God forbid I trip on my boots again

By Shauna M |

Was denied a gf beer because I tripped on my boots. Will never recommend to anyone. There are so many bars around. Do not come here. Disrespectful and rude staff. I wish I never came here to begin with.

Easy to grab between trains.

By dfbf |

I am far from an expert on NYC pizza to tell whether this is very good or just average. I had the Sicilian style, which was good and reasonably priced. You can carry it to your train or eat in the seats behind and below the counter.

Worst Pizza Ever

By Secatogue |

Billed as the best pizza in NY. While waiting for a train, I had a slice of broccoli and chicken that I couldn't even finish. It tasted like it had been sitting there for days. My husband had a plain slice and agreed mine was even worse than his. Don't get this site confused with the one in Herald Square. This is at Penn Station. Never again!!!!!

Yiou want good pizza then you'd better come to NYC!

By Ron S |

I have eaten pizza all over the world and the USA. THERE is NO pizza better than what one gets in NYC! This place is located in Penn Station, LIRR concourse. MUCH better pizza by slice or whole pie than on the streets! Toppings? anything from plain cheese to load it up and the slices are fresh and ready to go. Suggestion, tell the clerk you want it warmed in the oven to be sure. Then the drinks. Pick a beer! Cans, bottles, on tap! varieties galore! Plenty of tables in the back area. Great for a quick "snack" or a full meal

AMAZING PIZZA!

By Merlot D |

For train station pizza, it doesn't get any better than this! They have about 12 or 14 different types of pizza to choose from and they reheat it for you in the oven. Perfectly crispy crust, and great topping options. They have a nice area where you can sit down to eat as well. Great for a quick lunch on the go!!

Great pizza selections

By MyMauiBoston |

Running through Penn Station in the morning and saw pizza dough being tossed artfully very high and very thin. By the afternoon I was ready to try a slice, and I was not disappointed. It is not Lombardi's, but it is very good and satisfying. Sat in the back but not much was going on as it was too early for the post theatre and sports crowd. I will be back. HUGE choice. I enjoyed a broccoli & chicken slice. Salads are available, as are beers on tap. YUM!

Train your employees how to treat people

By Luis L |

I used to be a loyal customer, this morning just enter, when straight to the bathroom; and one Muslim clerk start screaming.. hey hey, quoted you have to be a customer. Apparently they don’t know anything about service, and his manners are unacceptable.

This is absolutely the BEST pizza ever had!!!

By MissX W |

I have been in hundreds of cities, and their pizza is so good, I remember it years later and compare it to others. Hugest slices, so big they are heavy to hold! Lasted me two days one slice. Was there 2019.

New York Pizza

By Mike D |

Fresh pizza- they sell a lot! Incredible variety. I don't think you can go wrong. Convenient while waiting for you train. A great NY experience.

Pizza hit the spot after a long cold game in Meadowlands Stadium

By RickandDanaTrippin |

After attending a freezing cold, Giants- Cowboys football game we returned to the city cold and tired. We were visiting so we needed to find something to eat - but after an exhausting day … but happy, Cowboys won (Go Cowboys) we could not take walking the streets looking for something to eat so we just walked in to Roses Pizza and Pasta at Penn Station. The beer got us in, a surprisingly good selection, and the pizza was great, really great. If you're in Penn Station running between the city sites and want a quick bite that is excellent as you transfer to another subway line stop in at Roses Pizza. it's near the redline.

My best place to eat

By Jasmine A |

Nice place to eat and very great pizza near train station is not the price but the friendly place to eat

Good, Quick late night pizza

By Britton C |

Awesome, quick late night pizza. Friendly staff and reasonably priced. Pizza was mostly thin crust when I was there which I like. When all else is closed, you can count on Rose's to be open and it's good too!

Good Pizza

By RRS621 |

While waiting for our train, we decided to have some pizzas. Glad they have mushroom pizza, my fave. We all liked what we ordered.

One of the best pizza joints in the city

By Jason J |

I love pizza, all styles, all cultural adaptations. Rose pizza in Penn Station is a must if you like pizza. I've been here several times on business and family trips. I've brought multiple people through, with different backgrounds and up-brings, and they all attest that it's great pizza. Staff is super friendly, the atmosphere usually has sports on and a nice tucked away spot in the back to eat. On most of their pizzas, they bake a garlic crust on the bottom, which only enhances the flavors in your mouth. If you've got time and are in the MSG/MidTown area, stop in.

Thief's

By Michael L |

Stop everyday for a bottle of water 2.50. Today wanted to charge me $4.75. Told me the price went up. Guy just made up the price. When I confronted him he just gave me back my money. NEVER AGAIN

OK pizza

By HelloWorld! |

Pizza is ok, just an average New York pizza. Place is relatively clean. Pricing is not as advertised, beware! When I pointed this out, they shrugged.

Outstanding Pizza

By Iggzy |

Stopped here for lunch before getting on the Amtrak train. Wow. This is good pizza. We had the pepperoni stromboli, and pepperoni, buffalo chicken and eggplant parmesan slices. Despite the fact that they were pre-made slices, the pizza was fresh as can be, with a nice crispy crust and plenty of flavor. I don't know how people rank pizza in N.Y. This place gets high marks for its pizza and is convenient for train travelers. The atmosphere is unremarkable--kind of like all the pizza by the slice places in Manhattan.

This was the most embarrassing moment. An employee of Rose Pizza hassled me and provoked me before I made a purchase.

By milbin n |

During my visit to Rose Pizza Place this afternoon, I encountered a troubling experience. There was a line, so I quickly stopped at the bathroom. To my surprise, a male employee followed me to the toilet from the cash register, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable as a female customer. His behavior was embarrassing and unprofessional, especially since other customers witnessed the situation. Upon reaching the bathroom, he informed me that customers needed to purchase using the facilities. I found this demand unnecessary, and I expressed my intention to purchase. I pointed out that it was common for people to prioritize using the bathroom first before deciding to buy something. I would have understood if he had requested after I had used the bathroom, but his approach was unwarranted and not humorous in any way. Additionally, there were no signs on the bathroom door specifying that it was for customers only. Subsequently, some other customers approached me, disapproving of the employee's behavior. It was extremely disappointing that he did not offer an apology. I even contemplated reporting the incident to the authorities for harassment, considering that his actions felt like he was chasing me to the bathroom. I am considering contacting the management or the corporate office to address this matter. My concerns are not only due to being a female customer subjected to such treatment but also because I have a medical condition that requires urgent access to restroom facilities. I have proof of my visit through the receipt, and I believe that the security cameras may have recorded the entire incident. . I want to make sure all the viewers remember this. "I wholeheartedly agree with Luis's point of view, which I am reposting here to confirm that Luis. L is right; this place needs a new manager to improve the service. It's in serious need of intervention. If every one of us reports this behavior, the employees, particularly George, will not be able to get away with it." this kind of behavior where we scan our money should not be tolerated. This is discriminatory to everyone who knows the feeling of having a medical emergency and being again harassed and provoked. I deeply appreciate the support of this place's long-time customers who intervene. I want to escalate this complaint to upper management with your assistance.

Amazing pizza at Rose's

By JenC |

Such good pizza here. Cheap, tasty, great service. Open all hours too. Located inside Penn station on 34th street and 8th Ave. super convenient

Best pizza I’ve ever had

By enirehtac97 |

Visited here over a year ago but only just discovered it on here. Had pizza here one night as it was close to our hotel and had to try while in America. This pizza was the best I’ve ever had it was delicious way better than what you get in the UK, if I’m ever back in NYC I will return.

Xmas trip

By Paul M |

This review is to just warn people so they dont make the same mistake we made . We are from ct and have excellent pizza as most of the country knows so thinking nyc will have some of the same, but run away from this place simple mushroom and onion pie was disgusting! Just say no

Quick Bite

By Twolittlelores |

I'm something of a pizza snob. Not because it's my favorite food, but because, dare I say it, I'm not a huge pizza fan. So for me to really enjoy a slice of pizza, it has to be REALLY good. I have never been disappointed by the pizza at at Roses. Honestly, it's hard to beat the price and quality of the pizza. The slices are huge! My favorite are the veggie slices, especially the mushroom spinach. (Heavy on the crushed red pepper.)

Pizza was good

By Jack |

Pizza was great. Unfortunately they don’t serve tap water, so I had to buy bottled water. Other than that, everything was great and I recommend.

Always hits the spot.

By FamOfFourTravelers |

A good slice of pizza in the right place at the right time. Whether its starting off your night or capping off your day, rose's hits the spot. Its not the best pizza you will ever have but it is a representative NYC pizza and they sell alcohol which is a nice either at the start of your commute home or as a night cap on your way home. Its not the cleanest place but that is also part of its charm. If you go through Penn and you have time and you are hungry and thirsty and don't want to spend out the wazoo then rose's is the place to stop.

Best Pizza!

By mommy2x |

10:00 pm on a Monday night and the pizza was fantastic. Probably the best slice that's I've had. Customer service was fine. Slices were warmed and packaged to go.

Great Pizza!

By Mark-n-Holly-Ferraro |

Stopped for a quick bite before attending a Neil Diamond concert at the Garden. They had such a great variety of pizzas' and their system of ordering and moving through the line gave you your choice of a nice hot slice of pizza at the end. We had the pepperoni and sausage, and the white pizza but the best was grandma's pizza. You wouldn't think that you could get a great slice of pizza in a train station but I plan on stopping there every time I'm in Penn Station for a quick bite or to take out for the train ride home.

The best

By RetiredMilitary |

Stuck in Penn Station for a time? Hit up Rose's. Great, fresh pizza. Good size portions. Great.at service. On site sit down dining that accommodates luggage. Took a pie to go. Yum!

Quick & Delicious

By The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳 |

Get off the team and grab a quick slice. Love grabbing a slice and a tall boy before leaving Penn Station.

Brilliant

By taldar769 |

A very busy cheap place for a pizza as a snack or meal - every time I was there the dining area was full. They had a good selection of pizzas and the prices including a drink were more than reasonable. Recommended.

Quick slice before hopping on train!

By Deanna D |

When it's time to head home from the city, there's nothing better than getting a slice or two from Roses Pizza before heading home. This place has so many different slices. My favorite is the one that looks like a grandma slice, but it's triangular like a regular slice. It's got fresh basil and a sweeter sauce; it also has fresh mozzarella (or at least that's what it tastes like.) Their pizza never disappoints! Penn Station wouldn't be the same without this place! There's a lot of seating in the back too, so you don't have to stand and eat your food, like at Shake Shack, which just opened in Penn, and is usually pretty busy.

Ok to get a quick re-heated slice in a hurry

By luron |

I was in a hurry and a bit hungry, so I stopped in just before jumping on a train. They had a great looking beer bar that I didn't have time to enjoy. I ordered a slice of cheese, and got a large slice re-heated in the pizza oven. I'm surprised that they don't have more fresh, hot pies out. I'd have gladly tried a slice of one of their specialty pizzas if one of them had looked hot and fresh. But why bother with that if none of them look fresh and hot? It was only average. Not bad, but if I'd had more time, I'd have looked for something else that looked fresher and was tastier.

Best pizza in Penn Station

By 365den |

Rose’s has been around forever. It is by far the best pizza in Penn Station. Located in the LIRR Terminal it is just a short walk from NJ transit and Amtrak. It’s worth the trip.

Rainy day? Head to Penn Station, great food and shopping

By Debra_50154 |

The weather was horrible my last day in New York, we found our way into Penn Station, it is basically an underground mall. Found Roses Pizza, service was quick and they don't let you ponder long before they just go to the next person in line. Pizzas are presumably made fresh each day and it appears they just throw your order in the oven to heat it up. Not the best pizza I had in New York but when you are hungry.....different experience for this Midwest girl.

Great pizza!

By 333stefanieh |

Great pizza, decent prices for the size of the piece! In particular, the broccoli pizza was great. Pepperoni/sausage, pepperoni/mushroom, broccoli/ricotta cheese, upside down pizza - all good!

Excellent grab and go pizza!! I am Italian so you can trust me

By FredSax |

I have been in Manhattan many times, I love the City, everytime I visit New York area I go for a few days there. I tried pizza per slice in many of the grab and go pizzeria in the city, some are good, some are ok just fat, full of oil and with the crust not that great. Roses Pizza and Pasta has instead an exceptional pizza! I took a slide of Cheese and Mushrooms (Margherita con funghi in Italian), really delicious. It was a flying visit just before catching a train to Long Island

Great pizza anytime of the day

By Matt P |

This is a no frills pizza and pasta place with two locations in Penn Station (one near the Amtrak and the other near LIRR). I stopped in the location near the LIRR around 1130 pm and grabbed a slice of plain ("cheese" to us earthlings - $2.75) and a 32 oz ice cold draught beer ($5). Eating a slice of pizza with a cold beer while waiting around for a late night train is a NY experience that everyone ought to have and Roses is perfectly placed to provide it. The pizza was great - hot and flavorful. I go to this place every time I pass through Penn Station.

Quick Slice

By The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳 |

Great place inside Penn Station to grab a quick slick...maybe even a beer too! Standard NYC pizza I grew up with.

Subway Pizza - I think So

By Josh J |

Pizza joint down in the subway at Penn Station. Tons of variety, great flavor and sauce. Calzones also great.

Really good pizza

By Michael W |

You don't always find the best food in transit hubs usually dominated by big chains. But this is an exception to that rule and Rose's serves up some very good pizza.

Fast food joint with excellent food fast

By MarkDignam |

It's a real shame this place is stuck underground with plastic tables and the obligatory drunk in the corner. The pizza here is outstanding.

The unfriendliest staff ever

By Gary B |

In scanning the recent reviews, it seems that my concern about the behavior of Rose's staff is unfortunately shared by many others. I was hoping that it was just aberrational and an isolated incident, but apparently not so. I stopped in for a lunch before heading to the Amtrak area to await my train. I had purchased and just finished eating my lunch. Before going to the restroom, I discarded my trash. Upon exiting the restroom, I sat down again so that I could collect myself before going onward to the train station. I had no sooner done so when I was immediately approached by an employee who scolded me that I needed to buy something if I wanted to sit. I tried to explain that I was a customer only to be sarcastically asked "when?" It was only after I offered to produce a receipt that the employee finally backed off, but of course with no apology. It was humiliating and unnecessary. Given the number of people this has happened to I can only conclude they have no interest in good customer relations and will find another place to eat from now on.

Not that good!

By 46JimH46 |

We needed a quick pick me up while going between sightseeing tours. We stopped at Rose's in Penn Station terminal. Pizza is not that good but filling. $4.95 per slice.

always a quality slice

By Maria_Casq |

I love Roses Pizza & always make it a point to stop in when I'm in the city. It's great for a quick slice & is full of flavor like you would expect a NY slice to be. The garlic knots are good as well!

Pizza

By Joy B |

If you want delicious pizza and in Penn Station. Go to Roses. They have a 100 different kinds of pizza. And yes they have regular plain pizza. Absolutely delicious

The BEST Pizza

By Ed B |

I've been in-and-out of Penn Station over the last 3 years and Rose Pizza is one of the things I look forward to, each and every time.

Exactly what we were looking for

By gailpet5 |

Great variety of pizzas by the slice -- able to satisfy our family of 4. Very reasonably priced too.

Worth seeking out

By Dog_Solitude |

This is a fast-food place rather than somewhere for a sit down meal. Located on the concourse level of Penn station, you have to go into the station from 34th Street and walk along towards the Metro in order to find this place. Once there, you will find a frankly bewildering array of pizzas all ready to be dished up as individual slices. As with most New York fast food places, they're not prepared for the first-time visitor and expect you to know exactly what you want as soon as to walk through the door. Unless you're planning of buying a whole pizza to talk out, the easiest way to order is just point at the slice you want, whereupon it will be popped onto a plate and re-heated in the pizza oven while you pay, so you will be good to go in about a minute. There is seating and self-clear tables, as with other fast food places.

Fabulous pizza in Penn Station

By Allan S |

Must stop in if near Penn Station. Loved the egg plant topped pizza, new topping experience for me. Also offered sandwiches and pasta, but we stuck with the delicious pizza. Generous portions for the price.

Good pizza on a budget

By DEJinVA |

We ate dinner here twice. My wife and I each had one slice of pizza and one 16 oz Budwieser. The pizza slices are large and were very good. The total bill came in just under $11 each evening. Dinners are expensive at NYC restaurants and Rosa's is a good alternativfe to McD's or Burger King if you are looking to save a few bucks.

My Go-To Quick Pizza Spot at Penn Station!

By EileenO727 |

No time to eat? Your train leaves in a nano-second? This place is the answer! Usually rushing to catch my train on nights when I am in NYC, the pizza here is really good, if you get one out of the oven! Served quickly, no attitude. Staff is competent, and will bag up your slice to go. The plain slices, delivered fresh from the oven, are deals. The other stuff, not so much, especially if hanging around. Beer and drinks are here, also. TVs usually tuned to sports while commuters wait to catch a train. The one closer to the E train is the better of the two that are here, I think. Have not tried it, so maybe it is also a good spot for a quick slice.

Great NY Style Pizza!

By Deborah L |

I grew up in NY and miss the pizza so much. Anytime I get a chance to head to NYC I must get the pizza. Roses right in Penn Station is fantastic and true NY style. Yum!

" UNEXPECTEDLY GREAT PIZZA "

By Mcoh9570 |

After arriving in pen we decided to grab a quick bite before heading to subways, wow a plain slice was absolutely amazing. The pizzas are constantly moving so the food is fresh. Service is fast. Prices are maybe high but I can only imagine what the rent is in pen station. Very late eating area in the back. I can't wait to stop in again. Everyone else raved about there specialty slices also... Great start to the night.

Long-Time Pizza Favorite Still Great!!!

By Suzi L |

Rose's was everyone's go-to pizza joint when I worked in the area for over 35 years. While many transit hubs are serviced by chain restaurants one can find all over the World, Rose's is an off-shoot of a pizzeria that established it's reputation in Maspeth, Queens many years ago. The pizza has not changed over the years -- still a great slice.

Get the whole pie

By RetiredMilitary |

Headed home to Maryland but wanted to take some pizza with us. Stopped into Rose's. Easy to order but you have to wait for it. We did and it was great. So are the staff--very helpful and considerate.

So good

By carbone1336 |

I'm from New Jersey, My friend told me if I'm ever in queens go to rose's pizza. I was happy that I did I had won the best slices of pizza I've ever had. It's true what they say pizza in New York is much better than New Jersey. Can wait to go back and try a different slice.

The Best Slice, Ever

By FrancisButtworth |

Stumbled in a few year's ago, now always make a pilgrimage when in NYC. Best cheese Pizza in NYC, hands down, but not too fussy on some of the obscure toppings. Beer is cheap and good, lots of selection on tap. Staff helpful and friendly, but not overly so. Can't wait to go back. Yeah, the bathroom was a bit scary.

By Anne Sornum |

First place I ll visit when Im in N.Y. Bluepoint Toasted Lager and a couple of pizza slizes/ garlic bread to eat(plain is best), and go and mingle with people in the back - the most stange combination off regulares, buisness, just passing thru and young people celebtating ,always you will have a new experince. So In few words ; Cheap Tasty pizza and the best beer in the world. And more fun than watching stand up........

Very Good Pizza can be found in Penn Station

By Measuretwice8 |

If you are like most people. you pass through Penn Station only to get to/from a train. It is easy to miss a surprisingly good pizza place in this busy location. We ate at Rosa's as a quick bite before a concert. The reverse Sicilian pie was delicious. The white slice was very good as well. The place was so busy that everything was quite fresh. The have a quick service beer counter that had a surprising number of tap beers that were served good and cold. I would be happy to eat there again when in Penn Station.

Fabulous Pizza

By agilityaddict |

You don't have to go far when getting off the LIRR to get a great slice of pizza. Every time we end up in the city we end up here for a slice. They have a nice dinning room in the back with TVs. I have had the White, Cheese, Margharita and they are all good. Good stuff and never disappointed.

Awful place

By Meggancs |

I went here on New Years Eve. They charged me $5 per slice and had their signs covered. I double checked on their online menu for the prices. They refused me a reciept. Were incredibly rude to me. I believe because I am a woman and they saw that I had cash. I will never again go here. They were charging different prices per person. Clearly based on how the person appeared. I even filed a BBB report on them. They destroyed my New Years Eve by the way that they treated me.

Great pizza/beer with terrific customer service

By edmac404 |

A phenomenal beer bar greets you at the door with a phenomenal selection of taps ranging from common to craft. The young lady from Russia working the bar is knowledgable and just plain nice. The pizza slices are huge. There is a wide variety to choose from. My family and I enjoyed warching sports and talking in the seating area. Probably want to clean the seating area and the bathroom a bit better for the amount of people they have coming through that place. Overall decent experience.

Great takeaway

By David B |

Good choice of pizzas that are served by the slice very hot and delicious, plenty of choice for pasta and toppings

Absolutely delicious

By Claire Harding |

Seriously delicious pizza!! I ordered a slice of the sausage and pepperoni pizza and it was delicious! Toppings were generous and it was ready in no time. I’ll be back!

Fine for late night pizza

By D D |

It’s good for some pizza late in the evening especially after a few pints, the crust is nice but the rest kinda dry very friendly staff and it’s quick, pretty much what you would expect at a train station

Good and quick

By Jeremy85100 |

I stopped here to eat something on the go and they have a large selection of pizzas. The cashier is rude and not nice so that affected my rating a little. Pizza was good and the usual grease dripping. It gets noisy here.

New York Pizza is great....if you are in Penn Station, this one is a winner

By rgstrip |

Another typical (great) New York pizza joint.....this one in Penn Station. There are at least two pizza joints in Penn Station. This one seems to be my go-to after the US Open while waiting for my train back to DC.....the other one is closer to the Amtrak trains, this one is on the LIRR side. Two cheese, one Sicilian, and one sausage slice with a drink was $18 before tip. Really yummy.

Best pizza ever

By acceber92 |

This is by far the best pizza I’ve ever had (and believe me I’ve eaten a lot of pizza in my life). So delicious, huge portions and amazing customer service. What’s not to love?

Great Value

By bsm1982 |

Rose's Pizza is a great value! The slices are huge and they have great beers on tap for a fraction of what you would pay elsewhere in NYC. This isn't high class dining but if you are looking for a great value and a good slice of NYC pizza don't miss Roses.

4 stars for pizza and the show

By NKPBerkshire |

This hidden away pizza joint in the Long Island railroad side of Penn Station is a local legend. The pizza is good. Very good. The back dining room can be quite an experience, especially on nights where there are events upstairs at Madison Square Garden. I have sat next to business people, families and homeless dudes. It is quite a mix. They do have a restroom which is preferrable to the normal Penn Station bathrooms. All in all it can be quite an experience, but the pizza is worth it.

Great pizza and they are open late

By IndyKevin317 |

I have come here even when not waiting for a train just to get pizza late at night because I know they are open. When I am in New York I love to eat pizza. This may not be the best pizza in New York, but it is pretty good and I have never been disappointed. One time we were waiting for the last LIRR train to Ronkonkoma on a Saturday night. It was about 2am and Penn Station was packed with people. At least half the people I saw waiting for the train were eating Rose's pizza. To me getting pizza at Rose's is just part of the Penn Station experience.

Better than you'd expect

By albertr468 |

I have gone to Rose's several time while waiting for trains at Penn Station. The service is quick and friendly, and there are a lot of different kinds of pizza on offer. You can get your standard pepperoni or cheese pizza, or something more exotic like buffalo chicken. I recently had a slice of buffalo chicken there that was excellent, which also had streaks of ranch dressing on it. The pizza has a great crust and is offered at a decent prize considering you're at Penn Station (I paid about $4 for a fairly large slice). I have been and will continue to be a customer there.

Train station pizza - what do you expect?

By Rick O |

Bad pizza. Ok crust but otherwise flavorless. Leave the station and find better almost anywhere in the city.

Good street food

By Tom E |

Wouldn't swing by the place on purpose but it's great for a quick slice of pizza. Not the cleanest of all places but that's to expect in a train station. :)
