Tasty but disappointing

By Theoks |

Our family loves Sarabeth’s preserves so when we were visiting NYC last week we decided to have dinner at the CentralPark location. My husband ordered the scallops on the dinner menu The 3 scallops were well prepared but there weren’t any vegetables etc with the dinner. There was no bread provided before dinner. My gumbo was prepared as a thin soup but was tasty. Overall a small portion of food for the price charged.

Wouldn’t bother with this one

By Galizzie |

The food was fine, but unremarkable, and the service was not great. A water glass on the table when we sat down had food crusted on it. When we gently pointed this out they quickly switched it out, but put it back on the shelf for re-use. The server was really pushing the add-ons for our meal, but then didn’t bring them until reminded, and after the meal was cold. This was repeated with the table next to us with different items, but same failure to execute. Coffee cups are small, and getting a refill proved challenging. We sat for over 20 minutes trying to get our bill. Ambience is ok, and the location is great. We are frequently in NYC, but in a city with so many fantastic restaurants, we are unlikely to go back to this one.

I won't be back.

A very average menu with few options for dinner. I honestly didn't like it. Service, on the other hand, is very good!

Not worth it....

By Rick |

Muffins were stale, service was slightly below average and omelet was not good at all. It was the farmers omelet and the ham and onions were minimal, and the potatoes were very tiny and undercooked. We have had much better $8.99 breakfasts and these entrees were all minimum of $25 and not good. So, overpriced food and service. oh, not too mention we had to hand over the coffee's we walked in with so we could over pay for their coffee which was worse that what we happened to have with us.

Disappointed!!

By Ellebee09 |

$70 later for a less than mediocre breakfast and we were so incredibly disappointed at not only the waste of money, but also a waste of a breakfast opportunity during our limited time here in NY! $24 for 2 eggs and 2 slices of toast! Offensive to be honest. Mediocre coffee too. Honestly, you get a better value breakfast at McDonald’s, even our Pick a Bagel breakfast the day before at $20 for two epic bagels was a damned sight better. I think the location (on a rather posh street with posh hotels) is what makes people flock here. From a pair of foodies - you can get a breakfast head and shoulders above this places for a quarter of the price! If your priority is to dine somewhere quite posh in quite an affluent area then this is for you but if you want cracking food for a good price then avoid at all costs - because it will cost you.

Sarabeths very disappointing

By JG |

Tables too close together. Water served warm, no ice provided. Food ok. Champagne by the glass advertised on their menu but told it was not available. Overall very disappointed and unlikely to revisit.

If you like Eggs Benedict, look elsewhere

By DavidORear |

For $27, one might expect "Classic Eggs Benedict" to be a proper rendition of my favorite breakfast, but not here. The dish should comprise two poached eggs on top of two slices of Canadian bacon, on top of two halves of an English muffin, and topped with Hollandaise sauce. One does not expect tasteless corn bread lumps.

Avocado toast and mimosas, yes please

By Ellen H |

This place was amazing. Super busy but got a table right away. I had the avocado toast which came with a delicious salad. My son in law had the spinach and goat cheese omelette and my daughter had the Caesar salad. Everyone loved their food and the mimosas.

For a good breakfast

By Chiara C |

Conveniently booked a table from their official website. Very nice place, tables a little too close together and therefore a little noisy. Ordered the classic pancakes, very good and soft! The French toasts I saw passing by were also inviting. A little too expensive.

Wonderful breakfast venue

By Rochelle F |

This is a lovely venue to have a breakfast. The food options are plentiful and delicious. The service was very attentive. They did not rush us - we were very leisurely as had not seen each other in other a year. I have eaten at other locations too, just not this one which also lived up to my expectations.

Sara-Meh review. Terrible!

By Janet K |

We dined at the Central Park South location. Resos were made. 25 minute wait. We were shoved in a corner spot our candle was not lit and our server appeared to dislike his job. He actually just threw the dessert menus on our table with no convo The food was awful. My scallop entree was cold salty and still tasted partially frozen. A few raisins and slivers of pear accompanied my dish. My daughter ordered the crab-cake sandwich. It tasted old and her fries were stale and cold. I won’t remark on our guests dinner but they did not finish their entrees. Never would we recommend this restaurant. Don’t waste your time. New York is full of much better dining.

Bland Thanksgiving Turkey dinner; no taste. Stick to breakfast items and deserts.

By semsemsemsem |

We went to Sarabeth for a Thanksgiving dinner. The pumpkin soup and crab cakes were nice. But the Turkey dinner was first served cold. So we asked that it be heated. It was bland with no taste. The turkey was dry and the stuffing, even the cranberry sauce had hardly any taste. Even the mashed potatoes were bland. The desert; a cranberry apple cake was nice. The coffee was bad. A big disappointment. I think one needs to stick to breakfast items and desserts here. Food is bad. Will certainly not return for a meal.

Optimal

By Monia M |

Excellent pancakes. Super abundant breakfast ($30) with an American. Unlimited water. Excellent service. Highly recommended

Before central park

By NDM |

Excellent choice for family breakfast, we waited for 40 min, the pancakes of ricotta and lemon and Benedictine yblos with salmon is of note. Nice peach jam.

Decent Breakfast

By skychaserCalgary |

We came for breakfast one day just to have a change from the breakfast served at our hotel. Service was pleasant and the usual breakfasts (eggs benny and eggs and bacon) were just fine. A bit pricey but NYC is pricier than most.

Great breakfast great service

By Nick_the_Hat |

We were staying at the Park Lane Hotel next door and found the food poor. One morning we went to Sarabeth’s next door for breakfast - what a difference! This restaurant on Central Park South is providing excellent polite attentive service, great ambience and totally delicious food. The breakfast was simply spectacular - huge helpings and big taste! Delicious coffee too - Highly recommend the quiche pie for breakfast whilst our seventeen year old found the sweet breakfast with its eggy bread made from fluffy brioche was divine. Thank you Sarabeth’s for such a lovely start to our day. By the way, the gentlemanly waiters, so attentive professional crisp and courteous. Great atmosphere - felt like the best of Paris!

A New York classic but needs improvements

By Michael Deirdre |

I had never visited this establishment before and booked well in advance. Luckily I insisted on a good table and moved our guests from the crowded back to the front room. The restaurant was extremely busy yet service was very good and food was excellent. I need to make a major point to the owners. Obviously you are making money hand over fist due to the popularity - isn't it time you renovated your toilets? They were pretty disgusting. The restaurant itself does need renovation ; the back rooms are far too crowded and the feeling is pandemonium with the amount of people at the tables. Carpet was quite stained. All in all in spite of the immense popularity I may not return here again due to the choices in NY - time the owners renovated

Appalling behaviour

By kathryn |

Terrible service. Got made to feel very unwelcome for just wanting to stop for a coffee, so felt obliged to order some breakfast. And even then the staff were talking about us, and not very discretely either. Appalled at the way we were treated and wouldn’t recommend to anyone else

Breakfast on Billionaires Row

By Stefano R |

Located in Central Park South, among the ultra-luxury condominiums of Billionaires Row, it embodies a certain Manhattan spirit very well. Excellent breakfast, amazing pancakes, atmosphere seen a thousand times in films set in Manhattan. Courteous and quick service. Expensive, but there should be no reason to be surprised.

Delicious!

By Heather D |

Superb experience! Although my son and l arrived on a busy Saturday morning without a reservation, the wait time was only 25 minutes. The restaurant space is beautiful decorated with a quintessential Upper East side NYC vibe. The service and the food were outstanding! The Popovers were simply scrumptious! This is definitely going to be a NYC staple for us.

"Certainly NOT what I expected!"

By Sarah N |

I booked this restaurant as a birthday treat for breakfast for my family and I after having read the reviews on here. Avoid the place at all costs, the staff are extremely rude, especially the management, there was no recognition/and or welcome for my birthday and we were seated in the worst place possible. We felt so rushed, as there would be a waiter constantly coming to take our plates/glasses. My only positive comment would go to Abdul, our Asian waiter from Bangladesh, who went above and beyond his call of duty to make my visit special. This is the first time I've ever posted a negative response on this platform, I have even written to the manager Joe, and have yet to receive feedback! I came with very high hopes, but left very very bitterly disappointed!, the staff are in desperate need of customer service training, the food was bland, the service was very poor, all in all, it ruined my birthday!

True New York experience

By Pietro S |

Sarabeth is the place par excellence where you can eat in perfect New York style. You know those dinners at restaurants in New York like you see in the movies? Here, this is Sarabeth. Highly recommended Peter of Rome

Good Spot Yet Overall Average

By Ahmad A |

My wife and I had a late breakfast there on our way to Central Park. I ordered the Sarabeth's Signature Sirloin Burger and my wife ordered Spinach & Goat Cheese Omellete. The restaurant was very packed, which is expected for a good spot in Manhattan. Tables are very close to each other. The server asked us for drinks and offered either still or sparkling water. We ordered still. To our surprise, he brought a large bottle, which I did not question until I saw that other tables had tap water and not bottled! I guess the server saw the "tourists" in us! I did not like this. My burger was cooked to my order but was not what I thought it was since it was advertised as the "Signature." I was expecting something more memorable. My wife's omelette was not the greatest! It was a bit tasteless. On the hygienic side, we sat next to the window in the back of the restaurant. Lots of ants were roaming around. But, and there is always a but, I may visit again for the convenience of the place but will certainly order a safe order, such as fruits. On the price side, it may NOT be your choice if you are on a budget! The breakfast was expensive.

Breakfast in central park

By cipitata |

Very quick to assign tables even without having booked a large menu for all tastes. Too bad the eggs benedict weren't exceptional both for the bread that was too thick and for the sauce. Excellent location opposite central park

Paying for the name and location?

By Selina U |

I enjoyed the food, but I don’t understand all the hype around this restaurant! Upon arrival, We had to squeeze and weave our way through the crowd at the front door. It was exhausting. The front and backend bartenders both had zero personality. Our waitress was friendly but struggling to keep up with all of her tables. I enjoyed the tomato soup and grilled cheese; however it was just average.

Not a bad experience

By Let's make Astoria's restaurants better! |

Not bad. I came here yesterday to get a quick mid-day breakfast in the form of a farmer's omelet, which was delicious. I think the service is a little slow around mid-day, but given the CPS location, the overall dining experience was very good... a once-in-a-while experience in a posh area of town.

A great breakfast - will certainly fill you up

By Bradley G |

A very good breakfast with excellent portion sizes. The pancakes were delightful and the savoury food very nice too. Good choice of drinks. Only downside was that it was a little expensive, although not surprising for the location. Definitely worth a visit - make sure you go there hungry. You won’t be afterwards!!!

Food is great

By Gail Goldman |

Love this restaurant during the warm weather since we can dine outside, watch the passerbys and chat without noise level issues. It is also a real NYC experience since it is across the street from Central Park so we love the ambiance. Couple this with their great dishes from the hamburgers to the Caesars salad and you can have a very satisfying experience. Do not miss the tomato soup. I would go there just for that and I don't even like tomato soup! Wish they would get a Riesling or sweeter white wine on the list. The service this time was not as good and it is probably due to the pandemic. Got the feeling that they made the bartender into a waiter and he took his resentment out on us since he had an attitude. Since this is not usually the case with Sarabeth service, I will give them a pass. Other issue is that the prices are high and this is not a fancy restaurant. Still good for an occasional splurge.

My all time favorite breakfast spot in New York by far.

By Juan Carlos Fernández Alemán @GoJuanca |

This spectacular restaurant has the best experience for breakfast with family, clients, friends and with the best location on central park.

Best breakfast in town

By Bocadu |

Third time at Sarabeth's. Extraordinary breakfast, even better than I remember Avocado toasts, omelets and other pancakes are to fall The Four flavor smoothie is not to be missed Hate to go back

Delicious disappointed

By Genevieve C |

It was delicious and an amazing experience but I was a bit surprised that we weren’t able to order any other stuff on the breakfast menu besides French toast so that was a bit sad I was expecting some breakfast but it was still delicious thanks a lot from my family

Good brunch but pricey

By Danii T |

We visited here for brunch and we cannot complain about the food or the service!! Our server was so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is huge but still manages to create a little buzz around the place! We ordered a scrambled egg dish, poached eggs and a side of French toast. The portions were pretty big so the French toast might have been a step too far. However everything tasted delicious and the coffee was pretty good too! It was a fairly expensive brunch and more than we would normally spend but worth it as a treat once in a while!

Eggs Benedict

By Daniel_O872 |

It is a place famous for its eggs Benedict and it lives up to that fame. We booked in advance and when we arrived it was pouring, and yet it was full. It seems like a somewhat massive place, with many tourists (like us). We ordered the eggs benedict with salmon and the pankakes. All very rich. They are not cheap at all, but it is understandable due to their location and fame.

Great for our first night

By Womble422 |

We arrived after a long flight. Chose this place as it was next to our hotel. We had 2 beers one lobster roll and one steak and chips. We had tap water as a bottle was €10 Without a tip it was just under €100 They were great waiting staff and the food was excellent. I forgot chips are crisps and fries are chips so ended up with some nice home made crisps. I would recommend as you have a great green view of the park.

American breakfast

By KappaBet |

We went to this place for breakfast and really liked it. Quality food and very friendly staff. They weren't very happy that we split the plate of pancakes but they didn't make it weigh too much.

Great Breakfast

By Becca P |

We had reservations for breakfast and we were seated right away. Our party of four all loved our meals and we received great service.

Post-Marathon Brunch, Crowded but Worth It

By sean r |

Seven of us came in still celebrating one of our crew finishing the NYC Marathon. Sarabeth’s was packed, don’t even think about showing up without a reservation. Service was excellent despite the crowd. Lemon ricotta pancakes were the best I’ve ever had, period. Smoked salmon eggs benedict was solid. Great spot for a group if you’ve got patience and a plan.

Very Disappointed

By hobyd1 |

I so wanted to love this place. Family vacation. High reviews on Chat. It was terrible. We waited an hour for food and could not catch our train. Very disappointed.

Lousy attitude of the waiters

By Lamashmsa G |

The number of dishes is great, the food is very good, but the service is lousy and of poor quality. The waiters with very bad faces, do not pick up the dishes and if you deliver them they put worse faces..... forgot a coffee to order again had to do it at 4 pax.... disappointing.

Brunch by Central Park!

By jholtpepsi |

Excellent brunch venue! Great location by Central Park. We ordered Eggs Benedict and French Toast. Both were excellent as was the coffee. Chicken sausage was great. Nice place and excellent service. A little pricey but what isn’t in the Big Apple.

EXPENSIVE ENOUGH BUT WORTH IT

By MICHELA D |

ALL EXQUISITE. Very, very expensive, but you have to try their fantastic pancakes I love 😍😍 Very nice place, super nice staff thank you

Great Time

By ACKramer |

Really great in all regards- we sat at the bar, which I've never done. But overall, it's hard to beat the overall atmosphere and food. Great time and nice food.

Elegant pancakes

By Enne |

Near Central Park, we tried - with a reservation required - this elegant and cozy place and we tasted some great pancakes. Recommended.

Best Brunch Central Park South

By Billie2013 |

Hands down, the best brunch spot alongside Central Park -- the pancakes were so light and fluffy - and best cappuccino too. Highly recommend, if you can get in

Bad experience

By Michelle A |

Not recommended. Poor food and poor care. They had us imprisoned without being able to leave the place. They didn't serve us the whole time we were there, we were urgent to leave.

Birthday breakfast in style

By BronteBucket |

Booked for my birthday breakfast at the start of a big day of sightseeing and enjoyed a table with white table cloths in the main dining room at the back of the restaurant. Staff were very attentive and the menu offered classic breakfast options such as pancakes and avo on toast. Topped off with a Bloody Mary, it was a great start to the day!

Nice place but $26 for pancakes???!!!

By John I |

Good atmosphere and decent food but prices are completely whacked!!! $26 for pancakes!!! $14 for a smoothie???!!! If you have a family think long and hard before going here as it may be this or a year of college.

A gem in the city!

By looproad |

This restaurant is very busy, but well worth it. If you’re in the city and they say it’s an hour wait, take the reservation, because you won’t regret it! I found the staff to be very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere itself was very quaint. The seating itself was very cramped, which made things uncomfortable at times. Hearing people’s personal conversations (that you don’t know) can make meals awkward, especially when your elbows are almost touching. It was a very, very cramped seating arrangement!! The food was very good, however a little on the pricey side. I get it- you’re in the city, across from Central Park, and they need to make their money off the tourists. We paid $77 for avacado toast and French toast. City/tourist prices, but very good nonetheless. I’d recommend this place again

Great Breakfast in Manhattan

By John R |

Last week two colleagues and I ate at Sarabeths. We had a reservation which is smart because it was crowded. I had fantastic avocado toast and was a lot of food. Prepared on terrific bread. We also had their special turnovers which were airy and delicious. Service was pretty good was the staff could be very aloof. This will be a regular breakfast place for me when in the city.

The best pancakes in New York!

By Danny |

The pancakes are soft and light, absolutely not stubby. A delight to savor! The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, creating a perfect atmosphere. An experience that is really worth it!

Very good meal option in NY.

By William F |

Very good experience. Excellent service. Honest meal. View to Central Park. We stayed on the sidewalk watching the movement of the city. Pleasant moments. I suggest booking for breakfast.

One and Done - Not Worth the Hype

By Stashmom |

Our family of four went for breakfast. My 11 yo ordered pancakes which he said were amazing (I sure hope so for the price) but they barely came with any fruit. Other than pancakes there really wasn’t much for kids. The avocado toast was delicious, but not worth the price. Service wasn’t great as we kept having different staff at our table. Unfortunately this was a one and done NYC experience.

Not the same.

By Travel with Kels |

Sarabeth's is a staple to NYC. I used to come here all the time and so on my most recent trip to NYC I thought I'd make a return stop. First, it was restaurant week so I figured I would not be able to make a reservation. I was able to and that should have been the first sign that things weren't the same. The restaurant was pretty vacant. I knew then that something was a bit different. The food was decent. Not outstanding like I remember. The server was nice enough, but disappeared on us a few times. There weren't many other people dining so I'm not really sure why he was sort of hard to find. I'm pretty go with the flow, but everything was pretty subpar and underwhelming. I was bummed.

Family Breakfast

By Ural Ü |

We went this place as a family and enjoyed the food. It is interesting that they are suggesting extra tip even after 20%. Overall really classy place for breakfast. I really recommend this place.

Overpriced and rushed

By BostonGirl2014 |

Sarabeth's has lost it's luster. Our service, while polite, was rushed with a constant "upsell". I ordered an omelette, there was no gluten free bread so I asked for a side of bacon. 5 strips of bacon came in at a whopping $14! The omelette was $24 before this addition. I filled out a customer survey which I received the next day and got a prompt response that it would be looked into so I held off on this review but since then there has been radio silence. Will not be back, too many other brunch options in the city.

Tourist Scam

By FelipeFranca |

Expensive place, slow service, bad food. Made to attract tourists, just. The menu informs that it is served “fresh orange juice” and what they actually serve are these industrialized juices. But it costs 11 bucks a glass of juice. Run from this place

Breakfast at Sarabeths

By Anita P |

We visited Sarabeths for breakfast. Food was delicious, offering a good variety of items on the menu. Staff were on the whole friendly and courteous. A great NY experience. It was slightly pricey, but a nice atmosphere.

Best place for quiche, breakfast, and more!

By BobPhibbs |

SO good! SO fresh. Service and food are always top notch and the location is right down the block from the Essex House, right next to another fave Gabriel's. Highly recommend.

Good location

By susanmary6 |

Looking for somewhere "classy" for dinner and this fitted the bill. Good table layout with tablecloths, nice "cosy" atmosphere. Service was good and a decent choice of menu and our food was quickly delivered and hot. . Of course, not the cheapest but this is NYC and nothing is cheap.

A 5-Star Surprise!

By BabyBlueOwl |

We met another couple (who live in Brooklyn) at 9:30 on Sunday morning for early brunch. They made the reservation and when we realized we were in a chic and crowded spot on Central Park South my expectations were - frankly - pretty low. Restaurant was packed but to our surprise, service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. Varied menu with options to please seemingly “anyone.” And the food was excellent!

Average

By Michael J |

Visited during my stay in the City. Once with my friend for Saturday brunch. Service was great and the food was to die for. Once on my own before my flight back to London. Again food was first class however this time service was no more than 3*. Had to ask for a tea spoon several times and my food arrived in portions 10 min apart. Would I come back? Probably but there is much nicer place next door.

What a Treat!

By OnTheRoad27 |

It's hard to review this location for Sarabeth's without running out of superlatives. What a wonderful dining experience we had here! Everything about it, first to last, was a pleasure. It's a very popular spot, and once you experience it, you can see that this is not just a matter of location (opposite Central Park) but the top quality of the food, drink, and service. We went there for Sunday brunch, and even though it was crowded, we were given patient, attentive service and were never made to feel rushed. Above all, they took scrupulous care in accommodating my husband's severe food allergy. The drinks here are generous, innovative, and delicious. The food is the best, with a LOT of choices on the menu (Not just brunch standards). I had a hard time deciding which dish to choose, but even while I was savoring the one I finally selected I consoled myself with the thought that this simply meant we will HAVE to come back to Sarabeth's on Central Park South the next time we're visiting New York.

Another great experience

By Gail Goldman |

Came for dinner and lucky to get an outdoor table which we love. The staff was great from Jose the host to Mitzi, our waitress and her supporting team. Dishes arrived in a timely fashion and they gave us time to have our wonderful tomato soup before the entrée. I always request a sweeter white wine but they never put a Riesling on the list. That would be my only criticism. Otherwise the food is always good as well as the service and the ambiance. Although the restaurant is pricey, it is worth the treat every once in a while.

Blend food at best

By Felipe P |

The ambiance was OK, but the food was blend at best… from the overall looks of the restaurant and how the food was described on the menu, I was expecting something a bit memorable. Unfortunately it was everything but. My omelette was tasteless, the avocado that came clearly was not freshly cut, the salad came overdressed and the scone seemed and tasted to have seen better days. The only positive was our server: Maurice. He was friendly, professional and made everything possible fóruns to feel welcomed.

Sarabeth’s

By Ralph Opacic |

Sarabeth’s is definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a good brunch. The use of ingredients and unique touches really enhances the dining experience making each bite truly enjoyable. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere along with the service adds to the charm. The menu provides a good selection of dishes to choose from

Restaurant to flee

By Alexandre A |

Extremely expensive for medium quality. $14 for industrial orange juice is pitiful. $160 extra for 3 courses and 3 orange juices. Restaurant to flee!

Lovely place for breakfast

By Jenny G |

Our breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice, the service was great and the food delicious. We sat outside and although a little noisy it was fascinating sitting there, watching the world go by.

Sarabeth's doesn't disappoint!

By Food_Snob_PA |

A bit upscale but relaxed setting just blocks from Times Square directly across with the park. This was a repeat visit. Came back because of the good food, very good service, menu choices and the pretty darn good food. Wasn't disappointed with this second visit. Recommend the Seafood Cobb Salad but haven't had a bad plate served on either trip.

Delicious breakfast.

By bobbyripe |

Went for Sunday brunch and it was packed. Had not been able to make a reservation for 4, but was able to make 2 reservations for 2 each. Requested to be seated together and they immediately agreed. The service extremely friendly, efficient and quick. The food was very, very good, although our Eggs Benedict arrived barely warm.

Restaurant for tourists

By Su G |

I reserved a table for 10 and was squeezed into a corner. The restaurant is crowded and loud. The service was very slow and the fresh squeezed orange juice is out of the box. I found my 2 poached eggs lukewarm and my side salad gritty ($22). It took the waiter 15 minutes to get our drink order then another 30 for food. When the food came one of my guests didn't get his french toast till everyone was almost done with their meal. To top it off the smoked salmon was slimy and they don't have bagels for their smoked salmon platter just toast. All in all our bill came out to $780.00. Not worth it and never going back.

The best spot for breakfast around

By Thejauntingsoul |

Every time we visit NYC we eat here every morning and sometimes go back for lunch…. It’s that good. The best breakfast I’ve ever had, anywhere, in any restaurant… my only complaint is I wish there was one in my city!

Good and tasteful unpretentious food

By jjsmonaco |

Nice and quiet. The place next to Central Park didn’t offer a big choose of plates but the food was good quality and tasteful We had steak frites and seafood salad Both plates were good Not exceptional but good

Will not come back here again

By Sanja |

Terrible service, refused to reheat my sandwich even I asked politely. Will not return again , there are many other places I’d rather eat .

Excellent brunch!

By Ashley W |

Delicious, fresh food, and excellent service. We were in and out rather quickly, as well. We had reservations and were taken straight to our table. Highly recommend!

Great breakfast

By H3658FQtracyd |

Stumbled across Sarabeth’s after a wander in Central Park one evening. Had a late dinner on the patio. Great food, and very friendly service, who informed us that they are famous for their breakfast. Went back 2 days later for breakfast, and were very impressed. For any meal, this place is a winner.

Sarabeth’s will not disappoint

By Lisa B |

What a treat! The perfect place to enjoy a wonderful breakfast on a cold winter’s day. The French Toast was fluffy and just about melted in my mouth. My husband’s omelette was delicious. The coffee was hot, toast was perfectly toasted, and the fruit was fresh. EVERYTHING was excellent. I highly recommend Sarabeth’s if you’re strolling Central Park and want an excellent meal in a quaint, upscale restaurant.

Breakfast recommendations

Went on recommendation. Not disappointed. Make a reservation. Frederick was awesome. All the staff who came in contact with us were professional and pleasant. A well oiled machine.

Terrible

By lifen |

Bad service, cold and unfriendly. Slow service, bad seating. No internet but long waiting for after being seated. Terrible terrible terrible terrible

Very dissapointed with the service

By Pablo F |

We went today with my wife and son for brunch. Sarabeth’s food is outstanding. However, the service ruins the whole gastronomic experience. A server named Gus was extremely rude to my wife. For respect to my family and to avoid escalation, my only reaction was to complain with the manager. It’s very unlikely that I’ll go back to a place that allows customers’ mistreatment such as this.

Get your wallet out

By Chiara M |

Local just outside central park and being renowned for its pancakes and brunches we decided to try to have breakfast there. We ordered two portions of pancakes with fruit, I must say delicious and super soft. Nice place, quite chic, but prices out of control. In addition to the pancakes we ordered two orange juices and a cappuccino, total $103. Anything goes, they're still pancakes.

Great breakfast

By Steve D |

We came here for a special occasion, as it was recommended by staff at a nearby store. We weren’t disappointed. The service, menu and food was very good. It’s such a busy place but credit must go to the whole team for their efforts to make things as smooth as possible.

Poor service

By BJK01 |

Sarabeth’s was one of the locations on our NYC bucketlist, suggested by family. Our breakfast reservation was made weeks before. At 8am, we were appointed a table prepared for 4 (we were with 5). Waiters did not notice, we had to inform them after quite some time without any waiter looking after us. Three (!) water glassed had to be returned, not clean. No excuses. By the way: I saw that glasses are not dried after cleaning and stored partially wet upside down on a dishcloth. Seems hygiene issue. Waiter serving water was not paying attention and equal uninterested as our main waiter, needed to ask to refill empty glasses. The food was good, but given the poor service not a reason to return and not worth the high prices (2 eggs $25 + additional $14 for bacon on the side!). Soon after we left, I received an email with a survey, where I informed them about our experience. Shortly after, the general manager sent a personal reply, indicating ‘he was equally disappointed with your experience here at Sarabeth's Central Park South as you are. It is simply not what you should expect from us.’ He asked ‘some time to regroup with his team to further look into our experience.’ The next email a day later was less personal, mentioning ‘It was a pleasure to have you dine with us yesterday!’ We had breakfast….. No further details… There are many better breakfast alternatives in NYC than this….

Bet on Sarabeth’s Central Park location for great fare in NYC

Great spot for a large family gathering, excellent staff and great fare. Reservation is recommended. Parking at a nearby lot will make for a good post prandial stroll.

Don't Bother with Sarabeth's

I had great expectations, because a friend with an excellent palate recommended this place. We ordered pop-overs, which are supposed to be one of their signature things to eat and they were dry. One of our dishes was the kale salad with grilled chicken--the kale tasted weird (I'm a kale lover), had little vinaigrette, and the chicken was dry and had a green look to it. It was horrible! It was a super crowded, busy, uncomfortable place to enjoy a meal. Our waiter was OK, but he treated the patron next to me with rude comments because he didn't like a couple of the items he got. I was shocked that a place with a reputation like Sarabeth's was so disappointing. Never again, there's too many great places in NYC to experience.

Expensive and scores a 6/10

By Matthew F |

This place was recommended as a must visit in NYC. The food was slightly above average. For reference our scoring based on: 10/10 - Best food we have ever eaten (in 50 years) 9/10 - Michelin 3 star 8.5/10 - Michelin 2 star 8/10 - Michelin 1 star 7/10 - Great food 6/10 - Can cook better at home 5/10 - Average Unfortunately Sarabeth's gets a 6/10, as its borderline 'can cook better', and to be honest, just not worth the money. A thousand places in NYC that offer better food and way more value. You pay for location (but to be honest, if you are indoors, you could be anywhere)...

Excellent experience

By David L |

We truly enjoy Sarabeth's. The food is excellent, the venue is incredibly comfortable despite its size, and the wait staff is great. They are appropriately attentive and pleasant. I am impressed with the hiring and training they get. Thanks for a wonderful experience.

More than good

By CliveWatkins |

Your opinion here would change if you were there on a weekend or midweek. Weekends are chaotic. But this is a great not your average breakfast/lunch place. I don’t know about dinner. If your a fan of interesting twists to breakfast fare, this is the place. Breads and popovers are very good, fresh made egg plates that come like you like them. Other great choices as well as coffee drinks . Staff was friendly and helpful, and there when you need them. Great location. New York prices.

Excellent for breakfast

By Lilia |

It is delicious, it is necessary to have reservation because it fills a lot!!! It has a varied menu and the service is very good

Traditional breakfast one step away I'm coming! Central Park.

By Borish |

Sarabeth’s is one of those iconic places in New York where you go to pamper yourself, especially for breakfast or brunch. The location, just across from Central Park, is already a plus in itself: perfect for starting the day with calm and taste. The menu is rich and well structured, with both sweet and savory proposals. I ordered the famous pancakes and they were really delicious: soft, fragrant and served with maple syrup and fresh fruit. Benedict eggs also deserve a mention, well executed and accompanied by an excellent toasted English muffin. Very courteous service, although a bit slow at peak times. The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed, perfect for a breakfast with friends or for a special occasion. Prices are high, but in line with the quality and location. Overall, an experience to try at least once during a trip to NYC

Not great

By Shivani |

We had heard so much about Sarabeth's but the whole experience was not as expected. We found the food very bland, no salt in the potatoes, the pancakes were tasteless and there was so much cream cheese in the omelette! Waiters seemed to be very moody, they barely cracked a smile. It felt very awkward to even ask why my daughters orange juice hadn't turned up 30 mins after placing the order. After the check had arrived, we paid with cash and left a tip. Immediately the waiter charged over and asked why we hadn't given 30% as 'that's what all diners normally tip' He made it extremely difficult to let us leave without putting down more tip. In short, don't believe the hype! Nice setting and it's beautiful inside but the food and service is a big let-down.

Sarabeth's is eh...

By Curious446526 |

Right off Central Park, this lil restaurant has high aspirations, but misses the mark. It's cute, quaint, and plays some good music at a volume you can hear but doesn't interfere with conversation. But, the food was only so-so at a very high price. Dishes are remarkably average, unimaginative, and the presentation is unremarkable. For the price, I'd expect fine-dining. And while they aspired to meet that mark, they missed. Maybe, aim lower and hit the mark or work harder.

Good!

By travelling teen |

Sarabeth’s have enjoyable and convenient meals, ideal for a quick meal with family. All of the party were satisfied with this restaurant’s food. However, the service was unpredictable - sometimes it is efficient, other times poor.

Breakfast at Sarabeth's

By pipinas9 |

Lovely local a stone's throw from Central Park. The breakfast was great and the staff very helpful. They offer a wide choice of dishes, breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Great Brunch!

By crackjack246 |

Great breakfast! The French toast, bacon, eggs, omelets, and juice were all delicious. You need to make reservations. Atmosphere was wonderful as well !

A NYC institution.

By Draupadie W |

An absolute favorite for brunch, it’s almost like an institution. But I also attended a friends rehearsal dinner here and it was one of those lovely spots to have a dinner at . Loved the food and the vibe in brought .

OK dinner in a space needing an update

By IvyDad |

Planned this spot for an early dinner on way to Lincoln Center as this is located in convenient Central Park location. Had been many years since last visit to a Sarabeth's. Food was good, nothing special, had the puff pastry chicken pot pie which was soupy in nature but tasty. Also, dinner salad and fries. Service was friendly. On a Saturday evening, only 2 other tables in the dining room. Decor is a bit worn. Is the lease expiring? Not a special occasion place.

Sarabeths is more than just preserves. Visit their sites in New York City.

By Marvin G |

Everyone is familiar with Sarabeth’s spreadable fruit preserves including Blood Orange Marmalade, to Blueberry Cherry, Mango and Chunky Apple varieties. Since we were spending a week in New York, we decided to have Sunday breakfast-brunch at Sarabeth’s on Central Park South. While the tables were crammed close together ala New York style, there was little else to complain about. Morris was a purist and ordered two eggs fried with Applewood smoked bacon and toast with preserves. Ness had the Yoghurt bowl with fresh cutup fruit and granola. Aly and Arlee had the Garden Omelette filled with peas, mushrooms, zucchini, and cheddar cheese. Monica indulged herself with the Smoked Salmon Benedict. I had the Farmers Omelette that was filled with leeks, ham, potatoes and gruyere cheese. Each dish was served with a mini-green salad and a choice of muffin (English, Corn, Bran, Banana, Pumpkin, Berry-Corn), Croissant, Scone, or Toast & Preserves. Other than Morris, we all had muffins: three pumpkin muffins, one bran and one banana. They were delicious. I didn’t see one crumb on anyone’s plate. Sarabeth’s was a great decision and everyone left satiated as I believe that the omelettes contained three eggs.

Good breakfast. High price

By Francesco A |

We ate eggs benedict, pancaked a bottle of water and coffee and paid about $100. Location very nice, nice, friendly and helpful staff. We sat right down. The only flaw is that in my opinion it is a bit expensive considering the amount of places in ny where you can eat the same things at lower prices and maybe even better! Overall however good, to try.

Favorite location

By Beth C |

Great place for a lovely weekday brunch. Particularly like this location, great atmosphere, service, food and drinks

Terrible experience

By lrecanati |

They don't honour reservations, we had to wait for 30 minutes even though we had a reservation. Once seated we waited ages for a waiter to bring the menus. Bad attitude, never again.

Rude waiter

By Hazel I |

When we arrived our waiter came over and asked if we've like still or sparkling, we said still.. while waiting for our water i noticed other tables were drinking tap water (he did not offer us this option) and when he arrived back with 2 bottles of water i asked him about having tap and he barked aggressively back at me that i didnt ask for tap and couldnt change my mind now. $20 dollars on water that i didnt appreciate paying for. Your waiter let you down Sarabeths.

great brunch, bad service

By memole92 |

For us mandatory stop every time we return to New York, however this time unqualified reception service and also rude and arrogant all three people (a woman, a boy and a girl), despite having a reservation. Obviously the timetable has been widely disregarded. Great quality food as always, high prices but average city

Good food.

By hmb50 |

The food was good and service was quick. We enjoyed breakfast. Good sized portions. We liked it enough that we reserved for breakfast again.

Great Restaurant

By Monica J |

Lovely spot right across from Central Park. The food was wonderful, and the service was great! Wonderful place to grab a lunch in the city.

Central Park Cafe/Restaurant

This is an excellent choice for brunch or lunch opposite Central Park. Great quality food. Tables outside. Worth a visit

Nice Place and Mixed Feelings on the Food

By M. Tawang Kirana |

Came here for a brunch around May, and quite confused if I may say. Good variety of food, with taste that could have been better perhaps (compared to the price). The various American breakfast was nice, but the coffee was a bit disappointing. Looks like always crowded during brunch-time and an additional toilet will help. However, still had a lovely discussions over brunch in the heart of NY, plus got great services.

Delicious. Come back again

By MARIA L A |

Great food. Everything we order was amazing Kid friendly food Staff was excellent and so kind We did not have a reservation in advance and we received a very good service

Terrible !

By BTA |

Worst experience ever ! Near the bathroom and having the customers waiting in our back On top windy place and very cold ! Food average Overall location not clean and welcoming Completely overpriced and overrated ! Do not recommend at all Avoid

Brunch

By Vale 🌴 |

Brunch Like New Yorker, I came to this place with my boyfriend I had already been there a few years ago.... we had pan cakes and then a savory breakfast both good, it is a stop that never misses when I return to NY, friendly staff

Fantastic brunch for four

By Emma Lucas-Copley |

Huge portions Delicious food Great service! We were a group of four and we’re quickly seated on a Thursday morning for brunch. The ambience was perfect and the service excellent. On the pricey side but to be expected with the location and atmosphere. Would happily return.

Terrible

By Julie K |

The host was rude and obnoxious. Hour wait even with reservation. Then sat in front by door and constant wind with door open. Don’t waste your time. Plenty of places to eat in NYC

Great breakfast spot!

By Megan Graves |

This was such a cute spot for breakfast before a day in Central Park. It was expensive but with that being said we didn’t know the portions were so large and could have got away with sharing plates which would have reduced cost. The staff were amazing and friendly and very efficient. Overall would highly recommend. It was very clean. It also had restrooms which seems to kind of rare in NYC. Reservations were recommended and so we booked for 9am and it wasn’t crowded at all. It’s right by the entry to Central Park so the location is great.

Worth visiting

By NIA |

We had a large family breakfast, everyone enjoyed the food, nice service with friendly waiters, absolutely worth visiting…

Sarabeth-40 West 59th Street

By Ryeman51 |

We enjoyed Sunday Brunch in June, 2022. There was not an open table at 11 am, so consider reservations. I love to try homemade cocktails, so I ordered “It’s About Thyme” made with bourbon, thyme infused sugar syrup lemon juice and Creme de Peche (pear liquor). The drink is a creation of the bartender (Mikal?) and is not to be ignored. I had to have a second because it was so refreshing. On the way out, I stopped by the bar and complimented Mikal on his creation and he rewarded me with the recipe. I will not divulge it so you have to stop in and order one (or two). Plus the food is outstanding so you will not be disappointed. Just be sure to let them know you are coming. Oh, and service is exceptional also.

Awful

By Alison J |

Don’t waste your money here. It used to be a classy place to come. Now you get paper napkins, straws as stirrers, incorrect orders and substandard food. It was a treat to come here but clearly it’s become over commercialised and standards they once had are not evident anymore. Go somewhere else. Very disappointing.

Probably the Worst Restaurant Experience in my Life

By WorknForVacation |

Long wait, even with online reservation. Was sat smooshed between window and a table to my right which measured 5-6 inches from ours. I literally texted my husband how uncomfortable I was because we couldn’t have any type of conversation without the people next to us hearing the entire thing. Food was not special. Nothing good about the experience at all.

Perfect

By Stf |

Very nice , great friendly atmosphere, great steaks and hamburgers with sensational fries 👍 and also a good wine list.

Excellent breakfast location

By Dana Los Angeles |

Very Good breakfast location facing Central Park. Popular with locals and visitors, varied menu with excellent options. Good service and nice environment.

Poor service - mediocre food - over priced

By ColmandCaoimhe |

We went for a family dinner. Service was slow, inattentive and off hand. The food options were fine. I ordered off a fixed menu and got a portion size that you would expect for a child. Deserts were generally poor. We were in the middle of eating our mains when we were told that we would need to order our deserts as the kitchen was closing at 9:30. We reserved for 8:30, we were never informed of this restriction until we were literally starting our main courses. We were then not quite thrown out, but enthusiastically encouraged to leave the restaurant at 10. You then feel obligated to pay an 18% tip for terrible service as you don’t want to impact the people who are at the end of the service chain. All in all a really poor experience. The one high point was champagne was half price for Mondays. (If we had the time to drink it)

Farmed Salmon

By naomi k s |

I had the mushroom/egg omelet which I found oversized. Could easily be shared with 2 people. Daughter's ordered salmon eggs benny - the server said it was wild. Upon receipt I knew it was farmed. The manager confirmed. I scraped it off my kids plates The service was exceptional. The staff kind but, sadly not knowledgeable. For an upscale restaurant in a poshed neighborhood I am stupefied anything farmed is used. It made me feel folks are more concerned about their materialistic wears vs the quality of food they put into their bodies.

Tables are tight together

By StephenCross |

Sarabeth’s at Central Park South is a busy place with a high turnover of Tables. Good atmosphere and nice buzz. Food is tasty.

Good location but overpriced for mediocre lunch

By eastside2 |

Lunch was quite mediocre despite being pretty expensive. Also the restaurant is a bit run down. Location is great on Central Park South but people should walk a few blocks south and there are plenty of good choices.

Scam

By Gabriel A |

We had a brunch at an exorbitant price for standard quality, the “squeezed” orange juice tastes like joker juice at $14, I don’t understand, avoca egg toast for $25 to make yourself, they just bring us the ingredients . And if at a distance the staff was pleasant...but we came across a waiter who was showing his face the whole meal And Americans must be taught to wait until EVERYONE has finished eating before starting to clean up.

Lunch

By Laura T |

Our food was amazing, but our waiter wasn’t very kind, we asked for water and he didn’t even get us water what kind of service is that?

I recommend

By Sarah E |

Very nice place. We enjoyed a sea salad. Very pleasant and smiling service. Very nice decoration of the interior room!

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or just a cocktail - the greatest

By Robert P N |

SaraBeth Central Park is our favorite for breakfast. Or lunch. There used to be three locations. Now there are many. Even one in Dubai. They are always busy. Active. Everyone including the customers are friendly and happy. And when you are done you can take a stroll through Central Park Highly recommend

Great pancakes but breakfast "very salty"

By Luigi Piccolo |

The place is beautiful and ideal for a nicer breakfast although being super crowded is a bit noisy. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The pancakes are delicious and plentiful being 5 per plate, accompanied by butter and maple syrup. The price is expensive in my opinion considering that for example Nutella is paid separately. The price of orange juice is also high ($16). The breakfast included tip came $100 which is the price generally paid for a dinner. Experience to do once when going to New York but not to be repeated unless you have a swollen wallet

A Very Poor Experience

By Phil C |

Our dear friends were in town for a show and the following day we met them and another couple for brunch.. We had reservations at 12:30 pm arrived a few minutes early and were not seated until 12:55 pm. Okay, that wasn't so bad- what was bad was everything else. The wait staff dint greet use for 15 minutes, didn't pour water for an additional 5 minutes and didn't take our order until 1:25 pm. The waiter didn't bring coffee until prodded three times- his excuse was that it was brewing- but when it did arrive it was warm and old. Now the food- we ordered omelets that included your choice of a scone, muffin or an English muffin. They were out of scones and pop-overs wait, what? THEY WERE OUIT OF SCONES AT BRUNCH. THIS IS SARABETH"S NOT DENNY'S The food with the exception of the lemon-ricotta pancakes was tasteless and lacked any seasoning and when we asked for ketchup or tabasco to make the food somewhat edible it took another 10 minutes for the waiter to respond. Poor Food Poor Execution Poor Waitstaff all for $195.00 What a shame..

Tired, once-great iconic eatery

By Jonathan J |

A once great restaurant that no longer cares. For $49, you get a tasteless cup of cappuccino, a stale popover, and scrambled eggs supposedly with boursin cheese and truffle oil that has neither cheese nor truffle oil. Cramped tables, trading on its past reputation

Hostess Ruined Brunch

By albertasn0wbird |

The restaurant is pretty and large, only about half full and we were seated at a table in the back. The tables are pretty close together. The brunch we ordered was pretty standard but good and we were enjoying until the hostess came back to seat another couple right next to us, despite all the empty spaces. She told us we would have to move our coats from the bench next to us. Where were we supposed to put our coats? No one offered to hang them. There were no hooks or coatracks to be seen. Why would they put someone smack up against us when there was so much available space? This thoughtless, unkind treatment soured the whole experience.

Dinner

By Joana Devis |

The favourite one was the dessert we loved the the cake even we grabbed one to go afterwards. The place was crowded little bit.

Almost excellent

By Edward W |

Got stuck at a bad table location. Tables for two squeezed into traffic paths. Having said that, food and service was really good. Surprisingly quick. Perfect place on a really cold Sunday morning walking and shopping. Arrived at 11:30. Parties of 2-3 were seated very quickly. Larger parties had to wait for awhile. Farmers omelette nice and large - very filling.

Yum

By Meander00168905465 |

Tomato soup and grilled cheese was yum. Lobster roll was amazing!! We had a really wonderful lunch. I would definitely go back. Conveniently located by Central Park.

Must do!

By EHumphriestravels |

Must do if in NYC!! Always our first stop for brunch. Food and service are always excellent. Have tried many different thins- never disappoints.

Terrible Staff, all of them. A big shame.

By Luis Javier |

Terrible service…..Unfriendly staff, very rude, impolite. Had breakfast with my children and after asking for more sirope for their pancakes the buzzer went ballistic. He even told me to went out and settle. Never ever coming back to this place. BIG disappointment, unneeded violence. Worse with kids.

Breakfast highly recommended!

By Lynda McD |

My family and I were staying in The Plaza at the end of December 2022 but we decided to have breakfast elsewhere on one of the mornings so we picked Sarabeth's which is literally down the street from The Plaza and opposite Central Park. The restaurant is much bigger than you expect. The service and food were both excellent. I would highly recommend this place although get there early as there was a queue out the door when we were leaving (we arrived at 8am as soon as it opened).

Avoid

By Micah S |

915am reservation. Told to wait while we are right by the hostess stand. They are telling people same party size as ours to wait 20min (4 people) who are getting sat before us. 945am rolls around and we finally get a table. Table is dirty, area is SUPER crammed. No waiter. We sat there another 10min no one came up. Tables all around us looking for service. Needless to say we walked out after completely wasting our morning with them. No apologies nothing, just terrible. I have never had a worse experience.

Brunch very good

By Catherine |

If you like brunch you should go. We ordered eggs which were very delicious with toast. And the French toast uffff! They are fluffy and delicious! We also ordered coffee and latte which are also very good.

A very bad experience

By Lugo974 |

A very bad experience. we were waiting for over an hour, we were unable to sit down because as we had anticipated we had to go to catch our flight. throughout the wait, we were told that they were preparing our table, but only other customers with smaller tables walked by. bad management and useless waiting for over an hour: the most unpleasant thing is the attitude of the staff at the reception.

Good but go to other location!

By Whitney T |

Definitely a popular place & was good. Service wasn’t great as they were so busy. Tables are packed in to every nook & cranny of the restaurant & not enough servers. BUT went to the original location on Amsterdam & it was much much better!!! Would recommend this restaurant but specifically the original location.

Nice for lunch or brunch

By LBHouston11 |

Wonderful salads and burger. Fair service and be sure to not get stuck in a corner and miss the ambience. They even charged for a coke refill. Oh well….its NYC!

"BREAKFAST IN NEW YORK"

By Laura D |

OPTIMAL!!! BREAKFAST YOU MUST TRY AT LEAST ONCE!!! we liked EVERYTHING from the pancakes to the eggs in every way....plus the place is very, very nice and welcoming, typically New York even with the pleasant music in the background! WELL DONE!!!

Huge place but you wouldn’t know - a cosy spot

By Gerbra_10 |

We booked in for Sunday brunch, booking in advanced is required. This looks like a small place, but wait until your taken into the middle and then back room. We were in the back room near the window. Really busy and tables close together but there is so much buzz no-one can actually hear anyone else. We had a great server, who made a few jokes based on our English accents “cheers” when delivering our drinks. Quiche, a salad and fries followed by a cheese cake, very yummy indeed. The only down side is there is only 3 toilets for the whole place. A solid recommendation.

Nice Brunch Spot by Central Park

By CorvetteKatie |

We used Open Table to book a reservation about an hour before we planned to arrive. We only aired a few minutes for the table after we arrive though they were very busy. We were seated in a cute atrium area with hanging florals. I had eggs Benedict, daughter had quiche and we tried each other’s dishes. I liked the quiche best - but everything was good and the prices were fair. This was my daughter’s second visit and why we are there - she highly recommended it. I would eat here again.

A must go to for brunch

By Claude F |

This place has excellent food and a varied menu. Brunch is amazing here but reservations are a must otherwise you face long line ups.

To try

By Agnese |

Breakfast at Sarabeth's in Central Park, a chic but not particularly formal place, frequented by tourists and local customers (many for business lunches or breakfasts). Four of us shared a plate of scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage, a plate of pancakes, freshly squeezed juice and coffee for everyone. Aside from the coffee, the food is excellent, the portions generous, the eggs were perfectly creamy and the pancakes were soft and digestible. High price (around $40 each) for a breakfast, considering that we only ordered two dishes to share. It's worth trying once for the experience.

Only has fame

By SergioRic |

Bad service. Oh, bad. crowded place. With reservation we wait 30 minutes. Barulhento. Pre-made food. It only has a name. Carone ruim. Place a table up to the emergency exit.

Great Breakfast in NYC

We had a great breakfast here. French toast was incredible. Service was also great. Overall thanks for a great breakfast in nyc.

Favorite brunch spot in NYC

By Tara H |

The food and mimosas are always excellent. We tried a carafe of the five flowers mimosa this time around which were delicious. Great service. The tables due tend to be packed in pretty close but I expect this in a big city restaurant with limited space.

NYC Trip

By dlayd1 |

This is a cute spot the is very convenient by Central Park. Good amount of choices on menu for brunch. We had mixed quality in the dishes we chose in our group. Service was fair and expected better.

Yummy and fresh breakfast in great spot

By Harriet P |

We came here as we got to Central Park and were desperate for breakfast and this had the best reviews. We were in and out pretty quickly and over $130 dollars is a lot for breakfast but when you think about the location and convenience to the park it makes sense that it has a highly priced menu. It was about $14 dollars not including tax just for an orange juice but as I said, location costs. The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves. It is a high turnover place so not somewhere you would feel you could sit and take your time but everyone was friendly, helpful and good quality food. We both had eggs, avocado and burrata which tasted so fresh. Thank you for a lovely breakfast.

Very bad food and worse service. Disgusting bathroom.

By Jessica |

We wanted to try this brunch because it is always full, and the truth is that we were quite disappointed. We tried the filet mignon, the avocado toast, the buger and the ricotta pancakes and everything was very medriocre. We had to return the avocado toast because they practically didn't have avocado. And when they arrived again, the avocado came mixed with water. The filet mignon was clearly NOT filet. Tough and dry meat. And the pancakes taste very bad. It took them 25 minutes to get to the table after I went to look for a waiter, because no one was serving us. The bathroom is disgusting and old. A disappointment.

I expected more.

By Vacation814930 |

Very busy place, but I’m not really sure why to be honest. We went for breakfast and found is average at best and very expensive for what it was. A glass of orange juice, which seemed like it was out of a container for 15 dollars. The pancakes and the French toast were dry with a side of butter- at 30 dollars each? It was disappointing. I expected more.

Great and surprising taste

By Luc |

Very busy place, but we succeeded to find a table for two. We ate a great chicken salad with a lot of vegetables. Great and surprising taste.

Terrible food & service

By MAUREEN M |

The WORST food I’ve had in nyc in decades! Service was awful, restroom was FILTHY, and the food was disgusting. My burger was overdone dog food…..fries were limp, tasteless, and probably frozen. My friends fish was definitely not fresh. Horrible, absolutely horrible

Just excellent

By lovegoodservice1 |

I can’t think of anything other than fantastic to describe. Service was amazing - waiter was excellent - really friendly, efficient and on top of things. Food was really good. Service was brilliant even when restaurant was absolutely packed. Great omelette for breakfast. Nice hot coffee. Will def return.

Very nice brunch

By 404UnaR |

Had brunch there a couple of weeks ago after a walk in Central Park. I had a delicious salad and my husband had an omelette which was light and fluffy! I had a delicious pickled Bloody Mary. Service was good. It was a pleasant experience!

Extraordinary breakfast

By GregH |

My wife, son and his wife had Breakfast at Sarabeth's this past weekend. We had a short wait, but not more than the 15 minutes mentioned by the hostess. The restaurant was really nicely decorated and had a full bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made great recommendations since we mentioned this was our first visit. We really enjoyed the Mimosa's and what better way to start the day than with a pitcher, which was far more economical than ordering by the glass. We ordered the skillet Cinnamon roll and split it four ways. This gave us a single bite to start our breakfast. It was delicious. My son and I ordered the Garden Omelet and we both really liked the flavors with fresh vegetables. The side of bacon was tasty and crispy. My wife really liked her waffle and could not eat the entire serving. My DIL ordered the French Toast and it looked great. The atmosphere and ambiance is not what you'd expect of a breakfast restaurant...it was relatively quiet and the waiters and servers were very professional and friendly. This restaurant has an excellent staff! I'd highly recommend Sarabeth's to anyone looking for a more upscale breakfast experience.

Lovely Sunday brunch

By Emma0276 |

Sunday brunch, nice cocktails and good food. Definitely recommend booking ahead as clearly very popular. Friendly front of house/servers.

Institution yes, but perhaps it has had its day

By Nic-thetrip |

We book 3 weeks in advance for a brunch for 4. Once we arrive at the restaurant, the reservation doesn't appear when I show the email, the table magically appears. We order 2 pancakes with blueberries, a French toast and an omelette to accompany with a carafe of mimosa. The dishes are good, but not wow, especially the French toast (to my personal taste) too heavy compared to the standards. Price 210 dollars (with 20% tips) for me a little too expensive given the raw material. Small dispute on the account they bring us 20 dollars less change, we point it out and they only bring back half of it (I believe in good faith that they don't handle cash very often). In conclusion for me an overrated thread. you can find better!

Terrible Service!!

By k w |

When we arrived we expected a fun , delicious meal but that is not what actually happened! From the very beginning of our meal the service was terrible ! We asked for water , coffee and a pitcher of bloody Mary’s . We waited at least 20-25 min for the coffee and water , finally the pitcher of bloody Mary’s arrived , warm , and with no extra accompaniments. We asked for an order of popovers and proceeded to watch the servers pass us 3 times carrying the order back and forth to other tables . We finally snagged the server and suggested that they should come to our table . She checked with the kitchen and decided that yes , they were our order . They were cold and actually burned . We finally got our coffee which was definitely from very early in the morning ! It was not hot and it tasted like it had bees sitting on a burner for hours ! Our actual meal wasn’t too bad , but no server came to ask if all was ok. We had to “grab” staff as they walked by to find our server to come and refill long empty drinks and remove dirty plates . The restaurant was nice and cheerful . The service and some of the food and drinks were terrible ! I’m sure this restaurant can do better . The manager was called over and the situation was discussed . He did comp the warm Bloody Mary pitcher . That’s it .

Yummy food in a beautiful location

By Lesliz |

Beautiful location and delicious food. Do not miss the popovers with orange marmalade for the table! I had the Benedict and it was good. Others in the party had avocado toast and quiche - both reported that they were excellent. Quick service. Always a wait but we put our names on the list and made a quick lap around a pond at Central Park which was so fun!

Sunday Brunch

By R-Kroum S |

Sunday brunch with family. We booked the table very early for 6 peoples but we got a table for 4. The food is very expensive and arrived to the table very cold. The cocktails are very bad! Hopefully the server was very friendly.

Incredibly Slow

By Robby P |

The food was good but the service was extremely slow. We had a reservation and had to ask about thirty minutes later to see what was going on. We were seated and it took a long time for the waitress to show up and we ordered food and drinks on the first visit. Food was very slow coming out, but like I said it was fine. Never got any refills on drinks at all. I know everything is expensive in NYC but I would expect better service for the price.

Always Delicious & Delightful!

Have eaten at 3 different Sarabeths in NYC and love them all! Each are unique and in menu and atmosphere. My favorites are: Breakfast Oatmeal at UW Side Lemon-Ricotta Pancakes on S. 5th Chopped Salad/Tomato Soup-C.Park Love the outdoor seating options at all! Just discovered the one on S. 5th has a great happy hour daily too! Hope to return to all someday:)
