After walking around Central Park, our family wanted to grab lunch before a show. Saw Rumours, looked at the menu posted on the window and decided to try the place. Glad we did. Menu is full of choices - hubby had Cuban steak sandwich, I had chicken Parmesan sandwich, one kid had Philly cheesesteak, the other had a chicken BLT wrap. All were good - the bread/roll the sandwiches come on is very good. Prices were very reasonable for NYC. Nice atmosphere. Would return.

OMG!!! What a night! I went to Rumors with two friends for "Galentine's night" on Friday!! It was amazing! There was a DJ on and the bartender John gave us a notepad to write down requests and the DJ duly obliged! We shared a Rumors Sampler and a Philly Cheese Sandwich which hit the spot. Everything was fantastic, probably should have ordered a basket of fries too, but it was great!! As we wrapped up the night, we got three 'Rumors Love Potions!' Considering it was Valentine's Night, it all made sense!! Thank you John for a great night, your DJ is fantastic!! Is he for hire?? Rumors is a great Irish family bar in Midtown with no pretentious!

Above average pub located slightly away from the craziness of Broadway etc.. Service is friendly but not fully attentive (staff seem keener chatting to each other than serving customers). Food is good.

A great bar with the friendliest service we received in NYC. There is a wide choice of beers and the Sauvignon Blanc is good. There is a happy hour 4-7pm. We didn't eat here during this trip but would do next time as the menu offers a reasonable choice.

It is a typical Pub Great place for a quick meal, a drink or a chat with beer. The service is excellent. TVs with sports and friendliness of the girls that attend.

This pub I came upon by accident walking back from Central Park to my hotel on 43rd street. I was hot and thirsty and happened to stroll past it and decided to go in, as I had not eaten and wanted something light I ordered a beer and a prawn cocktail which cost $17.00. The pub was quiet as it was around 2.30pm. Worth a visit even for a drink.

Have visited Rumours several times and always impressed. Drinks are reasonably priced, huge range of draft beer and spirits, good music & plenty of big screens to watch all the sport on! Really great atmosphere, happy staff and punters alike

I was staying at a hostel across the street when I stopped into Rumours and I enjoyed it so much I had 3 more meals there. Very good Fish and Chips and a daily special I ordered was meatloaf and it was the best I have ever eaten anywhere! The waitstaff and bartenders all provided excellent service each time I visited.

We were looking for someplace in the area to have lunch and Rumours caught our eye. High ceilings and exposed brick walls greeted us, as did comfortable bar stools and a varied menu. Guinness was quite good and our entrees of Shepherds Pie and Fish and Chips were quite good. I would say that the fries were excellent. One young lady from Ireland acted as bartender and waitress for the few tables occupied. She was efficient, but perhaps could have been just a little more friendly. Would we return? I think we will! We are very comfortable in this type of environment and atmosphere.

We stopped in after a nice walk in NY's Central Park just a few blocks away. Rumours was virtually empty for a Sunday afternoon--good for us as we were able to sit by the open window from inside. Food took a little long to get which was surprising but everyone enjoyed their meal once it arrived. The buffalo burger I ordered was cooked to perfection and I had the choice of salad or fries. Nice place!

Came here for food and the service was awful and the food was dry as a bone. My partners shepherds pie had hard vegetables that you’d struggle to bite into! Something wasn’t right with the burger as I was sick not long after. I wouldn’t bother going the guy there was rude because I didn’t leave a tip for poor service. They even tried adding a 20% tip on themselves. don’t bother!

We stopped in Rumours Pub for drinks on our final day in NYC wanting to squeeze every drop out of our fantastic stay and this place didn’t let us down. We had been for a walk around Central Park in the snow and were heading to Hell’s Kitchen for lunch and fancied some drinks and to warm up first. The staff were very friendly and happy to give samples of the ales served before I chose the bronx IPA, and were very interested in where we were from with uk accents. We didn’t eat but others arriving after us did and the food looked very good. When I return to New York I will definitely return here as it left a great impression on us all and was the perfect place to spend a couple of hours.

When we visit NY, we always like to have at least one evening in Rumours. Its an Irish bar with more than a hint of America - not least because of the vast array of sport showing on different screens around the bar. There is a good range of beer on tap as well as in bottles and prices are much more reasonable than other places in the city. We always find service to be friendly and efficient. The crowd is usually between the ages of 25-45, the music lively but not banging and it is generally a relaxed place to leave a little inebriated later on in an evening!

Stopped by for a quick drink and a snack. Just had a basket of wedge cut fries. They were quite tasty. Drinks were reasonably priced as well.

We wanted something to drink after visiting the museum. We walked past this bar and headed in and had the bar more or less to ourselves and were waited on. Their beer was good and the service excellent! For a drink/beer this place is really recommended. (We didn't taste the food)

Rumours became my favorite hangout for those times when the opera attacks. While my girlfriend is enjoying Jonas and the rest of the Met crew, I saddle up at this pub, drink Jameson and play Dropkick Murphys and British Sea Power on the jukebox. The drinks are good, as are the prices and the food. Sometimes after 9 pm they'd have a DJ, who will meet his end by my hand one day, but the rest of the time I am the one doing DJ'ing. Every now and then there is a jukebox battle, like when me and some Lady Gaga fan squared off, which makes for a lot of fun and confusion for the rest of the customers. The stuff is friendly and competent, the TVs are silent, and the lights are dim, so if you find youself in a need of a break from Rigoletto then stop by and I'll put on Finnegan's Wake on for you.

We had tried going to Burger Joint one night at 11:30 pm, but it was closing. We asked the very kind people at the front desk of Le Parker Meridien where we could go, and they told us there were 3 open places 8th and 56th. We headed that way and were thrilled to go into Rumours and be informed they were open till after 1 am. I ordered a pasta which was very well prepared, and my nephew a burger which he thoroughly enjoyed. Prices were ok, the draft beer and guiness excellent! We went back again on another late night, and got the same very good attention and food. I would definitely return here!

Arrived here after paying $18 for two Harp lagers at McGees around corner on 55th. Rumours is noisier but not so much that you can't have a conversation. Two Heineken lagers for $14, a JD and coke $9. Still expensive but we stayed as the place had a nice vibe. The only complaint was the choice of music, traditional Irish. Much nicer when Thin Lizzy and U2 were played.

Nice little bar that started us off on the night of bar hopping, nice bar staff and plenty on tap to keep us happy for a few

We liked this place a lot and returned a couple of times during our visit. We found it reasonably priced for drinks but didn’t have food. Everytime we went in there was a lady and man behind the bar. We found the lady very helpful and pleasant but found the guy rude, impatient and unhelpful, as if you were bothering him everytime he had to serve you. Would have scored it higher were it not for him.

Nothing speciell about this pub. One among many in new york. The best is that you can watch English footbal . The food was ok and the beer was cold.

We had enjoyed the food the there, the Manager was super friendly towards us and easy to chat to. We preferred his bar to any other. Amy and Pete, from Bristol.

We chose Rumours Pub for the variety of menu options. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious! The onion rings were great and the portion was large. I had a veggie wrap which did not have the usual veggies in it, there was asparagus, onions, and squash. My friend had turkey dinner and said it was great. We look forward to our next visit to NYC, with a stop to Rumours Pub.

We found this place by chance and so glad we did! Probably the best meal whilst we were in NY!!! Staff were really friendly and food was delicious and well worth the price.

Spotted this bar while out sightseeing and thought we would give it a shot for an early dinner...terrible decision!! Took us a while to get served and when we did I ordered a shrimp cocktail and my wife ordered their signature sharing platter. My shrimp cocktail came quite promptly..only problem was it came alone. When asked were my wife's food was they said it wasn't ready yet. When asked how long it would be we were told another 20 mins! Why serve mine at all!! So after eating one of the most pathetic shrimp cocktails ever..it was literally 5 shrimps on the end of a cocktail glass with a bit of lettuce in the middle..and the 'special shrimp sauce' I was looking forward to was ketchup! 15 mins after I finished my wife's came and to be fair hers was ok hence the reason I didn't give it just the 1 star but by this time we couldn't wait to leave this place. Avoid if you don't want to leave disappointed

Great Irish Bar with fab staff. The drinks and food are reasonable. Food arrived quickly, just what you need when hungry. We would def recommend and return.

Excellent bar, friendly staff, reasonable prices, really good all round bar. Staff are really friendly and they don't rip you off like other bars I've unfortunately been to whilst in NY. Highly recommend

Rumours is a good New York Irish pub. If you want solid pub fare while you catch the game with excellent service, this is the place. It's very 20 something on the weekend and some night they have a Dj- which no one seems to pay any attention to. On the other hand they continue to serve food late and is a very good value. The wait staff is fantastic!!

3 of us visited rumours bar on a Wednesday night and had a good time. The host was very friendly and helped us find a seat almost immediately. Good selection of beers from all over the place. Highly recommend coming here if your looking for a nice small bar in Midtown.

Good vibe and even better food! Not too busy and lovely staff. Enjoyed our night here. We had spaghetti with real Parmesan cheese, French onion soup was very tasty and the tasting platter was good too. We would revisit.

We visited, this pub, on a previous trip and returned this year. Impressive range of beers and the Guinness was excellent. The burgers were good but I think the fries were frozen as they were a bit greasy.

If you are in the Times Square area and are looking for a real place for non tourists drop into Rumours. Typical Irish pub with a good beer selection and decent pub food that is reasonably priced.

Went here twice during our New York stay and enjoyed both times. Friendly staff, good food, showing football (soccer ) and reasonably priced for New York. Only very slight downside they had no kids menus so we had to be full price for children's meals . That said, would definitely go back if visiting again!

Originally, we wanted to go to Uncle Vanya around the corner. However, it seems that it was closed that Saturday (or overall). Walking by this place we noticed decent food specials and decided to stop there for drinks and late night after concert food. Our server was very attentive and friendly, however, she had no clue about vintage and brand of the wine served by the establishment. I ordered a glass of merlot and it wasn't any good, so I switched to tried and true Glenfiddich. I had a NY strip with mixed vegetables and my friend had chicken wings. Both were very good and quite tasty. They were able to accommodate my dietary requirements with no problems. The price were also very decent $21+ for a steak and $9 for wings. Whisky was at a regular $12/shot. The interior is somewhat cramped and awkward unless you sit at the bar and then it's the usual. So, it's just your average hole in the wall Irish pub with bathrooms in roomy downstairs.

The food is what you would expect for pub food. Nothing great, nothing bad. The bartender is friendly and engages with patrons which I think makes the atmosphere slightly better than other places. If you’re looking for a place to grab a drink it’s not a bad spot.

The staff of the bar were comical as the night got later.... Well poured Guinness! I did not eat here, although I heard from other customers that the food was good.

Lovely little hideaway with very friendly staff. We went looking for a sports bar to watch the moto Gp. The waitress could not find it at first but she spent about 20mins googling tv stations on her own phone to find the right channel. Eventually she did so thank you to her. The platter to share was very nice plus the waitress even brought as drinks on the house. Will definitely go back there next trip

We stopped here after a trip to the Met on chilly day in March. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, music at a nice level to allow conversation, five different tv’s w/ different sports games on each (including women’s college basketball) . I highly recommend the Hot Toddy, w/ Jameson’s, sugar or honey, a slice of lemon and whole cloves. The kitchen is small, but puts out quality food. Be patient, it won’t be out in 5 minutes as they cook as ordered. We had a veggie burger- excellent w/ cheese options and extra choices of grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, mixed peppers and avocado, and a beef burger w/ grilled onions and mushrooms, equally good. Side choices are fries or salad. Sean, our server was efficient, attentive and friendly. If our home was here, we would be regulars.

We found the pub when looking for somewhere to eat, the atmosphere was great wand we were made very welcome by the staff. There is a good selection of food and good portions to. Try the Brooklyn beer it is good, to good if you get comfortable.

Just stopped to cool off with a drink and snack(Potato skins). Nothing exceptional...drinks..food..just average.

My husband and our two teenage daughters stopped for lunch. Service was great! Food was delicious! Drinks were cold! Just what we needed on a hot August afternoon! Thanks Paul, you’re awesome!

Our favourite pub in New York. Nothing pretentious, nothing fake, just good old fashioned pub fare. Fast service, good food, great beer. There are no frills, just a friendly and efficient service with a smile. Love the place.

Nice food menu and happy hour specials, Guinness is never on special though😁Close to Studio 54 if your seeing a play there. Nice Irish 🍀☘️🍻bar to local if in town.

Stopped in to this pub to relax a bit and grab a few drinks. The ambiance was nice and were it had a good crowd, it wasn't overcrowded. They had a nice selection of specials and it was a very laid back and enjoyable experience. I would definitely go back again and would like to try the menu as well.

Great slice of Irish heaven in NYC. Greeted with a smile and warm welcome. Poured a perfect Guinness. Great value in Hells Kitchen. Glad I stored and plan to return often!

We were looking for a place to eat close to our hotel on 8 Ave. When you walk in, it's very dark bar area. The waitress for very good especially due to the fact that she was the only one working on a Sunday during football season. She took our order (7 of us), never wrote anything down (which always impresses me) and got everything correct. The quality of the food was very good and the prices were very reasonable for NYC.

Had a great meal with my coworkers on a hot weekend. A/C on high, delicious food and drink. The server was very friendly and helpful

We were in New York for 5 nights, and we ate here for 3 of them. We found the Irish bars in New York to be some of the friendliest places and it was certainly true for this bar. The food was excellent and it was a friendly atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and attentive. You’re looking at around $9-$10 for a pint and $10-$15 for a burger.

Rumours bar was a great stop off on your way up or down 8th avenue. The atmosphere was great, the staff were all vey pleasant and chatty. The menu was great, we loved their platers or just the buffalo wings and the Guiness was delicious. Would recommend this bar, great prices

You want to eat good food at a very low cost in Midtown:Try this place. Service is quick and servers are courteous.

It was cold out and we ducked in here to have a drink. It is a very cozy place that warmed us up immediately. You can feel free to stop for a drink and not feel it is necessary to order food. Servers were very prompt and friendly.

Great relaxing pub to enjoy a quick bite to eat. Great atmosphere with friendly staff and great food and drink

Popped in at lunch time and had their tuna wrap with chips lunchtime special washed down with a coke. The portion size was about right, not to large for lunchtime, the wrap was nicely made and tasted fresh. The service was prompt enough once the server noticed us. Pricing reasonable for the area that it was in, we would go back.

Stopped in for a pre-theater drink. The place is small but cozy. Bartender was friendly and everyone was nice. The drinks were reasonably priced and well-made. A very comfortable atmosphere. There are TVs above the bar and I believe they were setting up for a Football Happy hour when we left. I would go again if it's near the theater I'm attending.

About 15 mins walk from the Natural History Museum, this lovely little bar is on 8th avenue as you head back downtown towards Times Square. Its a little dark inside but staff are friendly and the food appetizing and reasonable value.

Great pub, friendly and welcoming staff, not too loud atmosphere. Great pint of Stella. Amazing nachos, although took a while to be served.

Authentic Irish pub that any New Yorker is welcome. You get a seat at bar service is great and you get a drink in a clean glass filled to the top. They don't skimp by stuffing it with ice.

I ended up using this pub as my local whilst on holiday in New York. Whilst it might not stand out from other Irish pubs in the city looks wise I can confirm that it has a very unique vibe. The staff were great and made me feel at home everytime I visted plus the rumours burger is out of this world. A good selection of beers and spirits. Plus it's in a handy location.

One of my favourite haunts in NYC. Comfortable, great choice of beer and the bar staff are superb. My wife and I popped in here most days and found our favourite seat by the window and sat watching the street life on 8th Avenue with a great pint of Sam Adams.

We were in NYC for the holidays and was staying in an AIRBnB apartment over on West 56th. New Years Day we had a a bowl game we wanted to see and while watching it in the apartment, the reception started acting up which we learned was as a result of poor wifi. this was right in the middle of the game. We started looking in the neighborhood for a bar to watch the game in and Rumours was the first place that said they would put it on one of their TVs. The bartender, Damian was very friendly and helped make sure we were able to finish the game. We did not eat but had a few beers and was happy with that and while the food looked nice, we had to leave and didn't have the chance to check out their food. Would highly recommend.

I have returned to this Irish Pub several times in my travels to NYC. I love the Irish staff, from the bartender to the wait staff. They are always so welcoming and love to chat about all things! The food is very well priced, but beyond that it is very good! Same with the spirits, good prices and a knowledgeable bartender makes for an enjoyable visit. Just returned from a trip and enjoyed watching the Champions League final with a full house of soccer fans! great fun!

I went to Rumours 3 or 4 times during my stay in NYC and found it as comfortable as my local bar. The bar staff were attentive and chatted to me (i travelled on my own) each time i was in, the food was great and they showed all the sport. First class.

Drinks were good and well priced and we ate the rumours sampler platter and rumours fries which were both tasty. Service wasn't great it was like they forgot about the tables as were too busy eating behind the bar! Nice atmosphere though!

It was snowing in NYC and I had walked a while and wanted to get out of the snow and grab lunch before a matinee. So I ducked into Roumours and found myself sandwiched in-between locals on lunch that were treated by the bartender as they came in by name. The food was fabulous, the bartender was super nice and I was blown away by how friendly everyone was. And on top of that the prices were not bad.

Plenty of good food and a large selection of draft beers. I would recommend Rumours for food and beers and watching sport on the big screens. It is however quite noisy, so difficult to chat with friends.

We went for drinks and hung out one evening the week before Christmas. The drinks were reasonably priced. The bartender checked on us frequently. We had already had dinner, but the food looked and smelled great. We would go back for dinner and drinks in the future.

Good spot for a burger and a drink. The service was friendly. The burger and fries were great. They pour a great Guinness!!!

My wife and I had just lined up for an hour or so to get tickets for a show so we were pretty hungry by the time we found this classic pub. Our server had a charming Irish brogue, which added an air of authenticity to the pub. We chose two of the sandwiches and then shared them. Both were delicious, and the accompanying fries were excellent, thick, crisp wedges rather than the string fries you so often get as a side. A pint of beer finished off this good hearty lunch. Prices are pretty good for NY.

We just happened to walk in the pub after a very long 8 mile walk around NYC as the pub was typical pub dark with a lot of wood tables and benches. The drinks were reasonably priced and service good. The menu was typical pub food. We ordered cheese sticks and they were fine. So if you are close and need a place to stop in for a few, this might be your place.

Small and cozy bar with a mostly friendly crew. Prices are reasonable. They serve a really strong and potent Long Island iced tea.

We stumbled upon Rumours for lunch and are glad we did. The prices were very reasonable and the food was great! Burgers, salads, fish and chips were all enjoyable. This was a nice spot just a few blocks away from some of the over-priced bars and restaurants.

Stopped for early pub grub, early 530 on lovely spring evening. Ordered burgers, not too long of a wait for food. The food was average in taste. Pleasant staff. Not sure I would go back though

Good food, in an amazing location with delicious music. Not cheap but this is a good pub. Fish and chip

Looking for a place to hang out, eat some appetizers and try good drafts. Rumours has it all. Ample bar selections and setting.

Great place nice food staff & ice cold beer all @ good prices if your lucky enough you might catch Wee Belfast Fra doing an Irish dance around 10pm most nights

Visited for lunch on Friday, whilst on arrival the bar was empty the barman was welcoming, conversational when needed but equally happy to leave us to talk. As the number of customers grew he remained attentive and was always on hand when the drinks needed refreshing - had we not had somewhere to go we could have spent the whole afternoon there. The food was excellent, delivered quickly and good value. Would highly recommend a visit

My review is based on the bar tenders. Really nice attentive and pour a decent drink, not this penny pinching measuring you get around town. If you want to catch a sporting even there are tv's and the top shelf to the well are stocked handsomely.

My friends and I were in town for Thankgiving. We received a really warm welcome from Carrie, our bartender and had such good fun with her. The cocktails were awesome and v reasonable. We hope to visit Ireland one day and receive the same welcome. We had appetizers and they are well recommended. The decor is lovely and the bar is v clean. This is a must go to if you are in Midtown

Looking for a quick bite before a play, we came across Rumours Pub. Fun art work, friendly staff, great bar, yummy food!! I only wish we had more time to spend here. It's great....go and enjoy!!

We had lunch here while staying in the city earlier this week. Food was excellent and worth the monies. Waitress we had was very nice and made sure everything as the way we wanted it. She even went the extra mile for my wife that day. What more can you ask for?

Went here with some friends to grab som drinks. The service was slow and when I got the wrong beer, it was replaced by the same wrong beer. They were going to correct it, but after 15 minutes we gave up. On the bill they tried to charge us for the wrong beer and have to have them take it off.

This was a proper old style New york pub, with memorabilia behind the bar, sport on the tv, great friendly service, and a really nice pint, just what was need.

Came across by accident...: good vibe and friendly service. Good for a couple of pints of Guinness! Feels proper Irish!

This pretty standard Irish pub just down 8th avenue from Central Park offers a dark, noisy lively ambiance with several large screen TVs showing sport. There is a good selection of beers, including a number to the British taste and an extensive menu of the usual US fast foods plus some extras such as Shepherd’s Pie and Irish Stew. Generally the food was decent, of the standard you would expect, the accompaniments were standard and average, one night the chips were poor, overcooked and flabby, on another they were much better, large and crisp. The service was prompt and friendly. You have to sit on very high stools to eat, which many may find uncomfortable, some impossible, and the noise level was so high it made conversation difficult. I think it is aimed at the younger customer. Overall all it suited us as a relaxed, reasonably priced place to eat in the evening, informal, lively, unsophisticated.

Rumours Pub is located on 8th Avenue. Nice friendly place with a good ambiance. The food was typical pub fare and was good. Recommended.

We decided to stop here after a long morning sightseeing and after an initially good start, when the food came it was a massive disappointment. My partner had a philly cheese steak sandwich which was dry as a bone with congealed cheese. The fries were over cooked and dripping in grease. There was no children’s menu so we chose the chicken fingers and a side of chips - again below average, dry, plain and very expensive. The steak salad was average at best. We did get the cost of one drink refunded but sadly we won’t be coming back or recommending!!

We tried a few Irish bars in New York, but thos was our favourite. Loved the food and the maintenance attraction was the lovely friendly bar tender called Jenny. Shesfe us feel so welcome and was very chatty. Would highly recommend this bar to anyone

A group of 6 of us went out for after dinner drinks - the windows were open and the warm night air felt good after a long winter. The beer selection is good and the prices reasonable - a mixed group of people comfortable in whatever you a wearing. (We had suits on and fit in those with jeans !

Great little pub, good food and hospitality. Its table service which is great when your feet are tired !

We stumbled across this bar on our walk back to midtown from Central Park West. In need of refreshments the beer, wine and service were excellent. So much so we decided to have a late lunch which did not disappoint. Amazing homemade burgers. Friendly atmosphere with plenty of locals, a perfect little find that i would definitely recommend and return to.

Was staying around the corner from this local pub. I welcomed the chance to decompress over a drink or some food after a long day of going hither, tither, and yon. Great cider, good pub food, and just a nice quiet space (at least when I was there!)

Rumours Pub is on 8th Avenue. It’s a popular place and appropriately darkish inside. Good atmosphere and nice decor. Worth a visit.

My husband and I are very glad we chose Rumours for a n early dinner/drinks after walking from seeing an early movie on a very cold and slushy afternoon. We were quickly seated and served very quickly by a very friendly server! We quickly warmed up and really enjoyed our meal! Our daughter lives in the area and enjoys visiting Rumours with her co workers quite frequently. Highly recommend!

We stopped in here to take a breather from the heat. It is just like you see on TV. It is full of people but it is so noisy. There is a lady shouting at the top of her voice and it is not pretty. The range of beers is good and the wine is nice and comes as a generous serve.

With so many great choices nearby for decent pub food I'd probably skip this place next time. Three of us ordered sandwiches and they were ok, one ordered the shepherd's pie which he said was pretty average, and another got hot wings which were not impressive. Service was a bit slow and the waitresses weren't very friendly. Atmosphere and decor was ok.
Loud
Mediocre food, football based clientele so do no expect to hear commentary on National Championship Baseball games on a Sunday. Surround sound was deafening.
