We came across this amazing place from a recommendation from someone we asked on the street it is a fantastic place great food, service, ambiance and decor. would recommend highly!!!

A great place for Sunday brunch with friends. Lively atmosphere. Excellent food. Had the Kale salad which was awesome. Eggs Benedict was great too. Bellinis were a great compliment. Outstanding service!!! Definitely the place for brunch in Harlem.

Visited the restaurant during their first week of their opening A very nice surrounding,a gentle service and a food remarkable tasty A must-at least for lunch

Had a great lunch here, sharing plates with nice fresh nearly tapas style of food. Real surprise just walking in here. And a nice - although roadside - terrace, which doesn't come naturally in NY.

As we entered the sun reached far into the local with it's fresh hip interior. We went for a drink and something small to eat. We were seated at a table just in front of the bar and had a great view to the street, felt like we were sitting on a veranda. Good drinks and epic food! We had fish tacos and a plate of hummus shrooms and asparagus - very fresh!

Met a colleague for dinner with a reservation on a Thursday early evening after work. Easy to get to on the corner of W. 115th Street & Frederick Douglass Blvd ( new resturant row in Harlem). The atmosphere was upscale yet warm, friendly & relaxed. Wonderfully mixed clientele were dressed in business attire to casual. Ate outside & was comfortable and able to linger. The food was well prepared & delicious with tasty sauces. Had the striped steak truly cooked medium rare (Yay). Absolutely delicious deviled eggs for appetizer along with a creatively delicious lobster Mac & Cheese. The chocolate layer cake was moist and worth the calories. Good selection of wines. The wait staff was attentive, knowledgable & professionally friendly! Was my first time. Absolutely returning & telling my friends.

We happened to walk past Row House and decided to stop for dinner. How lucky were we! The food and service was excellent. The staff couldn't have been better. I highly recommend.

This is a very busy place near Harlem. We sat outside which was fun and great for people watching. My wife and daughter had steaks which were great. I had the lamb shank “special” which was huge but literally had NO FLAVOR! (How is that possible?) The service was very slow but friendly. Would probably try again sometime.

This is the second time I've been here it's one of the best restaurants in Harlem great food great atmosphere great people that work here a must .... must taste and eat.. don't miss it ..

This is my second visit. First time I had brunch and loved it. This time we had cocktails and small plates. No complaints about service or food. The sangria was a little weak however. Will definitely go again!

Got to Row House at about 5:30PM on a Saturday. I've seen the place but never stopped in. I had some friends in town so I wanted to have a sit down dinner. The place was fairly empty besides the bar. We sat to the far back right corner of the restaurant and ordered. Started talk and laughing then 30 minutes later the waiter comes up to tell us that the salmon that one of my friends ordered is no longer available. So he opts for another type of fish. As we continue to talk and impatiently wait the time continues to pass. My order and another friends order came out but 2 people were still missing meals. As I continued to wait my friend next to me grew impatient and finally at 6:35PM he received his burger. The food was good and the ambiance was nice but we felt like forgotten children. Unfortunately I can not recommend Row House based on our experience tonight. Good Dishes: Pan Seared Chicken Breast Burger & Fries

Great place to come on a date or with friends! Upscale yet casual atmosphere. Everything can be enjoyed family style which is great since I love to try a bit of it all. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms which were excellent, carbonara dumplings a bit small, but so delicious I could have eaten two orders myself, the sauce on the lolipop drumsticks was mouth watering and the mac n cheese absolutely spectacular. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and to top it off our server Sean was so incredibly attentive and friendly that he just completed a great night out!

We went in and were a little put off by the noise - pretty loud place but decor is great. We were ushered to a small table for two but when the hostess saw me krinkle my nose she immediately took us to the best corner seat in the house. Really appreciate that! Unlike other spots in the neighborhood - the majority of dishes on the menu were under 20.00. Our server was super cool and on his game. We think we have found our new go to spot in the hood ; )

Inviting atmosphere, great food, excellent jazz brunch, nice happy hour. Worth the visit and if easily accessible, a place to repeat.

We made reservations for Easter brunch. They had live jazz which was really nice. The food was very good. Although our server was very charming and apologetic, the kitchen and the bar were incredibly backed up. It look 30 minutes to get our first drink and almost an hour to see food. I'm sure it was partially due to it being Easter but they should have better anticipated the busy factor. I think their was only one bartender. I would try it again though.

We went for brunch on a Sunday, had a great time the host Ginaya was very helpful the waitress was attentive. Atmosphere was nice, live band food was good drinks nice. Fried okra was good, loved chicken with waffles and the veggie omelette was good. Overall food good but atmosphere great!

Everything we tasted was beautifully prepared and presented. Unpretentious Harlem restaurant with cosmopolitan urban crowd which was family friendly, excellent service, terrific food choices, and good service. AND priced modestly! Dessert was weakest course.

Ended up here for lunch and was not disappointed. Waiter was very pleasant. Ordered steak sandwich and Mac and cheese which came with a salad. Great meals to share with one other person. Pretty decor with colorful glass bottles and the star light to admire.

Went for brunch with my husband and two friends. Warmly greeted and promptly seated! We each ordered drinks and a different entrée. None of us was disappointed. Drinks were delicious and food likewise. The atmosphere is sunny and cozy with a nice view of the street if you sit in the front (or outside). They're pretty new, just a few months old. Here's hoping they can keep their quality up and not slide down (as so many restos do). In the meantime, a toast to the newbie on Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

Expensive but unique cocktails made with old-fashioned or old world ingredients such as beets or elderflower.

First-class food. Great ambience. Excellent service. Great live music. Great to linger and enjoy the charm.

Went for a late lunch. Service was attentive. We had salads and sandwiches. The food was good and well-priced. Will return.

We just had a great Sunday brunch, with attentive service and a wide variety of offerings, all while listening to a live jazz trio that was excellent. It was obvious that everyone there was really enjoying the fact that they were there, including couples, groups of friends, families with young ones and families like ours with 2 couples separated by a generation. The French toast was unique -- more like French loaf filled with Nutella and dripping with syrup; I had a great burger; my son had fancy grilled cheese; and his fiancée had the steak and eggs. This was perfect, and a great vibe.

Heard jazz coming from the restaurant while walking down Frederick Douglas BLVD. place opens to the street with patio seating. I had a nonalcoholic drink at the bar listened to jazz. Fun atmosphere and I would like to eat there.

My son who lives in Harlem recommended this eatery for lunch and it was a nice surprise right there in Harlem. The service was excellent and the food superb. My partner started lunch with a BBQ ear of corn which was outstanding; we both had sandwiches; I ordered the wonderfully cheesy grilled cheese which came with a choice of sides-I went with the green salad as the sandwich was filling. My drink, a Bourbon Old Fashioned was made to perfection. The trendy atmosphere is fresh and relaxing. Can't wait to go back!

Row House has great food but the addition of a DJ has changed the ambience. It went from a place to dine and catch up with friends to an eatery with deafening music. The extreme volume makes conversations impossible. After one drink, we exited and found a quieter establishment nearby.

Been here a few times and I am never disappointed. The bar scene fills up quickly, but you always manage to get a drink. The wait staff are so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend.

Row House serves up tapas style dishes inspired by costal amid-Atlantic cuisine. The menu is wide ranging and covers everything from a truffle mac & cheese to chicken liver pate. However, the food does not truly live up to the menu's descriptions. There's a blandness to the food as if being prepared by someone still exploring the ingredients' potential. Even the drinks didn't seem to accurately reflect the menu. I will say the jalapeño cornbread was very good, but even this was undercooked. Portion size was also quite small overall. I actually see this being a pretty good restaurant, but the flavors need to be bolder and cleaner. For the quality being offered, I would not be willing to pay these prices again.

Ordered lobster macaroni and cheese disastrous, ordered a scallop entrée receive three medium scallops plated on a extremely large plate I made add pure I thought it was a joke and flavorless I Might add.

Had a great time at Row House. My wife and I were looking for a nice place in Harlem for our date night and stumbled in Row house only to find it's a great gastropub restaurant. Family friendly as well and truly a great neighborhood feel when you walk in. The staff was fantastic. They really were. I had the short rib with root vegetables and my wife had the Arctic char. Both were cooked to perfection. First time experience, on a whim, Row House was great.

My wife wanted to go here for brunch, and so we headed over there with the kids around 11am today. The atmosphere is really great, and they had a jazz trio there that really was excellent (a lead guitarist, a rhythm guitarist, and a stand-up bass). Our server was Daniel, and he was awesome. Very helpful and friendly, and even helped my wife replace her meal after accidentally ordered a dish with meat (she's vegetarian). I ordered their 5-cheese grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. I mean it, this was the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had. And I have eaten a lot of grilled cheese in my life. If I remember right, it had cheddar, fontina, jarlsberg, gruyere, and parmigiana cheese, *and* it had bacon. My daughter got mac n cheese, and I'm pretty sure I ate half of it (maybe 3/4). I would recommend Row House. It's a really great find. Family friendly, excellent service, and top-notch food.

I took one of my friends there for his birthday and boy did we have a great time. It's a little pricey for drinks but great service and food. We had a 6:30 reservation that I booked on OpenTable so when I checked in I gave me name. However I received a call at 7 asking if we were going to still make it 😧. I told the person I was there eating and I'm sure they heard all the background noise. Anyway the next day I received a email again saying I didn't show up. I guess it's no big deal but they might need to work on their check in process.

My fiancé and I chose Row House as our venue for one of the most memorable afternoons of our life: the meeting of our two families. We (us as a couple and his family) live in the neighborhood. My mom and siblings came to visit from the Midwest for dress shopping (eek!) and wedding planning. Far superior to these superficial practices was the proposition of joining our families for the very first time. The Row House went above and beyond to make it the most memorable and joyous occasion. Service was superb! Every staff member was genuine and sincerely cared about our experience. The brunch menu was fantastic! There were about 15 of us and not one person wasn't raving about their meal. Moses, the manager checked in on us several times to make sure the experience was perfect which meant a lot. His passion is contagious and we appreciated his hospitality. The wine and cocktail menu was the icing the cake of an unforgettable experience! I cannot wait to return to what undoubtably is our new neighborhood favorite.

I really like this new addition to the neighborhood. The burger is grassfed and delicous. Service was prompt and they have great happy hour deals. I’ve been a few times already. My most recent visit was for brunch. The shrimp and grits were not my favorite but I would definitely come back to try another item.

don't know where to start. great cocktails (try the "a little bit deadly" 13$), fantastic corn bread (8$), and the beef quesadilla, tuna tartare (both 16$), kale salad... yum! add the friendly service, and you have a must go :)

5 of us rolled into the place without a clue. We all found the service and food to be excellent, the waitress was really good, very helpful and the food was really tasty. CHEERS from some British dudes on tour :)

Food was not very good, and service was weak. Nice room but how do you serve old oysters? "Market Salad" was sort of old tasting too and overdressed. Really a sloppy effort. Too bad.

A lovely family Sunday brunch the day after we landed in NYC. Sunday 10th April, booked well in advance (you have too). A busy, noisy and lively place, with a real Harlem / Jazzy atmosphere and Soul-food influence. A nice table with bench seats and plenty of space. Our children took the Cheddar burger: large portion, medium rare cooked as requested, tasty. We chose some shareable dishes: deviled eggs, soy sesame wings, jerk shrimp tacos and crab cake. All nicely prepared, tasty, well seasoned and plentiful portions. 2 glasses of Chardonnay + soft drinks to accompany our meal ... for a final bill just below $130. Service is courteous, cheerful and efficient. With great Jazz music band (offering drumsticks to my son who plays drums and was watching / listening them closely). A must-go!!

We came here on the first warm evening this year. Even though it was only 5.00pm, the place was packed. Fortunately we had reservations, and were seated promptly. The hostess informed us that our server was busy, and took our drink order. The drinks arrived shortly after. Fine so far. Then we waited. Our friends arrived a few minutes later, and we waited again. Still no sign of our server. Normally we would use this free time to chat with our friends, but the noise level was so high that we gave up. Finally we got tired of waiting, so one of our party went to the hostess and told her that we still hadn't seen our server. She fetched the server, who took our order. The food turned up relatively quickly. It was OK: nothing special. The fish tacos contained the tiniest piece of cod that I've ever seen. We ate without making conversation. We just couldn't hear each other - the place was as noisy as a boiler factory. Not a place for a quiet chat.

the atmosphere is contemporary, waitress was wonderful, bathrooms plentiful and spotless. Best French fries Ever! delicious burger, salads and mac and cheese.

We felt fortunate to get a table at a crowded Row House but our optimism soon vanished. The steak was too thin and fatty and the service left a lot to be desired. Waiting 30 minutes for the main course was not enjoyable and then it was not prepared very well. Too bad, it's a nice looking place.

Harlem has a multitude of restaurants. That doesn't mean they are good - in fact, generally the service is middling to poor and the food is overpriced, sometimes dramatically so (Red Rooster, Cecil, Minton's, Sweetbird cough cough). Then, you stumble into a reasonably priced and delicious brunch like the one at Row House with friendly and prompt staff and good grub and it's like a miracle. I'm looking forward to going for dinner. I also had left my credit card there and they had kept it in the safe, even though I returned a week later to pick it up. Keep up the good work, RH!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The service was warm, fast, and super attentive, and the wait time was surprisingly quick. The atmosphere was comfortable and inviting, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality you get. However the DJ was terrible.

My stepdaughter recommended this cozy little corner restaurant. I was shocked to find that you have to make reservations at almost every restaurant for breakfast and lunch. But that is not a negative, I’m just mentioning it for whoever reads this that hasn’t been to NY in a long time. Let me get to the good stuff. It’s all good. First let me say, I don’t drink faucet water, I didn’t drink NY water when I lived there, but I drank the water at the restaurant. The glasses were clear, no water spots, and the water was crisp and clean. That is a huge plus. The live entertainment, old school mix with youthful soul was a bonus. Everyone in the place was rocking and singing along. The band was awesome. The selection of drinks with the main entrees are a plus but the actual drinks were amazing. 5 stars for my Bloody Mary. Now about the food. We all ordered the Shrimp & Grits, Steak and Eggs, and a Belgian waffle. The food was absolutely deeeeeelishous!!! The Shrimp and grits was smooth, mildly spicy, generously topped with shrimp and andouille, a delightful and mouthwatering combination. The steak was tender and well cooked. My eggs were done to perfection. I haven’t had them done right the first time in years. The salad was fresh with light olive oil so it didn’t fill you up and you could actually finish your food. The light brown waffle was crispy but not overcooked, moist inside, and still hot. Very, very impressive. I can’t say enough. I only saw two servers but they were very attentive and the wait time to be served was less than 20 minutes. You didn’t feel rushed and could actually enjoy all this cozy place had to offer. Kudos to the “Row House”.

Had a large group, and and we were accommodated nicely, even though 3 other large groups were present and a private party was going on downstairs. Our server recommendations for food and drink were very good. I enjoyed the mussels, and my friends' lobster Mac and cheese and fries were tasty. I plan to return during warmer weather and take advantage of the outdoor seating. Great place!

Sat outside, and had a variety of dishes including the Spanish Octopus, all dishes are good for sharing. Very pleasant waitress, who replaced our Steak Bruschetta when it arrived well done, apparently it usually comes rare, but had no problem replacing it. Decent wine list too! Pleasant outside patio.

We had 13 people taking my mom out for her birthday. We asked that all the food come out together. It didn't . Some of the food was not warm. One of the plates came about half hour later then everyone else's even though we complained. Some of the more expensive plates were short on quantity. Based on this service I would not recommend this restaurant.

This was my second visit to Row House. Their mac and cheese is definitely my favorite. I would return for the food and atmosphere. On Thursday nights, there is a band which is awesome! The one thing that I did not like was that a patron was allowed to bring a large dog. I'm not sure if she worked there and was off visiting a co-worker but when I mentioned it to the hostess, she said sorry but didn't ask her to leave. That is extremely unhygienic.

Went to Row House in Harlem. The device was brilliant. Good food great drinks and a jazz/ swing band playing. The music was loud but I loved that. The food was good .. my steak was a bit chewy for medium rare but that happens. The service was brilliant. I put a 20 in for the band on the way out but there was only another 5 in the box . Cmon ppl If you are enjoying the music give them a tip. I’m from London U.K. and tipping isn’t our culture but it is the American way so tip those ppl they are Gooooooooood . Cheers Row House . You done us proud definitely a five star experience.

This was my first time at Row House meeting up people for drinks and an event and it's a charmer in Harlem. It's stylish and cozy with a great atmosphere. There even was a private party in the basement lounge and you couldn't hear any of the noise from that event which was good to know. Every dish that passed by looked delicious. My group did have drinks and a few of us caved and got food opting for the cheeseburger and shrimp mac and cheese. I definitely want to go back for dinner.

Had the sriracha honey meatballs and they were very tasty. We actually ended up ordering more. They have a great rose wine and the drinks are delish. We drank and ate so much we spent 6hrs there. Will definitely return!

While on vacation in NYC where I used to live I decided to take my lil sister on a brunch date at row house. I enjoyed the vibe of the place, a band was playing and the food was very tasty. However it was very noisy other than that great service and great food.

I stopped by this nice restaurant on my way back home and it was a nice discover! The place is really nice inside and the hamburger was delicious! Great service and good Sangria!

Row House offers a good Sunday brunch and has a jazz trio. The menu offers some solid a variety of appetizers. The chicken wings, fish tacos and crab cake were all great choices. For entree the chicken and waffles are always a good selection.

Nice decor (I love the white washed bricks). Interesting menu with nice combination of surf and turf. My tuna tartare was excellent. Jumbo grilled shrimps were good (just a bit overdone), with a generous serving of great fries. Creme brûlée was very good. Excellent selection of draft beers and wines. Good service. Nice bar view and few outdoors tables complete the setting. A bit noisy, makes conversation sometimes a bit hard to have. Reasonable prices for a very good and well presented food.

The best time we've had in ages. Loud and proud and insane and yet still family friendly. The food is really good too. A complete blast.

This was my first visit to Row House. I walked in and was impressed by the decor right away. The vibe is real chill. Although I came here for dinner it is a good place to just have drinks too. They have a pretty extensive drink menu. I had the fall harvest salad and it was yum yum! Then I had the shrimp and grits (which was pretty good) but the grilled octopus with potatoes took the prize for the evening. It was delish! My friend had the burger and said it was good also. Great neighborhood spot for a good meal or drinks. I will definitely dine here again.

My husband and I had a tasty and nicely-priced brunch al fresco at this lively Harlem restaurant: Delightfully fresh chopped salad and plenty good shrimp and grits (which however, should have had a few more shrimp!!). (Just sayin'.) Best of all: peanut butter & chocolate mousse cake. And my heart's desire: draft Guinness!

The Row House has quickly become our favorite go-to neighborhood restaurant. It's walking distance from our apartment, the menu is delicious and it's more spacious than most NYC restaurants. We've now visited 6 times, and each time we go we leave happy with the meal we have selected. A few standouts for us are the New England lobster roll sliders, the stuffed mushrooms, the truffle grilled cheese and braised short ribs. It's gets a little loud at times, but along with the good food and drinks, the lively crowd and great decor make for a nice night out.

The location is great. Our server Briana was great and very accommodating! We decided to come for brunch on a Sunday. The appetizers when we dined here were definitely better than the entrees. We had to send 2 of our meals back due to the taste and quality of it. Our server > Briana understood and politely took everything back. Won’t be dining here again but it’s not due to the service it’s all due to the quality of the food.

I really enjoyed this place. The ambiance is fun, sophisticated and special. I went for dinner with my friends twice and both experiences were great. They play music on the weekends, sometimes Jazz or perhaps some other type of slow genre of music. I must say the plates are smaller than usual. Its a Tapas menu restaurant, so the objective is to order different small tapas and try a variety of them. I order the Lobster Mac and cheese, wow it was amazing!!!!! The waiting staff is professional and very nice. No complaints! I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Best and stylish restaurant in Harlem
Best American restaurant you can get in Harlem with a trendy city vibe. It feels like you are in west village with good food and drinks. Grew up in manhattan and thought I couldn't get anything like that in Harlem. Well I was wrong. Last time I visited, we had celebrities sitting next to us. Highly recommended!
