I loved my pork ramen here. Their menu offers a bunch of ramen soups, dumplings, noodle dishes, and more. Note that they only take cash. Friendly and brisk service. Right across from the comedy cellar village underground in Greenwich Village.

I am from Japan and I can say that this restaurant has an authentic RAMEN! Especially the marinated eggs... that was so tasty....

My friends and I went here on a Saturday night, so it was pretty busy, but we thankfully got in before the rush of people and did not have to wait in line for very long. It's a small place but absolutely worth it. I've had ramen before in San Francisco and did not really like it, but Ramen Ya really changed my view on ramen! I got the chicken Shio Black and it was delicious! It had the thicker noodles and I liked them a bit more than my friend's noodles, which were the thinner kind. Overall, worth the price and the walk!

A sign in the entrance mentions an award in 2015 and 2016. Rightly so!! I ordered the Yasai Creamy Veg Ramen with the Kale Noodles...which was a good portion, hot, really tasty and spicy...just scrumptious!! The service really nice and friendly! I ll come back...Thanks!

Nice clean location, well made Ramen with good noodles. I also enjoyed the spicy miso broth. Had a sip of the regular miso and wasn’t as impressed. But a good choice if you want a quiet clean place to chat or do business.

Absolutely loved the ramen! Very less options for vegetarians! Hot piping food straight from the kitchen! Full at most times!would love to visit again

I'm kinda baffled to read many good reviews here, maybe I was unlucky... anyway, here's my experience: NYC, very hot day; still I want ramen. There's a sign outside this place that I had already noticed; it says "cold ramen"... that's perfect, I think, and the B grade from the sanitary inspection doesn't stop me. I will regret that 10 minutes later. I order cold ramen, which I'll find out that's not cold at all. The noodles (box/can quality) are hot, the broth is hot too, and the flavour is merely bad. It tastes more chinese than rameny... low quality chinese. I think to be able to recognize good ramen, and this wasn't. As a conclusion, that night I spent about 20 minutes extra in the bathroom... but that's a story I don't wanna tell.

This ramen location has a wide selection of ramen and rice bowl dishes, dumplings, and other sides. Went on a Friday night and was happy that there was no wait, unlike many other restaurants at this time. My party had delicious meat and curry dishes, vegetable dumplings, and ramen. Surprisingly large portions of breaded chicken with curry and rice for the price! Had leftovers I am looking forward to.

Ramen-Ya stays true to the cuisine when it comes to real ramen. The ideal blend of spicy, salty, and sweet.

The waitress was extremely rude. The food was good but the service sub par. When closing the waitress felt the need to lecture me about how to tip! I am sure this would not happen had I not been a black woman. I am disgusted. Please educate your staff. If there was no stars, that would be my option.

I eat a lot of ramen... this place just doesn't compare to other establishments in NYC it simply doesn't. I think it stays open because it has an awesome location. But the tonkotsu ramen wasn't very flavorful and the noodles were so under cooked... the broth was okay and the dumplings were okay but thats about it. Also its cash only and doesn't have an atm inside nor do the employees know where the closest atm is. If you're going to be cash only you should know that stuff. Just go to a better ramen place such as : ichiran, nishida sho ten, heck even ippudo which i dont even like.

Shio black ramen is recommended! very tasty and you will want more, can add more noodle(ramen) if you arent enough. OR get the combo which you can pick a rice bowl. I had the beef bowl and it's great. The 2 shop location of Ramen-Ya is around the corner of each other, the new location usually much less people (for now) and taste as great as the original location.

The service was quick and friendly, and best of all the food was fantastic! Everything tasted handmade, from the dumplings to the ramen; and the portions were large. Definitely recommend ordering a few different items and sharing.

The place is clean, cozy, and bigger than most hole-in-the-wall ramen joints in Manhattan. We visited on the evening of Super Bowl, when most people are glued to their TVs at home, so the place was not particularly busy. The food was flavorful and filling, and was to our utter satisfaction. Prices are reasonable. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!

Line will probably be long. It goes fast, take a brisk stroll around the block after you put your name on the list. This was really good!!! We are vegetarians and just really loves the noodle soup. Light and filling. Cash only.

Enjoyed a lovely late dinner in this small and welcoming Ramen place. Good gyoza for starter and then a lovely spicy Ramen. Highly recommended. The service was kind and quick as well.

Maybe it's because it was cold but this was the best ramen ever- we all got either vegetarian miso and pork with think noodles. Get the extra garlic as it was awesome. Tiny little place but really good food, quick service and lots of noodle dishes to choose from. Next time I have try the kale noodles or the tofu noodles. Great to slurp down on a cold day- bring cash!

Go figure that there are 2 places names Ramen-ya within a few blocks of each other. “Ya” means “restaurant” in Japanese so neither scores points for originality (and the full word is generic for Ramen Place in Japanese). Both are good, this one was more of a variety though the noodles aren’t quite as good. They do have a nice “chu-ka” (cold ramen) selection which is great for the summer. It’s half a block away from the West 4th Street station so you can’t get more convenient. Staff is friendly and responsive. Decor is dark but comfortable and modern.

And it was very good. Not rating it excellent because I don't know what excellent ramen is. Definitely worth it though on a cold rainy night.

Ramen ya has 2 restaurants now, last visit we were staying above their W4th st one and went numerous times, this visit we are closer to the W3rd st new restaurant and tried it out on our first night in NY, the food was good, the service was fast and the bill was reasonable, can't ask for more. There was a special on where you had to take a photo and tag the restaurant but as we didn't have service on our phones and they didn't have free wifi we couldn't participate which was the only negative.

The service was good, the atmosphere great, the food was just good, not exceptional or anything that stands out from the norm. The space is clean and well maintained. It’s a cash only place so come prepared. Overall we enjoyed our lunch but here in Greenwich Village, we probably won’t be back.

We had heard that Ramen-Ya is a great place to feast on some authentic Ramen. Since I lived in Japan for two year, I am a bit picky when it comes to Japanese food. I must say that Ramen-Ya did not disappoint! When you first walk into this tiny little Ramen shop, it feels a little run down. I was a bit skeptical upon arrival but decided to stick it out and see if their Ramen was as good as we had heard. We ordered chicken gyoza and Musashi (Ramen with soy sauce broth). It was delicious and very authentic! I would highly recommend this place if you are in the mood for a bowl of yummy and authentic Ramen. Note: This is a CASH ONLY establishment.

I went to Ramen-Ya earlier this evening expecting your average bowl of ramen. Though that would have sufficed, Ramen-Ya was much better than my expectations to say the least. The moment that I entered the restaurant, I was warmly welcomed by the a group of staff members, seemingly awaiting my arrival. I was immediately seated with a cold cup of water and a menu. After looking through the menu, I found it hard to choose one thing to get! The food came very soon after I ordered, but not at the expense of the food's quality! The miso soup was not packet made and the ramen was a perfect combination of toppings and broth. After finishing my ramen, I felt quite satisfied with my meal and made sure to thank my waiters profusely. Upon my departure, I was uproariously thanked. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the mood for great customer service and a splendid bowl of ramen!

Firstly, as a warning, they only accept cash, which would normally make it a place for me to avoid. The food is good and the staff relatively friendly. I had to ask for more water, as the waiter doesn't really check, but I suppose that's expected in a restaurant like this. The portions are big, very filling and tasty. I had the Spicy Miso with pork and it was really nice. It's not incredibly spicy which was a big plus for me.

Ramen-Ya is a very small restaurant but they pack a punch of flavor with every spoonful of their ramen! Cash only!!

I usually stop here after watching a show next door at Blue Note Jazz Club and almost always order my favorites: Shio Black Ramen and pork dumplings. Late night meal at its best. It's cash only transaction but service is fast and efficient, affordable (for NY standard anyway), and the food is consistently delicous. One of my favorite hole in a wall restaurants in NYC.

I was visiting NYC for a couple of weeks and in the search of a good ramen. Bumped into Ramen-Ya on my first few days, and the ramen was so good, I had to come back for more! Both pork and chicken broth were excellent!
Delicious soup broth noodles
It’s a small place with a small beer selection, but has big flavour and a big selection of noodles and soups and Asian foods to choose from. The pan-fried dumplings we started with were a bit better than I have had at other places — these were nicely fried but still with very nice think wraps.
