On a recent visit to the new Perrine restaurant nestled in the world class Pierre hotel on fifth avenue I had hands down one the the best tuna tartare ever , so good it should be the signature dish , fresh served with haricots verts cucumber basil olives and topped with a Dijon dressing truly a perfect lunch , that left me with a sense of coming back to try the entire menu with friends . Ashfer the executive chef is from India and worked with the Taj group it shows in its mastery of the spices from all continent . Merci Chef for a swatic experience and Namaste ! Pascalpicks

My friends and I enjoyed a wonderful NYC Restaurant Week dinner at Perrine. The onion soup was delicious. The branzino was excellent. And the molten chocolate cake was fabulous. Our server was very patient and helpful. We were not rushed at all. Our waiter gave us very good recommendations. The restaurant decor is very elegant.

Perrine is a very nice, high end, yet relaxed and joyful restaurant. We enjoyed the Perrine salad; fresh, crispy, full of flavour. The short ribs were mouthwatering and perfectly cooked, while the seafood past beyond description. Thee kale side for the ribs a very suitable addition. Service was friendly, professional and discrete. A very pleasant evening. A dinner to remember.

We had breakfast several days in a row, and an excellent dinner. The service staff ( different folks at the two different service times) were perfect. I really was shocked because I had no expectation. There was not one element of any of our meals that was not perfect. We can’t wait to come back. I will say- the only slight negative was the wine list. It just wasn’t very extensive. There are a few good things on the list that are way overpriced. But if you are careful in your selection, there are some good surprises to be found.

Great location. Great food. Lovely staff. But the best thing for a business lunch is that the surroundings are very good for quiet conversation. Tables are not too close and the quiet, elegant environment seems to dampen sound. Since I have trouble hearing in crowded situations, this was just such a relief.

French food is all about the sauces. And Perrine knows how to do it at its best. Also, the desserts are best pastries among any restaurant. Only drawback is that a single glass of wine sets you back $20. Correct this and you have a really great restaurant.

Great place for dinner. The ambiance is great, vintage but in amazing condition. The food was exceptional and the service really professional. Pasta with shrimps was truly tasty and beef was melting. The place was not very busy, so not very noisy. It’s a great option for French American fine dining

What can we say, from the moment we walked in we were treated like Royalty. We were visiting the Perrine to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary after staying at the Pierre the previous year where we dined on our wedding day. We were met by Nicholas who led us to our table, made us feel very welcomed and provided the reassurance that tonight was going to be special. He certainly did, along with our servers; Luis Apaujo, Gerardo and Julio; each added their own touch to make it a magical experience, whether it was attentive service, taking photos or making menu recommendations. To add to the evening, we were presented with a dessert which had been specially made by the pastry chef Michael - it was amazing; a dessert slice encompassed in a chocolate dome adorned with a chocolate plaque that read Happy Anniversary! A true work of art. A huge thanks to Meghan for organising it all and to Yvette who phoned us on the day to wish us a Happy Anniversary, unfortunately we did not get the message until we arrived home, but such a special thought. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! We love the staff at the Perrine/Pierre! The staff are attentive, caring and really go out of their way to make everything just right. They are like a second family! A sincere thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our 1st anniversary an unforgettable memory and one we will treasure for years to come.

I dined here whilst staying at The Pierre. I was lucky to be in NY during Restaurant Week and the offering at Perrine was really good. The white linens and simple set up allows you to enjoy the presentation of the food. Most importantly it tasted excellent and this is a great place to come for an elegant and intimate dinner.

I have been search more healthy cooking in NYC , I found a great deal in Travelzoo, decided to give it a try, I invited my client to join my dinner, she is a vegetarian and very happy for what she have that three course meal , I mainly liked my Black Sea Bass, just cooked prefect, but the breakfast so so, service great but totally overpriced ! Bar not too bad , love the Italian dessert wine & Creme brûlée, will come back some day !

We visited late one night and were not disappointed with a single thing that crossed our lips. The service was of the highest standard. Each morsel of food was delightful and worth every penny. It is not cheap to eat here, but the memory rates highly. Also, since you are right across from Central Park, the view is amazing, too.

This restaurant knows the importance of a great bar, knowledgeable skilled bartender and an innovative menu. It is amazing to find a restaurant this close to the center of the action that is interested in acknowledging educated palates and diners who seek a dining room rather than a club house. The prices are 5th Avenue prices and this may not be be families, but it's a site to visit more than once.

We had a fantastic dinner and drinks. The food was outstanding and our waiter Jauses was extremely helpful and competent. High marks to Nicholas Bodnar the Food & Beverage Manager, Jauses and Miguel our bar tender. We highly recommend and will be returning. Thank you all for a fabulous evening.

We had a good Christmas dinner with the family at Perrine, a restaurant within The Pierre a Taj. The mushroom bisque had the right consistency and good flavors. I thought the halibut was nicely cooked and presented in an elegant fashion. My problem was with the dessert. The buche de Noel was subpar to put it nicely. The service was very good and our waiter was engaging. We had a good time and I think their dishes are pretty good. However, in a competitive city like New York, they need to be excellent in all courses including the desserts.

We had a late lunch at the Perrine, part of the Pierre Hotel in New York. We ate from the brunch menu, which had plenty of choice. The quality of the food and service was first class. Definitely a place to visit.

We had a wonderful relaxing dinner here the night before my daughters wedding. Highly recommend. Everyone was happy with the food and service.

What a great place for an afternoon glass of wine! The selections were well though out and chosen, the wines were superb, and the service was perfect. Even the bar nuts were way above average. The atmosphere is terrific. Of course the location is great -- in the Pierre, on Fifth Avenue. Yes, the prices were high, but this is NY and it is a top spot. Nothing could have been better.

We had an evening private party with great results. Outstanding food and service. The location is linked to an astonishing hotel dining room which was set up for a marriage. Enjoy!

We met our family friends for lunch here and it was great. The selections were limited but sufficient and the service was very good.

Always wanted to visit here but never seemed to have time until today! Stopped for a beer or two in the fabulous bar and decided to stay for lunch. Everything from arrival to departure is fabulous. Excellent staff who are friendly, professional and courteous at the bar and at the tables. The menu has a wide range of selections and whilst expensive is not crazy. We paid $270 for 2 people with a great bottle of Malbec, I thought this was ok given the environment and attention.

We had dinner in the Perrine. Good food from a good menu and an extensive wine list It gets quite busy ( it was a Friday evening) so glad we reserved a table. Attentive high standard service Good location if you are near Central Park area

We're definitely going to return to Perrine. The food is just delicious and the staff is gracious and helpful. Try the squash soup, the chicken paillard, the Coronation chicken!

Elegant . Good service . Polite . WiFi. Intimate . Lamb chops weren’t the greatest. My best is still lamb chops in Colorado - medium . Moody and romantic. No views and no live music. Not sure about valet. Credit card facilities. Attached to hotel

Had dinner whiilel staying at the Pierre with a party of four. I had made reservations with the concierge and while having drinks at the HOtel bar, I had told the hostess to advise that I would be arriving 30 minutes late to the restaurant. Upon arriving to Perrine restaurant I was inmediately accomodated in our table and was told they had been advised about our delay ( good service ) Food was great, I had the matured steak, while we all shared a great wine Chateau de la Gardine. The best part of the dinner was the excellent service provided by our waiter by the name GERARDO, who provided suggestions, and serviced our table in a professional and timely manner. Over all he and his colleagues made our night at the Perrine restaurant a memorable one. Thank you .

Breakfast at Perrine, from 7am on, even when you are not a guest at the hotel, is wonderful. Tons of room to lay out your newspaper (which is graciously offered, by the way). All the perfectly brewed coffee you want and I go for the eggs benedict. Perfectly cooked, the sauce just right and not an obscene portion either. The service is lovely and no pressure to free up the table which, in New York, is exceptional.

Complete fraud!!!! They promise you a beautiful rotunda and require you to prepay USD125 per person only to tell you on arrival that that space in all the pictures is NEVER available because there is a SHORTAGE of staff!!! Even when you call and confirm they don’t tell you! USD125 per head high tea at an old fun down “restaurant” more like coffee shop!!!!! Fraud, beware!!!!! avoid this trap hotel at all costs!!!!!

We had spent a lot of evenings in this restaurant the last time we were in New York, staying at the Pierre, the hotel this restaurant is located in. It's been only a couple of months since they've re-opened and re-branded the place as French. The crew is still much the same, the food still delicious. And Sirio isn't "dead", it's simply moved further down to the East River, near the Bloomberg tower.

We came Saturday attracted by a board in front of the restaurant announcing special prices for lunch. The restaurant was practically empty. The waiter who approached us told us that this pricing was for weekdays only, although the board did not specify that, which we told him. Well, he went out to check and yes, we got the special pricing and the food was plenty and good.

We were walking to Hunter college for a Gilbert /Sullivan show on a Saturday ,my wife asked Siri for the closest French restaurent , and was directed to this nice place in the Piere Hotel for lunch. The decor is modern with a touch of history of this fine hotel. The service is very good and friendly . They serve all three meals a day as they function as the hotel main restaurent. The Lunch menu is simple with good choices. .We also looked at the dinner menu ,a more attractive offerings with daily special ( like Dover sole etc ). We wanted a quick lunch as we were heading to the show , burger on salad , french toast , tuna tartar and almond milk Panna cotta all tasty and nicely presented . Novel selection on glasses of wine too We plan to be back , this is exactly the kind of food and service that make us feel at home

I have been wanting to go to Perrine for years constantly passing it while on business in Manhattan. I had always wanted to try it and it had been on my bucket list. When my recent birthday rolled around I decided to finally try it. What a birthday dinner! The food and the service were wonderful and my waiter was a really nice guy. I had been eyeing the Perrine Burger on the menu on the last several trips and ordered it with an unsweetened ice tea. What a treat. This was no ordinary hamburger. It was a combination of prime meat and short rib and was about two inches thick on a freshly made roll. The burger was perfectly cooked and caramelized. It was delicious. For dessert I had an Apple Galette with freshly made ice cream. It was fantastic. Sweet and tart at the same time with a delicious vanilla sauce . It was the perfect meal.

Had an intimate dinner date with my wife and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere. We liked the appetizers of octopus, but our main course was so-so. But savored the deserts. Service was wonderful, and having drinks at their rotunda after diner was also a mini treat.

The berries are always fresh and the waiters are always super attentive at this haute boite next to the park

We dropped on this bar/restaurant by chance. Had very nice drinks and cocktails the first visit and on our second visit also had some delicious bar food - hams and cheeses selection and salmon rillette. The bartenders on both occasions were both skilled and very pleasant, taking time to explain the signature/house cocktail (Oscar Haimo) which was terrific.

We stayed at the Pierre for 5 nights over New Year and dined at the Perrine every morning for breakfast. Unfortunately the front of house (a man and woman alternated during our stay but neither an improvement on the other) were very frosty, even despite us being hotel guests, and completely uninterested in welcoming us, explaining the menu, or helping us make reservations for the rest of our stay, which was not a nice way to start our morning. The food was OK - the kitchen was often out of / not serving dishes from the Indian menu which we were looking forward to, whilst on multiple occasions our order was taken incorrectly and / or served cold and /or at different times to each of the family. The poached eggs were always served perfectly runny which was great and their fruit salad was fresh and generous. If breakfast is not included in your room rate, I’d recommend going for breakfast at a nearby deli instead (Oxford Cafe has been a favourite on previous trips) where you’ll get better service, variety, and quality for a lower price and a more authentic NYC experience.

A lovely venue, I noticed a number of very smartly dressed ladies dining at various tables. So New York.

Elegance and good food. Not inexpensive, but treat yourself while staying at The iconic Pierre Hotel in NYC

I enjoyed an excellent breakfast during my stay, the food was fresh and delicious, and the service was prompt and courteous.

My wife and I visited Perrine for dinner. The decoration and atmosphere are quite elegant. Fortunately the environment is quiet and soothing. Our dinners were delicious. I ordered halibut for my main course and it was cooked to perfection. The ingredients of all of our courses were of a high quality. The only disappointment was the uneven level of service. For much of the meal our waiter offered top notch service. Then his attitude would abruptly turn to being rather rude. I guess that something went wrong and he became unhappy. But I don't think this is appropriate behavior under any circumstances. Unfortunately this situation diminished the experience.

I was in New York the weekend before Christmas staying at The Pierre. I arrived at 6:30 pm on the Acela from Boston. It was snowing and waited for a cab for over an hour. Arrived at the hotel after 8 pm . We decided to eat at the restaurant at 9pm . The service was impeccable. I had asparagus with white truffles as an appetizer and the lamb . My niece salad and chicken curry . We had champagne and a Bordeaux for the main course. Food was excellent .

After a day in the Central Park area museums, a leisurely cocktail to reflect upon all that had been seen and felt was in order. Quite by accident, and happily so, I discovered Perrine: a beautifully appointed restaurant/bar nestled within the Pierre Hotel. What else to have--given the location--than a Manhattan! Server Sergio delivered a libation that followed my desires to a T: “Jack” [bourbon] is fine, but please stir in some ice, then remove the cubes.” The later instruction has to be made, I find, when ordering “straight up”, otherwise the cocktail comes back full of uncooled heat. Cheers to another occasion to mix fine art with first-rate spirits!

Had an opportunity to have a family lunch at the restaurant, it’s a wonderful place and a great staff. The food is very delicious and service is world class. The food is French and there is an Indian option as well, the ambience is brilliant and a walk around the dome is worth an experience.

There are some nice dishes here, and the service is usually prompt. I liked their take on huevos rancheros, and you can get real masala chai (not that soft drink concoction that often goes by "chai tea latte"). However--read my review of the Pierre Hotel--on occasion it just seems that requests of diners are, well, not heard.

The dining room was busy but it wasn't noisy at all. The staff was attentive and courteous, and the service was well paced, leisurely but not sluggish. Our dinners were nicely presented and yummy! T

Wow!! I was so excited to take my son out to the Pierre Hotel today for brunch to celebrate last evening’s vocal recital but I was so disappointed. First disappointment was that the nice room was under construction so we got put in a room that looked like a little diner nothing special. The food was good but they abandoned us on the service midway through the meal. I overheard them say that three members of the wait staff were on break and the rest were dealing with a large party in the back. As a result, I never got the sour dough bread with my omelette, my son tried several times to get more water and didn’t get it until the end of the meal. For the three of us it was over $180 which, even though it was a lot, would have been fine if we had received the 5 star service we would expect from the Pierre hotel.

This is in the Pierre Hotel and in a great location on Fifth Avenue. We stopped in for lunch and I ordered the Pierre Burger Salad. A nine ounce burger over a salad with a sherry vinaigrette dressing. It was one of the best burgers I have ever had anywhere! As a special indulgence for skipping the bun with my burger, I had the bananas foster ice cream. Quite amazing - all the flavors of bananas foster wrapped up in ice cream. Great service - a wonderful atmosphere and amazing food. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is in a sophisticated ambience, good is delicious, but most of all is the nice warmth of the people who works there. From the manner to waiters they were all very friendly and ready to serve, explain courses, select wine and desert. All too special for a romantic evening.

Great waiter with a vast knowledge of the hotel and restaurant history. Wine and food was delicious. Our entrees were sea bass and chicken curry. The restaurant has an Indian flair. We enjoyed our dinner so much that we returned the following morning for brunch.

This lovely little bar serves great drinks and a short list of bar foods. In the days when the venue was a full scale restaurant as part of the hotel, we had a Thanksgiving dinner there, and stopped by once a year to just enjoy the elegance. Now the building is a condo apartment house, but the bar is still elegant and the place has had a major face lift. Walk in Central Park for an hour, then come here for true New York City elegance. Great service still.

The Perrine food was very good, but the standard of service let it down. No offer to check out coats. Although the restaurant was basically empty we were taken to a table directly in front of the wait staff service station. We had to ask to have our glasses refilled even though we had bought a bottle. For a 5 star hotels flagship restaurant the service we received was mediocre to say the least.

While we were at the Pierre Hotel in NYC, we got the chance to have breakfast at the Perrine Restaurant. The food is not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavor, and the menu has a nice blend of French and American cuisine. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant has a lovely charm that matches the Hotel's ambiance. We had an omelet and the classic Eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious.

We received room service from Perrine numerous times during a two week stay at The Pierre. The food was delicious and well worth the price.

Went to Perrine for lunch last week. A nice restaurant with modern decor although the ceiling appeared to be rather low. We were welcomed politely and ushered to our table promptly. We settled for the 3 course Express Lunch Menu. We also ordered a glass of champagne for my wife and for me a St. Emilion (Bordeaux) red which was poured out of an attractive 100ml flacon (I got to bring the flacon as a souvenir). My wife had ordered a Kale Caesar Salad which came with shavings of Parmesan cheese and thin sourdough croutons. My Coronation Chicken appetiser was a curried chicken salad with raisins. Both were very delicious. Our entree of Palliard Chicken with arugula and a lemon vinaigrette dressing was delicious albeit a bit dry. The third and final course was a perfectly baked Black Cherry Tart with a delicately flavoured lemon ice cream. A wonderful gastronomic experience on a lazy September afternoon (you see we are retired) right next to Central Park. And that's where we went for a nice stroll savouring all the flavours.

Great food in NYC. Loved their gluten-free bread. The chef customized some items to be gluten-free. Indian items on the menu were quite nicely prepared.

Perrine is a quiet, elegant restaurant with impeccable service. Its a perfect place to go to when one is looking for good food, great ambience, refined surroundings and quiet atmosphere for easy conversations.

Loved our morning breakfasts here during our stay at The Pierre, without a doubt! However, my husband and I also loved every evening that we stopped in to the long bar at the Perrine for a nightcap! Both Sergio and Miguel were stellar bartenders and mixologists of the best Manhattans! We had such a great time in this cozy bar (and restaurant) that we came back to grab a glass of champagne to sip while we packed the morning of our check out!

An elegant oasis from the hustle and bustle attached to the Pierre but with its own entrance on 61st. Tables are well-spaced, allowing for private conversations. I did not find the food to be anything special and the service included one of my companion's entree orders being bungled. It's the ambience that's distinctive, the rest is competent but not memorable.

What a treat it was to dine in this little gem in the Pierre Hotel, right in the heart of the Christmas bustle, yet it feels miles away! The service was impeccable: friendly yet professional, with a bit of history of the hotel shared, which we loved. We had two of their delicious salads: Grilled Shrimp, and Coronation Chicken, and the curry in the chicken salad was like none other- so pungent and flavorful. A couple glasses of wine, their beautiful breads, and not feeling rushed, like you do in many other places, made this the break we needed! Topped off with the Chocolate Pecan Tart, and Rum Savarin, and rich, dark coffee, a bit of heaven! The chefs here are so talented, the dishes are flavorful and beautifully presented, no wonder it appeared that the locals eat here, too! I will definitely return when in NYC again!

We had breakfast each morning of our four night stay at The Pierre and had a dinner for seven one of the nights. All I can say is that everything was perfectly served and delicious. All of our guests were happy.

The food presentation is impressive and service from the staff is of extremely high caliber. The portions are typical French and some dishes have a pleasant hint of Indian spices. The desserts are exceptional. This is a great restaurant for a special occasion. I feel the menu has fewer options compared to some other places, but it seems whatever is served is well presented and delicious.

We spent over $150 for breakfast for 3 people. All the food was very average. Would not ever go again.

I love coming to the Perrine. The food has always been good, everyone working there is friendly, professional and attentive. The interior is calm and comfortable. It's not too loud either..you can actually have a convservation and hear the people sitting at your table. It's great for a meeting too.

We stay regularly in the Pierre Hotel but it’s been a while since we had dinner there. A new menu, perhaps different management of the restaurant - has taken a good restaurant up a few notches. The food was absolutely excellent, with a very attractive menu. We are looking forward to returning.

Perrine is a good restaurant, but I really expected better. I found the decor a little bland. The appetizer, green gazpacho, was interesting, but I found the grilled lobster and frites too salty. For dessert I had the warm chocolate cake, and this was excellent. Service was ok, but not very attentive, maybe because it was a Sunday night, but I had to call waiters more than once. They forgot to bring a spoon for my gazpacho, or refill my glass of white wine, which was not by the table. Also I had to ask for a plate for the lobster shell. They were nice, but seem to be more interested in chatting among themselves than paying attention to the tables.

Children had brioche french toast, pancakes, bacon. Pancakes made in an iron skillet. Crunchy on outside, soft on inside. Nice freshly squeezed OJ. Pleased.

I've always wanted to dine at the Pierre Hotel and the recent NY restaurant week promotion was a good opportunity without burning a hole in my wallet. The seared tuna salad was cooked to perfection, however the garden salad was too salty for my friend's liking. My loup de mer with it's crispy skin was delish. Service was on point but my dining experience was somewhat marred by the constant draft of air whenever the entry door was opened.

Nice business lunch at Perrine: food was delicious but the restaurant itself was a bit disappointing. I would have love to be seated in the special area where they host the Tea Time, with the painted walls. Very good meal (I had the salmon) and excellent service.

This was my first stay at The Pierre; and as a Virtuosos guest continental breakfast was included. The hostess and Italian head waiter in Perrine were so welcoming and professional. On the second morning, he remembered my coffee preference and made me feel I was a valued customer as many years standing. Would highly recommend.

First thing first, right off the bat - Perrine serves a good, delicious, and timelessly reliable food. Whether the food and the menu are on par with the luxurious hotel (The Pierre) where the restaurant is located is a different question. Again, almost every dish we got to sample was delectable, with the SPRING CHICKEN (local farm raised chicken, white wine, pee-wee potatoes, mushroom, thyme) being arguably the best chicken we have ever had. Both appetizers, CHAR-GRILLED OCTOPUS (kale & pomegranate salad, citrus, yogurt, red pepper sauce) and PERRINE SALAD (mixed greens, baby carrots, radishes, Comté cheese, sherry vinaigrette) were excellent too, and so were the desserts. However, in today's day and age of inventive gastronomy what we felt was lacking was the inventiveness, unique approach or artful plating, all of which make up today's foodie scene of any megapolis, and particularly NYC. Without it, our dinner's experience stayed what it was, just a regular good-quality meal. Also, the service, which is highly impeccable in the rest of The Pierre (Two-E Longe, for instance) deserved to be better. At no point, our servers inquired how was our food or offered to bring more bread, etc. The service doesn't qualify for more than 3 stars.

I arrived kind of late for breakfast and they brought me oatmeal perfectly made, with berries, rasins, brown sugar, milk and butter. Yum! Camomile tea and I was ready to face the day. The china is so elegant; Rosenthal.

Went there for lunch. The Pierre has a long way to go. Went to the restaurant for lunch. The gazpacho and pasta very ordinary. Service leaves A lot to be desired. Since there is a new general manager, hopefully things will improve soon.

This restaurant is part of the Pierre hotel opposite Central Park but does have its own entrance from the street. The standard of service from the service is second to none . The menu was good and the food certainly didn’t disappoint. I will definitely return, Brilliant. Recommended

Ate at this restaurant at lunchtime during NYC's restaurant week. The prix fix menu had a good number of choices. Each course was served with care and attention. Service was attentive but not overdone. Certainly a place to enjoy a special meal. The fact it was prix fix and restaurant week did not lower any of the high standards normally associated with Pierre Hotel and Perrine restaurant. Decor is modern and tables are decent way apart, so not on the top of fellow diners.

We had breakfast there every morning of our stay (included in our package) and it was always lovely. We had dinner there one evening as well and it was very nice: good food, beautifully served. Worth a visit.

Had breakfast lunch and dinner here and all food. Service always great and food enjoyable. Recommend the flatbread.

...not sure what the complaints I see are re high prices and avg. food. You are in one of the most expensive blocks on earth in a great hotel. Food was great. Service was exemplary. Environment is refined. The crab flatbread and chicken curry were great. I look forward to returning.

Intimate setting in the neighborhood of Central Park. Conveniently located with in walking distance to several hotels. Perrine has an eclectic menu to satisfy anyone's palate. I recommend the beets salad as an appetizer and sea bass or short rib for an entree. The apple tartare was probably the best part of the meal. Service was okay not what we expected, could be because it was restaurant week in NYC.

I was shocked when I read the menu - $45 for an entree, drink and dessert. That kind of good price at a quality restaurant is hard to come by, especially in NYC. I enjoyed my bellini and steak and eggs - though I have to say the steak was not as tender as I would have liked. Nevertheless, the presentation of the food was very tasteful, and the potatoes on the side were delicious. I also quite liked the pear frangipane tart for dessert. As many have noted, the staff were also exceptionally warm and friendly. Glad to have found a new great brunch spot in NYC!

Our first exposure to The Pierre and Perrine came as tourists when we visited New York City a few years back. As breathtaking as Manhattan is, a stay at The Pierre and dining at Perrine made it all the more special. Since moving permanently to NYC, Perrine has consistently been one of our go-to's, whether with out-of-town friends, or for a simple family night out. Perrine is not the place to experience extremely modern, quirky cuisine (albeit not a bad thing), and perhaps their desire to remain an ode to times of old can explain why they have not received as much recognition as deserved. Nonetheless, this a place where you can truly enjoy warm classics as well as modern staples. Our go-to favorites include the Crab Imperial Flatbread, Coquilles St. Jacques (on Fridays), and the Tuna Tartare. But you really can't go wrong with any of the simply-prepared dishes. The ambience of the space is refined and versatile to any occasion. Group of 10 friends from out of town? No problem. Power-dining with a client? Even better. Perrine is truly a place where you can impress guests with your "sophisticated" taste and knowledge of one of NYC's gems.

Excellent restaurant for a business breakfast. Conveniently located right off Central Park East. Excellent service, good food.

I went here because it was in the Pierre Hotel on the upper east side of Central Park. I have been going to the Pierre for many many years and have watched it changed hands to many times to remember. The bar, Perrine, is a intrinsic part of the history of the hotel. I was here for drinks after work. The bar is just as classic as it gets. Professional bartenders making classic old drinks and anything new your palette is in the mood for. It wasn't super crowded but you could easily imagine how when dinner time is closer the crowd comes in to enjoy. If you want to see what is was like to go to bar in the 50, 60's 70's give it a try. You won't be disappointed. BTW, Sergio makes a terrific gin martini.

Since we were staying at the Pierre, decided to enjoy Brunch at Perrine. Siet our server was both friendly and attentive. We had the eggs Benedict and ranchero eggs. Along with juice, coffee and toast we had more than enough to eat. You might find this pricey for brunch, almost $100 without tip, however the food was worth it. Highly recommend.

Only had breakfast at Perrine, but enjoyed it both times. Wait staff is well trained. Food is fresh and well prepared. Only downside is the price ($26 for an omelette).

A very memorable experience. I didn’t realize that it was a friend’s birthday when I booked. The venue couldn’t have been better! Elegant without being stuffy or pushy. The staff were so so kind— my turned asked a lot of questions from the ginger in her tea to the dishes that were on our table, and all questions and requests were taken care of gracefully and promptly. We ordered several dishes to share. It was a while back so I can’t recall the names but I had something with shrimp. Some pasta. Some salad. The point is, everything was delish. Yes it’s not cheap. But I’ll tell you it’s still cheaper than the Rose Bar at the Plaza where I thought the service was a little aloof/lacking. The atrium space was stunning! Looking forward to my next visit :)

A bit of an “accident” brought us to Perrine. We had spent the afternoon strolling Central Park, and had exited by the Zoo, walking down 5th Ave. It was a lovely Sunday in May, and the sunlight was filtering through the fresh leaves on the trees. Walking in front of a stately building, a gold leaf sign on a door, caught my attention. With the sunlight, and reflections, I mis-read it to be “St Pierre,” my wife’s maiden name. It was, in fact, “The Pierre.” We noticed that it was a Taj hotel, and as we are members of their loyalty program, and frequently stay at the Taj Campton in San Francisco, we could not resist stopping in. After a gracious tour of the beautiful property with our “hostess,” we ended up in the restaurant/bar, Perrine. Since our main goal, upon leaving Central Park, was to find wine, we ended up in just the right place. We sat at the bar, and were presented with the wine list by a very friendly bartender. Since we were dining early at a near-by restaurant, Daniel, we kept it light. Besides, we had to walk back to our hotel, about 8 blocks away. First, I have to say that the wine list, for B-T-G selections is not long, however, it is made up of some very interesting wines, and really, no one would make my “usual suspects list.” We passed on some of the Vintage Champagnes B-T-G, but instead ordered the Prestige Des Sacres Cuvée Dynastie Brut Blanc-de-Blanc (I was unfamiliar with this house), and the Taittinger Cuvée Prestige Brut. Next, I ordered a wine, with which I am very familiar, the Domaine Bouchard Pere et Fils Premier Cru Beaune du Château ‘14 (a lovely white Burgundy – Chardonnay), and premium B-T-G white wine at the Campton Place Bar in the San Francisco Taj Campton, and then the Mas de Daumas Gassac Haute Vallée du Gassac Languedoc Blanc ‘15 (Viognier). One of the first things that I noticed was that all of the wine stems were Riedel, and appeared to be their Vinum line – really a nice touch! In conversation, we found out that our bartender was deeply into wines, so the conversation did not stray too far from that subject. He was contemplating going for his Sommelier accreditation, and was planning to take that test in Phoenix, our place of residence. With a friendly bartender, and some lovely wines in front of me, I began to survey Perrine. It has two entrances, one from 5th Ave, which enters by the nice bar, and the other from the lobby of The Pierre, which enters the dining room area. While it’s one large room, each end has a slightly different personality: the bar area, while not dark, is darker than the main restaurant, and has a bit of a “gentleman’s club” feel to it, where the dining area has more windows, is brighter, and has a more “modern” feel, and especially with the décor and furniture – two different rooms in one. The staff in both, were dressed in a chef’s jacket, and dark trousers. They were all very elegant. Unfortunately, on this trip (which had already been shortened by 3 nights, due to business commitments), we had crammed in all of the dining that we could manage, so did not get to dine at Perrine, but have them on our “must-try” list, for our next visit. I was greatly impressed by everything that I saw, and experienced, and we will likely stay at the hotel next time too. Besides, I really want to see their full wine list, after flirting with the B-T-G list.

Loved the French Toast and fresh strawberries - they even offer u a choice of newspaper. (Love it!). Great coffee. Service is attentive but not overbearing.

Been a while since I was last here. Food and service was still up to its expected high standard. Round Table was a little tight for four people .

We ate at Perrine several times while we stayed at the Pierre Hotel. We had intended to visit many of the restaurants in the area. We found Perrine while exploring the hotel after checkin. The staff in the restaurant were extremely friendly and attentive. We actually looked forward going down for breakfast every morning.

We went in to celebrate my birthday. The food and presentation were spectacular. I started with the tuna tartar which melted in my mouth. As well as being wonderfully flavorable, the portion was very generous. The breads were great with wonderful texture, we were offered a refill which we gladly consumed. My wife had the butternut squash soup which vegan , different from the run of the mill cream based soup and delicious. For an entree we both had had the Black Sea bass which was beautifully prepared along with the accompanying vegetables. For dessert we both had the apple tart. The service was unobtrusive, prompt and friendly. We were serve by 4 or 5 who made sure our every need was attended. The art works throughout the restaurant are modern and quite good. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet so our conversation was pleasant even though the restaurant was full . From the moment we walked in we greeted by the tuxedoed maitre de and the handsome bar followed by the muted colors of the dining room. The table linens were starch whites of a thick damask and the glassware, silverware and China felt wonderful to dine with. All in all a wonderful dining experience.

This is a great spot for a truly excellent breakfast. Staff are stalwarts of the hotel and many have been there for years. Everything is good but my personal favourite is the huevos rancheros with gluten free toast and corn muffins and their delicious wellness juices with beetroot, kale and ginger, among other things. This place is a New York institution!

I had read that the restaurant had a relatively new chef and from reading some of the other reviews my sense was that the restaurant may be in transition. However, we had had been running around the city all day and we just weren't up for leaving the hotel. (The ambiance of The Pierre can do that to you). That said, the dinner was wonderful...really wonderful and in the pricey world of New York fine dining, actually nicely priced. But far more important is that the restaurant is lovely, elegant and refined, but not at all stuffy....the staff was wonderful. Not only was the service good, but they were warm and personable. I did ask our waiter for his opinion on certain things- and I appreciated his candor steering me around the menu choices....we wound up ordering a Filet Mignon and Lamb Chops...not haute cuisine, but perfectly prepared- and satisfying. I could go on...but if you are staying at The Pierre, you should give it try. It may not be a destination restaurant yet, but if you are in mid-town its a fine choice in my book.

Located inside the Pierre Hotel this restaurant and bar services great food and fantastic cocktails in a beautiful atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and extremely attentive.

I have eaten great food all the world and I can affirm that Perrine holds its own with fine restaurants that value the best ingredients, artful simplicity and interesting combinations of textures and flavors. The wine list matched the food; the service was impeccable and the price was fair given the quality of the food, service and setting. We ate at Perrine after a stroll in Central Park and we were actually able to conduct a conversation away from the din and bustle of the city. I will return to this restaurant.

The specialty drinks and homemade juices are worth the visit alone!! Service was excellent and the space was very nice. I am very excited about going back.

My dining companion and I were greeted warmly by the hostess. We were seated immediately. The restaurant is somewhat narrow but very nicely decorated. The wait staff were extremely gracious and accommodating. We ordered cocktails prior to ordering our dinner-our drinks were excellent! The bread was warm and delicious. My friend and I ordered from the restaurant week menu. There were several dishes to choose from. My friend ordered the soup, chicken and flourless chocolate cake. I ordered the flatbread, lamb chops and the tart. My flatbread and lamb chops had an additional fee. We both enjoyed our choices. Chicken was moist and not dried out and my lamb chops were cooked just as I requested. The noise level was minimal and a welcome change to many of the restaurants I have dined in. Please try to dine at this restaurant. Service and quality of the food is very good!

We had a fantastic dinner here yesterday. Nice cozy place. Service was excellent and food delicious. Our waiter, Julio Paris, was very friendly , help us to select wine, explain courses . All of his suggestions were excellent! Looking forward to my next visit

Great Service and very hospitable staff, true Tajness at display. The salads and soup are great for a quick bite. Eggs Benedict and the multi grain toast make an awesome breakfast to start the day.

We had dinner at the restaurant this month and what a dissapointment! We had the daily special Beef Wellington and the puff pastry was "all" soggy. The other dish we ordered was the Malabar shrimp curry that supposed to feature "jumbo" shrimp. They were medium size at best and the naan served were either day/days old and reheated for our meal. Taj owns the hotel and probably the restaurant also and they cannot prepare a decent Indian curry dish???? Incredible!

Had brunch here for the first time and I must say that I will be back again soon. Really enjoyed our entire meal from start to finish. We opted for the 3 course brunch, so had an appetizer, main and finished it off with dessert. You really can't go wrong with a Taj property. Oh and the service was excellent as well! @traveleen_gurl

Perrine serves fabulous cocktails which we enjoyed outdoors on the terrace, excellent service and great location.

Newly opened at The Pierre hotel, it is a nice genteel refuge from the fifth and madison avenue traffic. The menu is friendly and approachable. The bread program could have been better. The twisted herb roll, while delicious, was cold and on the verge of getting hard. The Cornation Chicken was delicious as was a fruit savarin. Nice wine list but small.

do not waste your time. food is OK, nothing to rave about, service TERRIBLE. everyone is snobby and lazy. starting from the (non)hostess who change the table on us for no reason( table stayed empty through our dinner) without even asking for our name and reservation, and then started having dinner with friends with 3! waiters serving while I was pouring my own wine. waiters are no better, slow and unprofessional , felt too important to be bothered with customers. nice linens , that's about it. save your money and time . there are thousands good restaurants in New York , Perrine is NOT one of them

Enjoyed fabulous service and the kale and beet salad. My husband had the burger which was also exceptional.

We were staying at the Pierre hotel with breakfast included in our rate. The breakfast experience was excellent! We were greeted by the hostess immediately and asked if we would like newspapers to read. We had a great table with a nice view of the upper east side street outside. It was a very bright and pleasant atmosphere for breakfast. I wish I took our waiter's name--he was extremely attentive and friendly. I noticed he was this way with other tables as well, even speaking Italian to one family from Italy. The food was delicious. It had more interesting options than many standard hotels--including both Indian (the Taj Pierre is an Indian hotel brand) and Mexican options. We were also able to get croissants along with our toast, which were fresh and delicious! I love having a French pastry in the morning. Also--great coffee which was frequently refilled--another breakfast must!

Nice cozy place, not your typical New York restaurant crowd. Mostly hotel guest and some locals. Food was good and service was friendly.
Pricey but Competent
Had a breakfast and two dinners at the Perrine while staying at The Pierre. Breakfast is pricey but well executed. Nothing less than what one would expect after paying over $30 for eggs and sausage. Dinner was excellent for the most part. Our party tried lamb chops and Filet Mignon which were pronounced excellent. Likewise praise for the foie gras and oysters. The bread and rolls were outstanding. Desert was competent as well. The only quibble is that the fish portions were tiny compared to the price charged, no way sole and bass cost that much per ounce. Cocktails are well prepared but double digits. One night full dinner for four with three drinks weighed in at over $400. The atmosphere is casual white table cloth in one of New York's finest hotels and neighborhoods.
