Nozawa Trust Me. Trust Them.

By Jackson Utah |

Definitely get the Nozawa Trust Me omakase. Trust them. It’s excellent every single time. This place is awesome. The midtown location is surprisingly less crowded than some of the other ones and a little bit less brightly lit which makes for a cozy and intimate vibe.

Perfect Date Night

By Audry K |

My husband and I ate at Sugarfish for a dinner date before going out for drinks and it was delicious. I’d been before, but it was his first visit. We did one of the Trust Me orders to share and it was all amazing. The timing was great between dishes and we ordered two extra pieces of sushi after, so the main meal was pretty filling. This sushi experience is wonderful and great for a date or even just a quick lunch. We put our name on the list at 7pm and only waited 20 minutes (went to grab a drink before and they texted when we should head back to the restaurant). Love Sugarfish!

Superb Sushi

One of the best sushi experiences of our lives. Beautiful food. Easy menu. Incredible wait staff. Would go here every day I could if I worked nearby. Bravo, Sugarfish!

🍣 great

Amazing seafood a stone's throw from central park. I tried the larger tasting menu and it was a beautiful experience, light years away from the Sushi we are used to in Italy. Mouth-watering! Too bad that for my appetite the quantities were not abundant, but nothing critical: you eat enough and above all very well. Price in my opinion very interesting for NYC averages

Unorganized with excuse after excuse - Nobody taking responsibility for their actions

By Phil S |

We were told 45 min wait which turned out to be 1:15 min ( Two many people staff coming out and offering us different things very confusing) once we were in made mistakes with our orders constantly and then double charged us for the meal on the credit card!! 🤣🤣 It also took 15 minutes to pay and leave - Not a good experience at all to be honest and we spent over $400

Best sushi in Town!

By TheTrencherman04 |

They don't accept reservations but during the week it's easy to find a place, a little less so on weekends where the wait can reach more than 2 hours. Simple, compact menu, the different culinary experiences that the kitchen offers are much appreciated. Real traditional Japanese cuisine, fresh, odorless fish, rice cooked correctly, friendly staff and classic fish-bar atmosphere. Amazing value for money for being in NY. Super recommended!

So delicious!!!

My daughter had told me that on my next visit to NY you MUST go to Sugarfish! We went and it certainly lived up to the hype. Simplicity is the name of the game here. No fancy rolls just ultra fresh simple hand rolls and nigiri. You do not even need anything on them. The fish melts in your mouth especially the Toro. The Japanese Yellowtail was also amazing. The sushi comes out when they have made it so you eat one at a time. The rice is warm and a beautiful contrast with the cold fish and crispy seaweed. A delight for the senses. A must visit when in NY.

Tasty and Fresh

After seeing a Broadway play yesterday, I walked up to 56th street and had an early dinner at SUGARFISH. I ordered the Trust Me Light assortment for $32 and found the food to be very fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and I will definitely be back. No tipping establishment.

Omakase with Good Quality Fish

By Alexia Yun |

I went to Sugarfish (Midtown West) for lunch on a Wednesday, and I was seated at the bar table within 15 minutes of walking in. I ordered the Nozawa Trust Me Omakase Set, which included 2 appetizers, 10 pieces of nigiri, and 2 handrolls. My favorite dish is the Tuna sashimi. A generous amount of thinly sliced tuna sashimi is coated in ponzu sauce and topped with chives. The ponzu sauce pairs nicely with the tuna and increases the depth of flavor. Overall, the fish is fresh, and the sushi rice is cooked to perfection. However, the fish and sushi rice could have been better seasoned with more flavors. The rice could have been better packed, so pieces of rice do not fall off the nigiri. My total came out to ~51, and hospitality is included in the menu price.

Excellent Fresh Sushi

Had the Nozawa Trust Me option. Excellent combination of freshly made sushi for a set price. Blue crsb roll was the highlight for me...but should be eaten right away. Highly recommend one of the set price options. Well executed, tasty and fresh.

The surprising part of dining at this excellent sushi restaurant is that the tip is included, which made the bill was surprisingly modest for the quality of the meal. They don't take reservations, so we were there when they opened for lunch and were seated immediately.

Mouth-watering sushi and amazing service

By Adrienne C |

My Saturday lunch at Sugarfish truly blew my mind. We lucked out in that we were the last to be seated before a long waitlist started forming, and our server E was so kind to let us know that we would not be rushed throughout the meal and that it was for us to enjoy. This is quite rare in nyc where I often feel like I’m being pushed out once the hour / hour and a half mark is hit, even at upscale restaurants. We did the Trust Me tasting menu and it was divine. Love that we got to try sashimi, nigiri and hand rolls. Every piece of fish is was very high quality and flavorful. My favorites were the sesame salmon and fatty toro. We split a small bottle of house sake which was the perfect pairing. Not only was the food incredible, but it also had great value. I was honestly expecting the bill to be much higher and was pleasantly surprised. Sugarfish has it all – classy and intimate ambience, first-rate food, and wonderful staff. Truly an unforgettable meal!

Sushi melts in your mouth!

I love Sugarfish in LA, so I had to try it in NYC. Same great quality and attention to detail. Love the service (tip) is included in the price of the meals.

Fresh sushi

The sushi itself was great. I like that it’s a no tipping restaurant and they pay their people fairly/it’s all included in the price. I did the Trust Me selection ($43) and it was enjoyable. I got a spot at the bar. It was 9 pm on a Monday and I got lucky because there was no wait. This place does not take reservations and folks often appear to be packed in waiting and/or spilling onto the street. There’s a lot of great sushi in the city, so in that respect, I don’t see the point of standing around. I’d return again if there wasn’t a wait.
