Good food. Recommended for pre-theatre.

Good food. Recommended for pre-theatre, as the staff focus on ensuring prompt service. Good bread and pesto, and roasted cauliflower. Service OK.

Great pre-theater dinner

By jeffg9999999 |

Great food for a pre-show dinner. Service was great and the place is really cool. We would absolutely go here again for any occasion but especially if you are in the theater district for a show.

Great Brunch

By Soraya D |

This spot has THE best brunch! The Secret Garden is such a beautiful location and they have the best bottomless in all of Hell's Kitchen. Staff was so attentive. Can't wait to come back.

So, so pleased! Great brunch specials and beautiful ambiance

By Aisling K |

Really great experience. Food was delicious. Went to their brunch and walked away so pleased. The restaurant itself is really beautiful and the flowers on the ceiling were so pretty. We sat in the back room and the lighting was super lively during the daytime and felt like a little escape from the city-life. Got the Banana Foster French Toast and the Rosevale Omelette and both were really flavorful. The homefries were the perfect crispy outside and the french toast was insane and decadent in the best way. Will definitely being going back. Plus, they had a great deal for a boozy brunch that is another reason for a sure return.

The perfect brunch spot

This spot is stunning for brunch. Went with a girlfriend of mine and we had such a great time. The banana foster french toast was delicious and we loved the whole vibe of the room, super bright and tranquil atmosphere!

Cocktail bar and brunch - outstanding

By villana2017 |

We went to both the restaurant for brunch and to The Blue Room for evening drinks. The bartender at The Blue Room was so attentive, we never had an empty glass, and the drinks themselves were extremely quaffable, really showcased the spirits within them, and were all themed around Broadway shows (and classily done, might I add!) The cosy and sophisticated atmosphere were just the cherry on top! We also had an additional celebratory anniversary bottomless brunch at the Kitchen and again, the team were so attentive. We were seated in the sumptuously decorated Secret Garden and staff made sure we were never without a drink. The wagyu hash, NY breakfast and chocolate fondants were all delicious - we'll definitely be back on our next trip!

Rosevale before the theater is a must try.

Best pre theatre dinner I ever had. Great service, nice portions and good food for a reasonable price in a casual yet upscale ambiance.

Beautiful place with snob management

By Laura F |

I only went to the Roosevelt cocktail room .The atmosphere of the place is unique and beautiful, is a gem in the center of the city. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about management. They advertise the place as a very classy and chic bar where if you make a reservation and don't show up you risk up to a $50 fees and where during jazz nights they ask people who reserved to not make noise and mute their cell phones but then there are people standing around going back and forth to the bar and spilling drinks and yelling the whole time. There is nothing wrong with offering cocktails at 22 dollar, but you need to choose which bar you want to be, a bar that offer jazz and a peaceful and adult atmosphere for lovers or colleagues, or a more conventional bar where everyone can dance and scream and enjoy the happy our. Or at least in the weekend be one and during the week offer jazz night, it was also not respectful for the band. Moreover if the classic menu offer 25 dollars cocktail that does not allow the majority of the staff and management to treat customers like beggars when they are there for happy our or when a problem arises. I have traveled to a lot of places in the world, Paris , Rome , London , Portofino , Shanghai etc , so I know what does it means to take a cocktail in a tourist or beautiful place but I also almost always experienced a three hundred sixty degree experience, both in the atmosphere and service in making the guest feel good . Unfortunately in my 4 times ( it was above my hotel) at Rosevelt bar, the divine architecture somehow made management forget that tge beautiful unique place does not justify them from feeling superior to others and point out that prices are expensive because it is New York and not smiling and notice in advance some problems. I also want to point out that when a problem arise the manager didn’t even want to speak to me , I demanded and after we spoke I even heard him laughing about me with the waitress while I was waiting for the lift, at least be classy enough to wait some minute after the client left . I really hope that they will manage better crisis situation and management in the future. Mlaw from Switzerland

Scammers!

By Nunzia285 |

I ate at Rosevale to the cocktail room during a jazz night on Saturday 12/7 in a group of 6 people. At the end of the dinner, we asked to split the bill of 427.11$ in 3 parts, for a total of 142.36$ per credit card payment. We used the cards of my friends and mine. 2 days later I find a change on the amount payed on my card, and there is a transaction of the entire bill amount 427.11$. Attached to the mail i sent the receipts of the three payment. I went to Rosevale in person, called at phone, writed a lot of emails to manager, Instagram and official mail with no single answer back! Still now I am waiting for my money back! The girl who served my table is called Abbey on 7 December 2024 night. Scammers! Dont suggest it at all!

Disappointing pre-theatre menu prix fixe

By Peg K |

We chose this restaurant because it offered a pre-theatre menu prix fixe dinner for $45 per person. On arrival it was shock to find the prix fixe price was actually $60 per person and a glass of wine $20! Not what was advertised! And not a bargain. On top of this the meals were very standard, very unimaginative and not much to recommend itself by way of presentation. The service is friendly, but not very polished for the price you're paying.

6 or 7 stars for the cocktails

By Alan304 |

Although the cocktail serving size is small (lots of ice!) the flavors are memorable. The Magical Tchotchke was particularly good. The first floor space is being renovated, only the second floor is open and you have to enter/exit through the hotel next door. The food menu is limited. But you’re not going to Rosevale for a great menu. The service is adequate. It can be overwhelmed when the room is crowded.

a place to be in NYC

By Alex L |

We stayed in NYC for 3 weeks and a friend recommended this multi-option Bar-restau. We've been there last minute without reservation but being well dressed we didn't experience any problems to enter. Our first selection was to visit their Roof top bar which actually offered a breath taking view outdoors but not a warm feeling of bar. Since the fingerfood menu was poor we decided we move to the Coctail room at first floor. and there she was... Inga, the kind Hostess with a warm welcome positioned us at a nice table close to the Jazz band (plays 3 times a week) and under the feeling of the night breeze , eating crab roll finger food and drinking amazing Cocktails we had one of our special nights out in NYC! Prices are pretty low for the services provided in absolute number or in comparison with any other bar. I mean , offering the House Coctail at 16$ is what other offer sodas..

Nice happy hour 7-9 PM

By proshares |

Really nice and warm cocktail bar. Go inside Rosevale and take the stairs up to the 2nd floor Rosevale has a good happy hour. $15 martinis and $10 apps. 7-9 PM. In Times Square.

Don't miss this one!

By Lori G |

I usually skip a hotel restaurant, but glad I didn't here. Wandered in on a January weeknight - pre-theater and without a reservation. No problem. Good food, great vibe! Pre-theater service was spot on. (Try the duck - matzo ball soup was spot on!) Reasonable price point for Manhattan. GREAT bar upstairs. I will definitely return with friends.

Great new spot near theater district

By Andrew J |

Amazing new place near theater district! In the Civilian Hotel, this hip new restaurant had great service and even better food. Fabulous upscale feeling but light and warm environment, creative menu with solid favorites (chicken soup!) done really well. My friend had the mushroom ragout and was over the moon.

New Approachable Lux Restaurant in Hells Kitchen

By Dreamluxury |

Rosevale Kitchen and Cocktail Room is quite stunning in design. Apparently David Rockwell and Rockwell Group really out did themselves. I am a fan of a well designed interior. Restaurant as only been opened for about 6 weeks I believe. I had reservations at 6pm and it appeared to be a great time as it was buzzing. Hostess was lovely and say us immediately. We were sat on a two top that was a lovely set table. Server approached the table quickly and started by offering water choices then drink order. I forget the name of the red wine I ordered but all I know is it was amazing. They have an expensive wine menu. We also ordered to bread and butter! Yes it sounds regular but the butter was absolutely delicious. We loved the fried oysters and Chicken PATE. My god they were both great dishes with the pate being my FAV!! So so good. My friend ordered the Chicken and I ordered the Roasted Duck. Needless to say these two dishes were incredible. On the side we ordered Creamy Kale which was seriously something I could eat on the daily. We were pretty stuffed so no desserts but two cappuccinos to end the meal. All I can say is I have two more dinners I will be hosting with colleagues and friends this week:-)

great food, chic atmosphere!

food was great as was service! will definitely go back...order the trout, delish!! also love that it's such a high end restaurant right in the hotel. super convenient.

Good food but very noisy

By Tan Kra |

The food was excellent and the staff just lovely as well. The reason why we rate this as ‘average ‘ is due to the fact the acoustic is horror. The noise is so bad you can’t have a proper conversation. A pity because with some simple adjustments this place would be perfect.

Wow!!! Colorful, Beautiful, Delicious

By Breezy G |

I had a really lovely brunch here with 2 girlfriends. We sat in the garden in the back room which was so sunny and spectacular. I got the burger and my friends got the pancake board and split a bagel with lox. it was our first time there and we will defenitely be back. the Prosecco drink with flowers in it was delicious

Neighborhood Gem

By Liz Keefe |

I threw a private event at this very unique, boutique hotel. You almost don't feel like you are in Hells Kitchen. The ambience and decor remind one of a theatre era gone by. We held our party in the cocktail lounge which suited our small group perfectly and then moved it to the rooftop lounge overlooking the gorgeous Manhattan skyline. Wow! What a treat for us all. The service was impeccable, and the entire staff was so friendly and available to all of our needs.

Best thing about this place is that it is quick. Is that good?

By BarryandJackie |

Emphasis was on speed rather than service or quality, so if you order the pre-fix before dinner, you can get in and out of this place quickly. Enjoyed the fish, but the steak was tough. The shrimp cocktail and salads were good. Knocked over the prosecco and shattered the glass, and servers awkwardly responded. Did they need to replace the drink? No. But offering, at least, would have demonstrated attention to customer service.

A Food and Beverage Disruptor

By 360 MAGAZINE |

Rosevale Kitchen & Cocktail Room is the hottest new property in the theatre district and is definitely bringing the drama. Interior design by globally renowned hotel, incredible location, great service and food. Affordable price with jaw drop rooftop views. The best thing you can do in the Hell's Kitchen district.

Incredible night spot

By Felix Carmoda |

I am reluctant to give this place the rave it deserves because I don't want it to become over crowded and I feel like it's a little hidden gem that I found. Excellent drinks-great glasses and atmosphere and amazing music with ZERO cover charge. LOVE THIS PLACE.

Dinner at Rosevale

By Maggie S |

This is a great spot in Hells Kitchen right within the theater district. I got dinner here with a friend before heading up to their rooftop bar called Starchild for some drinks. We shared the lobster rolls which were great. I got the burger for my main which was also delicious. Drinks were good and our server was very attentive. Definitely will be coming back soon!

Service is slower than molasses …first and last time dining experience with them

By Peggy D |

I will start with the positives… the food was very good . The breads , appetizers , and dinner were good . (They charge extra for bread ) We were there for their price fixe pre theater dinner that they advertise as 60 minutes … we were seated at 540. 10 minutes later waiter finally shows up to take drink order . I ordered a glass of moscato , (waiter repeated it back to me ) drink comes & it’s Prosecco . Waiter supposed to bring correct drink , he never does. 6pm we order dinner , appetizer and desserts .640 we are still no dessert , waiter says it’s coming , 650 still no dessert and never took coffee order .. 7 pm still no dessert or coffee order taken despite reminding waiter twice .710 we ask them to remove dessert and Prosecco , we have show tickets and need to go . 720 bill comes with manager who gives half assed apology, and says because it a package we are still charged for dessert we never got as desserts are included so nothing removed ..we pay bill at 725 and waiter brings out dessert .. no thanks dude

Went for a group dinner and was overcharged. My friend had the same thing happen with a different waitress for drinks the same night.

Excellent choice in the theater district

By lady frobisher |

Great atmosphere in the restaurant and the bar upstairs. Dedicated service people in both. The restaurant is a good pre theatre choice as there’s a 60 minute menu. Food was very good and as it was restaurant week, reasonably priced. The bar on the second floor was packed post theatre. Gypsy jazz made for a fun night which ended at midnight.
