Good and fast

By robcurtross |

My friend and I both had excellent lentil soup, which is on display in a covered cup and kept very hot. But despite this treatment, the lentils kept their shape and the flavor of the soup as a whole was very good. I also had a very good wrap including a number of vegetables and humus – also very fresh and very good. Service was fast and helpful, the premises were very clean, and we found this a very enjoyable place to have a fast lunch.

Healthy and good value for money

By JuniperB44 |

I was staying at the Hilton Midtown just down the street and at a conference for business. I wanted something healthy and not too expensive. Their fresh salad bowls and snacks were the perfect solution. They have small ready to go snacks such as three falafel balls in hummus with vegetables and pomegranite seeds for about $3.50, and bircher muesli with apples for about the same all to go. Best flat white coffee I've ever had as well. Very friendly service.

Organic Food & Soup

By Karla K |

Very Very good food!!! Organic! Vegan!! Nice place to eat or to take to go! And the best pumpkin soup !!

Good for a quick stop

By Andreas K |

Fresh place for a quick coffee stop or for something smaller to eat. You can find these restaurants everywhere in New York.

Soup is superb!

By kad2pa |

Lentil soup was the best I ever ate. I got a chunk of bread with mine and I would go there again and again because it is soooo good

Great service

By Basak U |

I like coming here every morning. There is great service & good people who know my drink which really makes a lady feel special. Thank you all <3

Pret is perfect

By kad2pa |

Great lentil soup and bread in an upbeat, clean eatery. The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful. There are many choices and everything's so nicely presented and fresh that it is hard to choose. It is reasonably priced and crowded, but take out is an option. I would return.

High Energy, good food, fair prices

By Victoria T |

Always busy, but line moves quickly. The food is always fresh and different. Waitstaff pleasant even though they are very busy nice to see that they still have the time to greet one and say please and thank you!

Great quality food for eat & run

By NYCHoosier10 |

Pret has great sandwiches and "to go" food. The quality is much better than other fast food like McDonalds, Subway, and so on. Fresh and quick. I love it and eat here frequently with my kids when we are on vacation.

Time to take a break

By IHCCosta |

Pret A Manger is a really good place to stop for a little bit, have a coffee and recharge. I liked the coffee and the croissant.

Lunch

By DesiLF |

You will find a Pret a Manger all over Manhattan. The sandwiches and baguettes are fresh. I recommend the Tuna and cucumber. You can take away or have a quick stop and enjoy your sandwich with an expresso. Even during peak hours there are rarely queues at the cashier. Convenient, fast but good food.

Better than just a coffee house

By LetsGoWithStyle |

So many places to eat in NYC Yet for real food, fast & affordable with a clean & comfortable place to sit, it is worth planning a walking tour of the city so that you can take a brief break at Pret A Manger locations. This became my favorite breakfast place. Not only because of the wonderful coffee, chocolate croissant & yogurt, but also because a window seat allowed for entertaining people watching on 6th Avenue.

The sandwiches here are horrible

By lawrence r |

The sandwiches seemed fresh it just was that they tasted horrible. The bread was too crunchy and the ham sandwich had only one thin slice of ham and the swiss cheese was disgusting. I would suggest finding other eating options.

Coffee and Snacks but could be more clean

By Yogesh L |

Good food on the move. The restaurant was not clean as it should have been in NY city. so 3 star. Tables were uncleaned, lot of trash on the floor where the staff serve, wait time was little more then expected But what we tried food was good, no complaint on food but environment can certainly improve.

Fast healthy food

By Alaina S |

Love Pret. There seem to be a ton of them around NYC. It's a great, quick, healthier option for any meal of the day. Can get a bit hectic during peak times, but the staff keeps everything moving quickly. I wish Prets were more nationwide!

Decent Food with Unfortunate View

By Fletch1946 |

We generally love Pret a Manger. At our lunch the other day, my baguette felt somewhat stale. In addition, this location at Sixth Avenue and 38th Street, only has seating for three and it looked out the window at a mobile weed dispensary. Not exactly the view you want in New York.

Great for a quick meal

By Jaclyn S |

I've gone here a couple times and it is great! I have home for both breakfast and lunch (I wouldn't go for dinner, unless you want a real quick meal) Very quick meals...all pre made sandwiches, salads, and soups. The pre-made sandwiches are actually delicious! Would recommend going for a quick breakfast or lunch...Will definitely be returning!

The sandwiches are always fresh

By Pilloo M |

This is our favorite lunch time haunt as their sandwiches are always just perfect. Fresh bread, not too much meat like some of the delicatessens, and a good combination of accompaniments. Hits the right spot.

Best Staff in New York!

By theweeflea |

Pret a Manger is great wherever it is....reasonably priced good wholesome and healthy food. We visited here on a particularly hot day and were glad of the air conditioning, a seat and above all the staff. To be honest we were here because Chick-Fil-A just up the street had a queue extending well into the street (so much for the promise that Chick-Fil_A would not be popular in NY because of their pro-family stance!)...but it was worth it. The staff were great...cheerful, engaged and really helpful...would come back to this particular Pret for them alone!

Fine for a quick bite

By Emily B |

I guess I had high expectations after reading about this in the New York Times as one of a new group of "healthy" counter service restaurants. It didn't seem like anything special to me -- the usual yogurt and granola parfaits, pre-made sandwiches wrapped in plastic, and cubed fruit. I'm not sure how that's healthier than Starbucks, though they did have more variety. I had the overnight oats and a cup of melon. It was fine, but I would choose Pain Quotidien over this every time.

Excellent place to duck into for a bite

By professor-type |

Get a bite to eat, sit at the counter at the window and watch the show outside. The food was (as is usual with this chain) very reasonable and super tasty.

Fastest service alive! Fresh food and plenty of seats.

By JetComTravel |

Pret a Manger is located all over New York. For New Yorkers who are always in a rush, it is pretty hard to get faster service here. For tourists who just want to know they are getting consistently good quality at fair prices, this is a safe all around choice. Food is always fresh, and a good selection of choices always avaible. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Overrated

By Blitzt |

This place seems to be greatly overrated. It's basically pre made sandwiches (that are average at best) and salads with bags of kettle chips, some fruit and a few croissants.

Great sandwiches!

By Gindylou |

We were in the city and needed a quick bite for lunch. The sandwiches and salads were fresh and delicious! Everything was reasonably priced too! Would definitely go back!

Quick

By Traveler2AM |

My wife and I wanted to grab a couple of sandwiches on the way to catch a train at Grand Central. Pret A Manger has many choices that were already packaged in clear plastic. The staff was very welcoming and we were out of there in no time. Later we eat them and they were every bit as good as they looked. I will certainly be back the next time I am in NYC.

Great place for breakfast

By Nataliekt847 |

great cozy place. always good coffee with hot croissants, fruit, yogurt. There are various sandwiches and cereal, juices, chocolate. Great place for breakfast

Healthy food, fast

By FLNomad |

I wish Pret was all around the USA. I've never had a bad meal here. Grab & go, but everything is fresh. Not sure how they do it but the soup is scalding hot, which was awesome with the reocrd cold weather.

Delicious healthy food

By lawtonjl2002 |

Delicious healthy food with friendly service. I enjoyed the chicken, butternut squash wrap with rosemary and olive oil chips. The company offers fresh food and donates food at end of day to the hungry in the area.

Consistent around the world,

By Stefan L |

My wife and I have eaten in this chain throughout Europe and New York. Always good. Soup or Hot chocolate in winter or ice tea and a sandwich in the summer this place has it all. I really like the shrimp and Siracha sauce wrap. Free WiFi also.

They had a non usable rest room; senior citizen with a disability

By Marvin F |

I came to the restaurant at around 7:00 am this morning and was told that the rest room was out of order. I stronly urge people to contact the Health Department, Department of Aging and Mayors office for People with Disabilities. If this is a lie, the restaurant must be sued substantially and the manager must be arrested and given a stiff jail sentence. This pandamic insanity must stop!!!!!!!

My go to place to start my morning when in NYC

By David S |

Go to place for morning coffee, a quick pastry and sparkling water. Find myself grabbing a sandwich to keep in my bag for a snack or lunch and all fresh, tasty and filling. I like their no waste culture.

Great quinoa Oatmeal

By Stephanie F |

Quick and convenient. this was our go-to spot for coffee and tea first thing in the morning. 4 doors from The Refinery

Pret Convert!

By MrStorer |

On our recent holiday to New York I found Pret to be perfect for fast quality food whether that be the delicious granola at breakfast or a scrumptious sandwich for lunch. Always found the staff to be extremely helpful in fact I was even offered a free cappuccino when the Barista realised I was from England.

Excellent

By QueenMimi |

Food is always delicious and freshly prepared. We went later in the morning and much of the breakfast dishes were sold out. What we did have was very good and a reasonable cost. This is a chain and provides similar quality in all their stores. We will visit again.

Fresh Food choices!

By juliebfromindy |

A friend and I stopped in to grab a quick bite to eat and we’re pleased!! Everything is so fresh and the location was clean. Drinks are cold and served with ice if you ask. If you are looking for quick, healthy choice then this is your place.

Fast food can also be good!

By Clara H |

Great for a quick bite - breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is freshly prepared, and there is a good selection.

Great Food in friendly environment

By JillyP |

Great healthy food with a huge variety in a clean environment. Prices are reasonable too as NYC can be very expensive. Enjoyed the brewed coffee too. Plus they recycle and give their 'end of day' food to those less fortunate. Highly recommend all these cafes.

Great Affordable, Quick Stop

By Liz G |

Healthy breakfast in NYC for under $5. Amazingly friendly staff. Clean restaurant. Great for a quick bite or coffee meeting.

Good to find some real food in NYC

By milktray |

Reasonably priced, a welcome dose of good English catering showing the Americans how to do real food at a sensible price. Better coffee than the UK versions!

Light dinner

By Rachel W |

They use quality ingredients. We had five people in our group. 5 beverages, 2 salads, 1 soup, 2 sandwiches, and 3 bags of chips was $60. Everything tasted good.

Unexplored

By Silver Foxes Travel |

Since I'm not from new York, this place is new to me! Surprisingly tasty. My almond croissant was flaky, large and tasty! I also had the butternut ricotta mac and cheese.. sounds weird right but darn good. Even yup a mac sand cheese traditionalist. Strawberry lemonade also good. Its a bit tight on space. Sewing four about 14. There is a wide variety to choose from, but if you haven't explore here.

Great lunch in NYC!

By Tom V |

Stopped here for a quick lunch in NYC. Had the Chicken Caesar & Bacon baguette - SO GOOD! Make sure to have them toast it. Great place for an inexpensive but good lunch in NYC!

The name says it all

By Lawrence B |

Fast, no fuss, good fresh food. The flavours are good, quality/price is good. They offer an interesting variety of fairly healthy choices for a fast food outlet, and the location is very convenient. My wife really loved the meatball sandwich, and I really loved the falafel wrap.

great quick lunch

By TwCat |

I avoided this place for ages as I thought the name was "Pet Manger." Not your standard fast food, some dishes are relatively healthy. They are also good. They seem to choose friendly and competent people as staff.

Recommended

By AKELAMALU |

Great to pick up a sandwich and drink for lunch to eat in your hotel, when you're in a hurry and don't want a sit down meal.

Healthy and tasty food

By Melissa S |

Their egg and mushroom brioche sandwich was very good and hits the spot. If you're into organic coffee this is the place

Wish we had Pret in Colorado!

By Catherine B |

I'm in town for a very short business trip and found Pret A Manger across the street from my hotel on a Sunday evening just before closing. I was hoping to find something quick and simple but fresh, tasty and healthier, and Pret was exactly all of the above. I recommend the Greek Falafel Wrap with a cup of the Moroccan Lentil Soup...so delicious. I also had a small fruit cup...pomegranate seeds, blood orange slices and regular oranges - not a standard fruit cup. And the staff was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I will go back for lunch tomorrow.

Excellent for a great sandwich

By UKMary611 |

The one we visited was close to our hotel, great for a quick breakfast or sandwich lunch, clean, good service and food.

Great choice for breakfast

By TorontoMichael |

How can you miss with fresh, warm, flaky croissants with Bonne Maman jam and great coffee? Easy to overdo it with the croissants.

New to me

By carole c |

First visit for me; very clean establishment and healthy natural food offerings. I enjoyed a chicken wrap and iced coffee. A bright spot near a window gave me respite from my walking about the city. Reasonable prices and attentive staff.

Quick Tasty Sandwich For Lunch

By Traveller |

I stopped here for a quick lunch in November 2015. I got a brie and tomato sandwich on a baguette. It was quite tasty and cost about 7 dollars. The cashier charged me for the wrong sandwich and it took a while to get it corrected. It is a very small restaurant and every last place was taken but I managed to find a seat. If you are in a great hurry between meetings in Manhattan I would recommend stopping here.

Delicious meals without a long wait

By aquasun25 |

This is a great spot for a quick lunch or if you wish you can sit and have a meal. My favorite lunch is their tuna sandwich, chicken burrito and buffalo chicken wrap.

Liked the small, fresh salad offerings

By LindaAZ2 |

Quick and easy with healthy choices. I bought a lightly dressed quinoa salad with egg and it was tasty and just enough.

tasty food (but not healthy though), great atmosphere, great service

By sipivu |

This unit, part of a very successful English chain, has the same high levels of quality standards. The food, mainly sandwiches from various countries, tastes good, is well presented, and is easy to choose. The problem that few customer notice is that many sandwiches are full of mayonnaise and thus are not that healthy. But they are excellent. The service, often by people who seem students, is lively, friendly and efficient. The design is interesting, clean and modern. Prices are very reasonable. It is my favorite fast food cafe chain.

Fast food with a good concience

By O_A_Engel |

Organic Food, clean place, friendly personell, for a spoiled Restaurant visitor it's the ideal fast Food alternative

Great place for breakfast or a quick early lunch!

By Syr2012 |

The food here was good and prices were reasonable for NYC! Good sandwich selections on baguettes. The only problem is seating is limited. We did eat here and one terrible thing happened, the business man sitting at the opposite corner of our table had his iPad stolen. Thieves are everywhere. Be watchful of your belongings.

Excellent food, healthy options and quick service

By hnewheels |

This place was new to me and I SO wish we had them in Los Angeles. Whether you have time to sit and eat or need a healthy grab-n-go option this place fits the bill. I had the butternut squash soup, my kids ordered a chicken wrap and hot sandwich. All were excellent. Service was quick and friendly.

Very good

By Elena R |

Easygoing bar! Good tea selection, very good milk! The best of is energy bagel!! Unfortunately just strawberry jam is available with Philadelphia. Sandwiches are good as well, even if too expensive for a fast food

My Breakfast SPot

By Allan S |

Excellent coffee made by Baristas who know. They prepare daily fresh and nothing remains longer than 2 hours or they toss it. A friendly competent staff.

How The West was Won!! …… one Pret at a time!!

By Ian Whitaker |

A brand from Europe that has combined the best of that continent together with all that we expect from American quick service …. excellent service with high quality products that you wish to buy at the time you want to as quick or slow and easy as you wish!! We loved the variety of hot and cold eats, sandwiches, pastries, salads, beverages etc that were available morning and evening … and knowing that "if its not sold on the day then its thrown away" The bottled Coconut Juice (high pressure treated for freshness) really is the best that I have ever tasted, the Latte and the Yoghurts every bit the way I love them!! We kept finding "Pret's" all over town and they always had a steady stream of customers ….. we tried some of the brands competition and they probably already know that they have to try harder if they are going to compare in the future Highly recommended

Good food, quickly!

By kateeka |

Food is always fresh. Made with less processing, more organic. Also, has some regular offerings, so you know what you're getting.

Fresh food that’s affordable and fast

By Meby C |

I highly recommend this chain. Their food is always fresh and reasonably priced. Also, while seating may be tight, all of their items are packaged to go, making it a great alternative to fast food!

breakfast every morning

By Deb H |

Great coffee, great yogurt, fruit and granola breakfasts, excellent croissants. Clean and friendly employees.

Very clean and organized

By kaje54 |

Stopped in for a quick breakfast - it's a stand in line joint, so check the menu before getting in line. Several offerings (hot & cold) in cases along the wall, but it seems you can also order ready-made items (a nearby patron had a sandwich delivered). Peet's coffee - excellent. All the bakery items look fresh - I had an almond croissant that was really good. My husband picked up a 'burrito' sort of wrap from one of the cases - it was good, but a bit dry. Would go again.

Delicious food visited twice in two days!

By Mary Ellen H |

Looking for a quick bite near Bryant Park, we came upon this great spot. The food fresh EVERY DAY! I enjoyed the tuna salad and my friends their lunches, too. Came back for coffee and breakfast sandwiches the next day. The staff was friendly and efficient. The restaurant inviting and clean.

Great Place for Breakfast

By 2cool4theroom |

The ham and spinach power omelet is just about the perfect breakfast. With a cup of their excellent coffee you are ready to face the day. My husband was happy with his croissant - but I need me some protein. The breakfast buffet at the Warwick was $34 - so we set out looking for a cheaper alternative. Pret a Manger filled the bill to perfection. Pleasant service and immaculate facility. We came back 3 times.

Healthy options available

By Oli N |

Pret-A-Manger is a fast food dining chain, which offers breakfast and lunch options. I was impressed with the healthy foods available, particularly for breakfast.

delicious and simple food

By Nada M |

ate them twice on our visit to new york. had different sandwiches and salads, everything tasted good and fresh.

Fresh cold sandwiches

By Htwo H |

Nice place for a quick bite of a healthy sandwich. Cold sandwiches--- $9 not sure how fresh--- expensive--- but it's New York I guess. $2.60 for a bottle of not very nice tasting water. Staff was generally young and brusque--- they haven't learned the words please and thank you yet. Cashier lady yells "Swipe down there, down there" when I missed noticing the self swipe card reader.

good food to go

By bogotanikita |

This is a good place for simple fresh food that is ready to go. You can be in an out in less than 10 minutes and food is always fresh for they have so many customers. They open until 11pm so it was great for an after broadway show snack!

Delicious!

By Lori L |

Great selection and interesting combinations. Healthy, fresh and great staff. Friendly and clean as well. Food is delicious and portions just right.

Good and clean

By aprilman |

We had a quick brakfast before entering to town. Nice selection of pastries and mueslies. Not cheap, but very clean and nice servce.

"The place for Breakfast in NYC"

By avasu777 |

After having a bad experience at the in-house coffee place at our hotel in NYC we needed to find another breakfast joint...and Pret-a-Manger sure came to the rescue, so glad too-totally fresh food, and they donate what's left over at the end of the day to charity-their yogurt cup is a must, plus its all you can drink coffee, and their chocolate croissant was one of the best I've had...cheap meal too...two can have breakfast: coffee, yogurt & pastry for about $17 bucks...you can't beat that in NYC-hurry there!

Principaled Pret!

By Melissa232692 |

It's been several years now since I moved out of the N-Y-C. Many things have changed and some things have stayed the same but evolved to become even better. How is that possible? I've changed too but my love of healthy AND delicious food stays consistent. There's nothing like being out in the street, hungry, in a foreign city for a conference, business trip, friend/family event and NOT knowing where you're going to get the best bang for your belly and your buck. Truly, I am a grocery-shopping, snack-carrying, water-bottle toting, save my money kind of gal! As life would have it though, sometimes ya just didn't pack enough for the day, or you're not in your city so groceries are not an option. Your hotel restaurant is beyond your price range, but you gotta eat! You need to eat. I am writing about this specific location but I am confident that you will find consistency throughout the chain. The food is fresh, healthy and good tasting. It's comfort food with 'modern' ingredients. I use this term loosely because the popular healthy trends are not necessarily new - your quinoas, hummus's, edamame (wraps) have been around a long time for sure, but now pop-culture has made them Uber popular. I digress. Years ago I actually wrote to the Pret A Manger company (long before this particular location even existed) after a meal I ate was so good. I had to tell somebody. This was before I knew about Trip-Advisor. Now, I can tell EVERYBODY! The food quality and consistency is an affirmation that quality products, good menu planning & execution, good people and a good community serving philosophy can and does translate to a solid bottom line, healthy profits and growth. They give their leftover food daily to the hungry. This particular visit was for lunch, but I would do it for dinner too. I can't speak to the breakfast offerings, but when I do, I'll let you know. Man...high 5 to that! You know what? High 5 just isn't enough. High "10" to Pret A Manger!!!!

Solid Choice for Lunch

By GlobalWanderer59 |

I became addicted to Pret a Manger 20 years ago when I moved to London. Thrilled to find so many in NYC now. Great quality sandwiches, though perhaps a bit pricey.

Good fast food

By cather |

It's really not bad. Healthy choices abound, and it's fresh an tasty. Just sometimes leaves me hungry, I must admit.

Good breakfast

By TinaQ |

I stopped here for two days in a row for breakfast (I was staying at the nearby Refinery hotel). It's nice, fresh and tasty. Service was friendly. A cozy place, you can either enjoy your food there or bring it with you to the nearby Bryant park.

My favorie coffee ever!

By JenBeaches |

I can't wait to get back to the city just to have this coffee. Everything is organic from the coffee, to the cream and sugar choices. It's very reasonably priced at around $2 for a cup. They need to bring locations to Atlanta!!!! We also enjoyed yogurt and fruit and bagels here.

Service with a smaile and good food too

By TearsofRage |

Fast food, eat in, service with a smile. If it wasn't so popular with the locals gabbing something on the way to work there would be a little less of a bun fight for a seat. But don't get me wrong, this is surely because the quality and value are measured by the customers it serves. It’s not for those wanting to have a lazy breakfast. I hadn’t really encountered Pret a Manger before but I shall definitely return no matter where I am in the world.

Breakfast with a lot of options

By Kaleni |

This is a nice place with a lot options to choose from, for breakfast! Coffee is nice too & you can start you day watching people walk through!

Delight to Find Open on Christmas

By sheilal921 |

We were hungry for lunch after a visit to Macy's windows, so we were ecstatic to find this restaurant open. The offerings surely can satisfy nearly everyone - wraps, salads, sandwiches. The quality of the food is excellent, so fresh and nicely packaged. We grabbed food and took it to our hotel, but there are a few areas to eat on premises if you prefer. The poor gals who were stuck working on Christmas were extremely helpful and kind.

Great Service, Better Food

By jstouder1718 |

This little store is adorable. My friend and I stopped in and got really good salads for lunch, and when I asked for a special latte they said they had discontinued it and gave me a different one on the house. Great, cute little place and all the employees are kind and efficient!

Very good salad but the cashier tried to intentionally overcharge me.

By Farhad A |

This review is for the branch of this eatery at 787 7th Ave, NY, NY 10019, store #69: We purchased a salad which had a price tag of $7.99. However the cashier, a young woman charged me close to $18 for the salad. I brought the huge discrepancy to her attention. She issued a refund of $7.88 to me. I believe she still overcharged me. While I was waiting for my refund, I noticed that she overcharged one other customer. The customer paid a little over $21 for a salad ($7.99) and a bottle of water. Our salad was very good. I will eat here again if I visit NYC.

Nice respite

By brentwoodmom48 |

Stopped in with my 11 year old for a snack and to rest our weary feet. Always dependable for healthy fresh fast snacks. Staff is friendly and quick. Never disappoints.

Always great food and standards around the world!

By Amit B |

Was great to drop by and grab a quick lunch sandwich while on our vacation. The food is always healthy and great. Staff where good and shelves were stocked well.

Nice Quick Breakfast

By Fletch1946 |

We were staying at a nearby hotel without a breakfast facility. We stopped in here for a quick breakfast before sightseeing. It does a very good job at what it does— serve hot and cold food, recently prepared quickly, at a reasonable cost, with real quality and very good coffee. My wife had the yogurt cup with granola and fruit and I had a grilled cheese and ham sandwich and both were quality. My coffee was top drawer. Not fancy, but nice.

A favorite of mine in the UK and USA

By Andrew E |

While having the opportunity to sample some true New York restaurants, was happy to have a nice meal here early one evening. A veggie wrap was terrific; afterward, a cappachino hit the spot. Other family members found good soups and sandwiches. Just a good place.

Organic everything

By Marissa S |

I loved how easy it was to be health conscious in NY. This charming coffee shop had great, quality coffee for a decent price!

Excellent, fresh, good for you, well priced

By Marlilyn44 |

Loved it! Need one of these in every city to promote healthy eating. Fantastic yogurt with green sliced apple and honey and granola. Amazing!

pret a manger great snacks

By Vee B |

We used a few of these little cafe places, superb sandwiches, salads, fresh food, and great coffe. Each shop we used was clean and the service was excellent. Fresh, fresh , fresh. I wish we had a pret a manger here. Well priced for good food.

So many wholesome filling options.

By Abir |

Great pit stop :) Had a small fruit bowl, water, connected to wifi & then continued my walk. So many options under 400Kcal.

Excellent, cheap and east

By Froggy1313 |

Wonderful food. Got a heated ham and cheese on a croissant plus drink for under $5. Great location, great breakfast options.

Always Dependable, With Plenty of Dining Choices

By Dave F |

Pret is always dependable. Fresh ingredients in well-constructed, pre-made sandwiches and salads, and several fresh soup choices. We enjoyed Broccoli and Aged Cheddar Soup, Moroccan Lentil Soup, and Hot Meatball Parmesan Wraps, accompanied by Strawberry Lemonade. A great lunch for a cold day in Midtown.

Quality Food never easier

By HoosierWisdom |

Not sure how they dovit, but the food is always of the highest quality and frequently innovative. The fruit combination cups are great, the bread on the long sandwiches is crusty and soft. This location has enuf seating, but as in most delis, don't be shy to grab a table when someone leaves

Great place to grab a bite

By ELLEN L |

I love all the Prêt à Manger restos. The food is always fresh, the croissants and pains au chocolat excellent, the soups nice and the staff friendly. This a great place to grab a cool sandwich or salad which are constantly replenished throughout the day. They are everywhere in the city so they're convenient to run into for a lunch while shopping or sightseeing. You can never go wrong with their choices. Not too expensive but always crowded.

Pret's a winner all over the world

By Jo K |

This is my favorite Pret A Manger. Great location next to Bryant Park, the staff is nice and quick, and the food is always, always on pointe.

We all have to eat..

By SelseyDuo |

Can't go wrong with the food. Nothing to dislike.....convenient and tasty......go for it. What more can anyone say.

Love this place

By Cynthia T |

Pret a manger was the place I loved to eat the most. It's healthy, clean and the staff are lovely. The other thing I like about this place is that it serves only food made that day and what is left over is given to those disadvantaged in the community. Highly recommended.

Awesome

By Shirley K |

We stumbled across this place on the way back from Rockefeller Center. It was too crowded to eat there, so we picked sandwiches to go. My friend got a vegetarian on wheat, and I chose an avocado and pine nut wrap. Delicious!!! The best part is we took it to Bryant Park, ate it there and watched the New York world go by.

Highly recommended

By Elena L |

It is a chain of food type sandwiches or salads and fruits that are all over NY. They saved us many dinners after a day of sightseeing. We took 2 bowls of salads (there are $8 and $16), a bowl of fruit ($6) and 2 bottles of water and took them to the hotel for dinner. Of course, about $45 but nothing is cheap in NY! At least it was healthy and very delicious food.

Noisy - impolite staff

By Vincent B |

No regular coffee available - not replaced for at least 20 minutes - bought a cappuccino instead - staff loud - clanging pots etc - not too clean on the floor - next time elsewhere

Everywhere

By Donny C |

These places are everywhere , it wasn't that good but convieent , I did have great coffee , it's organic so it's pretty healthy for you

Good spot for coffee

By dwmv65 |

There are multiple locations throughout Manhattan. They offer very good coffee with pots out for free refills. They also have an easy app for ordering and paying along with a rewards program and the coffee is very reasonable.

Great and quick food!

By Michele E. |

We stopped in for a quick breakfast. Prices were reasonable and food was very good. There was a nice variety to pick from.

Ordinary

By BTR77 |

In the middle of winter the rolls are sitting ion refridgerated shelves and cannot be heated! Hot chocolate okay, lobster bisque quite good

French name-British transplant

By Glencliffe |

Good for fresh sandwiches and a snack anytime. There are 2 of these on 6th ave within a block of each other. Larger one further north has more seating.

Great little lunch spot

Had a great sandwich, salad, soup with family. Sit inside or take out and sit in Bryant park. They have restrooms too. Great fast service!

Good value for money

By KarinDelin |

Great if you want to take breakfast fast. Delicious sandwiches and coffee. Also had a delicious lunch salad. It is not a place to hang out, but good if you want reasonably good food for a quick meal.

great place to grab a quick lunch

By caroltravels1016 |

very busy at lunchtime but great healthy choices for lunch! we had the turkey avocado sandwich and a salad. we actually ate here twice since it was so clean and convenient!

Healthy Fresh Food

By wanderlust309 |

I stumbled by accident on two Pret A Manger Restaurants during my recent visit to NYC. The one on cnr Madison and 39th Street and the other in 42nd Street, and was able to enjoy a wide selection of healthy food. I can definitely recommend eating there for people interested in a healthy lifestyle.

Fresh and delicious

By Stephanie Z |

My husband surprised me with a veggie sandwich and some rosemary chips to eat our last day in New York. He knows what a fan I am, having first discovered the locals in London flocking there many years ago. As I bit down on that delicious fresh bread, I recalled why I am a lifelong fan of Pret A Manger. Just wish we had one in Dallas! Their sandwiches are fresh and delicious!

Great eats

By AngelaGentile |

Healthy and affordable, ready to eat bites. Porridge, croissants, yogurt, etc. Fast service. There are many locations throughout Manhattan.

Very healthy food choices for those on the go.

By susanaloberg |

We have been to several of their locations including the one on Ave. of the Americas and are always pleased with the healthy options for any time of the day. They offer sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps, breakfast options as well as espressos and cappuccinos. The staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The food is freshly prepared and natural. When you are just looking for a quick bite you can eat inside, although seating is limited and cozy to your neighbour, or just take it with you. We have had both breakfast and lunch here.

Healthy food choices

By hideaway799 |

Ate here twice. Had never been to and Pret a Manger place before. Healthy food choices. Yougurt was filling and yummy.

Always good food and serice

By N R |

This is the best, convenient pastry and sandwich shop in any city. The food is always fresh and they have a good selection for breakfast and lunch. The service is consistently great and fast.

I wish the music was quieter

By knowsnyc |

Not my first time at this chain. But it was my first time having the Half Sandwich and Small Soup offering. These days, $12 for both is not bad. It is not common to offer half sandwiches, and there were many choices. The small soup is not so small and there were about five flavors.

Great food peace and quiet

By Numberonewonderwoman |

Very quick service and the staff are very pleasant too. I would know Pret from living in the UK and it was great to head in there for lunch and just rest for a while. Food is tasty, free wifi and nobody hassling you to go. Just a little more expensive but its NY city so overheads have to be covered. Definitely worth a visit.

Pret A Manger

By Amy_C_Seattle |

Had coffee here several mornings, yum! The food looked very fresh and good as well, although we did not have a chance to eat there.

Great for quick bite

By DrShan |

Staff was kind and friendly answering questions about how food was prepared knowledgeably. Food was freshly prepared and delicious. Opens for late hour dining with fresh soup, salads, and sandwiches.

Its ok

By LAFAMILLEG11231 |

Simple quick and fresh. Good for on the go and in a rush. Friendly service and fresh sandwiches to go or stay.

Consistently good for a fast bite

By evening |

Was in love when they first arrived in NYC. Still like their sandwiches, soups and baked goods. OK when you're in a rush but visitors to NYC might want to find local options instead of chains.

Showing signs of wear

By Alison S |

Stopped for a quick lunch with a friend after a midtown walking tour. Smallish location. Quite busy midday, but the workers kept it moving. The display cases seemed clean & organized. Floors were worn and the seating area wasn't that clean & had a disheveled feel.

Nice place and food

By Carlo D |

Despite the horrible end-of-year crowd we found a place to sit. I advise for the soup of lentils, expecially nice in a cold day.

Good breakfast!

By marios k |

The breakfast was good although in that specific shop there are not as many choices as in other"pret"!good coffee and snack.great soup!nice place! No wc!!!That was a mistake!

Quick and Fresh

By JoySilmon |

Loved Pret! The coffee is good and the eats are super yummy and fresh! I ordered a vanilla latte and chocolate croissant. I'd definitely go back!

Love this place! Food good and quick!

By happyfamily12842 |

Love the experience and the staff were outstanding! Smiles everywhere! Food was pre-made and nicely presented.

Great healthy choice

By AAppa |

I didn't put 5 stars in the rating because the espresso is very bad... Besides that, the food is fresh, healthy, organic, excellent... One of my favorites in the segment

Fresh food for a quick bite!

By n_kaul |

Visited the place with family and friends on 22nd June 2014. Loved the bakery products, wraps and coffee. The place has an extended range of fresh juices, cut fruits and salads. The staff is very courteous!

Fresh food, all day!

By MarkWorld |

The place: Part of the Pret chain, they are a convenient spot for a sandwich and soup. It's mostly grab and pay, but the display is nice, the signage is clear, and the convenience is hard to beat. There is some seating, or you can take it to go. (at busy times, seating can be a wait) The service: Quick and efficient. And if you have questions, there is usually someone adding fresh options who will answer any questions. The Food: I know them from the UK and fresh is what they're all about. It's the same here in the US. Food comes out all day long and things are timed to not sit too long. There are lots of things to eat from tortillas, to wraps, to classic sandwiches (especially their egg salad!) and a good variety of soups. Usually, in the summer, a selection of cold soups is added. There are chips and drinks, and some sweets, and of course, you can get a cup of coffee, too. It's a good value, for very good food. With the number of them popping up in the city, it will be easier to stop in for a quick bite.

Is this NYC?

By GypsyTraveller94 |

After looking for a bathroom for an hour, thank god for this place. And what a nice surprise, incredibly friendly staff and a nice break from the hustle bustle. Great hot chocolate!

Great place to go and kick-start your day!

By Hugh B |

Everything on offer is fresh... the coffee great... the staff delightful. So nice to see smiling faces first thing in the morning!

Fresh and convenient

By Tim H |

You can't go wrong here. Locations everywhere and if you're touring NYC it's great for a bite to go or grab a table and take a load off. Delicious baguettes and croissants.

A Lentil soup break

By Hashem M.T. |

Tasty Moroccan lentil soup. Jammed space not enough place to sit. Bad internet connection in the restaurant. Prices were Alright.

Not fair to call it fast food

By Richard B |

Ready to eat and very, very good. I love their bread, so the sandwiches are my favorite. Many locations, this is a few blocks south of Rockefeller Center

Disappointing. Not up to the food quality of Pret Manger in the United Kingdom

By Edward B |

Same format at the wonderful UK Pret Manger restaurants -- but the food is not nearly as good. They have tried to Americanize the offering, but the result is an unfortunately bland offering. The sandwiches do not have the great tastes one gets at Pret Manger in the UK. Disappointing!

Easy Breezy

By Oscar |

Quick Delicious Food. Discovered in London a year ago and we decided to go back. Had breakfast a few times and lunch once during our stay. Food is prepared fresh daily and is delicious.

Bistro-style fast food

By BAHShooter |

Had never eaten here before but stopped one morning on the way to sight-seeing. The food was pretty good, but it was pre-made and was either in the cold bin or the hot bin. You grabbed what you wanted (a-la carte), paid and either sat or moved on.

Absolute oasis

By Tiv |

Between our full American breakfasts and dinners, we only wanted something simple and healthy for lunch. We ate at Pret every day for lunch, we just loved their soups. And the sandwiches are pretty good too. Same as London (but pricier).

Poor

By United99 |

If you want a filling in your bagel expect to make it yourself. No way near the standards of the European Prets.

hard to find seating, delicious soups and sandwiches,

By Kip F |

It was raining and 2Pm on a Tues, so we were surprised at how busy they were, but the turnover was rapid enuff and the 7 of us managed to find enuff seating for all of us. The carrot and ginger soup was tasty, low calories and the roll that came with it was really nice. The hot chocolate was good, and the 12 oz was enuff for me. The others had sandwiches and were happy with their choices. The service was quick and efficient, tho the woman serving me didn't seem so happy with working. I would recommend it for smaller groups to allow easier seating but overall I would go there again. the only other complaint I had was that while the sandwiches tasted fresh, buying them already wrapped takes away choices.

Not Too Good?!!

By eventsbythirteen |

The quality of this restaurant, leaves much to be desired! I like fast- food, but, this is just old and tired! It advertises "fresh and flavorful," really just bland! I know that they are very busy, but, this is no excuse for the lack of cleanliness in their dining room? Make another choice!

For a Pret simply average, not well managed

By DoctorVincenzoVonCueBall |

Went there to get a sandwich at 4pm and they were out of everything except potato chips and some desserts. Where is management oversight? the Doctor hit me with a helpful vote.

Nice corner bakery

By rubletx |

Nice place to stop in for some quick pasteries or sandwiches. The coffee was very good as were the prices.

excellent sandwich

By CAK45 |

Pret is a reliable place for a good fresh premade sandwich. Seating was very limited. Ham and cheese sandwich was great.

OK - average Sandwiches & more

By Neta_Avivi |

This is a convenient chain - selling sandwiches, yogurts, coffee and more. It is not expensive and the service is relatively fast. It is very convenient when walking the streets of NYC and wishing for an inexpensive place to sit, have a snack and take a break.

good and cheap

By Andrea D |

You can choose yogurts, salads, sandwiches, pain au chocolat, milk & coffee. Great location near central park, madison square garden and underground

They're everywhere!

By Packerfancheesehead |

I liked that they had a wide selection of fresh sandwiches and other items, they are everywhere and very reasonable prices.

good place for lunch, breakfast or coffee

By Irene M |

Go to place for a quick sandwich to go, or coffee, etc. Good service, quick, the only problem is the security. While I was there sitting and eating, a homeless person came in and stood there trying to convince me to give him money. There really was no one there telling him to leave and quite frankly it became a bit intimidating. For that reason I probably will not sit down there again. But will def go back to buy stuff "to go" as the quality and variety of food is good.

Great quality ready to eat food

By ZenMind58 |

Fresh, healthy food at a reasonable price. Dine in or take out. We enjoyed a chicken salad sandwich and greek yogurt parfait. Organic coffee. Croissants, cookies, brownie bites for those with a sweet tooth.

Disgraceful

By Les G |

If you like your cafes messy, your coffee served like weak tea (undrinkable and had to be thrown away) and a 15 minute wait because the staff can't get their act together during busy times, then this is DEFINITELY the place for you. Shameful.

Always great

By nancijoporten |

Healthy, fast, fresh meals to eat there or carry out. I go for coffee and a choice of 5 different Greek yogurt parfaits. Lots of variety for breakfast, lunch or a snack.

Great sandwich to go

By Matteo P |

This is a great place to get a quick snack and the staff is really friendly and btw their grilled cheese is really good

Decent healthy breakfast

By The Swiss Nomad |

On our first day, we wanted to have something healthy to start our day properly, so we headed to Pret (it was located two streets from our hotel) and grabbed two granola yogurt with fruits. They were very good, portion fair and price about 5 usd each. Staff was friendly and the place clean. Overall, for breakfast, Pret is a place I would go back to,as it offers healthy options if you are in the mood for them.

Great for a quick snack

By Claire M |

We enjoyed the fresh fruit and yoghurts for breakfast here, but the coffees weren't amazing. We popped in at the numerous shops in NYC for a light fresh snack

convenient

By SCORPIOSFNM |

we have picked up food and groceries at Pres A Manger all over the city. Easy in and out and good fresh food.

Cheap and cheerful

By Casablancan |

Ideal for a quick lunchtime sandwich and pit stop (toilets need key code on your receipt slip). Sandwiches were tasty and fresh and the staff cheerful and helpful. Its crowded of course at lunchtime but the communal table system works well. Only downside was the loud music but then I am an old fogie!

Fresh Food and Great Coffee

By travelerE7805QJ |

Pastries and sandwiches were fresh and delicious. Coffee was delicious. Staff was helpful and efficient. Prices reasonable for City.

Nice food ,helpful staff

By randomhousereader |

We enjoyed several breakfasts here before setting off sightseeing . Food of a good standard as you would expect. Staff were helpful .

excellent spot for breakfast in Mid-town - 4.5 out of 5 for a sandwich shop

By World 🌎 Traveller |

I recently stayed in Mid-town and had my breakfast every morning in this excellently situated Pret a Manger just opposite Bryant Park. The food is very fresh, is tasty and is continually replenished. Wraps and sandwiches are fresh, the fruit portions are also very good. The steel cut oatmeal is a bit bland and the 5 grain porridge is a bit tastier, however there are a range of additives and toppings on offer. Prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and are attentive. I'd certainly return when next time I'm back in New York.

Quick Breakfast

By Amanda P |

Service was great. The food was delicious. The coffee was strong. It was nice sitting against the window and people watching. Quick service.

Ok, but why go here out of all the choices?

By travelerjane265 |

Average but fine sandwich/cafe-style fare. Quick counter service. Pret A Manger is fine, but it's a chain and they're everywhere (seriously - we saw a bunch of these on a recent trip to London as well). I found it find for grabbing a quick coffee, but I'm puzzled by all the reviews, especially from tourists. This is the equivalent of going to a huge city and then eating at a Panera. I'd suggest to anyone that they try something more local!

Great example of what a chain outlet can provide

By kunduku |

Whilst a well known chain, not all branches offer the same level of service but we found the staff here very helpful and pleasant, the drinks and food were great and it was clean and welcoming.

A real cup of tea! Ooo la la!

By dishTasmania |

First decent cup of tea for this little "down under" tea drinker. Real tea, real milk, real food! Great place to watch the world walk to work!

Too loud....

By Jocy C : Viaja , Conócete, Ámate Hoy! |

Although is a place for fast food, I felt it was too loud and messy. At that moment, cashiers only took cash, many in line had to go... On the good side, The variety of options was good and it's great to see they have a wide variety of healthy choices.

Sandwich for the flight home

By Bywood |

Rather than having airport food that is overpriced and not very good or having not very good airline food or no food at all we picked up a couple of sandwiches for the road. I'm sure we were the envy of the flight. The sandwiches were great and packed well for easy transport. Good variety of fresh sandwiches and wraps to suit everyone's palette.
