We called in a delivery last night for a pie and some beer to be delivered to our hotel. Super fast service. The cheese and sauce were really good. The crust too thick for my liking but still good. 30 minutes from call to delivery so that is FAST.

My wife, I and 2 children ordered takeout from Pete's fairly recently. We have ordered takeout from here before (although always at dinner), and decided that lunch would be fine. We ordered several sandwiches of which all were very dry. Perhaps the worst part was that the roll which was included was absolutely covered in mold. We would have returned everything, but we had little time to correct the mistake. I am only giving this an average rating because after several nice experiences with takeout, this was poor. Had we not had the previous experiences, I probably would have given this a "terrible" rating.

We ate lunch with six people total. Pizza and cheese steaks were average. The sauce on the pizza was not that good as it had a chemical type of taste. The cheese steaks were dry. The floors were very dirty. Service was OK.. There are much better choices in Philly for cheese steaks and pizza.

Pizza is ok. Nothing special. However the crust is a little bit too dry and crunchy like it was overcooked. The large size is pretty small though. Honestly you can find a lot of places with better pizza in Philly.

Good pizza place a couple blocks from market street. It’s a quick walk from the Franklin Institute where we were visiting. The pizza is not oily and taste good, thin crust. The cheesesteak was also good. Service is good there. I’ve said “good” a few times now!

I was staying close and just wanted something to eat . Didn't want anything fancy. So glad I stumbled across this place. I had the cheesesteak. Really good. The waiter I had was excellent. Worth your time to go.

Pete's is a nice friendly neighborhood pizza shop with very good cheesesteaks without the cheese whiz junk. You get good meat, a nice roll, real cheese and for my tastes just mushrooms and voila! The pizza is also very good. Nice dough, good ingredients with very good sauce. Great when on business if you can get away from the hotel /the business lunch or dinner and have a break at Pete's.

Have been eating at Pete's for years. Stromboli's are the best around this area, especially the meatball Stromboli which was featured on the Food Network.

My family and I visited Pete's for dinner while we were in the area and loved everything we ordered. The inside was busy and the deliveries were even busier but it didn't take long for my family of four to get our food. The food was delicious and the portions were more then enough! Our waitress was pleasent and checked on us several times to make sure we were doing ok. The prices are reasonable and it's only a short walk from The Franklin Institute.

Took over an hour to get our food. Many people sat, got served, and left before we got our food. Waitress was nonchalant about it. Can't imagine going back. Food was okay.

We wandered in here by accident, and ended up delighted to have found this place. Very tasty pizza - huge with generous amounts of toppings. Everyone we encountered was nice - family friendly spot - relaxed atmosphere.

Went here on a whim! Great steaks all around. Cute small family place. Seat yourself. Walking distance from the Franklin Institute

You know when you walk in and see 9 police officers in the place it has to be good. The Pope was in town appearing a few blocks away so the place was packed. We had a basic pie, cheese sausage and pepperoni. A local IPA went nicely. A Large for two people was more than enough.

Pete's is not a new place, having over 30 years going strong, and it is not a place that will serve up anything you have not heard before if you are from Philadelphia. They offer up a nice pie of pizza and part of Philadelphia that is not always apparent these days. Whether this type of restaurant is a part of Philly's past or if its the 'real' Philly is not really important in my view. The pizza, along with there other hoagies, cheesesteaks, breakfast items, or fries slathered in cheese whiz, are well priced, on the whole average, but at same time awesome. Its an interior from the past with wall decorations informing one that scapple is "a Philly thing and that others just wouldn't understand". If you haven't been here, local or tourist, come in and check out a place an established neighborhood place and learn a little about Pete.

I may have reviewed Pete's a few years ago, which at the time would have been positive. Well, forget about it! We ordered 2 pizzas about 3 weeks ago and were less than happy but thought we should try again. Ordered 2 pizzas this week and one was smaller than ordered. They said they would refund the difference, which they didn't. When we opened the boxes it looked the the toppings had been thrown onto them from across the kitchen. And they were way under-cooked. So I guess they're still 'Famous' but in my mind famous for having gone from excellent to no longer an option.

This was the perfect place for breakfast and only one block away. They have a great $5 breakfast from 7-9am: eggs, bacon, grits, toast and drink. Our waitress was so nice and welcoming. She gave us lots of helpful suggestions for our stay.

Our waitress did forget my boyfriend's fries but as soon as she remembered she put in the order and comped us for them. Other the that, it was a great stop in Philly! I loved my pizza and the garlic knots were pretty good too. The Ruben my boyfriend got made him very happy as well. We went on a Saturday and it wasn't very crowded at all.

This restaurant is within walking distance to Eastern State Pen. The pizza and Philly cheesecake were delicious and the service was top notch! We enjoyed it and the prices are very reasonable. Definitely would recommend and we will return the next time we are in Philly.

Recommended by the hotel, usually skeptical when this happens. Was a little hungry so my family of five ordered the large. Pizza was delivered to the lobby so I had go down and get it. Another thing is they deliver beer /wine but you need a credit card when ordering due to local law. Not a big deal. Side note: they have a very limited selection when it comes to dark beer.

Nice neighborhood place. Good service but kitchen more focused on take out orders than serving sit down customers. 45 min wait for turkey club

This was a great find, delicious pizza, friendly staff and fun for us to visit as tourists. Pizza sizes are very generous, we took some back to our apartment as there was no way we could it all in one sitting! We’d throughly recommend eating there, it’s just off Logan Square.

We had an enjoyable early evening pizza and a couple beers at Pete’s Famous Pizza on 21st street. Pete’s has been around for 40+ years. Based on the “Pete’s Special” pizza that we had, they certainly know how to make a great pizza. We noticed that they use fresh rather than canned mushrooms — always a good sign! The restaurant is small and seems to do a big takeout business, but there is also comfortable seating inside, which is what we opted for. After spending a day walking around in the Franklin Institute [2 blocks away], we welcomed the chance to sit down and especially enjoyed their large selection of ice cold local & craft beers.

Place is clean, in a nice area to walk and service was friendly. I come to Philly once a year for a conference and I'll definitely go back to Pete's.

We often meet our daughter and her boyfriend for breakfast at Pete's. They have a good selection and quick service. Typical Philly breakfast that won't cost you a fortune. Be sure to get the pork roll or scrapple!

Went there for lunch on a fall afternoon. Ordered a small pizza and a cheesesteak platter. The menu goes into great detail about the pizza crust and the immigrant Pete preparing it homemade. What we got was definitely frozen or pre-proofed dough. The crust was completely flat, no bubbles, no yeast, not even color vatriation it was so processed. Ordered with ground beef, it came out with sliced meat. Very odd flavor, and not like any ground beef I've ever had. Cheesesteak was delish, can't say anything else but that!

Went looking for an authentic cheesesteak and Pizza for my son. Found Pete’s Cheesesteak was very good. Pizza was bery good. Plus, hidden on the menu were hand dipped milkshakes Service was excellent, a very busy place. Full bar and lots of televisions.... no rush either. Pasta looked very good as well Great find

14" pizza is delicious and more than enough for 2. The ricotta cheese was fantastic and the reason I continued to eat after I was fun. Very reasonably priced as well.

The cheesesteaks are packed with good quality meat on an excellent roll. One of the best in Philadelphia. The restaurant is very clean. Service is average.

Place is clean, in a nice area to walk and service was friendly. I come to Philly once a year for a conference and I'll definitely go back to Pete's.

We were looking for a local place to get something quick to eat and were by Pete's so we stopped in. Very glad we did. We got a cheese pizza and veggie pizza. Both were fresh and the crust was light and crusty - perfect! I highly recommend. They had other local fare on the menu but we wanted the pizza.

This is a place to stop for a quick meal, sandwiches, pizza or breakfast. Nothing fancy, but good food, prices and service. There is outdoor seating and they have a liquor license. I have had good sandwiches, but really love the breakfast. Rarely a problem getting a seat.

I was staying at the Logan with my son and we had a late night crave for some milkshakes and cookies. They had them there within minutes of me hanging up the phone! Superpowers and Super delicious!

After a day at the Franklin Institute we had some great local pizza. I really enjoy dining in these small local restaurants. They bring back memories of my youth in the Nicetown section of Philadelphia. The staff were friendly and efficient. We just got pizza but their menu is quite extensive and interesting.

The pizza is good. Thin crust good amount of cheese but not too much. Minimal sauce. I got a Hellenic salad and was disappointed because the majority of the salad is tomato and the tomato that was in the salad was not even ripe. The olives the cucumber along with huge chunks of feta everything else about it was really good. The Greek fries were ok. In all fairness though anytime you get takeout and fries have to be packed up there not gonna be super crispy. But they came with huge chunks of feta and they had seasoning and they had the tzatziki sauce which was very good. They delivered to the hotel.

I didn’t catch the names of the two guys who were absolutely amazing to my family and furry baby dog! They received us with a wonderful welcome and lots of water right away after we came in super hot and thirsty as we walked from the Rocky statue. We ordered Philly Cheesesteaks and Mega Fries- super delicious and large portions. Thank you for a wonderful dinner!

We choose this place on a whim while visiting The Franklin Institute & looking for a late lunch. What a gem. Our server Molly was awesome. The cheesesteaks were to die for. Perfectly toasted bread, just the right amount of cheese and a generous portion of steak. We couldn’t stop eating the tater tots, even though we were stuffed and tater tots aren’t normally our thing. One member of our party had chicken fettuccine Alfredo and it was the equivalent of three meals and other restaurants. Also a great dish. Highly recommend.

We went to Pete’s for lunch while visiting the Franklin Institute with our kids. It is a very close to the Franklin Institute and well worth the short walk. Four of us ordered wraps (turkey club, chicken parm, Buffalo and chicken cheesesteak) and our one daughter ordered the chicken finger platter. We all really enjoyed our food and the service was very warm and friendly. The seating was well spaced because of COVID and we all felt comfortable and safe dining indoors. We would definitely come back again next time we are in the area.

It is true that we had been drinking all day before we ended up her. We had just come from Cheery St. and needed dinner really badly. This was the right choice. We ended up getting sat quickly and the service was delightful. Very friendly and willing to customize the pizza to some very specific needs at that time of the night. The food was just what we had hoped for. It was a classic local town pizza that was focused on tasty sauce and thick on the cheese. I would give anyone in the area their name and send them over, drunk or sober.

The pizza is not what I'm used to I likr more of a new york-style crust but you know it's like a pan style pizza or Chicago style I guess..... they have it in a thin crust also, pizzas are small but you know decent edible.....the place is hoping with deliveries

Great atmosphere not too far from the City Center but for a place to be advertised as a Famous Pizza joint, I would expect the dough and ingredients to be fresh rather than frozen. The time it takes to cook the pizza should be 5-8 mins in the oven, I waited 25 - 30 mins for my pizza to cook. The service was slow, the staff were continuously eating behind the counter and didn't look particularly cheerful. Prices were not bad though...

The pizza, calzone, cheesesteaks and Italian grinder are family favorites. The eggplant parm sandwich is the vegetarian favorite. Great for little kids and families
Fantastic lunch
We went to see the Terracotta Warriors exhibit and we had a little bit of time so we decided to go for lunch. We asked the security guard at the Museum where we should go and they recommended Pete's Famous Pizza right around the corner. I can tell you that I got a Cheesesteak. It was phenomenal. which is nothing to be surprised by, due to the fact that we were in Philadelphia and we got a Philly cheesesteak. Came with fries, so many that I couldn't finish them. Cheesesteak and the fries and a small thing of coleslaw very reasonably priced I believe the whole thing my cheese steak, fries and coleslaw was I it was 7.95. Girlfriend got a small antipasto. Small was so big she wasn't able to finish it. It was so good we ordered delivery the next night. $1.50 delivery charge......... come on are these guys living in the 80's??????? How can you make any money charging 1.50? Would have gladly paid a 4 dollar delivery charge.
