Very casual and friendly stuff and good food are the distinguishing characteristics of this worth a visit restaurant. I had a great veal there and good range of wines is available. My wife enjoyed her salmon. Pasta dishes are also good. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere helps enjoying the meal.

perfect restaurant!! The food was delicious, the service was amazing! our waiter patrizio is the best waiter we have come across, and he made the whole experience extraordinary.

I recently came here with a large party of colleagues after a conference for dinner. We received the back room which was private and beautifully decorated for the holidays. The wine list was excellent and we all enjoyed great Cab Sauv all night using their recommendations (martinis were also great). The staff was incredible! The 2 gentlemen taking care of us were experts in wine and Italian food and were also funny and attentive. The food was spectacular! I had the fungi pasta and everything we ordered was shared and not a bad dish in the house (there were 12 of us). I don't live in SFO but I will be coming here again next time I visit.

Wonderful Dining Experience. My wife and I dined here on our first night in San Francisco. The meals were amazing, staff were awesome. A lovely evening.

Ate at this fantastic new Italain restaurant this evening. It was their opening night. Food and service was amazing. Authentic Roman Kitchen cuisine. Fabulous highly recommend everyone try this amazing new eatery.

The service was really personal and nice. The food was exceptional and authentic Italian. We had the calamari with zucchini and zucchini blossom for a starter, ravioli for primi and veal milanese for seconds. Everything was exceptional, the only tiny thing was some parts of the veal was a little dry. We had a complementary tiramisu that was a little bit different and more creamy and not the unctuous coffee taste that we personally like.

Found this little gem while on holidays in San Francisco. Such enthusiastic staff -passionate about the food and service they are providing. Food well presented and very tasty. This restaurant is a pleasure to visit.

When humans close their eyes, their other senses become more sensitive. I’ve eaten a lot of great meals, and know when I’m having one when I have the urge to close my eyes. Tonight, they were wired shut after each bite. The bartender coerced me into a red that paired incredibly well. This place is local 5 stars, not business or swanky 5 stars. All the waiters and bartenders are from Rome, and my service was definitely great.

Not reserved but welcome. We were very kindly received by Mukas and we felt very welcome. The menu is not very large but with special dishes. Delicious pastas and pizzas. The desserts were also delicious

I have eaten in many restaurants, also with stars. I have eaten in restaurants al over the world but never felt so welcome as in this restaurant. After a very busy day of site seeing with my family we ended at a golden gate viewing point to make the last pictures of the bridge. With google maps we looked for an restaurant nearby and we found a street with many options. From the outside it attracted us to come in. So after a groups decision we entered Roma Antica. Now our very positive experience started. Friendly host, really great quality food, everything fresh and really good Italian taste, great service. My son ordered Tagliata Manzo. When he was served he was a little disappointed because he thought he would get Tagliatelle with the steak. The host noticed the surprised face of my Son and ask if everything was ok, my Son explained, 10 minutes later our host arrived with an additional plate with Tagliatelle as extra service. We were with a family of 5 and ordered all 5 something different but it al arrived quickly. We all loved it. We did not ordered desert and ask for the bill but our host could not let us go before we tasted one of the deserts so he came back with a desert plate and 5 spoons, very nice. We really enjoyed this evening at Roma Antica. We are from Holland so costs are important too and I must say the bill was very okay also. Excellent Restaurant if you are a the Golden Gate Bridge put your navigation on 3242 Scott street and you will have a perfect end of the day. Maarten

As true Italians, my family and I came across this Italian restaurant, which has nothing to envy of our restaurants. We ordered and after a few minutes we were immediately able to taste our dishes, what can I say, everything was very good, from the quality of the products it really seemed like we were in Rome. I recommend the carbonara, really crazy.

We came early around 3pm and were given the dinner menu. Selection was good. Not a large menu, but it looks well thought out. The beetroot salad was very good, well prepared and very tasty. Carbonara was...... ummm not so good. Ox tail Raghu was a bit chewy, however the pasta was lovely and it all worked together very well. Service was great. Pricing was reasonable for a tourist area.

My fave Italian spot in the marina! The people who run the place are awesome and the food is so good. The amatriciana is my favorite. Highly recommend

With outside dining in full swing on a warm October night, this authentic Italian cafe served up delicious food, warm ambience and lively service. The night’s special pesto/spaghetti with burrata was truly special as was the Melanzane alla Parmigiana (eggplant). The wait staff were welcoming and attentive; while I thought one gregarious waiter was putting on a fake Italian accent, he informed me he was straight from Puglia. The outside dining area was set up with white table cloths, heaters and clear plastic walls blocking the street; after sunset and the evening cooled, we were able to move inside, appropriately COVID safety compliant, with doors open and tables spaced apart.

We had the best dinner here! We started with the caprese appetizer and delicious bread. My husband had the Boscaiola which he loved, and my daughter and I split the gnocchi with blush sauce, which was also great and quite large enough for two of us. Our waiter, Andy, provided great service with a good sense of humor. I will definitely be back, and will make a point to try a new espresso martini next time!

We found this place on a fluke ... my wife sprained her ankle & we wound up spending 2 - 3 hours at an Urgent Care place a block away. We searched for places nearby we could eat at & Roma Antica popped up & we are so happy it did! We had the Burrata Caprese (with prosciuto) ... fantastico! Then we split the Carbonara ... I think the best I've had anywhere, including Roma IT. The Carbonara was so rich we were stuffed so we didn't share a pizza as we had planned ... we'll do that when we return. Service was outstanding as was the food. Indoor & outdoor dining. On top of all that, they have very reasonable prices, especially for San Francisco, including their wine list.

Thank you Roberto and Dogukan for making my birthday dinner celebration a wonderful memory. It truly feels like having dinner at a family or friends home. Thank you.

While staying at the Chelsea Motor Inn in Cow Hollow, we needed a no fuss place for dinner at 6pm on a Thursday. We walked the short distance to Roma Antica. Knowing that it doesn’t take reservations, I was concerned we’d have to wait for a table. Fortunately, the place was empty and we were immediately seated. The service was prompt. My margherita pizza was huge and I shouldn’t have eaten the whole thing. The menu offers a full range of offerings from salads to hearty pasta dishes. We shared a decent bottle of Sauvignon blanc. The meal was great without being overly expensive. By the time we left, the place was packed as it should be.

I m German and I ve Been to Italy many times, so i can Tell that the food is really authentic and all the ingredients are, too. Everything was excellent! The food, the Flair, the Service, the value! I highly recommend to try the Cacio et Pepe! After Dinner we got a Tiramisu on the house. Go there! 100% recommendation! Thanks to Roma antica for a fabulous evening! Unbedingt ausprobieren wenn man in San Francisco Lust auf italienischen Essen hat(vor allem die hausgemachte Pasta) Auf der Speisekarte waren allerdings keine Pizzen, sondern die römische Variante: pinsa

Chose an outdoor table which was situated under heaters which made us enjoy our evening even more. Food was generous portion sizes and they were very accommodating with ingredient changes. We were provided with bread while we waited which was also delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful - highly recommended.

Great little neighborhood restaurant! All the staff speaks in Italian (always a good sign). We ate there a few times during our stay and it was always great. The staff is really friendly. The wine list is really nice too.

Average Italian restaurant. Not very impressed with the food served or the service. Surely better choices around

It has nothing original Italian, rather American with Italian recipes. Pure acidic red sauce without camera. The only Italian thing is the Mesonero, all Mexican, nothing to do with tiramisu. I'm not coming back. And the pasta is very hard.

Came in for late lunch during week. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Unique bread came with meal. Had the beet salad. They go with almonds instead of walnuts. The cut of beet was small cubes. Next was the ravioli dish. About eight large ravioli with some garnish in a white curled sauce. Sorry, the presentation wasn't inspiring. Couldn't finish dish just because of its looks. Full bar with Italian influenced wine list.

We stumbled upon this place by complete chance and it turned out to be so enjoyful. We were 6 and each one of us just loved what they have ordered: from different pastas to pizza and desserts, everything was delicious and the service was friendly and casual. I wish we lived closer...

The restaurant looks stylish, the staff is warm and friendly, the food & wine tastes great. Would love to go back there.

This is a very small, but cosy restaurant not far from the marina. We arrived shortly after the restaurant opened, so we had no trouble finding a table. I imagine it gets filled up quickly. Everything was great--the service, the ambience, and, of course, the food! Four of us shared Burrata Bruschetta, Insalata di Cesare, Diavola pizza, and a Brussel sprouts dish. Each dish was better than the one before. I had Cacio e Pepe for my main meal. It was heavenly, made with handmade tonnarelli. My only regret is that I didn't have room to try a dessert! The prices were very reasonable compared to most of the restaurants I have patronized in the San Francisco area. I will definitely return to Roma Antica on my next visit.

We discovered this restaurant by chance and wound up eating lunch there twice. Both meals were excellent. We sat outside - they have blankets in each chair in case you are chilly! It is a neighborhood place - The restaurant staff knew people by name who were walking by. Illa was so kind and welcoming to us. She made our second lunch there truly memorable.

I am out of the habit of writing reviews and rarely give 5 stars. This restaurant is the complete package. Ambiance, staff, food, wine, everything excellent. We just returned from Italy and we’re feeling bit of longing for Italy. This was it. I am not sure that I have ever had a completely experience of dining like this. Our waiter( all of them) appeared to be Italian and in love with their restaurant and serving their customers. We are return customers. Grazie mille!

Nicely remodeled, great staff, friendly and super efficient. Food is good a bit saltier than I’m used to but overall a great experience with tasty food and wonderful service.

Not only the staff is happy and welcoming but the food and atmosphere are great! We went out with a big group of people and we had a great time. The food is fresh and tasty and the portions huge. I highly recommend this place.

We got to this place by chance on Christmas Day for lunch while walking in the Golden Gate Bridge area and we had an authentic Italian food experience. The welcome was very good and even though the place was packed the guys set few tables outdoor, literally on the sidewalk so we enjoyed the lovely weather. We ordered the Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe which I strongly recommend and a Parmiggiana di Melanzane. My son has got a pizza which was also very good. Lastly the cold Prosecco and the atmosphere made this Christmas lunch really special.

Scott street off Lombard. Parking is impossible. Small little Trattoria, cramped tables. Just like Rome's best restaurants. Pasta, home-made, al dente' without asking. Moist, prepared perfectly. Bruschetta, grilled delightfully, topped with tomato or mushrooms. The young owners from Italy and Turkey are fabulous. Inexpensive menu and this place is filled with upward-heading millennials. . For some people, this restaurant will be their San Francisco favorite. Move over North Beach, make room for these two young men. Tourists visiting the Marina, mark this place!.

A great lunch with friends to share multiple selections from a great menu. In a fun neighborhood of the Marina, there are many shops along the way to enjoy before or after your delicious lunch. Can't wait to come back for dinner.

Lovely family style meal. The place has a wonderful atmosphere, decor and great staff. The pizza, pasta, and salads were great. Just go, you'll love it!

We had dinner here this week. While he place was packed, we had a very attentive person at the reception. We got a good table in 20minutes and had a great meal. This is a cozy place, had great food and is well managed.

Such a lovely restaurant! Amazing and extremely helpful staff. Fresh pasta was available and excellent wine recommendations from Katerina who was such an amazing waitress! Will definitely be returning when we come back to San Francisco!

Simple fantastic food this is one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We stopped for lunch I had the prosciutto pizza and tiramisu dessert. My wife had the mushroom ravioli and same dessert. It was all fresh ingredients cooked on the spot and was bloody lovely.

The restaurant opened last week and is a real treasure. Enthusiastic (think Italian) personel that could well explain to us, foreigners, the menu. We ate with our family of 4. Delicious dishes like nice grilled veggies that we shared, the skirt (beef) with potato pieces was excellent and pappadelle with ox tail ragu very tasty. The saltimbocca was good but little too salty for my partners' taste. Price-quality was fine, incl. 3 soda's and a beer about $ 110 incl. tax. We did not order wines, think that price per glass starting at $9 is pretty high. Would have appreciated some choice of lower priced wines on the menu. Bottomline: very good cuisine, absolutely recommended!

If you're tired of eating cheeseburgers and you're missing a bit of REAL Italy, you're in the right place! Bruschetta tossed with ham won me over

Perfect restaurant for homesick Europeans. Excellent food (the real thing, Italian style, primi e secondi, not just cliché Italian), Italian staff, delicious tiramisu, and real coffee. Like in Italy. Will be back.

After a long day we found this restaurant by chance. The menu out front looked good, so we gave it a try. And were more than happy 90 minutes later. The service was excellent, and the food delicious! If we ever come back to SF, this restaurant is a must!

We found this restaurant with our Trip Advisor nearby function on the app. We were looking for pasta, and hoping for authentic italian. We got that and more. The food was delicious, the service was warm and efficient, and our kids loved all of it. We would definitely recommend!

Excellent italian food , the real thing. Nice and welcoming Italian staff, The food is delicious and it is italian cuisine like in Italy . At the end of the meal they gave us the tiramisu as a surprize .

What an incredible find completely by luck today (Sat) as we went to watch the air show for Fleet Week. We were looking for a quick bite for lunch, and by chance came upon Roma Antica. Went in, and we're so glad we did. The service is really top, the food is fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable. I had a special pinsa - which is a Roman pizza. Really good. Will go there again.

This is our "go to" restaurant in San Francisco. We stumbled upon it in 2017 when we were evacuated due to the Sonoma fires and had to head to San Fran. We found a fairly dumpy hotel in the neighborhood and were feeling pretty sorry for ourselves. We went for a walk in the hood and found this place for lunch. What a great, great restaurant. Genuine, attentive waiters and real food to die for. We loved it so much that we went back for dinner, where there was a lively crowd and great atmosphere to go with the great food. A limited but totally satisfactory wine list (who needs more than 10 wines to choos from when all 10 are good?). Don't deny yourselves the opportunity to try this place. We go every time we are in San Francisco! Just went today!!

It’s almost 15 years that I live in US, I’m origin from Roma Italy. I grow up with Amatriciana e Carbonara pasta and trust me I never found in US the same taste. I went to “Roma Antica” with my family and when I got carbonara a said to my wife “me cojoni” that in Roman slang means “Wow” I really really suggest if you are in San Francisco, to go there . 5 stars stuff 5stars place 5 stars food And remember Guanciale is not Bacon ;)

After a round trip through CA, we were looking for a good Italian restaurant and were pleasantly surprised on the first evening - so pleasantly that we went back again on the second evening. Real Italian cuisine... recommended for anyone who is tired of burgers 😊

Homemade pasta, al dente. The amatriciana and the oxtail ragu were really good. Service came with the Italian charm. If you are looking for homemade pasta with serious sauces, this is the place.

Do you want to eat pasta in San Francisco as in Italy, this is the right place... amatriciana, carbonara, cheese and pepper really good.

Really good, proper Italian pizza and amazing chicken dish. Really authentic food, friendly staff . Reasonable time to get served . Clean restroom. We sat outside. Really nice Italian place we enjoyed as French people

This restaurant offers fresh Italian cuisine in the Marina district. Service by Alessio was charming and he guided us through the options in the menu. We started with the Suppli - fried rice balls - which were very good. The carbonara, which I ordered due to food envy from the night before, was okay but not as good. Another item we enjoyed was one of the specials of the day, a risotto with seafood. Finished the night off with Nonna's lemon and almond cake which was delicious and was served with homemade fresh whipped cream. Yum! Charming service and good food - would definitely recommend and visit again.

Pretty good Italian fare. I was a little disappointed in the eggplant Parmesan however as the eggplant was baked rather than breaded and sautéed. Still good but be advised.

We stumbled on this restaurant that just opened a week ago. Very friendly staff, all Italian. My daughter did not feel very well and they made a special dish just for her. Food was excellent with a nice wine. The menu is work in progress with new items to be expected in the next weeks. Location is just junction Chestnut street and Scott street, the Chestnut part where also other nice shops and restaurants are. I would eat here again to try out the other menu items.

Amazing food!! Delicious pasta’s and wine 🧡 We very happy having diner at this place, although the waiters were friendly, they served the bill very quickly.

I’ll keep it short. I’m a huge fan of Italian cuisine, specifically Roman and Tuscan. I’ve been to many great restaurants in Rome during several different trips, but THIS place has them all beat. Being a big fan of Saltimbocca, this place makes the BEST I’ve had! Same for the Cacio e Pepe....and the wines are outstanding. Whether you’re an Italian cuisine geek like me, or just plain like good food and exceptional ambience with a really cool wait staff, you’ll love this place. Not sure how they’ve done it, but without having the luxury of actual Italian ingredients grown in Italy- they’ve been able to put together truly authentic dishes!!!

I tried this place after reading many of the positive reviews. Nice small place off of Chestnut Street serves up some tasty Italian fare. The salads are large and can be shared. For lunch we tried the Porcini Ravioli, the meat ball sandwich and egg plant parmesan sandwich. The latter was huge and could be shared. The ravioli was large; tender pasta and nice cream sauce - not too rich. This is a little gem of a place with excellent service. Parking is difficult to find.

This a cozy, clean very friendly restaurant. The food was delicious. We had the minestrone soup, and I had the lasagna and my husband the ravioli. We enjoyed every bite. Service was great.

After all it’s my son’s week end! Starving after a decent drive from Santa Clara, he selected Roma Antica! Small and cute place near the water area. Ordered Meatball for Appetizer, Parma ham pizza, Carbonara pasta, this is truly delicious place of Italian restaurant! In the middle of Marina area and there are a few Italian restaurant but Roma Antica is fantastic! #Bravo

OMG!! Sadly, I didn't find this place until my last 2 days in San Francisco. Both nights were delivery. The porchetta was delicious and the best I've found since I left Rome. Had I found it earlier I would have been there nightly. Everything was so authentic and fresh. I so wish I would have been able to dine in rather than delivery but next time I know where I'm going first off.

What a great find. Superb atmosphere, brilliant service and the food is just fantastic. Gorgonzola and Pear pasta was just divine. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful food and great, easy going atmosphere. Absolutely amazing tastes. Service was friendly and made us feel very welcomed. You really need to go there!

On a recent California Road Trip we stayed at the Cow Hollow Inn (excellent) and nearby was this wonderful little Italian Restaurant offering delicious food at a reasonable price. Great location and staff, highly recommended!

This was our second visit there. Food is amazing and service is excellent. We shared beet salad and lasagna the last trip...serving size definitely enough for 2 people. Will look forward to going back on our next visit to San Francisco.

We found this restaurant in Caviar and it looked so good we ordered in. I would really look forward to actually going there. The food was fresh and delicious. I had Cacio de Pepe. It was so tasteful. The vegetables that came with the meatballs for the kids were al dents and so nicely seasoned that everyone ate every bite. Plan Togo there one night and will review the atmosphere. It sounds charming

The food is really excellent. Be sure to try their pizza. Very friendly service. The Pinot Grigio was very, very good at a reasonable price. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Absolutely excellent service! Wow 😳 With authentic Italian speaking staff Tried the Suppli. So good. Risotto awesome. Great ambience

What's not to like? Very attentive service, especially when you consider how busy it is. The calamari wasn't that great, but the zucchini mixed in with it certainly was. Very good gin & tonics. The salad with spinach, beets, and God knows what else was outstanding.

We had dinner we friend at the back room . 6 of us had a great time. We shared some appetizers, one of my favorites was “Burratino” , it’s made with fresh house made Burrata and fresh prosciutto di Parma .We had a house made pasta filled with short ribs and porcini mushroom pasta with truffle souse . My friends ordered Bronzino fish and loved it as well. We had 2 bottles of Italian red wine which was great. Service was very attentive but not intrusive. Overall we had a delusions expect this nice place.

Had a fantastic dinner here with the family. Food, wine and service all top notch! Our waiter was from Catania in Sicily and gave us some useful information - we’ll be there in June…😃

Stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant after a long walk from the Golden Gate Bridge. The food was excellent especially the gluten free pasta and the service was good. Lovely bottomless mimosa’s contributed to a lovely Christmas lunch !

We did not have reservations yet and they were crowded and were ,able to sit our family AND dog rapidly. The food and atmosphere were wonderful

Went here for lunch. Started off with octopus salad . Very tasty with tiny cubes of potato and delicious subtle dressing. Then had pinsa...Roman style pizza . Delicioso. Then Mary and I had pasta...caccio de Pepe and the Lasagna. The former tasty and simple and the latter very good and filling. Ended with the affogato and tiramisu and expressos. One of the best meals we have had comparable to what we have eaten in Italia. Definitely a foodie destination

Outstanding local Italian. Had aglio&olio&peperoncino from outside the menu. The atmosphere was cosy and the staff friendly. Will come again!

Today was our first time at Roma Antica. The place looked really nice. We ordered 2 starters and two main dishes. As dessert we had tiramisu (if you do your check in with yelp m, you get one for free). As complimentary they give you a basket of bread, in this case was focaccia, delicious with a bit of olive oil. From the two main starters, we need to highlight the bruschetta. The bread was freshly baked, the prosciutto was tasty and the burrata was deliciously creamy and with plenty of flavor. Everything was fresh, definitely we recommend a must to order. The calamari were not heavily fried, with an aioli sauce. Perhaps the sauce was too spicy to combine it with the calamari as you could barely taste the flavor of calamari. The two main dishes were tasty. The cacio e pepe was original, tasting to ground peper and pecorino cheese, nothing else. Pasta was freshly made and al dente! The pappardelle were also al dente, the meat had a smooth and soft taste (not tasting too much to tomato or meat), good balance. Finally but not least, the tiramisu, which was really good. You could taste the mascarpone and also a bit of coffee. Furthermore we want to mention that the prices were really European alike. Good price-quality for being in SF!

On my last night in San Francisco, I was really craving some Italian food. I scoured the internet and came up with this place. It had good reviews, so I figured I would give it a try. We showed up a little before 6:00pm and the place was nearly empty. We were promptly sat and our drink orders taken. My son was with me and this was the first place we had been to that actually had a kid's menu, so he was exited to order a plain cheese pizza. I ordered the Suppli as an appetizer and the Gnocci with a pesto sauce as my main course. The food was delicious. The cheese pizza was fresh and came out in the shape of a bear. The gnocchi was tender and the accompanying sauce was a perfect pairing. The wait staff was all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend eating here even if you are not in the area.

Took a chance on this place and scored a home run, the staff was courteous, knowledgeable and gave great dish/wine recommendations. I had the steak that was prepared expertly, seasoned to perfection and was paired with a delicious arugula salad and potatoes. My Girlfriend had the sausage and mushroom pasta dish which was also delicious and perfectly prepared and the flavors danced in your mouth. We can’t wait to come back to explore the menu.

Truly horrible food every time I’ve eaten here which has been three times now. They have a nice outdoor dining area with good service and they are open all day which is really nice so this place has some good elements to it. The problem is the food is absolutely terrible or at least the pasta with the tomato sauce is. Nobody who lives in the marina actually goes to this place because they know the food is bad. It is too bad because they do a lot of things well here in terms of atmosphere, etc..

Superb restaurant. Authentic food. A family deal. Absolutely recommended. Giuseppe a genius, and the rest of the team a 10

Amazing people and service!!! Run don’t walk to have a great Italian meal here!! The owner went out his way to make us feel welcome!!

The food was so good and the waiters where so kind! I would recommend this place if you love Italian food.

Some of the most authentic Italian food I’ve ever had. Place is small and had to wait for a table but it was worth it. Best amatriciana sauce I’ve ever had.

Great food and service. Authentic Roman spin on delicious favorites. Pastas are a standout. Sweetest folks running the place. Can't wait to go again!

I came to eat on January 14 I took the meatballs with sauce 13 dollars seems to me + taxes + tips .. at the end of my account I find myself 100 euros .. beautiful stuff you are really rascals and I have proof .. however never again be careful that you screw

We found this Italian place by chance as we were walking back to our hotel and were looking for somewhere nice to have our evening meal. We were warmly greeted, and offered a window table in the nicely decorated restaurant. All the staff were extremely pleasant, giving us time to peruse the menu, and offering recommendations. The food was delicious, and very filling! We decided against a dessert, as we were only going to have one because they looked so nice, not because we needed one, but one of the guys brought us a complementary piece of tiramisu anyway!! And we ate it...and it was lovely! The prices were very reasonable for such quality food. We hope these guys make a success of this place, they deserve every success. We would definitely recommend it.

I felt that I was in Italy, soooo good. Very traditional cook. We had lunch two times here during hour trip in this beautiful city. Very recommended.

Excellent restaurant with quality dishes. Beautiful dishes, a pleasant setting and great, attentive staff. Above all, don’t hesitate!!’

Wonderful small restaurant. Excellent service and great food—be forewarned, very generous-sized servings. Currently has both indoor and outdoor seating. All of the pasta dishes are delicious. We didn’t try any of the pizzas, but they looked amazing. Highly recommended.

We went in here for a meal after being disappointed by the service in another venue along the street. I’m so glad we ventured into Roma Antica instead, the waiting staff were friendly, efficient and polite and there was definitely a warm and friendly ambiance in the room. It was pretty much full and there was a good buzz, there were a couple of Italians seated next to us so I guess that’s a good sign. I needed a gluten free option and was pleased to find that most of the pasta dishes could be made gluten free. I chose Coda Alla Vaccinara, oxtail ragu with the gf pasta. The ragu was absolutely delicious with a beautiful authentic taste and the meat just melted in the mouth. My husband had a margarita pizza which he assured me was also tasty. I would recommend this for a friendly feast at a fairly reasonable price.

Bursting at the seams with animated diners this neighbourhood Italian restaurant offers some interesting dishes. The service is friendly and efficient but not a place to linger for a whole evening as one can't book and some pressure to turn tables around but we visited on a Saturday so possibly less frenetic on weekdays. We'd be happy to revisit.

Everything was great! Beautiful space though a little cramped, but everything coming out of the kitchen was delish, especially the cacio e pepe, pinsa, and fried yummy bits that aren’t arrancini but are similar. Close your eyes and it sounds and tastes like the old country. Yum!

We just happened to be passing by at lunchtime and were looking for a decent, tasty Italian meal. We were not disappointed. My schattechi was perfect in terms of its taste and presentation. The menu range is extensive and the three of us enjoyed a variety of quality, authentic and tasty meals. Each meal was individually and freshky prepared. The service too was faultless and timely. The staff were friendly and attentive and were treated as valued customers. We felt special. It's unlikely that we will be back in San Francisco for some time....which is a shame, for if we were we would most certainly pay a visit to this restaurant again. Highly recommended.

Stopped in here while exploring San Fran, and it was worth the wander. Had the bruschetta, lasagna, and carbonara, and everything was excellent. The lasagna was simple, flavorful, and filling. The carbonara was light, yet filling, and you could taste the freshness of the cheese. Also their wine is fantastic. I recommend the rose, as well as the prosecco. Parking can be a challenge, so make plenty of time when you go.

Freshly prepared home made pastas and pizzas Delicious food served in great size portions and fear price. Friendly service and nice atmosphere. Definitely will be back for more pasta

We always stay in the Marina District when in SF and had passed by this restaurant in our comings and goings but not taken the opportunity to eat here until recently when we decided to celebrate a birthday dinner. Having just returned from a week in Rome and still craving Italian food -- we couldn't have been happier that we did... as it will now be our first choice of go-to places to eat when in the City. The menu is fairly extensive in terms of categories and options that one would expect in a authentic Italian eatery both in the US and in Italy. Be sure to ask what the specials are in the event you are not informed by staff as they definitely looked to worth considering. Anticipate that prices here are in the moderate range -- but two people can easily eat for under $60.If available, the potato-leek soup (which was the zuppa del giorno) was probably the best version we have ever eaten -- flavorful and creamy -- and served hot. Two appetizers -- the calamari fritti with a lightly spicy roumalade for dipping and the suppli (deep fried rice balls stuffed with cheese) which were perfection and came to the table hot with the center oozing. The menu notes that all of the pastas are served al dente -- so if this is not your preference make note to the server to extend the cooking time for you -- and I note this because even the gnocchi came out bathed in a great cream sauce and had a notable "chew" , which was perfectly fine for us because the flavor was spot-on. The Veal Saltimbocca was excellently prepared and presented with the meat tender, the proscuitto and sage on top dressed in a seriously tasty pan sauce. I shamelessly admit I ate every bite. We shared a side of garlic-sauteed broccolini -- easily enough for two people; and closed out with the tiramisu and the Torta Della Nonna (Grandma's cake) which was a killer moist slab of lemon cake that was over-the-top with flavor and richness -- before we called for and paid our check and waddled way totally satiated.I recommend that you give Roma Antica a try and you -- like us -- will probably become return customers.

Great atmosphere, food (the pizza is really good), wine and service. Cozy little place. They don't take reservations unfortunately.
Warm and friendly
We stepped our of the rain into the warmth of this wonderful restaurant. We had pizza, bruschetta and calamari. Everything was delicious, cooked to perfection and the wine selected for me was delicious. The staff make this place a very popular local destination. Friendly, energetic and so helpful. We loved our early dinner so much we came back for a drink. The hot chocolate is the beat my 14 year old has ever had.
