Perfect for dinner with friends, clients or fancy relatives! They have a lovely small bar where you can mingle before heading to the table. We were not in a hurry and were allowed to hang out and savor the food and each other’s company without feeling rushed. The 4 of us ordered on the high side (and took home some amazing leftovers) including the corn creme brûlée- DONT MISS THIS! along with a dozen perfect oysters, a small dish of mushrooms (not my favorite of our choices) the Moroccan Fried Chicken (served in a tagine with 3 delicious sauces) and the Pork Shank with sausages and small potatoes and terrific French fries (don’t miss the aioli mayo). Everything was incredible! We enjoyed their house red which was extremely drinkable and reasonably priced. Service was impeccable- including bringing us fingerbowls of hot water and lemon to clean up after the fried chicken dipped in the honey chili sauce. It isn’t a budget meal (especially due to our ordering!) but it’s not crazy and WELL worth it! Ambiance both inside and outside are both elegant, romantic and top notch. Highly recommend.

I have to admit that initially the name “Quality Bistro” did not conjure up an image of high caliber experience expectations. Really? The name seemed a little less creative than others that could have been adopted. That is where the assumption was wrong. Entering through the front door, the room was full of bustle and energy. Servers and managers weaving in and out of the aisles for table seating suggested the evening would be a pleasant surprise. And, yes, it was. Our server was on point and very helpful with suggestions. Starting with a savory starter of escargot, the morsel was still in the shell, requiring the person to extract with the tiny prongs to move to the tongue. The broth was delicious with the toasted bread. Superb. A Caesar salad version was a treat to the taste buds with just right weight of dressing. Main course was a lemon roasted chicken. We would order this again. The only regret is that Quality Bistro was our choice on our last night in NYC. We would have reserved a second night to experience other delectable menu options.

My wife and i went for dinner befoe a show and we loved everyhing about Quality - beautiful french decor, fantastics service and excellent food. We indulged with "butter service" - probably better for more than 2 people - but its was awesome. Steak frites was very good - large steak; and the halibut was excellent.

This was my third trip to Quality Bistro - all business dinners. The "Butter Service" is literally and figuratively decadent and is worth a try. The desserts are outstanding (the caramel one is completely sold short in its description as is the apple one). Service our first two trips was attentive enough. This last trip...not so much. Our main server was frantic and rude and pushed only the most expensive items on the menu. Support staff cleared plates without asking if we'd finished. One of my colleagues literally had a spoon in his mouth and his half-eaten soup was removed from in front of him. It became very clear we were being rushed out of there. If it were not clear by these actions, the main server announcing loudly to her colleague "I need this table" made it very clear. We were there for two hours, in total, and our food order wasn't taken until 45 minutes in. Also, the dining room is VERY loud and hard to hear across our large, round table. I'd probably return - but not with more than 4 people.

The only thing that stood out from our dinner? The prices! To be fair, there is also some attractive, thoughtful decor. This is very French - true to the Bistro part of the name, but not the Italian we expected from the Quality brand. But that wasn’t the issue. The issue was a surprisingly limited menu, poor wine selection and incredibly “meh” food. We weren’t the only ones underwhelmed. The couple at the table next to us had a host of challenges with their food — at one point loudly commenting “This is our first - and last- time here”. We had to agree.

There are far better overpriced bistros in NYC - I would pick another! So the positive first: service was excellent and fast and the restaurant is lovely inside. Now for the bad: restaurant got hot and loud as it filled up with guests. Dover sole was overcooked and the sauce with it did not have a lot of flavor. The steak frites although properly cooked, was grainy and chewy - I suspect the kitchen did not start with the best cut or do anything to tenderize it. Steak frites is normal served with herb butter - this one had a thin mustard sauce that was a poor substitute. Red wine by the glass was served ice cold. Overall, looks great, tastes meh.

We had booked a table last night and arrived 10 minutes early. Obviously we had to wait the 10 minutes they said before we could get in. That was fine. However when we tried again they said there would be around 10 min wait. So we waited the 10 minutes. At 20 minutes after booking time they offered us a free drink. Then we waited a bit more, but did not get any clear message on when a table would be ready. We were only 3 so not a big group either. After 48 minutes wait we had enough and had to find another place. So I have no idea how the food is like, but without getting it out on time, it doesnt really work.

What an amazing place! This was our first post-covid trip to NYC, and we were looking for a special place to celebrate our anniversary. Peter, our waiter, was absolutely the best! We had French Onion Soup, which was delicious. Our main course was the Filet au Poivre, and it was wonderful - perfectly cooked and very tender. But the Crème Brûlée corn side dish was the show stopper! Sweet and creamy and tasty - a definite must! We topped off our celebration with dessert - pistachio crème brûlée, which was great, and the raspberry Charlotte, which was a gastronomic experience! The presentation was awesome, and the flavor was intense raspberry tempered with crème fraiche. A must try for raspberry lovers.

FABULOUS restaurant. I normally hate the huts that they build in the street but these are the best in NY and are GORGEOUS. However, between the sidewalk and the huts is a BIKE PATH. As you are sitting having dinner there are bikes and motorbikes and motorcycles zooming passed you.......terribly distracting. For the waitstaff, a big problem bringing food to you and being afraid to be hit by this traffic. If this will bother you, eat on the sidewalk or eat indoors..........BUT GO THERE BECAUSE IT'S GREAT.

Beautiful restaurant, fantastic ambience, good music and great food and service. I had the steak frites and house red and it was delicious.

Overall, we had a pleasant experience. The food was amazing, and the French menu had a nice variety of options. The steak was a bit chewy, but the rest of the food was great. The service was fast, but not necessarily the friendliest. Quality Bistro is definitely not the cheapest place, but the quality of the food and atmosphere is certainly there.

run here so amazing food was amazing service awesome place is so beautiful. private party is welcome

Great food and service! We went there before a Broadway show and they were very timely with service. I had a fish entree, Brazino, which was fabulous. Also the floating island dessert, a large sweet and fluffy meringue, which was enough for two people.

The ambiance and decor is amazing, you can dress casual, very good service and the quality of the food is amazing! wine bottle range from 90$ to thousands$$$$$ but you can find collectible and very good wine. Pricey but a must if you travel to New York!

The interior of Quality Bistro is truly remarkable. Every detail feels luxurious and special from the bar to their separate but equally beautiful dining rooms. To start the meal, we had their crab cake and tiger prawn. Both were exceptional! For our dinner, I had the strip steak frites which was tasty but nothing unique and the pork porter house with pineapple which was delicious. The only opportunity was SERVICE! Our server wasn’t warm. He halfheartedly walked us through the menu after being prompted. He was extremely preoccupied with a large table in their signature both. The feeling was that our small two top didn’t matter to him. At $400 for a dinner for two, I expect to be pampered.

From first impressions, to the vibe and finally the service and the food itself is a simple 10 out of 10. We had the table side butter service, Moroccan chicken and a few other items and it was all incredible. The team here truly cares, not once did we have to wait for “our” server.

Very average food and service , and on the expensive side. They messed up my order, the béarnaise sauce was the worst I’ve had, the bistro fries not good, the special asparagus and goat cheese salad hardly had an asparagus , full of green beans and tasteless. The only quality about this meal was the quality of the meat. I guess that’s why we were able to make a reservation a week before on a Saturday night.

Went before going to the Metropolitan, expecting the experience of a French Bistro... which it only bare the name. The food was very good, but the dining room is so large with tall ceiling that it is very noisy. Service was average for that kind of place, we had to ask for haricots that we had ordered and mistakingly replaced by Brussel sprouts. Asked for bread that never came. There are certainly cheaper place that we went to in our trip to NYC that we're as good as this one.

Food was amazing! The seafood tower, French onion soup (a must) and the bread service (omg I didn’t know butter could be so tasty) the Dover fish was delicious. The burrata with flaky bread was also very good. The branzino was amazing, truly very flaky and flavorful. The Brussel sprouts were delicious. The asparagus was a little plain, but overall all of our dishes were winners. The only complain was our server was not very engaging he seemed bothered with our questions. We had a great time dispute that. Pricey so definitely a place for a special occasion

Edmar is a fantastic server! Funny and genuien. Food is great and the music is the right volume. Highly recommend.

How adorable. Lunch was fabulous and the outside street dining was so fun. Heaters under the seats!! The cinnamon bioche was so wonderful. Great way to end our visit

What a Wonderful New Bistro in Midtown and a must try!!! Food is amazing and the Service is exceptional and the manager Brett is just a great guy and very welcoming and will make sure all his patrons leave the restaurant more than pleased.... Highly recommend!!!!!!

Overall we had a good dinner here. I did have a reservation and we still had to wait about 25 minutes. While we were standing at the front waiting for our table, a couple walked in without a reservation and the hostess was very quick to dismiss them and say they could try at the bar but there were no tables for the night. Her tone was quite rude and they left unhappy. Once we sat down, the service was great and the food was good. The ambiance is probably the best part of this restaurant. It is a beautiful restaurant! The French Onion soup was delicious.

Beautiful place, I recommend making a reservation. Business lunch, without many tourists. Great service and delicious food, you can share it because it is well served.

As a consumer of fine food & wine, I always look forward to trying new restaurants, especially French ones, and experiencing the ambiance & service the restaurant should be providing. With also a background in managing teams within marketing, branding & customer experience, I'm acutely aware that a brand is a reflection of it's staff and every personal touch ties back to your brand. I expect only a few things from a waiter - and that is a friendly welcome, eye contact, taking us through the menu, checking on us after we've received drinks ... and most especially after we've received our food. We received absolutely none of this from our waiter and we were here celebrating my birthday. Our waiter was horrible. He never introduced himself, came to ask us if we had questions about the menu and never asked how our food was. He only came to take our food and presented the bill (which we did not ask for) and then said he pretty dismissively 'oh, and the other thing for the birthday is coming'. My sister did go up to your hostess and express her same frustrations - and she asked if she wanted to speak to a manager. Here again, while well intended, please don't leave it to your customers to 'decide' what's best to do. I'd encourage you to review the branded experience you want your staff to provide as a French restaurant. It's more than food - and an evening out in New York, especially celebrating, should be memorable, friendly, and leave you wanting more and not ever wanting to leave.

The ambiance of the restaurant is very nice. It is very tight in seating, but that is not an issue. Just good to know But the experience that changed it from a 5 to a 3 is the “rush” from the staff. The push to order was felt by the waiter as well as 2 other staff members. When we succumbed to placing all of our order - yes it was all brought out at once. Not only did we have a small table but the soup would get cold before we finished the butter service, etc. they did take some of it back to the kitchen. I highly recommend the butter service. Very unique and delicious appetizer. The main meal was okay. The dessert was most delicious. Snippy staff and the “rush” was why I rated this a 3. We spent $400 so I would expect that that would lend itself for a good enough tip not to rush a party of two. Oh well. Be your own judge.

My husband I came to celebrate our anniversary and QB did not disappoint. I started with a Bistro Spritz which was delicious and hugh! It could last the entire meal however I did order a cosmo as well. 😂. Stone crab claw was a special app for the night. One large claw at $52 is ridiculously expensive but it was very good. My husband had the crab cake which was good as well. We really wanted to get the butter service but with only 2 of us we’d never eat anything else. It needs to be for at least 4. Dinner was steak au poivre for hubby and Dover sole meunière for me - amazing! The real star was the corn brûlée, a must order side. Finished with the Opera Cake which definitely can be shared by 4. We took some home to have the next day.

A beautiful restaurant, delicious food and attentive staff. We were seated promptly at 5:45 (leaving for an 8 pm show nearby) and had a wonderful experience. We tried the butter service garni and it was delicious (basically a charcuterie board with fancy salted butter and other spreads, grilled breads). Our entrees were good but the ambiance made up for it! It was an expensive meal (over $200 with drinks, apps, entree and dessert) but it was worth the splurge!

I cannot stress how excited i was for this reservation, how beautiful the restaurant was, and the food I saw looked amazing!! My sister and I arrived an hour early, I planned to get a bottle of wine at the bar prior to dinner. We let the hostess know we had arrived, but would be at the bar. I received a phone call, so stepped outside which the hostess states "are you coming back", very quirt. We came back inside and sat at the bar. 15 minutes went by, the 2 bartenders were busy at first, then were chatting and putting dishes away. Nothing. We decided to leave, which the hostess yet again talked and treated me in a way I've never been spoken to in my life. Needless to say, i walked out misty eyed, humiliated and honestly quite confused. I've dined at other Quality establishments and never had a hostess talk in this manner.

If you want somewhere to go to celebrate a special accession this is a nice place to go to We had the sample menu and sample wine it was lovely

Loved the vibe of this restaurant despite the generic name. The food was great. Our waiter was just ok. Seemed a little aloof. Loved the cocktail in the bird glass. Fun!

During our 3 day trip to New York we had several wonderful meals and Quality Bistro was one of them. Besides the wonderful lamb chops, sides and Opera Cake splurge we will most remember our server Luis. He immediately asked if we were going to a show and what time so he could best manage our meal. He was such a pro- friendly, helpful, and super attentive with a touch of humor.

Delicious steak and charred brussel sprouts that are on the same level as Mastros Steak house, and at the same price-level, but with a more casual, sunny, airy feel. Fast, friendly services and delicious food. What more could you ask for? This works for business or family dining...

Honestly one of the best meals I've ever had in my life!! We went to dinner after NYC Marathon and was treated like a rock star but the food and service are absolutely incredible. SO many gluten free options including a delicious mushroom toast starter, Steak Frites, a marscapone meringue cloud, and the table service chocolate mousse which is almost like fudge. The standout was the creamed corn brulee which melts in your mouth. I would go again just for this and dessert but everything was wonderful. A free bottle of wine for NYC Marathon finisher was the icing on the cake. The service was outstanding and I highly recommend.

Quality Bistro sounds like a casual discount restaurant, but it has a stunningly nice interior with light wood tones throughout, and a high-end menu with extensive wine menu. The steak frites, tomato salad and wine were all excellent.

My party and I went on one of the coldest days of the week and we were freezing. And it appeared to be cold no matter where we sat: by the bar, upper and/or lower level. I’m pretty sure this place has been renovated from the previous restaurant. So they may need to check on insulation or heat. However, despite this discomfort the place is beautiful! The decor, the table setting, the huge windows….loved it. The staff was even more so accommodating. They offered to move us to a different table, they comp’d our drinks. And the food was delicious. I was doubtful bc of such a small menu. Surprise! Order the Butter Service Garni for the table! The mixture of items on a sourdough bread are perfect and can be made to your liking. The crabcake was HUGE and made an excellent add to the GARNI. The strawberry French toast is stuffed with a sweet cream filling and the syrup on top made it even better. The eggs were a beautiful yellow hue. Everything was served with such color and detailed plating, it was picturesque at our table beside such huge windows. Pricing was comparable for NYC. My lows: the chill of the room, my bacon was burnt, long wait time for food where we needed to rush to eat to catch our 2PM show at CITY CENTER (seated @12), no hot chocolate on the menu. Would I return? Yes, but warmer temps and to try a different menu.

Everything started out great with drinks and appetizers. We were seeing a broadway show down the street. After apps we noticed the main course was taking an exceptionally long time. Finally after 1 hour we explained to them again the importance of finishing the meal by 7:30pm. They couldn’t care less and we finally had to leave without eating and angry. The manager said to us “large private party in the back slowed down the kitchen and you should have ordered your steaks rare! Cooking a Chateubrian medium adds 15 minutes”. Oh please.

Food beautifully presented. Servers very attentive. We ordered the butter course, French onion soup tiger prawns starter. Lamb chops and steak. The steak was excellent. The rest was nice.

What a great surprise, excellent! Living in Paris, I thought this could be good, for lunch. Right so, a little french oasis, in NY. Really charming interior, friendly and soft spoken servers. Fun French meny. This will be a regular for us, when in NY. They surprised my bday husband with dessert👌

A+. Highly recommend. Milton was amazingly welcoming and friendly. Made our dinner. Jamie added extra joy by taking care of us. They made sure the food was great and timely to allow us to get to our Broadway show by 7:30. Atmosphere is great too. The French onion soup A++++. All around a great dinner because of Milton and Jamie.

This restaurant is fantastic. In particular the Moroccan fried chicken was some of the best fried chicken I’ve eaten in my life. Everything was good, service was excellent. An additional bonus was the ability to book on open table. Highly recommend and will be back.

Not sure if we were here on a bad night, but there were definitely some hits and misses. As far as atmosphere, I wasn't impressed. It is a bit like a Disneyfied version of Paris, designed by someone who has never been to Paris and doesn't know any French. For example, the rooms had large signs (I believe on glass) with the name of each room - but the names were wrong. For example, the room we were seated was named something like "Salon de Dining." I assume they were trying for the French version of "Dining Room." If so, the correct name is "Salle de Manger." I don't mean to be pedantic, and if I felt that the mistake was intentional and trying to be ironic and amusing, that would be one thing. But that's not how it felt to me. The service was OK - it wasn't bad per se, but it was a bit lackluster. First problem - the wine. I ordered a bottle of Billecart Salmon Rose Champagne. Not a $500 or $1,000 bottle of vintage champagne, but still a pretty decent bottle at $195. And then we waited. After a bit, the waiter apologized, said they were still getting the bottle, and poured us each a complementary small glass of their house champagne into regular wine glasses for us to drink while we waited for the bottle that we ordered. Then we waited again. And waited longer, with the waiter occasionally pouring us a bit more of the house champagne. Finally, a woman (not sure if she was the manager or ?) came to the table to apologize and said that they didn't have the Billecart Salmon Rose after all. She started to take away the unused champagne flutes that had been placed on our table in anticipation of our bottle of champagne. She didn't even ask if I wanted to see the wine list again to choose a different bottle of champagne - I had to stop her from taking the glasses and ask her to bring me the wine list. Sorry, but just because the waiter has been pouring us free house champagne doesn't mean we want to settle for that for the rest of the evening. I eventually ordered and received our second choice of Perrier-Jouet Rose. Then, the food. Some of it I enjoyed but found overpriced and not good value, other items I found good but nothing special, a few things I found underwhelming, and a few items were standouts of the meal. Let's talk about the Butter Service Garni. I saw it on the menu and was intrigued enough to ask about it, since there is no explanation in the menu. The manager described it as Vermont butter into which is mixed sea salt and shallots, and then served with cornichons, radishes, some sliced French ham, a few pieces of leek marinated in vinaigrette, two different toppings, grilled bread, etc. We decided to order it. It was fun to see the butter mixed up tableside. The butter and bread were really delicious. I could have eaten more of that. As for the rest of it - meh. The two toppings (one was a chorizo spread, I don't remember what the other one was, maybe eggplant or sundried tomatoes or something) were ok, but frankly the bread and butter alone were much better without the addition of the specialty toppings. And all this was $38. I'd have been happy to pay $20 for just the specialty butter and the grilled bread. It was that good. But as for the rest, we ate some things (the ham, the leeks and the cornichons) because they were there, but we would have been just fine if they weren't offered, and we only had small tastes of the two spreads. So the other $18 of the price was a waste. Not a good value, in my opinion. Starters were oysters on the half shell for husband and Onion Soup for me (it was a rainy night). Husband enjoyed the oysters (difficult to ruin raw oysters unless they have gone bad). My soup was quite good, but probably not the best thing for me to order as a starter when there was bread and butter service first and a main and dessert to follow, as the soup is a pretty large portion. I would estimate that I only ate about 1/3 to 1/2 of it. If you want the onion soup, order it as a main course, perhaps with a salad to start. For my main, I ordered one of my favorite dishes, one that is hard to find these days outside of France - Dover Sole Meuniere - plus a side of Bistro Frites (fries). The frites were a wonderful combination of soft, crispy, and savory - very moreish. This rendition of Sole Meuniere, however, was pretty bland and lackluster. The fish was cooked well, but the clarified butter sauce (served in a separate small gravy boat rather on top of the fish, which I found strange) had absolutely no flavor at all - it didn't taste like butter, it didn't taste of anything - and so it added no flavor to the fish either. Quite disappointing. I had a better version for lunch a few days before at the Grand Central Oyster Bar at Grand Central Terminal - that version wasn't the best I have ever had, but it was better than the one at Quality Bistro. Finally, for dessert, husband and I shared the Salted Caramel Gateau. I had planned to order the Ile Flottante (Floating Island), which is one of my favorite desserts when I visit France, but after seeing the Salted Caramel Gateau presented at the next table, both husband and I wanted to try it. This is a decadent but delicious dessert, truly one of the best dishes of the evening. It is quite large and very rich, so even with sharing it, we only finished about half of it. So, would I go to Quality Bistro again if I am back in Manhattan? To be honest, I'm not sure. Maybe, I am craving French bistro-inspired food and want a restaurant in Midtown rather then trekking to the Village to my favorite, Minetta Tavern. If so, I'll probably stick with simpler food, such as a salad to start, then Steak Frites with a glass of red wine, and Mousse au Chocolat for dessert.

After my wife and I attended a Broadway play, we had dinner at Quality Bistro. Quality Bistro is a sophisticated upscale restaurant serving French and American cuisine. They have a full bar, extensive wine list and outdoor seating. We began with a delicious crab cake and a salad of goat cheese, asparagus and pea pods. Both were very good. Entrees were the scallops and the branzino. We shared a side dish of corn creme brulee, The scallops were seared perfectly and the branzino light and flaky. Delicious desserts of chocolate mousse and the pistachio creme brulee. Quality Bistro is an elegant and delicious dining experience.

Gorgeous restaurant in great location. We sat outside in an adorable little spot with two booths that was warm and cozy and beautifully decorated. Our waiter was professional and funny and informative. Please get the butter and bread plate to start it was amazing how you get to see them prepare it in front of you. I suggest lamb chops lemon chicken and steak. My daughter is vegan and they had a special vegan entree. Also please get opera cake. It is gorgeous and incredibly tasty. I can’t wait to go back to NYC and eat there again. A sensory experience for your eyes and your stomach. Bravo!!!

Good address. Pleasant serious service.. a good beef bourguignon in NY.. fair prices for this city and a cellar worthy of the name. Hearty desserts.

We sat outside in one of the private little sidewalk houses and had an amazing time. It's a pricey restaurant but totally worth it. The pan seared spring chicken was the best chicken I've ever had and the escargot were unbelievable. We took 2 nine year olds and they gobbled up every bite.

Great evening, drinks, food, and service were all great! Close enough to the theater district to walk. The butter service is must to start your dining experience here. Enjoy!

This a very nice restaurant. Food is delicious and waiters and manager are very polite. Steak frites, steak tartar, salmon salad, lobster, everything is good. However, apple tarte tatin sundae is a wonderful desert.

Was a recommendation from acquaintances. Unfortunately for us it was a total disappointment. French-inspired bistro style with loud pop music that makes any conversation difficult. Barely ordered (20.00) starter on the table. Taratar strangely turned on, Cesars’s Salad simple. The steaks over-peppered and tough, fries like fries sticks, barely to eat with the fork. Should be a special night. Unfortunately, not worth the money... pity it.

We won’t recommend this restaurant as the service is terrible, and the food is not satisfactory in size or taste. The restaurant is overpriced. Our food came in an hour and half late, and everyone was starving. The atmosphere? It was way too crowded and short-staffed for a pleasant dining experience, on top of everything else I just mentioned.

Beautiful restaurant that has famous steaks. The bar is a hidden gem. Oder a side car of champagne! Music is good ambience, no valet no view etc but a fantastic intimate - charming - quaint - personable

The service was very attentive and friendly. The food very fine. It's expensive but worth every penny. We were very impressed with the presentation of bread and butter. Top.

Lovely outdoor space on the sidewalk (and not on the street). Attentive wait staff. Delicious food (priced on the higher end, but delicious nonetheless). When our daughter asked for a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail, they brought out a specially prepared mocktail just for her, making her feel very special.

I was looking for a nice place to grab dinner near Rockefeller Center in the late evening, and was very satisfied with my experience here. The ambience is great and my meal was tasty. Seems like an awesome venue for dates and group dinners. I can’t wait to explore more of the menu in the future!

I was invited for dinner by one of my sons. Everything was like expected starting with the meat which was perfect. You boast being a Frebch restaurant but there I have my doubts. You're playing around with French words but it isn't reflected in some of your dishes. Your selection of sauces is rather limited (your peppercorn sauce has nothing to do with a "sauce au poivre"and was very disappointing and I wish I hadn't ordered it.) I would have expected a roquefort sauce with my leat but there wasn't any. And the side of watercress could have been improved with some vinaigrette). Now the deserts, one of my sons ordered a chocolate mousse (the French "mousse" means foam , but what he got looked like concrete and belonged to the building industry not a restaurant like yours). As to my desert, the floating island was delicious but not a floating island the French way. I don't know what the island was made of but it was not meringue. This being said, overall the five of us enjoyed our meals, but please, be honest and don't call your restaurant French and stop playing around with French words that don't make any sense and border ridicule.

Outstanding French bistro with very good wine list (particularly of Burgundies) and excellent food. Best French onion soup I’ve ever had - soup base was perfect, savory and a bit sweet from the onions. My colleagues had the shrimp cocktail which sounded blah but was outstanding, with four shrimp the size of small lobster, three house made sauces , all on a bed of ice for a beautiful presentation. My bone-in NY strip was perfectly seasoned and cooked and was an excellent cut to start with. All in all you can tell this restaurant is expensive because they invest in great quality food and staff - and the setting is modern/elegant. Well done!

Great spot with wonderful service, ambiance and food. This is our second time back and we will probably come again next time we are in town.

The dinner was great. The appetizers were unique and well prepared, the cocktails tasty with a solid wine list of varying price points and the entrees and sides were quite tasty. It was a solid experience across the board.

We had a 5:00 pm reservation on Friday evening. Reservations are highly recommended. Even with a reservation we ended up in the tented area. Dress warmly since the heaters barely kept the chill off. The three of us had three different entrées - steak, chicken and lamb. All very good. Our servers were very good.

Don't get me wrong, we were all in on the butter course. Seemed decadent and special. But after one piece of bread, kind of done with the butter. And yet, my fish was literally swimming in a bowl of butter, nothing else on the plate. Ordered two sides of vegetables -- asparagus sauced in butter and brussels sprouts quick fried in a lot of oil. Fish was not good. We really enjoy an over the top, delicious, interesting meal...but this was just a thoughtless application of fat for the sake of fat. Really disappointing.

I was immediately in awe of Quality Bistro’s super high ceilings and charming ambience when I stepped in. When so many spots in the city are small and cramped, this place feels very open and airy which is a refreshing change. I loved my Bistro Spritz to start, and the escargots were divine. The pesto sauce loaded with garlic cloves was the star of the show. My spicy chicken Caesar salad was very tasty as well, and was just the right portion. Looking forward to coming back here for another great brunch or dinner.

Came for dinner together with my wife, sister and her husband. We had a few glasses of wine and enjoyed all sorts of dishes including escargot, crab cakes, scallops, branzino and much more. The ambience is French bistro and the leafy first dining room and greenery around makes it feel like an indoor garden in art deco-y style. Would definitely return, and will seek out the other Quality brand restaurants to try those.

We stumbled across this delicious new addition to the “Quality” family while walking around Central Park. It is not a cheap spot to grab lunch, but you get exactly what you pay for. The service was very good and the food was excellent. The main stars were the French onion burger, which I think might be the best in Manhattan (better than Minetta Tavern, Upland, and others of the same caliber). The corn creme brûlée was also a huge hit. We will certainly going back to try additional dishes. I like Quality Meats a lot and I think this may be one or two rungs above. It should climb to a top 100 restaurant in NYC in time.

Always a good sign when locals line up to get in. Good service, great food esp. the onion soup but would suggest the cinnamon toast / expresso desert is missing a little something. We like the location and will be back.

Great restaurant with excellent service and super tasty meat. The wine excellent. The dessert mmmmm! A little too much noise, otherwise just great 👍

Probably the 1st time I ever ordered Dover Sole and did not finish it. Too dry and the sauce lacked any flavor. My wife ordered a steak medium rare and got one medium well. No bread service. No salt or pepper on the table and talk about the tables - they were so close I could taste the salad of the person next to me. If you ignore this review and go - stick with the rather good and very creamy mashed potatoes.

We came for date night dinner. I can't believe I hadn't been there before! This is a great special occasion place! and great for business meals and most any night out. The atmosphere is luxe with carefully placed cheeky Parisian overlays. (signage, greenery, artwork). The food was excellent! We especially loved the butternut squash bread pudding and kombucha gnocchi. The chocolate mousse service was delightful and the apple tartin sundae impressive. Service was on-point.

We had a very good meal and experience! Great ambiance, good food and drinks , warm service. It made for a nice evening out. The Dover sole was on the dry side otherwise everything else was well prepared. We will return.

We are huge fans of the Quality group of restaurants, regularly visiting Quality Italian, Eats, Meats and Smith & Wollensky. We decided to try Quality Bistro and it really was a let down. The service was good and the restaurant pretty, but the tables were on top of each other and the food was disappointing. The burrata and strawberries was nothing to write home about. The lemon roasted chicken was tasteless, aside from the absurd amount of liquid butter in the pan. The dover sole was also tasteless, aside from the butter sauce poured over it. The mashed potatoes were decent, and the corn creme brûlée was good. Neither of us finished our meals, and for such an expensive meal, we expected a far experience.

Great food and excellent service. We reviewed other comments that mentioned slow or not so good service, but in our case it was excellent.

Birthday celebration for my husband. Once seated no one ever came to serve us. We were given water once seated by hostess but then sat for over 20 mins before my husband decided to try to flag someone down: It seemed he was a manager. He was nice and tried. As he opened the sparkling wine it Popped and went everywhere. He gave me napkins to wipe up. Things happen. We are still trying to keep an open mind for the experience. We mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday. We ordered the butter service which was neat and needed time for enjoyment. But soon after it was delivered the rest of our meal came. All too fast. No time to savor or enjoy anything! We finished and were waiting for an offer for dessert for our birthday celebration but no one ever came. Finally we had to flag down someone to even pay the bill. Disappointing. Not the celebration we had hoped for. Not the place for special attention. As a travel writer/bloggerthis will sadly not be a place I can promote.

Excellent service; the steak was perfectly cooked; but the highlight was the corn crème brulee. There were only 2 of us, so the banquet type seating with tables for 2 is a little crowded.

A more appropriate name for this restaurant would be LOW QUALITY BISTRO. We went for brunch with friends, and unfortunately NOTHING was good about this place. To start, the waiter and the hostess both were neither friendly nor accommodating. There are only really 4 brunch items, and they all contain eggs. When we asked if we could get a couple eggs on the side with the avocado toast, the answer was a hard "No, we don't have eggs to serve you on the side." Strange answer with other egg options on the menu, but we moved on. The avocado toast was horrible--it was guacamole smeared on white bread with a little garnish. The 4 of us each had coffee, and when there was none left in our cups, we asked several times for more coffee. After the 3rd request, someone came by and filled our cups back up. Fast forward to the check....my husband discovered we had been charged for 8 cups of coffee. Apparently they "don't do free refills." I have never heard of this before--whether in a diner or a formal restaurant. That's absurd.. $38 for coffee??? When we spoke with the manager, he, too, was aloof. I would NEVER recommend this restaurant, and we will never return to any of the restaurants in this group.

Noodles bolognses was weird and the onion soup one of the best. The filet cognac prepared table side was good. The floating island dessert was best thing on the menu.

Went her for a business dinner that my colleague arranged. She had been here before and highly recommended the restaurant. Wow, she was right. Great food, wine and service. The spicy caesar salad was amazing. I had the branzino for an entree and it was really good. I can't wait to go back!

We were a large group and had one birthday girl. Alex and Hector did everything to make our night as memorable as they could. We could not recommend this place more!!! Excellent food and service😍

One of my new favorite restaurants in Manhattan. I finally made it here a month ago and I’ve already been twice. I still prefer outdoor seating and I was very happy with the outdoor decor under a tent that they’ve arranged. The restaurant is very elegant with excellent working staff. The food is amazing… everything is prepared perfectly, even the cocktails. I was taken by surprise by the high prices, but I guess after a year of eating at home, any single item over $50 seems excessive. However, this is a very special place with a fabulous atmosphere. Feels very European and worth the splurge.

The atmosphere was hopping when we dined here for a friend's birthday on a Sat nite. The food was delicious, esp. the Morrocan Fried Chicken and brussel sprouts. We loved the cozy booths and great interiors of the restaurant. The location is great if you want to do a pre show dinner --- midtown.

Great food, the Butter Service is an out of this world fantastic gut-bomb, desert (caramel cake, in particular) was delectable. Were is not for really bad service - really restaurant management policies infuencing the wait staff - we would have been back two weeks later. Instead, we ended up at Del Frisco's, and Quality lost out on another business dinner. Why? First, one of eight of us was 10 min late, and apparently they won't put in a partial order until everyone orders everything all at once. This is so the kitchen can get it all out on scheduled. Nevermind the butter service, does not really involve much kitchen prep as it is mainly tableside with the accoutrement pre-prepared (and if not, there's an opportunity). So we ordered a bit late, perhaps a little "hangry" as we coulld not order apps first. Fine. Second, a colleague ordered Onion Soup (again, delicious!), which was taken away before he was done. Swoop. GONE! "Um, excuse me?" Then, just as we ordered desert waiter #1 says to waiter #2 "we have to turn this table, I need this table NOW!" Ok, fine, I get it, but do you really state that loudly and clearly in the middle of the restaurant? If you want to turn the tables faster, then how about letting us toss in the apps and take the mains 5-10 min later. Just rude for a place like this. So we won't be back despite the Butter Service and all around great cooking. Great cocktails, too. So we went elsewhere a few weeks later, and my colleague to takes his team here now and then will go somewhere else. Feels like this is really management policy / training and not just a rude waiter. Is that what you intend, Quality?

Dealt with by pablo who spoke us through the menu Food was just divine and so beautifully cooked with equally gorgeous cocktails to match It’s not cheap but I can say for the $100 extra on top of our usual evening meal this was well worth it and time stopped us going back again during our stay as oppose desire

Trendy, lively and fun bistro. The service was excellent. The explanation of the dishes detailed. We were 6 and we all loved our dishes. The selection of wines is also very good. I recommend A point of attention. The place is noisy. Those who do not like noise should not go

We had the escargot and steak tartare for appetizers. Fantastic. NY strip steak was like butter , as were my scallops. The service was lovely as was the ambience. We will definitely go back again!

The food is good here, but there are aspects that need improvement. 1. Why does one always have to play table games? Do they really need to try to seat you closest to the station where the line of servers is standing there like players in front of a goal on a penalty kick? 2. If you ask for bread, the server should not trick you into ordering a $28 bread service which includes stale sourdough toast, a tiny thing of mushed eggplant that was inedible, another sweet chili pepper purée and sliced ham cold cults that were also terrible, some cornichons and a slab of butter. 3. The prices are very high so the entrées should come with some accompaniment. I will say the portion of said entrées is a good size. 4. The service is fair.

When we initially got there the hostess “acted “ like she couldn’t find our reservation. A very nice Hispanic woman can right over and saw my name . Waiter was excellent , manager was excellent and pleasant . Escargot was delicious . Morrocan chicken was fried to perfection . The crabs were mediocre. Crab cake seemed like a frozen patty I was so mad and disappointed. Outside seating was very nice especially for a evening date. At the end of the night after my husband paid $162. 00 I asked the wine attendant (who was a minority as well) where was the bathroom be told me it was doe guest. I was disgusted with him . I said a few words I won’t write here.

LOVED! Simply everything was great! Food - don’t miss the corn crème brûlée side - Bibb lettuce salad - fresh/perfect. Excellent attentive service and lovely atmosphere. Lively but not loud. Easy location to get to our 7 pm show. We’re out of town “seniors” but were welcomed and hosted w warmth and care by ALL the staff. Questions answered - suggestions offered. Thank you QB! What a delight!

Super nice food. We had tender steaks with a good glass of American Pinot Noir and a wonderful dish of chicken, tastefully served with green asparagus. The premises are beautiful and the service from our waiter was top notch, the reason we don't give top marks is the sound level from the music which is far too loud, we can hardly carry on a conversation at our table. For a French bistro restaurant they should play French music as background music.

Newly arrived in the city and premature for checking into our hotel, we ventured in search of lunch. By random luck, we found Quality Bistro just opening. The outdoor tables are fantastic, but we were seated inside. No matter.. our waiter was top notch. My teen and I shared the lobster frites and charred Brussels. The sauce with the lobster was delicious. I only wish we had gotten a little more lobster because it was so good. The frites and brussels were plentiful though. It was the perfect meal to start our NYC visit.

Sensational food, terrific service, a pretty room — it made for a marvelous evening. The Kitchen produced some marvelous dishes: a crab cake that was probably 98% crabmeat, with a light, flavorsome breading surrounding it, on a bed of peppers and a wonderful sauce. The steak (with lovely shoestring frites) was easily 10 to 12 ounces of spectacular beef that was tender, delicious and cooked to a perfect medium rare; probably the best meat I’ve been served in New York in decades. Dessert (lemon ice cream cake) was agenerous portion — enough for two to share — and wonderful. Our server was knowledgable, very helpful and responded to a question about one of the sides by having the kitchen send a portion to our table as a gift! All in all a great meal and a very happy experience. We’ll be back!

We enjoed an excelent meal a Quality Bistro. The butter dish and the french soup are totally amazing. The service is very good too.

We ordered steaks, rouge blue salad, tuna tartar with saffron mayo (?), fries & sides of brussel sprouts & mushrooms. All very, very good. The tuna tartar & rouge blue were my favorites. Didn’t love the crab cake. A fantastic meal outside. While a quick NYC trip, this meal was my personal favorite. Lovely waiter, too.

Sat outside and had a great meal. Champagne by the glass filled to the top which is rare these days. Wine is very expensive here but the food was excellent. New York strip well worth a try.

All the dishes we ordered were excellent, including the oysters. Service was attentive but let us enjoy our Sunday brunch at leisure.

A wonderful evening to celebrate graduation party from the 8th grade. A special award in French for my grand daughter so we picked a French restaurant. Couldn’t have been better. Superb service by staff. Well organized and accomplished wait staff. The 2012 Pomeroil started the evening. The bread was amazing. Filets, Diver sole, French onion soup and salads are on the menu including Escargots, steak tartar, smoked salmon and crab cakes. We ordered Moroccan Chicken which comes in a pan. Also offered are wonderful sides and lobster toast. There is indoor and plenty of socially distance outside dining available. This is a first class restaurant centrally located with a very fine wine list. You will go back again and again. Reservations highly recommended.

Great service and the onion soup is just spectacular! And yes, you should leave some space for the desert ...and drinks?

The big surprise was how beautifully decorated this restaurant is. After seeing only the outside street tables we were delighted to see the classy and sophisticated interior. The service here is very attentive. The menu has a wide selection of choices. The wine selection is thoughtful and varied. Our food selections were first rate. We did miss a bread selection and even salt & pepper on the table. We will return before long. Note that prices here are even high for post COVID NYC.

Decor is over the top. Service is great. I have been there 3 times twice in March once on Sept 30. Food is great they make there own butter. My last visit was the first day restaurants in NY could open and the menu was more limited then I like but I will give them a pass while they ramp up staffing and the city ramps up occupancy.

We’d already been to Quality Italian on this trip and our server recommended Quakity Bistro. Not disappointed at all!! A fun, buzzy, really high end feeling place with really great food. We shared the lemon chicken and a filet mignon and both were absolutely delicious. Great - if pricey, this is NY after all - wine list.

Lovely American take on a French Bistro Quality in both food and service made this the top culinary experience of our 5 day Manhattan stay. Butter board, chicken, hanger steak, cacio e pepe - all good tasting ad served with smile and elegance. Even the beautiful restaurant room was adding to the experience. The music level could be turned down a notch but that’s a minor detail in the bigger picture. The wine list was a bit boring and basic.

We ate outside and it started raining in buckets. I ran inside to pay the bill only to be told by the owner that he was picking up the tab. His kindness came just when I needed it. The food that I got to eat before the rain was wonderful as well as the wine suggested by a wonderful female sommelier. I’m delighted and dripping wet.

The butter service was superb, definitely can shared with about 4 people, but just for the two of us, it was a lot to finish. It’s like a meal in itself! The steak, crab cake, brussels sprouts and goat cheese salad were very nice. The spicy bird cocktail served in their signature peacock porcelain cup was a nice touch. Overall, a great dining experience. Highly recommended!

The quality chain has opened the 3d restaurant in the 6th ave/central park area. It is a wonderful French steak bistro. Been there twice, and its their best offering yet. The food is great, as are the sauces. The staff is excellent, and the decor is wonderful. It should be one of areas best draws

This was a nice Mid Town choice. We are looking for NYC experiences that are not Italian and this fit the bill nicely. We had escargot onion soup, pork chop, roast chicken and a beef Bourguignon pasta. Just one side of corn brûlée interestingly everyone said they like it but it was a small portion and it didn’t get finished. Everyone was happy with their dishes and the service if not wildly happy. With two cocktails and two soft drinks and tip $80 per person…not bad in NYC

Yes to the butter service and any steak on menu. Also say yes to corn creme brulee. It was all delicious. Also great were the marinated leeks and ham as part of butter service. In nicer part of town....great location and pretty restaurant.

One of the best meals we’ve eaten! We ordered the chateaubriand to share and it was cooked to perfection and buttery soft! The sides (Brussels and fries) were also delicious. The waiter talked through the gluten free options and even went to double check the sauces so we could enjoy with peace of mind. Service was great, water brought over regularly and atmosphere buzzy.

What a great restaurant! The food was wonderful! Best onion soup! Wonderful steak and steak tartar! The server and manager were super helpful and kind! We had a fabulous dinner! And thank you for the welcome champagne!

I've eaten at Quality Meats, so I knew we would be getting a good meal here! The food was so good, service was spot on. The ambiance and decor are "post worthy". I loved the look and feel of this place! Highly recommend!

Great new space. Atmosphere and design is great. I ate here two nights in a row. The two tops are a little small. The service is great. The food is terrific. The Arctic char is good. The Cesar said is excellent. The French onion soup is awesome. The branzino is excellent. Reasonably priced menu. All around great place. I’ll definitely be back.

Without a doubt, sit in the bar with the arched mirror and start with the el diablo cocktail. At our table we ordered the butter service, which was decadent. The tuna tartar starter is delicious. You can't go wrong with the Chateaubriand flambee. If you're looking for a side dish and dessert in one, definitely get the corn creme brulee. The service was excellent. I can't wait to go back.

I had the pleasure of visiting Quality Bistro post-Covid shortly after the city reopened. I brought my closest friend to New York for her birthday and, after extensive consultation with the concierge, we decided to give QB a try. That particular visit left a lasting impression on me, serving as a motivating factor to ensure I returned when the opportunity presented itself. It was a delightful experience last Friday evening to share the same outing with my husband, and this time they exceeded all expectations! Every aspect of our visit was flawless! We started at the bar where Kiwan prepared the best "Last Word" cocktail I've had in a long time. He was engaging and quickly picked up on my southern accent, leading to a seamless conversation. He is truly exceptional and he set the perfect tone for the evening. Transitioning to our table, Kaz, Saul, and Alexandra attended to our every need, leaving us wanting not. If there is one thing you must do during your visit to QB, it is to order the Butter Service. I assure you, you will not be disappointed. For our main course, my husband opted for the scallops, while I enjoyed the table-side fillet au poivre and as I recall, we were served a corn Creme Brulé that was divine! The entire vibe with the lighting, decor, and overall ambiance is just spot on!
Unassuming Name, Fantastic Experience!
Pre-theater dinner with last-minute reservation. Very well rounded French Bistro with cozy and classy environment, tasty food, and superb service. Friendly greeting and immediate seating we were struck by the high-level of staffing. An expansive menu, there will be something for anyone. Terrific cocktails and wine list including solid "by the glass" selection. There was nothing we ordered that did not impress but Grilled Branzino and Black Truffle Lobster were real stand-outs. But in the end, service is what made the experience from us. Not only our server but every member of the staff ensured a wonderful dining experience. Keep it up Quality Bistro, we will be back!
