Good Ace attention, pasta serving that says 3-4, is for 2. When we went to pay, they didn't accept 50-dollar or 100-dollar bills.

Highly Suggest

Consistently great pizza in New York City. Can I go wrong at this establishment. The wait staff is super friendly and helpful and we’ll go out of your way to make things better

Great meatballs, Good Pizza

By Kaitlin O'Brien |

Walked in on a Saturday around 4 pm as a couple and were seated right away. We started with the meatballs as an appetizer and they were delicious! Then ordered a simple Caesar salad and large classic cheese pizza. Overall the food was very good but we had such high expectations of the pizza based on the other reviews and thought the crust was lacking flavor. We ended up just leaving the crust and not eating it as it was dry and hard. I would definitely go back but would like to try one of the other pizzas on the menu like the supreme.

Sweet spot for a drink and a pie.

Excellent Za and best baked octopus ever. Good drinks, friendly staff, decent prices. What's not to like?

Amazing pizza and service!

By kgway |

I’m a local and love bringing visitors here (when I can get a reservation haha) We had Fidel as our server this weekend and he was fantastic! The arugula salad and tie dye pizza are must haves.

Best pizza in NYC

By hulacherry |

We've had a lot of pizza in NYC, but this hands down was the best we've ever had. We ordered a tie dye and a classic with pepperoni and meatballs. Perfect char on a super thin crust with very fresh ingredients. The staff there hustles hard! We will definitely be back.

Rude front office, good average

By Ruth T |

Pizza is ok. Not the best but not as hoped. Our waitress was pleasant but the front office ladies were awful - so rude and condescending and had no manners. We got there 10 mins earlier so were asked to wait outside which is fine but when we went back in we were told our table still wasn’t ready. Eventually we were shown to the worst table in the place despite other two seaters being available - right next to the pizza ovens so you’re constantly overlooked and at times it was unbearably hot with staff walking past. We had read it was a great place but wouldn’t recommend as food was just average and coming from UK was excited to try better cut of pizza that we get at home but sadly it wasn’t to be

Hidden gem in Little Italy - Avoid tourist traps and head here!!!

By Jorge M |

I had this place on my list to visit in NYC. Place is small, and it was packed for a Sunday afternoon. We came here after a visit to the Brooklyn bridge and were hungry. They gave us a table near the bathroom. There is only one bathroom and there was a queue and also the A/C was blowing right under us so we requested a change in the table. They were very nice and gave us another as soon as it was free which was very nice since the place was full. We had two small pizzas and some appetizers. The pizza was perfection, very enjoyable. Service was friendly and very attentive. Staff are really on top of everything. Would return.

Tasty New York pizza and great service!

By wakeuplaura |

We went to Rubirosa on a Saturday night and were unable to get seated as the restaurant was so busy. However, we came back the following day at 1130 and were seated straight away. The service we received was brilliant, and our local cider and beer were really tasty. We shared a half tie dye, half supreme pizza and it was delicious! I prefer my crust a little less crunchy but we both really enjoyed the pizza.

Never disappoints

Every time we come to NYC we make a point to go to Rubirosa. The Caesar salad is great. Try the Tie Dye. You won’t regret it.

Crowded, small, but oh what an amazing restaurant.

By Lesley B |

We are visiting our son in NYC, I don't eat pizza (only cauliflower pizza), but our son loves this restaurant and wanted his dad/my hubby to try it with him. Very hard to get a reservation, so our reservation was 4:45 which is perfect, because you leave very full. The restaurant is small, a little tight fitting and busy as anything, however they honor their reservations and we were seated immediately. While we have been visiting we went to many upscale restaurants, our service here was the best ever. My husband who loves pizza, could not believe how good it was they got the tie die pizza and hours later still raving about it. I got the caprese salad with chicken, huge portions, could only eat half. I cannot say enough how worth this restaurant is, I can see why it was packed. It will definitely be one we go back to. Just one note, they only have one-one person bathroom, so the line can be long. Not necessarily call it a negative but would want people to know ahead of time.

Best pizza ever and worst stuffed artichoke ever!

By Ozetravellers |

We came here because my teenage daughter told us to (via Tic Tok LOL). they were fully booked but I called and they said they always keep tables for walk ins so we went at 8.15pm sunday night and got straight in (though the restaurant was full). We were excited to order the famous Tye-Dye Pizza... and it was all we expected and more! Best pizza I have had at a store! It was also gigantic! We ordered 2 appetisers and the 18in pizza for 3 of us and we couldn't finish it. BUT we ordered the stuffed artichoke and it was horrible! Undercooked and inedible. The only thing I could eat was the tablespoon of stuffing inside. Sadly, no one cared enough to ask how our meal was or why the plate was mainly left uneaten. It felt like service was mechanical with no genuine caring because they know they are so busy already. Definitely visit but avoid the artichoke!

So worth the wait!

By Tapin7 |

The classic think crust pizza is outstanding! Vodka sauce option is a good twist but can’t top the original. Simple and delicious. This takes pizza to a new level. Wait was over an hour on a late Saturday afternoon but put your name in, walk around the neighborhood, and wait for the text that the table is ready. Tight on space, but somehow the servers come and go with ease. Very attentive and friendly staff. No attitude. Full bar. Only one restroom I could see and there was a line.

Best Pizza Ever!

By Veronica O |

Best pizza I have ever had! I had the tie dye pizza delivered to my hotel and even double dashed other items on the way. I wasn't expecting much but if you love thin crust, cheese, not too strong of that acid tomato. This pizza is perfect for you. I did get a stomach ache the next morning before I ate anything but not sure is this was the cause. I also got the lumache alla vodka pasta and it lacked a bit of sauce/ more on the watery side. But overall I will 100% be going back for that pizza!

A very good address with quality toppings

By JOJOETMARION |

In the heart of Litte Italy, Rubirosa is considered a safe address with fresh pasta dishes but also their large pizzas. Despite our late arrival, we had the opportunity to eat a half arugula-parmesan pizza and another half sausage and tomato sauce. Very good quality pizza paws and a great welcome. This address remains authentic in view of the other restaurants which approach the sidewalk of this district

Good pizza spot

By Tita Elvie |

Cute atmosphere. A great spot for a date or night with friends. The food is good. The desserts are really good too. Hard to get into though!

The perfect Pizza!

By Michael W |

We've been to almost all the hyped "best" pizza places in the city and Brooklynn and this is the best pizza we have ever had! Sometimes the hype doesn't fit, but the tie-dye pizza is amazing. Thin, crisp, the best tomato sauce we've ever tasted, with the vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella, and the little bit of pesto is the perfect combination. Perfection! And if you go for another pizza, the breakfast pizza is amazing too, albeit nothing compares to the tie die!

New GM’s Michele and Eric are making things smoother than ever ! And it’s already great !

By Luxury Global Reviews |

Still hands down excellent Italian food in NYC. Can’t go wrong. Great service and vibe. New General Managers Michele and Eric are making things smooth. Excited to go back.

Incredible pizza and vibes - reserve in advance!!!

By MJ |

Fantastic ambience and genuinely delicious food. Our apps, pizzas, and dessert were all super fresh and we really appreciated all the cute touches throughout (like free apps through Resy and the little pizza box at the end). My ONLY qualm was that by the time we were seated, it felt like half the staff was angry / frustrated with one another, and we could not hear each other because of the severe banging of plates from the kitchen near our seats. Given how busy this place is, the fast-pace and stress are totally understandable, and we were grateful to have even been seated without a reservation, but because of it, I’d suggest arriving a little earlier and for SURE reserving far in advance (at least 5-7 days). All that being said, I still wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Such delicious pizza and more!

By Psyprof51 |

Always crowded and feels rushed to some extent, but worth it because the food is so good! The pizza is superb, but everything we have tried, from most all of the appetizers to pastas, is delicious and fresh.

Best pizza!

By Ard2510 |

Pizzas are the best! Loved the pizza with arugula and balsamic drizzle. The tie dye pizza with pesto was awesome as well! The carbonara was a little too buttery for me. Good service and awesome food.

Best pasta ever.

By Lisa M |

This restaurant was recommended and did not disappoint. Seating is limited and we were crammed against a wall with no air conditioning upon us. It was soooo hot, but no one wanted to leave in my party. So glad we stayed. Pizza was very good even thought the thin crust was a bit burnt. We had pasta with mushrooms which was absolutely out of this world. I’m Italian and it was the best pasta I have ever had. Waiter was at rebrand really friendly. When I’m in I’m the area I will definitely return.

Not as good as expected

By chash17 |

We walked through the door of Rubirosa and were treated very nicely. With the exception of our server, who was also very nice, it went down from there. Granted we were there on a hot day, but it was very hot inside—I was constantly wiping my brow. We started by ordering two glasses of red wine, which were too warm to enjoy. We’ve eaten in a number of NYC restaurants during this most recent heat wave and haven’t experienced this heat in a restaurant or very warm wine. We started with baked clams. We researched “best baked clams” in the NYC and Rubirosa popped up. I often go to the fish market and make baked clams—an old time NYC dish—so I was anxious to try them. Big disappointment: for twenty dollars you get six tiny clams and it was debatable whether there was clam meat in each shell. At best, they were the tiniest morsel of clam I’ve ever eaten. We ordered a pizza that was half tie-dye—a cheese pizza drizzled with pesto—and half arugula with slices of Parmesean, tomato and balsamic vinegar. The taste of the tie dye was good, not great. I thought the balsamic overwhelmed the arugula portion, which had an enormous amount of Parmesean. As far as arugula pizzas go, I’ve had better. I must also add, Rubirosa’s pizza is considered a style that is popular in Staten Island and features a crackery crust, which some folks love. I prefer a pizza that is a little chewy and can be folded. When folded this style tends to crack. So, for a pizza experience, it wasn’t what I expected and for $33—there are many good, lower-priced pizzas options in NYC—I expected an incredible pizza. For the amount of money spent, I was disappointed. One final thought, this is a young hip spot and the young folks really seem to be enjoying themselves. I’m a senior, and if, like me, you don’t enjoy the pounding beat of music throughout your meal, you might try another spot.

This is your “go to” pizza place

By tms215 |

Go here for what they do best, thin crust pizza. Maybe the thinnest crust in the city. It is small but not noisy. The waitstaff is friendly and efficient. You can find inexpensive bottles of wine from the limited menu and there is a full bar. They have braciole on the menu which is unusual and very good. The sausage and broccoli pie is nice but the tie dye pizza is outstanding. If you are in this area, you won’t be disappointed.

An Italian that changed my life

By Gio_Tabarini |

This place blew my mind with the best Italian food I ever had! The tie dye pizza is definetely one to try! Service was simply amazing

Great Pizza and Great Service

By Shelton5765 |

We heard about this restaurant on a food tour and decided to stop in for lunch. The place is small but inviting. The staff was warm and friendly. We ordered the tie dye pizza. It was a beautiful pie that tasted even better. The sauce was flavorful and the crust was crispy. The 14 inch pizza was plenty for two. This restaurant will be a frequent eating spot for future NYC trips.

As good as my last visit in 2017, was happy to see Rubirosa like an old friend. Stuck to the pesto pizza, amazing flavours and huge pie size. Service friendly at the bar and comfortable seating. Brother had spaghetti which he really enjoyed - he has been back twice since!

Mulberry Street Classic

By A J |

I've been here many times over the years, both for solo dinners at the bar and meals with friends. It's always packed, there's usually a wait (unless you get there early and can squeeze in at the bar), but it's worth it for the lively atmosphere and great food. Never been disappointed by the pizza, pasta, salads or wines, and the service is efficient but friendly.

Must have!!!

By T M |

We had a party of 10 so we made reservations for the first seating and it was definitely necessary as there was a line formed prior to opening. Service was fast and helpful to make sure didn't order too much. We had the supreme pizza, the classic pizza and an assortment of pasta. Everything was amazing! EVERYTHING! This place is a must try!

Best pizza ever

By James H |

If you love Pizza this is the place for you. Only slight issue id say is girls at front desk very rude and not at all friendly but i let that go as the pizza was waiter that served us was very nice.

Outstanding food

By Craig P |

We visited Rubirosa for the first time and I have to say it was the best pizza I have ever tasted. It was that good we went back the next day!!!

Good food, but not worth the hype

By Elf |

This was one of the top restaurants I wanted to visit during my trip to NYC. I booked as soon as the reservation became available more than a month in advance so I wouldn't miss out. I wanted this place to blow me away but unfortunately it didn't. Don't get me wrong, the food was nice - we tried both the pasta and pizza. However, there are other restaurants that aren't as busy/popular that would be just as good. Also, being Australian I don't care much for service, but when you are tipping 20% you would hope that there is a little bit more service than just taking your order and bringing the bill to you when asked. Not once did they come around to see how we were going or fill up the water - especially considering we had quite an uncomfortable seat being at the back of the restaurant right against the kitchen and pick up point for the pizzas. But don't let that stop you from going - they make good pizzas - thin and crispy. Though I enjoyed Joe's pizza just as much.

Very long wait!

By Culture04285049639 |

We had previously visited Rubirosa as a couple in April last year, and wanted to go again and bring the children (10, 13, 16). We never booked and turned up on a Tuesday at 6.15pm. We were told to expect a 90 - 120 minute wait, and so left our number and went away shopping. Unfortunately it ended up being a 3 hour wait, which wasn’t ideal. The lady on the front desk wasn’t helpful until she could see how fed up we all were through waiting this time. She was quite abrupt too before. The food and service once we got seated though were great. I think the situation could have been handled better though from a customer service point of view.

Missing the mark

By Laura R |

Disappointing. Cutthroat business not even close to Italian welcoming spirit. It’s as if they’re doing you a favor by letting you eat there it’s the weirdest vibes. Have been there 4-5 times it’s always the same. They literally managed to insult all 3 in our party and we are easygoing. That was the last try unfortunately because it’s a cute place. Lots off other good Italian places nearby

Enjoyable experience

By Sam&Jess |

We had antipasti for starters then we had a 18" pizza with rubirosa special on 1 half then bianca on the other. The pizza was very delicious. Although the pizza's are extra thin it was more than enough to share. I would highly recommend rubirosa if you love your pizzas thin and crispy! Booking is essential if you want guaranteed entry.

Excellent Food and friendly service

By Mischeu |

We were on a father and son weekend in New York. We by accident stopped by this nice, cosy restaurant. Very friendly service. But even more important is the excellent food. Self made pasta and also the pizzas are unbelievable and freshly made. For me one of the best Italian restaurants in New York. Strongly recommended.

Excellent pizza with Gluten Free option

By Léo L |

Excellent pizzas, smiling staff who take care of the customers perfectly (they put water back in our glasses without even realizing that we have none). Possibility to choose pizzas half and half is interesting because they look all good. They offer pizzas with gluten-free flour (they have an entire gluten-free card) for almost the same price which is rare in the neighborhood. The price is high but for normal eaters a pizza for 2 is more than enough. I recommend it.

Best pizza in Little Italy

By Babybike2001 |

I was visiting Little Italy in New York with my wife and we decided to visit this restaurant because the reviews were excellent on social media. The wait was about 45 minutes to be seated. The restaurant is somewhat small, when we were seated it was in the bar area, as it was at full capacity. The customer service from the bar staff was excellent. We decided to order the Tie Dye pizza and added prosciutto. To start with, the crust is very thin, delicious, and crispy, and the quality of the sauce and pesto gave it a mix of exquisite flavors. This place deserves the highest rating. I recommend it to you!

Great atmosphere, good food but poor service.

By FizzandPop |

Arrived without a reservation at 3pm and had a 30min wait for a table. (We went to another bar as they text when your table is ready). We were very shocked but very happy we managed to get in at all as we only stumbled upon this place on our walk back to our hotel. The restaurant definitely has a great atmosphere to it, the food was good but the service wasn’t great. We ordered a calamari appetiser, pasta and a pizza, plus 3 drinks. The pasta arrived first, then 15 mins later a glass of wine. Then the calamari came about 15 mins after that. We had to chase the other drinks and finally the pizza arrived much later. Thank goodness we were all happy to share the dishes!! Despite wanting more drinks we ended up just paying and leaving as it the services seemed really disjointed and slow.

Delicious pizza in little Italy

By Alexandra S |

We had here our first meal in New York and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is really nice and has the vibe of an old italian pizzeria. Keep in mind that the pizzas are huge. We ordered 2 small ones for 3 persons and at the end we were full. We had the house “Rubirosa” pizza and the one with mushroom and arugula. But everything around looked amazing.

Brilliant Italian restaurant

By NICHOLAS T |

This is a really cool Italian restaurant in little Italy. The place is compact and when we went on a Tuesday night it was busy with a great atmosphere. We ordered a three colour pizza, egg plant parmigiana and carbonara pasta. Delicious fresh bread was also served with our meals. All of the food was spot on; the wine was superb and the service exceptional. The bill was also reasonable.

For pizzalovers!

By Monique d |

Very tasty, crispy and mega pizzas. All fresh ingredients: fresh tomatos, fresh cheese, mozarella, rucola, basil leaves, name it. Very very tasteful! Make timely reservation or be prepared to wait for an hour before seated. But: its worth the waiting time!

Pizza on point!

By Alex |

We shared two different pizzas, both vegetarian friendly, and it was such a pleasing experience, from the quality of the food to the atmosphere in the place. Would highly recommend to anyone stopping by NYC.

Poor service

By Renan B |

If you like to be treated like sh1t by the hostess, this is the place for you. If you like to wait 30 outside outside in the rain (cause they don’t have space to wait) to be seated at the bar with tables around you around you available, this is the place for you. And don’t dare asking that to the hostess, cause she will threaten to put you in a even longer waiting list. Like if it was the only restaurant in the city. So we had to leave before even get the chance to eat, to avoid another humiliation.

A surprise!

By Madmoseille |

We stopped at this place by pure chance and I must say that we did well! We ordered a pizza, skeptical about the quality .. instead, against all expectations, it was really good! Friendly staff and average prices in New York. Recommended.

Best Pizza in Manhattan

By Brad |

Ate here a couple of times last week on a business trip. I’d heard others call it the best pizza in Manhattan, and it lived up to the hype. Had the vodka pizza both times, and the sauce is absolutely amazing. The large is massive, but the pizza is paper thin so it’s not too much food. Also had the braciole and caprese, and they were also very good, but the portions were a bit small for the price. They’re available on door dash which allows you to escape the crowds and enjoy a delicious meal after a long day of site seeing.

Was good not great, noisy when full

By SwissAirTraveler |

We have liked to eat here and our server was nice and friendly. The thin crust pizza was good but I prefer thicker pizza. The spaghetti and meatballs were good too. A bit noisy at night as it’s rather small and packed. Only 1 toilet for the restaurant. Overall a good experience but will not come back.

Overrated , bad experience

By Labros |

Not a good experience ... We had a reservation tonight after three weeks of trying (I had a reservation for the dinning room), we came to the restaurant 10 min earlier ... Asked for our table and we were escorted to a table with stools (high tables) , when I asked for a proper table in the dinning room as per our reservation , we were told to go outside and wait for 8 min , in the meantime , people without a reservation were seated in the dinning room & when we went back we were seated at a table next to the delivery area , and during the 60 min we stayed for Dinner we had constantly someone over our head passing boxes ... As for the food , it was mediocre at best - Octopus appetizer was decent , the Garlic Knots were completely uncooked , while the fried & stuffed artichoke was inedible ... The main course (pasta family style) was bad , a few pieces of meat and very few pasta shells ... All in all, we paid $200 for an overrated restaurant

Full of mama’s flavours! Don’t miss this place.

By BigBadNad |

Listen carefully, this place is difficult to reserve for but don’t be discourage try and try again and again as it’s worth it as your taste buds will be very happy! So we could not get in with a reservation and showed up mush later around 9:30 and we were able to get a table at the bar. I was with my daughter and both of us love Italian food. The pizza is really tasty try the tie dye super and the Rubirosa suprime a delight to the senses. We weee there on a Sunday and there was the Sunday only special sauce just like my Nona made when I was a child. We added the Cesar and can’t say anything wrong with it o could suggest that they add some cooked prosciutto with a cost it would be the cherry on the Sunday! Don’t change anything with the dressing it’s perfect. For desert we had the begnet that came with Nutella and a strawberry sauce my daughter was raving about it. The cannolis were so fresh and you can tell hand made. Do not miss this place or you want a taste of the real Nona cooking.

Always on my itinerary for visitors to the city

By kgway |

This is one of my favorite spots to take visitors as a local. The arugula salad and tie die pizza are must haves and every guest I take here loves it!

Great birthday dinner, great service

By Jessica L |

Very difficult to book. Reservations open at midnight 7 days in advance and sell out in the first 10 minutes for dinner. The only spot I could find was at 9:00. I was wondering if all this hype was worth it, and the answer is actually yes. The place is small, that's why they don't have many places, but it's nice. The food was good, we got the iconic spaghetti and meatballs in the family version, which saves a lot of money. They were good, the meatballs really sublime. The service was great, it was my birthday, the blonde waitress was so sweet and they even brought me small pizza-shaped chocolates with candles for the occasion. Very sweet. Even the starter offered at the beginning of the meal was good, focaccia with oil that does not have much to envy to home oil. In my opinion it is worth coming here to eat well with good service, rather than in the tourist restaurants of Little Italy street. Highly recommended!

Italian Comfort Food Done Well

By Juliette H |

A lively restaurant serving excellent pasta and thin-crust pizza. The flavors are bold, portions generous, and the atmosphere energetic without feeling rushed.

Great Pizza!

By headduckd |

Pizza was fantastic, service was outstanding and just a real nice atmosphere. Had the tye die pizza and really enjoyed it. Also had an order of the pasta in meat sauce which was also very good. We will be back!

Get your reservation!

By Kim B |

We loved this place. I think it was our favorite meal of the whole vacation! As a group of five, we never would have been able to eat there without a reservation. They take reservations seven days in advance, and they open at midnight. I’m really glad that my husband logged in at midnight to get our spot because by 8 AM all spots were gone for the day that we were visiting. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so flavorful! We had prompt service as well. Highly recommended!

New favourite.

By Terri |

We visited Rubirosa in May after hearing good reviews. We booked 40 days in advance and were pleased we did. Our waitress was welcoming and friendly and explained the menu and options too us. We ordered ricotta ravioli with butter and a large vodka tie dye pizza. Food was delicious, I will be recommending this place to everyone who visits NYC. On our next trip we will have to visit more then once.

Best Pizza in NYC

By Nathan H |

Little Italy’s hidden gem!!! We never EVER miss an opportunity to come grab a pie or two and rice balls. You haven’t eaten pizza until you’ve eaten here.

NYC AUG23

By Manish G |

Had a tough time getting a reservation, and once I did, I had to replan my day as I was told its a must eat. the pizza was perfect, with a thin crust and excellent sauce, ordered a half margerita and half supereme. Service was super, and the host was also kind enough to recommend some local coffee shops around the neighbourhood.

Great atmosphere, even better gluten free pizza!

By Katelyn T |

Came here while on a work trip. Even on a Wednesday, there was a wait, but I was able to get a single seat at the bar without waiting. While there were many options for gluten free meals, I opted for the traditional cheese gluten free pizza. It was great, a very crispy thin crust with traditional sauce. It was the quintessential NY Italian pizza I was looking for!

Service was great

By Stacey H |

Came here with some friends to enjoy dinner. Service was great. Pizza was excellent thin crust. The vodka pizza was my favorite. The calamari was wonderful. Also the dessert portions were so generous! Can't wait to come back!

Absolutely Amazing

By Beej |

We were in little Italy during some sort of street festival. It ended up being a pleasant surprise and we came across Rubirosa’s tent outside their restaurant on the street. It was beautifully decorated with lighting that made it feel so romantic. We ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer and then ordered pizza. We ordered a large and immediately regretted it when we saw how big it was on another table. When ours came - this was the absolute best pizza I have ever had in my entire life. Thin crust, just the right amount of sauce, cheese and spices. Absolutely outstanding. Also - the 18 inch diameter of the ginormous pizza we ordered? Ya, we ate it all. It was that good. Of all the restaurants we went to in NYC - this one was by far the best and most memorable. I highly recommend.

Rubirosa

By ogjohnkim |

One of my favorite pizza restaurants. Not a slice to go kind of place. It’s usually a long wait for a table but worth it. I used to go the original spot in states island but I like this one better. It’s also way more convenient. Get the vodka pie. I think it’s the best out there

Expensive good pizza

By Smel N. Goot |

Great pizza but very expensive. Good service, small restaurant. In little Italy on mullberry street. Pizza is pricey if good!

You must go here - amazing

By ColinB71 |

Did lots of research to select this place for traditional pasta and pizza and went here first night. It was superb - worth the effort to get a booking - 7 days max book open, but they always have walk in tables you may have to wait.. Had the mushroom pasta and the Tie Dye pizza and we were so happy. The pizza tomatoes have so much flavour, with the vodka sauce which was delicious, And the pesto did not over power. The pizza (large) is massive! Glad we shared it. The pasta was amazing flavour and not full of cream. Fast and hot. So good we went here three times in the trip.

Trying to find NYC's best pizza.

By Omarimore |

Service was great, staff was super friendly and accommodating. My mother uses a wheelchair and, although the spot does not appear accessible, they have a movable ramp that they can pull out. Pizza-wise, we tried the tye-dye, the bianca, and the spicey honey. they were all very savory, thin-crust pizzas. The only thing was that they are WAY too oily. not my preference but we still ate it, and enjoyed them.

Do not miss!

By Susan M |

We were lucky enough to get two seats at the bar at noon. We had Caesar salads, Aperol spritz’s, and a large Tye Dye pizza. Bartender was very nice and attentive. Wonderful atmosphere and well stocked bar. Very happy with our meal.

In a city of good Italian food this one you should try

By Carl E |

It is hard to get a reservation for Rubirosa. They only take them two weeks out. And the wait time for most of the night is 1.5 to 2 hours. We got lucky and went around 5 and they had a table right by the hostess stand. Not a good table but we were happy to not wait. On Sunday they have a special that is is pasta with 4 different meats in it. It was very good and I would recommend it. The cheesecake was good as well.

Excellent NYC Pizza

By Claudia E |

Great little pizza place in Little Italy. The atmosphere felt cozy with the casually perfect service, and the pizza was of great quality for the price.

AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE

By Lauren Trudell |

To start, we got a reservation! Thank goodness! Service was amazing! Our server asked and the chef made an exception for a special dish for my son who is quite picky. It was super busy as always, so we were very appreciative for doing so. All dishes including the pizza were amazing. We also felt very well treated the entire time! I can't wait to go back!

Very good pizza!

By Reno_F |

I know the drill in terms of pizzas and this one is among the best I had the chance to try in the US.

Best calamari and pizza!

By Jenny S |

Can someone say thin crust? Can someone say melt in your mouth calamari fritti? Worth the wait at this little hot spot in Little Italy. Great menu with wonderful variety.

Good but nothing more

By Fajemalou |

The pluses, the decor of the restaurant, the size of the pizzas for 35 dollars per pizza we can easily eat for two. The dough is thin but crispy. The fact that there are some craft beers. The minuses, few toppings and a lot of tomato coulis, personally I prefer pizzas with a little more substance. There is only one toilet for everyone so there can be a line.

Delicious Pizza and a must eat spot for your NYC trip

Utterly sensational! The restaurant only offer reservations 7 days in advance and being from the UK with NY 5 hours behind I had to wake up really early to try and grab a spot - I would recommend being up before booking opens as I was a little late (1am UK time) and got the last available slot which was 10:45pm at night. We went to the resturant on a Saturdya night and the atmosphere was great. From the front desk staff who seated us to our waiter and the bar staff everyone had such great energy! We ordered a tie dye pizza and added pepperoni which was delicious! my husband also got a side of the Brussels sprouts and said they were incredible. For desert we got the tiramisu - which is a bit pricey but I'd say easily 2 (maybe even 3) people could share 1 piece. Our only niggle was the beer, which my husband ordered. Both times it was room temp / warm. My ginger alert on the othe hand was cold. We really really can't recommend eating here enough - 100% add it to your list for NYC ans make sure to get a reservation

The most delicious cracker thin crust pizza!!!

By Susan T |

The atmosphere is quaint and very comfortable. The staff was attentive and professional and the food.... I know there are many different types of "New York style" pizzas. We picked this one because of the reviews of the crust being so thing and crispy like a cracker. That is exactly what we love and Rubirosa did not fail us. This was THE. MOST. DELICIOUS. thin crust pizza we have ever had. I'm so glad I didn't get drawn into all of the other restaurants we ran across on the way to Rubirosa.

Great pizza!

By Laurel L |

A kind barber recommended this restaurant when we were on the hunt for authentic New York pizza...and it didn't disappoint. The pizza was delicious...you could taste the freshness in each ingredient. We also had the antipasto platter, crispy calamari, and rice balls. The Caesar salad was to die for! I only didn't give them a 5 because the space is really tight and felt claustrophobic at times. Great service and great food.

We had high expectations

By schmutaki |

So hard to get a reservation. Finally got one. A bit of a let down. The pizza is very good but not great. Nice thin crust. Tried the broccoli rabe and sausage which was tasty. Supremo pizza with pepperoni and sausage was overloaded and a bit soggy. Tie die was our least favorite. Underdone. Service was fine. Place is expensive and overhyped.

Boom !!!!! Great pizza Lucky me was no line they took us right away ….lucky day For sure top pizza in nyc If you don’t dine in just take a pie to go you won’t be dissapoint

Recommended by a friend and lived up to it.

Really enjoyed the friendly service and excellent food. Obviously popular with local folk, looking at the nearby tables.

Worth The Wait

By CW |

Totally worth the wait. We managed to get a reservation the week before, and we were so excited. Their tie-dye pizza was to die for, and the service was brilliant. Can't recommend enough.

A fabulous choice for lunch.

By Tom_M71 |

My family and I (6 people) went here for lunch around 220pm on a Thursday and were lucky to get a great window table. It got very busy after that and there was a wait list. Overall it was a superb choice. Great Aperol Spritz followed by great food. We shred all plates including Arugula Salad, Octopus, Pizza (vodka, mozzarella & pesto) and a large pasta (mushrooms and kale). Each one of the dishes were fabulous. Would highly recommend Rubirosa for a great meal.

Terrible service!

By Yadira P |

Terrible for big parties! Zero accommodating! 2 hrs long wait and it the end they didn’t want to fit our whole party! Worst attitude from the manager and the hostess!

Bustling pizza/italian place - great for lunch!

Amazing food, fantastic service, super busy and crowded but in a great area. Fairly priced - I would eat here again!

One of the WORST dining experiences

By K B |

One of the WORST dining experiences I've ever had! A trip to NYC was a surprise for my birthday and dinner was booked here based on reviews. I'd have rather eaten out of a Chinatown garbage bag. First i arrived and was seated in a cramped table on top of several other guests. Because of the close proximity even the bussers would knock into your chair. But whatever. The server I don't think liked that I was a single diner so he was very curt right off the bat. I had a few menu questions and he was put out to answer them. I decided I wanted to do a beer appetizer and a regular portion of the black and white pasta. Not once did he ask about allergies or restrictions--he asked all 3 other tables but not me. When I said that I had some and asked if food could be modified a bit so I didn't get sick he said, "sauce is the sauce. You want it or not."

Best so far

We spent a fab weekend in the city for the John Mayer concert. I ate pizza and bagels all weekend but this place had in my opinion the best of all the places we tried, Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. I am planning my next trip to NY just for the pizza. Please do yourself a favor and go there.

Our second visit- nice but disappointing tip experience

By Tom T |

We visited Rubirosa back in 2015 on our first visit to NYC and again yesterday for lunch. This time we booked about two weeks ago and all they had available were Lunch slots which was fine but demonstrated how popular they are. As before service was quick and friendly and the Pizza was great- shared the large between the two of us which was plenty. The IPA they had on draught was fantastic- one of the best I have come across over here. Our bill for a large pizza, a beer, coke and cheesecake slice to share was $61. I put $70 down and intended to leave the $9 as a tip. Unfortunately the waitress decided already she was keeping it as no change was returned?! All in all a nice meal with a great atmosphere- the tip thing slightly soured it for me though- I find it rude to assume you are keeping the change without first being told that is the case.

Great food and even better vibes.

By Jacq B |

I have been here a few times since living in NYC and I love it more and more every time I go. It remains consistent and pleasantly surprises me every time. My family and I love eating here. It is always super busy so if you can't get a reservation on the Resy app, you should put your name on the list and get a drink near by and come back when your table is ready because it is worth the wait. It's not just good food, but also good vibes. Such a cool restaurant, that has been one of my family's favorites since moving here. I highly recommend doing a family style share when going here because they have so many good things on the menu.

Great pizza in Nolita!

By Margaritalady/pa |

Loved the pizza at this little restaurant. Got in without a reservation at 5 o'clock. There was a line outside afterward. Had the 1/2 Bianca, 1/2 Tie Dye--both were great with a thin crispy crust. . Sat in the back by the kitchen, which was actually a little roomier than the front section.

Great for someone with a gluten allergy

By Susan n |

Nice spot. Very small and crowded. No children’s menu. Everything can be made gluten free. My daughter loved the gluten free pizza. My son and grand daughter ordered pepperoni pizza and really enjoyed it. I had the spaghetti and meatballs. Good portion. Meatballs were very good.

Classic NYC pizza

By IntlTraveller21stc |

Forget Neapolitan style pizzas, this place offers NYC style pizzas through and through. The interior feels absolutely timeless and perfectly suits their offering. As well as pizzas they also have lots of salads, soups and antipasti, however, of course the pizza is the real draw here. The bases are beautifully thin and the toppings super tasty. In fact it was so moreish we ended up ordering a second large pizza! A great choice for amazing pizza.

Excellent everything

By ans |

Excellent pizza, to enter it is better to take reservation, we waited 1 hour and it was worth it. Pizza is big you can order half and half of two options and we ordered the classic and the one with pesto It was the best.. The house salad was also delicious. 100/10 is worth everything

Great Pizza

Great food and atmosphere. The pizza sauce was very fresh with amazing flavors. Service was fast. Staff was very helpful.

Bad service undermines everything

By Stephen |

Rubirosa in SoHo serves without doubt the best spaghetti and meatballs anywhere. It’s a nondescript gem that’s a favourite hangout for locals (recommended by a local a few years back). No reservations accepted. Leave name and cell number at desk and be told - gulp - up to two hours for a table for two. But it’s ok because the spaghetti is so damned good. Last night we had a repeat experience though the two-hour wait was reduced dramatically to 30 minutes which meant downing the scotch we were having at the nearby Spring Lounge - think Cheers! where everybody wanted to know our names, including a very flirtatious straight couple taking a rather keen interest in me. But I digress. We headed back to Rubirosa eagerly anticipating a late supper (thanks, Air Canada … see a different review). We were seated in the worst possible table next to the pizza oven in the farthest reach of this long, cavernous space. But we didn’t mind because we were about to have the best spaghetti ever! We ordered a large bowl of the perfectly cooked - al dente - pasta with perfect marinara and divine meatballs. The waiter seemed interested. A young rakish-looking man who appeared attentive enough. We ordered a couple glasses of cab sauv and waited perhaps 10 or so minutes before dinner was served, brought out by a runner. OMG. It was divine. We dove in and began devouring. Part way we paused and wondered about the wine. Couldn’t get her loser waiter’s attention. I must admit that the pasta was too good to be bothered. But I was bothered. We had been ignored for the evening. Not even a cursory, is everything alright? Nothing. We decided it was time to go, no wine. No dessert. Another waiter approached and said that he was taking over. The other loser was still prancing around at the bar. Nary a glance. We requested the bill. Not only is the pasta listed ,but the two phantom glasses of cab sauv AND bread pudding (I hate bread pudding). The table next to us had that. The new server made the correction and we paid the exact amount only. I don’t think that I have ever not tipped. In fact, I know I haven’t. Servers work hard, well all but the loser at Rubirosa, so I reward them appreciating fully that not all waiters are equal. It’s part of the dining out experience. But make a modest effort to show that your customers matter - at least their gratuity.

Superb

By lucycan |

First time here. Local place. Seats at the bar, some tables, and a back room overlooking the kitchen window. The pizza looked AMAZING but I got the spaghetti and meatballs. It was, perhaps, a top 10 pasta dish for me of all time. And I'm 50 and have been to 60 countries. YES, it was that good. Can't wait to go back!

One of the best pizzas in NYC

By DGHotelier |

Tried this pizza place for the first time and loved it. No wonder why they are ranked one of the top 20 best pizzas in NYC. It has a very crunchy thin crust. I would recommend doing half & half to try two different flavors. Trying their tie dye flavor is a must!

Eat At Rubirosa!

By vacationhat |

Great Pizza! Don’t miss it when visiting New York! The food and the service was on point! I will definitely be back to try other menu items !

I typically am not impressed with selecting a restaurant using Instagram, but this time I was highly impressed!

By SyracuseNP |

I typically don’t find a great restaurant using Instagram, but Rubirosa was not the case. I started following this restaurant about 6 months before visiting NYC. This was truly a find and we even brought our niece here the next day! Our first day we started off with grilled octopus, which was a great start to our homemade pasta and pizza. We didn’t want to order too much, just ordering for an individual and smaller sized pizza for the two of us, so we paced our two orders. The Fig pizza was surprisingly a 10 out of 10. I wasn’t too found of the second half of soppresata and honey, but each has his or her on likes. It was too sweet for myself and my husband. The homemade pasta Ragu reminded me of homemade pastas I had in Italy. BTW if you are gluten intolerant, like my niece, you’ll have your own menu that includes most of their menu with pastas and pizzas. Our niece remarked how expansive their offerings of gluten-free choice that were available. This place is small, so do consider making a reservation through their website. Consider going off hours too. The place isn’t that big, but the portions are! Gracie Mille Rubirosa for a great Italian experience. We’ll see you on our next trip!

Lovely little restaurant

By traveling_with_kathy |

Read the reviews on TA and decided to have dinner here. It’s a cozy little restaurant on Mulberry. It’s popular as all tables were full at 5:30 on a Tuesday. I had the manicotti antipasti followed by the Butternut Squash Tortelloni. Everything was super flavorful. Since I was in Little Italy I had to have tiramisu. Oh so good.

Attitude! Really bad attitude!!

By manishnri |

I had ordered a pick up on door dash. Got to the restaurant and they really had an attitude. Made me wait outside. And while DoorDash said food is ready, the staff kept telling me to wait outside. Really rude.

What a pity

By Sabria B |

Good atmosphere, friendly staff overall but horrible receptionists. In fact, when a person came to join me, they half yelled at me, they forced a neighbor on me (even though I was holding the place and I had warned the waiter that a person was arriving) and finally they moved me while I was eating… to the place next door! Upset, I didn’t finish my pizza. “Rude persons” facing a tourist

top

By Arnaud |

Very good Italian restaurant We were told 45 minutes of waiting to get a table, in the end it was resolved in 10 minutes. Fair price for NY, very good pizza and pasta, good cold cuts too.

Best Pizza in NY

By Carlos S |

The best Pizza in NY... It is a MUST. Make a reservation beforehand because it is a small place. The waiting list was not bad 10 mins.

Exvellent Italian in the Midst of a Tourist Trap

By Tom Porter |

I'm a Little Italy fan, for the festive atmosphere, but didn't want to waste time in the average tourist trap spots. Found Rubirosa highly rated by this site, so stopped in for an excellent carbonara pasta and a nice caesar salad. Both were about perfect. Service was just ok - not rude, but just going through the motions. Unfortunateky to be expected in such a high traveled place like Mulberry Street. Busy, festive place. I got there early at 430pm, and it was packed within an hour.

AMAZING

By Sarah S |

Wow. Just wow!!! A friend recommended Rubirosa while my husband and I were in NYC celebrating our 20th anniversary. We tried to get reservations, but didn't have any luck so I called the restaurant. The hostess told me we could walk in and put our name on the waitlist. We got to the restaurant and put our name on the list. While we waited, we shopped at the nearby stores. An hour later, we got a text that our table was ready so we ran back over. Our waiter (unfortunately I can't remember his name) was so upbeat and great at making suggestions. We got the house wine (Rubirosso Montepulciano Abruzzo), Mini Rice Balls, and split a pizza which was half Tie-Dye, half Fresca. ALL of it was divine. They even brought us some chocolate covered grapes, strawberries, and blueberries after our meal. It was our absolute favorite meal, experience, and waiter of the entire trip (and we ate A LOT).

Rude Staff

By Aliana B |

Rude rude rude host service. I don’t care if it’s the best pizza in NY if you have a rude staff. At the end, your paying them but I guess they forget about that...very common in NY.

Absolutely delicious

By Stacey E |

Delicious! Took my 3 kids here & everyone loved it. Waitress in overalls was super friendly and accommodating. Friendly staff. Best arugula salad. Excellent meatballs and spaghetti. Caprese salad was on point with the pesto. Chicken Milanese was breaded and cooked to perfection. We will be back.

Best pizza

By Tamara M |

Excellent and the waiter Fidel superrrr thanks for all. The best pizza that I’ve been.🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕🍕. Superrr very Italian food

Worth the hype

By Yodanlys |

I hate dining in hyped up restaurants, but Rubirosa is honestly a staple in NY. Pizza is delicious and super thin. Love the option of being able to mix the pies! The service is also very friendly and attentive. Haven’t tried their pasta dishes yet but most pizzas are tasty. Their wine selection is also top notch.

Fabulous!!

By Tamar L |

This was the tastiest Italian food I have had in ages! We had to wait 45 minutes for a table, but it was worth it!

Great Italian restaurant in NY

By Melie P |

Great Italian restaurant! We went there twice during our stay in NY: pasta like in Italy! And delicious and tasty pizzas to share. The very friendly welcome and the charming place with a great atmosphere! I recommend !!!

Good Pizza, Too Crowded, 1 Bathroom for Entire Restaurant

By Mark N |

I dined here with a larger party on a Sunday evening. Wait time was ~3 hours for a table. The pizza is pretty good, but not worth waiting 3 hours. The one bathroom is a pretty inconvenient if you just want to wash your hands, especially since the restaurant is so busy. I would recommend attending with a small party and sitting at the bar if able. They also have delivery via food delivery services, so you could just eat at your place. Certainly worth a visit, but I don't think we'll make the journey downtown again to eat there.

Razor Thin AMAZING Vodka Pizza

By Betty M |

I am sure there are many great places for pizza in New York, however the Vodka pizza at Rubirosa is the best pizza I have ever had. We asked to add pepperoni. We dined there twice. If my trip was longer would have gone again.

Rubirubirubi!

By Lynne M |

If great pizza was a measure of a great restaurant, then Rubirosa would surely be up there with the best. The honey pizza was a taste sensation, and the classic Margarita got a ten from my teens. My husband (who has hollow legs) almost finished his eighteen - incher, but was beaten by the last slice. The service was impeccable, too. Thank you, Rubirosa, for such a memorable experience!

Fun and delicious!!

By Sherron B |

Our group of six had so much fun and loved the food so much that we just ate and ate (and later canceled dinner—we were still full!). The food is so authentic. My eggplant parm was mouthwatering good (I ordered the appetizer size, which was huge!). Our pizza had an impossibly thin crust and was bursting with flavors. Every dish on our table was a star. We had a cookie sampler plate for dessert, and we devoured it. The almond cookies are still on my mind. What a special meal!!

Great food - but be prepared for long wait - and rude rude hostess!

By MaryBB |

Would be a solid 5 review on meal and experience except for the absolutely unnecessarily rude young hostess! We were with locals who knew you had to get your name in and then have a very long wait. After our 1.5 hour estimated wait they texted to say our table was ready. Two of our 4 walked in and were told they would seat us when all 4 arrived. 2 minutes later we all 4 go in and the salty young hostess practically yells at us and tells us that they said it would be 2.5 hours!! (They had texted us to say the table was ready) She said we would have to Wait!! Meanwhile, thankfully, the manager offered us 4 seats at the bar which we gladly accepted. The service at the bar was extremely pleasant and attentive and our food was fantastic!! The management should address the rude rude hostess as we understand her behavior is a regular occurrence. A shame for that to be the first impression of an otherwise wonderful restaurant and meal. I normally don’t start a review with such negativity but sadly, the experience required it.

Overall Good Experience

By Christy M |

Came in early on a Wednesday because this place is always busy. Food and service were good, but nothing crazy

Fantastic Food -great service

Nice atmosphere and ambiance. Lots of choices.. Delicious pastas and pizza. Staff were very accommodating and Trevor was a great server!! Highly recommend this place!!

Pizza and Pasta

By Aliasblue |

We shared the meatballs, large rigatoni, and a small vodka pizza. Get the large size pasta and you won't regret it. At least 8 other things i want to try can't wait until we come back to nyc.

Maybe second time will be the charm.....

By Girasole S |

PRO: Lively atmosphere, friendly servers, good service, they offer a nice menu of gluten-free pizza for those seeking it. CON: Ordered the octopus, which came out burnt. Sent it back and received another, almost equally over-charred. There's only one bathroom and the waiting line can run along a couple of the dining tables, so watch where you are seated if this matters to you. Had to call repeatedly the week before to book a table (we had a party of 5 and Resy wasn't accepting our request) because the phone often went unanswered and there was no way to leave a message. The staff is really great, the food just okay for all the hype (there is much better pizza to be had elsewhere in NY). But based on all the rave reviews, maybe we will give it a second chance, and sit at one of the bar area high-tops to avoid the bathroom line.

Better than Italy!!

By Emma S |

We visited Little Italy twice during our trip because we loved the food so much! Great atmosphere, attentive waitress and the food was to die for!

Great pizza, local spot

By Cfrulla |

We had lunch here on a Friday. We arrived about 3:30pm and were seated without a wait. It was just two of us. There were only one or two tables open at this time of day. If you are coming with a group, I would definitely make a reservation. My wife and I shared a salad and a pizza. The portion sizes were perfect. We were pleasantly full but not over stuffed. The salad was fresh and delicious. We had the supreme pizza. Perfect thin crust and great flavor. It was a perfect lunch!

Best Pizza I ever had. Vodka sauce and pesto topping: must try!

By Nadja V |

Best Pizza I ever had in my entire life. Perfect thin, perfect sauce, amazing topping. Can’t believe we were so lucky and got seats without reservation. Prices were totally fine. Atmosphere great, service great.

Great food great people

By Fraser H |

Loved the food was super tasty. Staff were really friendly and we ended up going back as we enjoyed our meal so much. Pizzas were great and would also recommend the rice balls.

Worth a visit

By Tor |

If you can get a reservation, make one. If not, come early on a weeknight. We were quoted a 3-hour wait on Saturday night and 30 minutes on a Tuesday evening around 5:30 (we ended up only waiting about 10 minutes). They told us we'd be seated at a communal table, which we didn't mind. I expected it to be a long communal table, but it was actually a 4 person table and the two people who were already seated there were very thrown off when we were seated next to them. Even the food runners thought we were dining together and kept delivering our food to the middle of the table to share (lol). We ordered the pizza and ricotta ravioli. I thought the food was good, but definitely overhyped. I would've been disappointed if we waited three hours for a table. Overall, the restaurant had a good atmosphere, great service, and good food, but I wouldn't return.

That pizza!

By Sabena S |

Located on Nolita, Rubirosa has developed into a much loved Italian restaurant known for their pizza. Wafer thin crusts make it tasty to eat. Beverly and I had lunch here recently. We had one pizza. Half was the Arugula with tomato sauce, red onion, parmigiana and balsamic and the other half was the “Tie Dye” with a topping of vodka, tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto. We shared a refreshing arugula salad announted with a lemon vinaigrette that was quite large. The arrival of the pizza was heralded with joy! We ate well and the one slice left, I took home. Star, our server, gave me a cookie lit with a candle as we skipped dessert being too full. One can get a reservation on Resy for Rubirosa but as it has become so popular it is at times difficult to snag a reservation. I have been having pizza here for decades and in those days walking in to eat was easy. Aurpita and Michelle, the two charming hostesses, made us feel welcome and gave me hope that I would be able to enjoy lunch here once again.

A review...about a cancellation

By WellTraveledNYer |

We had a large party and had to cancel late due to some illness. Rubirosa was nothing but understanding and compassionate. No penalties, no guilt....just top notch customer service. We'll eat there again for sure!

Cozy and delicious

By Dena R |

This place is cozy and the pizza is great. We had pizza, rice balls, and wine and everything was great. Service was average.

Great pizza, very good starters, entrance service to improve

By SebastianWarsaw |

The place is small but cozy. It's noisy but if you have ever been in Italy you'll find it as part of the dinner. I do recommend to order any kind of pizza as it's really delicious. I don't recommend any pasta, but grilled octopus as entrance is really delicious. On the cons side I'd like to share that lady on the entrance is not guest friendly at all. She has informed us they not do booking at all and that we have to come in 45 min to get a table because they will have available one at that time. Finally when we came she has told us that there is no place, because we have to book the table in 30 days prior to our date of dinner (???!!!). I assume she has sold our table to someone else. It was really disappointed because we have invited our friends and recommended the food is really great there but finally we have to choose another place. 5 stars for food, 3 stars for service = 4 in average. Sorry for that.

One of the best pizzas ever!

By rebeccawalker30 |

Really great meal at Rubrisoa, the small is more than big enough for two people, you can also go half and half on the base- try the vodka tomato base! Very hard to get a booking- we tried 2 weeks in advance and couldn't so would recommend getting there for 5/5:30 otherwise you may find you are having to wait a while! Good value also, would recommend to anyone heading to NYC.

Great place. Great vibe

Great place. Service was polite and easy going Food really tasty. My teen kids loved it. Really cosy with great atmosphere

Mind blowing Do not miss!

Mind blowing food and the best atmosphere - get the tie dye pizza for sure and book in advance. What a gem! Do not miss if you’re in NYC!

Dinner gone horrible wrong

By miles r |

The waitress spilt our drinks and an entire bottle of RootBeer on all my highend purchases in Soho that day and only offered a free pizza. The customers around me were shocked and encouraged me to ask for the manager. The manager offered dessert but all my purchases many as well as my wife was soaking in Root Beer and this was shocking they weren’t offering to replace my purchases they said they would dry clean them even though they weren’t dry cleaning items but couldn’t return them to me for a few days being out of the country waiting a few days for them to be shipped to me maybe cleaned or maybe still stained I was concerned about having to pay duty on new purchases with price tags. They offered to only replace one top badly damaged but wanted to own the purchase the service or lack there of was very disturbing in 40+ yrs never been in a situation handled that poorly The restaurant eventually got the owner manager upon my request and was offered one of my many purchases to be replaced the restaurant staff was rude and a horrible handling of the situation. Crap happens but how it is handled an experienced restaurant and assistant and owner and manager failed miserably! Pizza was overrated and loved pizza a block away Prince Street way better and taster and more filling My purchases 2x were badly stained and others took more than one attempt to clean Not to mention my wife was soaking from her shorts sock and shoe and nothing was done. The restaurant focused on doing as little as possible and onlookers were shocked the restaurant did so little We ended up not finishing our dinner and went back to the hotel to try and clean up and change before our dinner show Very disappointing dinner experience and not so memorable pizza looked better than it tasted and I love Pizza !

Decent but nothing special

By James Simon |

Pizza is decent but nothing special. Not as flavoursome as I would have hoped, nothing particularly makes it stand out. Crust was too crunchy and the weakest part of the pizza. I've had dozens of pizzas that were just as good

Best Pizza

By Gurleen |

There is always at least a 45 min wait when you go and impossible to get a reservation, but its totally worth waiting for this pizza. Pizzas and pastas are delicious. We tried the Tie-Dye pizza and it was outstanding! It comes with 3 different sauces, vodka, tomato and pesto with fresh mozzarella. Delicious! The service is great as well so you don't feel bad for waiting so long. They take your order right away and the food comes out pretty quick. @traveleen_gurl

Delicious pizza with great Coeliac/GF options.

By Ned Godfree |

Food was amazing and the restaurant had an absolutely booming atmosphere with great service. The GF menu was excellent and all the options were prepared separately and completely safely - I highly recommend here if you want to enjoy a delicious pizza as a Coeliac. General Rating - 5 Coeliac Rating - 5 Overall Rating - 5

Casual atmosphere - Good Food

By vpvalencia |

Party of 4 ordered salad, pasta dishes and huge pizza. The service was great and the food was tasty. Known for their thin crust pizza, which is not very filling, so try a couple of pasta dishes which come in small or large portions. We stayed at our table for 2 hours and never felt rushed. Food, beer and wine was all very reasonable. This seems to be a locals spot as it was referred by a family member in NYC. No reservations, so you may want to come early, pop in a bar on the street and wait to be seated.

Cosy Italian offering gluten-free pizza

By Tjongo |

Cosy restaurant with real Italian ambiance and good food and beer. They offer tasty gluten-free pizza, not easily available. Fair priced. Would return.

Great food; pizza was amazing.

By asturias2905 |

Great food; pizza was amazing. You can feel the great quality ingredients. The pasta was very good. We really liked the food. The problem is the wait. 90 minutes is normal and the hostess is mean as hell. We were coming back but we found out another Italian restaurant (Ribalta) not so far from it that was even more amazing and for sure we will go back when back to NY

must love thin crispy crust!

By Lori M |

if you don't like very crispy crust give it a miss. this is not my preferred type of crust so the pizza didn't hit it for me. but the tie-dyed pizza was delicious due to the amazing sauce. the sausage broccoli rabe pizza was generously topped and tasted pretty good, but I didn't love it, it was more like a flatbread. our waiter was nice and attentive enough for our needs. it's a little pricy and quite crowded. if you like crispy crust I would recommend giving it a try, otherwise no. btw, could not get reservations but only had to wait about 25 minutes for mid-week lunch.

Fabulous food and atmosphere!

By Izzy T |

This place was recommended to us by someone at the hotel where we were staying. We walked there on the first night but couldn’t get in without a reservation and it was a 3 hour wait! We knew it must be good and 2 days later we tried again while walking near at lunchtime. We managed to get a table and the waiter was extremely friendly and helpful even though he was busy. I went with his recommendation of the carbonara followed by the homemade cannoli and they were both delicious. It had a lovely, busy atmosphere and if we get back to NYC we’ll be booking a table and definitely going again.

Recommended!

By cantwait2visit |

Found Rubirosa via a local’s recommendation. It did not disappoint. Lots of people in small space makes for perfect nyc experience. Specialty pizza was superb! Will be back!

Great service, lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Rubirosa carbonara pasta was great, higly recommended. Authentic italian pizza, thin crust and just the right amount of cheese.

Fantastic!

This classic Italian American restaurant is in Nolita (the quieter neighbourhood to the north of Little Italy) and is very homely and welcoming. Although it specialises in pizza I had the home made pasta (lumache with house ragu) and some outstanding meatballs. The service is super efficient and the food is wonderful! Highly recommended.

Amazing pizza & good gluten free!

Went here for lunch and had fantastic pizza and gf pizza!!! Best we had on the trip! Recommend reservations, as it’s very busy.

Good but there are other good spots out there too!

By jwong25 |

I had a couple friends visiting who wanted to check out Rubirosa. We didn't have a reservation because they sort of like to go with the flow. We get there a little after 7 and it's a 3-hour wait for 3 people. Granted it's a Friday night too, so we put out name down, they took our phone number, and we headed to a nearby spot for some cocktails while we waited. Their estimate was accurate, we received a text message 3 hours later saying our table was ready. I definitely appreciate that they do that. They also give you 5 minutes to respond and then about 10 minutes to make your way there. I feel like all that is super reasonable and makes the overall wait experience a lot more tolerable. The service was overall fine. Nothing outstanding but nothing terrible either, and just the right amount of attention. Food was delicious. We ordered a charcuterie platter with speck, prosciutto, and gorgonzola; the meatballs; and the Tajarin alla Carbonara. Everything was delightful and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Overall, we enjoyed our time. Luckily none of us were super hungry, so the wait wasn't the worst. But that said, I'd probably never come here again without a reservation. And even then, it's only if others want to come. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back. It's good but there are a lot of good places out there, and I wouldn't say it was worth a 3 hour wait. We didn't get to try their pizza, which I know is raved about and is the reason people are willing to wait this long. But living in NYC, there are SO many amazing pizza places, I can't justify spending 3 hours of my time waiting for pizza.

Best Meatballs I ever had!!

By TRULYBLESSEDAT60plus |

After landing in NY and checking into my hotel, I just gradually walked around and was drawn to RUBIROSA’s for lunch. I ordered the meatballs, not knowing exactly what to expect and all I could say was WOW. There were only 3 meatballs but they were humongous and very good by which I was only able to eat two so I brought the rest home for lunch for another day. I sat at the bar as the place was jammed but the server treated me well from the beginning to end. I would recommend this place to anyone searching for Italian Food.

Great Gluten Free choices!

Stopped for dinner, and it certainly did not disappoint. We sat right by the kitchen and it was good to see the traffic and watch all of the activity there. They have a dedicated GF area as well as dedicated GF fryers. I had the GF mozzarella sticks which was quite good for an appetizer. For my entree, I had Cacio e Pepe which was extremely fresh and tasty. The flourless chocolate cake with ice cream was a tremendous dessert to finish the meal. Our waitress was great and timely. Their other waitstaff was always ready to help, take a plate, or refill our drinks, etc. Definitely recommend this to others, especially is you are celiac/gluten free. I had zero issues and the food is wonderful.

Best lunch, best pizza, perfect service!

By HolidayE |

We were running behind for our reservation so we called the restaurant to let them know we would be about ten minutes late. The hostess could not have been nicer, she was so lovely and held our table. Lunch was beyond delicious! Our waitress was awesome as well and recommended a terrific red wine. We had mozzarella sticks and a 14” classic cheese pizza. I can see why the reviews are so good - it was one of the best I’ve had. Super thin, crispy crust. There was a child’s birthday party going on and my daughter and I had fun watching the sweet celebration. How cute! Cool location for a kids party - if you love pizza, then I get it!! We made the reservation a week out when it was allowed bc it was our first choice for lunch during our trip. I would absolutely make this a priority the next time we are in the city!

Worthy of the buzz

Our favorite dining experience in a week of great meals in NYC. Yes, it’s hard to get a reservation but it’s worth it. Part of the charm is the building itself. Near to Little Italy but far enough away to not be touristy. Dining areas that are small and the tables are stacked, but instead of claustrophobic, the arrangement feels like we’re at the world’s greatest neighborhood joint. Everyone is having a great time and it’s contagious. For a group of 5 adults, we shared a Rubirosa Supreme pizza and a Caesar salad and then each ordered our own pasta. Probably too much food but it was so good there isn’t an item we’d skip the next time we go. We also ordered a bottle of the house red (Nero d’Avola) which was surprisingly good; we’d happily order it again on future visits. We all thought the pastas we ordered for ourselves were the best, but I got the Rubirosa Ragu and it was clearly the best. Service was outstanding, from the hostesses to the waiter and support staff. Can’t wait to go back.

Fabulous pizza

The iconic Tie Dye Pizza is to dye for. Simply delicious. The place is small with great atmosphere so reserve a table. Service was good but not fast. We would gladly return.

very good

Great pizzas and a buzzy authentic atmosphere. Only criticism was the imported Italian IPA beer which we were charges $16/ bottle for!

Pizza in Mulberry, downtown

By mastermuzz |

Best pizza we have found on the edge of Little Italy and the price is right. We lucked on a cosy table and were well looked after all night. Good beers too. Be prepared to wait as it is popular for good reason.

Terrible Service, Meh Food and Way Over-Priced

By AllydeLuxe |

This place needs to get over itself. Ridiculous prices for average to bad—worst baked clams I’ve ever had, food. Insultingly sloppy service, too.

Disappointing pizza

By Nano |

We got seated right away even though we didn’t have a reservation because we got there as it opened. We had the vodka pizza with meatballs but I I would say it lacked enough vodka sauce. It was kinda disappointing actually.

Great Gluten Free Options

The BEST gluten free pizza I have ever had!!! Staff was friendly. Atmosphere was iconic NYC. Be sure you make a reservation to be sure you don’t have to wait.

Great Pizza on Mulberry

By Angel M |

I've had some bad pizza on Mulberry. Wasn't sure I would trust picking a spot near Little Italy again but this pizza was life changing. I'm not sure any other pizza spots will compare. Try the Tie-Dye pizza. You won't be disappointed.

Great neighborhood NYC pizza!

By Elizabeth J |

We were exploring during our first day of a Christmas week NYC vacation and spotted Rubirosa. It had such a great vibe and felt authentic so we got on the wait list, which was still over an hour at 3 pm. It worked out perfect for us since we needed a late lunch/early dinner before a 7 pm walking tour. The Caesar salad was perfect, and the tie dye pizza was fun, crispy and delicious. I like thin crispy pizza, not deep dish, so it was a good fit for us. The service was great, too. Highly recommend.

We were last here 2 years

By MTadventure |

We were last here 2 years ago and have been waiting to get back into the city to have more of their great food. Last night did not disappoint. The food and service were great. We started with the Rubirosa house salad which was spectacular. Great flavor. Their Gluten Free pizza is really the best we ever had. We went with the Rubirosa Supreme, Bianca and the Honey Pie. The large pizzas are enormous. We went with the regular size. We also had the stuff Artichoke. We never had that and had to ask our server Ricky how to eat it. He was great. Always attentive to our needs along with the rest of the team. We can’t wait to go back. Their outdoor seating set up is a great addition to their restaurant. If you want great Gluten Free pizza matched with great service then check them out. You will want reservations.

Excellent pizza!

By LindaTours |

This is one of our favorite pizza places in NYC. You can make a reservation which a lot of the other pizza places in the city don't allow you to do. It's always really busy so be sure to reserve a table. Our favorite is the tie dye pizza and we also like the supreme. A super fun place to hang out and enjoy a meal, highly recommend.

Amazing Gluten Free Selection

By Rachel H |

I can only rate the GF menu, but it was extensive, and a real treat for me. The Caesar salad was the creamiest ever, and I will never forget the gluten free pizza. The crust had a great texture , and the sauce was out of this world. The server even gave me an extra lemonade as he noticed I was rather thirsty after cycling 30km on a hot day. Now on a train out of NYC, I only wish I ordered a whole other pie to go!

Great pizzas

Absolutely delicious pizzas, great food and nice service. Interior decoration is nice and lovely, we really recommend this place !

Top pizza

By peter w |

The crowd and the lively noise in this restaurant was a good clue that a decent meal was in the offing. We were not disappointed. Magnificent pizzas (mine was a monster) and my wife who is gluten free was well catered for. The staff were courteous and efficient. Thank goodness for the 'doggy bag' at the end as the portions are generous. The price was also very reasonable for that area of New York. Heartily recommend this place.

good spot

By Lori R |

happened upon this cozy spot around 5:30 the day we flew in. it was way past time for lunch. They had a space for us even though we had no reservation. Delicious food, good service, highly recommend.

Just the best Pizzas!

we landed at JFK, dropped bags off in midtown and headed straight to RubiRosa, What a gem - proper pizza and a great vibe - the Honey Pie Pizza is outstanding! 100% highly recommend!

Worth Every Bite

By J T |

This was recommended to us by two different people and it did not disappoint! The restaurant was a little noisy but patrons near us were kind and we had the most delicious dinner. We cannot get this type of pizza where we live so can be critical and grateful. There are no complaints on the pizza or salad (including size - fed 3 of us!). They offered to split our pizza and prep in two halves which was perfect for us. Wine and appetizers were delicious, as well. We had the calamari and loved it! The marinara used for that dish was incredible! I am dreaming of having this again soon...
