I am Italian and I can assure you the food it is wonderful‼️ I had a few wonderful appetizer, incredible pasta and a heavenly tiramisu all served with champagne. My waitress was Italian , Carolina, and she was very nice and gave us a little gift from the south of Italy 🇮🇹 We’ll be back for sure

The prezzo fisso lunch was extraordinary - the pastas, burrata and suppli ai telefono tasted true to its Roman heritage. Charming intimate restaurant and service, every table was booked for lunch, worth making a reservation ahead of time to avoid disappointment.

For those looking for a real Italian place in New York this is the right place!!! Not only in Rome but also in New York Roscioli are confirmed as a certainty

Service, burrata and wine all good but we also ate 2 pasta meals, carbonara and a beef shin. Both very salty which left us with a disappointing taste in our mouths. Need to get their seasoning sorted for it to be worth all the hype. Also most customers kept their coats on as the restaurant was a bit on the chilly side.

We'd give it a 7 out of 10. Food was good but hot food not served hot. Servers were pleasant and knowledgeable but service was slow. Standard pairing wine was mediocre. Place is too noisy for a good conversation. And way to expensive for what we got.

What better place than Roscioli for my Mom to meet my girlfriend's family... Okay yeah this probably too deep for Yelp I hear you, I'll keep this professional. Our group of 7 entered Roscioli and seemingly entered a wormhole that bent time and space into a family run restaurant in the heart of Rome. This was great and all, but my deepest darkest secret is that I don't really like Rome that much, so I was a little skeptical. As I was looking at the menu, I began to hear a knife clink on a wine glass to my left. *clink* *clink* *clink* We had just come from the Spaniard so I was pretty rocked and thought I was hearing things, but the whole restaurant got quiet and the owner(?) was there with a big smile on his face and began to speak in his strong Italian accent. He was giving a whole history on Roscioli, how long it took them to feel ready to open a restaurant outside of Rome, and how excited they are to create a restaurant that is uniquely Roman with an NY twist. After this speech, we were all BUZZING. The whole place was really. Like damn this is awesome, we really are in a family run restaurant right now. They had also brought a person from Rome who makes their own wine, so we started with a bottle of that and it was some of the best wine I've had. Maybe even better than my beloved Chianti Classico. I wish I could remember what it was, but the Spaniard was getting its revenge. For food we ordered family style and went with the Burrata, Focaccia w Mortadella, Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana, Sardinian Fregola with Oxtail, and I think a few other things but the red wine had the wheel at this point. Everything was DELICIOUS and a truly A1 experience... I see some reviews talking about the pasta being undercooked but it literally says "our pasta is cooked 'Al Dente'"... YOUVE NEVER BEEN TO ROME AND IT SHOWS SMH! To my surprise, my favorite was the Sardinian Fregola with Oxtail. It was like a way better couscous. Super Saiyan couscous. It was doused in a delicious red sauce with ample oxtail and short rib scattered throughout... took everything in me to not hijack that bowl and eat it like a bulldog eating a bowl of chili. The only thing I would say is I did leave hungry, but I think that's just more me having a bottomless pit of a stomach than anything about these portion sizes. Although I would categorize them as Shmedium (btwn small & medium). With big open windows looking onto the iconic Macdougal street to my right, a glass of red in my left hand, my beautiful girlfriend across the table, the couscous of the gods in front of me, and my dearest mother just down the table, I was at peace in here. Fabulous dinner upstairs at the ala carte bistro type set up of this daughter of a favorite restaurant of ours in Rome. Everything on the menu looked so interesting, we had a hard time deciding but ended up enjoying the Caponata Siciliana, the Salumi & cheese plate , served with a basket of delicious breads, next their house classic , pasta Al burro e Parmigiano, a simple but hard to pull off dish of al dente pasta with a creamy sauce of butter & Parmesan. Perfectly done. Closed the meal with a blood orange gelato accompanied by a chocolate biscotti. Everything was perfection. Small room, tables close together, great service by one of the best waitresses we’ve had in New York, Caroline. We go to lots of Italian restaurants in the US & Italy and this was among our best meals.

I will try to go into details. Upon arrival, there was no hostess. A waitress finally showed. We were seated in tiny table (thanks god the use an auxiliary table at a later time) I ordered sparkling water and they brought filtered water since they do not offer mineral waters Big minus I ordered an aperol spritz, they do not offer any cocktail at all Second minus I requested moscato or prosecco wine They do not have any. Only a sparkling Rosé wine, Third minus. We ordered Prosciutto with gnocco frito and a mortadella sandwich as an appetizer, and both were ok. We ordered carbonara pasta and amatriciana pasta. My friend got his pasta first, and about five minutes later, I got mine (another minus). Both dishes should arrive at the same time in such a small place. My pasta was not hot, and my friend's pasta was not even al dente, but with a white line and chewy part made it impossible to eat. We sent them back after talking to a nice female who was acting as ma manager. We got our new dishes after about ten minutes, but both arrived the same, not hot and uncooked. My friend, an old Italian chef, saw that the cook (a big female) was laughing when we returned the mess for a second time The manager did not charge us for the appetizer as a good gesture since they ruined our lunch. They have a very short menu, and each dish should be perfectly executed.

Where do I start? This was a tasting menu so I expected a special meal. This was a major disappointment. The risotto was bland. The pasta for the Carbanara was more doughy than I like, but the final straw was the veal saltimbocca. This should be Veal Cutlets With Prosciutto and Sage. There was no prosciutto, the meat was tough. The wait staff were personable and efficient. However, the acoustics are terrible. There are no sound absorbing features of the restaurant so it at times can be difficult to hear the companion sitting across from you. I do not plan to return.

Amazing place, food and vibe. Tasting menu is mind blowing. Good selection of wine and nice and professional staff. Highly recommended

I have eaten at the Roscioli Salumeria in Rome many times, I was curious how the New York City version would compare. The answer? Just as good, different menu but still offering the four classic Roman pastas as primi piattis and many other great plates. Our group of three had a fabulous radicchio salad, a fabulous burrata and sun dried tomato appetizer and a marvelous cantaloupe - with a sweetness I have never experienced before - with prosciutto. We ordered three of those pastas, plus a house special pasta, the cacio e pepe the best I have ever had in the States. Finished it off with what the server described, accurately, as a life changing tiramisu. I am not a shill - I am a harsh critic of American prepared Italian dishes - this is the best Italian meal I have ever had in the US.

We’ve been to the original one in Rome and finally were able to finally get reservations for both the a la carte and the tasting menu on different days. The tasting menu experience I would rate as 4 stars mainly because of the course selections which I found was lacking in variety in terms of taste. Amatriciana, risotto and braised beef with polenta together was too much starch in a tasting menu. Would have been better to have a salad or a vegetable dish instead of the risotto. Of the 5 courses, only 3 were standouts (burrata, amatriciana and tiramisu). I am a purist when it comes to raw tuna and it is no surprise I did not like the crudo supplement, topped with some kind of vinaigrette. I do not drink alcohol but my family said the wine pours were really good although heavily on the red side because of the course selections. Price of the tasting menu was fair and I plan to go back to check out a different menu in a different season. The a la carte experience was definitely 5 stars because we had a choice of what to order. We had the burrata, radicchio salad, amatriciana, carbonara, porchetta and tiramisu. Everything was fantastic. I would highly recommend these selections although be aware that I like my pasta al dente and emulsified. Special mention to the porchetta which had crispy skin while being tender and flavorful on the inside. Ambiance was casual and informal and service was on point. Because the place is tiny, the tables are very close to each other and fitting all the orders in the tiny table was a challenge. If there is one tiny niggle, the music was very loud and the playlist could be improved. Having said that, I would put up with bad acoustics if the food is as good as this one.

We passed this restaurant by chance and there was a nice smell, we decided to stop and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is very nice and the dishes were excellent. We had a carbonara and it was a real carbonara! Everything was excellent, I recommend 100%

Had a fabulous evening at this new outpost of one of faves in Rome. Food was delicious, service friendly and professional and ambience warm and inviting. Had the tasting menu- was terrific. In addition to each dish’s being lip smacking good, was also portioned appropriately so we left feeling more than sated but not stuffed. The wine pairings were interesting and a good way to try some lesser known wines. Grazie mille, Roscioli.

A Big Disappoint. The food was so su- par. it isn't even funny. We had 3 dishes, and all were not tasty at all. And it's kind of unbelievable that the Roman Pasta dishes were so mediocre. Neither the Pasta Amatriciana, nor the Cacio Pepe were both disappointing, and didn't have much flavor at all. What ? Couldn't believe it !!! ??? A Shocker that the food was "So-o," with all the hype, and difficulty getting reservations. So not worth All the Trouble !!! The good points of the place was the ambiance, they played Great Music, the Wine was Good, as was the Service, but the Food ? Not very good at all, and majorly disappointing. Basta !!!

The food is nice good quality, nice location. Chef and the guys work in kitchen amazing, but the service at the table not good. Il cibo favoloso ragazzi in cucina bravi i camerieri scazzati e non gentili questo è il riassunto della nostra cena.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. Although it is not large, the tables are reasonably well spaced so you can enjoy a conversation. The ambience is casual: walls are lined with varieties of olive oil, and Italian delicacies. We could see into the kitchen where the pasta chef was working with his team. But it was the amazing quality of food, wine and service that made our night memorable. From the list of antipasti we started with a generous serve of lamb tartare, drizzled with an artichoke aoli with capers providing an acidic balance. . We shared four pasta dishes and each was spectacular: the classic Roman cacio e pepe with al dente house-made spaghetti, tortello pillows stuffed with roasted chicken, Sardinian fregola sitting in a rich soupy ragu of oxtail, short rib and pecorino (possibly our favourite). and a creamy lemon risotto. Although not on the menu we asked if the chef could make us a salad and were delighted with a plate of well-dressed pretty pink and red radiccho leaves. The wine list is predominantly Italian, and with the help of the knowledgeable sommellier we ordered a wonderful 2013 Benanti rovittello (Etna Rosso), that perfectly suited our meal and was well priced. What we enjoyed about the service was that we had a single waiter who was friendly and professional.

we ordered the burrata zon zucchini ... nothing special le alice con burro e pane ... very good but the disappointment were the two pastas la carbona was ...blah terrible (tasteless and salty,) l'amatriciana .... average (sauce was good but the guanciale was totally crispy) Service was good although the host was unfriendly and nasty save your money and go to the original in Rome, the difference is ....

Surprised… service slight… even tho staff walking around. Salad overdressed . Carbonara…pork so hard and overcooked could not eat. Wine choice mediocre. So so surprised after all the hype.

We made a reservation on the recommendation of a friend who ate at their Rome location. Service was attentive and friendly, although I was surprised by our waiter’s lack of knowledge about simple menu questions (such as what is this app - two Italian words with no explanation. He didn’t Know. And what is the flavor of this soda. Same as other situation. Didn’t know). Radicchio salad, Italian sodas and burrata and sun dried tomatoes along With bread were all sublime. Special. Yummy. The pastas, however, were inedible (carbonara and gricia) were so over salted as to be literally inedible. We nibbled at the carbonara, which was slightly less over salted. The chef via the waiter said we must just not like the flavor of the guanciale (pig cheek). Nope. We don’t like the flavor of wildly over salted food. The pasta texture was fine. And they comped both of our pastas without attitude (appreciated) but why not just admit a mistake? Anyhow, based on other experiences I’d give them another try for sure.

Oh my goodness... first night of our trip and dinner was fantastic. We chose the a la carte menu (vs. the tasting which takes place downstairs). We got there early and sat at the tiny bar chatting with the staff. Every one we spoke to was happy and friendly. Everything on the menu sounded terrific, so we shared a few small plates and then had a cheese plate for dessert while finishing our wine. This restaurant was recommended to me by a friend who was born in Italy, boy were we glad that we listened to her!

3.5. We’ve been to the Roscioli Antico Forno and Salumerias a couple times in Rome, and have been wine club members for a couple years, so we were definitely coming in with high expectations. Unfortunately, I think this new location is still working out a few kinks. The food quality was good overall, but one dish was a miss and the pacing resulted in us eating lukewarm pasta. Our waitress asked that we order all at once so she could pace out the meal appropriately. The supplì were fantastic, hot and crunchy, and the buratta was delicious. Then, as a table, we had ordered a few pastas to split, and a secondi of the polpette to share. The pastas and polpette arrived all at the same time, immediately following the appetizers, and by the time we had a chance to pour some wine, dish out the pastas, and take the first bites, they were luke warm. The flavor of the amatriciana was spot on, the carbonara was really delicious, but the cacio e pepe was a bit dry and lacking in flavor. The polpette on polenta was spectacular. that and the amatriciana were the highlight of the evening. Dessert was pushed as soon as we finished, but the waitress agreed to give us a few minutes to let the food settle before we ordered. Tiramisu was great! All in all, we’d definitely go back, but just ask to pace the meal ourselves and we’d skip the cacio e pepe.

After a few days in New York we felt the need for flavors of home ... they recommended this restaurant and with all sincerity we must say that my family and our friends were ecstatic by the quality of the raw materials the kindness of the staff led by a great Mattia ... Cozy location warm and cared for, a wine cellar of all respect. We opted for a tasting menu in which the ingredients and typical Italian dishes were enhanced buttata, oil, crushed bread and mortadella, lasagna, carbonara, porchetta, parmesan and desserts all combined with excellent wines. Excellent and impeccable gluten free service that made living the same experience without "discomfort". We highly recommend anyone to be able to live our experience. Thanks to all the staff.
Delvious food, warm and friendly service
We read about this newly opened Rone famous restaurant and immefiately tried for a reservation. It took awhile to nail a reservation, but it was worth the wait. The delicious aromas hit us the moment we entered the tiny but efficient open space layout. We had small plates as well as pastas and rissoto. Menu is curated and selective and based on a cured meat and apoetizer focus. It was the friendly wait staff (BEE) that sold us and the complimentary cheese platteRMr and apertifs that made us feel special. Will return soon!
