Me and my husband were in the area on our honeymoon and wanted to go somewhere not touristy for a meal. So after searching we came across this place! And we weren't disappointed!! The service, food, atmosphere and value for money was all fantastic!

Came here for one of my friend’s 21 Birthday brunch celebration and it was litt. They have an outside area where people can sit on the sun with beautiful and natural decorations. They have a two hour unlimited mimosas and sangrias for $20 if you buy an Entree which lead me and my friends on getting drunk. Everything was nice and beautiful. The coconut Mojito was AMAZINGGG!!!

Wife brought me here for my birthday last year and the food was sooooo incredible ! Great ambiance, music was good , small cozy place but can’t stress enough how good the food was lol

We live in the neighborhood and I go regularly with a dear friend. It is a ritual that we share. A lovely cocktail, a ridiculously wonderful steak, and a great bottle of wine. Great service (ask for Norman), nice atmosphere (check out the patio) and good music and vibe - check it out!

Presentation & taste was outstanding, service was also great. Clean restaurant server's were knowledgeable & friendly

What a gem in the middle of harlem. The nice vibe of the personnel and the hip hop music give this place an amazing atmosphere. The beef is the star, but also the salmon with grilled asparagus is solo delicious. The sangria options are great the best one is the mango.

I scratched something off my bucket list today. I biked from my home in western New Jersey to my son's apartment in East Harlem. To celebrate my success we went to Ricardo's for dinner. The OMG burger was one of the finest I've had anywhere. What was more impressive, though, was the phenomenal service. Ricardo's was packed and noisy and fun!

I have lived in Harlem all my life, seen many things but never a disaster such as this place. It's 2018-why bother to have someone make reservations only to get there 20 min early and be told 20 min AFTER your reserved time that the table can't be cleared because the other party is not ready to leave but mind you they have eaten and paid their check, so you then offer to sit us in a corner with heavy foot traffic, people trying to post up at the bar with their backsides in your face all because they want someone to buy them a drink. Mind you the music is so loud you can't even hear yourself think. What's the point of making reservations if you can't accommodate??? And when I told the hostess I was leaving she then tried to find a table-but to no avail. No manager came to talk even after I asked for him but instead went to greet his "regular" customer. Funny thing is I WAS a regular but never again. I instead went to Cecil's and had a fantastic experience. You all can keep this hood place.

Was staying at courtyard Marriott way upper east 92nd street so this place is about 10-12 block walk great restaurant in the area, food was good music was loud which is cool so just be warned

I live in the area and used to go to Ricardo Steak house on special occasions, I was there recently with my fiancé for our anniversary (probably won't return). *We walked in and couldn't find a hostess in the front. We were then walked to the back area and seated. The seating area is way too cramped. *The music was too loud, really couldn't have a private conversation. *The lady in the next table kept yelling across the room to her friends (no one said anything to her about this). *People in sweat pants (hanging off their butts), bubble coats, and sneakers. Some sloppy hood rat showing (at least) 2 inches of butt crack (without bending over). Guys at that table yelling for shots of tequila. *Couldn't tell if the guys crowded in the doorway were bouncers or guests. *The wait staff was inattentive; we were seated and eating already when I had to ask for napkins, and my water glass was empty for about 20 minutes before I had a chance to ask for a refill. *Random guests kept passing by our table to greet the girl with the butt crack and kept bumping our table. *We were swindled into spending $8 on four of the TINIEST shrimp I've ever seen.

So I was pleasantly surprised....Im a big foodie and this place initially didn't call my attention because of all the hype.Theres always a large crowd whenever I pass by and I prefer much quieter places. However my friend convinced me to go.We didn't have reservations and had to wait by the bar for a couple of mins. When we got to our table I ordered a mango margarita it was amazing!! Our waiter was really friendly and attentive. We then ordered a avocado salad accompaniedwith fresh garlic sticks, delicious! For the main coarse I had the Sea Bass. Not only was it tasty but the presentation was also very nice and unique.I would have expected this presentation from a fancy restaurant so I was surprised. My friend and I lasted hours catching up and enjoying our meal.We were the last to leave and not once did we feel rushed. The DJ played some great hip-hop and RnB.Really enjoyed my time there.Even though its a steak house don't be scared to try other varities of food they have to offer.

Delicious food! My husband and I enjoyed the atmosphere, appetizer, and entrees. I ordered one of the steaks and it was juicy and delicious, my husband had the chicken marsala and loved it. We had the beef empanadas for an appetizer and they were delicious too. They also gave us garlic bread and it was one of the best garlic bread I have had. The atmosphere was very entertaining, and the staff is very polite and attentive. Will definitely return soon. Worth the price!

This place is always busy and loud, but great fun with very good food and drinks. We started with Margaritas, the sautéed shrimp to start then Da Chops. Portions are huge, but they always offer to wrap what you can't finish. I do wish the tables didn't rock on the uneven floor though!

We haven’t been to this restaurant in over 11 years. The space was booming with beautiful music and people of course conscious of the times. We sat at the outside area that is now enclosed. Everything was delicious. For a Sunday, unbelievable energy, a great booster. We had the oh Crispy Snapper Porterhouse Steak Ricardo’s salad Clams Casino Garlic bread Old Fashioned The restaurant is not your standard steakhouse but it’s a vining with great music and food.

I was the first person to order take-out, at the beginning of the 5 p.m. shift. I waited over 30 minutes for my take-out order which consisted of an arugula salad and calamari. Three people who ordered after me got their order and left. However, before they got their order, I approached the person (about 20 minutes after ordering) who took my order and requested an update; and I was told the order was still being worked on. Ten minutes later a man in a grey suit (may have been the manager) was at the take-out counter, so I asked him about my order, and he also told me that it was still being worked on (with a nasty attitude). In the meantime another person that ordered after me got their order and left the restaurant. I went to the man in the grey suit, again. I asked him to please look in the bags lined up on the counter to see if my order was sitting in one of the bags. He, told me no (nasty), that my order was not ready and I should have been checking earlier (nasty). I told him, that I did check earlier and I kept being told that my order is still being worked on. Then he finally looked in the bags which had the arugula salad, but not the calamari. He then snatched up calamari in a foil tin container, that seemed to have come out of no where, aggressively placed it in the bag and gave it to me. He gave no apologies, nothing. My food was sitting there, all that time; and no one cared, or had the Good Sense to look in the bags. When I got home, the salad was fine, but the calamari looked scorched and old. If I could give no stars, I would. I used to LOVE Ricardo's. However, lately Ricardo's service has greatly declined. As, this isn't the first time that I've had a problem with Ricardo's take-out orders, but nothing this bad. Please do NOT take-out at Ricardo's. If you can't dine-in, go some where else. It's not worth the stress or frustration. They need to have a better organized and managed take-out system and service.

The food is always good no matter what you order. During the warmer months it's best to make reservations because the place is very small & becomes crowded really fast! My fave drink...which is now discontinued...Hail to the V is yummy!! But I'll settle for their hit the road Jack drink!

The food there was sooo very good, i ordered the daily special for dinner, it was mashed potatoes severed with salmon and shrimp. I can still tast it days later that's how good it was.

Place is Small. But food and Atmosphere was Nice. Waiters look clean and very helpful. Kept checking if we were alright. Going back to try the Shrimps.

Absolutely amazing .. We went for Sunday brunch with my son 2nd Avenue East Harlem. You have to have a reservation because the place is so popular.. My wife and I arrived before my son and was greeted at the door warmly. I had a quick conversation with the gentleman at the door and explained we are visiting from London U.K. He welcomed us like we were old friends a great start. We were taken to our table and there was a dj playing fantastic music. I explained we were waiting for our son and we were given some water. The service was on point and the drinks and food wow … absolutely amazing. Great service great food and drinks and on leaving the man who greeted us wish us a safe flight home as I told him earlier that we were leaving tomorrow. Would I recommend this restaurant 100% I would like to thank the staff for making our time memorable.

I placed a reservation back in April 2015 to celebrate a friend birthday. Our party of two had a reservation scheduled for May 8 at 8:30pm. We arrived at 7:50pm and was quickly escorted in and assigned a table. The place was packed as it was a warm night in NYC and the atmosphere was just as esciting. The DJ who provided the selections of R&B, hip-hop, reggae, reggaeton, and salsa was definitely creating a great vibe. My table was near the front of the restaurant near the bar area where the big screen television was showing the NBA Playoff game featuring the Chicago Bulls vs the Cleveland Cavaliers. The drinks were flowing. The dress was casual even though we came business casual. Our server came promptly after being seated and explained the specials. The birthday person decided on ordering the Angry Lobsster with calarmari (that was not fried) and it was DELICIOUS. I ordered the Lamb Chops ("Lamb Chops on Lex") which featured spinach and potatoes also DELICIOUS. We both had ordered salads and beef empanadas to start off. The drinks were very, very good. Our table was directly across from where the food was cooked and delivered to the table. Food was cooked to our satisfaction. Seating is hard to get if you do not make a reservation, especially on a Friday night. MAKE SURE YOU MAKE THE RESERVATION. We have some dessert which was given by our server as she was aware of my friend birthday, so good! We had an enjoyable time as every table was filled. WE ARE GOING BACK. Just to alert you to the fact they have a RICARDOS OCEAN GRILL which is 3 blocks North. A GREAT TIME was had by all! Come up to East Harlem and stop on by and experience it!

My daughter made reservation for my birthday. The experience beginning at the entrance (following CDC guidelines) to the seating, drinks, music, and the food was awesome. I will be visiting real soon. Love love love. Laydee P

I have been going to Ricardo Steakhouse for the pass five years now and I can say every time I go the food is always great. Me and my finance love going their. The first time I introduce him to this place we went for mother's day and every mother's day so far we go there and the food is to so good. I love the service.

I been to ricardos for dinner and it was great. I recently went for a birthday brunch. I made the reservation weeks in advance. My email said 17 people and that I would still have 2 hrs for the unlimited mimosa. The day of my brunch I get a call in the morning asking if I was coming and if it was 17 people still I said no its 18 instead. When I get there they have us outside. No one gave me the option or informed me I would be outside. It is July and 90 something degrees outside. I get to my table they say they only have me down for 15 people. After that is handled my waiter tell me Im only having the unlimited mimosa for a hour. After I say I want the manager they said yes. Prior to me coming I asked a million times over the phone will I have 2 hrs and was told yes. When I bought my cake in I tell the lady my cake topper you have to put on. They bring out the cake with out the topper. So I go tell someone they do it over with my topper. It goes to show you the communicate at ricardos is not great at all. The waiter was nice and helpful tho. The food for brunch was ok. I prefer they dinner. I ordered the steak and eggs it was ok. The crab cake was amazing and the different flavor mimosas was great. Specially the strawberry rose and the mango lime. The drinks are always great here. Would I come for brunch again maybe, dinner absolutely. Would I come has a big party no. Just a small group I would.

Great experience last night. We were there the celebrate a birthday. Perfect ambiance complete with great drinks, music and vibes. The service was wonderful and the food..well omg🤤🤤🤤

Very cool atmosphere and very tender steak. The service is very attentive. Highly recommended if you are looking for an excellent place to eat in East Harlem.

This place has a cute feel to it with multiple paintings on the wall. They also have an area in the back with sort of an outside feel to it because the ceiling is glass. My bestie and I opted to sit in the main area because of the spacing. We were greeted by very friendly waiter who immediately gave us the rundown of the specials which I decided to take advantage of. I was extremely happy I did because the food was amazing and the portions were more than enough. I also indulged in 1 coconut margarita which was a delightful taste. After such great service and tasty food I decided to visit once again the following month so I could try the lobster ravioli. I'm fairly certain that is now my favorite dish from there. If you want good food with nice music, polite people and a delicious sundae for a friend's birthday this is definitely the place for you!

Much more than Dinner! The atmosphere was so grown up, the drinks, the old school hip hop just put you in the mood of being out. Birthdays everwhere the entire restaurant participated it was like one huge Dinner Party. The food, drinks and service was amazing. Next time I'm in New York I will definitely return.

Stopped by with the family for a brunch. Host Rachel was great. Fun and attentive despite the temperature being at 95 degrees. Bar has their favorites. Did not feel welcomed. Waiter was great. Knowledgeable. Will return.

I was happy to finally have the opportunity to dine at the infamous Ricardo Steak House and my belly was ecstatic and satisfied. We were seated promptly at our reserved time. I arrived early and was able to take pictures of the restaurant. I learned that it was a Colombian restaurant. The staff was phenomenal and very accommodating. I chose to keep it simple and order pancakes and chicken. My pancakes came with whipped cream and fresh strawberries and was simply delicious. The chicken was seasoned perfectly. I had a wonderful time with my friends while enjoying great food. The vibe was awesome and the music was great as well, I will definitely be back again.

We took my husband there for a birthday dinner. We had a 6:00 reservation and people were waiting/trying to get a seat. We had to wait about five minutes and we were seated. Our waitress, Taylor was very attentive. The toasted garlic bread with a spicy dipping sauce was delicious. We ordered a chicken dish, lamb chops and the shrimp and clams. Everything was delicious. The music was on point. The service was on point. The only thing that was not good, I ordered the caramel crepe for dessert. It looked better than it tasted. The vanilla ice cream was delicious. My husband enjoyed his chocolate cake. I would go again. I would go again.

Cozy feel packing a powerful punch...this place has it all...no matter what your dining fetish, you can find it here...excellent palette pleasing...not teasing food (taste just as if the chef was hand picked by top chef), drinks that will take the edge off, help you whine down, or get your buzz on, you pick your poison...lastly, the staff ids as lovely and vibrant as the decor...arte deco had nothing on the sultry vibe of Ricardo's! GO TO RICARDO'S...AND THEN GO AGAIN!

The food is eclectic. there's nothing else more that i can say. If you're not into crowds then maybe this place isn't for you b/c there is a little bit of a crowd there.. but that's the point of the restaurant it's not supposed to be for a quiet night out. i'll be going back!

Every single time I visit Ricardo's I have an amazing time. The staff is efficient and remember you if you visit at least twice. The food is incredible, but this is a neighborhood spot, it's constantly packed on Thursday-Saturday. I encourage you to make a reservation and don't eat all the garlic bread. It seriously is extremely addicted. The peach sangria is my favorite, and it's always strong. Be prepared on a Thursday or Friday night to be entertained by the crowd. It's a neighborhood spot and people love to come here for a good time, but more so for the food.

You want steak??? That is were you go. Area is safe so no worries. Food is excellent and prices are ok. Same food downtown Manhattan you pay twice as much!

loved the atmosphere and the rib eye steak the service was great u will definitely b back. go and see what I mean...

Great food and atmosphere. Took a very good friend for her birthday. Went on a Monday evening so it wasn't crowded. They took us right in for our reservations. Drinks were good and the waitress was attentive. Price was okay. Usually what I pay at Ruth Chris but that atmosphere is totally different, so that price was expected. I will return though sometime this summer.

Our birthday celebration dinner gets a 5 Star rating! Being in NYC was a last minute decision so we didn’t have reservations for dinner but decided to arrive early to take our chances. We arrived at 4pm and waited until 5pm for dinner service to start. We had a lovely table outside that was toasty warm with overhead heaters. We enjoyed watching the happy people waiting for a table outside on the sidewalk dancing to the lively tunes. We ordered empanadas for an appetizer without realizing how huge the portions were. A delicious complimentary garlic bread and marinara sauce was also provided. My husband and I shared the Ricardos sample platter. Everything was delicious and more than enough for two people! Now I know why everyone left with doggy bags. Lots of other diners had steak and lobster/seafood platter which will be a “next time” meal.

My daughter researched best place for a birthday! She was spot on. Its in East Harlem on 110th and 2nd Avenue. We took and Uber to get there, cheaper than a cab. We made a reservation and smart move, the place was packed on a Friday night. The weather was great so the reservation stand was outside, they took our name and a nice gentlemen opened up the red velvet rope and we went inside. Waited 2 mins to our table. Bar area is small but the rest is big, goes back and there is a DJ inside. Its loud, dark and fun! So worth the ride, the food, service, quality was all 5 star! Attentive waitstaff, the quality of the steak and amount was huge and delicious! They give you pressed bread with a dipping tomato sauce. I had the skirt steak, filled up the plate, tasted wonderful and sat on bliss potatoes. My daughter the Filet Mignon Salad. We had the ice cream sundae for dessert that is topped with whipped cream, strawberry and chocolate drizzle, and brownie pieces on the side to die for. Also they set the dessert on fire! What's not to love. I can't wait to go back with more people, great restaurant, great food, what's not to love!

First time here and loved the food and experience. The food was very tasty, the service was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. I upset it took me so long to try this place but i'm sure I will return soon.

Great food, great atmosphere, great liquor. portion was so large I had to take some to go. my next visit is definitely soon.

I enjoyed this restaurant. We walked in to a live dj night that set a great ambiance for our birthday celebration. The food was delicious but I wouldn’t recommend the pasta. My friend mentioned the surf and turf and lamb chops was a 10/10. The sea bass was 9/10.

Been here a few times and the food and the crowd is always great. I have sat at the bar as well as inside at a table or put in the back. I have attached a pic of the grill that can be filled with steak, shrimp, pork chops, mussels, salmon, chicken, or sausage. I get a high just smelling the grill and inhaling the pan seared garlic. They have attractive staff, good music, and a nice first stop before going out for the night. It's snug so it can seem crowded sometimes, but dress right and you're in.

i walked away with the feeling of downtown quality food, with an uptown flare. The waiter was on point with the drinks &food. The quality of the food was A1 from the apps to entree. The dj had the place rocking & the energy was on good level.Great on all levels for me.

We ate at a lot of restaurants in New York City, but overall this was our favorite. Everything was amazing from the meatballs to the tenderloin.

I found Ricardo on tripadvisor and I'm so glad we went. We made a reservation for a Sunday night and we were about 15 minutes early but they seated us immediately. The music was a little loud for my husband but the rest of us loved it. My 2 children and soninlaw are mid 20's and they had a blast. While we were waiting for our appetizers my daughter looked over and recognized a rapper and before we left they were able to get a pic with him. We ordered the crab cake and the calamari to start with and they were both delicious!! The steaks are just wonderful and my soninlaw ordered fish and he said it was really good too. My husband ordered one of the specials which was lobster and other seafood with linguine on the recommendation of the waiter. He was a little disappointed but we are from Louisiana and I've learned not to order seafood away from home because we like it spicy and everywhere else usually seems a little bland. The sides were awesome too, especially the roasted red potatoes and the asparagus; my daughter had the Parmesan asparagus and she didn't save me a bite but she raved about it. Oh and the garlic bread they brought out was perfect!! Our first meal here but I'm sure we will be back!!

Food is awesome! Especially the seafood choices. Regardless of what your order, food is great. Never had a bad experience.

A friend of mine I hadn't seen in awhile recommended that we meet here for dinner. I was very happy she did as the food was EXCELLANT. Loud music on a Saturday night which I seemed to enjoy. I can see some people not liking that. But its very cool spot to hang out at and will definitely be back.

I've heard great things about Ricardo's Steak House and decided to try it for my friends birthday as a gift. I was able to get a reservation that day (during the week) which was great. The atmosphere was energetic with R&B pumping through the place. Nice staff. We ordered the Lobster Ravioli and Red Snapper. The Lobster Ravioli was REALLY good but the added shrimp in the dish tasted like it was frozen and cooked to long so I just picked them out the dish. Overall it was cool. I gave 3 stars because it was my friend's birthday and the host was suppose to let our waiter know to bring a sundae to the table and it never happened. I didn't want to be obvious and remind the waiter so I just let it slide.

I had been trying to get to Ricardo's for at least 2 years at the recommendation of a co-worker, and when I finally made it there yesterday to celebrate my birthday it definitely did not disappoint. I ordered the NY Strip. Best steak I have ever eaten, cooked perfectly to your specifications. My party of 7 all had different entrees (meat, chicken, and lamb) and each patron was impressed by their entree. Drinks are strong and tasty! No watered down stuff here. We ordered a pitcher of the passion fruit sangria which was delicious and another drink which I cannot remember the name of. It was a blue version of a Long Island Iced tea. Boy did that thing pack a punch! Service was phenomenal from the moment we arrived. We were unable to make a reservation as we decided to go last minute. Ricardo's is a local hotspot, especially on the weekend and evenings. I had been in touch with the Assistant Manager, Jorge, via email, the night before and despite the fact that they were booked for the evening he told me I should come in anyway and put my name on the list and he would take care of us. When we arrived the hostess was sweet and very accomodating. Jorge greeted us at the door and certainly followed through on his promise, otherwise the wait would have been 90 mins! We sat outside in the patio which was comfortable and pleasant despite the breeze. We were assigned to Luis who was absolutely phenomenal! Best server I had ever encountered - anywhere! A friend informed him we were celebrating two birthdays and he immediately brought over complimentary shots for our party. He was fun, attentive and even played the Stevie Wonder Happy Birthday song for us several times throughout the night. He took pics for us and even posed for pictures with us. And lets not forget another two complimentary slices of chocolate cake and cheesecake to end the celebration. The atmosphere is very lively and busy. They play music (loudly) throughout the night, mostly old school jams, R&B and hip-hop. They got us up out of our chairs when they played a medley of 80's theme songs, lol. Some people say the volume of the music bothers them but it didn't trouble any of us perhaps because we were outside on the patio. But we love loud music anyway! We spent nearly 3 hours in Ricardo's and despite the fact that they were very busy were not rushed in any way, which was a rarity. Again props to Luis! I gave the spot a 4 star rating because of the location. It may not be too convenient (Spanish Harlem) at least for me anyway. And they only have one bathroom positioned in a very inconvenient place in the center of the restaurant. Guess it's not too unreasonable since the place is realtively small. However standing in the a line 5 people deep when you have to go is not a good look. I will definitely be back to Ricardo's again. It has become a new favorite. Fabulous food and spectacular service.

The Ricardo Steakhouse is a very nice place to dine for food that leaves your taste buds wanting more and more to eat. The place is set up nicely and the music is great. Our waiter Alex was outstanding in providing us with excellent service. And the food was perfect! Particularly, the baby lamb chops which were cooked to a sensational flavor catching taste that made me eat all four of them with no thought of saving some for later and I forgot to take a picture of it. My dining buddy had the Red Snapper which was not only delicious, but, was a large portion that could feed two. I want this place to be my new meeting place whenever I visit my friend again.

Went for a friend’s birthday brunch. The service and food was good. They also having music playing so it’s one of those fun brunches with good food and mimosas flowing lol. They also have outdoor seating

Amazing service, amazing food, amazing ambiance, amazing DJ. If your in NYC looking for a nice place to have brunch & dinner this place is it! Decently priced and top notch!

I have been coming here for the past two years and have never been let down. I have introduced this place to several people and they have all loved it! I just had my birthday there and the food, deserts and drinks were amazing. Make sure you have reservations on the weekend, the music is loud and they also have a DJ! The only negative comment I can mention is that it can be a little tight with the seating.

my wife and I had dinner at Ricardo's. Both of our meals were excellent. Very good portion size and our steaks were cooked as we ordered. The service was excellent. I had the skirt steak. I recommend it without reservation. My wife had the sliced steak. She thought her dish was excellent. The garlic bread is great and comes with the meal.

I have to say that this has been the best dining experience that I have had and we eat out a lot. This is a busy latin steakhouse in Spanish Harlem. We visited NYC for 10 days and went here twice. I love to cook and have high expectations. The marsala was fantastic and the pork chop meal was amazing. We tried several appitizers and our favorite are the empanadas but all were very good. The service was extraordinary the first night because they were not too busy and still very good the second night - everyone was very busy. The prices are very fair. I look forward to returning to this fantastic find in a mecca of restaurants in NYC.

This steak house is arguably the finest dining experience to be found within quite a few blocks of East Harlem. It was very busy on a Friday night, so, as a single traveller without a reservation, I got stuck on a lousy table. Forgivable, totally. The service was fast, which - given the amount of customers - was impressive, but it was very impersonal. However, the food was excellent, and the beer was cold. A better selection of brews would be a huge plus. All in all, I enjoyed it tremendously, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good steak (or other piece of meat) in this part of town. Would I travel here if I were in another part of Manhattan? Probably not.

I've recently visited Ricardos twice, in December and this past Sunday. The first time was very busy even on a Wednesday. It was a bit slow this weekend, but Im sure it was mostly due to the snow. Parking is easily found in the area as well. The food is consistently exquisite. My friends or I haven't had any complaints about the food quality. I have yet to try the steak because I prefer seafood. The lobster ravioli and the oh snap snapper have both been amazingly satisfying. The live DJ is always playing great music and they definitely make it special and cute for the birthday guests.

To start minor troubles wit my reservation but the hostess ”Emily Mateus”not only straitened it out immediately but also sent complimentary drinks to appease us for the slight delay #BIGUPS to that.. The food here was way beyond me expectations Steak,Lobster,Shrimp,PHENOMENAL this date night turned out to be awesome we were both pleased by thee atmosphere great music, kind service not to mention the drinks were on point. Not too over pricey but not a spot for CHEAP SKATES EITHER 😬 Overall I will definitely be eating here again on another visit to N.Y #PhillyNative 🦅

New Year’s Eve. Noisy for me, but maybe normal for this night. Ribeye temperature done right. Tender steak charred on outside. However partner and I thought it lacked flavor (bland). My guess is that the spicing or lack of it was responsible. My partner likes sweet vermouth on the rocks. The waiter said he was not sure if they had it. I told him it was an ingredient in a Manhattan. He brought out a Manhattan and another one when we returned it. 3rd time we got the right drink. Service was impressive and attentive even though the place was crowded. Last complaint: 18% service charge, which is fine if they tell me about it, which they did not. I caught it, but after some alcohol, it’s easy to miss and give a full tip on top of that. Doubt I’ll return.

The atmosphere is great, nice music, loved the shrimp appetizers. I had the crash the boat- which is a great mix of spirits. Portions are huge! We all enjoyed our meals.

Ricardo's is definitely worth the trip uptown but bring earplugs if you don't like noise. I'm not sure I get the value proposition of good steakhouse food with very loud music but a lot of the patrons must. It's very hard to have a one on one conversation and with everyone screaming to be heard the place only gets louder. Food is very good overall and the steaks are competitive with their higher priced downtown competition. Enjoyed the rest of the menu as well. Service was fine although I heard it can be uneven. What is uneven are the tables, which needed pieces of cardboard stuck under legs to keep the balanced (is it the tables or the floor???). Great eclectic crowd, fun buzz, fair prices and a good chance you'll find parking are all pluses. Next time, ask to be seated towards the front if possible if you want to be away from some of the noise.

Made last minute reservation for a party of six on a Saturday evening. Initially they were fully committed and suggested we walk in. The Hostess was very helpful and was able to assure me that we would be seated. All in my party were able to get on street parking within 2 blocks. The vibe was electric and remained constant from 7 when we arrived until 11 when we left. Food and drinks are reasonably priced compared to comparable Manhattan steak houses. We had the sampler platter which was very good. I custom ordered a NY strip with rice and beans, sweet plantains and spinach (still have mom whispering in my ear). My steak was very flavorful and cooked well. I would advise ordering one level less well done as many of the patrons order their steaks more fully cooked than typical steak houses (comparing work dinners to the friends I was eating with). The menu even indicates well done steaks take 30 minutes. The flan was a great end to the evening. I will definitely return to the gem off the beaten path.

Well my Dad saw Ricardo's on television and wanted to go there to enjoy his birthday this year. So we did! 3 generations (Grandpa, Dad and Me) went to Ricardo's to have a great birthday dinner! We got there a bit early 6pm on a Wednesday (before Valentine's Day) so that we wouldn't get caught with a large crowd and it was a perfect decision. Love it! The food was perfection! Everything tasted fabulous! We started with drinks (of course). Well let's step back we started with the waiter, who was great! He never rushed us, gave us all specials and recommendations, and put together whatever interesting orders my Dad came up with (SMILE). Whatever my Dad expressed that he wanted, our waiter tried his best to fulfill the request. Cocktails: Peach sangria, Scotch Sour and Rum and Coke with olives. Peach sangria was ok, could have used some more fruit and didn't taste very peachy, but ok. The other drinks I was told were very strong and made well. Appetizers: We had the garlic bread, crab cake and the calamari for the table to share. Everything was scrumptious! The winner was definitely the crab cake. It was fresh, light and fluffy; fork tender, and the salad with the crab cake was great with whatever type of vinaigrette was on the salad, perfect. I could have eaten 20 of those! The calamari was good, batter was seasoned, but I was missing my squid. I didn't receive one piece of squid; that was a bit of a let down, but the zucchini in the tempura batter was priceless! Dinner: Yes we rocked out for dinner. Grandpa had the salmon and shrimp with green beans and red potatoes. I had the skirt steak with salad, red potatoes and creamed spinach. Last but not least the birthday boy had the T-bone steak with shrimp and French fries, side of creamed spinach. YESSS! I will have to give honorable mention to the red potatoes, don't know how they were prepared, somehow in butter but they were the best thing! I feel like I need to call for that recipe! Then my Dad's T-bone steak! Perfection! Cooked perfectly with the perfect char, melted in your mouth. Will be my choice when I return. We had a great time sharing everything at the table! Dessert: Well I am not sure what we had for dessert, but it looked pretty and tasted even better. My Dad was telling the waiter everything he wanted (that they did and didn't have) and the waiter came back with vanilla ice cream, strawberries covered in a sauce and whipped cream. It was great, topped off with some coffee to end the night. CONS: The waiter forgot to bring out the sparkly for the birthday boy, but that was the only complaint for the waiter. The place is loud, music is loud, so you are pretty much screaming to your party all night because you can't speak regular for them to hear you. This is not a romantic spot, or date night thing, nope not at all. Need another bathroom. THE PROBLEM: The hostess, I was told later on she was a manager (EVEN WORSE). I would have given the place 5 stars but this lady was very unpleasant. One hostess was very hospitable; she was taking pictures of us and our family. The other hostess shows up to sit someone beside us and bumps the other hostess out of the way from taking the photos and does not say excuse me or anything. Looks at her like she doesn't exist and proceeds to sit the customers at the table. Everyone around is looking and even the people that she sat said they were sorry and they could have waited for the picture to be taken before they sat down. SMH. Then later when we were enjoying our dessert she had the nerve to come to the table and explain that she had a party of 6 waiting and they needed to use our space! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! You know how much money I spent, and I don't care if I just ordered a drink you don't do that to customers. If I was waiting for a table I would just be waiting for a table. You definitely do not disturb the paying customers explaining about your table issues. This is not our concern. The waiter came and apologized for her, but why should he have to do that. She really needs to learn some tact. She was tasteless! Yes tasteless! I would not let her ruin the great night we were having, but goodness rude! Otherwise Ricardo's was a great mouth watering experience for the family and I!

Every time we go to NYC, we always make sure to have a minimum of 1 dinner here (usually ends up being more). Delicious food and great evening atmosphere. It is however dimly lit and loud, so if you don't enjoy that then this may not be the place for you.

For my first time in NYC, we decided to stay in Harlem. When looking for food we came across this steakhouse. What a gem! Dark, sultry, great food, and great music (although if you want conversation you might find it hard here). I didn't eat the steak, but my fiance did, and it was a hit. The "Ricardo's girl" chicken meal was wonderful. Can't wait to have this again in the future. Wait staff was attentive and wonderful also.

Went for a friends birthday. Atmosphere is fun, played great music. The space was small and the bathroom situation was rough. The food overall was pretty good. We did a Prix fix menu and it came with a salad, appetizer and entrée.

This is a fun lively loud perfect for a birthday get together. Never disappointed by the quality of the food. Really nice looking hostesses :-)

I love this place, they have a drink called the pinky swear that amazing, but my last time there i saw a rat inside the restaurant under the back left side long booth they have, everybody was as shocked as i was,but then again i guess accidentS happen??? I guess??? havent been back since

I came here for my birthday on a Saturday night. Yes, they had a dj who played the best songs old and new, we were dancing in our seats while we ate our meal. Please is a little too small but every place can't be a club. The staff were all attentive and very friendly. The bar is way too small, I think they have like 5 stools to sit on, but I understand the during happy hour, you can be seated at one of the tables. I strongly suggest you make a reservation on the weekend cause it gets crowded, we had a 8:30 reservation and by the time we left around midnight, people were still waiting to be seated. I will definetly be back . Oh yeah, don't order the surf and turf special, they seem not to know the difference between a lobster tail and the whole lobster ( which I do not eat and they brought us anyway and not what we ordered which was the tail). Also, the steak was tough like the other reviews state, but I was in such a good mood that when it was time to order I had a few strawberry patron magaritas (excellent) and i forgot i wasn't suppose to order that, but it was good not just what I am used to as far as a surf and turf go. The sampler is the best choice for appetizers, I never had an empanada so moist and delicious.

This WAS my absolute favorite restaurant. The food delicious, the host remembers who I am every time I come, and my drinks on point. Then I bragged so much and brought my fam and the waiter kept ignoring us and we had to watch him play around with the other waiters the entire time! Strike 1. I came again and after my meal the waiter said my credit card declined twice so I called my bank and they said it was never run so the Manager came to me and said “do I have everything straightened out?” I told him it was never ran and he just took my card ran it and brought it back. (No sorry, nothing) Strike 2…Now I gave it a break for 6 months and planed to go one more time solo because I’ve had a long week and wanted to treat myself, but the entire experience was a complete waist of my time. When I arrived 15 minutes before my reservation I had to wait (no problem, I’m early), but then other people started coming after me and the security was letting them in when I was clearly there first. When I was seated it took 10 minutes to even get a barcode menu. Then 10 minutes to order. My drink finally came but it was too late, I was over it! The waiter came to my table and apologized because he thought “I was waiting for someone”, but never asked me that. The table right next to me received their drinks, appetizers, and we’re almost done with their food before I even had my drink. Their the ones who said “I would just leave if I were you.” Great idea…I asked the waiter to just pack my food to go. He said ok and walked away. (No why or anything I can do or nothing). Then came back and asked did I want another drink??? No just the bill! As much as I LOVED. Ricardo’s…I won’t be back, and I’m a Concierge…I will be sharing my experience and not recommending the restaurant.

Food:Excellent Atmosphere:Excellent Went with friends to celebrate a birthday. An unexpected GEM! Good Music Too!

Great "scene"... Cool music... Huge menu w. options for everyone... Star sightings possible... neighborhood feel... delicious drinks (try the mango sangria)... Always a good time!

A live crowd. A bit crowded. Didn't like the fact that I was eating right next to someone not part of my party. It's very dark. Music is good but just too loud. Not a good place to go on a first date. Food was AMAZING!! however I learned after this that the restaurant has a C rating. They managed to hide the score hidden behind plants in front of the restaurant...not cool. I would definitely eat there again if they actually work on getting that score up b

The last stop on our rtw trip was nyc and after a fantastic time we spent our very last evening at R. This was the perfect decision, we loved it. First the drinks are very good, also the starters. Our filet was perfect and we also enjoyed a excellent bottle of wine. Good spirited ambience. We are looking forward to be dining there very soon!

I've only been to Ricardo's once before and it was super packed. It seems to always be busy for brunch. The food was great! I had the shrimp and grits. The unlimited bellinis are delish as well!

We took my mother in-law here for her birthday and she loved it. I hadn't been here in years and always loved their food and it did not disappoint. My husband and I got the porterhouse for two, which was cooked great and seasoned very well, the creamed spinach excellent. I didn't really care for the garlic shrimp, but overall everyone enjoyed their food. Very lively, fun atmosphere. Good drinks, the crash boat was very strong. Would definitely return!

On Friday March 3 I made a reservation for my fiancé and I to surprise him for his birthday dinner , the staff was amazing and helpful I was a bit late to my reservation and they were still able to seat me quickly Bc I was already reserved ! Top tryto always keep our reservation , restaurant volume is high due to the comfortable and unique atmosphere and delicious dining ! If you are looking for a spacious restaurant or have phobia of being to close to people I do not advise this deal house for you or perhaps maybe try a earlier time in the day Bc the size of the restaurant is a bit tight but still doesn't not take tale it amazing and awesomeness away ! The goodbye was cooked exactly right and gown ordered and the happy birthday ice cream for my fiancé and the Dj playing music was great and an amazing touch !

It’s not my first time at Ricardo’s but I absolutely love the ambience the food and of course the staff starting with the host Joahnna she is so pleasant every-time i go she makes sure the waiting process is smooth good tables always so attentive to the special event/ checking up I really love this place the food is soooo good I have recommend all my friends and coworkers thanks for your hospitality JOAHNNA I HOPE YOU SEE THIS YOU ARE AMAZING ❤️🔥

I was eating alone, so I thought take out was the simplest, but on getting to the restaurant such was the welcome I stayed! Had 'Da Chops' which were fantastic and a couple of great cocktails. Really fun place with great friendly staff!

We went for Sunday brunch for a birthday, and even though it was crowded, we got great service. First of all THE BREAD and dipping sauce is EVERYTHING! My Caesar salad was nice and creamy and the Tbone steak deliciously seasoned... the truffle fries were good. Our friend had the salmon and she said it was tasty too. We sat in the back garden area and it was a perfect setting to celebrate. Highly recommend!

Great food, tasty drinks, sexy atmosphere, outstanding service, hot music......what more could a girl ask for?

This is the place to be on Friday evenings. Food and drinks here are both outstanding and the music they play helps you to enjoy the vibe even more.prices are very reasonable and worth every cent. I highly recommend this restaurant whenever your in the city

Friday night… the place was packed. Hostess was very friendly. We decided to wait at bar and Ordered drinks. Once at bar we decided to just eat dinner at bar. It was entertaining just to watch the chefs prepare meals We ordered baked clams , bread basket, arugula salad, plantains, filet mignon dinner with mash potatoes. It was all slamming good ! No room for dessert.

We visited New York last year and found this fantastic restaurant. So knowing we were visiting again it was on our list to revisit. Sometimes you think something is great and you go back and realise it wasn’t as good as you thought it was. Well all I can say is The Ricardo Steak House lived up to my expectations and even exceeded them. The service was first class. The food was first class. The ambience was first class. I cannot fault anything at all. The cocktails are also on point. Our server Ario ( sorry if I spelt it wrong) was fantastic. The manager Emily came over and asked how everything was and realising we travelled from London took time out to thank us for our custom and sent over deserts . Once again first class . 18% gratuity was added to the bill and seriously in England it’s not a tipping culture but we tip if the service is great. I gave extra because it was exceptional service. Plus a big shout out to the DJ who gave us the great music . When we return to New York we will return to The Ricardo. If you are visiting NY don’t stick to the tourist areas . Get the subway to 2nd Avenue 110th St in East Harlem you won’t be disappointed.

I've eaten in a few great steakhouses in New York, The Striphouse near Union Square is still probably my No.1 but this comes mighty close - and it is about 30% cheaper. We had a bonelsee Rib Eye ($30) and a New York Strip ($28) both of which were seered to a perfect crisp on the outside and were melt in the mouth delicious inside. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed with some great 70s sould playing and the staff were friendly and clearly loved their jobs. So unlike so many other places that are geared up to suited and booted business types on expense accounts. This is a place where both the food and occassion are to be enjoyed. An easy cab ride from Midtown for superb food, great service and prices that are $10-15 cheaper than downtown - all of which we spent on Mohitos !

This place was over-priced and excessively noisy. The waiters seem to cover an area that is too big for them so service was slow. It was for a special occasion but it was disappointing, below standard of a place that is so expensive and certainly the ambience did not help. The music was so loud, it was hard to speak to the waiter or get anyone's attention. All in all, it wasn't worth the money or the time spent there. I was expecting good things but sadly it was all hype.

A few friends took me here for my birthday dinner while I was in town, and it did not disappoint!!! We arrived at approximately 7:30pm and had a very short wait. The drinks were strong and reasonably priced. We were provided with 2 rounds of complimentary shots (yay!). The lighting was low, but the ambiance was great! The music was good and the food even better. I ordered the 2nd Avenue Special, along with a side of yellow rice, and everything was seasoned very well and was very filling. After we ate, the staff brought out a birthday dessert and sang happy birthday to me. The wait for the bathroom was a little long, but other than that I really enjoyed the food and the vibe. Will definitely return again!

WOW! Came after being recommended by the flight attendant and so glad we did. Possibly one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Portions were huge an absolutely delicious. Even the bread they give to start is out of this world. the atmosphere was amazing too. I wouldn’t miss this place off any NY trip. A special thanks to the amazing manager who made our evening extra special!

looking for a restaurant without too much tourist, we found this restaurant very close to Hide Park in Harlem. You must come for the meat (excellent), the cocktail (The mojito pina is oustanding) and finally for the atmosphere and nice service. A bit expensive but really a true experience of NYC!

I attended a birthday party at Ricardo’s. There was a prefixed menu. Ricardo’s salad was awesome. The calamari was pretty good. My entree was unforgettable Ric’s Chicken dinner with sautéed mushrooms, mashed potatoes and veggies. However the mashed potatoes could use some salt or butter. The Service was excellent.

Had the rib eye and my wife ate the fettuccine Alfredo, both were fantastic. We were in the neighborhood for business and got recommended to eat at Ricardo's. It was a great experience, first and foremost the food was delicious, really fantastic steak. The atmosphere was great, music was spot on and the happy hour superb margaritas got me dancing in my seat.

We went to Ricardo's with high expectations and were not disappointed. The place is small but the food packs a mighty punch with the flavors, you will not find this quality food for a lesser price anywhere in NYC!

We went there for dinner just after landing in NYC. Service was good, staff is nice and meat is high quality. One suggestion: they could have a wider choice of beers, they are quite "ordinary" whereas other Latin restaurants in the neighbourhood offer a beer selection with more personality.

Sunday, Feb. 11, was my second time visiting this restaurant for dinner. I believe they usually require a reservation but both times we have been able to call walk in or call shortly before arrival and they have accommodated us with no problem. I love the ambiance and relaxed feel of the restaurant. The food is great. There is nothing like grooving in your chair to a hot beat while eating good food. I ordered the seafood platter and it was great. I have also had the salmon, which was also great. Romana was our server on this evening and she was phenomenal. She took very good care of my friend and I. When I return I will be asking to sit near the back and asking for Romana. I highly recommend this restaurant and make sure you ask for Romana.

I would like to comment on the food, but since I never saw a waiter that was willing to assist me, I can't. Picture it, 405pm, the place just opened. They have a guy outside the restaurant as if it's a nightclub asking why I was there. Wtf!?! Then after I was allowed to enter the place which was basically empty. More workers then customers, but the place just opened, so that makes sense. I get to my seat. I get excited by the myriad of drink choices. I decide on my drink and food. I even went to the bathroom. 20 minutes later, I try to get the attention of the 5 different people who apparently are enjoying looking at their feet. So, I left. I complained to the bouncer outside and got a shrug of his shoulders. Ricardos steakhouse may be good or even stellar cuisine but I for one will never know. And, if their horrible service continues for those people who come after me, they won't last. And, good riddance

Went here with other couples hoping to talk during dinner. Boy were we stymied. Place is VERY loud - dominated by what appear to be yuppie Latinos. Steaks, the specialty, were good cuts and plentiful. Medium rare order came medium. Wine list lacked several selections listed.

My friends & I LOVED this place!! The staff were friendly and attentive. Our waitress, Bridget was fantastic! Since it was our first time there, we all had meat entres. I had the mixed grill and the skirt steak was cooked just the way I ordered it, medium rare. The pork chop was tender & juicy, the pesto chicken breat was tender & flavorful & the chorizo sausage was outstanding! I had the clams casino as a starter & was glad that I did but I had a taste of my friends apps as well & the crab cake, beef stroganoff & portabella mushrooms were all great!! The warm chocolate cake with ice cream was heavenly & thank you for the complimentary lemon drops. P. S. The cucumber mojito & mint martinis were outstanding. I liked the ambiance and diversity of this restaurant as well & will be returning ASAP. I give it 4 forks in my book!

I've been here a couple for times for dinner with friends. This place gets busy! Great drinks and food, good service. Definitely good steaks. I will be back.

Excellent Food Choices...Excellent Food Preparation...Excellent Food...Excellent Music...Excellent Ambiance...Excellent Service...Excellent Drinks...Excellent Bartenders Who Serve The Drinks...Do You Get It Yet? If Not, Please See The Attached Picture!

This restaurant was great! The staff was wonderful and on point. It was steak and seafood and we loved it. Definitely will come back

So good, debating flying back to New York just to visit this place!! Stumbled on this place whilst living in New York temporarily, excellent venue and atmosphere. Amazing steak!!!!! Excellent mojitos too - a New York eating must!!!

An unplanned dinner in East Harlem. Walked passed this place and decided that it was way too cold to walk any further. Busy for a Monday night so reckoned the clientele knew what they were doing. We stuck to steak and sides and drinks. All tasty and filling. The waiter did bring my friend the wrong order - actually nothing like what he ordered - but as it was getting late he accepted it and enjoyed it. They could've offered a discount or a free drink, but they didn't. I'll forgive them this time. Would I go back if I am in the neighborhood? Absolutely. (oh it can get loud!!)

Ricardo's is our son's favorite steakhouse, so we go there every time we visit New York. This time we hosted him and his new wife and in-laws. The steaks here are good and are done as you order, and the prices are reasonable for New York ($28 for a filet and $9 for a glass of house wine). The downside of Ricardo's is the cheek-by-jowl seating, which is common in New York, and the loud music which sometimes makes conversation a chore. Our server, Eduardo, was very good, and when I inadvertently added a tip to our check, on which service was included, he came out to the street to get me to rectify an error I had made in his favor. He didn't have to do that, and I appreciated it.

We made a reservation for a Sunday night and were lucky to do so. The place was packed and very loud but it was my daughter's birthday and that is her kind of restaurant. The food was delicious. The steaks were perfect and the tiramisu was heavenly. The service was iffy. My son got his appetizer with his dinner. Those who ordered coffee had to wait for four trips of the waiter to get milk, sugar and spoons. There was no decaf. If you like a jumping place with great steaks this is for you.

Wife and I went out fir date night. Place was recommended by a coworker. Took drive up from Philly and the food did not disappoint. We got the Lamb chops and chicken marsala respectively. The marsala sauce was oh so good. Thus was definitely worth the drive and tolls 🤣! The whole vibe in the place was cool and chill. Had cocktails to go with dinner and they were also good (and reasonably priced). Had to grab a room because we were definitely not making it back home safely. Make a trip Uptown and check out Ricardo's!

We had brunch to celebrate my friend's 50th birthday. The food was excellent & the staff was very friendly & helpful. It's a steakhouse but I highly recommend the lamb chops. Next time I'm in NYC, I will definitely eat there again.

I've been to Ricardo's a few times and mostly with co-workers to release the weekday of work stress. This was a popular place for a lot of colleagues who are city workers when I used to work in the Bronx. I've sat at the bar a few times and sat for dinner and the service has always been cool. You can easily tell they know their regulars and tend to cater to them, especially at the bar where it can get packed. Now to the good stuff, the food is on point. Don't go to a steak house and order chicken you have to get the steak, even though I've had both. LOL their steaks are nicely seasoned and delicious without putting a huge dent in your wallet. The seats for dining are a bit close to each other but you should be too busy enjoying the food, drinks, company and ambiance. They play some good music and it also has that lounge feel. This is definitely a place to check out, you won't be disappointed.

This restaurant is lively and always filled with young vibrant New Yorkers! It has a lounge feeling with an amazing DJ, and the food is excellent! It is definately an experience that you don't want to pass up! The wait staff are friendly and tentitive to your needs!

What an amazing gem of a restaurant in the heart of east harlem. If you have the time to eat amazing food drinks, and the Dj is always playing the best hip and r and b. The bread that is provided at the start complimentary is the perfect consistency of crispy and soft chewy. And the flavor! I mean this is up there with how I feel about Red Lobster bread. The skirt steak a must have and the shrimps!!! Grab the sangria they have amazing flavors. I had three and they were all amazing! Tell management Mark Smith sent you for special service. They love me there!

Ricardo’s is always so much fun! Even with outside seating the vibe was still there my friends & I say by the speaker & jammed most of Saturday afternoon. We were told it was a 2 hour seating limit but we never felt rushed we kept eat & drinking no one bothered us our waiter was great!!

Food is very good here! Drink are strong and their Sangria is the best I've ever had. This a loud trendy place. Not a good spot for a quiet date night but awesome for a girls night out. Music is loud, the bar gets packed. If you want the great food but prefer a quieter atmosphere, I recommend trying their sister location just a few block up. Same quality food but better for a date night or less rowdy crowd.

I dined here, just recently, with film maker Alex Torres, just prior to the screening of his horror film, Darker, as pre-show dinner for the Viva Latino Film Festival down the street. The ribeye was spectacular, truly medium rare as requested: delightfully succulent in morsels of tender meat to be dipped, should you wish to so dip (as I often do), in steak sauce (which is offered). The restaurant is especially unique in that portions of the dining area are, while encased in exposed brick, outdoors. And even the fully enclosed area allows a view skywards as you dine. Truly: an excellent culinary experience.

Found this place on Yelp and we decided to go for our anniversary Dinner. The reviews looked great so we were super excited. Made reservations because of the reviews and I highly recommend you do so as well because there was quite a bit of people waiting to get a table and the front entrance was pretty packed. Luckily we only waited about 5 mins. It is pretty loud so not somewhere to go if you want a nice quiet dinner but we appreciated the lively atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and personable even though we didn't see him to often we never had to look for him he was always around when we needed something. The food was AMAZING! We started with the beef empandas which were on point, I had the special which had skirt steak and a grilled pork chop it was a huge portion for the price and worth every penny. Everything I ate was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Drinks were strong and tasty. We will definitely be returning.

Maybe the best atmosphere and service of any restaurant I've been to. Eat a filet while listening to Al Green! Prices are fair (for NYC) and only a short wait on Saturday night

Food was good but the place gets way too packed and music is so loud I had to scream nonstop. Not for me.

This place was jumping on a Saturday lunchtime - they have a $20 special for all the mimosa you can drink in 2 hours with your meal - great deal & the food is great. Best fries I've had in the US bar none. Great place, we'll be coming back.

I have been the biggest advocate for this restaurant since I first visited last year. Upon planning a family holiday outing, I called nearly a month and a half in advance to make a reservation. I was told to call back closer to the date, preferably 30 days prior which I did. I spoke to a young lady who proceeded to take my information (name, phone number, # of guest, etc.) she assured me that someone would be in touch with me to confirm. As I have family traveling to NYC for the holiday outing, I called back today to confirm as no one contacted me in a month! Upon calling today, the restaurant (Melissa - Booking Manager) proceeded to tell me that they are completing booked, sorry would you like to visit our sister restaurant. I'm sorry but "no" I wanted to visit your restaurant, the reason why I made the reservation a month in advance. How does a customer make a reservation with your restaurant and not hear back? The food is delicious, drinks superior, but their reservation system and staff taking reservations are substandard. I frequent many high end restaurants (Tao, Mr. Chow, Nobu, etc.) and really look forward to supporting up and coming places, but when things like this happens, it confirms that there are opportunities to provide better service! Disappointed...where is a person to take a party of eight on the Saturday before Christmas?

You can't go wrong. Had my wedding reception here, a few birthday party's and just solo dinner. The steak cuts are cooked to perfection! Nice ambience; nice attentive staff!

Food was really good. I had the skirt steak (churrasco), and my wife had filet mignon. Service was good and fast also cocktails were great.

Epitome of NYC noise. Just when the waiter--at your urgent request--turns down the blaring, obnoxious music, a DJ comes on the scene. When pretty full, conversations alone will drive you nuts. We couldn't wait to leave to enjoy actually listening to one another. Steakhouse? Really? Creamed spinach was a bit watery but tasty. The rib eye was about 1/4-inch thick. The NY strip was tasteless. Service was fine, when you could hear the waiter . . . and he could hear you. It's off the beaten path, but not worth a trek.

Came here for the Sunday brunch. Choices were varied and tasty. margaritas were excellent. Service was attentive and friendly. Great ambience with mostly local people

Came to town with my brother and his wife who'd never been to the city. Hubby and I wanted to show them "flava". It was our 1st time at Ricardo's..based off of local friends recommendations. Can I say, it was absolutely perfect! Terrific food, great atmosphere, perfect sangria, great prices...old school R&B playing and everyone singing along. Everytime I visit NY from here on out, I WILL be hitting up Ricardo's! (And the anniversary sundae they served us...with complimentary shots...was the icing on the cake!)

This was my first time going to Ricardos it was highly recommended. The atmosphere was very mature crowd .it more of a hang out music playing and just having a good time.. After 7pm it mature crowd only.. they actually have a DJ.. I got the rib eye steak which was out of this world.. the drink are on point and the waiters and waitress go out there way to please u .. I would definitely go back it a great place.. just make a res before u go it gets pretty crowded

I was at Ricardo steakhouse yesterday evening celebrating my uncle 60th B-Day. Very accommodating staff and food was great. The only thing I would have to down them for was there was no waiting area so you around the bar and tables where ppl are eating and that's not cool to feel crowded while waiting on your table. Another thing is the one unisex bathroom SMH like really. Otherwise had a great time they just need to expand for more space.

The chicken waffles meal was great. The meatballs dish was inedible, and covered in that cheap plastic cheese. Could have been a lot better.

Great food! Great customer service! If you’re on a date and looking to talk, may not be the place for you. A bit noisy between guests and music but I look forward to visiting again soon!

I'll start my review by saying this: All the reviews mentioning the loud music are absolutely right. But I can also say this about Ricardo. I've never had more fun at a steakhouse in my life. And with that said, the food doesn't take a backseat to the music and the atmosphere in the least. I'm in town enjoying an anniversary weekend with the Mrs. and we eat at some of the best steakhouses in Dallas. While this is not the ideal place for intimate conversation and romance, it is a fantastic place to enjoy some well seasoned food with excellent service. It starts with one of the best renditions of garlic bread I've ever had. Hot, fresh and you can taste the garlic and see the parsley. I would be surprised if anybody sends anything back to the kitchen because the food wasn't hot. Everything had steam coming from the plate. I had a ribeye and my wife had the lamb chops and we both left very happy. The ribeye had plenty of natural flavor and was cooked just right. And unlike many steakhouses, the sides that came with the means were more than enough to make for a satisfying meal. You can request side orders but you get plenty already. We also enjoyed two drinks (mojitos and sangria) and had flan for desert. And I can't say enough about the service, which was attentive and not at all pretentious. We thought about going to a traditional steakhouse like Keen's or Peter Luger's but I suspect this meal would rate just as high, provides a better value and is way more fun.

Food, drinks , service . Very good. We had the Porterhouse for 2 @ $84. A bargain considering the price of mid-town steakhouses. My only complaint, very loud music playing.

Once you've got past the heavies on the door who look at you as though you're pond slime and refuse to understand an English accent, then braved the noise (I'm a grumpy old man so what is noise to me may be music to you. I just turn my hearing aids off) - you get a superb meal with very friendly helpful service. If you ask for a steak medium rare in the UK it may arrive anywhere between completely uncooked to burned to a cinder, so it was a great pleasure to get one that was perfect.

I have been eating at Ricardo's for many. many years and always have a great time. From birthday's to engagement events, Ricardo's has been my "go to" place for fun, great music and great food. This birthday year was one for the books! When I had issues with my reservation, they were able to accommodate last minute and showed my family and I so much love. We had so much fun that we stayed until...they closed! The hospitality and service excellence was next level and I am grateful for it. Thank you Ricardo's!

We had dinner in Richardo Steak house East Harlem. Athmosphere was great, service was excellent and food was delicious. We really recommend this restaurant. http://www.ricardosteakhouse.com/

The food was yummy but the chef may have taken a nap between our first course and the main entree to explain the 30-40 minute wait!! Portions are generous. Dishes smell good and the presentation attractive. I recommend the flavored sangrias to start. Make sure to tell them to make them strong. My passion fruit sangria was so diluted that I couldn't tell there was passion fruit. That being said, the waiter was very kind and gracious and brought me a new one with no attitude and plenty passion fruit!!! The excellent toasted garlic buttery bread they serve you is enough to fill you up. Dishes we liked: their crab cake, Lamb chops, the strip steak and the flank steak with pork chop. Yellow rice with beans was great and the sweet plantains were oh so good!!! The place gets very crowded and loud but very friendly atmosphere. FYI. Their back patio is pretty covered and not an authentic patio with garden. All in all good experience though!

I went here three weeks ago with a group of girlfriends and we all have the best time over bellinis, mimosas and delicious food. We all had something different from the shrimp and grits and crab cakes to the steak and eggs (what I had) and there were no complaints. Even the garlic bread for the table is yummy. It's a great place to go for good food, great service all served in a fun environment that includes good music. I'm looking forward to going back.

After 3 years staying out of the US I have been craving a good American steak, and my expectations were fully met at Ricardo. A tasty, juicy steak at an unbeatable price for same quality. Arriving on a Saturday at 1 pm saved me from standing in line, as most table were available at that time.

Took my BFF here for his birthday and had an amazing time! Our waiter was very attentive and made wonderful suggestions for us to try! The drinks were awesome, (too bad it was midweek and I was driving so I had to limit to one)! The appetizers and the garlic bread were so delish that we ordered double. For dinner I had the T-bone steak, shrimp, whole lobster with garlic mash and garlic spinach (there was so much food on my plate I ate it for the next 3 days). The birthday boy had salmon with shrimp and mussels with garlic spinach...we were both satisfied with our meals. Very cool atmosphere and great music. I was surprised that it was also very family oriented for midweek dinner hours. Towards the end of the night I had them bring out a sundae for the birthday boy and they played Happy Birthday in the background and the patrons even joined in with the birthday wishes, which I thought was sooo cool! I enjoyed myself and will definitely be back...on the weekend:-) Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and ambience!!

Just ate at Ricardo's -from Philly but out in New York for New Years. It was awesome! The entire staff was super friendly and greeted us on the way in to the point that we felt like superstars! Food was really great and affordable. Thanks to George and staff!
Good steaks and good atmosphere for young people!
I've been there with my wife, my son (7 yo) and some friends in May. The surroundings in Harlem are not bad and the location is good. Soft lights and music! Ideal for an informal dinner with a group of friend. We have eaten in Ricardo's steakhouse twice in a week and I had the opportunity to taste a NY strip and a Filet Mignon. The two cuts were very good, perfectly cooked and not too much "Dressed" which is a characteristic I love. The service was good and the personnel was very attentive to our children. Quality/Price ratio was very good. If I had to find a fault, the music was too loud. I definitely recommend Ricardo's steakhouse for good dinner in harlem!
