So disappointed. Quality of meat was very poor, both the meat and the preparation. We had the bacon peanut butter appetizer so highly recommended by our friend. So greasy, nearly impossible to eat. My had her first gallbladder attack that night in over a year (not making this up). I ordered my dry aged bone in sirloin rare. It was served medium. Staff offered to get me another. Sadly I couldn’t indent the steak without hurting my finger ( that was an exaggeration for effect). This steak was even more done than before and tough. Finally desert. The hazelnut ice thankfully was delicious although nearly completely melted. Clearly not a good night for me.

My family and I dined here last night for a my birthday. We started with the steak tartare (A little spicy but nothing I can’t handle.) and the martinis and cocktails we had were out of this world. We ordered the tomahalk porterhouse, and New York Strip. The tomahalk appeared to have been cooked sous vide and finished on an extremely hot grill. While the internal temperature and doneness were technically correct, the exterior was charred beyond reason, leaving an overpowering taste of ash. The fat was not properly rendered, resulting in a chewy texture and an unacceptable amount of cartilaginous tissue between the muscle and fat. There’s clearly potential here—the appetizers and drinks were excellent—but the execution of the steaks was deeply disappointing, especially given the restaurant’s price point and reputation.

So glad we booked here. It was our last meal in NYC and wanted to finish in a high. Loved the atmosphere and layout. We received a friendly welcome, which always helps. Water was promptly brought to the table and our drinks order taken. The waiter was very helpful and guided us to ensure we did not over order. I always hate new restaurants as you never know if you order too much or too little. We just ordered some steaks and the kids had some starters. Steaks were well seasoned and cooked. Overall a great decision and the bill was reasonable for the experience.

The double Tomahawk Ribeye is the best steak in NYC. The dessert menu could be better. Service is amazing, atmosphere is awesome... good vibes good food. Go here... don't go to Keens.

Walking in with the dim lighting, the decor, and nice showing of wine bottles was a good start to a late dinner. We were seated upstairs and promptly attended to by staff. We started with a yellowtail crudo, that was bursting with flavor and a hint of spice from the jalapeño. The wife ordered the Hemingway spritz and I ordered the cherry cola Manhattan. The wife loved hers, while my Manhattan served in a regular old fashioned type glass, was a little too syrupy and not on par with a traditional manhattan. For our main course we ordered a filet, NY Strip Steak, and the bone in dry aged prime sirloin. All cuts were ordered medium rare. For sides it was the corn crème brulet and gnocchi and cheese. The dry aged steak was the only of 3 that came out as ordered. The other two cuts were closer to rare, and the sides came out at best lukewarm. Out of the 3 the dry aged was my choice. To the restaurants credit they were attentive and immediately replaced the sides with hot ones. For desert it was sticky toffee pudding and humor me sundae. The pudding was very good and we could have done without the sundae. Overall, I had high expectations for this place considering I have been to Quality Italian and figured this place would best that. I’d take quality Italian for food taste over quality meats. I really wanted to like it. For the price point it just wasn’t worth it. Had the food quality been better, than it would have been worth it. I give this place a 3 or an ok. NY has so many better options for steak that This place was a suggestion from friends and looking at the reviews leads you to believe it’s a great spot. Unfortunately, it wasn’t this time around for us. look at reviews to determine what works best, maybe because we were here on a Sunday evening that it just didn’t hit the spot.

I am a steak fiend and from Chicago so know a good steak when I see one. This was not a good steak. I don't mind a 89 steak with no sides if it is good, but this was just not good. Ordered the Everything Barrata too - UGH a salt slick. Not even edible. Then when we wanted to check out we asked them to split the bill and they asked US to figure it out. HUH? we had a 2000 bill and you could not figure it out for us. THINK NOT.....

WOW! What an incredible experience at Quality Meats in NYC! Our dinner was fabulous, but what was even better was the service. My husband coordinated with the manager, Joel, to make it a special evening - and it truly was! In addition, our server for the evening, Monsur, was just incredible. He offered the best recommendations, and made us feel special on our big night out. I can't thank them both enough. The steaks were perfect, the cheese gnocchi is decadent, great wine list, I could go on and on ... ! Thank you Quality Meats, we will be back!

My wife and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and had the best meal and experience we could have wished for. While waiting for our table, we hung out in the bar where all seats were taken. The bartender (Brian, I think) suggested we take one of the bar tables instead. It turned out to be the best table in the house. The meal was excellent (tomahawk steak), and the service was outstanding. Everybody made us feel special on our special day. A special shout-out to Natasha (in the bar) who was above and beyond in her service.

My wife and I both had open faced filet mignon sandwich and it was excellent. It came with some very thin stringy onion rings, which were ok. Bacon, cherry tomatoes and green beans rounded out the plate. All pretty good. I liked the fact that there was no music blaring. Service was fine. The only limitation was the limited selection of sides and what they had was not appealing to me. However, as steak is the reason most people come to a steakhouse, that's what's important. So my guess is if the filet mignon open faced sandwich was excellent, the real filet and other steaks will be even better. If you are a steak lover, I recommend you give it a try.`

I was looking for a perfect restaurant and dining experience to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday with our family. Quality Meats was that perfect place! The atmosphere is upscale casual and our 2nd floor corner round booth table was intimate and allowed us to have lively conversations while enjoying our fantastic meal. All of the appetizers and sides were delicious. Our steaks were perfectly cooked and they even had a vegetarian option for my daughter-in-law, which was much appreciated. Our waiter, Jeff, was knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. And the birthday desert was very tasty. I would highly recommend Quality Meats for a special dinner.

I had high hopes for this place and had my mind made up that it would be fabulous. It was only very good. The butternut squash soup was boring and only barely warm. The gingerbread croutons were delicious, so if ordering just ask them to make sure it hot, unless of course you like it mildly warm. Or maybe mine was just a fluke. The scallop appetizer was fabulous. The surf and turf was a generous 10 oz but the lobster was a tiny bite, I would have like to see a more even surf size. The bread was delicious and the wine glasses are beautiful. The decor and service were also quite nice. So yes overall it was very good. I would give it another chance.

Never disappoints! Consistently good service, food, ambiance!!!! The quality of the appetizers, mains, desserts, and of course "refreshment drinks" is unsurpassed. For the first time ever, we're actually planing to have our holiday meal at this restaurant. We've never put our trust into a restaurant during the holidays, but this restaurant has been so consistently brilliant that we are all in for hosting the holidays at Quality Meats. It's a neighborhood gem!!! Absolutely won't disappoint!!!

If you are looking a nice place to have dinner Quality Meats is a good choice. You have to try the chicken parm pizza.

A luxurious and introspective environment. We ordered the salad fillet and NY rib cut, both were excellent! Attention was very good too.

I would highly recommend this restaurant if you’re a steak lover. There is a cosy bar area where you wait to be seated. He restaurant has a lovely ambiance, buzzy atmosphere without being too loud and over bearing. The staff are attentive and friendly whilst being quietly attentive. The food was fantastic, steak cooked to perfection and the side dishes were delicious but quite large so maybe order less than you think you’ll need. Our waiter made a sauce to go with the steak at the side of the table and it was delicious. Like I say, if you are a lover of steak and restaurants with an elegant but lively atmosphere I would recommend Quality Meats.

This fabulous restaurant is, as the name suggests, dedicated to high-quality meat dishes. The filet mignon was sublime, as was the prime aged bone-in ribeye and the halibut. You order your sides separately; there's a whole section dedicated to potatoes (the waffle fries are really good), and a section called 'New Classics' (gnocchi, buttered edamame, creamed spinach, etc.). This isn't a good place for vegetarians - sounds like an obvious statement, but it's not one of those restaurants that has good token meals for vegetarians. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is calm and reserved, a great vibe for refined dining.

We were in town for some “midlife fun” celebrating birthdays with Harry Styles concert and this restaurant went beyond our expectations. Started with Prosecco and Palomas perfectly balanced and very nice size cocktail. We went with New York strips table side truffle butter made it the best steak of our lives. Parmesan waffle fries, creamed spinach in Yorkshire puddings, cheese gnocchi and a salad to share. Soooo good, fun desserts too but my personal favorite was the sticky toffee pudding. The little cabins to eat in are just darling and make it a perfect date or girls night experience. Thank you quality meats for a lovely evening.

Fabulous, almost hidden gem, in Midtown. Filet mignon was incredible and my friend had a steak with the brandied cherry jam - delicious. Ambiance is top and food was excellent. Highly recommend

Lovely stuff, delicios and taste food, stuff are friendly and amaising . The place is easy to find and very clean as well. Highly recomend

Ordered a bottle of Cabernet for dinner with friends. It was awful. No consideration. Also poor service. Very disappointing. If you want a great steak dinner go to BLT, S&W, or The Palm.

A trendy and stylish restaurant that belongs to the top adresses for steaks in NYC. Try the filet bone in - one of the best steaks I ever had!

My wife went with 3 of her girlfriends to the restaurant. One of them doesn't eat beef. When she was ordering, she ordered 1 tomahawk, 1 ribeye and the ribs. The waiter kept insisting that it wasn't enough. So the waiter suggested 2 tomahawks and the ribs. When the food came, it was 2 tomahawks, 1 ribeye and the ribs (which was enough to feed 2 person), My wife questioned the waiter and he insisted he took down the right order. It seems to be a trend at the top steakhouses in NY to have waiters over order for unknowing customers. Furthermore, they ordered medium for the tomahawk. 1 was medium and the other 1 was well done and it was so hard! Yet the same waiter says no, that tomahawk was medium. After so many visits to Quality Meats, this was a huge disappointment with a terrible waiter who lies and no integrity.

Bad experience! We were in a noisy place where we couldn't talk to each other, with exaggerated prices, for 4 second courses (including a burnt steak) and side dish with two glasses of wine $520, and after leaving a $30 tip, the waiter came not to understand if there was something that went wrong but to complain because we left too little tip "because you have to leave a minimum of 20%), but for such a noisy place where we waited and were sent to consume 4 cocktails at the bar and the food tasted does not justify the price paid and above all pay attention to the prices displayed, taxes of around 20% must be applied!!! Outrageous quality/price ratio. ADVICE: DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

We came here on New Years eve and it 100% delivered on the great night we were expecting. There was a long wait to be seated but the restaurant made this right for us which we appreciated. The bar is a very cool place offering an excellent selection and service and straight away we got the vibe this was very much 'the place to be'. The food was amazing, we couldn't pick out a single fault with any of it. Incredible quality steak (we had the filet and new york strip) that is now joint 1st with the best steak I've ever had having travelled a lot. The best comments saved for last go to our server, and I feel terrible for forgetting his name but he was fantastic. We could tell he took a personal responsibility for making sure everybody enjoyed their New Years eve and he worked very hard to make sure we did - thank you sir! Would highly recommend quality meats to anybody.

Dinner before the opera with family of six including eight-and-ten -year-old girls. Great experience. We all got what we wanted Girls shared a tomahawk steak. Rest of us got filets. Service was quick and efficient. We got several sides. Baked potato and broccoli cheese were particularly good. Sides are big enough to share. Girls also got ice cream for dessert. Got us out in plenty of time to get to the opera.

We like to eat here. Steak is good. Branzino is good. Oysters on half shell is good. Dessert is good. Sides are good. Our favorites are the corn and sauteed spinach. Wine selected were good. It’s not stuffy in there, very relaxing, and have conversation along with everyone else without bothering anyone. Staff efficient, and pleasant. Look location for us. (walked) Repeat customer. Will repeat.

Service really good, and five stars for that. Quick service and always with a smile. Had the tartare and so good. Almost wanted this twice instead of a main dish. Shrimp cocktail also good and large shrimps. Main course filet mignon and Scottish salmon very tender and perfect grilled. Maybe a little too much on the steak. Yorkshire creame spinach was the second best thing and so worth the money.

Terrific for steaks of course . Unfortunately, I had the chicken which whilst cooked superbly was spoiled in my opinion by the lemon sauce. Nice salads and the oysters (specials) were super. Cocktails and wine were all spot on.

Terrible service - enjoyed the food but service here tends to have too much attitude and always hit and miss. Bartender Natasha was rude and clearly obnoxious to my wife and felt racist. Manager seemed surface level in his apology. Place should be boycotted to teach them a lesson that the World no longer tolerates such behavior

Quality Meats is a short distance from Central Park and is a popular restaurant with locals and visitors. The décor is trendy and welcoming, it was busy but although we arrived at 8:30pm we only had a 10 minute wait for a table. The staff were friendly and efficient and we were soon at a very nice table with some drinks. We did a shared starter of the the ribs and they absolutely devine, probably the best I have ever had. Ordered a New York Strip steak with Asparagus, the steak was cooked to perfection, was quite large (In fact I could not eat the last few mouthfuls that were left). Fantastic steak, great atmosphere.

We went to Quality Meats and the experience from start to finish was just amazing. A warm welcome, a lovely bartender, and a cosy environment greeted us. We had our menu thoughtfully explained by Louis A (apologies if I’ve spelt this wrongly!) who was so attentive and fun throughout the night, without being imposing. We ordered the fillet mignon and NYC strips and the suggested crispy potatoes and were not disappointed! The truffle butter experience was amazing too! At the end of the night my husband was surprised for his 40th with a beautiful sticky toffee pudding & a birthday card! I’m so very pleased we chose our special NYC meal to be at quality meats- I can only recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thankyou all for a truly memorable evening 😊

Typical American restaurant, with attention to detail, high-level furnishings with visible bottles. American recipes cooked with excellent raw materials, professional service. The cellar with international wines is of a high standard. Until next time

We went with my husband for dinner, at Christmas eve and we were happy with everything. Though on Boxing night we had a different experience with it. after the meal we asked for the bill and as it was 400$, we thought just for a couple 27$ was a reasonable tip. Though the waiter came back saying we should tip at least 16-18% of the bill so like 80$. There was nothing noted on the bill what is the reasonable tip required for the place, so this demand was very shocking and upsetting for us. The food was nice though expensive, but the service shouldn’t make you feel bad at the end.

Lives up to the hype! SO good from start to finish! Save room for home made ice cream! Do not skip the ribs app -6 big fall off the bone memorable ribs. Can’t go wrong with any cut of steak or wine recco. Enjoy!

I’ve tried Quality Meats for dinner with friends. The filet was truly amazing, the side mashed potatoes and spinach with garlic were equally fantastic. Less fantastic was the atmosphere: - we had to wait for hour table for 20min though we booked in advance and arrived on time - it was freezing cold in the resto, probably +16 degrees, while it was +18 outside - the music was so loud it was impossible to discuss anything So i recommend to go try the filet there, but you will have to talk to your friends after dinner and take a cardigan with you 😉

Lovely setting and good energy. The food was good, but not great, there are many better steakhouses, but the presentation was great and it was a lovely setting.

We were recommended quality meats by friends who had eaten there previously. It certainly didn't disappoint. Upon arrival, we were shown to the bar where we ordered two lovely cocktails. Once shown to our table, the waiter was very helpful, explaining some of the cuts that we weren't aware of. We ordered Torro Toast to share. This was yellow tuna on toasted bread - absolutely wonderful. For main course, I ordered the hanger steak with a cherry sauce and my wife ordered the fillet mignon. Wow! Both steaks were amazing, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. On the side, we shared sweet potatoes, pan roasted crispy potatoes and some corn creme brulee. The corn brulee in particular was superb and something we had never sampled before. Overall, a fantastic restaurant which I would highly recommend.

Fantastic restaurant the service was amazing! We enjoyed an amazing steak and the side was exceptional. Amazing wine list

The experience was fantastic. Our table of five shared a variety of dishes, including salad, octopus, chicken parm pizza, branzino, steak, and a couple of desserts to sample more options. The parm pizza and desserts were impressive. My only critique is that the tomatoes in the salad weren’t ripe. The service was outstanding. I’ll definitely return

I recommend QM to any one I know coming to New York, sadly this time the Service attitude was not as you expect he was rude and in aware I heard as well as not engaging with us, cleared the table like you would in a cheap cafe. Clattering and stacking to get our table free as quick as possible . The steak was tasty the sides where cold and overall very disappointing. Sadly QM are loosing the flair I have had previously, sorry I have had to leave this review but I work hard for every penny I earn and I expect the same from service when I’m paying . I won’t rush back I’m afraid .

Visited this place years ago and loved it. Huge disappointment this time round to be seated “outside” which I thought may have been in one of their lovely private dining booths with a privacy curtain. No such luck, we were sat right on the sidewalk, with obscenity screaming stoned beggars walking up and down arguing with the staff. For 400 USD, never again. Get rid of the outdoor “Covid” dining and we’ll be back.

Fabulous last minute choice! We were lucky to get a table on a Friday in December on a whim and were so pleased with the meal. Delicious food (corn brûlée was sublime). Lovely wine. Excellent service. We may have to come back to NYC just so we can come for dinner.

Really good selection of meats and siders. A decent cave. We enjoyed the food and the service. Lightning of the room was superb. Comes with a price tag.

We there couple with a child , it was boxing day. Came 2nd time for a dinner ( we there on xmas eve and was superb ) Good food good wine, after meal that took over 1 hour we asked for a bill. Bill was total 403.39$ inc tax. Because it was only two of us and child and it was our treat for the size of the bill. But there happy with everything we left in total 430$. We are from Ireland and 27$ dollar tip from two of us it was reasonable. Suddenly waiter come back a bit rude with a bill, and told us we should tip at least 16-18% minimum 80$ dollars on this bill. He left bill and walked off. we got confused, we took picture of the bill in case we missed something and added 60$ tip on top. That gesture from waiter ruined our overall experience of the night. we tipped extra because we thought we made mistake or etc. Is not 87$ dollar tip we cared after all, is the way we got demanded for tip on returned bill. PS server was RIZO B Table 123 12/26/2019

Birthday celebration . money no object. but I did not want to eat beef that day and choose to ask if the 1/4 Chicken was not dry? Oh no, was the answer, of course. Was so glad that it was only 1/4 because it was so difficult to eat such a DRY chicken. I never send food back. yes it is a steak house I know. the $62.00 steak my party had was good they said. the deserts were good .

This steak house is very classy with great interior decor and atmosphere. Service crisp and attentive, food excellent. Wonderful wine list. This is a place to go for a great experience if cost is not a big consideration. There are other fine steak restaurants in New York which better value for money but if you want to splash out for big occasion this is one of the places to consider. Our tab was over $1000 for 5 people with one of the not so expensive wines.

Me and my wife had a very good meal at Quality Meats. The food is tasty ,but not above similar restaurants at NYC. The prices are high and the service is friendly.

Very clean, calm restaurant. Good selection of food, vine and very good service. Had the bone in sirloin. Asked for rare but got medium rare in centre and medium in edges. But a very good meat though

Only GREAT things to say about this restaurant. It has a welcoming, warm atmosphere. Extensive wine and craft cocktail lists. Service is outstanding and friendly. The four of us ordered different steaks and they were each fantastic! Prices are appropriate. We never thought of a combo appetizer of bacon, peanut butter and jalapeno, but WOW~~ it was spectacular!! Will be back!!

We chose this restaurant to spend our anniversary in and a wise choice it was. Charming staff led us to our table and greeted us on arriving at the front desk. Waiters were all up beat and helpful. We shared a crab and avocado starter with the most delicious sauce imaginable. My husband had the NY strip steak which was perfectly cooked and my salad was very tasty. Highly recommended all round! You

We had dinner here on a Saturday night and it was a very happening spot. Packed but with excellent service by Monsur. He was one of the most personable waiters we have had in NYC. Food was excellent, we split salad, steak, spinach, and dessert and Monsur served it perfectly. Excellent wine list also.

Frankly shocked for a place like QM - we were served that should have been a hot lobster dish - cold !! We were even told it wasn’t meant to be cold - it was even served on a mini griddle. We had an ‘oh sorry’ - after the event. And no attempt to remedy

Great food. Horrific reservation experience every time. Table never ready at the time of your booking. Hosts are sometimes polite and apologetic, also can be rude. Nowhere to stand/sit waiting, bar area is always packed so end up at the entrance waiting. Min 30 mins past reso time, last time I walked out and went elsewhere.

So not a place for vegetarians …..it’s really exceptional. Try the rib starter or the bacon starter. All the mains are amazing. Wines and service off the charts. Strongly recommended.

Quality Meats is a top class restaurant and the food is absolutely great. The bacon slices are a great starter. Sides are very large and for sharing. Recommended

This was a very charming place. It seemed to have many business meetings though. It was loud and hard to hear the people in your party. The food was very good.

This is only a place to go if you’re young, rich and can eat fast. They couldn’t get my 90 year old parents out of there fast enough and cleared a 20 dollar cocktail I hadn’t touched to turn the table over so they could get someone else in. They told me “you get 2 hours” we hadn’t been there 1 and a half. And only came back because one of the waitstaff begged for the support. When my mother called they told her people asked to be moved away even though we had barely made a sound and the people around us were so loud we couldn’t have spoken over them if we wanted to. What was clear is we were an “eyesore” to them. And they wanted to ensure we never returned. Problem solved. What I don’t understand is why they are not subject to laws that protect people from ageism? They are very proud they are not and told me so. The manager, who is about 8 told me so and made it clear we are not the kind of people their chain of over priced loud restaurants are trying to attract. It’s is not handicapped accessible and they were so rude I plan to make it my life’s mission to shut them down. Why should my parents who worked hard all their life be made uncomfortable so Quality Meats can look hip? Do not support these pigs.

Stumbled into Quality Meats because it was across from our hotel and were absolutely blown away by the place! Everything was stellar-friendly staff, fun drinks, cozy hip atmosphere and AMAZING food!

Enjoyed an amazing meal with girlfriends on birthday trip to NYC - service was excellent, drinks very good and one of the best steaks I've had in a restaurant in a very long time!

This was our 25th anniversary dinner, so we were excited to eat here. We thought we were reserving a Cabin table, but we had an outdoor table instead which actually worked out better. Our waiter TJ was outstanding, as was all the staff that served us. Dinner was excellent, from the hamachi to the filet and sides to the complimentary dessert. Our steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and delicious. We were given the corn creme brûlée which was quite tasty. TJ helped us choose everything in regards to our food allergies and his suggestions were spot on. We highly recommend this restaurant for an amazing meal, not just for a special occasion, although they made our anniversary a very memorable evening. Thanks to all, including Joel--you have a special staff who made our evening something to remember. Highly recommended! We can't wait to come back next time we're in NYC!

Food was amazing. Filets were perfectly prepared. Reviewers were not wrong about the corn Creme brûlée or the Parmesan truffle fries. Both were great. We also had the Cookie Monster for dessert. Very good. The only issue we had was our server. Not sure if he was pretentious or hard of hearing or both. We ordered our appetizers and he said he’d be back. We waved him over to our table 20 minutes later and he told us he hadn’t put our appetizer order in, because we are supposed to order our appetizer and mains at the same time. Would have been nice if someone (our server, perhaps?) had told us. He also had zero sense of humor.

2 years ago, we had the best meal of our lives. This visit was incredibly sad. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, filet mignon, potato side dish, a dessert that had chocolate mousse or ice cream ( I don't remember at this point, it was just a sad experience) The wine was good, steaks cooked correctly and were delicious. The service was okay. I don't know if it was because it was a week before Christmas or what, but it seemed as though they had added more tables to an already cramped space. It was loud and nobody could manuver through the room without having squeeze through and bump everyone in their path. Us included and I'm very petite under 5 ft. They have removed the tiny pies w/ice cream and cakes from the menu. If we could have had either one of those items it would have brightened the experience.

It's a very nice atmosphere, and the aesthetics are beautiful. The food was amazing, the rib steaks. Overall very solid food, really amazing.

Great food and ambiance await you at Quality Meats. We enjoyed the filet, tomato salad, broccoli bites, mashed potatoes and bacon. The steak was cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth. The only item I wouldn't recommend are the broccoli bites as they were primarily all cheese and fried which isn't to my liking. The service is outstanding. Do be aware of the pricing as this is not a cheap restaurant but doesn't disappoint.

A perfect Filet Mignon at the Bar with very friendly and qualified staff in a good tamper. It was a pleasure! Reservation reasonable for a table.

Lunch with wife in a cozy NYC restaurant. Great steak (her) and just to try I had the fish (Branzino!) Oysters on half shell West and East. Sides of behold corn and spinach. Recommend wine were excellent to exquisitely matched to our food. intended one byte tasting of dessert ended up consumption of the whole for both of us. Steak was pretty good, like perfectly done and exquisite taste. Branzino is a fish I highly recommend you try if you never had it, its pretty good too. Their dessert that we tried, also pretty good. Out waiter one from I think he said from Bosnia, was exece!!ent. I did not ask our other waiter where he was from but also with excellent service, both very personable. The maitreD as you walk in very polite and pleasant getting seated by our waiter (not the Bosnian), after coat check to a nice table. The interior of the restaurant tastefully attired, not overdone but eye catching museum like. Force yourself to their dessert. You will enjoy. Highly recommended. These places give reason why I love NY.

We celebrated Ferragosto at Quality Meats in New York, a trendy and centrally located spot with a chic yet unpretentious ambiance. The elegant setting, featuring wine bottles on display and soft lighting, added to the experience. The staff was exceptionally courteous and attentive. Our party of four adults and three children enjoyed excellent meat dishes with generous sides, and the option of smaller portions for the kids was a plus. Prices were reasonable for New York standards. The wine selection was impressive, with high-end options and the possibility of ordering by the glass, though the prices reflected the quality. One tip: avoid buying bottled water, as it cost us $50 for four bottles. Tap water is always a smarter choice in NYC. Overall, I highly recommend this place—especially when relying on Amex recommendations, as always.

It’s a very nicely designed restaurant, low lighting and industrial decor. We were invited to wait in the bar area but were shown to our table before we had ordered a drink. Service was attentive if a little pushy in terms of recommendations. The menu is quite limited with only one alternative option to steak. We had 3 different steaks and a roast chicken. The steaks were all nicely cooked and as ordered. The sides weren’t quite as good particularly given the price of each dish. Overall it was an ok experience but not worth the cost of meal. One other thing that took the enjoyment out of meal was the temperature of the room, it went from pleasantly warm to really quite cold with a constant cold breeze hitting our table.

Stopped by Saturday before a show. Nice seat at the bar. Nice waiter. Had two items from the specials - Bloody Mary oyster and the Maple Sweet potatoes. Very good (though the oyster was small at $5.) The tuna tartar appetizer was really bad. A thick layer of crispy onions covered the tuna which lacked any taste other than HOT and scallions which were scattered throughout. (That's a LOT of onion flavor.) Even scrapping off half the crispy onions, the tuna tasted only of hot sauce and onion - a bit tragic for what may have been decent tuna. The Sauvignon Blanc from France was nice, served in lovely stemware, and again, service and presentation was great but food - enh.

Hurried experience, patchy quality for price. Very crowded before being seated, had to stand in small bar area for 10 mins despite being on time for reservation. Starter courses quite meagre for price and the Bacon one was cold. Mains arrived very, very quickly after starters, consequently we both felt uncomfortably full. Hanger steak was beautifully cooked. I always look to visit QM when in NYC but will probably try somewhere new next time.

Managed to get a last minute cancellation through American Express and glad we did. After being shown to the bar we were taken to our table upstairs, the place is busy with a lively atmosphere with low lighting. We ordered fillet steak & New York strip with potatoes and asparagus all cooked to perfection. Our waitress Stacey H looked after us being professional & hardworking a real credit to the restaurant. We would definitely recommend.

In addition to form, there is substance here. High quality meat, cooked with precision. Perhaps the only thing that needs improvement is the presentation of the dishes, but unfortunately I noticed that it is a somewhat common flaw here. The dishes we chose were excellent: Filet Mignon, Hanger Steak and sautéed spinach. The bill is very high, so I advise against it for those who don't want to spend a lot. Recommended for those who know what they are going to eat, that is, a first choice of meat, prepared with skill. If I could do it, I would go there once a month

Came here due to being highly ranked on Tripadvisor and some people saying it’s the best meal they ever had! Maybe we’ve been spoilt over the years but it was quite disappointing. The setting was lovely and service was very good and generous food portions but it stopped there. Marked down for two reasons; one was the price (£73 minimum price for an average bottle of wine is just plain greedy) and the second was their response to something pointed out. I ordered the NY strip steak (sirloin as it’s better known) Medium to well, our daughter ordered filet medium to well and my husband ordered NY strip rare to medium. I tried eating mine but as I got further into it, it was clear it was not cooked to perfection. The outside was burnt and rock hard (charcoaled but too overdone) it was like an old boot. Medium to well down should have pink running through it; this did not. There was no pink anywhere. Our daughters was cooked right and my husbands was cooked right. So I told the waiter I was struggling to chew it and he took it and, fair enough, no quibble, said he’d sort it. As I’d tried to eat it I said I did not want a massive whole big steak just a very small piece and he said filet. I’m not sure if he said that as if the steak I’d picked was not appropriate for medium to well or if he said that relating to size. So the second steak came out and was so much better although the fries etc were stone cold by then and everyone else had finished eating. The Manager came over and apologised profusely too so we were thinking that’s very good; they’ve handled it very well. Then we got the bill. They’d crossed out the price of my original NY Strip and replaced it for the higher priced filet. Now we’re only talking $2 difference but it was the principle of it and it’s the fact that they did it which left a bad taste (excuse the pun) because we thought they’d changed it because it was their mistake it was overcooked. Conclusion - definitely not a £300 meal with two glasses of wine. We’ve eaten better quality meat, cooked to perfection, with better quality wine for a lot less money in other parts of the world.

We made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We ordered our “quality meat steak” and they came out under cooked and fatty. Not a very good cut of meat. I would not recommend this restaurant since I believe it could be hit or miss or you order fish. You are better at going to Ruth Chris if you want a good cut or meat.

Our hotel advised us to come here because the meat is exclusive, perfect cooking, good value for money

Excellent steak, appetizers, service and drinks. Wonderful ambience, buzzy. Big restaurant, but didn’t feel cavernous.

Excellent food and service at this new-aged meat lover's paradise. Our porterhouse was well seasoned, juicy, and cooked perfectly medium-rare. We also enjoyed the creamed corn creme brulee and the creamed spinach. Our waiter (Mike A) was friendly and professional - all the service was terrific. We sat in a heated outdoor cabin which was private and cozy. Highly recommend this steakhouse.

We had dinner here one night during our recent trip to New York. The food was amazing. The best filet mignon I’ve ever had. The sticky toffee pudding was a real treat for dessert. The service was top notch. I would definitely recommend, despite being an expensive evening. You definitely got what you paid for. I would love to return on my next trip

the corn cream brulee was fantastic! the young lady who took care of us was a good sport, even if she took my wife's side on every discussion-

Our hotel concierge recommended Quality Meats to us, so we gave it a shot on our recent trip after New Years to NYC. We were very happy with our meal and the restaurant overall. The service was great and the food matched. It's typical NYC expensive, but worth it. My wife and I were hungry and we started with 2 apps each. We had the butternut squash soup with gingerbread croutons (amazing!) and crab/avocado salad (with a very tasty tomato habanero pepper sauce). For entrees, I had the surf & turf special and my wife had the Halibut. Both were cooked how we requested and were seasoned perfectly. By the way, the dinner rolls they serve complimentary are really good. The sea salt on top makes them taste even better. We figured since we were pigging out that we might as well have desert. We shared a cookie monster based on our waiters recommendation. It was delicious. The restaurant has multiple levels and we liked the atmosphere. They also have great music playing in the background (if you like acid jazz/down tempo). We will be back the next time we are in NYC.

This was our first time at Quality Meats. We had reservations so we only had to wait a few minutes for our table. Just enough time to have a fabulous cocktail in their cozy bar. I love the decor of this restaurant, nice low lighting and fabulous wine walled staircase. My husband started with Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and I had the Seared Fois Gras. It was really, really good. My husband then had to bone-in Ribeye and I actually had the Crab Cake Appetizer as my main. We shared a side of Crisp Potatoes with our mains. Everything was of a very high quality and the service was excellent. The whole evening was excellent from start to finish.

Best meat place ever! The taste and experience were one of a kind! Salty prices however totally worth it! We'll definitely come back!

It was a wonderful experience. A restaurant with a good vibe. The staff were very attentive, and the food was of the highest quality.

As NYC residents, we've been to many Steakhouses - in NYC and the US. This might be our current favorite. Great food, excellent service, and lacking of the Wall Street, brosims of some other downtown Steakhouses. Zero negatives.

Interesting place was very packed ! Very very noisy Food was pretty good but expensive ! The server was a bit confused , the ribs appetizer was slightly over burnt . But the meat we shared for 155$ was pretty amazing

Dry aged meatballs and bacon apps were very good. 2 strips and 2 filets. 3 out 4 steaks were very good. 1 NY strip was not center cut and a vein steak. Pulled out a 2-3 inch vein. Sides and desserts very good. Service was also very good.

Perfectly cooked steaks. Delicious. But I highly recommend the bacon appetizer! Four slices of thick bacon with chunky "peanut butter" and apple/jalapeño spread. Sooooooo delicious - very grateful for the waiter suggesting that one! sounds crazy, but I can't wait to go back for more. Also outstanding was the corn creme brûlée (yes, you read that right)..... very glad to have some unique dishes that are also delicious to go along with our steak. Yes, there are lots of steakhouses in NYC... we will return to this one. Our waiter was excellent.

Great place frequented very well. We stayed during the week and the place was crowded. Recommended, we will definitely return

The restaurant was packed but not too loud..nicely decorated. The steaks were amazing and I'm not a huge steak person but they were cooked perfectly, tasty and definitely memorable.

Great ambiance, very beautiful, wonderful service, filet was excellent, and my veal chop was the best that I have ever had. This was a perfect dinner and I was very happy someone else was picking up the bill.

Best restaurant I’ve ever ever been to in my lifetime. Shak and Mindy, the two servers, and everyone else that assisted were fantastic. Best filet mignon ever and the best sides and the best desserts I’ve ever had.

Do you want the best steak ever?!? You need to run over to Quality Bistro. Yes, there are several steak houses in New York but none with the amazing appetizers, desserts, and sides. I would remise if I left out the wonderful service starting with the lovely Shania which ensured we had the most perfect table, I really appreciated her kindness to make sure we were happy. The manager Veonica even made sure that we had everything to our liking. The main event, - the steak was cooked to perfection and so delicious. Of course we had to have the Porterhouse with some amazing fries. Did I mention the broccoli which was unbelievable- grilled - who would have known that it could taste sooo good. You need and must have the chocolate cake - insanely good - love the cherries and the malted ice cream. I forgot the bacon with the peanut better a match made in heaven. I will be coming back soon. Thanks for such a tasty and memorable meal!

Incredible food. Beautiful setting. Spot on service! A must. Would recommend to anyone. Don’t miss stopping here, you won’t be disappointed.

The start of the experience wasn’t great - we had to wait over 20 mins past our reservation time in a very warm, crowded and loud bar with no seating. Once seated the restaurant is exceptionally loud and overcrowded and you have to shout to have any kind of conversation. Whilst it’s lacking in customer service, atmosphere and time keeping, the food is good and the cocktails exceptional. It’s definitely overpriced for what it is but we enjoyed the food. Overall we left feeling full of good grub and drinks but all it’s other elements definitely let it down.

Great experience with my family and friends. From the first drink at the bar to the last bite of delicious dessert, the entire experience was fantastic! Our waiter, Jeff, was attentive but not overbearing. The steak was remarkable and well worth a 10:00 pm reservation. Lol.

The food was very good but the restaurant was a bit too noisy. They should improve on the desserts! the quality of the meat was excellent

I dine here a lot. Always, from the moment I walk in, to the time I leave, I am always made to feel right at home. I usually like to choose one of the bar tables because either one of the fantastic bartenders take good care of me...this time it was Nick. His service was friendly, knowledgeable and never intrusive. The food: this time I had the crab cake to start. The amount of blue crab in it is astounding. Simply delicious. My second course was the sirloin. Man, it was perfectly grilled to my requested temperature. I also paired it with a red that was suggested. No room for some of their delicious desserts! Until next time! Also, shoutout to bartenders Natasha and George!

Food lived up to my expectations. The bread was my favorite part because it was fresh, hot, and the butter was soft. I had the prime sirloin and my husband had the filet. Both cooked perfectly medium. The steak sauce they make at the table was good, but a little sweet for my taste. We got the spicy brussel sprouts (they aren’t actually spicy) which were delicious, a little sweet/tangy, and crispy without being burnt. We also had the cheese gnocchi as a side. It was good but like a fancy Mac n’ Cheese. I’d get potatoes next time. Service was great and quick. We had our steaks 8 mins after we ordered. My only complaints are that the tables for 2 are very close together with almost no room between them and it’s very noisy inside. Not a romantic spot but more of a good after work meal with colleagues.

Meet with our nephews and nieces living in New York for dinner with their partners Was a good night with excellent wine and very good portions. Not cheap but for a special occasion was worth it . Lots of people Tables very comfortable lots of room , birthday plate was gratis.

Celebrating our 22nd anniversary a few weeks early we dined at Quality Meats and to say that the food was sumptuous is an understatement. We started off with champagne for my wife and a dry vodka martini with three olives for me. Appetizers were the baked oysters and steak tartare. The oysters were very good, albeit a bit small. The tartare was excellent, one of the best I’ve eaten. We shared the tomahawk ribeye along with the spicy Brussels sprouts and Parmesan waffle fries and accompanied that with a lovely Duckhorn Cabernet. My only negatives would be that it is on the noisy side and lighting is quite dim (sorry for the dark photos) Definitely a must while in NYC

My rib eye steak was forgettable (dry, not tender). Add to that, a lady (at the entrance) with a serious attitude problem that would get her fired even in a 3rd rate eatery tucked away in a ghetto (my head did hit in their glass door at the entrance. His colleague asked if I was fine and she told her colleague to mind his own business). I am not kidding. It is not as if I knew her (I never saw her in my life, would never want to neither ...) and that we had a beef ( even if that was the case, that would still not be an excuse in a professional and respectable environment). When I complained to their high Management via email, I received no follow up...which left me with the impression that they have no problem with that.... It is a NO REPEAT for me. There are tons of classy restaurants in NYC deserving of my hard earned money. (visited on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at 5:00 pm)

We were really looking forward to dining here, but unfortunately, it turned out to be one of our worst experiences during our vacation. To start, the food was excellent. The appetizer, bacon with peanut butter, was fantastic—unique and delicious. The steak as the main course was also incredible—cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and a very generous portion. However, the experience was spoiled by the unbearably cold temperature in the restaurant. It was so chilly that we eventually had to put on our coats and ended up eating our meal while bundled up, feeling uncomfortable and distracted the entire time. At the end of our meal, we paid a bill of $400, but we couldn’t fully enjoy what could have been a memorable dining experience. The cold atmosphere took away from the enjoyment of the food, and we left feeling disappointed. It’s surprising how much the environment affects the overall dining experience.

We enjoyed an excellent dinner on a Saturday evening. Our server, Tamim, was wonderful and attentive. We started with the meatballs and the grilled bacon - both excellent. The bacon is such an unusual dish, would recommend it. For entrees the porterhouse and the filet were both delicious. Very good cuts of beef. The sides were all delicious- notably the gnocchi, creme brûlée corn, and the creamed potatoes. Desserts were awesome- grasshopper mint and Humor Me. All in all a wonderful meal in the city!

We had to wait about 15 mins for our table, even though we had a reservation at 8:45 p.m. There was a very loud group next to us, and fortunately they left during our appetizer course or else we'd have had to shout like they were just to hear ourselves. The meal was very good. My Dover Sole was a dream. Steaks looked fantastic. Sides were great--especially the corn brulee! My husband typically eats corn only if it's still on the cob, and I had to fight him for the brulee. The starter salad was enough for 4 people. I hate leaving that much food, and am not quite sure why a house salad needs to mound up on a 7-in bowl. Drinks were good, and service was efficient and not over-bearing. It's a loud restaurant, high energy, and probably lots of fun in a group. Expensive dinner, but quality.

...or maybe just dont order as much as we did. Some advice would have been helpful from the staff as to if we'd ordered too much but i guess its money to them at the end of the day. Overall a great meal, a little on the pricey side (but I found this to be the same all over NY). Staff were very friendly, and lots of them. We chose a sharer steak which was cooked as ordered, sides were plentiful. Did find the tables to be v close together

Excellent upscale restaurant with great service. Food is generally great, however my steak was medium well on the one end and rare at another, like it was grilled vertically (( Otherwise great experience

Amazing meat! I dont know what else to add :) Service was ok, not too rude :) A/c was too heavy and kept blowing in my face, changed two table but didnt help, the couple next to us had the same issue as kept changing tables Food was great.

The corn brûlée is a must try. Good quality food, but you pay for it. Great atmosphere and good service. Steaks are cooked well and good portions.

The meal was very good. We had so much food they gave us a box to go back to the hotel. The restaurant was a bit crowded but after a cocktail we managed to get to the table so we did not wait long.

Got one nice bar seat immediately without reservation. Barman very sympathie, order quickly served. What a amazingly good piece of Filet Mignon, perfectly cooked and the sautéed Spinach have nicely completed the plate. BUT the most amazing part came from the Black Sesame Sundae: homemade sesame ice-cream, I’ve never found anywhere else this . It was so tasty, with the right level of sesame and no annoying sugar to destroy the balance. You should absolutely try this one!

We wanted a restaurant close to our hotel. We booked last minute so had a early meal.5.15 .we were pleased to see even at that time the restaurant was busy.i explained my food issues and with a little negotiation the waiter dealt with the problem. Good atmosphere and good service. I actually chose the halibut which was excellent. We have booked again later in the week.

This is the best steak anyone will ever eat. It melts in your mouth and please try the homemade steak sauce! The whipped potatoes are so light and fluffy and the bacon and peanut butter is to die for.

A friend and I went to this steak restaurant as we had heard only good reviews. Upon walking in, the front of house woman(who looked miserable) pointed behind us and told us that is where to hang our coats up, after that she said go to the bar to get a drink, she did not tell us that someone would call us once our table was ready. The bar was incredibly busy and loud and you could only stand. After about quarter of an hour a waiter came up so us and directed us to our table. The steak was excellent and the side dishes were also fantastic (creme brulee corn.. yum) . Unfortunately we did not like the atmosphere and some of the staff were very unfriendly so we would not return.

Food and foods staff were amazing. Bar staff was rude and very insulting - for no reason. We ate downstairs which is our favorite area. Were a bit put off by the rats we saw in the vents above our table - but hey - it's NY! Food was excellent and priced well. After went up to the bar - 2 "ladies" were rude and just plain mean. One is from another country - she was just as bad as her darker co-worker.

We were treated to this meal by our daughter, who had eaten twice at Quality Meats in the previous 9 days! Our steaks did not disappoint - I think they probably surpassed any steak I have had before. Mine was the Hanger with black cherries - such an incredibly flavoured combo. My wife had a Tomahawk and the others, 28 day Matured Porterhouse. Apart from being the most expensive steak I have ever eaten (and sides are extra!) it is the tastiest - so much so that the cost became irrelevant.

Mindy was very rude. She overcharged me by $30 and didn't even apologise, then yelled at me and told my friends I yelled at her. The Maitre was nice and offered us drinks, but I never intend on going back! The food was Just ok.

We had dinner with the family. Service was attentive and friendly. As my daughter loved the bred we got another round… the steaks (all filet mignon) were perfectly cooked.

Quality Meats is certainly the best “steak house” in NYC. As a matter of fact, it may be the best steak house in the USA and perhaps even the world. The décor is cool and modern. Because it is lower than street level, you feel like you have transitioned into another world where noise, stress, and crowds are nonexistent. A plate of fresh rolls just out of the oven appears as you settle into your table. The menu is moderately limited to the dishes that should be part of a steakhouse menu. Cocktails are wonderful. And the steak… perfectly cooked to order. Service is perfect (sorry about all the perfects, it is just that the place is perfect!)– dishes disappear when their contents are finished, and new dishes appear when the next course is due.. Our wait person (Stacey Hollander sp?) may have a future in mental telepathy or using a crystal ball. For example, my wife and I celebrated our birthdays at the restaurant. As we finished dinner, magically, a suitable birthday dessert showed up. We didn't have to ask or even spend time reviewing the choices. You guessed it. It was exactly what we wanted. As usual, the choice was perfect. At Quality Meats, there are no long unexplained waits for ordering or delivery of food. There are no impolite service people who fit a stereotype of what service should not be like. You will love this restaurant. It is perfect. Stop, there is one problem I do see. In the olden days, there was an appetizer of New England clam chowder. It not only tasted of cream, clams and potatoes, it also had just a hint of bacon in the mix. I do miss it.

Food was ok but the utterly bad wine recommendation made this visit a disaster. Sommelier recommended a thin pinot noir with a steak. Total blunder.

I was here with a client I state that I know NY well and I go there often. Local in a great location, also very 'pleasant'. Small entrance bar but absolutely stocked. Excellent quality of meat, as well as delicious osta wines (but with imprinted mark-ups)X avoid side dishes. They eat, they're huge, loaded with butter and expensive

Wonderful staff. Wonderful atmosphere. Amazing food. It is very very pricey but you do get what you pay for. Very elegant.

Restaurant extremely noisy. Poor quality of service and meat. Very high prices. Recommendation, I did not like it.

Meat was truly excellent on all counts as was all the food. Service was excellent. Few problems with the wines and were quickly worked out. Excellent!

I came to this restaurant with my family, and it was a very pleasant experience. in addition to the amazing quality of the meat and the rest of the dishes on the menu, the staff is very nice and friendly, the atmosphere is cheerful and relaxing, and the place is very quaint. An unforgettable evening!!!

Horrible service, food cooked improperly and management did not give two flying you know the rest... not even worth writing the entire issues. Just know don't ever waste your time or money in that place... quality sides definitely not quality meats. Smh

Very good restaurant, especially the meat, the exceptional fillet, the ny meat however remained a little dry, their potatoes are very good.

Absolutely fantastic dinner. The meat was perfectly cooked. The burlee corn was absolutely out of this world. Started with jalapano peanut butter appy. A must have !!!!!!

Our last dinner here was in March 2013 for a 40th birthday. 10 years later we returned from Australia on the very same day to mark a 50th. It was every bit as good and indeed better than we recall it. First the space - it’s multi-level with plenty of interesting features and quirky spaces. But be prepared as it’s loud when full! Second - the menu is varied but exquisite - spoilt for choice with so many creative and tempting options. And the drinks list covers all palates with a price range to match. Importantly, it’s good value. And by no means least - the service was attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and warm. Our “special occasion” was respected and acknowledged with some lovely extras. So will we be here for the 60th….? Hopefully well before then!

The BEST Dover Sole, I've ever had! The Sauce was so good, I could've sipped it alone from the dish. The BEST Caesar Salad, I've ever had! Do NOT miss the CORN BRULEE' !! Creamy, like a cloud.

Overall, a positive experience it is a crowded and high volume restaurant. The service was very good and attentive across the board. The food was also delicious items of note where the bacon was extremely unique. The green guys salad was absolutely delicious. The steaks themselves were not exceptional. I do recommend recommended as a cool place to visit in New York if you are a classic steakhouse lover

Rainy miserable Tuesday evening found our reservation condemning us to an outdoor tented picnic table - which absent any heating - was deemed perfectly acceptable. The beauty though came with the faux bewildered look the staff gave us when we gave them a thanks but no thanks. The NY steakhouse market is simply too competitive for this nonchalance. Avoid.

Please help. Amazing space and service. However… When I order the 130 dollar porterhouse and it is cold …really cold. This is unacceptable. Also … several pieces were inedible due to the fat cartilage running through the piece of beef. Management … you need a better eye in the kitchen for cut and selection. There are a lot of steak houses in the city…. Please do better, a 120 dollar steak should be a perfect 10 … always. Such a let down.

QM was AMAZING! I took a client (party of five) here and we had an excellent experience. I don't know where to start, everything was so freaking good. The Corn Creme Brulee is awesome and the Tomahawk Rib Steak is one of the best I've ever eaten and I've eaten a lot of them. Definitely going back the next time I'm in NYC.

We went for our Christmas dinner with my children. They ordered steaks and the waiter made it appear when he was taking their orders that they had a "choice" of either the sauce or truffles..without telling them these are "additional" costs. My 14 year old was so upset and it ruined our dinner when we found out that she thought the waiter was just asking a choice-and she chose "truffles"..of course our bill doubled when it was given as the 3 of them chose that. Steak was ordinary and the place too noisy. We will definitely not go back. It ruined our dinner!

I came for dinner while visiting MYC. I was told it was a great restaurant. I ordered crabcake appetizer, Branzino sautéed spinach and waffle fries for the main entree and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The food was good in herbal but not great ( less than expected) . The atmosphere was crowded and the price for one person over $200 ( way too high for the quality of food). I left half the food from each part except the crab cake appetizer on the plate. I was hoping the food would taste better if I kept ordering but it really didn’t. I go to NYC each year for the US Open but I will not be coming back to this restaurant or suggesting it to others.

The food and service were both amazing. Th corn creme brûlée was an amazing side dish for a Manhattan steakhouse the pricing was not outrageous. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Mainly meat restaurant with also fish dishes. The quality is good but in our opinion the service needs to be improved. The place has lost some of its splendor...

Great place and stakes but they should increse dessert menu. If you are looking for fancy place to eat then this is it.

Thank for saving our day!! After facing the worst service imaginable at the restaurant across (Jams) we came here to have drinks and small bites to eat. The staff were so lovely and professional and truly turned around our day. The tartare was so yummyyy & the grilled bacon surprised me. The drinks were high quality & refreshing after a stressful day. We will be coming here instead of that other awful place. Thank you so much Quality Meats!!

I had gone here about 20 years ago and had remembered it fondly. We were pretty disappointed. Like a lot of Manhattan restaurants they had tight tables with a shared bench seating. It took 30 minutes from the time we sat down to have a server take our order for drinks. It as very busy and very loud on a Saturday night. It was difficult for my wife and I to have a conversation. There was a special appetizer, lobster toast, which was the star of the night. It was incredible. Salads were good but not exceptional. We both got the filet and were very disappointed. It tasted like a cut you would get from a regular supermarket or club store. Nothing special at all. For a NYC dining experience with a lot of options out there at $600+ for a couple you can do a lot better than here.

Quality Meats is a really Great Steakhouse destined to be a New York classic. Layout is terrific with Deco Bull's Head and use of meat worker's tools and implements as accent lamps. Menu is impressive with a nice mix of reasonably priced entrees as well as over-the-top selections like huge Tomahawk Ribeye Steaks. Enjoyed the steaks cooked to perfection. Had the Creme Brûlée Corn and it was a tasty hit. Extensive wine menu and enjoyed the California Cabernet Sauvignon / Quality Label - it meshed nicely with the meal. For starters we had the dreamy rolls with Caviar topping - delicious. Service was perfect with great attention to detail. Wonderful evening with great ambiance and a superb steak meal. We'll be back. You'll enjoy ! ! !

I was a little disappointed with this visit, the quality of the steak seemed average, service was quite slow and not very attentive and the volume of other diners was sometimes unpleasantly loud. This has always been a go to restaurant for us when visiting NYC, but after this visit I’m not sure I’d plan to return again.

Quality Meats is a great dinner choice if you want to be close to Central Park while not feeling like you’re in a touristy restaurant. The staff is friendly, attentive and accommodating. We enjoyed our meals and would recommend the filet, Caesar salad and bacon appetizer. The portions sizes are large which makes up for the price tags. The restaurant has indoor, outdoor and bar seating. It does get busy so you will need a reservation.

This is a fabulous place! Everything we had was so tasty and flavorful. The bacon with peanut butter and jalapeño jelly was phenomenal. The yorkshire creamed spinach was phenomenal. The creme brulee corn was phenomenal, and last but not least the hanger steak with branded cherries was also phenomenal and cooked perfectly. Our server, Ernie W, was as good a waiter as I've ever had anywhere. He described perfectly how each was prepared and if they were popular amongst the customers. The ambience is phenomenal also. Dimly lit but alive, just an awesome place. We will be back, for sure.

It's the best place in NYC to enjoy great meat. The price is high, but still in line with other steakhouses in Manhattan. The porterhouse is divine. The only flaw is the acoustics..

The food is EXTRAORDINARY. Very nice place and good service. A lot of variety besides obviously meats. Rich entrees and desserts. Good choice of drinks and excellent cava

We enjoyed our dinner at Quality Meats. We dined upstairs in a quiet spot - cool- great, attentive service. Our steaks were outstanding. Cooked to perfection. We will return. Prices were very reasonable

Steak heaven!! Not gonna lie, their food and service is amazing. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Will surely come back again.

Recent weekend evening visit for a "special dinner." Nicely furnished "casual chic" decor, with tables on several levels. Very professional staff, classic white vest-type jackets. All in all, the atmosphere was perfect. Food was just as good - especially the Rib-eye steak and Hangar steak. Sides were very good - sauteed spinach and the roast potatoes. Note that steaks were a bit on the high side, though not outrageous for an excellent NYC Steakhouse. (Sides were a-la-carte, and at $ 15 thought a bit pricey, though very good.) Mixed bar drinks and beer "NYC reasonable" in price. Wine list, though extensive, appeared to be super-expensive (limited bottles under $ 100.) Recommend a glass of several offered wines - $ 15 - $ 20 per glass (again "NYC reasonable" price.) For a real treat (or for those where money is routinely no object), it is well worth the visit. (My 25 year old son commented the Rib-eye was the best he had ever had.) Liked that waiter hand-prepared delicious steak sauce right at the table - not the usual "brown bottled kerosene" that most restaurants usually serve. Note limited choices for vegans (appetizer or salad.) Also, on a Saturday night, best to get there before 6:00 pm, place really filled up between that time and 7:30.

Good big steaks. Portions including sides are on large - we had the waffle fries and Brussels for two and that was plenty. No room for dessert.

I went there because of the excellent reviews but my steak was burnt, with a very bitter taste. They changed it and the 2nd one was in the same condition. For a $60 steak, this is unacceptable. I do not recommend it. The employees were service oriented.

Enjoyed our night so much. Fantastic steaks and sides. Great atmosphere. Pricey but I think worth it. Try it when you’re in NY.

We have eaten here several times and felt it was finally time for a review. Our first surprise was to find out that it is on the same exact site/address as the former Manhattan Ocean Club, which has been managed by my wife’s brother..but the surprises didn’t end there! We found our new favorite NYC steakhouse! On our first visit we enjoyed a few glasses of the superb house red wine, shared the porterhouse for two ( which was some of the best steak either of us have ever enjoyed), and shared the Crispy potatoes ( don’t miss those) and a generous amount of creamed spinach served in its own bread bowl! The BEST steakhouse experience of our lives and we’ve back several times since! Is it expensive? Yes..but it’s WORTH it! Not many steakhouses can make that claim!

We dined at Quality Meats on Christmas Eve and had an outstanding experience. The food was terrific. In particular, we loved the dry-aged prime sirloin, the filet mignon, and the caesar salad. The sides and desserts were great as well. Plus, the martinis. We also thought the service was wonderful. We felt so welcome by the lovely woman who greeted and seated us. Our server was phenomenal. We highly recommend this restaurant for a special evening in Manhattan!

You would think the homeless man that greets you upon arrival would be enough to put you off...the flank steak was no better. The space was noisy, with very cramped seating and not a very pleasant atmosphere. Mac and cheese side was very good as the green goddess salad....but folks it’s a salad....so how hard can it be? I think there are plenty of other steak joints that you can dine in where the experience would be far more pleasant....a few lights might add also? All the guests using their cell phones to read the menu,,.??? Yikes,,.

Excellent Steak. The food at Quality Meats is very good. The Steak was one of the best I ever had. The side dishes are very good too. Good selection of wines and very good service. Make sure you have a reservation. I also like the design/style of the restaurant. Every time I am in New York I go there at least once.

Well…where do I start. $673 dollars later with my son and daughter for a nice meal, and we did not enjoy the service or the food. An incredible bummer. Love, love, love Auality Eats. Went to the Beacon to enjoy a show and wanted a great steak to end the night. We have our favorites in our neighborhood and branched our. Was incredibly disappointed. Our server was very disinterested in our table, never once asked how the meal was. The Busboy was definitely the highlight! Took our drink orders and even dessert order. Ensured we were happy. Would have loved to ensure he got the majority of the tip vs. our server. The kicker was the bag they brought our leftovers in, had the most disgusting smell. Worse than any outhouse. Something definitely wrong. And worse yet, our server recommended all of the bad dishes! Do not get… Crab cake - way too mushy and too much filler Crab and Avocado - tasted like crushed orange sucker. Simplicity was not in mind when creating this dish Filet/Steak - tough, poorly cut and terribly ruined. Again, simplicity is key Table truffle butter - not worth it Spicy Brussel sprouts - more sweet than spice. Sad actually Chopped Salad Caesar Salad If you have to… Gnocchi and cheese - good Corn Crème Brûlée Lobster toast with truffles, good…not great. Ours was over cooked Mint ice cream So many great places to eat, do not waste your dollar here

While looking for a good steak in New York, we came across this restaurant with excellent reviews which, intrigued, we decided to try. Very friendly staff, well looked after place. Little to comment on the meat, excellent quality and melted in the mouth, perfectly cooked and exquisite seasoning. Medium-high prices, but completely justified both for the location and for the quality of the product offered. Definitely recommended

Great service, great food and a great experience. Almost 10 years since my last visit, and in a good way, much has stayed the same. Excellent appetisers and steaks, with all the trimmings, all washed down with a solid Italian red wine. What’s not to like!? Sure it’s not a cheap night out, but if you’re travelling to NYC it’s an authentic and thoroughly enjoyable way to spend your $$ and your evening.

The steak was perfect. The music was not right for enjoying a nice dinner. I will not recommend this place.

Great Food and Experience. Very corporate ambience. Fantastic service. Had many appetizers and no main courses. Would highly recommend.

If you want top-notch old school steak house in the modern setting this is the place for you. They are really serious about delivering the best possible service. I was surprised that every bad review on open table was responded by management with constructive questions on how they can improve and it really shows. The food is excellent! I loved their lobster toast, corn cream Brule and gnocchi. And of course the meat selection, I have ordered 28 days aged t-bone porterhouse steak that was melting in the mouth. And if you still have strength for dessert their coconut pie was a killer! I was really risking of blowing off but can't help myself to finish that cake to the last bits. The only complaint that I have that in my to go box they forgot to put their steak sauce, which by the way, they prepare right in front of you. The place isn't cheap, but worth every penny.

We arrive at this trendy new steakhouse driven by positive advice and reviews and that position it in a high-end segment in NYC, on the same level as Keens, Gallagher’s and Peter Luger. Friendly welcome, the place is very nice. Once seated, we immediately ask for the change of table because the air conditioning was strong enough. We order: Good meatballs, great truffle butter... but to disappoint us, unfortunately, is the NY Stripe Steak: Hard meat and overcooked (despite having asked for medium-rare cooking). Not a good thing that a lot of blood was dripping. We didn't ask for a meat change, we didn't want any trouble. Insignificant asparagus, good creamy spinach, normal potatoes. Scary refills on wine that would make us Italians smile. Very hasty staff, forced smiles, excessive desire to send us home (maybe because it was Superbowl night). We will not be back, there is definitely better for over $100 per person.
Expensive but worth it
Great steakhouse very close to Central Park, already the location makes it clear that the place is quite exclusive. Despite the reservation, we waited almost 30 minutes and perhaps the thing was intended to entice you to consume at the bar. The dinner, however, was excellent, a tender ribeye, juicy and delicious, even those who took the fillet was very happy. Very nice service as always in Manhattan, expensive bill but worth it
