Best dinner in NYC! We’ve been there for a couple dinner during our honeymoon. It’s not just an ordinary veg restaurant: Planta is an experience! From the sushi to the salads to the bao, everything has been awesome, perfect tastes and great presentation! Fabulous cocktails too! The waiters are patient and kind and know how to make you feel warmly! Absolutely to try!

Horrible food - super oily. We had been there before and went back again thinking we would get the same food but it turned out to be horrible. Would not recommend going here.

Really good food. Have only gone twice but I am surprised at how well they make their vegan food. The menu had great options for asian quisine as well as a varity of plates. The staff was friendly and helpful with questions. We had some nice caffinated drinks that tasted sweet and light.

Diverse, mostly Asian menu. Food has excellent taste. This was our second time here and we will be back. They had a special on sushi and we love the Torched and Pressed. We had a few. Also had Gomae, Mushroom Dumplings, and Gem Salad. We sat downstairs this time. Kinda has a lounge vibe.

Super nice place inside, perfect atmosphere for a New York dinner, soft lights, music and excellent drinks. What can I say about the really good food, especially sushi and similar dishes of Chinese/Japanese cuisine. A little disappointed by the dessert because I was expecting a better ice cream, but a truly excellent experience overall. Reservation is absolutely recommended! The place is always super full given the quality

Was very busy when we arrived without a reservation. We were told 30 mins wait which was accurate so had a drink at the bar. Good food especially the bang bang broccoli and the dumplings

Food quality was extremely low. Bao bun was strangely sweet, and the Caesar salad was inedible. They use some kind of really poor tasting vegan mao or such which gives the food an odd flavor. Especially bad in the sauce with the summer rolls. A strange sweetness to the tuna roll as well. Also, it tasted like there was no alcohol in the drinks. The service was good, but the food was so poor that I’m going with one star.

Food was excellent. Service was not. Staff, those welcoming guests and waiting on tables were indifferent and surly which was a shame because it is hard to find superb vegetarian/ vegan cuisine. Well done to the chefs though!

Visited once whilst in New York. Food was OK and so was the server but the noise was awful. Everyone was screaming at eachother to be heard. This made for a vert unpleasant dinning experience and not at all relaxing sadly. I recall Toronto had the same noise issue. I wouldn't return because of the deafening noise.

I've traveled a lot. I've eaten at a lot of restaurants, and specifically at a lot of vegetarian restaurants. I came away from Planta Queen NYC completely blown away. The decor. The food. The presentation. The service. Absolutely everything was beyond my expectations. I personally ordered the spinach dumplings and a poke bowl. I've had dumplings lots of times before, and we even make vegetarian/vegan poke bowls at home. How different could they be? Answer: Amazingly good. Better than most I've ever had before. The dumplings were perfectly steamed, with fresh vegetables inside that retained their crunchiness. And the poke bowl? Beyond my expectations, presented in vivid color and with fantastic flavor. Everyone else in my five-person party was equally pleased and delighted. Everyone came away feeling like this was one of the best meals they had ever had, vegan or not. And the service? Wow. One person in our group asked for the spicy stuff on the side. Another asked for a kind of variation on their normal coffee. The waitress went out of her way to say that she would do whatever needed in order to make us happy, if she could. As someone in our group pointed out, there wasn't any music playing. And the waitress gladly seated us away from other people, so that we could talk without bothering (or being bothered by) others. Yes, it was a bit expensive, but it was 100% worthwhile. A classy place in every way. I cannot wait to return.

Great food and wonderful service. The menu is very varied and appealed to the kids and grown ups. Gorgeous deserts and drinks too. It's pricey but worth it

Please was very nice. Food was amazing, I went twice. its too bad they do run out of items like the smores dessert which was gf was disappointed. The dumplings, handrolls firecracker and the layered potato appetizer were the best things. The curry noodle was my favorite noodle. The dan dan noodles are great too.

I have been to PLANTA a few times in the past and had a great experience. Their food is great and a delicious take on vegan sushi. However- when I visited this week I had an awful experience. It started with a table not being available to me for 30 minutes after my reservation- but instead of getting the truth about the issue I was told it would be 5-10 mins and so I stood waiting (when I could have been sat at the bar in a more relaxed fashion). Once a table was ready it was downstairs where the AC had broken and I was advised it would be humid. I was jet lagged and hungry - so happy to sit anywhere! Once at the table I was handed a menu and when my server appeared he said some menu items were missing and proceeded to take the menu away and came back 10 mins later with 70% of the menu crossed out! Now it was 45 mins after my reservation- I had no food or drink and I was so hungry and disappointed- my server advised me that the company was facing bankruptcy and so could not get the food orders it needed to fulfil the menu. The restaurant was so full and there was a queue out of the door - clearly a lot of people were going to be disappointed too. In the end I ordered food that I enjoyed but it would not have been my choice if the menu had been as advertised. I had one plate taken off my bill and my server was very apologetic but it was not the evening had been looking forward to! I won’t be going back.

A vegetarian New Yorker friend of mine recommended this as one of, if not the best vegan restaurant in NYC. All I can say is that twice in NYC I ate the best vegan food I’ve ever had and this one just pipped the Plnt Burger mushroom burger, speaking as a meat-eater who loves sushi. The setting is slightly off of the beaten track (as far as you can be in Midtown) and is lovely inside - we visited mid afternoon which seems to be the easiest time - I would recommend this as it wasn’t busy but some of the hot food still took a while to come. I’m not 100% sure on the cuisine, but it seemed to be various forms of Asian inspired bits, from sushi to Singapore noodles. We tried a few different sushis, all of which were fantastic and plentiful, especially the Dragon and Red Dragon Rolls. The hot plates were a bit slow as I mentioned, however the Truffle Fried Rice and the Singapore Noodles when they did come were sensational. I would absolutely return and recommend this to anyone, even the non-plant-based among us. A final special mention must go to whoever designed the watermelon cocktail that is on the menu - a true triumph even with the terrible name “Water You Waiting For.”

Food was above average. Very good sushi could not tell it was not real fish. Singapore noodles were good as was the gyoza. All vegan menu with bar. Reservations recommended.

The three of us shared the Baked Crab Roll, Queen Caesar, Bang Bang Broccoli, 1000 Layer Crispy Potatoes, Udon Noodles, and Singapore Noodles. For dessert we shared the Pumpkin Cheese Cake. All were delicious, perfectly prepared and presented. Efficient and friendly staff. Lovely ambiance. Very popular too.

This place has really exotic vegan dishes ... We mainly ordered a lot of starters and each had a different taste ,totally new to the tongue ... Although the waiters at the restaurant seem super busy all the time ....but the food is so yummy we were ok with that I definitely recommend a visit
Best Vegan in NY
If you aren't looking for vegan, you will be amazed that it is! Ordered the mushroom udon, a sushi roll, and the beef and broccoli and it was absolutely delicious! You couldn't even tell the beef wasn't beef!! The bar is fully loaded, and they have some amazing drink specialties!
