Ordered a number 2 classic and a number 6 corn beef. Waited for about 15 to 20 minutes for my takeout order. We have to wait on the outside because the place is pretty small. Only counter seats are available. The sandwiches are thick sliced and delicious. Each sandwich is between $15-$18 and comes with a whole delicious pickle. With taxes and tips, it’s about $22 pp. After my visit, I saw the reviews of meatball soup and sweats. Will come again for those dishes for sure

New York S&P is a culinary gem, surpassing the ordinary with its exceptional food, unique charm, and substantial character. From the moment you step in, the delightful aromas guide you to a table, creating a cozy and authentically New York inviting atmosphere. It has quickly become my go-to must-visit spot in the area. The food is outstanding and was no surprise if you saw the line out the door. There is a little door about the restaurant which I believe housed the magical fairies that help make the food unbelievable. Deffintalt is worth the stop

I love old diners and sandwich shops, so I loved this. Coffee and a breakfast sandwich at the counter for $18 (New York Prices). Good service. It's old school and met expectations. I would go back.

Classic old-school diner, decades of tradition uninterrupted by progress, friendly staff and all the usual breakfast options. The eggs + lox were perfectly soft scrambled, and the pancakes were amazing! Apparently the ingredients include four different types of flour - well worth making a detour to try.

I went here for brunch when I got into the city. The place was packed but I was able to get a seat at the counter. Those employees are busting their butts in there. It is non-stop. Best omelet ever.

We really enjoyed our classic counter lunches - a corned beef, a pastrami, and a Ruben sandwiches. The team that resurrected this restaurant has done a great job of resurrecting a classic diner - read about it as you wait for a place to eat. I especially enjoyed my pastrami which had good flavor, texture, and a little smokiness to it. The sandwiches are not those monster sized ones you’ll see at some places, but are reasonable enough. Next time, I’ll try a soup and a tuna paddy melt. BTW, the entire crew were very friendly and polite and the sound track was a great mix from the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Classic sandwich counter. Excellent selection and great service. Orders were made fresh and tasted fantastic. Perfect NYC lunchtime stop.

Visiting from Texas, we had seen S&P on a video we watched. We were in the area and stopped in before the lunch rush. I am so glad we went! It is tiny with counter seating at the front and some tables in the back. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich which was delicious! Hubby got the pastrami on rye with their version of fries. Although my chicken salad was wonderful, I wish I had gotten the pastrami sandwich! The meat was so tender and tasty! The staff was friendly and very efficient. I recommend going at "off peak" times, if you want to eat in the restaurant. We were seated right away and thought the prices were reasonable.

Authentic dinner that we had seen on Instagram and that was worth it! Purely American breakfast with an 80s ambiance. It's worth it if you're around!

I read about it on Eater...we got several dishes including the Jersey sandwich, matzo ball soup, grilled cheese and tuna cranberry sandwich Overall its okay and would not run back
Does not get much better than this
The Jersey Joe is up there with the best sandwiches I have ever had… great price considering the competition … and it goes down great with a reasonably priced beer…oh… the whole staff are friendly
