New York Pizza

By Les Berger's |

The pizza you shouldn’t miss during a trip to New York. The waitress we had was exceptionally professional and friendly. (She speaks French as a bonus) Nice setting, good service, fair price, we had a very pleasant time. Thanks to Ribalta

Amazing experience! Great food, amazing restaurant

By Jacopo D |

Spent there a night with friends. Highly recommended! Amazing atmosphere, friendly service, good prices. Can’t wait to come back.

Good pizza in a typical Italian restaurant

By Régis1972 |

A very good Italian restaurant where waiters speak Italian with a nice setting. It's worth a visit. We opted for pizzas that were very good at a decent Award for New York namely $21 (tax excluded). We were delighted with our meal and enjoyed this moment in this restaurant restaurant. I recommend it to you.

Always the best Italian pizza in New York

By Michele S. |

Ribalta confirms itself as the ideal place to eat a real Italian pizza in the heart of Manhattan or many other Italian specialties Pleasant and informal environment, young and attentive staff, it is advisable to book (even directly from the restaurant's website) Average prices for New York but well related to the quality

Come back to Ribalta after 2 years

By Zamarch |

In this hard time when all the world is still fighting against Covid, I was very lucky to reach NYC for my business and to spend my lunch time in a special Italian restaurant. Ribalta friends I missed you so much. Excellent pizza as usual. Special thanks to a couple of young waiters coming from Palermo. Good luck guys and I hope your dreams come true soon.

Great pizza

By Annie B |

Pizza Marghrita is definitely worth a visit. I ask for olives and a little more basil and it is delicious. The crust is soggy like all Neopolitan pizzas so that takes some getting used to but now that I am, I love this pizza. Great price. Other places charge more for not as good pizza. Easy to run in for lunch when in the area. Probably best to make a reservation for dinner or large parties. Definityly will not be disappointed if you want Neopolitan pizza. I have never tried anything else here but I seldom eat Italian outside of my home except pizza.

una fregatura completa

By Shelley-EY |

food was mediocre, cherry tomatoes were chopped regular tomatoes, poor service, serving many other tables who ordered after us, at the end saying the credit card service wasn't working and asking to leave our card number and signature!!!! (unheard of in this age of identity theft, etc.) also, they could have announced that to patrons before the meal so we would have had the choice to leave if we were to pay cash

Family leisurely outings

By Supriya A |

Centrally located. Service is a bit slow on busy afternoons . A big bar at the entrance . Superb wines . Located near the main christmas market . Many veg options . Good for a slow leisurely family outings . open kitchens .Star chefs . stone ovens .Reminded us of Italy where we travel often. as usual in star restaurants, condiments are not given by default . pepper salt olive oil needs to be asked. The idea being the original dish taste should be good enough to satisfy your palatte.

The best pizza in NY

By serendipity |

Exceptional!! Very welcoming place, we ordered a bruschetta with burrata and 4 pizzas... the quality of the ingredients and the pizza dough are excellent! A real Italian pizza in New York! Highly recommended!!

Gluten free pizza!

By MDNied |

A great little Italian restaurant. Hard to find with heavy construction going on. Gluten free pizza that is excellent. Great service and staff. Extensive menu.

Pizza

During my Trips to New York I have always been eating pizza at the Turn it over! Pizza margherita $20! The venue is located near Union Square. Suggested

Delightful

By els284 |

Came late on a Tuesday night but the restaurant was still quite busy. We ordered pesto gnocchi and the pomodoro spaghetti, and both were absolutely delicious. I actually visited Italy earlier in the year and this food was on par (if not better) than much of the food I had in Italy! The pasta had that perfect bite, and the portion size was just right. The wait staff were very attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. Even the starting bread was so tasty. We hope to eat here again this week!

Super creative menu and great pizzas in downtown Manhattan!

By Luce Biscardi |

Excellent pizzeria near Union Square, which we chose based on the suggestions of 50 Top Pizza. Very creative menu, we shared a margherita, a truffle pizza and an incredible one with purple potatoes, pesto and crunchy ham. Very good! Normal prices for New York (about $60 each including tip, tax, 1.5 pizza and dessert each), and a very nice atmosphere especially when you're feeling homesick. Special mention to Rossella: very nice and very helpful. Good luck guys, what a great reality!

Ottimo spaghettone al pomodoro

By Ciro C |

Ribalta is a true gem in New York City, offering an exceptional dining experience. Perfectly situated in a prime location, the restaurant is both welcoming and stylish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a staff that is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. But the highlight of Ribalta is undoubtedly its food, and in particular, the spaghettone al pomodoro. It's no exaggeration to say that it’s the best you’ll find in New York. The pasta is perfectly al dente, the sauce rich and flavorful, and the dish captures the essence of authentic Italian cuisine. Ribalta is a must-visit for anyone looking for an unforgettable meal in the city.

NON MALE

By Alessio_Tiberio |

Pizzeria behind Union Square. Pizzas of clear Neapolitan inspiration and, to be in New York, I must say more than appreciable (obviously the difference is felt but not excessively). On some evenings there is also fun with singing and dancing. Staff a bit 'detached but still helpful.

Great pizza

By Famw4kids |

We got two pizzas, personal sized one that was cooked in the wood oven, and it was good. The second pizza which costs a lot more but is 18” is cooked in an electric oven. It had a crispier, lighter crust which was excellent. Some of the best pizza I have had in nyc. Two kids ordered chicken parmesan and the portion was smaller than what they are used to. It didn’t come with pasta like in other restaurants. They said it was good. We had made reservations last minute in the patio. It was like being in a sauna, very hot and humid. Just be prepared to have a leisurely dinner where you aren’t rushed to leave. Waiter service started out good but became non existent . I had asked for pepper twice and had to go into back of restaurant myself where pizza is cooked to request it again. A waiter insisted on walking back to table with pepper with me. As for getting the bill, we had to ask 3-4 times to different people (waiters, hostesses). As long as you are not in a hurry, I would recommend coming here. Maybe inside would have a different service experience

Chewy gluten free crust on yummy pizza

By Ronne C |

Their gluten free pizza crust is delicious- almost as chewy as regular crust and also nice and thin. There aren’t a lot of other gf offerings but other diners will enjoy the meatballs, chicken cutlet, grilled octopus, salumeria platter and clam pasta. Reservations are a good idea but we pop in often around 5 and have no trouble eating early. Friendly and welcoming service.

Great pizza and top reception!

By Fabrizio m |

Family trip to NY. There were 4 of us and they made us sit even without reservation. Ordered 4 pizzas. A nice surprise. Delicious Neapolitan pizza with first-rate ingredients. Congratulations also to the young manager of the restaurant, Italian. He entertained with us for a pleasant post-dinner chat. Fair price considering the standard in NY. Good!

Neapolitans? hand...

By Annamaria L |

Recommended by a dear Neapolitan friend like me, we discover that we are neighbors. I ask for a seat, they give it to me because the air conditioning broke, leaving the place empty. Burnt pizza, with Peroni beer, tiramisu 70 dollars. With all the taxes, without even a discount for the pizza that I didn't change. I don't recommend it due to the price and questionable reception.

Horrible hostess-poor customer service

By Innerhousewife |

We stopped here on a Thursday evening around 7pm and checked in with the hostess. When we told her we didn't have reservations, she said no problem, give her 5 minutes and she would seat us. 15 minutes later, she came back and asked who we were, and "I didn't talk to you, did I? Oops." She had completely forgotten about us. (We were 8 feet from her.) She then offered to put us on a waiting list that would be "45 minutes-or you can make reservations for 8:30.) We chose the shorter wait time of 45 minutes, which she said they would text us for. After an hour I went inside to get an update and was told by a different host that we should be the next table. After watching 3 tables leave and no notification that our table was ready-we left and went to the torta restaurant around the corner and had an outstanding meal. Oh-and we STILL haven't gotten the text that our table is ready..

Awesome pizza, like a trip to Italy in NYC

By dale_river |

My husband wanted pizza for his birthday, and so we came to Ribalta. It's a fun, casual, stylish spot in the heart of the Village with authentic Italian food. We had the yummy meatballs to start, and then shared an enormous pizza with porcini mushrooms and pancetta. So good! Nice bottle of Tuscan red to wash it down. Our waitress was from Italy (near Rome) and was very sweet. This was my third time here and I can't to go back and sample some more dishes...

great pizza

By laurenkesper22 |

One of the best pizza in Nyc, highly recommended! Staff supernice and service as well. I'll back for sure! Ask for Mario the gm, very kind and professional

Dinner with Giuseppe

By Arbi D |

Fantastic dinner, with friends accompanied by the sympathy of Giuseppe, our waiter, who advised us in an excellent way and made us spend a fantastic evening! I highly recommend the pizzas that we found surprisingly good and the cheese and pepper... it looked like Rome! Overall great experience, highly recommend!

Very good Italian pizza near Union Square

By GIONIAonTour |

Very good and very Italian pizza. The staff, practically completely Italian, is really friendly. The pizza was really good, with fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. Definitely a yes!

A corner of Naples in the heart of New York

By Carlo |

Being in New York and feeling at home, in Naples 🇮🇹 Ribalta is pure Italianness: spectacular pizza, divine cuisine and an overwhelming atmosphere. The appetizers are delicious, especially the fried squid, octopus and zucchini alla scapece. Cocktails and desserts are also delicious, really exceptional! Evenings with DJ and saxophonist turn dinner into a real party. Rosario, the owner, is very kind and the staff, almost all Italian, is professional and super welcoming. A unique place in New York: I will definitely come back and bring more friends❣️🔝🇮🇹🍕🍝

Professionalism, quality of real Italian products.

By Expedition813530 |

Almost better than in Italy. Excellent first courses, pizzas and desserts. Food cooked with Italian products, like at home. To return.

patio to avoid

By csara☆ |

I ate with my family here in mid November. The place is very nice and extremely dynamic and young (it was very full and it wasn't a weekend). Unfortunately we only found a place on the patio. We booked for 5 but the table was for 4 and placing 5 plates and glasses was a challenge! the doors were open, it wasn't heated or even welcoming. Luckily we arrived on a warm evening. If I had known, I would have avoided booking. The pizza was very rich for my tastes, none of us managed to finish a buffalo margherita and considering that I love eating it it's decidedly strange. Fast service. I don't plan on going back on my next trip to NY.

Nothing to write home about

By maida22 |

Maybe we were the wrong demographic. The place was buzzing with 30 something professionals, groups and couples. The place is currently shrouded in scaffolding but the welcome was friendly. What hits you is the noise. It’s a cavernous space with an industrial feel. Food came quickly but we were underwhelmed by the giant pizzas. Very doughy but a huge choice. The avocado salad was very tasty. A very well managed place; our waiter forgot a wine order, the mistake was sorted but the manager knocked $10 off the bill which was a kind gesture.

Ribalta ? Anytime !

By p m |

My daughter took me to Ribalta on my recent visit to New York City. And what a wonderful experience. Loved the ambience and more so the food. Their truffle pizza makes me want to take the next flight back to nyc. Excellent pastas. And very casual easy ambience making us feel so comfortable to enjoy the good food while having nice conversations with friends and family. Ticks all the boxes 👍🏼

Great pizza in East Village area!

By Eric D |

Very good pizza. Spicy oils on the pizza are different, but very good! This place has a legit in-store meat operation. Definitely did not appear like they are serving anything that is pre-prepared!

Avoid the you would the plague.

By mark |

Calling this mediocre would be generous. The most overrated pizzeria on planet earth. After 2 failed attempts at getting the ingredients right they served something I wouldn't pay 5 bucks for.

There's a reason their on-line menu doesn't have prices on it.

By Jon |

Food and service were ok. But the prices are exorbitant for small pizzas. I am not coming back. Nice outdoor area was not open even though weather was quite pleasant.

Great food and great service!

By puggi98 |

We had reservations for lunch and were seated immediately. The service was great and they had Wi-Fi that worked well. The food was phenomenal! I recommend going out of your way for this one!

Top Neapolitan cuisine

By Rosa I |

Place up to expectations. Very friendly staff and high quality food and workmanship. Prices in line with the quality of the products

Topnotch!

By TravelingTim57 |

We were enjoying a day out in city just walking around the Union Square area and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch. I Googled...best pizza near me and Ribalta was one of the options. Let me tell you, the pizza was spectacular! Not only was the food good but it's a really nice place. Our server, Noemi, was lovely. Kudos to Ribalta for getting everything right! We'll be back and I'll be singing their praises to all my friends.

nice dinner

By Guilherme L |

We had an excellent burrata, a very good gnocchi alla sorrentina, a tasteful cavatelli alle melanzane and a really good tiramisu. The place is a little bit noisy, but it didn't bother me.

Florens in NYC

By Ola H |

This is Italy! 100%! Great pizza, wine and ambience. The Italian cup final with lots of Fiorentina fans cheering made it Into a experience as if we were in Florens, great!

Very good pizza!!!

By fil51 |

A real Italian restaurant with good quality food and fair prices for NY Italian staff and very good pizza

It was good

By arubalad |

We were a party of 3, All of us really enjoyed our meals. One had a gluten free pizza, thin crusted and she raved about it. The rest of us had 3 course meals It seemed that everything was freshly prepared. I followed the waiters reccomendation on what to order. Service was excellent and the food as good as I could want. Would highly recommend dinning here

Still the best!!!

By TravelingTim57 |

Folks, If you're in the Union Square area and you're hungry...do yourself a favor and stop by Ribalta. I take the subway in from Queens to have the best pizza around. They also have fantastic appetizers, salads, pastas, etc. I'd like to recommend the roasted brussels sprouts with pancetta and pecorini romano...fantastic starter. Not only is the food outstanding, so is the staff. We were lucky to have the lovely Anna, from Milan, as our server. I'll be back again soon!

Best service!!!

By Naomie C |

Best customer service I have seen!!! We called 10 minutes before arriving to see if they had space and they gave us a table outside. We were on a school trip and only had 35 minutes to eat. Although the restaurant was packed, they served us within 15 minutes. The waiters constantly came to us to warn us of the expected time and they placed our meal before everyone else's so that we arrived on time. My friend is gluten intolerant and they had a really good pizza crust. Atmosphere, service, kindness, food, pizza: it's perfection!!! I recommend!!

Very Nice Italian Food

By Rodolfo D |

We ended up at Ribalta because the night before I had had an indigestion, maybe due to the excessive quantity of delicious foods, belonging to different culinary traditions of the world, tasted in Manhattan. In order to make me eat a little light, my brother took me to Ribalta. He and my fiancé ate pizza. I chose a healthy plate of spaghetti, with tomato sauce. Pasta was “al dente”. The tomato sauce was excellent. The pizzas looked beautiful. My fiancé, a skilled Sicilian chef and pizza connoisseur, was very satisfied. According to her, Ribalta's pizza is like the best Neapolitan pizzerias in Italy. Excellent service. The restaurant is very pleasant. Highly recommended

Gluten Free Pizza

By clareboucher |

Ribalta is a great, lively restaurant with very helpful staff. As someone with celiac disease and highly allergic to gluten, it was a little hard to get my pizza ordered, and the italian sausage was not gluten free, and either were the green peppers. I did get a pizza though which was super nice - but unfortunately not 100% gluten free as I was quite sick for the hours following my visit to Ribalta. I think cross-contamination must be quite a big issue in this restaurant, so if someone was allergens I'd recommend triple checking the food before you eat it. My friends visited with me and they are not gluten free and loved their pizzas.

Delicious pizza!

By marield1990 |

Came here on a Friday around 5. Got seated right away. I built my own pizza with Italian Sausage, pepperoni and black olives. It was delicious. Our pizzas came out super fast. We didn’t even have our drinks yet! Nice amount of bathrooms. Only negative was that there were a lot of different staff helping so our waiter came over right as we had sat down, it took a while for someone to bring the check and then take it and the drinks took a bit long to come out. Other than that the restaurant is very nice, everyone was friendly and pizza was great!

No friendliness

By Angy1986 |

We went to this pizzeria last night and had requested a table for our wedding anniversary. They seated us in the middle of a crowd, the tip was already included in the bill and there was no way to adjust it, and the staff was downright rude. The food was average at best, definitely not worth the price or the ‘attitude’ from the staff. The meat in the ragù was full of fatty pieces that I had to remove myself. Not recommended!

Exceptional

By skalb2018 |

Probably the best pizza in the United States We felt like we had returned to Italy. The pizza was authentic, perfectly cooked and created with the finest ingredients. Our appetizer was likewise perfect and the espresso was one of the best I have had in New York.

Nice Vibe

By Donna |

We really enjoyed Ribalta Pizza. Our friends ordered pizza and it was great. I had Caprese and Rughetta Salad which we’re both very good. My husband tried the Baby Octopus and wasn’t a fan. He said it was very tough and rubbery. But our overall experience was very good.

Good pizzeria for Italians in New York

By Manu s |

Very good pizza, touristy but attractive location, very friendly, nice and beautiful waitresses.

Fantastic pizza

By 421Traveler_123 |

We came here to celebrate a birthday and absolutely loved the fare, which included some of the best pizza we have had outside of Campania. We also ordered the pesto pasta, bruschetta and caprese salad, which were all superb. The service was attentive and there were options for vegans and vegetarians in our party. Heartily recommend!

Great pizza

By Martin B |

Friendly and professional service and very good food all in a nice and reasonably upmarket setting. The pizzas are really good, not cheap but this isn't a no frills pizza joint so quite reasonable. Quite a busy and popular place so better to book ahead to guarantee a table but we didn't and were seated quite quickly.

Gluten Free Pizza near Union Square

By pampenny |

We ate pizza here today. I had the gluten free Margarita and my husband a regular pizza. This was possibly the best GF pizza I have ever had. Would recommend.

Neapolitan Pizza in NYC

By Andrea S |

very informal but nice and clean ; very kind staff, speaking Italian; true Neapolitan Italian pizza according to the best tradition ; fast and attentive service

New NYC go-to!!

By Nichole S |

Great experience, amazing food! We found this place on OpenTable and looked up videos on TikTok. It looked interesting so we decided to give it a try. It didn’t disappoint. Lots of menu options in addition to pizza. We had a party of 5 and we all really enjoyed our food. The service and atmosphere were both exceptional. Definitely a new NYC favorite.

Good food And service

By Maria S |

This place was packed even on a weekday. My daughter had eaten here. She ordered Parma and the porcini pizza . Also added the arugula salad . The meal was amazing and it didn’t take long for the food to be ready. Great place, food and service, to think our waiter was busy and another waiter accommodated us, the girl who sat us said that this guy was always ready to help when things were busy. This is the place to visit for real pizza.

Good, good, good!!!

By Flaminia |

Very good pizza, with a nice location and waiters are really friendly. The service is fast and it’s a place where you can go with family and friends

Great drop in pizza, Italian options.

By jeffkr2017 |

Great drop in place, reservations via OpenTable recommended. Loud when full, or when there is an Italian soccer game on the big screen. During winter AVOID the tables by the front door as you’ll freeze. Great service, heavy on pizza options which were terrific. Calamari was awesome.

The best pizza in NYC

By Renga72 |

I have known this pizzeria for a few years, when I am in NYC it is a must! This weekend I was there with my family for the first time and the judgment was clear: “to eat a super pizza we have to come to New York”! Don't miss it.

Best pizza EVER

By Danny V |

This is one of the best Italian restaurant I had been outside Italy to date. They definitely had the best pizza a ever had. The service is perfect, the decor is authentic and beautiful and the food was a masterpiece. All this for a price way below expectations. We will definitely go back when in town.

Simply the best pizza in Manhattan!!

By Mirko A |

Simply the best pizza in Manhattan!! But they have also very good starters, and desserts are fabulous, especially Babamisud!! To be clear, I’m Italian 😁👍🏻

Wonderful pizza!!

By Marco B |

Not even in Naples I’ve eaten such a pizza. A must in New York. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy the mesmerizing bruschetta di burrata and frutti di mare. The service was amazing and we will definitely back.

The Babasimu is amazing

By Liatema M |

The Babasimu is amazing 647519544 Went there on following a pizza joint hunt using suggestions from this article about of pizza joint around New York. The quality and texture of the pizza is unique, i guess it has to do with the natural yeast they use. the service can be slow at times though

Italian food

By baxterrich |

Amazing food. Egg plant amazing as a starter the personal artichoke, mushroom, olive pizza enough to share. Also super cute and clean white interior. Highly recommend this gem.

Excellent pizza and pasta

By Peter S |

Excellent pizza and pasta Great atmosphere You must book 100% otherwise you will be disappointed Great staff who are very attentive Only negative was the bill ! It totalled $90 so I gave a $20 tip only to check the bill when I left and they added the tip already totally $126! Bit naughty although maybe I should check the bill more thoroughly

Our pizza place next door

By Helene V |

Luckily I live just across the street from Ribalta so I go there often. I have never been disappointed. Except for the level of noise (which can be high) ! But the pizzas are excellent. Oven-baked, thin crusted with a wide variety of ingredients. I particularly enjoy the vegetarian. I have also sampled their salads which are a great accompaniment. Ribalta offers a wide variety of good Italian wines. Last but not least the hostess at the bar is the nicest person. She even gave us the address of a fabulous restaurant in Rome and made the reservations for us. A true Italian place in our neighborhood.

Could not want more

By arubalad |

The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Upon being asked was glad to give advice. We requested some dishes prepared a little off the menu, no problem at all The food was very tasty and seemed to be prepared Individually. The pasta was as good as any I have eaten. The seafood salad appetizer had extremely well prepared fish. The best I can say for this restaurant is that I will definitely be back

Rushed service for medioc

By Jordanna K |

Disappointed. I was looking forward to an amazing pasta dinner in the city, and after reading reviews, was sure I had made a great choice. We walked an hour from our hotel to the restaurant and was starving! We were seated right away for our reservation. I ordered the Spaghettoni with Vongole and my friend ordered the Spghettoni with Pomodoro sauce. Our meal came out uncomfortably fast (less than 10mins). Some of my noodles were piping hot while some lukewarm at best, and so was my friends. Half of the clams on my plate were empty, and those were also either piping hot or lukewarm. It’s obvious to me our meals were simply heated up in a microwave. As my friend and I were taking our time to eat, converse, and enjoy ourselves, we constantly had waiters coming up to us asking if we were finished. It made for an uncomfortable dining experience; they obviously wanted to rush us out to serve the most people (which is understandable, however unpleasant). We arrived, ate, paid, all in about half an hour, which again, is too fast. For the price we paid, it was not worth it. I can get a better deal and meal back home. I was really hoping for more out of this place.

Pizza or liquidy mush?

By Helene V |

I have been a customer for several years and while it *was* quite a treat, it has diminished substantially over the past year—and not solely since Covid. Tonight’s pizza (to go, but we live in the neighborhood) was an abomination. A simple pizza rosso with mozzarella and porcini mushrooms was a liquidy mush with soggy crust.. Who are they kidding? And for $20. Really? To be honest if you are in the neighborhood, Old Fashioned Pizza on East 13th is infinitely better, and much cheaper.

Ottimo

By MartiV |

I am Italian and I can say that this pizza is definitely amazing! Fantastic Italian pizza, they also have vegan mozzarella and the crust is really light. The atmosphere is great too. I advise everybody to come here

Authentic pizza

By Brad S |

If you want to know what pizza in Italy tastes looks like, come here. The restaurant can get pretty busy. The last time I brought my daughter and we had to wait 45 min because the place was packed with Napoli fans. Ten years ago this was part of the Piola pizza family. I've eaten a most of those: Treviso (might be the original), Hallandale, Miami Beach, and both in DC (pretty disappointing, since they have strayed considerably from the necessary ingredients). Thankfully the people who run Ribalta care about quality and have stayed the course.

excellent Italian restaurant

By Francesca P |

Home of the Naples Fun Club of New York. You eat a really good pizza at 25/26 dollars ... but we are in New York and the prices are these. I do not recommend bottled water for the cost but coke or beer will be fine!! Great food .. and really nice guys!! I recommend it for an Italian dinner in the Big Apple!!!

Great evening

By Giulio V |

I have been here with my family. The atmosphere was nice and warm. Service friendly and very helpful!!!! Nothing was wrong we had such a great evening and for sure we will be back !!!! We will recommend it to friends and family

Best outside of Napoli

By APMarkel |

During a one week visit to NYC we ate at Ribalta 3 times. Perfect crust, tomatoes and cheese quality. If you are a pizza lover, you must stop by. Very friendly staff.

Neapolitan Pizza in New York

Neapolitan pizza with excellent ingredients and light dough. Informal and pleasant environment with very helpful staff.

Eat, drink, love and support Naples!

By fabiola i |

Going to Ribalta is like going home, a piece of Naples in New York! You go and return to Ribalta for the food, which is of the highest level (the pizza is like in Naples if not better), for the welcoming and informal, or rather, familiar, environment, for the staff and the owner who are extremely kind and friendly. Neapolitan! In short, after 4 times at Ribalta I can say that it is my favorite place in NYC!!! Carry on like this and #FNS

Excellent true Italian top notch pizza. Highly recommend this place!

By TangoNY |

No wonder this pizza is considered among the best in NYC and one for he best 100 in the entire world. All the ingredients are taken from Italy and it’s top notch. The dough is delicious. The Oven is truly brick with coal searing the perfect pies. Excellent taste. The place has an upscale feel to it. Plenty of seats here. Very impressive marinara and white square pizza with delicious ricotta mix squeezed on top. Would definitely be back for more. Highly recommend this place!

Excellent Salad

By Ed G |

This is a great spot in the village for pizza and in my case an awesome avocado salad with grilled chicken. The salad was full of flavor, fresh, and a wonderful presentation. I was here off hours and the service was still great. I look forward to coming here again with family and friends.

Good pizza but please turn the volume down!!

By feddyaroundtheglobe |

Pizzas are the 'real thing'. Close your eyes and you will feel like in Italy. The problem is the volume of the music inside Ribalta. Unless you yell, your friends won't hear a word. My throat hurt at the end of the evening which almost took away the pleasure of the tasty mozzarella, acciughe and crunchy pizza crust. Service can also improve.

Good food all made in Italy ❤️

By Ermelinda D |

In our wonderful stay in New York, we could not fail to eat in this restaurant founded and run by young Neapolitan entrepreneurs. Success is dictated by the research and preparation of Italian pizzas and dishes with Italian ingredients. I consoled myself, after days of American food😱

Great pizza in NY

By Michele S. |

Already tried several times in the past Ribalta is a must-see every time I go to New York Great pizza with quality ingredients , casual setting, fast and attentive service Some contributors are Italian or speak Italian Average prices but well adapted to the Quality of proposals

Rapina (armed robbery)

By federico s |

Terrible service, $100 for a starter and a pizza, a mess when we asked to split the check among all participants. What else?

No Christmas Eve

By Gugo2000 |

We booked Christmas Eve dinner 15 days in advance. At 7 pm on Christmas Eve we receive a whatsapp with which we are informed that there is a set menu of 110 euros (obviously over taxes, "tips", drinks, etc.) also for children. No info on the courses of the prefix menu... This is not only an unfair but also an unprofessional way of operating. Friends then told us that the dinner was a disaster (clams finished, empty tables ..,). Two lessons: If you want to pluck your customers, you won't get very far. Life is a wheel. If you make pizzas, you can't improvise restaurant for events! Great disappointment

pizza verace in NY

By Jacopo Scardigli |

visited on the advice of Italians, Neapolitan pizza, even being in New York has nothing to envy to many pizzerias in Naples, partly Italian staff very kind

Real Deal

By Richard |

Located in Union Square, Ribalta Pizza is second-to-none for authentic Italian pizza. The flavor says it all.

Excellent Pizza & Service

By Joseph M |

Excellent Pizza. Excellent Service. This is not typical NYC pizza, it is more like real Italian - Neapolitan pizza. Upmarket - pizza & drinks for two was $100. The staff was great and we enjoyed the overall experience. We will go back.

Top also overseas

By Luit |

Excellent products, fast service, courteous staff, top environment! Prices a little high but this is New York! Definitely recommended to feel at home even overseas.

Excellent food here!

By FlavourSeeker |

Got a reservation at this spot, conveniently very close to Union Square. The restaurant is very loud and slightly dark inside, but the food is excellent! We had a bruschetta, as well as some pasta and pizza selections. The ingredients were fresh, the pizza doug was divine and cooked to perfection and the toppings on the pizza were really popping! We were so glad to have stumbled upon this place. Would definitely return!

Best Pizza in NYC

By Almanio R |

The best pizza in NYC is only the cherry on top of the cake. Everything is perfect: food, service, atmosphere and music. Please go there if you want to enjoy the best Italian environment in NYC.

Great GF Pizza.

By JohnfmBrooklyn |

Great GF Pizza. One of the best GF I’ve had in the city. The dough was thick yet fluffy. It was worth the trip from Brooklyn.

It would be 4 stars but...

By Vanessa P |

We reserve a table for 4 at 8:30 pm and they prepare the table at 9:00 pm. They didn’t even offer a flute of Prosecco to apologize. The food, by the way, is so good: we had potatoes crocchette, pizza and dessert. We also ordered beers but they served us bottles: maybe it’s a policy, I don’t honestly know, but a glass could have been appreciated. recommended for the food, reservations organization to be improved.

A piece of Italy in NY

By Caterina C |

Spaghetti and pizza in New York

By Rebecca R |

Helpful staff, excellent pizza, fantastic spaghetti, we had the impression of eating in an excellent Italian restaurant. The only flaw is air conditioning too hot!!!

Ok pizza if dining outside.

By AbsolutelyDubrovnik |

Inside the restaurant looks a little clinical with large open space. Cold with a/c. Ate outside on one of a few tables in a tiny area there. Pizza was ok. Service was prompt.

Wonderful Italian fare

By KRCLofAL |

Delicious parmigiana, brigante pizza and gnocchi. The SuperTuscan Red wine paired nicely with the meal.

Great option

By clinteng |

I came here for the gluten free pizza and it was definitely worth the visit! It is a friendly, cheerful place with a good mix of guests: families, kids, couples, groups of friends and people enjoying a meal by themselves. Pizza was large, fresh and yummy!

Very very noisy. Loud music

By Zacbarcelona |

Very very noisy. Loud music, tv blaring. Nice hostess but strange seating requirements from manager.

Nice surprise

By 973B |

Stopped here for convenience for a quick lunch and was surprised by how good the food was. We split a pizza and a pasta and thoroughly enjoyed both. Pizza crust was very light and tasty in its own! Carbonara was delicious. It was a nice surprise!

Italian flavors in NYC

By Sim D |

Always nice to see those who work well, on the other side of the world, following the roots of their Italy. Quality products, Italian flavors immersed in the big apple. Very kind staff.

What order?

By deek859 |

Once again, Ribalta failed to deliver a Seamless order. Second time, same issue. You get the text saying it'll arrive about 30 minutes later than the estimate. Then you call 20 minutes after that time and find out they 'never received the order'. This is consistent, do not order from here.

The pizza is excellent but other dishes are very good too

By Riccardo C |

One of the Best Pizza in NYC. I also enjoyed other dishes, very original. It's perfect for business lunch and friends hangouts

it became our favorite in NYC

By Mauricio S |

Year after year we keep coming back to Ribalta. And I have a hard time to pick anything else from the menu than my favorite Nobile Pizza with black truffles. It's simply amazing. Staff is excellent, but the place is busy. Reservation is recommended.

Very good menu

By Rob M |

The food here is very good, the service is equal to that. Would recommend to anyone that wants to experience authentic Italian cuisine.

Good Pizza

By onthemach |

Slow service. Good Pizza, somewhat iItalian. The menu has some good selections. Not bad but there is better.

Amazing food and staff

By Ferdinando D |

One of best place where you can enjoy a real Neapolitan pizza. Hight ingredients quality, really friendly staff and a super TOP owner ‘Rosario’. Highly suggested to go a couple of times to taste differs delicatesses. 🔝🔝🔝

Great pizza!

By Lin46 |

Ended up at Ribalta to escape the pouring rain so we didn’t have a reservation but they managed to find us a table. Had an excellent meal; pizza and a house salad - both were excellent. Atmosphere and service were also good. Highly recommend eating here.

Excellent!!!

By Mistermax72 |

How to feel at home thousands of kilometers away… Recommended by a friend, I went there the first evening I arrived in New York. So much so that I liked everything, I returned for the entire period of my stay every evening for dinner… The owner Rosario is really very nice but above all he makes you feel at home!!! Highly recommended!!!!!

Gourmet pizza, great salads and super starters

By Melanie C |

Started off with calamari, meatballs and salads. So good. We ordered so we could do family style. The gnocchi was incredible! My fav. Pizzas were great. But I was almost full by the time pizza came! My son and his friends loved the place and the cool vibe. Great service.

A little Naples in New York

Amazing food, service and ambience

By katia c |

We were a party of 9 and didn’t have a reservation.Despite the restaurant being pretty crowded the staff was able to accommodate us in less than 15 minutes. The food was truly amazing and the service super attentive. We’ll be back soon, for sure!

Great pizza

By afelric1 |

Cute restaurant. Amazing pizza... you get a pie to yourself. The sauce is just amazing. The gnocci is very good as well. Highly recommended and they do accept reservations. Popular spot... sometimes has famous people in it.

The best pizza of our lives

By ednamendes05 |

We are from São Paulo, Brazil, where there are excellent pizzas. but we had to admit that at Ribalta, we had THE BEST PIZZA OF OUR LIVES!! The one with black truffle & blue cheese was PHENOMENAL! Service was amazing by our new friend Vincenzo and owner Chef Pasquale. Remarkable experience to celebrate my husband’s birthday!

Authentic Italian Pizza

By azafa |

Authentic, the restaurant’s music was loud though, but the food made up for it. Had Pepito Red pizza which was great

GREAT Pizza Restaurant

By Jerry D |

We met up with cousins, had a party of nine. Everyone found something on the menu that they liked. The food was excellent, the service superb. Our server, Anna, was welcoming and attentive. The kids were comfortable and the portions were very generous. I would recommend Ribalta to anyone looking for authentic, stone oven pizza.

Amazing Italian Restaurant

By Nicksson |

Went with the friends several times during our stay in New York. Busy at times so make sure you book in advance. The staff is great and the food is amazing.

A pleasing dinner with excellent service

By Carolyn G |

The pizza crust is light, tasty, and delightful. The sauce tasted perfectly light, fresh, and perfectly balanced to the crust and toppings ratio. I thought the service was excellent. In addition to the Doc pizza, we ordered fresh gnocchi. I was equally pleased by the quality of the ingredients, and fresh flavors. I found the atmosphere to be effervescent, and pleasing. I highly recommend a stop at Ribalta Pizza.

exceptional pizza

By JEAN CHRISTOPHE T |

Great pizza and pasta don't hesitate. Fresh homemade dough. Very pleasant staff. Unbeatable price. Italy in New York. Italian institution in the heart of Manhattan

Best Pizza in NYC

By Julia v |

We went with a group of friends on a Saturday night and it was perfect. Great wine menu, amazing starters and super tasty pizza!

Wonderful pizza

By AnnaO |

Fabulous wood fired pizza! After reading this was in the list for best pizzas in the world - we had to try while we were in the city. Amazing, very authentic pizza. Just missed a full 5 stars as it was very chilly in there, but food gets 5/5!

Good pizza

By monsgrantmorg |

Went after seeing a pizza review on you tube by an Italian who rated this the best he had in NYC. Ended up going twice whilst in NYC, first we just had the pizza and it was really good. The second time we had pasta, really loved the little truffle gnocchi, the carbonara I didn’t love as much, think they served it with the wrong pasta type. A waiter ran into my Aunty and knocked her to her knees and kept walking, I was not happy about that! Overall we enjoyed the restaurant.

True Italy pizza different than your NYC slice

By meworldtraveller |

Ribalta was good, the pizza was good, the place is nice and service is excellent. We tried a few different pizzas as its a highly rated place. Its more of a real Roma pizza kind of place. Simple tomato sauce and cheese. If you are someone who loves NYC pizza this is a little different that what you might expect. Its definitely true to real Italy pizza. NYC pizza places usually spice up the sauce with herbs a bit more so its a different flavor all together.

Nice place and good food!

By Gabriele C |

Great place and super food. Take a pala pizzas, share, eat and feel back home. Try the limoncello at the end is soo good!

Ribalta: Pizza with Neapolitan Soul

By Ernesto |

It's no surprise that New York is home to some of the best pizzerias in the US, and Ribalta, located in Greenwich Village, is a constant presence on top lists. Voted the 2nd best in the United States in 2021 and 21st best in the world in 2023, Ribalta takes the pizza experience to another level. Made with genuinely Neapolitan ingredients, from the dough flour to natural yeast, tomatoes and cheeses, each piece offers an authentic combination of flavors and unique quality. The welcoming atmosphere and attentive service perfectly complete the evening, providing a true Italian culinary journey.

Very good real Italian cuisine

By Marco B |

Best Italian restaurant in New York, very kind waiters, just a bit of a wait for the table but normal full restaurant.

Flip

By Gerardo Montervino |

Nice place friendly and welcoming staff. Good pizza, light with balanced combinations Less good French fries Slightly high prices

Absolutely memorable pizza

By C-Z-1982 |

Went there upon recommendation of Italian friend who lives in NY. He suggested that Ribalta makes the best pizzas in NY. Not sure they are the best, I haven’t sampled all of NY’s pizzerias, but the pizzas were fabulous, certainly like in Italy. Thin crusted, delicious combinations of ingredients (too many to describe). And reasonable prices. Great service. Definitely recommended!

Great restaurant really Italian

By Sery86 |

Perhaps the only Italian restaurant actually run by Italians and with truly Italian cuisine. Prices are commensurate with the quality and especially the quantity of the dishes .. really great choice

Great Lunch

By Ellis1207 |

Pizza was Excellent. We had calamari as an appetizer and it was prepared 👌. We enjoyed the friendly and courteous staff. The restaurant is very family friendly.

Poor or No Service at all

By Canon Patel |

We had a reservation on 7/7/21 6.45 PM for table of 5. We got a table and server takes our drinks order. Simple drinks glass of Prosecco and Peroni Draught. These did not arrive for 30 minutes. We asked to change the server but nothing changed. Will I recommend someone to go here? Definitely not. We all go out for a meal to have a good time and decent service. Non of the above is here. Thank you.

Authentic Experience, Great Food, Fun Place

By Pippo Baudo |

Perfect restaurant for all occasions, from dates to fun time with friends. Amazing and authentic Italian food (not Italian-American). Surprising price-to-quality ratio for NYC. Friendly staff and great cocktails too! Highly recommended

Being in New York but feeling at home, in Naples!

By Salvatore |

Being in New York but feeling at home, in Naples! Semplicemente wow! Ribalta is the essence of Italianness, a one-of-a-kind place in the multicultural landscape of New York. A divine cuisine, an exquisite pizza as you would eat it in historic pizzerias in Naples, and an environment that involves you and pushes you to party. And if there is also the Napoli game, then it seems to be at the Maradona Stadium. And the two owners, Rosario and chef Pasquale Cozzolino, are not only the managers of the restaurant, but are like friends.

Just a great goddamn time with great goddamn eats

By Chris |

These folks are the best folks as far as I'm concerned. They're neat, the foods great, and I'm gonna bring my special someone back around as soon as i can scrape the stacks together to make it happen. One love. No stress, Good sex One boo, no ex Small circle, big checks Ribalta bet bet bet

Delicious pizzas near Union Square

By FlyDog33 |

We had dinner on a recent summer weekend night with 12 family members and friends. All of our pizzas and pasta dishes were delicious, and the service was good. I’m glad we had reservations because this place got packed. I’d come back again especially since it’s conveniently located near the Union Square subway stop.

Not a slow quiet pizza joint

By John V |

Great food, good staff and management that cares. Active bar, not a great place for long conversations.

The best pizza in NYC!!! Very

By Lapo P |

The best pizza in NYC!!! Very friendly staff!! Amazing people from Italy!! Everything on the menus is the best

The real pizza in New York

By Chrissveneto |

Great pizza and not impossible prices for New York. Super ingredients quality! The service is up to the bar. Highly recommended for those who love ver pizza

Terrible experience that doesn’t redeem the food.

By Alexandra S |

Don’t eat here. The food was pretty impressive, but unfortunately the service was terrible. Our waitress never came back to talk to us and we were going to order both a bottle of wine and dessert and she never came back. The manager came over and talked to us and said the waitress was "overwhelmed" but as someone who worked in the service industry I explained you can ask for help, but I counted the times she went to the other tables and it was three times per table, but us not once after we ordered. We had to request our check. I'm sorry but it was a bad experience and I wouldn't recommend them.

Great experience and gluten free options

By David T |

Great menu with gluten free options. Professional and dedicated service team, and excellent presentation of dishes. Definitely would go back.

Very good pizza, but a Michelin mention?

By Northern_Traveler00 |

One of us had pizza (meatballs were excellent), one had a salad, and one had the Octopus, as the Branzino wasn't a Whole Fish. All were good, but none of us thought it was Michelin Good. Potato Croquettes app was the best thing we had. Service was quite good. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60763-d3158813-r883924207-Ribalta_Pizza-New_York_City_New_York.html#

I Don’t Give A 5 Often Anymore

By Kuvasz1988 |

Tremendous place. Our service was superb. The food amazing. The pizza crust is almost like a naan bread which was amazing. A must try when in the Village

A slice of Napoli

By Gkamara |

Excellent food and a fun atmosphere. Napolitan pizza at its best! Friendly service and a great range of dishes and drinks.

Authentic napoletan pizza in New York

By Angelo |

My italian friends in New York took me in this pizzeria/restaurant. I was really surprised to eat an authentic napoletan pizza in Manhattan. Many waiters are Italian just like the atmosphere in the restaurant. Not that expensive to be in New York.

Show

By Mauricio F |

Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food (what pizza!), impeccable service! Neapolitan Soul in downtown Manhattan! Long live Italy!

Poor pizza

By Sylvia |

It's not real Neapolitan pizza like they say! We took two pizzas, Margherita and there were plenty of them. The impact wasn't bad, but the seasoning wasn't up to par. The nerano was full of “””mozzarella””” (poor American cheese) and really heavy, the Margherita tasted like no such. We also felt cold in the room due to the blasting air conditioning. Overall, a nice place but don't expect much for the pizza.

Great place

By Isabella P |

My Italian friends brought me here, that's how you know it's the real deal. Great pizza and service. Cute atmosphere.

Amazing; will come back when in NYC

By asturias2905 |

Amazing place, great hospitality, we couldn’t believe how many Italians were having lunch here. St least 4 tables when we were yhere. The food was amazing. We had pizza, pasta and seafood salad and everything was amazing. The employees were really nice as well. For sure we will come back.

Excellent pizza

By Tim A |

Top notch pizza, with quality ingredients and pitch perfect crust. It gets rather crowded and noisy at dinner time for my tastes, but I had a very pleasant lunch.

Night out with friends

By Olga Conocchia |

We found this wonderful restaurant a couple of years ago while in New York. My husband is Italian and wanted something that reminded him of home. As he says this restaurant is better than some of the pizzerias we have in Italy. He raves about this place to everyone and whenever friends are visiting New York he always tells them to go to ribalta. The ingredients are fresh and everything is prepared to the standards of a real Italian pizzeria. What we love about this place is the way everything is served and looks. It’s not an American Italian restaurant it’s an Italian restaurant.

Very nice meal

By Bowa21 |

Great pizza, went for a typical Italian red pizza, plain which is unusual but was recommended, sat at the bar with decent beer and wine choices. Nice food, service and good atmosphere.

Great Dinner @ Ribalta!

By Filippo S |

Lovely restaurant in NYC. If you want to taste some Italian food this is the right place to go! Great service and good selection of wines

A real gem!

By xMartinas |

Pizza is so amazing, taste just like in Napoli. Real Neapolitan! The staff is great and so is the atmosphere. Such a gem found. Would highly recommend!

Quick lunch

By Jeff I |

Needed a quick lunch before an afternoon wine tasting. My wife is celiac and we needed gluten free options in addition. Had a caprese salad and a gluten free pizza. It was one of the best pizzas we have had since she was diagnosed 3 years ago. Very prompt, moved quickly and Vanessa paid great attention to us. Highly recommend this place.

Delicious local gem of a restaurant

By dustythoughts |

The way you know a restaurant is genuine is if the community it aims to serve (e.g., Indian food, Italian food) is actually full of those people. We heard plenty of Italian while we were here, which to us signified that this Italian restaurant was the place to be, and we weren't wrong. The food was outstanding - the Norma pizza and the gnocchi were sublime, as was the zucchini scapece. The service was impeccable and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and nice without being overbearing.

The best neapolitan pizza in the world!

By Jessica |

This was one of my best food experiences I ever had! Chef Pasquale Cozzolino really knows how to make great food, I enjoyed everything from the pizza napoletana (just like on the streets of Naples) aswell as the Spaghetti al Pomodoro. I'll definitely return!

A corner of Italy in the heart of New York

By boi1301 |

If you are looking for an authentic experience of Italian cuisine, this restaurant is a must. The quality of the dishes is excellent, from appetizers to desserts, everything is taken care of in detail. It is rare to find such a high level in New York, but here they really stand out. Special thanks go to Alessandro, our waiter, who with his professionalism and courtesy made the evening even more enjoyable. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to taste a bit of Italy without leaving the city.

Close your eyes and.. you are in Italy!

By Federica V |

If you would knocked me out and I would open my eyes just sitting there at the Ribalta restaurant I would think to be in Italy!!! Right there in NY! We had bruschetta that can be easily divided in 2 (almost 3) with basil pesto, burrata and fresh tomato, zucchini flowers as appetizers: a m a z i n g! Everything was so fresh and authentic. The pizza options are really a lot and in a table of 8 everyone picked a different one with the approval of 2 picky Napolitans! Dessert too and coffee! Overall great! Service was also perfect! I will definitely go back to Ribalta next time in NY! Grazie

Always excellent pizza

By Michele S. |

Excellent pizza in an informal setting Fast service, average prices but it's a pleasure to leave the table satisfied (Be careful of the very strong air in certain parts of the room)

Great pizza

By Nick L |

Lively restaurant with an up tempo ambiance. Good, attentive service. The pizza was excellent. Good value.

Ottimo Ristorante

By Dario M |

Great Italian quality food. Price is competitive and staff very competent and friendly. Strongly recommended to Italian food lovers like me!
