This fast food poke restaurant (only 7 bar stools for sit down) is really more of a take out- poke bowls or poke rolls wrapped in sushi are the highlights- with a do-it-yourself choice of ingredients. About 15$ for a large size bowl- very fresh a good size portion altho on the pricey side for take out

The best and highest quality lunch in the neighbourhood. I tried several selections, and all were nutritious, tasty and affordable. You will search far in this very expensive city for a healthier and wholesome meal. Yes, it's fast food. But without any loss of quality or nutrition.

My girlfriend came across Pokeworks while searching for sushi in and around our area. Reviews were good, so we decided to try it. I never tried sushi in a bowl, thought it was strange, but it turn out to be really delicious! You have many fresh options to choose from. This was great. Small, clean little place, not much for seating, but the staff are great and polite. If the weather is nice, I recommend heading over to Bryant Park to enjoy your sushi bowl. It's not far away and there is plenty of chairs and bistro tables to sit at while enjoying the view.

Found this little spot while looking for food around Times Square. Loved the photos online. Service was quick but staff were abrupt and a little bit rude (expected in NYC). Fish was extremely fresh. Sauce was well placed. Options were great. Minimal seating available, 5 counter seats and if you don’t get space you gotta walk and eat. I had the burrito (spicy ahi) which was lovely.

I had about an hour to kill between my train at Grand Central and my trip from the Port Authority, and I did a quick search on yelp to figure out a fun place to grab a "quick" lunch. I burned the entire hour waiting on line here, but it was worth the wait. I had read the reviews and people said that lines could be long but that it moves pretty quickly; I did not find that to be the case. I thought the line moved pretty slowly, probably because the menu is a bit confusing, especially if you're not aware of what the different ingredients are. I arrived at 11:40 on a Friday morning, and the lunch rush was clearly on. I estimated there were about 30 people in front of me, and between them and all of the pick up orders, I probably waited 40 to 45 minutes before I ordered my food. The people who work and there are super friendly and helpful, and I walked out the door with a delicious bowl of ahi and albacore tuna. You can add a ton of stuff to your bowl, most of which does not cost anything extra. If memory serves correctly, a small bowl was $10.95 and a large was $13.50. I ordered a large, but realized two thirds of the way through that a small bowl would've been perfect. The flavors were incredible. I got the spicy tuna bowl which includes a sirachi aioli and mixed both ahi tuna and seared albacore. I have to say, it was probably the freshest and most tender fish I have ever eaten. It was absolutely delicious. I think now that I know the menu, I would likely place an order in advance and pick up as I think waiting in line for nearly an hour is a bit crazy. I would recommend that you pick one of the main signature bowls or burritos and then think about what you would want to add into it and just place your order ahead.

The food itself is good and fresh. Its a nice concept but the wait in line is what brings the score down. You can wait up to 1 whole hour before you get served here. Some of the staff has no sense of urgency. We also witnessed the line lady giving preference to someone who just arrived in line, she gave her a menu and asked her to tick all the options she wanted and will get the order rushed. This is while a lot of other customers waiting for over 45mins. It will be ok to go when the hype dies down.

Authentic Hawaian poke. Great value for money - yes it will be a $14 lunch but its worth it. The fish is always fresh and excellent in quality. The suggested mixes truly gel together though you can customize the ingredients. The tuna and salmon are both incredibly fresh tasting. You are getting sushi grade fish at a price thats quite reasonable for the quality. However, the service is slow and the lines can be long so be prepared.

The food was great. Loved how the employees were helpful and made the experience a calming one even with so many customers.

I came here with my boyfriend for lunch and was so glad that we stopped in the ingredients are all extremely fresh with a large variety. The staff was extremely friendly and explained everything to us and I would highly recommend stopping in for a quick bite to eat.

After spending the day at MOMA, we went to Pokeworks, Bryant Park. Small and narrow space, only 4 seats along so it is really meant for takeaway. They offer several options and build your own poke bowls and “burritos”. The place was really clean and the ingredients laid out, similarly to an ice cream shop, looked very fresh. You can further customize the menu options with add ons as they make it in front of you so it can really can fit your personal favorite flavor profile. They explained the differences in the sauces, seaweeds other items that were a bit exotic. We all had something different and they were all amazing. I was delighted to find that there is one located close to me in CT so I don’t have to go to the city for one of these very healthy, nutritious and extremely delicious poke bowls!

The food is affordable and no more. Built on a take-and-go method. Multiplied from a disposable bowl. Rice is nothing and yearly supplements. The place is not exactly the most inviting. The single tables are not clean. Probably intended for offices around.

First off this place is fairly new and the novelty hasn't worn off yet so the line is atrociously long and the food is OK but not worth the wait. The protein selection looks and tastes quite fresh and the assortment of stuff is nice. However the base idea here is a subway that does sushi like dishes. The signature dishes are lacking in important flavor so your best bet is to do your own creation. The bowl is definitely the cleaner more portable option as there is very little seating and burritos end up spilling out the side you aren't eating from. I was not impressed by my dish the signature Hawaiian because of no flavor, I would try it again but not until the awe factor dies down.... it's simply not worth the wait.

This was the best sushi experience. The sushi burritos were amazing. So good we had them for lunch and for dinner during our visit to nyc. Don’t wait too long because they seem to run out of popular ingredients in the evening but they gave us a discount without us even asking. The prices were more than reasonable and everything was fresh. Tiny location so we took our food to go.

I love the fact I can get a good portion of protein balanced with a carb or salad of my choice. A little pricey but overall a great option. Good service and attitude.

My wife and I lived in Hawaii for a long time. This place brought us back to the days we would hunt for the best poke on the island. It tasted so good.

Went here when there was no long line. Chose the umami classic and it tasted good and was okay but it wasn't excellent. Don't quite get the hype.

Sushi was fresh and rice was cooked to purrrfection people were helpful in choosing the best burrito or bowl or salad. Wonderful place had to eat near the street no tables

This is the best sushi burrito I've ever had- hands down. I love the wide selection of ingredients you can put into your burrito, as well as the affordability and freshness! Been twice already and gonna come many more times. (Beware: long lines at lunch time)

If you have ever had Poké in Hawaii, prepare to be disappointed. First and foremost the fish is frozen then thawed and cut much smaller chunks than is typical in Hawaii. Sushi rice isn't an option, but quinoa is. The assembly of my Salmon Shiso Pokiritto and Spicy Ponzu Albacore Poké Bowl was sloppy and haphazard. Raw Ahi Tuna was incorrectly added to the Pokiritto and was scraped off and dumped into the Poké Bowl instead of Seared Albacore. On the plus side, there are some variants that you don't see in Hawaii like the Pokiritto and Poké Salad, as well as Chicken, Tofu and Scallops and Shrimp. You also have the ability to build your own Poké Bowl, but more than likely you'll end up with too many or unbalanced flavors. Expect a minimum 30 minute wait at Lunch outside in a roped off line. Pokeworks made me long for Safeway in Hawaii which uses frozen fish, much less a local stalwart with fresh fish.

Was super excited when I found Pokeworks! sushi craves satisfied immediately! the food was super affordable yet delicious and the queue was really efficiently moving! I already miss my days in NYC to get my poke sushi! the only downside was the space, I wish there was more seating to have our food there instead of the takeout.

This place was incredible. Don't worry about the long line-it moves quickly so know what you want before you get in line :) I ordered the 2 meat burrito - salmon and tuna. With unlimited additions, this burrito is enough for two! The fish was fresh and not too chewy. I appreciate that the burrito was stuffed with rice to save money. There isn't a lot of room to stay in eat but they offer free water, a sauce station (sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha) and clean utensils/ napkins. Will come back again to try another mix of flavors. It's a fantastic idea and well executed. Yum!!!

This is a chain of hawaian food the surprised all of us -for good- per recommendation of a friend. The place is really small and it only has 5 seats so it is conceived as a "to go" food, but still the quality is really good, fresh ingredients. Perhaps quality of the service should be reviewed. P.s be aware of the waiting time on lunch time!

Stopped in at the request of a younger member of our party who had heard about this place from a friend. Similar to a lot of salad bars but with sushi. Choose from a roll (burrito-like thing), salad or rice bowl, choose two from several kinds of sushi, then choose add-ins and toppings. I had the salad; it was great.

About time one of these type of places opens up in NYC. Correction, nice to see one of these type of restaurants opening in midtown since I'm sure the other boroughs have something similar (or not). I've gone here about 4-5 times now and I love it. Think of it like a Chipotle but without deadly bacteria (at least, not yet). Food is awesome and the portions are very filling. If you aren't into sashimi type sushi or raw foods, this is not the place for you. One downside is that if you are not there before it opens at 11am, it's going to be packed and the space is really really tiny. First few times I've gone I was on line for about 15-20 mins. Seriously though, if you are going for lunch, be on line at 11am or before (or off peak). There's also a couple chairs to sit and eat but I highly recommend taking your food out.

We got takeaway and went to Bryant Park for outdoor lunch. Good one and totally worth trying One of the best things is you can choose your own mix!

The sushi burritos here are to die for! I could honestly eat them everyday. The line to get food is usually pretty long, I have been here a few times and the wait was usually around 25 minutes. The staff is really efficient and helpful. The restaurant itself is very small, there is enough seating for about 5-8 people, so it is more of a place to grab a quick bite to go. I would definitely recommend going here for lunch! Maybe even taking the food to go if it is very busy.

A small place but good selection for poke bowls. You can create your own or they have already created choices. Food was fresh and tasty. Not much place to stay and eat, only a bar to sit about 4 people was available. Better as take out.

I went here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was packed! Line outside and I had to wait about 20 minutes to get in. It was worth the wait! The food was great, staff friendly and very patient and with $12.95 for their regular Pokebowl you cannot complain about the price either. Lots of young folks, everybody excited to be there. Food is to go as they only have four chairs. I recommend to take your food and walk down to Bryant Park, which is just two blocks away.

Had read about Poke but had never tried it. Not sure if this was authentic or not but it was fast, flavorful and we loved the variety of toppings. Reasonable value for NYC. Don't plan on eating in- place is way too small - but can carry out and eat in nearby Herald Square and people watch.

Fantastic low priced sushi style lunch! The line and wait were utterly ridiculous, but once I had been there twenty minutes I was committed (it took at least 40 minutes, probably closer to an hour around 1pm on a Thursday afternoon). I likely wouldn't suffer through that wait again, but if they can figure out how to get their line moving, I'll then go back. The fish was fresh (I had the salmon - tuna, scallops and cooked chicken were also available), served in a substantial portion with excellent seasoning/toppings. I was the only one in the building who went with the "burrito" (seaweed and rice wrap, like a giant handroll) rather than the bowl - but I'm glad I did, I love the seaweed wrap. It was overstuffed, so had to be eaten over a plate as opposed to on the go. Great meal for the price.

40 mins wait and I can't say the food was WOW! The rude behavior from the lady who was manning the lines (don't know her name but she is short, african-american and wearing maroon tight pants) - was letting people go ahead of me (when I was already waiting for 30 mins at that point) - when I confronted her, her response was a VERY rude "Chill, I got this". This tells me the place is not ready to maintain long-term relationship with their customers. Personally, customer service is one of two primary reasons I go back or refer a restaurant (quality and taste of food being the other) - terribly disappointing experience...if I do decide to give the place another chance, I sincerely not to see this terribly rude woman!!! If anyone I know behaved in this manner at their workplace, they wouldn't have a job!!! Other than that, the place is crammed and service is very slow.

This was right next to our hotel and we went for dinner our first night, it was easy convenient and delicious! I would recommend this to anyone going to New York and staying in Manhattan!

Visited with friends and we all chose different bowls, I had the ahi tuna and sous vide shrimp, too many ingredients to remember what I had but the choice is amazing and ponzu sauce and crab salad to top the bowl was great. Short walk to Bryant park to sit and eat and all impressed. Would definitely return.

Fresh ingredients, excellent quality, imaginative presentation, tasty. Outstanding, really. Think of Chipotle or Chicken Kitchen for sushi and better. However, the space on 37th street is horrible, too small, cramped, only 6 chairs which basically makes it take out only. I believe they underestimated themselves. Must. Expand. Now.

Pokeworks was ok but not great. I ordered the spicy ahi tuna with cauliflower rice. The service was fast and they were very nice. The food was ok in that it was fresh but lacked a lot of taste. The serving size of actual poke was pretty small as well given how much it costs. Probably would not come back or I would try something else.

If you’ve been waiting to try poke, stop waiting and get in line for a bowl. I never ate poke before coming to Pokeworks, but now that I have my tastebuds are so happy. Being from Seattle you’d think I’d have tried it by now, but here I am in NY for my first time. The menu has a lot on it so your first time you may not know what to do. Just look in the categories on the board and pick a couple things from each. I went with bowl, sushi rice, albacore, shrimp, edamame, sweet onions, crab salad, wontons, and shoyu sauce. It was a great mix of sweet and spicy flavors with tender, firm, and crispy textures. Now that I’ve had poke once I know I’ll be having it again.

Poke is only recently taking off in the UK with food trucks being the main outlets for poke apart from a couple of high end restaurants in London. With this in mind i made a conscious effort to try pokeworks having seen a poke burrito on facebook, the restaurant kind of works like a subway in that you choose a poke bowl or burrito first and then your rice and then finally you navigate your way through selections of raw fish, tofu and other proteins, veggies, sauces and add ons like seaweed, wasabi etc, the price for a regular poke pot came in around $10 and was a filling meal so value was on point. I opted for a salmon, tuna, mango, lettuce combo with seaweed and sweet sauce, i'd definitely return

We ordered Poke burritos. They were well packed, with a nice list of items to put it in, such as various meats, vegetables, seaweed, and sauces. The food was delicious. If you are a big eater, it may not be filling due to the (relatively) low calorie count of most menu items. Store had limited seating. Overall a delicious meal!

Very filling, fresh, and affordable for NYC. Stopped here twice during my weekend trip, tried the sushi burrito first, and then the kale noodles the second time. Healthy but still very good! It's great that they have scallops!

This Hawaiian restaurant attracted our attention by the line outside. So on Sunday on our way back to our hotel from Church, there was no line and we went in to inquire. The employee explained the entire system and made some excellent recommendations. We had the poke your way bowls. The choices are more than adequate. We loved them. They were delicious and fresh. Also had the miso soup. The idea is something like making your own salad which is so popular in the city but this product is make your own Hawaiian seafood (or chicken or tofu) bowl. YUM We would definitely go back again.

I had a poke bowl with tuna and salmon. It’s freshly made and delicious. Also had the miso soup. Great that it’s hot, but I found it slightly too salty. The service staff was very helpful with the ordering, so it was an overall good “eat and go” experience.

The food was pretty good. I had the poke salad with ahi tuna and shrimp. You can get two or three protein in a salad, bowl (rice) or a wrap. The portion was nice and there was a generous amount of ahi tuna and shrimp for the price. 10.95 for mine, a regular and a few dollars more for a large. I really like that you can add as many toppings,mix-ins and crunch options as you like. In my opinion, the chicken didn't look so great, but the other protein options looked good. The place is VERY small and the line was out the door.

Saw this place through a trending Facebook post, and decided to give it a try when we were in the city. We went at 2 pm on a Saturday and waited about 15 minutes. It was one of the best sushi meals I've ever had. There are so many options for add-ins and toppings! And for NYC, I thought the price really couldn't be beat. My husband and I both had a bowl and could barely finish the regular size. Would HIGHLY recommend!

everyone loves the concept of the "sushiritto" and Pokeworks does a great job of it, better than some of the competitors. Theres isn't messy and they have many options. Ive had a brown rice bowl and a burrito, both great!

The quality of the ingredients is high. Quick turn around. Make your own or stick to a classic, either way you won’t be disappointed. Great staff. The queue outside the door is worth the wait.

Fabulous seafood and rice bowls with endless add-ons. We had two bowls of brown rice, ahi, shrimp, and the variety of toppings. It was 29.00 for both of us. Perfect choice for a dinner in!

First time in NY and this place was around the corner from our hotel. I'm a pescatarian and my hubs, well he eats anything, so this place seemed to have something for both of us. He got the wasabi shrimp and scallops but they were out of shrimp. He paired it with noodles. He said that his dish was a bit bland. I would definitely eat there again.

This was the first poke restaurant I visited on my stay in New York, and it was phenomenal! Great quality fish, friendly staff and nice environment. Worth the wait; it looks long, but you'll be ordering up in flash. It's like a Hawaiian-Japanese version of Chipotle! Highly recommend to everyone in the area who has a lunch break long enough for a 10 minute wait.

Sushi was delicious. I had a burrito, husband had a bowl. Line outside was crazy! Young lady helping the line outside was very friendly, helped with questions so you can go in and order quick! Definitely a take out place, no seating available

A must try place if you are in NYC and like sushi.. good quality food and prices.. the cons are: very small place and you will be very confused when order toppings..

This is Hawaiian fare that has gone thru the Chipotle experience. Pick your fish (protein), pick your base (rice or quinoa), then add your extras. I had the Hawaiian Classic, it was delicious. Had a large serving with (3) scoops of Tuna. They put the sauce on your fish when you order, it is not left soaking for who knows how long. They were a little busy and it can be confusing if you are a newbie to ordering here. But overall, it was a great experience and I will definitely be back.

This restaurant is close to our hotel so we went there twice. We went at around 6pm on the first time and there was quite a long line, but it moved very fast. It was my first time and there was lady who was unforgiving to a first timer and gave me an attitude. Good thing their food is great so I came back. The next time is better: better lady (or maybe because I know how to order now?) and less line (went about 1pm). Overall, good poke place.

I went for lunch to try one of their poke options. The lines were long but it was worth the wait. They serve poke 3 ways: salad, bowl or burrito (which is just a big sushi roll) You choose a rice, protein, mixins, flavor and toppings each category has a lot of options. The staff is fast and professional however the place is small, there is a table/bar area with 5 stools. So take out would probably be best. However, you're by Times Square so there are places to sit outside. The food was delicious I've only had poke a few times before but this tasted really good to me. Sort of like a deconstructed sushi roll.

Got there at around 5pm on a sunday night. There was a small line but nothing too big. The restaurant was so hot. Food was delicious but the service was terrible. The employees were screaming on customers and the whole process was very confusing. The sushi burrito was so delicious. Would go back again, despite the bad service.

Fresh poke. Fast service. Generous portions. Would come again. Location was also convenient to my hotel.

I started my order as a shiso salmon, but was steered into a poke bowl. No matter, had the brown rice, salmon (fresh), seaweed salad, masago, cucumbers, mango, avocado and more. You have to pay extra for avocado and massago. The sauce on the fish was good, but not enough for the entire bowl so I added some soy from the distribution counter. Lunch was $13 but very filling and yummy! Chef Sheldon Simeon is a favorite since my family visited his restaurant, Migrant, in Maui, and he gave us a tour of the kitchen. Glad to see his work in NYC.

Around the corner from my daughters apt. She just discovered Pokeworks- what a healthy take-out option- a lot of food for the $- nice fresh selections- our server was very patient as we asked many questions on our first visit together.

I loved it, I was wondering to have something like this in Amsterdam as well.. it's a good alternative to the traditional sushi or to a "sad" salad for lunch. It's perfect!!! I'm in love with it, my favorite restaurant in NY I think 😊

What a good surprise to find Pokeworks a few doors down from our lodgings. The line out front is what caught my attention. The Hawaiian Classic is just that. Bringing memories back to my mouth. Very fresh and a good dollar value. Next time I will Poke my own way (build my own creation). Will be back on my next NYC adventure for more or the best. Thanks!

I saw a video on Facebook about sushi burritos before coming to NYC. I'm not sure if this was the place from the video, but it was delicious! You get a surprisingly large amount of food for not too high a price. I got a bowl, my husband got a burrito.

We have visited the place on 37th street based one commendation. The place is tiny and queues are quite long, but all the food preparation is quite fast, so the queue moves quickly. I have tried salad with tuna and some other stuff on it and I was ready surprised how good food can be. That was very good experience. If you like raw fish, do not hesitate and visit the place.

Happened upon this little place near our hotel. It is great!! Best sushi in a bowl, per my daughter. I tried the tofu and chicken.

A dozen different variations. Every inhredient is fresh and bowls are made to order. Fast, friendly service with reasonable prices for the Heights area

We went after work on Friday and got lucky that there were only 4 people waiting outside as 2 minutes later, there were 15 people behind us. There is still a wait once you get inside but the 25 minute wait was well worth it. Its similar to how you order and get served food at Chipotle, Naya Express, etc whereby you select between a bowl, salad or burrito, your main topping and then different toppings and sauces. But the key thing is that you get to add poke (ahi tuna, salmon, etc) and it is fresh. For about 13 dollars, once you take a bite you can see why everyone raves about the restaurant. Each bite has a different flavor with the fish being fresh. Its one of those restaurants where you can see yourself going there a few times each week....am sure they will expand in the city...worth the wait, the price for delicious and fresh poke.

This was my first time to try Poké. If you love sushi, you'll love this. Yummy food with a great selection of ingredients. Staff were friendly, although for a first timer when asked what rice I wanted I had no clue what rices they had on offer. Small area for eating and trash could have been emptied out, with the table needing a bit of a wipe.

Really like the concept of bringing two different type of food to one. Tried the Burrito Sushi, would surely recommend this. Pokework really gave us a fantastic service.

Delicious! The staff are kind and the food is fresh. I have never had to wait in a line when I come, but I can imagine they get busy around lunch time with so many offices nearby.

I can truly recommand pokeworks. They offer fresh food and free water inside the store. Unfortunately you have to pay with credit card.

WOW! I was so excited to eat my first ever sushi burrito and it definitely didn't disappoint! Would recommend.

I have craved pokeworks every day since returning home from new york. I could happily live on their sushiritto forever more .

Really fresh! Lots of options! I had the Hawaiian classic and it was very good! A little bit pricey but I think it was worth it. Would go back!

First time and what a great experience for someone like me who loves fish salad and healthy food. I picked a salad base and added 3 fish then had a great choice of toppings and sauces. When I tasted it it was really great. Fully recommend

They have some pre-set menu items or you can make your own poke bowl or burrito. This place is well-staffed so the line moves quickly. Ingredients were fresh and rice was the right temperature. They have only 3 or 4 counter seats so expect to order it to go.

Who cares how long the line is! It's long because it's good and worth a little wait. Made to order, fresh, robust serving size with all of the fixings makes this a great stop. Grab your food and go sit at the park, or take home, or back to your hotel. May be a challenge to navigate the line of local and only a short lunch/dinner break. When trying to explain Hawaiian poke to a newbe - think sushi in a bowl - mix it all up or keep different fish, toppings, salads separate as you choose. Yum!

Like a lot of people I heard of pokeworks from a Facebook video showing you their sushi burrito. I immediately wanted to try this. The restaurant is super small but that didn't matter much to me, I'm used to that, but a lot of people there wanted more seating. The burritos, or sushi bowl if you rather, are around 12 dollars each. You can pick everything that want or don't want on it along with a few specials that you can order as well. It really is the chipotle of sushi. I really enjoyed their siracha mayo that they had. It was super flavorful and beyond that, really made the whole thing go from a novelty to an amazingly tasty meal. I would recommend this place to all sushi lovers, but really its just sushi in another form, so don't go in expecting anything wildly different.

I happened by on a weekday around 3ish when there was a minimal line. Usually the line is snaking up and down the sidewalk. Their menu is minimal but the ingredient choices are plentiful. I had a "burrito" stuffed with lots of delicious, fresh proteins, mix-ins, toppings and sauces. There are only 5 bar seats so take your meal to go and chillax on Broadway or have a picnic! I highly recommend and will return!👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

My husband & I met some friends at Pokeworks and had SUPER high expectations. It was crowded & a bit slow, as other reviews say. However, the food quality was awesome. I loved the spicy tuna. I think we met the manager or owner, who was very hospitable. Can't wait until they open one in Boston in the fall!

Pokeworks is a good option if you want to eat fast and prefer good and healthy food to burger chains :-). The restaurant offers several takeaway options and there are 6 seats available in the shop in case you want to eat the food there.

This place was delicious. I don't even care that the line was twisting out the door and down the sidewalk, I'd go here again in a heartbeat. I expected it to be a bit pricey since you're dealing with sushi grade fish, but the price was very similar to Chipotle. Staff was efficient and friendly as well, which is hard to find in a place this busy.

I was in California this past week on business and someone told me about Pokeworks they visited in Irvine CA. They said it was a delightful food experience with a tuna dish to die for. So I googled it and found a Pokeworks about 5 blocks from my midtown office on 37th. I arrived at 12:15 and had to wait about 20 minutes but it was worth the wait. It's like an Asian Chipotle with the assembly line. There are preset combinations or you can make your own. I did a make your own bowl with brown rice and the I added fresh tuna and cooked shrimp and there many other add ones which was nice with really no extra charges for items. The whole bowl came to $12 which is about average for a good midtown lunch. I will definitely go back and might try the burrito style next time, but I will try to get there before noon. The food was extremely fresh given the high volume of customers and they line moved fast. The service was very good too.

Not much like real Hawaiian Poke but I'll take that! It's much simpler there. Don't overload with toppings to get a real sense of poke!

Saw this burrito on facebook and we had to stop and get it. TAKE OUT ONLY, the restaurant is small. The food was decent - like a fast food-ish place (similar to Chipotle)

I have eaten in the 15 in new York restoring The food in very fresh and versatile. The service is excellent. I recommend this restaurant.

On a week-long trip to New York, I Googled the latest must-have meal in the city, and Pokeworks came up. I'd seen people post about it on Instagram as well, so decided to check it out. I was impressed! First, the poke here is delicious. You can customize your bowl (or burrito; I opted for bowl) and I usually go for a no-frills poke bowl. The tuna was amazingly fresh, and I think the sauces made a huge difference setting apart this poke joint. The line looked insane when I arrived, and I expected at least an hour based on what others were saying online, but it was around 35 minutes on a Thursday afternoon. They have a well run system to get customers in and out. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience here. Recommended.

Very convenient to select available foods for Poke bowl and take away to local hotel. Taste was good, but they ran out of ingredients twice when I visited - shrimps and spring onions. So, ok but not great.

Pikeworks is super yummy and unique. I love their salad, which you can create yourself by picking your favorite ingredients. Highly recommend to come in either early when they open or after 8:00pm because there is no line. If you come during lunch expect to wait.

This place is great if you're wanting a giant on-the-go sushi-like meal. You can choose from having a burrito, bowl, or salad option, and mix ingredients or choose from pre-set options, kind of like Chipotle - but with ingredients you'd usually find in sushi instead. Ingredients seem quite fresh, but the lines are a bit long. A bit more expensive for "fast food," and there are lines outside (the restaurant itself is extremely small) all during lunch, unfortunately! But it's definitely worth a try. They also have a frequent user card, so if you buy 12 meals from them, you get the next one free. Cool!

Pokeworks was the second of the handful of NYC poke places on my Yelp list that I tried. I had actually just tried a poke bowl from one of their competitors earlier that night. Seeing as I didn't want another poke bowl and I've never had a sushirrito before (or pokiritto as they call it here), that's what I decided to get! The place is really small - as in don't expect to get a seat. There are only about 4 of them. It seems more like a quick lunch spot, but it was still pretty poppin' during dinnertime at around 7:30. The way Pokeworks is set up is similar to a Chipotle. You have one person manning the rice station, which by the way, if you choose the pokiritto, they have a special machine that pops out seaweed sheets, perfectly lined with white rice (I think they do the brown rice by hand). It's pretty awesome. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't amazed. Probably more amazed than I should have been...but moving on! After that at the next stop, you choose your protein - ahi tuna, salmon, seared albacore, shrimp, scallops, chicken, or tofu. That same person will also do the mix-ins (some cost extra) and sauce. Finally, the next station will feature your toppings (again, some cost extra). If I remember correctly, the monster that I created had a mix of ahi tuna and salmon, cucumber, edamame, cilantro, mango, crab salad, spicy furikake, all drizzled with spicy ginger sauce (which tastes more spicy than ginger but I really liked it). Word of advice - do not overstuff. You might be tempted to get greedy like I did, because everything sounds so good. But in the end, I really only tasted everything else (particularly the crab salad) and didn't really end up being able to taste the fish, which was the main point. Then again, this this was my first raw fish burrito experience, so who knows? Maybe this is how they all are? Either way, this might be one of those cases where too many options becomes overwhelming. You don't know what to pick so you end up picking a whole slew of things that might not even necessarily go well together. Of course, if you're too indecisive or maybe even to lazy to pick which ingredients you want, they have their own creations you can order, but this only applies to poke bowls. You're on your own for the salad and burritos, although all of these options might work better for a salad as opposed to a burrito, where real estate is limited. I would def come back, seeing as this location is more convenient than its rivals. I'll be trying a regular poke bowl next time. Or if I do decide to order the pokiritto again, I'll be sure to keep it simple.

We order the burrito sushi, it was really good... You can choose whatever you want to put inside. They were really fast to make it!

Delicious fresh fast. Terrific ingredients in creative combinations. Long line moves really fast. Staff helpful in suggesting tweaks.

Not bad overall, a bit pricey when you consider for double the price you can get all you can eat sushi in Canada. I'm not a sushi expert but enjoyed it. If you're really hungry though you'd need to get the double meat.

This is a good place with limited seating. They served us quickly and had lots of options. They also had miso soup.

After noticing the huge line coming out of Pokework's door yesterday, I was determined to have a late lunch today in hopes of avoiding the line and trying a sushi burrito. Sure enough, just before 3pm, there was no line. Using a chipotle-style system, you follow your food down the line and essentially direct the 'cooks' in making a huge, custom sushi roll (you can also get salads, which also look delicious!). My sushi burrito had tuna, salmon, seaweed, mango, spicy mayo, tobiko, avocado, ginger and some scallions. IT WAS DELICIOUS! And for just over $11 why would you go anywhere else for a sushi fix during lunch?! I know I've found my go-to place. Will be returning very soon!

Found out about this restaurant months ago when my husband sent me a video on Facebook about the "sushi burrito". Was planning a trip to to NY, so I kept it in the back of my mind. Awesome lunch! Not only do they do burritos, but bowls and salads as well :-) My only negative was we didn't have time to go twice!

My favorite poke place I've ever been to. I've tried about 4 in the city and this is by far the best. You get extra crab meat for free and definitely ask for rice puffs at the end

Walked by, turned around and walked in. Great choice! Fast and friendly service with healthier alternatives than the pizza I was going for. Glad this place found me.

Must try! The line-up wasn't very long and moved quickly. Excellent fresh ingredients very tasty meal that was reasonably priced. We need one in Toronto

Excellent meal. Long line, but totally worth it. Very healthy and delicious. I would recommend going there during off hours (3pm-5pm).

It is definitely not worth the wait. It is just a sushi. The salads though seems very much worth it. But hype turned the wait (70minutes) to the limit. The service is a disaster as everyone can choose to make is own mix. It would be much faster is the shop only offers is own mix.

So good I can't even describe it. Totally fresh, great flavors, great combinations. Crowded store, but the line moves fast.

My friend & I popped in on Thursday night after work, before drinks for a quick bite. YUM! I don't remember what he had, but I loved the Umami burrito. Huge portions for an insanely low price. Wish there was one in TO!

Excellent little set up. The walk in - quick eats vibe makes for a trendy spot. The queue seems like a constant outside here but it does go by pretty quickly. We had the sushi burrito. Fresh ingredients and a wide selection of goodies.

We went there for dinner and two main points of complain: 1) there were not enough quantity of ingredients (e.g. almost no salmon) or no availability at all (e.g. avocado). The quantities of proteins that they serve are incredibly small (I don’t know if that is the rule or if it was because they were almost out of food.) 2) the employees were no very harm and seemed like doing us a favor. On the positive side, the concept is good and if full ingredients were available, it would definitely be a good option to go to.

Loved the concept, the food was very good too. I'd add more beverages but all in all it was great. We picked up our burritos and headed for the park where we had a nice dinner.
Long line but worth it!
I did the Poké Bowl your way Regular (2 proteins) with Ahi Tuna and seared Albacore. Included some organic brown rice. I chose cucumber, edamame, seaweed and diced mango for my mix-ins. Ponzu Fresh for my flavor and ginger and seaweed salad for my toppings. Sooooo wonderfully yummy!!
