Had my pre marathon meal there. The spaghetti and meat balls were delicious. The eggplant panini was good too. Took home a bottle of their olive oil.

About my 5th visit to this small restaurant that produces amazing sandwiches on sourdough bread. The menu is not huge but the quality of the food is the best. I will return

Small place with a good set of options (numerous panini choices). The bread makes the sandwich and they are great "to go" options. Went twice while in town for a few days and will visit again.

I always like to try new places and this wasn't what I expected.. the place is nice and clean the staff was nice but not a single Italian in the kitchen they were all Mexicans wish I don't mine but let's keep in mind is an Italian restaurant. I order the Tortellini Alfredo and was very good and tasty.. in the other hand cant say the same thing for the Pasta vongole I will call it Vongole Soup since it was more like a soup with a lack of taste..

It eas great finding this rest. on a rainy day. My arenchiny & chicken parmegana was original/ great. W'll come again

All I can say is forget about it. The best that's everything. Food top shelf, staff very friendly. I feel at home there try it you will love it.

Went here to grab a bite between events at the Javitz Center. Very unassuming place. Not a sitdown place but it does have seats to sit. The menu was plentiful and the food was very good, solid Italian fare. The service was ok. Should have got order right being it was only two sandwiches but otherwise it was good.

The service was really good and the menu was pretty good. I had to take a star away because the bread on my sandwich was rock hard and hurt the roof of my mouth. Maybe it's just me. I like soft bread. Our pasta was good.

Home made mozzarella and bread. Huge range of sandwiches on a massive chalk board. Lovely service. Great for a quick lunch!

I love this place, never fails the service is great, the Colombian Guy at the front is very nice person and if you are nice he will give you free cannolis, the cheese plater is fantastic you pick your meat, I had porciuto de Parma , supresata, fabulous taste and quality, the aged truffle cheese was delicious, and the Burrata cheese melt in your mouth, different size olives, mouthful artichoke heart , a good glass of chadorney and crusty bread was really heavenly, and home made cannoli free of charge made my lunch for the day, I highly.recomend this place.

Hungry after a trip to B&H Photo, we stopped here for a quick bite. Decided on the chicken soup and some tap water. The soup was TO DIE FOR! I was pretty sure they made their own pasta, but in fact they import their pasta from Italy. I will be back!

Eight of our family and friends of various ages went for an extended Saturday lunch. Antipasto, salads, pastas, heroes, deserts, coffee; all made with wonderful quality of ingredients and put out attractively. Small place with not many seats so I had to pitch in on service and clearing but given the price it was WELL worth it. No liquor license so we brought wines and beer with us (I think there is a liquor store a few doors away.) Everyone went away happy and satisfied.

Walked one block from our hotel to Sergimmo. Excellent service and high quality food. We ordered a sandwich to split and our friends ordered a platter. Both were beyond excellent. The platter was huge for $20. Well beyond a charcuterie plate you would purchase at a bar or restaurant. We will return here on a future visit.

We were looking for somewhere for a quick bite of lunch on a Sunday, on our way to walk the High Line, searched on the tripadvisor app and this place came up high on the reviews. Well the reviews are right! Only one other person as we arrived around 12.30, so no problem getting a table. Service was relaxed and friendly, but the orders came very quickly. The paninis were fantastic - very genrous fillings, and the prosciutto and mozzarella were the best I've had outside Italy. Good value, excellent lunch spot and we'll definitely be back.

Went here for lunch on our first day in the city so maybe we were just not yet acclimated to NYC... Found this place to be crazy busy-crowded. Good food but did not enjoy the experience.

We loved being here (don't want to tell too many!!). We've passed it many times on our way up to Lincoln Center, but have not ventured in. The pastas were simply delicious - both the rigatoni in tomato basil sauce and the rigatoni bolognese (our choice to get rigatoni but many different pastas available). The pastas were simply delicious, served piping hot and al dente. Just the way we love! Generous portions as well. Despite the fact that this is a largely take-out place, there are a few tables. We loved the informality to it all. The person who took care of us was terrific and so attentive. The tomato and mozzarella salad we also ordered was beautifully presented and delicious too. We loved being there and will definitely return and recommend to others. Thank you for making us feel so at home! A true find!

Had the VIP panini one day and a special the next with Italian sausage and peppers. Both very good and both very filling. Both more like a sandwich than what passes elsewhere for a panini. Efficient staff. I ate at off peak hours and there was plenty of seating available though it's a small place. Would definitely go back during a future NYC visit.

This is actually one of the best Italian sandwich joints I've eaten at. They are a small, family-style joint with fresh, quality ingredients and it feels like a classic Italian deli. The food was fresh to order and you can tell it's made with love. I stayed at a B&B near here and I am glad I found this place. Will definitely come back on my next trip through NYC.

An authentic salumeria on 9th Ave. Food and service was excellent. Staff was really friendly. Very beautiful chalk menu board. Very reasonable prices. If you are in the area and want a bite, make sure you stop in.

We walked about a mile from our hotel to get to this amazing sammy shop. If you want a sandwich with amazing meats, homemade mozzarella, yummy toppings and some fantastic bread then don't miss this place. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water! This is just the kind of place I wish we had in the Chicago area. The prices are reasonable for what you get. Now I know why this place is listed on many "best sandwich" shops in NYC. It's fantastic!!

Delicious Italian panini and pasta. Quality of pasta was very good. Unassuming exterior but interior was very Tuscan and nice. Great spot in Hell's Kitchen area.

Stopped here for lunch the other day while visiting New York. This is truly an Italian deli and a fun place to go. Lunch is crazy packed with people so you know its good.

13 of us went here for dinner. That involved us buying a number of platters of salami's, hams, cheeses, salads, antipasti and bread. What a feast! It is BYO so we took wine and beer with us. They helped out with glasses and the team at Sergimmo was very nice to deal with. The quality of the ham/proscuitto and the salumi was excellent. As was the antipasti. Cheeses were a bit boring. I can't rate their sandwiches however I can rate many of their ingredients and I was pretty impressed.

My sisters and I happened upon SergImmo because it was near our hotel in a visit more than a year ago. We have gone back on every NYC visit since! Great food and friendly staff. We always have to sample and share because it is all so good! Many people carry out their order but I wish the restaurant was a bit bigger so we could sit to talk and have coffee.

My husband and I went there for the fresh shaved meats and cheeses and found a wonderful antipasto platter, home made tiramisu and great wine. The customer service was great; especially Ivan who was friendly, pleasant and engaging! We really enjoyed our meal, service and atmosphere! This place is a must visit when you're in NYC!

Fresh, authentic flavors and panini large enough to share. Many different options--everything looked wonderful and we enjoyed our choice!

We walked past and decided to stop - great idea! The food is delicious, they mainly have pasta and panions and offer a good range of flavour options. The place is small and has about 10 tables. It looked like a local restaurant rather than a tourist place, so probably a good choice! About $17 for a pasta dish, maybe not the cheapest but worth it.

I must of walked past this place a dozen times on my way to and from work. And every day I would stop, look in the window and think I can get a deli sandwich anywhere. But today I figured why not and finally went in and it was well worth it. Immediately I was greeted by the gentleman behind the counter. I explained that this was my first time here and wasn't looking for just another sub sandwich. He tells me I've come to the right place (heard this a million times). I ask him for a few suggestions, expecting him to recommend the most expensive thing they have. But nope. He picks up the menu and asks me what I like. We then go through the menu together with him suggesting different combinations of meats and cheeses. This guy knew his stuff.

Decided to try here, and were pleasantly surprised. You have to order at the counter, and your drinks are handed to you then, and your food is brought to your table. We both had the Lasagne which was huge and extremely tasty. There are not many tables inside which I'm sure could feel a bit cramped when busy. Would recommend trying here for authentic Italian food.

SO, I'm not a big Italian fan but this place was the bomb. We loved the size and the sandwiches were awesome.. the pasta was great and it was quaint.. loved it! The price was not bad and because of this we ate there two times. I don't know good or bad Italian but I thought it was worth coming back for.

My friend and I had very different taste buds so we would get her the pasta from this location while I could pick up something from another restaurant nearby and we would both be happy. The pasta meals are two meals worth of food for about $20 but when you are hoteling it and don't have a fridge or microwave it certainly is hard to say no to eating the whole thing. She managed it and with a whole day of walking around, didn't feel too bad about it. From order to eating it takes about 7-10 minutes if you are staying in. I'm sure they are busier during the lunch hour and probably sell more panini's than pasta but this was a great find for the tourists that we are.

My recent review somehow had incorrect scores. The scores below (all 5s) are what should be shown on my earlier review. I had the exact same experience as a month ago; superb prosciutto and mozz cheese; a nicely pulled espresso; and a lunch I couldn't finish.

The food here is very good even if you are just doing takeout. I stayed in the area for about a week and think I ate here three times. I highly recommend.

The shrimp parmigiano panini is mouthwatering. The pasta bolognese can not be made better anywhere. A Salumeria where you can actually sit and have a bottle of wine.

I was not surprised to find another great restaurant in this city known for its diverse choices of cuisine, atmosphere and simplicity. We are in the city again visiting relatives and a night before seeing a play we needed to get a quick meal. Right around the corner from the theatre we found Sergimmo Salumeria. I thought it was just a deli and no big deal I wanted a sandwich. I was surprised to see they have many fresh salad selections ( my wife ordered their chicken salad) loved it and I went with the Italian panini. Very very good meal!!! And I caught a glance at the fresh pasta dishes as well! Wow we will be back. This spot is a winner!

This is a counter service establishment, that seems to be very heavy panini driven. We decided to order some pasta dishes and a mozzarella and pasta salad. The food was ready in about 10 minutes. Place needed to be cleaned a bit (tables had a lot of dishes on them), but the person at the counter was very nice. Quick food, and everything was very good. Vodka sauce was awesome and the baked ziti was solid and it came with a meatball that was very good. Price for NYC was really good for the quality of food you got.

I had a delicious prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich with fig spread, and we split a bowl of caprese pasta with our sandwiches. Too much to finish! Authentic imported meats and house-made mozzarella. Don't miss it!

This small unassuming place has great sandwiches. The prosciutto di Parma with mozzarella and a fig jam, made fresh, was outstanding. They have indoor seating (six tables, 14 total)

I walked out of my way to this restaurant in Hell's Kitchen because of the good reviews. The ambience of the place was nothing special, as there are only a few tables. But, the sandwiches are great. The staff was exceptionally friendly, offering me samples of the things about which I was curious.

Great food at reasonable prices. I would recommend trying their chicken bruschetta! Definitely coming back.

Everything fresh. Bread to die for. Self service with limited table seating. Good service and decent prices.

Ok---the food (clam pasta) was very flavorful. 5 stars for that. The two glasses of wine were good too. But both were more expensive than they ought to have been for the ambience (a cramped deli atmosphere), and time of day (happy hour--NOT!). The seating is very limited though I squeezed in at a table between two others and felt odd walking back to the counter squeezing between tables (I am really very average size). Authentic-yes; #111 in all of NYC-no way. Go there and order take out for the food, but for nothing else. I felt like I missed a good dinner somewhere else when I walked out. You can do a lot better at other restaurants, though you will not go wrong, in a pinch.

I went for a large grilled chicken salad while my wife ordered a panino. She was surprised they didn't heat it for her, but otherwise enjoyed it. My salad was great, with nuts and raisins and a great lemon dressing. They also have artisanal Italian sodas - I had one flavored with a spice that I couldn't quite place, but it was really nice. A busy place, by the way, but if you don't mind sharing a table, it shouldn't be a problem.

Had a "godfather" no peppers and switched to hot cappicolla..... Reasonably price for a sandwich and a drink $17. Cash only in this place. I would come back

Stumbling upon this unpretentious little deli was an accidental delight. Around the corner from our accommodation, it sits in 9th St between 35th and 36th streets. Opening at 11.00am, coffee and panini was easily obtained as was a space to sit. However, by 11.30, the place was packed attesting to the popularity of the place. Good espresso, and packed panini make a good start to the day. Even an idiosyncratic Australian request for a 'flat white' or a 'three quarter latte' was handled with humor, tolerance and skill. We returned several times including one evening for a very good pasta meal. Don't be put off by the unprepossessing facade.

I went to Sergimmo Salumeria on Oct 7. We ordered the Baked Ziti with meatballs and the Chicken Parmesan Panini. The service was good. The guys behind the counter were friendly. The wait for the takeout was quick. The food was just ok. I love Italian and am very picky about it. My Baked Ziti with meatballs despite the name only had one huge meatball. The meatball was good, however there was very little sauce and the mounds of noodles and cheese were very dry. I saw potential had they put more sauce on it. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10. The Chicken Parmesan Panini was bad. The baguette was tough and it was hard to eat. My partner said it was the worst food of the trip and he even said you could get better at sbarros (ouch). If I am by there, I will try again, but will not go out of my way for it.

My husband and I visited this neighborhood sandwich shop -- they have the best Italian Bread. Their sandwiches are awesome! The shop is decorated in the nostalgia feeling. You must stop by. This is a great hidden treasure in Hell's Kitchen.

Hello Sergimmo Salumeria! Will you always be there for me when I visit NYC? I am still dreaming about the roast pork, red pepper, and provolone sandwich you crafted. The bread was legendary...crisp exterior and perfectly paired. The top off featuring balsamic glaze was the icing on the cake. Amazing!

We went here after a long day of meetings and the people were friendly and helpful. The food was first class delicious. Great menu, order at the counter and take to your table. We went there twice in our NYC stay and intend to go back to "our place" next month on our return to mid-town Manhattan.....

this is a New York typical hole in the wall kind of place. Has about 15 seats and no table service, but a very large menu for eat in or take out. The pasta we had was superb, trying both pesto and tortellini alfredo. Limited drinks in cooler, with wine available. There is also a small selection of olives etc. While simple, the pasta truly wonderful.

Found this nice place close to our hotel for a late family dinner. It has beer and wine too. The teen liked the salad, the paninis and pastas were very tasty. Clean and authentic feel. Great value for NYC, out the door at$15/person for a nice dinner.

Delicious italian sandwiches made of top quality ingredients piled on excellent crusty bread. 3 of us each had a different sandwich and all we're great.

This is a great little place where the sandwiches are delicious and the prices are reasonable. Seating is tight and, for us, the employees asked a solo diner who acted like a regular customer, to move so that we could sit together.

Loved the food, and the service! All our meals were fantastic and the owner was good fun as well. Pick this one.

Hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. This place is as authentic Italian as they come. Just a few blocks from Penn Station and MSG as well. Can't wait to go back!

The place is another hidden treasure in Hells Kitchen. They make mozzarella in the kitchen and it is amazing. The VIP sandwich was recommended, not a combination I would have chosen but I am glad I did. The staff was friendly. Cappuccino could put Starbucjs out of business.

This is a busy lunch crowd take out or eat in for sandwiches, salads, or pasta! Wide variety of choices. Be prepared to wait in line or order ahead. But worth the wait as the chicken parmigiana panini was still warm after walking over to Herald Square to sit and enjoy!

The paninis are AMAZING, we had them to go Sunday and they were SOOOO good. I'm a New Yorker also not a tourist.

Wanted a quick bite after getting into town, and this was right around the block from where we were staying. It's a small place with a big selection of panini and pasta dishes. We got one of each, and both were excellent. Wish we could have tried more. Next time we are in NYC we will stop in again.

Stopped here before going to a show based on the TA reviews. We weren't looking for a high priced fancy dinner and this turned out to be a perfect choice. Very small and no wait staff - you order at the counter and pick it up when ready. A lot of great menu options ranging from Paninis to pasta dishes and friendly staff. Everyone in our group of 4 loved their food and we were in and out in a hurry. A great example of how you can eat well in NYC without spending a fortune. One note; at the time of this review, the menu posted on the website was entirely in Italian.

We had lunch here as we were staying nearby and just came across it. We had garlic bread and pasta (spaghetti & tortellini Alfredo) OMG, Delicious!!! It is a deli as well so menu was extensive with options. Casual atmosphere with Italian radio station playing and they served food at the counter and you had to go get it (which I thought was weird & comical at the time) but so worth it. Just thinking about it now -OMG yum!!

Our group of six had a delicious lunch on a Saturday. We all tried paninis and salads. Only one person thought the bread a bit too chewy, but the rest of us enjoyed our meals. Only a few inside tables.

Stopped here for a quick panini on way to the Javits center. I just got back from a 12 day trip to Italy. This place is authentic to what I experienced on my trip.

Big, delicious Italian sandwiches on wonderful bread! In retrospect, we could have split one. Just a few tables inside and very busy at lunchtime, so we took ours back to our nearby hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful.

We had the pasta al vongole with baby clams and the calamari. Both tasted really good and fresh. Service was good and the food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. We will try the paninis and salad next time.

My husband and I ended up at Sergimmo Salumeria on the recommendation of my sister's friend. We ordered the #3 (Emilia Romagnia) and the #19 (Basilicata), but my southern accent caused us to get the #3 and the #18! It was a happy accident because I never would have chosen a sandwich with hot peppers. . .but I really enjoyed the #18 with the hot peppers! We needed and enjoyed our break for lunch here. The amount of prosciutto on the #3 was WONDERFUL! Many places give only a slice or two of prosciutto. This sandwich was delicious, and the tuna on the other sandwich was great as well. The sandwiches and the wine gave both of us happy reminders of tiny shops in Italy. Thanks!

Wow! Literally the best sandwich I've had in my lifetime, hands down. Delicious rustic bread, amazing meats, rich yet sweat balsamic, and amazing homemade cheese. It's like you're in Italy, but without the flight. This quality doesn't come cheap, but your tastebuds will love it.

family of five gave the menu a run. Carnivale awesome sandwich, Lombardia and Emilia Romagnia big favorites. Nice staff, easy to get to on 9th ave.

We came here based on location and good reviews online and weren't dissappointed. The sandwich was large enough to share and quite tasty. The menu of sandwiches is extensive, at least twenty different choices and I'm sure you could create your own as well.

Wow. What a sandwich. The food is excellent and the service is great as well. You can tell the staff and owner takes pride in their work and all of the food is top quality and fresh. The combinations are fantastic any anyone can fine something they like on the menu. The only drawback is seating is very small so if there are more than a few of you it may be a challenge to find a seat.

Delicious homemade food at reasonable prices; however a little slow to take your order. Serving sizes are huge, so you can split a dish if you'd like.

A dream experience for me. Everything a good restaurant should be is in the quality of the food. Simple cooking, quality ingredients, well made. The hungry crew, we had jus walked up a hunger on the high line, arrived looking to be satisfied PRONTO. the staff were ready to help and the only thing holding up the ordering process was my indecision. the menu range is quite large and everything sounded delicious. Once ordered the food arrived quite quickly and the promise of the menu was delivered and then some. it was delicious. Our hunger was soon satisfied. We could easily have walked past the plain exterior, as another reviewer has said, it does resemble a deli. We crossed paths with a lady as she was leaving, she was raving about the food, a fantastic stroke of luck.

As a mum of 3 adult kids visiting from Australia, finding a great variety of food options has been a big thing for me. Finding this place not only ticked the authentic New York restaurant box but also the delicious and affordable boxes too. Every moment spent in here felt like authentic New York. I was amazed at the extremely affordable pricing of the bacon, egg and cheese rolls ($4) and the rest of the food for that fact. This was a truly welcomed surprise. The decor is basic with not many tables and chairs which is just fine, the food is fast and good to go if you need. There was a nice array of small goods in the case which would be sliced on the spot for sandwiches etc. This wont be my last time visiting here and would highly recommend anyone visiting New York to take a break for breakfast here. One of the best of New York right here.

We order from Sergimmo for delivery to the convention center frequently. The Veneto is my favorite. Spicy and tangy. Great bread. I always order it. My boss always orders the Lombardia. We are happy and satisfied creatures of habit. Delivery is pretty quick after the order is placed too which helps!

After many years of consistent incredible meals at this classic Italian deli, I simply had to post a long overdue review. I get to travel to NYC only once or twice a year on business, and this tiny, quaint little authentic deli has simply become an absolute must-go-to place on my list. From the outside, it looks about the same as every other small eatery in town...typical canopy, narrow width, big door, no outside seating. But when you walk in, there is the unmistakable realization that you've found something special. Maybe it's the cured meats and cheese hanging above the deli case, or maybe it's the smell of delicious food, or maybe the cold cases full of assorted San Pellegrino waters, including my favorite Limonata and Aranciata. Whatever it is, it hits me in the chest and I find myself euphoric...yes, it's as corny as it sounds, sorry...LOL! After the initial thrill has passed, I move onto the dreaded task of making a decision on what to order. The offerings run the gamut...salads, pasta, antipasto, Panini down to desserts and coffee...all of the classic Italian goodies you'd expect; Cannoli, Tiramisu, Espresso, Cappucino, etc. So many choices, so little time. For me, although I've had many things on the menu, one stands above all others, #1. II VIP - Prosciutto di Parma, house made fresh mozzarella, arugula with EVOO and a delicious fig spread...yes, fig spread. For starters, if you are an Italian deli snob like me, you know the bread is the most important feature of the sandwich, like dough is to pizza. Without the perfect vessel for which to place your above standard ingredients, the sandwich would fail. Well, not here. The rolls are crisp, bordering on tough, and the crunch when you bit an crumble when you tear off a piece...absolutely perfect! I crave #1, dream about it before I get to NYC and always take one with me when I go...crazy but true. Outside of my #1, there are literally 25 other sandwiches to choose from, so most definitely something for everyone in every combination imaginable, so you too might have a hard time choosing, or like me, simply have to go back again and again to try them all. There are plenty of side salads, olives and such to choose from as add-ons, so if you like, you can create quite a substantial meal on your trip. All orders are placed and paid for at the counter, and they'll call you when it's ready. You'll either receive it on a tray if your eating in, or in a bag for carry-out. The only drawback to this little gem is the seating...it's super limited. So if you come during peak times, you'll likely have difficulty eating in. Any other time during the day you'll be good to go. And as a sandwich shop, people generally eat and run and don't linger. For me, the anxiety I feel, not knowing if a table will be available is part of the excitement of it all, so no big deal. As long as I end up with #1 in my hot little hands, I'm in heaven...ahhh!! Mangia...enjoy!!

This little restaurant is super casual, excellent food, and you can either eat there or take it to go. Best meatballs, panini's, salads, everyone was happy with their meal. Very friendly service.

Oh my, that was tasty. I ordered the cheese and sausage plate (4 servings) and asked the man behind the counter for his recommendations. He suggested the proscuitto and fresh mozzarella. Both were out of this world; all of it was sensational.I couldn't finish it; I can't remember the last time that happened! They pull a fine espresso, too.

This place is an absolute find. Great sandwiches, so many on the menu to choose from. Fresh ingredients, put together well you can't go wrong and the Mozzarella is amazing. Was so good we went back everyday

This was a very surprise find. Our first night in NYC, I asked "siri" for restaurants near our hotel, the Wyndham, and this one popped up. It was a short walk, and my friends and I are so glad we found this place! I had the best Lasagna I have ever had!!! Very small inside, but do not let this fool you! Food is out of this world! Go!!!

Nice bread, crusty and flavorful. Fresh ingredients and a drizzle of good balsamic vinegar really made a nice sandwich.

Wow, I stopped in here on my way out of town last week to grab a quick bite - I was in the mood for pasta and tried the bowtie pasta with salmon in whiskey cream sauce. A mouthful of flavor! Sooooo good!

The staff was so helpful in this cozy little spot. you could see all of the fresh ingredients being prepared right in front of you. I got the panini of the day--Veal Parmigiana, which was delicious. Would definitely go back!

If you are going to take in a matinee show in NYC, be sure to plan an 11:30 Lunch at this amazing sandwich shop. Yes they serve other classic Italian Pasta and Salads ....but we have never been willing to give up our chance at their sandwich board to try any of those items. These sandwiches are as good any thing in Philadelphia's little Italy. If you get there much after 11:30 a.m. the place could be sick busy and there are literally only 18-20 seats. But things move very quickly if you can actually choose a sandwich from the phenomenal list of classic Italian creations. They are all made on possibly the best Ciabatta or Italian rolls I have ever tasted, and their fig spread or Balsamic Glaze (all home made along with their mozzarella and everything else they use) is to die for. The service is friendly and fast when it is just full....but it can back up when people are waiting outside or there is a hard day of take out orders. My wife and I travel for food.....and we always compare to those great little sandwich shops in every euro city you ever go through except that these guys are better. If you are in a hurry....well you may not have time to read the sandwich board to make a choice but if you need quick help, trust me when I tell you that selection # 17 or #20 will guarantee a perfect sandwich. You'll need strong teeth because their Ciabatta is real! Chewy, flavorful and 2" of filling between the top and bottom of the roll! Don't miss this place!

We came after reading raving reviews about this restaurant. Maybe, we should have tried the sandwiches instead of pasta. The meat and tomato sauces were on the sweet side and the white sauce seemed to have been based on bottled lemon juice or vinegar (very sour). I did not mind that the pasta came from a box rather than fresh, but my husband did.

Went shopping around macys and dicided to pass by this restaurant. Small and clean. I had the tortelini alfredo which was pretty good and the pasta al vongole not that good. It look like a soup. Also clams were cut already plus no taste. Sorry wont be coming back.

The eggplant parmigiana sandwich I ordered here, must have weighed a pound. The bread was crusty and good, not the typical hoagie roll from the pizza place. The eggplant was both abundant and thinly sliced. The sauce was mellow, and the cheese gooey and delicious. My only problem, was that I got the sandwich to take out, and when I unwrapped it, under the foil was sandwich paper which absorbed a lot of the sauce and which stuck to the bread and cheese. I would have preferred not having to lick the paper in an attempt to get at the mozzarella--maybe next time I will eat there instead to savor every biteful. P.S. I have to bring half of the sandwich home to my husband--it is way too much to eat at one sitting..

For me a great sandwich begins with good bread....these sandwiches are made with the very best, crusty bread. The ingredients are fresh and delicious and the selection of sandwiches is extensive...will definitely return and go down the list and try each one! This place has the charm and character reminiscent of Italy...certainly doesn't feel like midtown Manhattan!

We were hungry for pasta and wanted some good take out near our hotel in midtown and we stumbled upon this place and was so happy we did! Give this place some love as there was no one there when we arrived on a Monday evening at dinner time. Our bolognese pasta was super hot and the sauce was delicious and fresh! We also got a grilled chicken salad with a lemon vinegarette that was also delicious. HUGE portions! Very happy with our meal and service

Such great sandwiches. This is the kind of food that makes New York special. Thanks for keeping up the standards of NYC Italian food.

We were looking for a place to chow down and have a few beers before an event at Madison Square Garden. We found this restaurant on Yelp, and we are so glad we did. The Lasagna was the best I have ever had, and the Tortellini Alfredo was also amazing. All beers were $5 so it was a wonderful alternative to paying $12 per beer inside the venue. They had a pretty big variety from imported pilsners to Sam Adams. If you are looking for Italian in this area, definitely give it a go. Clean restrooms and plenty of seating as well with a cozy atmosphere.

Had a quick dinner right after getting into nyc. Great eggplant parm panini & grilled chicken, mozz, olive panini - fresh and fabulous. House red wine was excellent too.

This is a great little place that we keep going back to again and again. The pasta dishes are as good as you'll find at bigger sit-down restaurants, even if you have to eat them on the few chilly tables with metal chairs. Great paninis and cannolis, and the crostini del giorno...Forgetaboutit, it's so good.

In a quiet neighborhood on 9th Avenue, this non-touristy place is authentic and the food is delicious! We had soup and paninis for lunch and were not disappointed.

Got to the hotel and checked out for what was the closest Italian joint. Not expecting anything except for great food we went here for a late dinner. Typical hole in the wall. But awseome food and bottle of wine. I am sure partly just the fact it was our first meal in NYC on this trip....but seriously the pasta was awesome. The paninis were awesome. Would be a regular place to go if I lived here.

Stopped by here on a Saturday afternoon and grabbed a panini, antipasto and cannoli to share. The service was quick and the food delicious. The panini in particular was amazing - fresh mozzarella, prosciutto and pesto. Huge amount of food for the price ($9 for panini and $5/4 cannoli). The only negative is that the antipasto plate wasn't the greatest - $18 seems high for roasted veggies, roasted peppers, artichoke hearts and sundried tomatoes -- no meat, no cheese. Other people were eating hot pasta and it looked amazing. Definitely worth stopping by.

Cant say enough good about this place. We ate antipasti and bread, pasta and dessert all wonderful. Homemade mozzarella yum

Went for quick bite. Restaurant is very small only a few tables. Sandwiches are great, all fresh ingredients. I had the VIP which was one the best sandwiches I have ever had. Would visit again.

Pasta and a can of beer was $23, credit card was charged with $24. When I asked for the reason I was told that "the terminal" charges a surcharge automatically. I complained but the guy behind the counter only shrug his shoulders and pulled out a small display with information on the surcharge of 3.75%. When I left the place the display was hidden by other stuff in the area of the cash register again.

My wife and I shared a takeout prosciutto sandwich from here and we both came away REALLY happy. The ham was cut thin sliced while I watched and the bread, the mozzarella and especially the fig preserve were all excellent, as good as anything we have had in Italy . Definitely a hidden gem, whose sandwiches are worth a special trip.. Another time we would eat in. I has a very comfortable feel to it, though not at all fancy--much nicer than your typical sandwich place.. It's close enough to the midtown theatre district that it would make an excellent light lunch choice for a matinee, and it's also close to Penn Station.

Just simply the best Italian food our party of 7 has ever had! I had the bolognese others seafood pasta, pasta with vodka sauce, garlic bread, salads every dish was delicious. The red wine that recommended amazing. The cannoli wow and was told tiramisu was great. We didn't get to sit together because seating is small but that didn't bother us. Highly recommended

We grew sick of the food at the Javits Center and decided to find someplace nearby where we could grab a quick bite. This place had good reviews on another review site and we decided to give it a go. The food was all very good. I had the prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich. I wish I asked for it with tomatoes, because that would have really knocked it over the edge. The prosciutto was delicious and sliced perfectly thin. My colleagues had the pasta, vodka sauce and Alfredo and both loved it. It's a small place that seems to do a ton of takeout. I'd definitely stop by here again when I find myself back at the Javis center and need some different food than what's found at the conference room.

They make great pasta and the sandwiches are out of this world. I have been in 3 times because I live close by and each time have eaten something different and it has been excellent. The VIP, the eggplant parm, the meat and cheese plate with olives, the pasta's all great for a reasonable price. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is when you say you are open til 8 pm on week nights you can't be finished with making food at 6:45pm.

My husband and I stopped in here for a drink and left lugging home a liter of extra virgin olive oil. They have a cold case of bottled drinks, wine, and a large food selection. (The chianti was very nice.) We saw everyone around us eating delicious-looking (and well-portioned) lunches and made plans to return to try the food. The bottles of oil on the shelf looked tempting and, after trying a spoonful, we took home a bottle of some seriously delicious stuff.

Popped in here for a quick bite before the basketball. All seemed ok but we had to wait a long time for the food. No warning about having to wait and when I asked, I was told that pasta takes a long time.

This place is excellent. It is only small, seating maybe 20 people, but serves up tasty, tasty Italian food. Our son, who is a bit of a spaghetti bolognese fanatic, said it is the best meal he has had in America. The other three of us all agreed that it was excellent. I tried the Baked Ziti with Meatball, based on the recommendation of another guest who was on her way out while we were trying to decide. Glad I listened to her suggestion. The La Lasagna, and Meatball Parmigiana Panini were also very tasty, and all were generous serves. Price was also very reasonable. As another reviewer noted, the music was a bit loud, but not unbearable. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to NYC.

This is a great little place which kept the whole family happy. We had pasta al vongole, very tasty, and chicken Caesar salad. No fuss, friendly service - we will be going again.

My husband and I were in NYC to see a concert at Madison Square Garden and stayed at a hotel just around the corner. We wanted a light and quick dinner before the event so we decided to pick up a sandwich due to the great reviews. Several days later, we are still talking about this sandwich. We split the #1 which included a magical combination of prosciutto, mozzarella, fig spread and the most perfect bread. We also split a cannoli which was delicious. Our only regret was that our train home the next morning departed Penn Station before this deli opened. Next trip, this fact will play an important part in our logistics....Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back.

We passed this place a few times during the 2 weeks we were in the city, but didn't try it until our last day. We wished we'd gone in earlier. The paninis we had were delicious, just like we would make ourselves at home for a weekend lunch. Highly recommend.
Super quick delivery and always correct order plus the food is delicious!
This is my GO TO breakfast place. They make the BEST bacon, egg, and cheese rolls it's just amazing. Who would've thought a regular nyc icon sandwich could be so good!?! Always super pleasant and delivery is quick. I need to go during lunch so that I can review that as well :)
