Great atmosphere and food. The margarita pizza was very good as a starter. The spaghetti carbonara (with bacon) and the orecchiette were excellent. Service was very professional and prices were moderate for mid-manhattan standards. Recommended .

Orland our server was amazing perfect for us friendly well spoken English, what we needed not being from here. He was definently a people's person and good service.

Serafina Always was wonderful! The staff was really sweet, helpful and attentive. You can tell this is a local favorite. We were very pleased with our selections and it doesn't seem like you can make a bad choice here. I was thrilled to see that there are lots of gluten free options. They have a great wine list. I will certainly be back next time I'm in the city. Everything was delish!

we were looking for a relax place to eat pizza on Sunday and this was a great spot. Unpretentious but good service and very good pizza. Thin and crisp!

If in a hurry for very good Italian this is the place. Two of us in and out in one hour. No atmosphere and very noisy. Reasonably priced. This may be a new location for this NY small chain.

Stopped by for a family dinner the other night. It was not very busy, but the waitstaff seemed far more concerned with what was going on at the front hostess station and the bar, than the four or five tables that had customers. Lasagne and chicken dishes were lackluster, but the pizza was good. Again, slow service, so we cannot recommend.

Let's not write a long review. Just go there and enjoy the best truffle nero pizza and the most amazing farfale al limoncello ever. It's central so you can go there for both lunch and dinner. You will regret it if you miss this!

I like the Serofina restaurants. They equally appropriate for a leisurely lady’s luncheon and a family pizza night. Serofina Always had very comfortable outdoor dining, even in the winter. Their partially enclosed dining space is well heated.

Very good Mid-Town edition of this Italian mini chain. Very pleasant, airy space with a sit-down bar and second story dining area. Above par pasta and pizza with excellent marinara sauce. Very attentive, accommodating service

I met a friend there for lunch and looked forward to their pesto dish. It was good but nothing special (I love pesto!). On the other hand, their chocolate mousse dessert was exceptionally good, thereby elevating my overall rating (otherwise I would have rated the experience as just average).

After a full day of travel on a Saturday, we asked for a recommendation to a restaurant near the hotel a short walk away with good food. While they were busy they did have a table for two. We started with the calamari which was delicious and followed with gnocchi and fresh a lovely pasta with mushrooms and truffle oil.

We attended Serafina with our family for a Sunday brunch. Excellent service and attention and equally good brunch items. A must on the Upper West Side

Went for dinner tonight and had a lovely meal. Portions are large but we managed to finish most of our food! Nice feel to restaurant, modern but not unapproachable.

Some dishes were great some not so tasty but a nice place to eat and fabulous location next to our hotel. Staff a bit Uppity. Had to ask several times for tap water.

We visited on a last minutes notice and this did not disappoint. There was incredible variety of choices and everything we ate was truly delicious!

My friends and I work nearby and treated ourselves to lunch here before the holiday. We ordered the truffle fries and calari as appetizers, I had the eggplant parm, one friend ordered the orecchiette and my other friend had the spaghetti and meatballs. The dishes were a modest portion and though the food was good, it might have been due to how salty the dishes are. I ordered the tiramisu to go and it was light and not that sweet, which was a nice surprise. The prices are what you expect for an Italian restaurant in Manhattan. The restaurant is small and cozy and quiet when we arrived since it was only noon. When we left an hour later, it was crowded and noisy.

We went to this restaurant twice during our last visit. It was a very quick WALK from our hotel on 5th Ave, which was nice because the traffic in NY is crazy these days. It's upscale, but not stuffy. Nice staff. Hip place. Cool music. The food was really good. I suggest going there to avoid hotel food.

Location is the only thing that keeps this place alive. I used to love the restaurant that was in the space before, I live a block away so convenience is the only reason I ever go there for a drink. The space is really nice, food is ok for what they charge for. But service is beyond awful. The place has new servers everytime I go, the owner is a whacky rude guy who’s there all the time for some reason but should not be in a hospitality business ever. I just hope one day the places changes owners who can take this great space and make it into a great restaurant it should be

My husband and I were disappointed with the food and service. We ordered the calamari that was good, but the pizza was just average. The tiramisu was not good. The service was okay. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the vibe was good, but I would not eat there again.

Four adults and 3 kids came to this wonderful restaurant after a long afternoon at the museum and Central Park. We were seated right away at the third floor; I believed the third floor is for a large group especially for families with children. The floor was noisy due to the kids but was manageable. We had oven baked sausage and mushroom thin pizza, ham (no pepperoni here!) and cheese and linguine in white sauce with clam and mussels. We devoured the food; they were that good. Waiters were attentive to our needs; our food was served in less than 15 minutes. We left full and satisfied. Note: There is a 20 % service charge for a group more than 6.

We had a 7:30 pm reservation for a Friday night. Well after the theater crowd. We picked this restaurant because it was dog friendly and a short walk from our hotel. We had asked for outside seating to accommodate our dog. We arrived and the hostess had great difficulty finding our reservation and my wife had to spell our last name four times. She could not get it straight. She then sat us practically in the driveway of a public parking garage. Cars were coming in and out. In short the table location from hell. There were plenty of other outside tables that were available. I asked the hostess to move us and she refused. I hate a bad table location. I went in to explain that my wife and I were celebrating our anniversary weekend and after the exchange of a $20.00 bill she moved us to another table that wasn’t available earlier. As to the food, meh! I had the veal Osso Bucco. The meat was very good but the risotto was starchy and tasteless. My wife ordered a “special” seafood over black squid ink pasta. She got cold seafood over regular linguine. Since we had a terrible experience with the front end we just soldiered on an ate. We wanted to enjoy each other’s company. The wine was excellent and our server very nice and competent. Maybe it was a bad night. It certainly was for us.

I used to love Serafina since they opened the very first location in Manhattan years ago. This location is below par - not even close to the location that used to be a couple of doors down the street. The food is still good, but the ambiance is more airport than nice and sexy Italian. Disappointing.

Italian classics that are delicious. Sit in the window upstairs if possible. We enjoyed lasagna and lobster ravioli. Yum

This is our go-to spot in NY. The food is excellent and the staff is always in a good mood, friendly and helpful.

The food was great as usual. I always have pasta no matter what my cardiologist says. It's the one time

Recently had a terrific dinner at Serafina Always. The food was excellent. Both of us had a seafood entree that was simply magnificent. Cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth delicious. Asked the waiter to pair a wine for us and he selected a delicious Italian Charddonay that went perfectly. It is not really a quiet or romantic place as I thought the vide was a little more boisterous. But the food was very, very good.

I walked in the door tired and hungry from a long day and our hotel was closed for food. they recommended this place around the corner so we went and the greeting was terrible. The hostess was not interested in us at all and was playing around and then when I walked to the bar to sit to order to go the bartender actually looked at us and said low but I could read his lips and heard him "F&^%" I was shocked because I had never had that experience before. He knew I saw him and I even said something and he said he was just tired but said it rudely. I told him I wanted to place an order to go and he basically continued being rude, didn't offer an explanation to any of the items and I picked something because we had to go or else i would have left with nothing. He didn't offer us anything to drink while we waited at the bar and the when I said " you could at least offer us something to drink?" he said well all you had to do was ask! We got our food and the salad was a nice size with large pieces of chicken but mine was just plain and small pieces of ravilli with nothing else. When I asked him about it he said, well there is sauce in there too! That was enough. I signed the check and for the first time in my life I left no TIP!!! Get rid of Mr. Tall, Dark and I know I'm handsome.

I first visited Serafina Always about 15 years ago and make a point of returning every time we're in Manhattan. It has a great atmosphere and delicious food with great service too - everything you could want. It's a little pricey but no more than you would expect in this neighbourhood and it caters very much to the local clientele but makes visitors like us feel really welcome every time. I love it and will always return.

The food came incredibly fast, bread and salad before our drinks arrived. The server glared at us every time he went by! We did not complain about anything, he brought the bill and cash machine, ripped it from my husband's hand and walked away. There was not a single how is everyone, would you like anything else or THANK YOU! Never returning.

Not bad for a chain restaurant - would give 3.5 stars. The ambience upstairs is far nicer and the layout makes the restaurant feel more spacious. The apps were ok - the buffalo mozzarella was good, however the tomatoes were lackluster and would have liked more basil. The calamari was just ok & the sauce made the dish. The eggplant "noodle" seafood lasagna was good, however, the two of us who ate it were nauseous the next day. The tagliolini al tartufo was pretty good. I think the winner of the evening was the chocolate mousse dessert. Very rich. Service was excellent - just felt like each dish was missing something.

Delicious italian food. The menu had enough options like salads, pasta, pizza, meat. I had pasta and polo. The sauce was delicious and the pasta perfect. My friend had I nice salad. We chose a very tasteful Chianti. The employees were eficient and helpfull.

good service, worn out decor, mediocre food. Arugala e Filetto Insalate not good -- grizzled, fatty meat, but kitchen assured that it was "100 percent filet mignon." Maybe good for people who need to eat quickly and get back to the office.

I stay at the LRH so tends to grab diner here while I stay. This place is casual but food is tasty. I've tried most of the menu and so far every dish i've ordered was good. It's a little gem for me.

We booked dinner reservations for 7 PM on a Friday evening. We were seated quickly in the upstairs section where there were several empty tables. The empty tables were filled up by the time we left. We each ordered pasta dishes and were pleased with the choices as the sauces were light and the pasta was properly cooked. The cocktail and wine selections were promptly delivered. The service was fast and efficient. We did not try the desserts. Ultimately, another good choice for Italian in the area. We will be visiting again.

If you are not a local, you will not be very welcome at Serafina¡ Service is sassy and pedantic¡ Food was good but the atmosphere was rather on the unpleasant side…I would tend to skip it, unless you are really hungry...

Nice and clean . Right near Central Park, midtown/upper east side. Sat at the bar and had coffees . Coffee is $3. Cappuccino $4.25. WiFi available , screens for sports . Italian food. Not disabled friendly. Street parking . Pizzas start from $15. Private rooms for events and lunches. Free delivery . No views or anything , no live music , but a nice Italian spot for lunch. Didn’t have food so can’t speak to food.

Bruscheta: burnt and cold bread and not rubbed with garlic. The tomatos were almost frozen, savorless and with too much water. Burrata: taste of cream. Rizoto: overcooked, like babie food and also savorless Gnocchi: so-so Small tables. Atendents a little bit rude. Its a kind of place for people that don't know how to cook and cannot Good food. Any ordinary tavern in Rome, Venice or Florence is much better.

my wife and i enjoy having after dinner drinks/wine when we visit NYC a couple of times a year. the bartenders, waiters, managers of this restaurant make you feel at home like you are a someplace in your neighborhood. we had a late dinner there for the first time after a hockey game. the menu touches all the bases you would expect for an italian restaurant. i had a great pasta with bolognese sauce. the pasta was cooked perfectly (el dante) and tasted home made. my wife had a great nicely blistered pizza with great toppings from their either wood burning or gas flamed pizza oven. they have a very nice well chosen wine list that actually by NYC standards offers good value for some nice bottlings. Service was excellent. Overall, really nice cozy atmosphere like a Buca in Florence, Italy with food that is well prepared and good value served by nice people.

This was our second dinner visit to Serafina in the last five years and we were not disappointed. They provide good food with a reasonable price. Known for takeout as well. We would definitely return here on a future trip to NYC. It is not big but also not crowded. The staff was attentive and we left with all of our expectations fulfilled.

We attended a hosted celebratory gathering for 20 people. The ambiance was perfect for the theme of the evening dinner. The food and service were tops.

We were looking for pasta for the day before a marathon and came across this address by chance. A delight ! The pasta is exquisite (try the truffle ravioli!!) and the staff takes great care! A very good address.

We ate here for lunch with our 2 kids after a morning of sight seeing/shopping. The service was attentive and they had a nice variety of pizzas to choose from (they have lots of other stuff as well...we were just in the mood for pizza). The pizzas are bigger than we expected. We should have ordered 3 pizzas for our group of 4. This is an easy walk to/from central park and seemed to be frequented by many locals. The cozy ambiance and delicious brick oven pizzas definitely make this a place I would highly recommend.

Our family of seven had lunch here while we were in NYC. Their pizza was terrific and reasonable, and the service was great!

After a long day we stumbled across Serafina and found a gem. Great food, friendly and caring service, good wine list, it will be our first spot for Dinner when we're back in NYC.

If you are looking for a nice Italian restaurant that is suitable for a family with young children I would definitely go here. Food is, for NY standards decently priced, and the quality is fine. Staff is friendly.

We ate at Serafina Always tonight, before seeing an excellent movie at the French Institute. We were warmly greeted, given the choice of two excellent tables, and served with real courtesy, changing the sauce to milder version and bringing additional dressing for my companion's salad. The restaurant is decorated and a very imaginative fashion, and has an elevator to the second floor, location of two additional serving areas and the very clean restrooms. The calamari was absolutely delicious, with very fresh seafood and a delicious crust with great mouth feel. My vegetarian special was a melange of very fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. My companion's salad was very fresh and with the extra dressing beautifully prepared. Our coffee and cappuccino were both prepared very well, both with very rich aromas and no bitter tastes.

My wife and I needed a place to go for a quick bite to eat and we ran into Serafina. We sat at the bar and a salad and calamari, both were fantastic. An extra bonus was they had one of my favorite beers on tap and the bartender provided me a free refill before her shift was over.

Food not spectacular but good. I thought a bit pricey but maybe that is just NYC. Service wAs excellent however. Would come again.

They need a new chef, one that understands Italian cuisine Asked no salt, appetizer to salty, asked the penne arabiata with bolognese but they forgot the bolognese it was uneatable, to I asked just bolognese which was so heavily salted, enough to give someone a heart attack My wife’s dish a bass filet was some weird tasteless concoction. The only thing good was the pulpe (octopus) apprizer but still quite salty. Sad but true no Italian waiters The huge tv screen with playing football didn’t help make this a romantic experience (is this a sports bar or restaurant?) We’ll never come back to this restaurant again. Walk a few more steps and go to La Goulue it may not be Italian but they have a great chef

Quick lunch as we were checking out of Regency. One spinach ravioli, one clam linguini. Service good for quick lunch. Peroni beer. Seemed very popular with families. Know it is a favourite its regular New York friends.

I adore Serafina, especially this one on 61st street. I have tried almost everything on the menu, but what I loved the most are: Minestrone, Gnocchi di mamma, Tris Sofia, Calamari, Pizza and lately Serafina Burgers!!!

Decent food at average prices. Pasta dish was certainly ample. Apple tart dessert blah. Nothing special.

After a long day shopping a great little restaurant close to Barneys off Madison. Burrata to die for so that was worth the visit alone. Pizzas to be honest just ok. Great buzz particularly if you get seated downstairs. Recommended.

The people watching may be better! A mixture with some Eurotrash adds spice. Try pasta with truffles when in season.

One of the best Italian restaurants in new York City that i enjoy. Lovely atmosphere good food friendly staff. Although with construction going around it it's hard to find.

Went pre theatre for casual easy dinner. Nothing basically was right food service & attitude. Food came out after waiting 40 minutes room temperature. I like my fries hot & crispy. Burger was at best mediocre cheese plopped on top then cold carmalized onions. Will not be returning to this Serafina anytime soon.

We were a group of eight for this very tiny restaurant but we loved the intimacy of it all. The staff was very polite and accommodating without being overly so. We all had different meals, pizza, gnocchi, bolognese, fish, etc. and there were no complaints. A few of us had the soup of the day, butternut squash, and loved it. We had been to a meeting just a few blocks away and I wanted to go someplace within walking distance of our meetings. This restaurant will always be on my list of "go to" places in NYC.

Sat in a great comfortable corner and had a friendly outgoing server. Had delicious bread and drank wine while waiting for our lunch. The three of us each ordered pizza and were so surprised how large they were! My pizza was delicious with chunks of tomatoes, cured olives, cheese and a thin crust. Looking forward to going back!

This is my go-to for great quality, authentic Italian food in NYC. Excellent for a romantic dinner, entertaining clients, dinner with friends.

Went to Serafina with 7 work colleagues. It is a nice enough place with a pleasant atmosphere, but nothing unique or special. We had the big round table by the pizza oven, but there were cleaning supplies and other messy stuff on the floor around the area that was not appropriate for a nice dining setting. The menu was very extensive with very mainstream Italian choices. We sampled many different appetizers which we shared. Nothing stood out. Nothing was bad, just nothing memorable. The same was true for our entrees. One of our diners really enjoyed the lasagna. Again, nothing was bad, but nothing stood out. The orchhiette with brocli rabe and sausage was quite uninspiring. But what was great... I paid the bill, and did not see that a 20% tip had been added. The waiter should have mentioned this. I added a 20% tip unknowingly on top of that. As we were walking down the sidewalk, the waiter chased me down and asked if I had seen the Grat that was already added. I said no, and suggested I take off the extra tip. You don't see that everyday and he is to be commended.

Found street parking, found good food, found good service and the price was fair. What more can you ask for? Extremely accommodating as well!

The homemade pasta is amazing! Love that they offer wheat and gluten free options as well. The waiter was attentive. My family only drank water so we kept the busboy very busy!

We frequented this place but of late, we have avoided it. It has made me think twice from patronizing Serafina after seeing rats run out of the building next door to it. Serafina has delicious pizzas, great goat salad and the best lobster pasta.

Went to the Serafina on E 61st for dinner before seeing a show in that neighborhood. The food is reliably good and our waiter was very attentive.

Always a warm and friendly environment and the food is fantastic. Very kid friendly restaurant and they are great with kids. Great place for a pizza or pasta and watching some soccer.

Found service inattentive, too informal and somewhat lazy. The restaurant needs to be updated, the downstairs restaurant looks worn, grey and dirty. The pizza was ok, but it could be much improved. Not coming back, what a disappointment. I think this small chain of restaurants have passed their expiration date.

We visited this restaurant 5 times during our 8 day trip to New York, it was very handy as just round the corner to the hotel we were staying at. We tried quite a few things from the menu, the pasta, gnocchi, pizza were all delicious- my favourite was the salmon. The desserts were lovely. Service was very good and by New York standards the prices were very reasonable.

Good ambiance and busy little spot. Good salads and service was friendly. Nice Pizza over down the back. The Parma ham and mozzarella is amazing.

Lovely atmosphere for lunch, with 2 floors. Good service and delicious Italian Pasta and Pizza. Thoroughly enjoyed the Pasta and Shrimp in Limoncello Sauce.

I love this place. The food is good. The service is great. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I went with my husband and three boys, and there is something for everyone there. I highly recommend.

Food was delicious. Drinks pricey for casual pizza/pasta and a few drinks/beers. $250. for 6 ends up being pricey even for NY. If all had real entrees, easily $350.00. Doing the bare minimum on a Monday night. Fine balance between being non obtrusive and inattentive. Everybody just mailing it in (including Maitre D.) seems to be the standard here. Waiter chooses not to write anything down - always all risk, no reward. Not impressive, especially when he misses my wife's order completely and we have finished our entrees when her's comes out. Not really very apologetic and did not offer comp or even dessert - Odd. Dining with a local so we did not make an issue. Overall, just ok. Not really distinguishing themselves - maybe they just don't need to.

We found the service to be excellent here, food good, but not great. The price seemed high, but then compared to the neighborhood options, I think it was about right. The restaurant was super busy, with a lot of take out. But, despite being busy, our server was attentive, our food arrived in a very reasonable time, and it was good.

The first night our waiter was fantastic and service was great. We immediately got drinks, bread and olive oil. The food came out perfectly times. The Caesar was good. The meatballs were to die for. I rate an Italian restaurant based on their meatballs. They are truly homemade served with sauce and a slice of good bread. Our second night we sat outside and our waiter could care less. We never got bread until halfway thru our entree. No bread served with our salad. No olive oil was ever offered. The shrimp salad with arugula and avocado was really good. When our entrees came out the waiter just put our food on a different table and waited on another table. We saw this and waited. finally said something that our meal was just sitting at another table. Our food of course was cold. When our entrees finally arrived we did not get any silverware so we had to take it from another table. Don’t sit outside as that crew is surly and uncaring. The inside sitting is tight and a bit noisy but we enjoyed the meal. The reception person was really sweet and remembered even our name when we came back. I would have given this a 5 star if we had not experienced the bad service the second night,

Serafina is a reliable italian restaurant to have a casual meal. Wooden Oven Pizza is very good, pastas nice and simple, the salads varied. it is a place to go with the whole family and with friends.

Good food, slightly cramped atmosphere. Good value and tasty food. They were all very friendly staff.

Lured in by reviews, we thought that we should try the place but unfortunately it was a terrible experience. Whilst the food was decent (not generous portions, but a good bite to eat), the wait staff ignore your existence and when they finally are ready to come over, they give you attitude? Not friendly whatsoever.

Great place to eat if you aren't in the mood for the fancy smancy long meal. Very consistent and yummy.

My daughter and I came here at 10 pm after a long flight. It's always great to find a restaurant that is still open and buzzing at 10 pm. Everything in San Diego where we live is pretty much closed by 9 pm. We were seated right away. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. It has a lovely atmosphere. I can't fault our dining experience here.

We were staying at the Loews Regency round the corner and couldn't justify their restaurant prices for my three children so we came here - both nights. Food was good - pizza, steak, salmon were all eaten - and overall the quality was good - some excellent. Service was friendly and efficient - though I get slightly annoyed when empty plates are cleared when some of the group are still eating. Would be happy to return again if I was staying locally - but probably not worth getting on the subway for.

Great location convenient to arts, shopping , museums Nice menu with pasta, fish, meat Attentive staff Very high quality food for reasonable price

We ordered to our hotel room and the food was delivered cold. Pizza had olives on it and was tasteless. Pasta and Caesar salad was just adequate. Totally overpriced. Do not suggest having it delivered.

The food wasn’t terrible. It was just shockingly forgettable, embarrassingly small portions, and ridiculously priced. We eat at a lot of restaurants that offer pizza and spaghetti for the kids, and we prefer nice restaurants that the adults can enjoy as well. The portions were very small. The salad we ordered was half a tomato with some cheese. I don’t mind paying a lot for small portions when the food is worth it, either very good or innovative, but this food was very meh. We left hungry and ate boring food. The most outrageous portion was a veggie dish that cost something like $27 and was basically a small portion of some roasted veggies on a plate. Like, 4 small pieces of broccoli, once carrot, and 6 brussel sprouts. That’s ridiculous and almost offensive. Service was not great, and we had to ask to get some more water a few times.

The 3 of us secured a reservation using the open table app through Trip Advisor. We got the best table in the house (second floor along the glass overlook to the street below). We ordered the bass fish dish and the trio pasta dishes. Completely satisfied and received the dishes in record time. The product was excellent and the service was good as well. Based on this, we proceeded to order the Nutella pizza dessert. Fun, good, and easy to pick at over limoncello. Casual, but a few sport coats could be seen. Several families as well as a few business meetings. Several regulars as well based on the ongoing conversations with the staff. Btw- this did not break the bank. A bottle of wine, dinners, desserts for $50 / head.

We stopped off here fo a spot of lunch ad left wishing we had found somewhere else to eat. Starting off with a 'minestrone soup' that was nothing like a minestrone soup, it was a bland, slightly watery, vegetable soup at best! I then opted for a beef salad, the beef was ok, however, the tomato and rocket salad that accompanied it was pretty bad. Not impressed..

Was here for dinner with daughter and friends. Sat immediately which was nice. The server seemed as if he was rushed but I didn't see him at other tables in the area. We asked server for more water, it never came ended up using water bottle we had in bag. Bread came to table about 1 minute before meals. Food was good. Server was MIA most of meal. He disappeared once again after we declined dessert. I had to ask hostess who was hanging out with pizza chef for check. When check finally arrived there was a built in 20% tip, so I guess he felt he didn't need to show up to our table as his tip was a gimme. Food was good but not good enough to make up for poor service, I won't be back.

We went for an early dinner here on a Friday night. It looks like a popular place. Service was very efficient but not a lot of smiling. Not a big deal, though. The food was very good. My wife's carbonara was tasty and not overdone with sauce. My simple ravioli dish with butter and sage sauce was also very tasty. Profiteroles rounded out my meal. Tasty food, efficient service. Not the cheapest of restaurants.

Serafina Always located between Madison and Park Avenue offers very good Pizza and Italian food. We tried V.I.P. Margherita pizza,Penne Alla Stolichnaya,Gnocchi Di Mamma and La Panna Cotta and Creme Brûlée for desert. The quality of food was very good, the staff was very helpful and friendly and service efficient. It is a busy place for lunch but service was quite quick.

Serafina is a chain of Italian restaurants. This restaurant has a long narrow dining room. The tables were very close to each other. The bar was pretty busy for a Thursday evening 6:30 or so. We used open table for a reservation. Got right in after they cleared a table. We were greeted promptly The menu has your typical Italian dishes. The portions were good size. The prices very reasonable. The food came out super quick. Less than 10 minutes, but we did not have any protein (pasta). It appeared to be quite a few locals because they knew the servers, or it was families meeting after work.

Was looking for something close for a nice lunch and choose this restaurant at random. The place is small and has a nice energy, but that’s where it ends. The food was very disappointing; mainly in lacking in flavor. I had the gnocchi bolognese with the gnocchi bring home made but the sauce just had to flavor. My wife had the spaghetti aglio e olio and first off was undercooked. Not al-dente, just undercooked. Again, lacking flavor. Service was slow but pleasant.

Well presented pasta's dishes with delicious taste and nice dulci/dessert. Friendly Staff and Chef came to our table to check our order and to inform the improvement made at Serafina's in São Paulo. See photos of spaghetti and berries. Confortable table in good localization. We had lunch. Worth to check it.

We went for dinner and food was good but service was bad. My son spilt his drink by accident and after going to find the waiter to help clean up he only seemed annoyed. No offer to bring him another drink. Also we had to ask for bread and w 3 kids you would think that would be the first thing they bring. Then the server charges a 7 year old and a 10 year old $16 for pasta that on the kids menu says $12. When I ask about it the waiter says you ask for full penne not half. Both kids left half a plate of pasta. We have been to this place before and with recent reviews I should have not gone back. Reviews are valid.

We got together for lunch post Thanksgiving. We were seated at the second floor, a reserved space, more quiet. The kids had a ball drawing on the paper tablemat and eating pizza, Plain Cheese and Pepperoni, and drinking juice. Adults we drank Chianti, Beer(Stella Artois),Prosecco. We Started with Calamari & Pepperoni Pizza. Delicious! I ordered the Farfalle al Limoncello, delicious lemony cream sauce packed with Shrimp. Others ordered Carpaccio, Different Ravioli,Rigatoni ala Bolognese(the sauce was not liked), Chicken Cutlet(was tasteless,no seasoning at all) All in all a very nice lunch with family and friends.

With the amount of traffic this place gets they should invest in sound-muffling. It's like a sports bar at happy hour, minus televisions. We were seated upstairs which had round tables where everyone had to shout across them to be heard. The hostess said all Serafinas are loud. It is a chain of Italian restaurants which Italians probably would not frequent because of ambiance. The kitchen is on the ground floor and wait staff has to run up and down a long flight of stairs with food which is not uncommon in Italy. I hoped this location would have a better 4 stagioni pizza than one I had tried at another Serafina, but alas it did not. The toppings were skimpy and thrown on, the crust tasted mealy, though the sauce and rest were tasty. The other order, a filet mignon burger, was pricey and also disappointing. Though it sounds so impressive, this cut of meat isn't ideal for a burger. It needed and came with a lot of toppings to mask that defect, including avocado, cheeses, onions, lettuce and tomato. The salads at other tables looked very good, as did the pastas. But I'm not sure I'd be tempted to try again.

I would give this place a 1 and I'm being generous. Kids' meal was $12 for a small portion of tennis racket pasta with butter. Kids thought it was too salty. I had the pasta with prosciutto. Couldn't finish it because it was too salty as well. So disappointed.

I rather go to AVRA on 60th and Madison for a prix- fixe lunch for $29.50 ( great food, great ambience and top quality service ) than spend $70 with tax and tip at Serafina for a Porcini Pizza Pie, Beet Salad and 3 small cokes ($ 4:50 each ) Visit AVRA. You will love it. Cheers Suresh Chawla Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦

I have lost all credibility as a foodie. I recommended this restaurant as it was near the theater we were going to. Bad service - had to ask 3 times for water - not great food. Big disappointment

Yes a whopping 5 star review! Why... cozy, classic NYC Italian food. Great scene and hands down the best bolognese in town. Pricing is not cheap but not pricey. And the pizza well let me tell you about the Foccia ala Sophia. It’s beyond words! Coming back again and again and again and yes order the tiramisu. Yum

Serafina offers a great place to nosh or have a cocktail after a busy day of shopping on Madison Avenue. The salads are quite ample, and the pizza is tasty. Both go down quite good with a nice Chardonnay or Cabernet

Perfect relationship between money, service and food. Service was perfect, polite and efficient. I had a delicious pacific salmon with light and soft vegetables, my parents an amazing pasta (spaghetti and gnocchi) and my lil bro had a hamburger which we asked red and it was kind of well-done... (the only thing that went wrong). The espresso coffee its very good too, just like Italian one. We enjoy it very much!

The truffle dishes blew me away. If you like truffles and pasta don’t miss it. The prices are consistent with the neighborhood but worth it.

OUTDOORS AT ENTRANCE TO GARAGE is just terrible as you breathe the fumes. NEVER AGAIN. Dale & I shared an excellent Caesar Salad and I had a very good hamburger while she had a very good paglia fieno. That said, dinner is about more than the food and I caution you as to where you will be put to eat outdoors...........by the way, I'd have gone somewhere else but it was too late.

We have discovered this restaurant, when it was raining hard. Surprisingly for us it has the 2nd floor with a street view. Wine was great, pizza as well. The place was super busy. Service was amazing. We felt very cozy and had a great time. Thank you.

This used to be THE place to eat. I am sad to see they have lost their magic. The service is average, the food is average, the place is empty. To loose all these loyal customers! What a shame.

Arrived on time having booked table with Open Table. They didn't seem to have our reservation but found us a table in the corner upstairs. We ordered drinks and food...all very nice. We were asked twice if we'd like more drinks.....yes we would.....twice they still did not come. Plates were cleared before others had finished at the table. We were told to leave a minimum 18% tip & as we felt we had no good service we left 10%. This was returned to us as an insult. We will not return and would not recommend.

We arrived without a reservation but were given a lovely, well appointed, table by the smiling and friendly manager. The place was pretty full but the service was efficient, charming and professional and the food delicious, well cooked and served in generous portions. The spinach and ricotta ravioli in a sage butter was exceptional and wine by the glass was well priced and generously poured. Will definitely go back.

We love true Italian food, and one evening we went to Seafina Always for a small meal.We strictly went by recommendation of an acquantance.Even though it was getting later, the staff were most obliging. They asked us about our choices and wanted to be sure that we still would get a warm meal and told us about the kitchen winding down. W were not concerned, since we just wanted a nice salad. All their choices looked appealing, and we got the Salad Pietro with greens, avocado, tomatoes, shrimp and cannellini beans. It did arrived within the shortest time, and it was excellent- perfect to hit the spot! This restaurant has everything: the ambience is very warm, the staff is competent and friendly, and whoever mans the kitchen team knows what they are doing: excellent Italian food! The prices are in keeping with other establishments in this area of Manhattan. Nothing is truly inexpensive, but this place remains reasonable. Can be recommended to anybody: families, singles or doubles who want a romantic dinner.

In a city with thousands of italian restaurants, Serafina stands out with delicious pasta and pizzas, excelent service (Brigitte, the bartender is very nice and prepares great drinks) and a very nice atmosphere. I just keep coming back there whenever I have the chance.

Stopped in for a casual meal after arriving and checking in at the Loews Regency on Park, and after shopping and tattoos (yes, tattoos...for my kids, not for me...and to be totally honest, I actually did more sitting than actual shopping...but I digress). Serafina Always is a comfortable little boutique restaurant with a long bar where you can also eat and enjoy a bottle of wine or a cocktail, as many people were doing when we arrived. The restaurant is conveniently located just a short walk down 61st Street around the corner from our hotel between Park and Madison. Fortunately, it's mid-August, and we were able to secure a reservation for 5 on a Friday Night a few hours before we arrived. The Service was excellent--attentive but not overbearing. The kids gobbled up the fresh bread when it arrived so it must have been fresh and tasty (and apparently tattoos must make you hungry). I ordered my normal Italian fare, angel hair pasta with meat sauce but the waiter came back about five minutes later and apologized for not having any angel hair so I ordered plain spaghetti in lieu of angel hair. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, the food was fresh and delicious and I enjoyed the tasty meat sauce--just the right flavor and thickness to cling yet not be overwhelmed by the pasta (normally my line in the sand for anyone claiming to serve authentic Italian food...it's all about the sauces and the pasta for me). The manager even threw in two desserts for the minor inconvenience caused by not having the pasta I wanted, totally unnecessary but thoroughly enjoyed by all...the desserts were excellent. In sum, Great Service, Great Food...I'd absolutely give it five stars if they had angel hair pasta, but for now let's just say, it's at least a 4.5 and we'll definitely be back.

Just walking in the canyons of New York City with a hunger for good food and my wife & son spy this little picture window with stairs going downstairs to a very quaint & delightful authentic italian restaurant or better description is a trattoria; smaill narrow place, great ambience, hip & friendly bartenders and wait staff. Fresh Pasta! Have a meal like you were in Italy: all 10 parts of it which we did and took a while to eat, more than 2 hours enjoying the meal like a celebration of life; and I know we were in the right place as an older couple next to us (looked like regulars, & the chef came out to greet them & they spoke only Italian {Calabrian accent?}); had a long day sight seeing and wanted to wind down the evening and just crash for the night so we said we'll do it all at this restaurant; long dinner that we shared all the dishes amongst ourselves & dropped some coin but worth it Aperitivo (appetizer) you have to start the meal and the old standyby Calamari was fresh, tasty and battered oh so lightly. Antipasto (2nd heavier app)- we shared a home made bowl of Minestrone, great flavor Primo (1st course) Rigatoni Bolognese (unbelievably tasty homemade meatsauce a must have which we all shared Secondo (2nd course) grilled salmon and a special of the day linguini colored pasta with 4 different cheeses (off course you have to order a good bottle(s) of table wine to be drunk thoughout the meal. Contorno (side dishes) roasted potatoes & vegetable medley drizzled with olive oil, yum! Formaggi e frutta - (cleansing palate meal) have the waiter recommend cheese & fruit dish; we were pleasantly surprised; felt like Christmas with all these little dishes coming at us all the time Dolce- (dessert) we had fresh Gelato after we left the restaurant; we noticed before we went in that there was a street cart serving fresh Gelato just to the right of the entrance; don't know if they were connected with Serafina but that's how we finished the night Caffè - a must have to help digest things; the espresso is wonderful! Digestivo (after dinner drink to let your tummy know the meal is coming to an end & also help digestion) we stayed strictly Italian- Limoncello & Grappa Our waiter was wonderful and helped guide us and explained all the parts of a proper Italian meal. The food was delicious and a great moment in time for me & my family spending time breaking bread together. will cherish the memory; thank you Searfina buon appetito!

Thanks to the manager, Alessandro Refani, the Serafina Always on Madison Ave and 61st is amazingly warm and hospitable. However crowded be the place, there's always room for you. The food is good and the selection of wines excellent.

I had heard good things about this restaurant from people who work in the neighborhood and go there for lunch. My wife likes going there to get a quick bite to eat with her friends. I went at 10:00 at night to get a late night dinner after an event. I actually went with my wife. She ordered one of her favorites for both of us, the arugula and filetto salad. We also asked for some focaccia. Things went sour pretty fast. The focaccia came out. It tasted like cardboard and looked suspiciously like the frozen kind you find in the supermarkets. Then they brought out the steak salads. My wife was embarrassed and angry. The dish she had recommended for me had been so poorly prepared, she could barely recognize it. The arugula and tomatoes were slopped onto the plate and the filet was overdone and poorly arranged, not to mention that one of our plates had very little meat, half the amount of meat as the other one. Naturally, we complained. The waiter was good and immediately had the salads redone. Later the manager came and apologized. They gave us a free Tiramisu (not very good either unfortunately) and even took one salad off our bill. I suppose I could have been happy because of all the free stuff that I got, but I wasn’t. I was simply frustrated. I went in with high expectations of having a good meal with my wife. Instead, we had a disappointing dinner and wasted our time because of the establishment’s lack of attention and carelessness. Things may be better during the day, but management needs to improve the quality of the late shift.

This is a great restaurant that is a bit off the main roads...we had googled "good pizza near us" and were brought to this place. We wanted a quick lunch as were on a sight seeing visit and had limited time. Kids wanted pizza. Its quite a bit bigger on the inside than on the out...a TARDIS!!! A bit tight upstairs, but not unbearable. The menu is not complicated, and we quickly ordered a couple of pizzas. The margarita for my kids and the mushroom for us. Both arrived very quickly and our waiter was very attentive despite the place being quite busy for lunch. The pizzas were divine!!! Hot, thin crust with just the right amount of toppings/sauce. My wife remarked that the mushroom pizza tasted like cream of mushroom soup in food form!!! She was right!!! It was awesome, as was the margarita. We had also ordered a small salad and some bread, all of which was excellent. The atmosphere was also great. We sat upstairs by the windows so had a great view of the street. Downstairs where there is the bar was also nice and warm. Service was excellent and at the end the bill was also not too much :) So all in all a very fine experience. I will definitively be returning when I visit NYC again!!! And I intend on trying the other dishes too...they looked fabulous!!!

My husband and I had dinner at Serafina Always. We made a reservation and requested a table on the second floor (per the recommendation of several TripAdvisor reviews.) We arrived before our reservation and were seated early on the second floor. Our table was very comfortable (and not “on top” of other customers.) The service was prompt and attentive, while the pizza and wine were great!

An impromptu visit on a Tuesday evening with my husband and teenage son. Despite having no reservation we were quickly seated. The restaurant was busy but the atmosphere was great - people looked to be enjoying themselves. The food was good - two pizzas and a pasta dish - no complaints about any of it, they were all fresh and tasty. Good attentive service. I thought the prices were a little expensive for what it was, but not outrageous. I would probably eat here again and next time would try a dessert.

Food is always good here. Bartender only know how to make basic drinks. No classic cocktails. Tight quarters at the tables (they squeeze as many seats in a small area as possible) good for meeting friends or business associates.

Four of us got together for a recent birthday dinner at Serafina Always. This busy cozy restaurant has a comfortable bistro setting. The menu offers a a range of small plates and appetizers to large entrees, all priced accordingly. The waitstaff is very attentive and patient (in this case, they took multiple iPhone pictures to accommodate our requests). The cheerful manager checked in on us regularly. The place is close so you can have a ringside seat to some of the antics and outbursts of other diners. With a couple of drinks each, our meal was in the $200 - $225 range, including tip.

Great service, great food, some interesting flavour combinations on pasta, gnocchi and pizza etc. Its a small and popular venue so tables very close together but this didn't bother us. No experience of the various mixed reviews we read here before going and our neighbours also seemed to be enjoying their meals 🙂

The service was excellent and the food was great and it was good value. The only problem we experienced was the clientele. Why do parents think it's appropriate to take small, very tired children to restaurants at 9 o'clock on a Saturday evening? We were seated upstairs and the ambience was 'elementary school canteen'! We had booked in advance so a table in the 'adult' section would have been appreciated. Not going back.

Our family dropped in for a lunch after a day in the park. The service was efficient, and the food was very good. We had pizza that was tasty, and a variety of salads (Avocado San Pietro had generous portion of shrimp) and were quite satisfied with all. The youngest was also quite pleased to get tennis racquet pasta.

Visited this restaurant with my family several times. Each time the food has been good. We have ordered pizza, pasta, fish, desert and no disappointments whatsoever. Service has also been good with helpful staff and the odd complimentary dish. Also child friendly as they offer a menu for children. Decent wine list, if you fancy something to accompany the meal.

This place has become an absolute must when we are in NYC. The excitement builds from when we touch down as it's usually the first place we eat. Once we see the yellow awning we know we are home! It epitomises Italian restaurants and Italian food. Considering that I am not a phenomenal pizza lover I have to admit that I do choose to eat pizza when I come here and it never disappoints. The waiters can be extremely attentive and others not so much but the atmosphere is friendly if a little bit formal.

Restaurant right by our hotel, so went here after we arrived on our flight. It looks awful from the outside - but it is soooo much better inside. The food was lovely authentic Italian and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My wife and I were tipped off to this little joint by our doorman. The salads my wife and I tried were both excellent. The arugula complemented the beets and goat cheese in mine. The beets were tender and plentiful. My wife got the spinach salad with goat cheese, pine nuts, and honey. She said it was superb. Both salads were large enough to share. I ordered the Black Truffle Risotto and it came out piping hot. The risotto was al dente and very flavorful. I the only problem is that I liked it well enough to nearly finish it despite being full. My wife got the Kale Pesto gnocchi and really enjoyed it. The serving sizes are generous, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere casual.

We arrived on time because the kitchen soon closed we took a first course and my wife grilled sea bass I would say good but not great.

Lovely Italian which is part of a chain but has a real neighbourhood feel about it (in an affluent part of town!). Burrata was delicious, lobster pasta amazing. Kids loved pizza and pasta. Great bottle of wine. Great service. If I lived round the corner from this restaurant I would be going there far too often!!

Always a place to visit. Now they have moved to larger premises, the space and noise level is big. No personal service, but you don't go here for attention.

My wife and I had just arrived in New York. We were tired after a hectic week in New Jersey, attending an Indian wedding. We were looking for a place close to our hotel ( The Pierre hotel ). We had seen this restaurant earlier in the evening so called them and booked a table. We ordered fairly simple stuff which should have been easy. However my wife's aglio olio spaghetti was rather disappointing. My own ravioli was just about ok. So not a great meal.

Chose this restaurant because it was close to The Pierre where we were staying and because we had just arrived and were starving. We were pleasantly surprised. Gilberto gave us exemplary service and the menu choices were astonishing. My wife ordered the pasta with Wild Maine lobster and was so surprised at how much meaty lobster was in the pasta. I had the Chopra salad and the rigatoni and it was also very tasty. A bit cramped for my taste but I guess that is the scene here. Will return just to try the pizza.

We popped in at about 8.30pm after a long first day in NYC. Our girls were hungry and tired and we knew that we were taking a chance trying to eat out at that time. The service was fantastic, we had food within 15mins and it was delicious. Great atmosphere - wish we could have stayed longer.

Never miss going to This particular Serafina while in New York. The location is very convenient the new remodeled space is nice and modern. Food always same quality and very well priced. Wide menu offering plates to share and great pastas.

Love the atmosphere. Service fabulous. Food is always good and served timely. I’ve been numerous times. Highly recommend.

We went because we needed a place in the neighbourhood that could do an early lunch for 12 people. Friends had recommended the place so I booked it. Very disappointed as it was my last meal this visit to NYC and now I am taking this weird aftertaste with me after all the great food I had this trip. First they seated us upstairs which was strange for an empty restaurant at 1130 Saturday morning. The service was attentive and and helpful though. We ordered up and waited. It started to go downhill as the food arrived. I did not sample everything, but what I did wasn't great. My "Italian" Caesar salad, so named because it has parmesan shavings on it, was a few leaves with a dressing heavy on the anchovies and light on garlic and taste. The carpaccio was decent, not great. But the chicken palliard I mistakenly ordered was unique and not in a good way. They had pounded a chicken breast into the size and consistency of a 12 inch pizza crust. This got rid of any juice or texture that the poor bird may have started with (or perhaps it had been run over by a heavy vehicle). They then seasoned it with a lot of parsley and some Italian herbs (gotta earn that Italian label - but then don't serve French dishes please) which overpowered it, grilled it, threw a lot of lettuce leaves and tomatoes to top it all off. Needless to say it was the worst interpretation of this simple dish which I order at times to not overdo the beef (see my review of Balthazar). A couple of the folks in our party seemed to be ok with their food hence a two-star though a one would not be out of place.

I came to eat pizza. Excellent crust ever so thin, crushed tomatoes, good cheeses. Lovely to sit outside and people watch. Located near the Ed Sullivan theatre if you're so inclined before or after The Colbert Show.

My family and I always look forward to coming to Serafina every time we visit the city, and never have been disappointed. This visit, we were greeted with great service, a lovely view, and great people watching as well! It's always fun to come after some time shopping on Madison Ave. Our food was excellent, as always. We ordered a pizza, a salad, and some fish, everything was perfection. We can't wait to make it back during our next trip to New York City!

Bought two pies to go and they were average at best. I expected more for the price. I got the truffle pizza and the VIP which came out to $50.

We are coming to Serafina since 20 years. Today was not the best experience. My pizza was not warm enough. I had problem to my stomach for the all afternoon. Can not eat tonight as I don’t feel well. What a peaty !

Nice place, great decoration, amaizinz wine list (short but selective). Food is ok, basic Italian well done and served. Not very confortable place but cute. Service is a bit stressed and servibgs tempos need to be imprives (as well as wine temperature service)

Cozy atmosphere with excellent service. Food is very good, there are meat and fish dishes, nice desserts.

Pasta was below average. Our party had two pizzas one was decent one was very soggy. There are too many good Italian restaurants in NYC to go back.

Recommended to us by our concierge and it was spot on. Great pizza massive starters especially the calamari, you only need 2 starters to share amongst 4 people.

We were here on a Sunday - the day of the NYC marathon at 7 pm. The city was busy and unfortunately they didn't have several of the items we tried to order - mostly anything with mushrooms but all our dinner was fantastic. The calamari and beet salad were excellent and the calamari was perfectly done. We tried the Di Fabio brick oven pizza which was excellent along with the orecchiette pasta. The spices were a good combination but not over done. The seating in the lower main floor dining room was tight but we had no reservation and were seated immediately as a couple. Nice atmosphere and so we were tempted into the desert - tiramisu and the torta apple pie (this torta was better than avg but not what I would choose again in an Italian restaurant). Probably the best tiramisu outside of Rome that we have ever eaten. Lots of regulars dining in the restaurant as well as travelers like ourselves. Although they were busy, no one made us feel like we should hurry to leave and gave us all the time we needed to enjoy.

Nice restaurant, very nice staff, the manager could smile more.. good Italian food.. Good service.. I suggest it

A very electric and tasty Tuscan eatery on the UWS. Though the restaurant’s two floors are narrow and the noise level is very high, the food is excellent. The menu is extensive, concentrating mostly on homemade pastas and pizzas, though there are the standard meat and fish dishes. It has a fire pizza oven which turns out tasty pies. I had the farfalle and shrimp in a light lemon cream sauce which was excellent. The others had spaghetti squash and salad which were also very good. The starter white pizza with mushrooms was exceptional. The service was very efficient and we were treated royally by the owner! Prices are moderate by NYC standards. Highly recommended.

It was just ok. Nothing great. Service was fine. She wasn’t super friendly or helpful. Almost seemed sad. Food was fine; nothing special about it.

While the food was great the service was probably the worst I’ve experienced. The server, Ivan R was rude, non-attentive and when he did pay attention was selective as to which member of our party he gave any time or awareness to. They were out of many items and he offered no substitutions or recommendations. The experience was not worth the money. Overall very disappointing.

We visited Serafina Always on a beautiful Saturday afternoon and were able to be seated at a table on the second floor by the window; we were able to make an Open Table Reservation without any issues. The restaurant was crowded but not overwhelming. We ordered the Chicken Breast Paillard, Veal Scaloppine Al Limone, Penne alla Stolichnaya, and a kid’s cheese pizza. All of the meals were very good, however, I felt the portion size of the Penne alla Stolichnaya was a little on the smaller size for the price. The service was spot on, our water glasses were never empty and the server was very efficient. We will definitely be back.

I’ve been to Serafina many times, and was a little disappointed with the ambiance change, which closed a back varanda, and opened a second floor. I thought the varanda was charming, and the restaurant now is not as cozy as before. Nevertheless, I still like the simple Italian food they serve. Service was not that great, a bit slow, but overall everything was very good. The tiramisu is the best I’ve ever had.

Returning to the Serafina a good two years after NYC was hit by the pandemic, it was refreshing to see this charming bistro back in full form with the bustle and good cheer of its dining. Manager Roberto and his team go out of their way to ensure each of the guests who keep pouring in is taken good care of, however crowded the room gets. The food is authentic and wholesome.

Great steak, great wine and even though there was a mix up with my main course they rectified it and knocked it off the bill without us saying a word. Excellent restaurant with great buzzing ambience. The apple tart dessert was amzing

On the Mark every time. Impeccable Nyc style thin crust pizza. Fresh salads and al dente pasta - easy and friendly service with a casual friendly atmosphere.

Love this place - Serafina Always, Fabulous Pizza ... Great food, service and kid friendly - service sometimes is toooo fast, but it is up to you to set the pace !

It is a nice place. Food and service are good. Our server was knowledgeable. Will be back. My kids loved the Pizza Margherita.

Large family/group dinners can always be problematic but we were pleasantly surprised last week with excellent service and a really good dinner at Serafina Always. It helped that our hosts had pre-ordered lots of "table food" so that the ravenous crowds could socialize and "munch" at the same time, while having drinks and relaxing. We then ordered off the menu and were very pleasantly surprised by an incredibly good fresh salmon on a bed of lentils and spinach and a large portion of fresh sea bass perfectly prepared two ways. The pasta dishes were well done also, and the wine list well chosen and priced reasonably. Excellent Antinori Chianti which complimented the meal. Our servers were pleasant and attentive and the entire evening exceeded expectations. Would definitely recommend for a private room venue...

A cosy, genuine Italian restaurant in the middle of Manhattan, very nice atmosphere. The food was excellent! Beautiful Tartar Sofia with salmon, tuna and avocado. And tagliolini a tartufo was absolutely delicious. It could have been such a nice evening if it wasn’t for the awful service. Completely inattentive, stressed, we had to find someone to order! Then we had to ask for the bread that everyone else was getting. Finally, when my pasta came in, the waiter asked if I wanted some cheese but never came back, I had to go and find him. If this terrible service was evenly terrible for everyone, but no, some parties got all attention , smiles, and excellent service. We were not the lucky ones. And we expressed our disappointment by reducing the tip. Encourage everyone to do the same

I was thankful that Serafina offers gluten-free pasta so I could enjoy their sauce. I got the penne alla stolichnaya (but had gluten-free fusili) and it was great. Great evening for a group of us to enjoy dinner and conversation together. Stayed long enough for coffee, dessert and until the 2nd floor cleared out. It has a quaint, warm atmosphere and I felt that the service was for the most part pretty good. Maybe a drink forgotten but quickly remedied and everything handled very well. Everyone around me got an appetizer and all seemed to enjoy.

Serafina has a decent Italian menu, its good quality food, with almost the same plates as always. Service wasn't as good, this time.

Came here with large group. Same group has been here in years past. Perhaps the newer negative reviews are correct. I was completely underwhelmed. Service was very uneven. Hard to get water for the all the guests, no bread offered, multiple pizzas ordered for our group and took long to come out etc. Nothing I ate, and tried two kinds of pizza and Kale Gnocchi were particularly good. I remember it being much better in years past. A very forgettable meal at a not great price. I will not be rushing back here.

Our visit to Serafina is one to forget - maybe it was just a bad day for the staff. Since we arrived the staff was giving us some attitude - it was as if they were always doing us favours! They forgot our order; then they brought the wrong dish and when the pasta finally arrived, it was over cooked. We'll try to give them another chance as liked the ambience

Superb italian eatery. The pasta and pizza are fresh and of generous portions. Al dante cooked to perfection and the marinara sauce is smooth and flavorful. Great for family, friends and at a moderate price for the large portions. The service was steadfast and very accommodating.

We went to a short performance at the MET and instead of the usual 4 hours we were out by 9:30 so we rushed to the restaurant and got there with plenty of time, the kitchen is open till 10:30 We had a salad and delicious pasta with good wine and a PERFECT fruit tart for dessert Miraculously the food took no time at all, which is extraordinary with NY restaurants around Madison Ave which usually take 30 minutes to bring in the first course even if it's a salad or soup

Native New Yorker here - Upper East sider. Chose Serafina "Always" because friends claim this is a consistently good restaurant and it served late (per the site - midnight). Met a friend after a show here - we walk in at 10:30pm and the Maitre D' says "we're closing the Kitchen in 5mn" - not wanting to be a b#$ch we just smiled and sat down - ofc the waiter came in 2 seconds to take our order and push us out. Food: Arugula salad and Margherita pizza was fine but honestly overpriced. The salad, maybe half of a Trader Joe's Arugula bag for $1.99, was $16 - just ridiculous. Service was terrible - asked for pepper and waiter disappeared (you know that type!). Just go somewhere else!!!

It's a an Anerican Italian resturant. Dining outside. The food is fresh and treated with respect to tradition. Meat and vegetarian dishes. Kids can find pizzas, fries, etc. Something for everyone. NYC prices.

We were in NYC over Labor Day staying just a couple doors down at the Loews Regency. This place was so convenient to our hotel that we decided to give it a try immediately after checking in. We enjoyed it so much that we came back two more times during the weekend! We lucked out and got the same very attentive server our first two visits. This man was friendly and incredibly helpful with my son's nut allergies. We felt confident and safe eating here. (The third time we ate here we had a different guy, who was not as attentive to us and was just average as far as service. More training might be helpful to getting better, more consistent service.) We had several pasta dishes and were never disappointed. My son absolutely loved the farfalle limonocello. It had a very different lemony flavor- not necessarily for everyone but pretty creative. We also had pizzas here and enjoyed all of them, too. Overall, I think this is a fantastic choice for lunch or dinner. We will definitely return on our next trip to NYC!

FABULOUS PIZZA. Fabulous delivery service. Last night we went there after a movie as they serve until 10:30pm. Restaurant is fine but strange that margueritta pizza is better when delivered. Friends each had a salad and liked very much. Service is fine.
All the way back in time
Fabulous Italian food. The pesto risotto was world class and the Orechette made my Italian fiancée incredibly nostalgic and brought her back to her Puglian childhood and her mamma and zia making it for her x
