Delicious Bagel

By Mariana |

Bagels at Pick a Bagel are delicious. We had one with classic cream cheese and one with walnuts and raisin, both were very tasty! The place was full but it worth. Definitely a place to have a delicious warm and crunch NY bagel.

Wide selection

By Sally C |

Visited this place while in NYC. Wide selection of bagels and generous with the cream cheese filling. A little disappointed with the service as it's quite slow.

Good Solid NY Bagels

By Buckmarko |

We had to get our New York bagel fix while on a spring break rendezvous. We stopped here before our all day tour to get a bite and to get some bagels for our lunch. Our tour start was close by. We got some blueberry and chocolate chip muffins to munch on (good) as well as a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese (very good). For lunch to go, we got everything bagels (very good and soft) and containers of scallion cream cheese (very good) and lox cream cheese (excellent). The line was long but it moved quickly. We waited just a couple minutes for our order. It's small and bit cramped, but they do have seating (and a bathroom!). Everything was good. I wouldn't go out of my way (why would you in NYC?), but it was good solid bagels and we got our fix. Recommended.

Yummy bagel place@

By RiceyTraveller |

Loved the place so much, great way for our breakfast on a cold wet May morning in NYC Great bagels, yummy fillings (salmon was amazing) and the team are so helpful and friendly Was close to out hotel and recommended by the front desk - great choice@

Really bummed. Hit this store

By Leiza J |

Really bummed. Hit this store around 8:30pm to grab bagels to bring home (visiting from Alaska!). Anyway, I wasn’t paying attention when the guy was grabbing my bagels & just paid (2 dozen) and left. When I unpacked my bagels at home I found I had been RIPPED OFF!!! Instead of 26 (2- bakers dozen) I was given 20. Shame on you!!!!

Very good!

By Kathy |

A small establishment, very busy but fast service. Everything looked great. Our bagels with a walnut spread was very good. Worth the walk.

Awesome breakfast place

By leg7025 |

Great bagels, great muffins, and very good, attentive service. The smoothies are delicious, try the Mango Tango. Will definitely come back.

An excellent choice for Bagels in NYC

By daniel p |

Is this the BEST bagel in NYC? Haven't tried them all...but it's dang good. Large selection of expected varieties- texture just right for a NYC bagel- Crusty exterior, chewy interior with the right kind of crumb...NONE! The excellent hours as well as the multiple sites add to the appeal. Bagels were warm at 7:30 AM on a Sunday morning. Spreads available with multiple choices including a few that were unusual. Nice plus? Baker's dozen numbered 14 at a GREAT price point...and they'll deliver along with plates/forks/napkins. Try it!

A return trip to NYC. Seven years later - still authentic NYC bagels and the place to go!

By Disneybus |

It's been a while since we stayed in the city; my wife and I made it a must to return to Pick a Bagel. The locals still line up for their coffee and bagels in the morning. There is every flavor, spread, and breakfast option available. We got egg and bacon (crisp) on our bagels. We would have liked a Taylor Ham option - but no. The line moves along efficiently, as there are plenty of people behind the counter who are friendly and accommodating; table and window counter seating are available to dine in and watch the show! We love the bagels so much we bought a dozen to take back home along with containers of strawberry and sundried tomato cream cheese. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60763-d1845834-r446040758-Pick_A_Bagel-New_York_City_New_York.html#

Delicious Bagels!

By Lillia |

A pure delight are these bagels, the recipe of which you can create yourself. The breads are very varied as are the creams. There are also well-stocked sandwiches and salads. Personally I had a bagel with garlic, chive cream, smoked salmon and red onions. A delight ! Count 15 USD plus your drink. Certainly a little expensive but that is unfortunately the case everywhere in New York…. I recommend if you want to taste an excellent bagel!

Fantastic food!

By Kathy C |

It was so worth it to wait in line for Pick A Bagel! I order a supreme chicken salad sandwich on a croissant, and it was incredible. I couldn’t eat the whole thing, so I saved half for the next day. It held up quite well! My daughter loved her lox on an everything bagel, too. We were lucky to find a place to sit. I would happily go again!!

Huge, delicious bagels

By 1060WestAddison |

This place is crazy crowded on a Sunday morning, but it's worth it. The tables are really packed together, but it's not the kind of place you linger. We got bagel sandwiches, all were delicious. The coffee is mediocre and as hot as the sun -- but we weren't there for coffee. The bagels were the whole point. We also got a cranberry muffin to eat as a snack later, and it was fantastic.

Worth the wait

By asti439797 |

The bagels are huge and very tasty. There is a varied menu of options for breakfast and lunch. It is a busy place but well organized so the wait is short.

Very tasty - bagels so good it’s been a breakfast regular on our week long trip!

By Jane Alan |

So many flavours to choose from, it’s easy to keep going back. Really tasty bagels! It’s always busy but we’ve always managed to get window seats. Service is perhaps a little bit slow, and it’s manic collecting your order but worth it.

Great bagels and schmear

By Gloria L |

While there was a long line and a bit of a wait, the bagels and choices of cream cheese combinations are great! People seemed to enjoy their choices a I found the toasted garlic bagel was great.

Worst food experience in NYC

By Casual_Style |

Apart from the rather rude staff - some may call then just „very straight forward“ - first they forgot 2 items on the order, and after I had to stand in line for re-order then, they delivered the wrong items. And the bagels were rather dry - I guess that there are better bagel places in NYC, because everyone told me to have a bagel while in the city. But I was not impressed at all!

Excellent!

By Mike T |

Great bagels , great service lots of fun nice people and the smears, awesome. Love this place ! Several locations!

Amazing bagel.

By Casper Juhl |

Amazing breakfast bagel with Egg, Cheese and bacon. Definitely a place I would go for breakfast again. I like The atmosphere of how fast, that they Can make it.

Great bagels

By BecLaird |

As always, great bagels (but avoid the coffee!) We had arrived on a long haul flight so with time zones luckily woke early and grabbed a bagel before the queues (they can be crazy on the weekend). Always a great breakfast spot in NYC!

Rude staff

By Chloe B |

The food was good, shame the staff are rude. We ordered a black coffee with almond milk and a latte with almond milk. The latte came up on the till as 'pint of milk' so my husband checked that it was a latte and the lady said yes. Got to the other till where you're given your coffee and we were handed the black coffee, along with a cup of cold milk. My husband said this was supposed to be a latte and the lady (different one to who took our order) said no you didn't order a latte, my husband said yes I did, so she said no you didn't! How rude! She didn't take the order so how did she know what we asked for. We ended up saying just leave it. So we paid $2.50 for absolutely nothing! I can't believe how rude the lady was, and she didn't even try to rectify it. Shame as the food was good.

Extremely rude staff

By Ayt |

Super rude staff member let me know she is ‘waiting’ when I was taking a minute to look at the menu to decide what to order, when there was no line and no one else waiting to order. Bagel was mediocre. Service is great in establishments all over NY, I wouldn’t bother with this place.

Long lines, but goes pretty fast. Limited seating. Pricey.

By Kerry S |

Walked blocks, stood in packed quarters, and managed to snag a table crammed in between two lines where other patrons smacked us with coats and backpacks. Bagels were good and the staff minimally friendly. My granddaughters enjoyed their choices.

NY Bagels at their Best

By Rick D |

Great bagels. Ordering and paying not so much, but cutting some slack because it was non stop customers and that can get hectic. Still a 5 star visit.

Awful experience

By Alexandra E |

Wish I could give it zero. There are like 12 people working and yet all of them seem to be rude, smug and difficult. The food was awful. I got oatmeal that was meant to have brown sugar in it but didn’t so just tasted like paper. Then I paid $1 per fruit added for blueberries, strawberries and banana and was only give two pieces of each, Then my dad got an omelette which had $3 extra for onions, tiny amount of onion but randomly had potato in it which wasn’t listed. Such a rip off.

Good quality New York bagel breakfast

By emmalewissinger |

Not the cheapest breakfast option but good value for money. This is a build your own bagel bar. Choice of about 10 different bagels and then sweet and savoury fillings. Some pastries and fruit as well. Hot and cold drinks. They also do breakfast platters and traditional sandwiches (Reubens, etc). I had the garlic bagel toasted with cream cheese, smoked salmon and scrambled egg - big portion and food was good quality. With a large coffee (+tax) this came to around $19. Left feeling full and satisfied.

Horrible Cashiers, Good LATAM service

By djoukhadji |

Cashiers are rude, with bad mood but other employees are so nice most of them are from LATAM. Good taste excellent prices I went 3 times on my trip.

My breakfast spot.

By Kittygal 🇺🇦 🌻 |

Was staying nearby so stopped by frequently for early morning coffee and bagels. Took a salmon cream cheese sandwich on my flight back to LAX and got lots of envious glances. And the huge black and white cookies are a delight!

Busy, Fast, Efficient and Good

By CrystalEats |

This place was absolutely bustling, but so was the staff. You zip through the line and your food is out quickly. Seating miraculously opened up and we enjoyed a sit down w good coffee. Variety of bagels and schmeres. Can’t go wrong w a salted bagel!

Good bagel!

By KenandKara D |

We enjoyed our bagels and cream cheese. They even had unsweetened ice tea that was very good! Went back few times and planning to go next time I am in midtown!

Mess

By José Carlos G |

I ordered a bagel at the beginning of the line. No one asked me about the type of bagel or so, then i arrive to the cash register, i pay, tip included (i shouldnt) and then no one knows what happened to what i ordered. They tell me who attended me, I am not sure, and they ask me like three more times, also the type of bagel that i ordered, i say no one asked me… and they seem upset with me instead otherwise Even one of them makes a commentary to me that i did not fully understand, but seemed like mocking as for how a girl laughed… Obv I wouldnt recommend it, if you are gonna have this kind of place in nyc, with that much people going in and out, you shouldnt be rattling clients if you miss some order

Little pricey for what it is

By GemsyLou89 |

Attended here for breakfast, wanted to experience a ‘proper’ NYC bagel. An amazing selection of bagels, fillings and combinations. Bagel was good, just a little pricey for what it actually consists of. For a treat completely worth it. Would go back.

My first and most memorable NY bagel

By pokemynose |

The long lines in this cozy eatery shows that the food is good, and it really is! The service here is pretty quick and the menu is self-explanatory so the lines move pretty quickly. I had the ham & cheese bagel with scrambled eggs and it was one of the best things I've ever had in my life! The bagel was crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and they were so generous with the fillings that I had to eat my bagel in two sittings. Would definitely come back again to try the other things on the menu!!

too crowded

By dianalstrohecker |

This must be a great place because we could not get in the door and there were no tables available. The selection looked great but we will have to get there earlier next time we are in NYC

Horrible junk food

By Csaba73 |

Honestly. How can people eat this disgusting food. It’s like rubber with cholesterol fitted inside. It should come with a health warning like a tobacco advertising

Worth the wait

By BecLaird |

We decided to go on Saturday am before NYC marathon.... the queue snaked ip & down the shop & Out the door last the neighboring shop! But it was worth the wait. You can see why it’s so popular! 20+ varieties of bagels with almost as many types of cream cheese.... and then there are fillings to cater for anyone! Best bagels by far! We waited 30mins but was definitely worth it.

Long queues, average Bagels

By Michael A |

I don't understand why Pick A Bagel has such enormous queues of people lined for well over a block to order. The bagels at Pick A Bagel are average and definitely not worth the wait. I recommend going to Pick A Bagel on weekdays when the queues are much shorter. Don't even try to visit Bick A Bagel on a weekend morning!

Cream cheese with a bagel

By Jeff N |

Fantastic NYC eating, salads, sandwiches, and varieties of cream cheese with bagels. If you really like cream cheese, you will love how much they put on the bagle. Otherwise, buy 2 bagels, only 1 with cream cheese, and share the cream cheese.

Flavored Cream Cheese!!!

By Stacie B |

Delicious bagels & cream cheese! Small shop inside & outside seating available. The cream cheese choices are unbelievable! Great coffee too!

Bagel is average ans personal unfriendly

By Mathias L |

Personal at the Counter was unfriendly, even though NY considered. May be I understood the concept of order here and hope for the best there not, but I didn‘t order the first time. Bagel had some sort of sand in it. My daughters bagel was over toasted.. black at the top. NY offers much better, so think again before stopping by.

Awesome bagels

By Tomas P |

Third time in NYC and third time at Pick a Bagel. Can only recommend it! Great place for breakfast. Even if it is crowded and a long line, we have always found seats.

Long lines, but perfect NY bagel

By DallasLonghorn |

As reviews indicate, this place is very popular and people from all over midtown go here for lunch. Lines will go out the door, but it moves pretty fast all things considered. Bagels are sensational and so much better than outside NY. Breakfast sandwiches are great, and they load you up with cream cheese. Nice service in spite of the fact that the place is jam packed. Good luck getting a seat - order it to go and take it with you.

Every kind of bagel

By Linda P |

A must for breakfast! Difficult to choose the filling for your bagel. These are delicious, especially the everything bagel. Cant get anything to taste like these in UK! Big queues but they move quickly.

Nice

By adia182 |

Nice beagle for a snack, the staff is very efficient. The beagle are quite good. Very versatile. Not the best beagle I ate but won’t roll it out.

Please visit this place

By RachelTurner6 |

This place was everything I expected from a New York bagel shop. They have tons of specialty cream cheeses. The jalapeño caper cream cheese will blow you away! It has just the right amount of kick

Breakfast

By Jane H |

The bagels were amazing. There is a huge selection and the variety of cream cheese mixes was almost overwhelming. They do have tables, but may have to wait.

Great Bagels!

By E2493SGy |

Bagels with the Lox/cream cheese were very good Salad was also very good. Service was fast and efficient.

Great Bagels

By Jim S |

We had some Bagels at Pick-A-Bagel and they were fresh, with a large selection of Bagels and fillings and the place is busy. There is a line up to get your food but that's because the Bagels are so good here. The only negative is their prices are a bit high compared to other bagel places and their coffee sucks, but still this is a great place for Bagels. Murray's Bagels are still the BEST Bagels in NYC but Pick-A-Bagel comes a close second.

A bagel a day....

By L2theC |

My sons favorite spot during our NYC visit. Bagels with cream cheese every day. The bagel sandwiches and coffee were also very good.

Wide selection of bagels & sandwiches

By amtonio79 |

There is no place to stand here in the morning ... their bagels and sandwiches are so good. Lot of options as well to cater to every whim and fancy. A wee-bit expensive considering its located in Hell's Kitchen neighborhood.

Cream cheese dream

By Kateseabra |

I went to a couple of these places and loved both. The selection of cream cheeses is great and the bagels always tasted fresh. They filled the bagels as much as humanly possibly with the cream cheese and I always left a happy customer. Staff was also happy to suggest combinations of bagel types with different cream cheeses!

Best salad in town

By LadiesVoices |

I was going to a Broadway show with my husband and a friend. We were looking for a place nearby that was cheap, quick, and tasty. I suggested Pick A Bagel, and we were all very pleased.

A fast learned breakfast spot! Some of the best bagels in NYC!

By Tom&NikkiTravel |

We were very fortunate to be staying one block away from Pick A Bagel and what an opportunity that presented us! We were a little gutted we didn't stop by until our 3rd day for breakfast however in actual fact it probably was for the best as we couldn't resist going back once we'd tried them! Whether it was the seeded, onion, salted, the options seemed endless (thankfully there is an everything bagel option!) But regardless of the choice of bagel, one thing to be made clear is that they are absolutely divine! The springiness yet chewiness of the bagel can only be described as masterfull - when they say it is all in the water it really must be! All in all I think we ended up stopping here 3 times in the latter part of our trip, it is a perfect breakfast stop ahead of a casual stroll through Central Park on a summers morning!

Delicious bagels

By Les L |

The bagels were plump inside and crispy outside, excellent flavor. Got there at 6 am and hoped for hot ones, but no luck. Good experience.

New York Bagels at Their Finest!

By Barbara H |

On our recent visit to New York, we noticed that all our bagel places had disappeared. Then we found Pick A Bagel with a line out the door and rightfully so. We ordered everything bagels with the greatest veggie cream cheese, but I could have any kind of bagel and at least 17 toppings... well worth the wait. In fact, we went two days in a row.

Best Bagels!

By CalifSue |

Enjoyed NYC bagels and it did not disappoint. Best ever. Small dining area. So many flavors of cream cheese, but plain worked for me. I believe they do sandwiches too!

Awesome bagel, quick Service

By jasonf1975 |

These bagels are on point! Went there twice in a four day trip. Each time tried different bagels and they were perfect! The staff was friendly and the service was fast!

Greatest bagels in the city

By Lucy C |

Pick a Bagel is without a doubt my favorite place to get a bagel in the city, they have a fantastic selection of fresh bagels as well as different fillings. Not only are the bagels phenomenal - the blueberry is my go-to - but the coffee is also fantastic, SO good. It's inexpensive and there are a lot of tables inside and out (the patio is heated in winter). There might be a long line but take my word for it, it is so worth the wait, and the line moves pretty quickly because the servers are super efficient.

Nice bagel and good cream cheeses

By Mrsjj204 |

The bagels are well above average but the cream cheeses are what stands out. In particular, the chives and the veggie cream cheeses are loaded with veggies! They do not skimp on the additions in the cheese. Service is quick and friendly.

Very good!

By Lita_hel |

Service was very nice and staff very friendly. Time of service was fast and the bagels were very good as well. We had bacon, egg and cheese bagels as well as plain bagels with cream cheese and sesame bagels with strawberry cream cheese.

Worth the Wait

By maxwellkg |

If you like bagels then head for this little place. The bagels were fresh, soft and chewy, and the choice of cream cheese mixtures seemed endless. Seemed like there is always a line. They also offer eggs and pancakes, but you can wait quite a while for your order. This is the place for bagels or a muffin, I would leave the eggs for a diner or restaurant. At times the line can be out the door. Several members of the police stopped by for coffee and bagels. Makes us know that it is a good choice.

Very good Bagels!

By ludy c |

So lucky this place was just Couple of minutes from my hotel, the bagels are great, huge, fresh, tasty!!very good place with other yummy things to put on your bagel, hot drinks and pastries, fast service, great NY bagel experience!

Best bagel ever

By Sophiedog13 |

What a place. Line ups are long, but go very fast. Went for breakfast and ordered the everything bagel with scallion cream cheese and avocado. Best bagel I ever tasted. Light, big and tasty. Highly recommended. Great for sharing.

Breakfast salmon bagels

By Angele65 |

Pick a Bagel was literally across the road from our hotel. I have never seen so many bagels in my life and with so many differwnt flavours too and every kind of filling imaginable. We opted for smoked salmon and cream cheese and a turkey one with salad. They were delicious and warm to eat even back at the hotel. There were muffins and pancakes another foods available. The bagels we had, had to be amongst the best i have had. You can eat ib or take out. The place waa consistently busy and well organised. We visited here a couple of times, the bagels are not cheap so be prepared if you are you having more than 3, that will cost you around $42 Recommend

All hail the Nova Bagel!

By AlanaMike |

The bagels here are phenomenal! I had the whole wheat everything bagel Nova Scotia with plain cream cheese. It was huge and delicious. My husband got the royal nova version and normal everything bagel and thought it was almost too much. Both were delicious! Just we found the simpler version more to our tastes. It is a little confusing for ordering and paying just because there are a whole bunch of people who will take your bagel order and then you wait to order drinks when you pay but it was a minor hiccup. I confess to not really liking plain cream cheese and lox before visiting here and now I’m converted! It is certainly pricey but its so big that you should really count it as two lunches instead of one! Would definitely visit again

Best bagels!

By Burroughs |

I love bagels, and especially New York bagels! This place has all kinds and types, plus the schmears to slather on them. It's not a large place, and during some parts of the day the ordering line can be quite long. Patience, however, will reward you with some of the best bagels in town!

Amazing Solo Brunch

By Isabel H |

Popped in as it was only a block away from the hostel. Amazing choice of bagels and cream cheeses. Quickly service and not too expensive. Only thing is the seating goes quite quickly so if your a big group takeaway might be your best option.

New York is about bagels.

By Taro O |

I went on this business trip because I heard from a colleague who had traveled to New York before that there was a good bagel shop. You can enjoy various customizations with a system like Subway where you choose bread and ingredients and order them. I chose the one on the menu table for my first experience. It was very good, as the previous reputation had it. It seems expensive when converted to yen at about $10, but it is so big that you can fill up on one piece, so if one dollar were to be at the 100 yen level before, it would be a reasonable price range. I want to go again if I get the chance. At that time, I also want to try customizing.

Good,friendly

By Jeff M |

I ate here every morning I was in the city.I could have something good and quick and not fast food.A friendly place.I enjoyed all the food I tried.a good variety of bagels.

Great bagels

By Audrey E |

I wanted to get a great New York bagel. They have great bagels. Crunchy on the outside and soft inside. They have a variety of sandwiches made with bagels. I like the classic with lox, cream cheese onions, tomato and capers. The service is great. It is a fairly crowded place in the morning but service is fast and friendly. There are limited places to site inside and out and it is cozy. You can get coffee and some egg dishes as well

Breakfast near Central Park

By The Lockes |

Great food cheap price. This location was only blocks away from Central Park. Perfect way to fuel up before a long walk. Highly recommended. Nothing like a New York bagel.

Good God....

By TonyKirsty12 |

This was my first ever Bagel and I was blown away, I opted for Egg, bacon and cheese on a sesame seed bagel, toasted. One bite and I was hooked, it was the best thing I have ever tasted, seriously this was so nice. The place was clean and tidy, not too busy, lots ordering take out. The server was really nice and helped us choose. Thanks for a wonderful breakfast, highly recommended.

Chaos....This is New York

By UnclePen |

The bagels are great, I have no complaints. But the confusion and chaos you must endure to enjoy it is crazy. And to find a seat in this tiny little structure is near impossible. The food is good, but it's not a relaxing atmosphere at all.

Perfect bagel!

By Dubai2222 |

The bagel was delicious and the egg was cooked to perfection 🥰 sooo good! Had the bagel w everything, egg and cheese. Bagel selection is fantastic. Open at 6 am so yeah best spot.

Any type of bagel and smear you can imagine

By Fastphilad |

Went there with my grandson. Very busy but very New York. Somewhat limited seating for a large group but for a couple of 2 to 4 people you can usually find a place to sit. They have quite a turnover and the bagels were great. If you’re in the area it’s a good place to get a New York breakfast

Food was good, service was not

By Q7599KYsteveo |

Waited 15 mins on a Sunday morning, server was rude taking order, got order wrong, not enough seating. Changed order, took food back to hotel, which was good. Need to work on order process and customer service.

Great Bagel Experience

By Catherine C |

Great NYC Bagel experience! I’m usually a fan of Montreal Style bagels but maybe I never had a good NY bagel before now! Had the Nova Scotia Deluxe - so good ! And my son had egg cheese bacon “platter” . I had no idea what that was - basically a container with a pile of cheesy eggs and bacon and a side of potatoes and a separate bagel and you get to pile it on yourself - fun and a giant serving (not tourist portions). Decent cappuccino too ( drinkable and better than Starbucks but not coffee snob level).

Best breakfast close to the Sheraton Times Square

By John C |

For a very reasonably priced breakfast you can't beat it. This is were we went every morning while staying at the Sheraton at Times Square. Fast service, great bagels, good prices. Average $20 for two. A good sign was all the cop cars out front. I recommend

Go for the bagel not the service

By jeanlucp731 |

Went to that place for breakfast as we wanted a bagel. Bagel was good. The place is not a place to really eat. Quite cumbersome to move around. Coffee is terrible and service is quite basic. In short just get what you need and be on the run.

Great Bagels

By RachelRoamsAround |

We found Pick A Bagel off 8th because it was two blocks away from our hotel and I did not feel like walking down to another bagel place I like off 35th. Pick A Bagel has a great selection and was pretty to serve them despite the place being busy. You should expect it to be busy but its NYC and its a bagel shop so do not be surprised if you have to wait in line.

Last day in NYC, we had to bring home bagels

By Greg M |

They had lots of bagels to choose from. $18 for a bakers dozen (14 bagels). It was def worth it. They were friendly, helpful, and the bagels are very good. I've only eaten one (garlic) but hope they last a few days so we can enjoy them all. They are really good.

Good bagel, generous with the cream cheese

By Teresa M |

We enjoyed the bagels and apple danish. Both were very good. The amount of cream cheese given was quite generous. I’m off and left wanting a bit more and this was a great amount.

Great bagels

By Matt P |

I don’t know about the bad reviews about the staff. It’s NYC, in a bagel place, close to Times Square. If you aren’t prepared for chaos you should probably vacation FL. We got ours to go. There was a long line but it moved quickly and most important the bagels were worth the wait.

Amazing

By A R |

Best bagel I have ever eaten. Fast service, soft, chewy bagel, mounds of chunky vegetable cream cheese. Go here. Huge servings.

Definitely Go!

By amykpenn |

Great authentic New York bagels and experience. Actually our favorite bagels of all the ones we tried. They were kind of crusty on the outside and soft in the middle. Great selection of flavors and spreads. Good coffee drinks as well. Speedy service too.

Great Bagels

By Daniel D |

The line that goes out the door and to the street is a good sign. The bagels are great and true NYC.

Delicious!

By Ria Galanos |

The bagel was worth the wait. Be prepared to wait outside in inclement weather as the line was very, very long.

Fantastic breakfast

By Elaine F |

Very busy. Great omelettes and breakfast. Amazing bagels. Vegetarian friendly. Great prices. Fast service. Everything fresh, hot and delicious. Eat in or take out 👍❤️

Good variety of bagels and spreads.

By Gordon B |

We were passing by andwere attracted by the lineand the looks. We were correct! Assortment of bagelsand spreads freshly and generously prepared.

Rude

By Jon G |

The food was very good coffee was very good service where very rude and nasty wouldn’t come back and it’s a shame food is outstanding

Yummy

By caryn h |

Authentic NYC bagels. Small place and long line with tiny tables but well worth it. Line moved pretty fast.

Great for breakfast

By Manicrose |

We had breakfast here a couple of times during our holiday and cannot fault it at all. The bagels are delicious and you get a very generous amount of filling. Plenty of different bagels and fillings (both hot and cold) to pick from. We also tried a couple of the muffins one afternoon and they were very good too. A very busy shop. We were in there just after 06:00 and there was a steady flow of customers. When we walked past it one morning later on, they were queuing out of the door. Definitely best to go early if you want to get a table there. Only wish we had discovered this place sooner in our holiday!

Great food

By Travelr111 |

I found this on our last day. The food is so good it is packed. I would have come here for breakfast everyday

Nothing is better than NYC bagels

By Noraatc |

That’s my regular place for good bagels in NYC, but I try to go there off the busy hours. My favorite is toasted multigrain bagel with lox cream cheese spread. I have to confess that my lunches in NYC are usually bagels with different spreads because there is nothing food I love more. Pick-a-Bagel on the 8th Avenue is my place to go to for many years.

Bagel Heaven!

By Kathi H |

Upscale Bagel restaurant with many more choices besides bagels. My fave......Onion Bagel with Sun Dried Tomato Schmear! It was delicious! Window seats that look out on 8th street to watch the hustle and bustle of the morning. Highly recommend...very good and quick breakfast.

Surprisingly quick for the

By Saraj1998 |

Surprisingly quick for the line depth. Just wanted a great bagel and they came through. Would recommend the savory everything bag,e with the olive cream cheese....mmmmm. Had to take it to go as no where to sit but that was okay!

Great bagels but very pricey

By Paul T |

My wife is a big fan of bagels and this place had been recommended by the taxi driver on the way from the airport. Our first breakfast and last, lovely bagels and you can get anything to put on or in them. What I didn’t expect was it to cost me $35 ish for two bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon, apple juice and a white coffee. We didn’t venture in after that and found a cheaper dinner.

Great Bagels

We were in the city overnight and were looking for a good bagel in the morning. We walked a few blocks over to Pick a Bagel. The place was packed and waited a while for our order. Very good though. Good variety and bagels were tasty with a good crust. Highly recommend if in NY.

40 dollars for 3 bagels?????

By Vanessa FH |

If I could give this a zero I would. We had 3 bagels 2 cream cheese and salmon and one tuna with salad. No drinks or anything else and the price was 40 dollars. When we opened up the bagels there was no salad in the tuna sandwich either. RIP off!!!!

Excellent NY Bagels close to Times Square.

By Roberts69 |

Whilst staying in the Times Square area of NYC I fancied a bagel for lunch. I have been to a couple of bagel shops in NYC but never to a Pick A Bagel. I went for 'Everything' Bagels with cream cheese and bacon. Each Bagel worked out at $7.35 each (inc Tax). I also had a Blueberry Muffin which was $3.75 Both Bagels and the Muffin were very good... I recommend Pick A Bagel if you want a tasty bagel near Times Square.

Tricky but tasty

By Linda M |

We all had a nice bagel here. It was tasty and kids ate it up too. But as mentioned in other reviews, the individuals working there were less than thrilled about taking our order. Ordering was physically hard- The tables are lines up in a way that makes it hard to order (ordering is in the middle of the room). It was hot in there even though it wasn’t too hot outside. It would be hard to access the ordering area if a person has trouble with ambulation and if you are hard of hearing, it’s noisy in there and it was almost impossible to hear the employees when ordering. All that being said, we’d go back.

Excellent NY bagels!

By GoFryGo |

So glad I got extra to take home. These are delicious authentic NY bagels. Large in size, perfect texture, and they have the signature taste that just doesn’t exist outside NYC.....

Healthy breakfast on the go!!

By Tina S |

What a fantastic bagel 🥯!! I ordered the deluxe loaded bagel with tons of smoked salmon, capers, cream cheese, tomatoes, onions, and avocado. It was so big that my Neice and I were full off one! The food is fresh and the service is fast and wonderful. A great recommendation from my Hilton hotel.

great NY bagel expereince

By mlpbjm |

had to try a NY bagel at least once during our trip so chose to hit this spot near Times Square. Very busy but the staff stayed on top of the crowd and moved the in-store and online ordered folks through smoothly. Numerous different flavors of bagels available, along with salads, breakfast, and smoked fish. All their baked goods are done right in the shop and looked great. My wife chose her usual-sesame with light cream cheese and I went for the an everything bagel with lox spread. The amount of cream cheese, even after asking for just a schmeer, was a bit ridiculous. You could cover a second bagel with what they give you on one. The bagels were fresh and made perfectly. Slight crisp to the outer edge and light and fluffy inside. Were loved our food and felt lucky that we had chosen a place of such good quality for our NY bagel experience

Very tatsy bagel

By Coconutnut09 |

Very tasty bagel, a must to try in NYC! A lot of variation to choose from and very helpful people who work there! A bit crowded but all good

amazing bagels

By Victoria M |

If you in NYC please come visit this place. Do not expect people who work there will ask you what bagel you want or how toasted you want it, remember its a NYC with a fast paced life, where usual NYC person would say what they want themselves because they are busy and need to go. I have been there twice, and not even once someone mixed up my order because i clearly know what i want and say it to person make my bagel accordingly. if you are slow simply go on google and make order for pick up and you will be able to order your own bagel in your own pace. BTW cappuccino is very good there, and salmon very fresh

Great bagel sandwiches

By kcook100 |

Happened upon this bagel shop right at lunch time. Great Caprese bagel sandwich and reasonably priced!

Tasty

By Kate M |

I googled this place before I came to NY. Just around the corner from my hotel. Ordered our breakfast bagels ( bacon, egg and cheese) and a large coffee. Absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend. There is a queue which I felt was a good sign. It soon cleared and we received our freshly made bagels. Excellent service. We will return.

Amazing breakfast

By Susan L |

Having searched for the best bagel in Manhattan we found this little gem just up from our hotel. Don’t be put off by the queue out of the door....it’s worth it! We both had sausage, egg and cheese bagels - although you could have anything you possibly wanted! Only downside is limited seating and a lot of people, but a sure sign this is a great place to eat I guess.

Grab and Go Huge Bagles

By firewood2010 |

Perfect garb and go or dine in bagel shop. Great menu board. Great breakfast egg bagels. Everything made fresh. Tons of different cream cheese. Lox and cheese bagel must have weighed half a pound. So good. Wonderful for morning after, on the run or a meeting.

Good for a bagel and refreshments

By Stowey-Traveller |

This is a sit down and take away Bagel Bakery. Ordered a bagel and tea, the staff were efficient but the cashier was obviously having a bad day and had an annoyed persona. The tea was good and the bagel was nice.

Not for the faint of heart, this place wakes you up like a cold shower and could drive the epileptic to a seizure.

By kisp1970 |

It may be an efficient way to run a business but if you’re not familiar with the huge variety of bagels, buns etc and toppings then making your choice for breakfast can be challenging. Choice and noise are overwhelming and prices are pretty high. Food is good but we went for a more relaxed way to have breakfast.

Just ok

By Lzyprl |

I am gluten free and was disappointed they didn’t have gluten free options. I’d eaten several places around during the week, all which had GF options. On top of the impatience with the staff towards our group. They thought the food was ok overall.

Highly recommended

By Minna W |

Nice small cafe with wide range of bagels and what a taste! Good system with order numbers but no logic with service and we had to wait for a very long time. But it was worth it...

Good spot for that quintessential NY breakfast

By Christopher M |

Fits the bill if you are looking for good bagels, breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Lots of options, eat in option. Would recommend.

One of the most unpleasant bagels I’ve ever had.

By Stephen T |

First off, I ordered a blueberry bagel with PLAIN cream cheese, I didn’t get that. Second who actually eats cold, un toasted bagels, not me, so why weren’t they toasted, is that a special option I have to preface when ordering and finally, whoever made my bagel put 3x the cream cheese compared to the bagels size, nasty. Not happy tbh

Pick A Bagel breakfast

By EFreviews |

Enjoy a tasty bagel at Pick A Bagel for breakfast - I'm a fan of their "everything" bagel. It's a little crowded if you want to eat in, however, and you'll likely have to wait for a table.

Had the best bagel in my life..

By Izabella R |

Had the best bagel in my life.. had the Hells Kitchen everything bagel highly recommend!! Husband had a breakfast deal and he really enjoyed it and kept us full.

Excellent quality and value fast food

By James A |

Not that I've had a lot of bagels, but this was by far the best I've had and it'd stand up to most burgers. I can't remember what the one I had was called but it had an awesome combo of smoked turkey, bacon, cheese, mayo and avocado, amongst other salady ingredients. I opted for the fried onion bagel which enhanced it even more.

Review from a bagel snob...

By Spencer M |

I've probably had thousands(?) of bagels in my life and felt like Pick A Bagel was decent. Got a classic BEC on a sesame bagel. Everything was fine but nothing stood out to me. The bagel was nice and chewy but lacked flavor. The egg felt a little under seasoned and it was pretty light on the cheese. If you're in a pinch, Pick A Bagel's fine but if you have the time, I'd go somewhere else.

Convenient location, great selection

By clw52 |

When I realized I had not had a New York bagel on my last day in the city, I quickly found this spot on Trip Advisor. Was it anything out of the ordinary? Not really, but upon quickly having my turn at the counter I was thrilled to hear they indeed had pumpernickel bagels! These can be a tough find in Colorado. This bagel with the veggie schmear made for the perfect lunch prior to boarding my flight home. Their bagels are on the large size, which seems to be the trend these days, but I would definitely go back here if I were in the area.

Slow and wrong is a bad combination

By Bob W |

When you take 15 min to make a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, at least you can put bacon and not sausage on it.

This bagel shop is AMAZING!

By Pixielixa |

This bagel shop is AMAZING! The choice of bagels, the filling options..... all freshly baked. We went there twice in our 5 day trip because it was so good! The queue was out the door both times we went. The service was so speedy. Cannot recommend this place more! The bagels are slightly toasted and they are far from stingy on the filling. The onion bagel with sun-dried tomato philly was banging.

Fantastic Bagels - Close to Times Square

By Ifty1987 |

We wanted to try a bagel place near our hotel in Times Square and this was only a short walk away. We stopped by to pick up bagels to-go on a Tuesday morning. It wasn't overly busy at the time we went (around 10am). The counter staff were friendly and helpful. I opted for smoked salmon option with scallion cream cheese, avocado, onion and tomato on an everything bagel. The bagel was large, generously filled and absolutely delicious. It wasn't cheap at around $20 for a single bagel but I guess that's NY Midtown prices! Would highly recommend trying.

The best bagel in town!

By Humour&Hunger |

Was recommended to come here by our tour guide - and it didn’t disappoint! The Cali turkey bagel was amazing and the Cafe Mocha was to die for! There is so many options at this place, unbelievable. Highly, highly recommended!

Bodacious Bagels

By LINDA M |

Delicious bagels! Large variety. Best to order delivery when crowded in morning. Odd that there’s no charge for double toasting, but there is for single toasting. Many kinds of cream cheese spreads and egg styles to put in those bagels. We love garlic and pumpernickel. They need to include a straw when they send an orange juice container that can be accessed only with a straw.

Quick snack

By Ticmick |

That walk from central park to the hotel in midtown meant a quick bite to eat on the way and what luck it was to call here. Although the place was almost full with plenty waiting for take-out, I was served quickly and managed to get a table for me and the wife. The chicken club Sandwich would have been enough, though we had to sample the Reuben too. Such quality ingredients came to the fore in both eats, from the first bite to the last...did we touch lucky or are all NY bagel shops this good? Any downsides? A little pricey at about $11 each but with food this good that fills you up and lasts all day is it really?? One may be enough for two people I would suggest.... either way, enjoy people 🗽

Rude and not the best bagels

By Nicole |

Back to NYC for a second year. This time before coming back to Pick A Bagel we'd visited some other bagel places, and have actually discovered that we prefer other bagel shops to this place. We find Pick A Bagel to have slightly chewier bagels, which with bad joints (causing a painful/unstable jaw), i actually struggle to chew these, especially this year around. We preferred the softer bagels at other locations. Also, we had a small rude encounter last year, with staff making me feel uncomfortable. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be a one off, as this year the staff were again rude, to both me and my partner when we were simply placing our order. They're so busy that they seem to get mad at you for not explaining what you'd like to order fast enough. They do not make you feel wanted. I wouldn't return again because of this alone. As after multiple visits here, we know it's not just a 'one off' bad experience.

Great Bagels!!

By Brian S |

This restaurant serves great bagels. You can customize them however you want and get pretty much whatever you want on it. I'm a big fan of the smoked salmon, scallion cream cheese, tomato and avocado bagel. They also serve pretty good salads that are customizable.

Service takes away from Food

By markitiki |

The food- both size/variety of menu as well as quality was great for a breakfast. However, the service was typical of NYC as far as the "warm/fuzzy feeling" being non existent and the service/speed of delivery also did not exist. Seating is pretty limited as well. Like I said, the food was delicious and quantity was also above average.

Delicious NYC Bagel

By Michelle Mugnaini |

Ate here based on the recommendation of a local to NYC. We loved the variety of bagels and cream cheese. I had the everything bagel with the olive cream cheese which I would highly recommend. Fresh, chewy, and simply delicious!

Convenient location

By neeratraveler |

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. I was here for coffee and decided to sit outside. The coffee was good. The bagels looked very good but I had already eaten. I will definitely try them next time.

Great bagels. Great cream cheese

By samjalyste |

Everything bagel with low fat veggie cream cheese with FRESH scallions. Tons of cream cheese on bagel. Yum!!

Delicious NY bagels with many options

By James W |

I had whole wheat everything bagel toasted with tofu “cream cheese” with scallions. Slightly slow and not cheap (almost $5) but worth it. Many other options from salads to omelettes too, great little place.

5 star bagels joint

By Faye Claire |

My fav bagel shop in town , vegan tofu spread and onion fresh bagel , the staff are so fast in here the queue goes down so quick. Such a organised establishment also always seating as people don’t hog tables for a long time.

Delicious!

By Dr_Iris_B |

We came here for lunch! It was busy but the line moved quickly. There is limited sitting so we took it out. Fresh and delicious bagels! Love it!

Good cream cheese to bagel ratio

By Christina K |

Easy ordering process and fast checkout. Bagel was delicious although they did give me an everything vs an onion but that was ok. Cream cheese ratio to bagel was also good. It was within short walking distance of where we were staying and I’d visit again. There’s a good coffee shop next door as well as a small supermarket for water and other essentials if needed a few doors down.

Authentic and Fresh.

By David C |

Great spot and it shows. Very busy place but they handle it well. The bagels and muffins are made fresh and if none of that is appealing then order a breakfast sandwich and a freshly brewed cup of your favorite coffee drink. They have a huge selection of everything bagel and types of cream cheese you never thought of. This place is authentic and fresh. We will be back.

Heavenly bagels

By fentilena |

Omg bagel heaven for sure this place is fantastic. Cream cheese bagel in new York is really simply the best

bagel place to go

By Ed W |

What a perfect way to start a New York morning.

By Scott C |

What a perfect way to start a New York morning. Fast and fresh. Busy as can be. And yummy yummy. I think I’ll be back to get some more next visit.

Great start of day, eat right there

By Bob M |

Big portions, great variety. You can get omlette as sandwich or as platter w home fries. Good coffee (not shown). Tables inside so you can eat right there. At north end of Broadway theatre district.

Bagel Breakfast

By Tash C |

The service was quick and the bagel was very tasty. However, slightly overpriced by about $3. I would still recommend going because it was delish.

Best breakfast

By Vicky H |

We’d dined at a couple of diners for breakfast during our stay and we’d passed this place a couple of times and saw it was busy. We decided to give it a try one morning and so glad we did. If we’d had more time in New York we would have come every morning. We got a bagel with olive cream cheese and it was simply amazing! This is definitely one of my favourite places in New York for breakfast.

It could be better organized to avoid the messy wait!

By Dr_Iris_B |

The bagels are fresh and tasty but the way this place works is so in efficient! First you wait to order, they write on the bagel wrap paper the order…. Then you wait for it to be ready and only then you pay! It’s busy, crowded and you stand and wait most of the time

Not much of a seating area.

By jgbtravels |

We had planned to eat a quick breakfast here but noticed there weren’t many places to sit and the line to order food was right next to the few tables. Oh, and they had the door wide open on a hot and humid day. Never mind that they were inviting all flys and other insects to join us. We decided to go elsewhere to eat.

Yummy

By Patti B |

This place was a zoo at 10am but their system of ordering and paying was efficient. Not much seating during a busy time and folks end up all around you as the line winds around inside of the building. Their bialy was not a true bialy...it was delicious but it was not with the onions etc in the middle. We had a blueberry and pumpernickel bagel and they were delicious PLUS they put a TON of cream cheese on it...there are many differnt flavors of cream cheese...almost too many to choose from. It was a very huge bagel and tons of cream cheese (I even removed some of it) and that meal kept us full until an early dinner. Its a bit pricey but delicious!

Good bagels, but long lines in the morning

By Noraatc |

Very good bagels and spreads, but very long lines for breakfast. Service is not too welcoming. We ate lunch here once too and corned beef in my Rueben sandwich was very tough. So good for breakfast, not so food for lunch.

Good but not sure of the hype

By dmarun |

Okay, the bagels are good, the service is in question by many (although our experience was neither good nor bad...just perfunctory) and the lines are LONG! The bagels are, indeed, very goo although I do not believe they need to pile on quite so much cream cheese and that is coming from a cream cheese lover. The muffins are dry and under flavored. The coffee simply ok. Nice place, probably better than many bagel places but nothing extraordinary.

Delicious bagels, open late

By Arcee_CO |

This small corner bagel shop specializes in fresh handmade bagels of a dozen varieties including Everything, plus at least 10 varieties of cream cheese. Pastries and cookies also available. Mostly for takeout but there are three or four tables and some breakfast items as well as coffee for those who wish to sit down. Plain Single bagel is $1.50 but with chive cream cheese the cost can become $4.75 plus tax.

Great breakfast

By johntpt |

We found this bagel spot a block away from our hotel on 8th Ave. Despite the line out the door the service is fast and we found a table inside. Everything was great - bagel sandwich, breakfast platter, muffin, and fresh orange juice.

Authentic Bagel Breakfast

By PasationTravellers |

When in NYC, one must try their authentic bagels. Today was the day, for breakfast. Ordering was efficient with a warm and friendly smile. Coffee was rich and the meal: the egg and bacon omelette was large, filling and very delicious! Definitely will drop by one more time before leaving the big city!

Good vibes. Better bagels

By Andrea S |

First time to New York and wanted to experience New York bagels; Pick-a-Bagel didn’t disappoint. Their bagels were lighter — not as dense and heavy — than west coast bagels, and were absolutely delicious. The California wrap and breakfast burrito were large and stocked full of delicious ingredients. Their smoked salmon and eggs platter was large and very good. By New York standards where everything is super expensive, the items I purchased this time around were a good value. Popular and crowded with a long line, but it moved quickly. If I hadn’t been getting everything to go and there was room available, the atmosphere seemed like a nice vibe where I would’ve liked to stick around and soak it all in.

You must go

By Robin K |

GREAT spot! Delicious breakfast wraps. The wraps were so fresh. Pretty cheap prices for the city. Cute place to hand out and people watch. It was hopping on Marathon Sunday morning!

Excellent with nice sized bagels.

By Bullmastiffmom2max |

Excellent, large bagels. Very fresh. Great bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel. We had delivery on our last day since we were pressed for time. You’re Paying more for delivery but order was correct and coffee was still hot.

Must Eat when in New York

By crwibawa |

Something that you have to get when in New York are the bagels. Pick A Bagel has one of the most comprehensive selection of bagels from plain, blueberry, onion and more. The chewiness of the bagels combined with cream cheese or other fillings such as salmon or bacon and eggs, makes for a very delicious and hearty breakfast or snack. Eat in or to go perfect to start the day with.

Our favourite breakfast

By Jen |

On a holiday I never eat in the same place more than once, as I like to try new things. But, we returned to picks bagel 3 times for breakfast, during our week in NYC. It's so damn tasty!! Quick and easy breakfast, and so much choice! We got different bagels each time- all delicious. Husband loved the coffee. Word of warning - was v busy on the Saturday morning.

Yummy and flavored packed bagels

By Karli C |

We were here for a few days and wanted to stop by and get some bagels. We were pleasantly surprised to see HOW MUCH lox spread they put in them. It was pricey, but worth every penny. At $12 a bagel, it was well worth the trip. We hope to be back one day. Truly enjoyed this place. Get their early and grab a seat, place stays busy, so you may have a wait.

A MUST in NYC

By Felix |

Delious selfmade bagels and a cozy central place! The food was great but a little overpriced… 15 USD for a sandwich is not fair…

Long Lines but don't be Deterred....They Go Fast!

By Nodaksx6 |

Long lines but they go fast and it's worth the wait. The bagels were delicious and reasonably priced!

Great place - had to introduce the kids to NY bagels!

By Carolyn C |

Super busy and crowded on a Sunday! Get your bagel and sit where you find a seat- make a new friend! Bagels were fantastic- so was the schmear and lox!

Pretty tasty bagels!

By TomCho88 |

Not sure what the standard bagel sandwich price is around New York but $11 something seemed slightly steep but I was happy to pay the price. Bagels itself was lovely and fresh and the fillings of the meat were generous. Could have used slightly more lettuce and sauce in ratio to the meat but otherwise great. Staff seemed annoyed when I asked them to repeat their question due to it being loud inside with other people and also not being used to their accent (we are from New Zealand). Otherwise was nice.

Delicious!

By wilkinsmk |

Delicious bagels and the cream cheese is amazing. Get your NY Bagel fix here! I also picked up a couple of huge muffins and they were on pint too!

Not the best

By Brian A |

Not one of NY's best bagels. The service was fair, food was okay, prices were high. I wouldn't come here again when there are so many great bagel places to choose from.

Awesome bagel

By Ken |

Highly recommend this spot if you’re in need of a breakfast / brunch hit. Great selection of bagels freshly cooked!

Fav Bagel Place in NY

By Iri_taz |

My favorite place for breakfast!! I will miss coming to New York because of the bagels and the folks that work there. Whole wheat everything is my fav and then the topics would vary based on my mood. However, their bacon is TO DIE FOR!! I don't know how they do it and tbh, I couldn't care, but oooh, that taste!! 100% recommend!
