I went to dinner at this restaurant with my family. We did not have a reservation. We were seated in the small back dining area far away from the main dining room and the outdoor dining area. We had to walk from the main dining area through the adjoining cafe into the back area. No white person was seated in the back area, except for one person in our group, for the almost full hour that we spent eating dinner. I did not observe any people of color in the main dining area.

So here’s the deal. The service is good. I’ve only had great waiters and waitresses. And the food is good. But here’s the catch. The portions are TINY. I mean TINY. Can I say it again. TINY. The pricepoints are supposed to make you feel that you’re buying dishes under $20. But you’re not even getting an appetizer size. The salads CANNOT be shared. The pasta is so small, you’ll need to order 2. Which is then $40. Or you’ll find yourself ordering extra entrees so you don’t leave hungry. I was speaking with a friend who had just gone - and the first thing out of his mouth was “Wow are the portions small.” First I mentioned something to the waiter who said that many people have the same complaint. He then brought over a manger. The manager said that he’s never heard this before, and people always say how big the portions are. That is a BS answer, and a complete lie. He then went to the head chef, who said that’s how they do it. He offered to bring me another pasta dish, but would have to charge me. told him no way. Finally they brought another of the pasta dish. This was the third or fourth time we’ve had this issue - so have decided I can spend my money somewhere else. We will not be returning. Hey manager, you need to go back to manager school.

Just had dinner it was so good Calamari is the best there Linguine with the lemon sauce one of my favorites You’ll never have a bad dish here The cocktails, whines and beers are great Our waiter Babiy (not sure spelled right ) was really attentive and friendly Great service

Danny the manager and his team provided the most delicious multi course brunch that was above and beyond our expectations! We had a group of 23 and the private room at the rear of the restaurant with its blue bird wallpaper was perfect! The wait staff was attentive and could not do enough to make us feel welcome and looked after. Everything was delicious from the signature cocktails and mocktails to the excellent salads, foccaccia, avocado toast, as well as the amazing pizza and desserts- so impressed by the abundance of dishes as well as the quality. Could not have been happier. My daughter’s baby shower was a huge success thanks to Danny and his staff. We will be sure to return!

The crust was the best thing about my pizza. The tomato sauce or lack of, was pitiful. The mozzarella cheese looked like it was spooned on by a penny pinching cook. And the four pieces of basil were burnt to a crisp. Someone, anyone, please show them how to do or make a pizza. Won't be back for the pizza that's for sure.

I am really confused why this restaurant is not rated higher. The Fussili alla Napoletana is one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The food, the drinks and the service is amazing. One of the best meals I had visiting New York.

A brand new restaurant opened, I believe, in late April 2021. It was refurbished on the site of two closed restaurants. Most local people have been eagerly awaiting its start date and its food. Our party attended for an early dinner as follows: (1) For starters, we ordered beets (yellow and purple), which were served with bitter greens and hazelnuts, and warm olives, which were marinated in fennel, orange and castelvetrano. Both very fresh and tasty; (2) For the interim course, we had beef and pork meatballs with ricotta and parmigiano. Completely delicious. I would definitely order these again; (3) For the main course, branzino with pea leaves, salsa verde and artichokes, accompanied with a side portion of asparagus. The fish was tender with a lovely, crispy skin; and (4) For dessert, we had the tiramisu, which was very creamy and tasty. We ordered carafes of pinot grigio, which were reasonably well priced, and washed the branzino down well. Our server was very good indeed. Very friendly and knew the menu well. The atmosphere is buzzing with family and friends, mostly from the local area. Definitely pleased about this place, and shall return soon.

Live locally and this restaurant greatly disappointed. The decor was attractive, but food mediocre.,Very limited menu. Pizza was burnt and peppery. Pasta choice was spicy and not really good. You can get much better pizza in the Gramercy area. Don’t be fooled by the attractive ambience. Will not be returning although it is very convenient to my apartment. Will walk the extra blocks for better food.

This is a superb Italian-themed restaurant. At 7:30 pm on a weekday it was obviously busy. But they were able to give it a table for six after waiting just ten minutes. That in itself, was impressive. Being Halloween season, inside, there was a profusion of small pumpkins and orange gourds. The food was well presented. The ambience was wonderful. Service was commendable. They were willing to make adjustments to the menu to make a dish dairy free. Most of all, they were welcoming of toddlers. All very good.

Excellent experience! Great food, real Italian taste, very nice staff. Congratulations to everyone, especially to the restaurant manager and to the lovely waiter who served us! Looking forward to visiting you again!

Place empty (4:30 ish) I was solo asked for window table. Tried to seat me next to water station. Refused. Picked my window table. Was told that my table was only available 5:45. Food was great. Management was awful. I won’t be back. Too many other good restaurants to put up with this

I don’t understand the low rating of the place. I am happy we didn’t check it and just took a chance. The food, cocktails and service were outstanding. We are both food gigs and to say it takes effort:D Scrambled eggs in my Napolitano we made so good, my partner’s Salmon Benedicte was perfect. We also tried the Breakfast Sausage, oh my it’s good. Service was top. Do you know those places where you just finish your dish and plate is removed just after you put your fork and knife on the plate? Yeps, that is the place. Thank you guys for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this restaurant. If you like it as much as we did, give them your rating. They deserve a higher ranking.

What an amazing dining experience!! This is an adorable restaurant with cute decor and a neighborhood feel! We ate our way through the menu starting with the focaccia and pizza, moving on to salad and pasta, and finishing with tiramisu, olive oil cake, and coffee. Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious with an authentic Italian feel!

First of all, this restaurant is in a neighborhood where restaurants are mainly frequented by locals. The service/seating can be great or awful. Depends on the attitude of the server and/or the host at the front. Last time I went last week, I was told all the tables outside were reserved. Went to a nearby restaurant that had equivalent food and much better bargain, but not as nice outdoor seating. When I passed by Rosemary's after my dinner, they still had plenty of seating outside- so this was a lie or they were understaffed and could not service the tables. When I was able to be seated at other times, the food is very good, but small portions and expensive. In addition, the outside dining appears not to be COVID-safe, with very little ventilation built into the outdoor dining seating. They used to have tables outside and not in an enclsure, not sure if they are coming back in the Summer.

Great service, but only so-so food. The calamari was tasty, but my chicken Milanese was very heavily coated in bread crumbs so the taste was mostly of deep fried breadcrumbs. I do wish the menu was more varied although I understand the need to keep food costs down. What was really disappointing was not being able to go up to the bar and take advantage of Happy Hour drinks because we were at a regular table. Most other restaurants we’ve been to extended Happy Hour prices to all customers. Being seated a few feet away from the bar and paying twice as much for a glass wine is ridiculous. My advice is if you are there during Happy Hour just sit at the bar as no doubt you can order off of the regular menu.

We visited Rosemarys for our wedding dinner on the day of our micro-wedding in the city. Originally we had planned to eat in another restaurant and as the wedding party grew in number, that particular restaurant became greedy with menus and prices and deposits! So with one month to go I had to find a new restaurant worthy of being ‘the’ meal and also within reasonable distance of the rooftop bar we’d booked. Rosemarys east did not disappoint. I could easily book a table for 12 people online, I was in contact with them about moving the time and it was done with no fuss and with such a friendly and fast response. Upon arrival we had drinks in the bar and then we were seated for our meal in the centre of the restaurant. We absolutely loved it - the food and drinks were delicious. Focaccia was 👌🏻. There was a slight mix up with some starters but that issue was quickly rectified with no fuss. The portions were very generous and we were very pleased with the meal. All staff were really friendly too. We’ll be returning to a Rosemarys when we next visit NYC. 🍝 Thanks for helping to make our day truly awesome!! Thanks again guys!

We had lunch in 7 on Thanksgiving and it was all very good! Nice room, friendly and welcoming staff.😄

I went to Rosemary's East shortly after they opened. It was a long anticipated opening due to COVID and I am so glad they finally did. The place has been packed but I went for an early dinner with a friend. We shared the Caesar salad with was unique and made with baby kale. Then shared a pasta and a pizza. I loved the Stinger pizza with the soppressata, chili oil and honey. I would go back just for that pizza! Nice drink menu; I had the spicy margarita...fancy! I wish they would be open for lunch and hope that is in their plans eventually.

Had dinner at Rosemary’s east last night. It’s taken a bit of time to create the dishes as incredible as Rosemary’s west, but they seem to have the cooking in hand. Service was uncoordinated. (Taste of wine, we had to ask for this a couple of times, once with our waitperson, then with the person who brought my chosen wine and a third time we requested the taste from a another person at which point we were already eating our salads.) I ordered the arugula salad and the branzino along with a Sauvignon. Very tasty which was a wonderful surprise. I also ordered the clam linguini (special of the night), 2 Cesar salads and another branzino to go. I asked our waitperson to put the to go order in with our dinner. Time later, my friend is waiting on me to finish my salad and fish; I wanted to savor every bite. The manager comes to our table and informs me that they don’t do take out. Hmm, I had asked the waitperson to put my to go order in along with our original order and now, sometime later I’m being told that I cannot get take out. I was a bit confused as the waitperson didn’t tell me at the time we ordered, that take out was not an option. At this point I simply said to the manager that I wanted to place an order for more food, namely 2 salads, fish and pasta. I then informed him I probably wouldn’t be able to eat it so please bring me containers to put it in to take home. The manager let me know it would take 40 minutes for my (second) order of food to which I replied, “I can wait”. My friend had the tiramisu and raved about it. My second food order arrived sometime later. All was good; mission accomplished. I’m hoping in the near future Rosemary’s east will offer food to go. I live in the neighborhood and would love the convenience of having their food for dinner sometimes. And it would be great if they opened for lunch, especially on the weekends. I’m sure they’d have a fabulous menu and the setting is so perfect.
Perfect for big groups
The only reason why this went from 5 to 4 stars was the hostess: she was unfriendly (barely even acknowledged us when we entered) and would not seat us until the third person was there. Besides that, things went uphill once we were seated. Both waitresses were refreshingly friendly and attentive. Food is very tasty and reasonably priced for NYC. Would return.
