the door shut! On a cold day it was freezing when the door was left open.

wife, myself, son, and his girlfriend ate there 12/2/16. great setting and our waiter, Alex was excellent. Nice 1/2 bottle of red for about $21. Problem is food was just ok. If food was better, would go back there in a New York Minute

Loved the atmosphere and the great service. We had three specials for that day and liked every one (linguini seafood, risotto shrimp/asparagus, snapper). Also had a carafe of the house pinot grigio and a light (buffalo mozzarella, prosciutto, tomatoes).

Such a great find in Little Italy. They have fantastic food with great ambiance for being located in such a busy area. Great prices and enjoyable place to go. Highly recommend stopping by.

Found this place accidentally when out in Little Italy. Even though it's off the beaten path, the place is very nicely decorated and the service was wonderful. They had a burrata special that was easily one of the best appetizers I've ever consumed. For my entree I selected the oxtail ragu which was very flavorful and extremely well-cooked. I also thought the prices were VERY reasonable for the area and the quality of food. Their house red (at $4/glass) is absolutely fantastic, and a very good deal!

What a great little restaurant! Really friendly staff and more importantly, amazing food! Came recommended to us and we loved it here!!

We were a table of 5. Everyone absolutely loved their dish and we had 2 native Italian New Yorkers plus 3 visiting from out of state. Atmosphere was nice and service was helpful. Highly recommend for locals as well as out of towners. For a party of 5, food plus wine was extremely reasonably priced. Located just a block or two from "little Italy".

My experience at this restaurant was mediocre. Average food, average service, at above average prices.

Had a dinner here with my sales team while in NYC for business recently. Location is in the heart of Chinatown on one of two streets that are still considered "Little Italy". Fairly close to several subway stops, and lots of Uber cars running around the area. One note: don't be discouraged from coming to this area at night and walking around. It looks a bit run down, but is a lot of fun to see the different cultures interacting. Great, creative menu that is very reasonably priced compared to a lot of the Italian restaurants uptown. Typical small Italian restaurant--your right next to each other here and if you're a tall person, it can be tight! The staff was very nice and let us talk and have our meal without interrupting. They were even patient as some of us tried out our fledgling Italian. I will definitely return the next time I'm in the City.
delicious meal, won't break the bank
Went on a Friday night, no reservation in hand. We were treated wonderfully. Short wait for a table, a little bit of tight quarters as the restaurant was full. Service was great and the food was delicious. Wine by the glass was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was like a big family dinner table.
