Dependable Quality Affordable Dining!

By DiningWithWolfs |

Perry's is a great restaurant that has been a success for a long time in Brooklyn's famous Sheepshead Bay area of famous Brooklyn, New York. It has its own parking lot, which is a definite plus, but the angled parking and narrow space between both sides, makes parking a bit challenging. I think the slanted parking is because of the narrowness, and if the cars were straight, there would not be space to drive through. You definitely need to bring your top skills when you park in this lot! I have eaten in this location, all the way back to my kindergarten days when it was "The Trio" a long time ago. I have fond memories of my mom picking me up from a school, and taking me to lunch here every day. It's really a treat to be able to still eat here with her now! You will be greeted at the door, and shown a table. Perry himself is usually there, and is very gracious. There are booths on the left, and a full dining area with tables to the right. The counter used to span the entire back wall, but now there are large booths where half once was. The big booths are comfortable and give you plenty of room, especially for multiple plates on your table. Plenty of room for coats and handbags as well. Service is pretty good usually, some servers I prefer over others. A lot of old school American waiters, which is refreshing, rather than off the books illegals. We got the complete lunch a couple of times recently, which was excellent as far as their broiled fish like scrod and salmon filet, I heard nothing but rave reviews. You get soup or salad, and dessert included with your lunch, and I love a place that gives you a complete meal. I love their cream of turkey soup, it is super thick and delicious. Their salad is excellent, fresh and with delicious blue cheese dressing. So many places charge for every little thing, and you can really run up a bill. Iwe frequently dine in high end restaurants, places that will charge $12 for mashed potatoes, but here, you get a nice portion for example, and they're REAL made from scratch, very good and fresh. They also have excellent sauteed spinach as a side too. I got the brisket on the complete lunch, that was my only disappointment, it was very dry and pretty tasteless, so I would not get that again. The fish is excellent though, as I mentioned, and you get big portions of everything, plus a nice bread basket if you order the complete lunch. I was not all that impressed with their Reuben Sandwich, it was small, and the Swiss cheese was stiff, so I would not get that again. Sometimes we come here for breakfast, which is also excellent, and complete. They make good omelettes, but last time, they had to bring it back to the kitchen, as the cheese was not melted, not sure how it's possible to cook an omelette without melting the cheese in it, a fully cooked egg omelette with unmelted cheese in it, was a true feat. It was quickly remedied though, and then it was good. Dessert is delicious, chocolate cheese cake, rice pudding, regular cheesecake, and more. All delicious and a big variety that comes with your complete lunch, so you cannot go wrong! Coffee and tea as well! I've never been here for dinner, but I imagine it's quality. Overall, Perry's gets 5 stars, and it is a place to return to again and again when you want a quick quality meal whenever you're in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn!

Great local diner

By Mitchell J |

Excellent local spot , especially as so many local diners have closed. Great for breakfast or lunch. Service is always and staff are friendly. My wife and I especially enjoy the fact that they serve pumpkin pancakes year round, not just in the autumn.

Great breakfast

Went for breakfast with my family, the food was good, a little pricey compared to others but still good.

Eating good in the neighborhood

By Bear |

Perry's a wonderful place to go if you live in the neighborhood. Plenty of good food and the service is excellent. A lot of the dinners come with soup or salad, dessert and coffee so you don't have to pay extra for them. When you sit down they put a plate of chick peas, coleslaw, warm bread and breadsticks for you. And the wait staff can't do enough for you. But it may not be a place to travel to from far off. Some of the food is excellent, some is OK. Also the parking lot is very narrow and has limited space. But the reason you go to Perry's is the family feeling they give you when you eat there, it feels like you're home. And you won't go away hungry.

Ate here first time in months

By Arlene R |

I came here expecting to have a healthy dinner. I was going to order grilled salmon but their prices skyrocketed. I wound up ordering a bagel all the way which was $160.00, I found that to be a lot. I'm not cheap but for what they gave you on the platter the price should be little lower. I was a bit disappointed.

Still a favorite diner for locals

Service and quantity for breakfast was good. Went with my 17 month old grandson. He was treated special by staff, owners, and guests. Can get busy with local regulars, which is a good thing.

Now this is a Greek Diner!!!!!!!!!

By nyminute1 |

Food is amazing and portions are unreal where it be fresh fish or steak dinners. Breakfast they serve everything under the sun as well as lunch. You can live there and eat all day and probably not eat the same thing more than once a month. The owners are down to earth and do everything in their powers to make you feel at home whether it be an extra portion or extra cocktail you will not go away hungry or upset. We love this place. It is our favorite place to eat and you get some of the best meals you will find in any restaurant around Brooklyn!!!! Come hungry and bring your friends and family. You wont be sorry!

Great diner in Brooklyn

By Chris E |

Several friends urged a visit to the Greek diner and we were not disappointed. Now celebrating its 25th year, the owner, who was originally from Mikinos, runs a very good operation. Locals return week after week and as soon as we tasted the food we understood why. The menu is extensive and the food delicious. There are excellent luncheon specials (soup or salad, entree, dessert, coffee/tea for a reasonable price. The service is excellent and everyone had a to-go bag because of the huge portions. Don't miss Perry's if you are in south Brooklyn. Limited parking in front and rear of diner.

A nice return to the vay

By Steve K |

Went for a late breakfast after some appointments. We got there at 12 but they still offered us the breakfast menu with specials. Nice going! We had juice, two eggs, tasty sausage, bread potato coffee for only $11.50. A Steal and very tasty. Service was good as well. Must say the parking lot needs a major repaving...it is dangerous. A popular place especially with the older denizens of the bay. Sorry to hear of Perry's passing.

Fantastic Dinner

By James P |

Great service and quality food at a reasonable price. I had the prime rib and it was delicious. Baked potato, spinach w/garlic & oil accompanied. Had superb Manhatten Clam Chowder and Cole slaw prior with garlic bread and rolls. Drink and dessert after for a great price. About 32$ before tip. An outstanding value for such a quality meal.

Went for late lunch

I stopped in around 3-3:30 P.M. and had a ham and Swiss on a roll. I also had a cup of coffee, their coleslaw, and pickles. I know the owner, Perry and the manager Chris. They, along with all the wait staff are very friendly and helpful. Their prices are very reasonable.

Good Old Diner at its Best

If you want good Diner food and lots of it Perry's is the place for you. They start you off with cole slaw, pickles, chick peas, and basket of assorted bread. The menu is pretty big with dinner specials. The prices are good with really big portions of food. The staff are very nice and friendly. Good dining experience!! More bang for your buck!!

The best!

By TheNationalTraveler |

Having dined here several times a month over the last three or four years, I have never had a bad experience. The food is great, the service is great, and the atmosphere is welcoming. Perry is a genuinely nice person who usually welcomes all who enter. The waiter I usually have is Gus. You can have a table of six people, and he will get the order right every time without writing down a thing. A+++

Pancake Panorama

Wow! Just had some fabulous Blueberry pancakes with sausages. Really tasty and delicious. Service was superb and coffee was filled at the speed of light.

Amazing food!

By OrenG |

Do you know sometimes you are judging a place by its appearance and then you are surprised. Well it isn't a fancy restaurant but to be honest I prefer a modest look and amazing food which is exactly what you are getting here. We took their dinner special which is a great value for money. The service was so nice and friendly, definitely will come back when in the area.

Luncheon

By DERBING |

Afternoon luncheon was a success from the quality and quantity of the food as well as the friendly attentive staff. As we were about 50 people in our group and not a bad word was uttered.

Just as remembered pre-pandemic.

By Steve K |

Have been going here for years. Plenty of food at a good price. Service is on spot. I had the broiled tilapia dinner and Rosie had mozzarella sticks. I have her my soup which she enjoyed. One point.. DANGER The walkway around the building is uneven and crumbling. An accident waiting to happen. It should have been fixed years ago.

EASTER BANQUET

By James P |

Really outstanding value meal. Starting with pickles, cole slaw and chick peas and bread, before soup or salad, before appetizer(several choices) and today a superbly done baby lamb with roasted potatoes and spinach. Complemented with coffee and dessert(many choices). Many specials and food is always good.

I went here recently and was pleasantly surprised how good the food was. I had a really good grilled chicken wrap and a delicious sugar free cookie. I have never been here before but really enjoyed the food.

Very good family owned diner!

By Amanda N Joshua L |

Very reasonable prices and workers there are friendly and provide good service! They have a lot of good specials for lunch and dinner. I love the garlic break and crackers they provide during dinner yummy!! I had a cheeseburger deluxe and my only negative comment on this meal is the fries! The fries are cheap and didn't taste that good but the onion rings were good! I will definitely be going back!

The food, value and entertainment can't be beat!

By FriendsofBLandBV |

Perry's is the best spot in Brooklyn for quality meals at unbeatable prices. I love the Penne a la Vodka with grilled chicken. The portions are huge so my son gets to eat also when I get home with the doggie bag! And they have wonderful entertainment starting on Oct. 17, 2014 from 7pm until 11pm. It's best to call for the entertainment schedule and to make a reservation since they book up early. Where else can you get a four course meal, a complimentary glass of wine and free entertainment for about $20?

Best food

Good food, great service. Owner very personable. Many of the employees have been working there a long time. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. I always take home leftovers. What more can I say. Give it a try.

Great Time at Perry's!

By Matt_I_Bklyn |

Though Perry's was crowded when my niece & I arrived there we were given a booth almost right away (the sweet, matronly hostess cheerfully told us that we could choose any open table or booth ourselves whenever we visit and do not have to wait like a prince or a princess to be seated!). Service was terrific, food was well-prepared, prices were reasonable, coffee was very good. Highly-recommended, will definitely return :).
