Nice environment , average food

By Manny13trip |

I liked the service but expected better food after friends praised the restaurant. A guy in our team ordered one of the fish items and said it was very good but my dish, a mixed grill, was just average. I liked their appetizers more than the few entrees I tried.

Authentic Lamb, Beef & Chicken Kababs

By KiwiBob1948 |

The food is halal, and the staff respect the sensibilities of veiled Muslim women and children in having areas to eat with privacy, while still welcoming all to enjoy their marinade of fresh lemon, aromatic olive oils and fragrant spices.

Lunch after Church

By BordeauxGuy3 |

The restaurant was filled with family diners. Super fresh and tasty middle eastern food. The service was prompt and attentive. I had the vegetarian sampler. The humas was so good and the flat bread is to die for.

Sadara Group

For us arabs who came to houston, this restaurant is very good. The best so far. It's really good and the staff are friendly

Good Lunch

By tazman1099 |

Had lunch here during the week with a friend. Fast service and good food. Lentil Soup was really good. Chicken Kabob was ok, but a little dry. Total cost was $25 for two, plus tip.

Amazing Food!

By Reenerbeener |

This restaurant has the best Arabic food in the city of Houston. I am not a fish eater, but their homemade Sayadieh is to die for. It's a white fish filet over flavored rice and golden brown onions sprinkled with almonds. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Their humus is second to none and their hot fresh bread is wonderful. The menu is extensive and everything that I have tried is delicious. I eat here as often as possible.

Sunday lunch

By hotelsgreen |

Excellent Mediterranean grill, servings big enough for two. Mixed grill @ $15 is a plenty of food for two, possibly add a salad. Good service, beautiful restaurant, big windows.

Great Restaurant!

By WaelAlis |

This restaurant was just great! It is conveniently located on westheimer road near westchase district, where I was staying for a business trip. The restaurant looks nice on the exterior and interior.Got greeted decently by the staff, which were friendly and efficient (Special thanks to Fatima my waitress there for being very friendly). I ordered mixed grill and it was just perfect! very tasty and the portion size was huge. prices are very reasonable too and the fact that it serves halal food makes it a big advantage.Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a decent Mediterranean dinner and would definitely go again if I'm in Houston.

RUDE...RUDE...RUDE!!!!

By Kelly G |

Felt unwelcome from the moment we walked in the door!!!! The Young man that greeted us at the door barely mumbled a hello before he had a young woman show us to our seat. She seemed completely irritated and put out by the fact that she had to take us to a table. She didn't say hello... How are you?... Or anything at all until we let her (and a group of 4 other servers who were standing right by our table talking) know that we were ready to order. Then she promptly and rudely let us know that she "was not our server" right before she stomped off to find him. He eventually made his way over... He was nice enough but not in a hurry at all. The food was decent. Lamb kabob was good. The beef shawarma was dry and just ok flavor. When we asked for our check and he cleared and wiped our entire table before he meandered out with it. A 15% gratuity was added without asking us first.... I'm not sure if this is normal here.... But beware if you're from somewhere where this is not standard. If I was from the Houston area I would not come here again! It is a very nice looking restaurant with lots of potential... But a rude staff all hanging around talking... Way to busy to even say hi to guests... Is not going to help business.

I love this restaurant

By Thania Teran |

It was my second time there and every time I enjoyed! Everything is amazing, the food, the service and the place... love it!

Great value for lunch

By TX13SR13 |

Stop by this place to give it a try and glad we did. Had an excellent lunch for a very good price. The beef kabobs and hummus were great and meal was under $10. Will definitely go back there for lunch and possibly dinner. I want to give their fish a try. Fish was displayed on ice and looked promising.

Great Buffet.

By Flyer824047 |

Aroma and stomach on overtime

By Erik N |

OMG - you have to try the KABOBs they are made on a wooden fire and you can taste the originality. The lamb and the chicken was awesome, comes with biryani rice and vegetables + a side...their Greek salad and hummus is Super as well...oh I forgot you also get fresh clay oven made bread.

The food is amazing!

By Ally O |

We loved the food, can't wait to go back again. The staff is beyond friendly and nice. It's a little loud in the back (kitchen) but that's what make the charm of this place, very welcoming :)

Great place to go with your family. Clean, lots of variety of food, and peaceful. You should definitely give it a try!

By Shadi W |

We had cold Meza appetizer and the bread that came with it was fresh & hot. For meal I had fish called Hamour (known fish in the Persian Gulf region) the fixing that was in did remind me of mom cooking and had a bit of heat that I enjoyed. My friend had grill mix his chicken and beef were tender with middle eastern spices. Will be back

Fantastic Dinner

By Shanker B |

We ordered food to go from this restaurant. In spite of being Xmas Day - they were open till 9:45 PM. the food was ready by the time we arrive. They gave us all the plates, forks, spoons, etc. The food was absolutely fantastic. We order Baba Ganoush, falafel platter and cheese breads (pita grilled with syrian cheese). We also got an order of the crispy cauliflower and lentil soup. All of this was extremely economical as well. The whole check was only around $55. It was one of the best dinners we had over the entire vacation. Highly recommended.

Casual dinner

By Rudy V |

Absolutely delicious food! Some of the best falafel and kibbeh we've had in Houston! The hummus with chicken shawarma is excellent with the toasted almonds, the bread is fluffy and light with a bit of a crunch, and the ambiance is very relaxing. Don't forget a mint lemonade to refresh yourself.

Nice sea food

By Ali A |

It is one of the nice sea food restaurant in houston They have (( Meat Mandi )) only in Friday and Sat. The fishes are freash in the shop. Highly recommended.

Excellent service and food

By Yun Xiao Y |

Alex, our waiter explained very passionately to us what halal style of preparing meat is all about, and the care from this ritual reflected in the food we ordered. We went back and look for the same person but he was praying with his prayer beads and we got seated outside his station, though he still came by and told us we could have demanded to be seated in his section! The whole dining experience was super enhanced by Alex's friendliness and good humor! We joking asked what his "real" name was, and he said Alex WAS his real name because he was born in Australia! We had good laughs both times we visited! I'm sure we'll go back again next time we're in Houston!! Thank you very much, Alex!

Great food, but horrible service last time

By Ryan M |

I've been here a few times for lunch during the work week. It has a nice atmosphere and an excellent lunch menu. The food is very good. Much better, in fact, than the surrounding Mediterranean restaurants. However, my trip today was spoiled by very poor service. The order was incorrect, the correct food took much too long to arrive, and my party was ignored for almost half an hour. I will give them another shot.

One of the best food and restaurant ever

By sjveles |

Very nice and elegant atmosphere, extraordinary fresh food and five star service. If you visi for the first time in a group of 6-8 people please try the Large Mixed Family Meat Platter (for 5 people) with Lamb Chops, shish kabob, Kofta kabob, Shish Tawook, Meat & Chicken Shawarma, served with humus, babaganouj, fatoush salad. Believe me it's enough for 8 people! Seafood soup is another plate you must try. By the way this people have the best humus I have ever taste

Delightful Mediterranean restaurant

By Peter N |

Sayad provides quality Mediterranean cuisine at affordable prices in a bright and cheery environment that is as pleasing to the eyes as to the palate. They have excellent fruit drinks and fruit cocktails. If you fancy Mediterranean cuisine in Houston, this is one of the best places to indulge yourself. Don't be put off by its being up Westheimer, beyond the Beltway. It is worth the trip.

Good Food!

By taharaja |

Sayyad is relatively new and we tried it after a friend recommended it. The food was good, although a little on the expensive side for the quality and type of food. Ambience is good. When you enter the restaurant you get a little bit of a fishy smell probably due to the seafood they serve and I recommend the restaurant take care of that.

So delicious

By aljabri2013 |

We had a dinner in this restaurant , food is so delicious , place is clean , service is good and staff are so friendly. Overall the place is so nice.

Business owner

By Nader W |

I had my catering and I eat there often about 2-3 times a week, at sayad restaurant , their food is always excellent and top of the line service I recommend them to everyone.

Authentic taste

By Queences |

First ate here fir a lunch buffet and could not help myself ! Their offerings were traditional, authentic, and had something for everyone. So happy they are on door dash. Food never disappoints ! I can eat here everyday

Still the best Mediterranean Restaurant in town

By SteveA |

We went there for dinner, food is consistently great. The appetizers with fresh baked bread are great. Kabob dishes are always delicious. Cooked just right. Definitely will keep on coming here

Tender shish kabobs

By Kathy R |

We ordered a vegetarian platter appetizer and all of the items were very good. I also ordered the lamb shish kabob. The meat was very tender and juicy and nicely seasoned. The plate came with a huge portion of rice which was way more than needed. The service was OK but a little on the slow side for refills of drinks and bringing the check. The restaurant is nice looking on the inside.

what a pleasant surprise!

By nawafe |

I usually avoid eating middle-astern food outside the middle east, because most of the time it just doesn't taste the same. However, and as a lot of my friends recommended this place, we gave it a shot and it was just the best surprise. First of all, the service is excellent, the place is charming, the menu is full of options..you can also select any fish kind you want and have them cook it the way you want. The food was simply amazing, very authentic to the point i had to ask about the chef and i was told he was from Palestine. We ordered so much food we spent the following two days eating the left overs. The appetizers were really nice, especially the cheese rolls and the spicy potatoes. The shawerma plate was really good along with the mix grill plate..The kabab was just phenomenal. Highly recommended!

Dry customer service

By Melan M |

I ordered for pick up on June 25 and the lady that answered the phone had a very dry and rude tone. She answered the phone without thanking the customer for calling, when I asked if I could substitute the rice for hummus she rudely said “no!” Nor did she offer other substitutes for the rice, I had to ask her what options they could offer. When I finished my order she never mentioned in what time it would be ready nor did she ask me under who’s name to put the order under. When I went to pick up the order she was at the cash register and again was just as rude. She never said hello, she had to ask what I ordered since she never asked me for my name, and she never said thank you. She seems as though she’s mad she has to work and doesn’t want to be there. The food here is great however the customer service from this girl is far below standards. I’ve been here many times and had great service from a Moroccan waiter however this girl doesn’t know how to provide customer service.

Late dinner

This place has some really good food fresh fish and the lemonade is even delicious. We got there 15 minutes before the kitchen was closed and our fish arrived freshly grilled.

Fantastic Mediterranean Food

By Ahmed M |

I'm amazed to have such authentic Mediterranean Food overseas. I didn't try other Resturant in Houston but I'm comparing the quality and price I'm getting back in Asia, Singapore in particular. I came twice in three days, I tried the Tabouli and mix grill. The taste is very nice, the staff are friendly. I've ordered foul modammes for tomorrow's breakfast, I'll skip the breakfast offered at the hotel :-)

Good Food service eh!

By Hani and Rob H |

We go hear a lot. The food is consistent and it is good. The service is always a hit and miss. We have the Kebab and man is it good. Love the babaganosh. So that is the good part. Now the service. There are a lot of servers. They tend to hover at the entrance and over by the end of the counter. Now sometimes we get real attentive servers and some are like we had on Friday. We ended up having to bother other servers to get our food and then the check. It will not stop us from going. Just be aware.

Nice aura, nice food

By samsamtx |

We were here based on a friends recommendation and were not disappointed. The food is good, specially mixed grill, keema sandwich in pita (dont remember the name). Its a bit on the expensive side ,but u may like it. Their fruit smoothies are good too

Very good but very bad......

By AbdulAziz A |

We have been there for lunch at 1300local time. We sat in the booth side. The waiter was very bad late to take our order. We ordered humus and mutable salad was very delicious. Shawrma was very bad it does have a very bad smell and tast very strange. At the end we asked for the bill I found he add the tip in the bill without mentioning any thing to us. I recommend to go there but don't order chicken shawarma and look carefully for the bill.

Best Hummus in town

By Ashar G |

I have been here a number of times and the food is good as well as the atmosphere but then it is good at other some other places as well but their hummus stands out in my opinion even though i read a review from someone claiming the same for Kasra grill but having tasted it both places, i like Al-Sayads much better. You can make your own judgements of course.

Yummy in my Tummy

By zzpollyanna |

This place was wonderful , I had really missed this kind of food and it really hit the spot. Everything was great. Their lemon mint drink is so good. Their food was spot on and oh so good. We had a great waiter named Ali. He was very good and gave us great advice. We will be going back here.

Wonderful Halal dinner

By MustafaMc |

My wife and I were visiting Houston from out of state for the Eid and we wanted to eat at a nice, but reasonably priced restaurant that served Halal (Islamically permissible) food as ee live in a rural area that has no Halal restaurants. Sayad's fit the bill perfectly with a generous serving of delicious lamb chops. The waiter and the host were exceptionally friendly and attentive.

Been 3x

By traveljunk1e |

I like the variety on the menu. I'm familiar with many of the dishes. Several appetizers had too much oil. The kabobs are wonderful, especially the salmon and beef. The chicken was ok. Tea service is great.

Excellent food

By Tanya V |

I have fallen in love with your delicious food! Heavenly! I have only been to the Eldridge restaurant, once last week and today. The service is wonderful. Food is great and the atmosphere is delightful. I brought my daughter with me today. She agreed what an unexpected treasure! Outstanding! I have gone to other Mediterranean food restaurants in the past and thought they were good, NO more! Made my day!! Gratefully served!

Wonderful food

By DeeDee_Houston |

This restaurant has WONDERFUL Mediterranean food. We had lamb, falafel, and babaganous. The falafel was not dry and was literally the best I've had in Houston. They make fantastic fruit smoothies as well. I love restaurants that get great flavor from herbs and spices instead of salt and this one does it right. The prices were very reasonable. My husband shared one lamb plate and with the appetizers as our sides and roti bread we were both full for around $25. We will definitely become regulars at Sayad.

Nice place to host

By battouta6 |

The setting is very impressive and the food is fresh and tasty. Lunch special is a great value for a descent meal plus the freshly baked bread.

Mother's day time

By Abdul M |

Great large family platters. Very tasty meat dishes. Also tried the seafood one. The hummus and babaganosh were flavorful. Fresh bread!

Great place to visit

By dentistmommy |

Visited Sayad grill twice once with large group of friends and another time with my family ,both times for lunch . Everything is really good about this restaurant ,food is excellent , portions are large and prices are reasonable . Restaurant is very clean .Service is excellent and waiters are very attentive, when you come in a smaller group , they don't know how to handle large tables , they get a little overwhelmed with too many orders at the same time. Location is a little far , but it depends how far you are prepared to drive for a good meal. In my opinion its the best Arabic food in town . Looking forward to visit this place again !

Great find

By TAMAN1951 |

While not generally a fan of middle eastern fare this place is awesome. Great starters. Falafel was as good as any in the Middle East. Lamb kabob was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Attentive staff. Friendly owner. Fair priced.

A must visit Mediterranean Grill in Houston

By Simon T |

The best family meat platter I have ever seen at a restaurant. They had every kind of delicious meat in it. The hummus and mutabal was very tasty n good.

Made very welcome, but mediocre food.

By GrahamS878 |

We are visiting Houston and were invited to join friends for dinner at Sayad Mediterranean Grill. We were made very welcome and the service was attentive. Our party ordered a wide range of food from the menu. Hummus, falafels, calamari, meat arayes, shrimp kabobs, sea bass, red mullet. We have travelled in the Mediterranean and experienced food from Lebanon, Tunisia, Morocco, but the food we were served was well below our expectations. It saddens me to make negative comments about this restaurant, as the people work very hard to provide a good experience.

Great Lebanese Food

By BevoBurn96 |

Enjoyed the fire grilled fish and flat bread. The rice was flavorful and the salad was fresh. Will have to return and try the lamb kabobs.

Worth to go back million times

Excellent Mediterranean

By Burhan F |

Excellent Mediterranean food and great ambiance. Mixed Grill is best choice as it carries many of the delicious grilled items

Aceptable food clean place

By bryanmantezoni |

Acceptable food a little on the high end price side, good customer service and plenty of parking it's an average restaurant nothing to wow me except for the freshly squeezed mango juice delicious.

Excellent food and service

By Samar Hb |

We were invited by friends to this restaurant, it was wonderful. Since then we have been there several times. The fresh seafood is amazing. Mixed grill is good too. The service is excellent, the owner comes to each table to great the costumers. Will be going there soon.

Very very bad service

By Nabil S |

Not a clean restaurant at all cubs very dirty work are very dirty dishes very dirty cups very dirty food look very bad

Great food

By SteveA |

This was our second trip to this restaurant. The ambience is great, it is very well designed with good music playing. The humus was one best I ever had, the bread is great and the salad were fresh. We order the lamb kabob and sea food mix grill. The main dishes were very good. Wait staff seems busy talking to each other more than paying attention to the tables. I will definitely go back due to food being so good.

Delicious, healthy, good staff

By RatherNotSay |

Wonderful food, nice environment, family oriented, and healthy. Good place to visit. The choices were good on the menu. The bread served prior to meal is homemade. Yummy.

Great food

By SteveA |

We went there for a late Sunday lunch. The food was great. We had the hummus to start with, it is still the best in Houston. The food over all was great, the kabob was cooked just right. I still think this restaurant has the best atmosphere between all the Mediterranean restaurants in town. The fresh baked bread by itself is worth a visit.

Just One Bite

By justteach |

I told my husband I was hungry for hummus and kebabs. We were driving down Westheimer, and Siri led us here. It just took one bite. My husband is still raving about how flavorful and juicy the kofta was. At some places it is under spiced and grilled too long. The presentation of the food is simple, yet lovely. I was introduced to mint lemonade - not too sweet, nicely tangy. Everything was perfection. You have to try this place.

Excellent salads

By TheGlacierist |

I liked the salads and the appetizers of this restaurant far more than the main dish. The qualities were exceptional although the main dish was good but of lesser quality. Their service is very courteous and the ambience was equally nice.

Good lunch with excellent fresh bread

By bigasstraveller |

Went with four colleagues for lunch. All were happy with the food and service. Seems authentic and the naan-like bread was very good.

Excellent Food, Service was spotty this time around...

By Ashar G |

I have been here countless times. I still think the hummus here is the best I have tried in the city...service has been great every time but it fell short on my last visit and I was a little disappointed to say the least. My previous review was 5 stars and since I know that my last experience was a chance happening, I have graded this place 3 stars to be fair.

A taste for something different

By Ma P |

The thing I can appreciate the most about Houston is the diversity. The restaurant scene is no different. My wife and I ate dinner at Sayad and found the food to good and with flavors that will have your taste buds asking for more.

Good lunch menu

By Rodrigo P |

I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of their lunch menu. It had a little something for everyone with very authentic dishes and reasonably priced. When our business lunch was over the 6 of us at the table mentioned we would soon return with our families.

Authentic Middle East

By xpatsuitcase |

The menu has great offerings and th prices are reasonable. We were a party of 5 and has babaghanoush, hummus, lebnah, shish tawook, and fatosh. All were well made. The atmosphere is nice, not fancy, and a bit wide open and brightly lit for me. A nice casual place and will satisfy your cravings for middle eastern food. We were warmly welcomed and had a charming waiter. Total price with tip was about $65. No alcohol.
