Fabulous ambiance fabulous food

By Rhonda R |

This authentic Spanish cuisine prepares seafood perfectly . Tender and so fresh tasting that you will want to finish every morsel, but the portions are large! I suggest you split the dinner and enjoy one of the freshly made Spanish deserts .

Wonderful Mussels in Garlic Sauce!

By Jennie c |

We ate here on an early Monday afternoon - the restaurant has a nice family atmosphere. Mussels in garlic sauce were exceptional! Portions are large and delicious. Sangria was very nice. Service was good. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Book your reservation early!

Has the chef ever been to Spain ?

By Luca P |

Embarrassing Pallea , boiled chicken and seafood with Chorizo in it that is absolutely NO. The Octopus also tasteless . I’m shocked by the 4.0 on trip . Has anyone eaten Spanish food in Spain ? Paella Valenciana in Spain? If you have don’t go here. Can’t speak for the rest of the menu because I did not taste .

Horrible service

By Dantist45 |

The food is really good. Large portioned entrees, but the appetizers are pricey and in small portions, although also were delicious. The service was just bad. The first waiter from Spain who took our order was great, courteous and knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. The waiter who got our table ready was subpar. He threw our utensils on the table like pieces of trash. While we were enjoying our food one of the workers decided it was the appropriate time to wash the window right next to our table from the outside. While we appreciate their efforts to maintain the cleanliness of the restaurant, we also did not appreciate seeing his crotch in front of our faces when we looked outside the window, while EATING. Window maintenances should have been done BEFORE the day's opening, or at the least not while customers were seated by the window tables. The third waiter was even worse than the last. He was retrieving our finished plates and we asked to have the leftovers for takeout. He gave us attitude that he only has two hands and can't do two things at once. We simply asked to take out our food, no need for the attitude. Then he comes back to our table and his colleague tells him we were just asking nicely and he starts giving attitude to his colleague as well. There is no place for disrespectful behavior, especially in front of your customers. We asked if we could also have the bread for take out and he threw our doggy bag on the table and demanded that we put the bread in that bag ourselves. Really? We left with our receipt after giving a good tip despite the gross treatment because the food was good, but then another waiter came rushing out of the restaurant to tell us they need the receipt with our orders on it. I asked for a copy and he told me to wait, not even letting us wait inside the restaurant. So we waited in the cold for 5 minutes and he pops out his head to hand in our copy, making us walk back from where we were waiting to get the copy. And the copy wasn't even a copy, it was the same one I gave back with the top part of the receipt ripped off. I asked for a COPY, not half of the original receipt. 3 rude waiters and only 1 decent one, this is just sad. I've gotten better service at a fast food chain than here. This restaurant used to be way better. I'm guessing they had to cut costs and hire people with less than half of common sense and decency.

Great restaurant, great atmosphere

By Jacques D |

Great restaurant, the dishes are excellent, hearty, in a great atmosphere, and served by great waiters, go right away!!!

Always enjoyable

By Jeremy T |

I come here quite often with friends and family, I especially like the shrimp with green sauce as well as the broiled lobster. Last time I was there we were 8 people Everyone was exceptionally happy with your meal. All the dishes were well prepared and delicious. Service always excellent and the sangria a great drink to accompany this excellent Spanish food. The owners who have been there for many years are always making sure things are OK. All in all an enjoyable meal with family and friends.

Spanish Food Gem

By nyladeblu |

This restaurant is not a secret but if you're one who hasn't tried it you're missing a treat. Over the years the food hasn't changed at all. The paella is outrageous, and the Cornish hen is amazing. From soup to dessert you can't go wrong with Seville.

Family or friends always great

By Borjamerayo |

Doesn't matter if you go with family or with your friends it's always a great plan. Kind owner, good service and the best spanish food in town

consistently excellent

By BrewsterG |

consistently outstanding food; grilled calamari, mariscada ajillo excellent over multiple visits. Service efficient and friendly. Be prepared to wait(at the bar or otherwise) if arriving after 7; reservations not taken.

Authentic Spanish Experience in the Village

By Peter D |

Doesn't take reservations but we were able to get a table for 4 Sunday evening as a walk-in. Chose the booths at the rear rather than the tables - with hindsight a mistake; there's not a lot of space between the bench and the table to the point where (unless you are stick-thin) it's very uncomfortable. Food however was very good and a wide choice on the menu - had the paella which was generous in size and stuffed full of meat, shellfish, and lobster washed down with a very palatable (and reasonably priced) bottle of Rioja. Partner had the pork chop which although tasty was a little dry - a sauce of some description would have been perfect. Cosy, authentic restaurant which (by New York standards) - looks old; apparently it's been here since 1941. Would go again - but sit at a table not a booth!

Rich Food, Moderate Prices

By Cara O |

We visited Savilla on a Saturday for a very early dinner, but the place filled up quickly. Every table was occupied by the time we left, shortly after 6:00 p.m. The fact that many of the diners appeared to be well known to the wait staff demonstrated the popularity of this establishment, at least with locals. Although we’d never been here before, we were greeted in a friendly fashion and immediately seated. Water glasses were filled promptly and with great regularity throughout our meal. A basket of so-so Italian bread was placed on the table seconds after we were seated. Bread was accompanied by foil-wrapped butter patties (which we didn’t touch) and a bottle of not-bad olive oil. Salad is served with all entrees, topped with the dressing typically found in a Galician Spanish restaurant. We chose to share our meals of chicken Villaroy and shrimp in green sauce. The chicken was moist and flavorful, lightly breaded over a light coating of a creamy, rich bechamel. The shrimp were small and a wee bit overcooked, but the green sauce, while not exactly a 10, was tasty. Rice and Spanish potato “chips” accompanied the meal. Portions were large. Service was excellent, and prices were, as Goldilocks might say, “juuuuuuuuuuuuust right.” The setting is charming, old-fashioned, and a bit cramped, but we will definitely pay Sevilla another visit!

West Village Favorite

By bobbyur |

Had dinner there twice this month while in the city. Had the paella both times. one order is plenty for 2 people for a great price. the Sangria is very good also. the restaurant is small and it does get crowded but everyone has a great time. the staff is always friendly and pleasant. this is a cant miss good time down in the west village.

The very best Spanish food!

By Francine700 |

My friend and I, craving Spanish food, happened upon this restaurant. What a find! The salad was delicious and the Marriscada with Green Sauce was outstanding as were the baked clams! We really enjoyed half pitcher of red sangria we shared and the desserts were fabulous! We ate so much and really loved every bite! We will be back, for sure!

Simply the best

By LPM418 |

46 years now. Never tire of this place. Saw my favorite waiter. Been there 42 years he says...Lots of familiar faces. The food, as always, delicious and good value. Crowded, energetic, never had facelift. Like going back in time. Love love love this place. Always crowded. Obvious many guests have been coming here for years.. One big, noisy, happy family.

Ate Outside Amidst Old World Charm

By Sandra R |

We called them up because we were going to walk over from SoHo, and was surprised to find they were open, outdoor dining only due to the pandemic. We started with Gazpacho and shared a Seafood Paella (they're huge), Pitcher of Sangria and the famous garlic bread. The garlic bread was a little mushy, but this is my favorite Spanish Restaurant in New York City on quaint Charles Street lined with brownstones. So it will always have a place in my heart.

Good Food/Flawed Service

By Harvey M |

I find it too often that people working in restaurants don't have a good job related understanding of English and are not fluent enough to express needed thoughts at the time of verbal interaction with the diner. Those were issues here at yesterday's dinner, but I won't go into detail about how they played themselves out last night. They just spoiled what could have been a close to perfect dinner. I said close to perfect because the Galecian soup had an unpleasant taste. Excellent is the word I use to describe the Shrimp with Green Sauce. The green sauce is so good that I used my spoon instead of my fork to eat that dish. A 1/2 pitcher of Red Sangria was excellent after I sent it back because it was too weak and they made it stronger.

Olde fashioned good

By BigoBoca |

Now that El Faro has closed we've been looking for a reasonably priced restaurant that serves good paella and this is it. Friendly and adequate service with good food is a treat. This is it for. Us.

A must stop when in New York

By Mitch M |

We have been coming here for years and the Paella and Sangria is always top notch. We have found it best to visit when they are busy as the food quality and service seems much better than at off peak times, might have to do with the owner being there when they are busy. It is an old fashioned style place so the tables are close together but that just adds to the ambiance.

A HAPPY CHANCE

By GODFREY W |

We walked passed this place when looking for a restaurant which we had been recommended and saw through the window some people tucking into a plate of prawns - they put their thumbs up so we walked in and were immediately struck by the intimate decor and lovely aroma of Spanish cooking - we reserved a table for the following evening on the spot. We were not disappointed. We were greeted by the Maitre D as if we were regulars and our waiter was a lovely gentleman. A starter of scallops in spicy garlic sauce consisted of five plump scallops, perfectly cooked, in a delicious light sauce. The paella main dishes were very good and very substantial, served in individual aluminium dishes with lids to keep them warm. Even at today's exchange rate, just under £60 a head, including tips and two bottles of excellent Albarino, was real value for money.

Not recommend

By guada53 |

Not authentic food We went with friends and the experience was no so good. The appetizers are tasteless. The Pulpo a la gallega was no real Pulpo. And no has potatoes. The waiter said that was their way of doing, seriously? No recommend.

Spanish Food....The Best.

By R1d1k101 |

When I am in New York this is a must for entertaining clients or enjoying a hearty meal with friends. You can't go wrong with the entire menu. Calamari, shrimp Ajillo and Spanish sausage appetizers and Arroz con Pollo for the main course. The best. They treat you like family. Don't forget the Sangria.

Perfect except for high noise level

By Redfoot |

The mussels in green sauce has been my favorite for decades. In fact, part of the charm of this place is that it never changes. I swear that some of the waiters were born here. Lots of other good stuff on the menu; I especially recommend the octopus appetizer. But - the place is often overly busy and, as a consequence, very noisy, as the tables are close together. Counterbalancing this is the fact that they don't rush you to turn over tables, so you can take your time dining (but if you come late be prepared to wait for a while to be seated).

Glad I returned!

By Trup |

This was, I believe, my fourth visit to Sevilla, an old time Spanish NY restaurant. The entrees are decent sized portions and typically come with rice and either soup or salad. I had their garlic soup (rarely see this on a menu) which for garlic lovers is delicious followed by sole in green sauce (also lots of garlic). The fish was delicious! My friend and I shared a half carafe of house red wine which was surprisingly good too. When we arrived it was very noisy but we were lucky to get a booth at the far end of the restaurant where the noise level was certainly tolerable.

A great West Village option

By Cohen_Jack |

We had dinner Friday night with another couple, and loved it. The salads, though simple, were delicious; the mushroom appetizers excellent, and the paella hit the spot. That, combined with the warm atmosphere, the pitcher of white sangria and the fair prices made it a winner.

Disappointed

By Susan V |

My uncle, who grew up in the city and is now 88, recommended Sevilla to us long ago. We have been there numerous times. We always loved the atmosphere, the service, and the food. We were just in NYC on October 21st. We stopped here for dinner. I always had ordered their mussels as my entree. I could taste them before I even arrived that night. But, to my dismay, the food was not the same. My husband and I ordered some appetizers and the mussels. The food was mediocre at best. There is definitely someone new cooking here. We won't be back I am sad to say.

Totally old school!

By KWS63 |

Love this place, it's like going back in time! Awesome paella, mediocre pitchers of sangria ( I ask them not to put in sugar....they add about a cup to each pitcher). Great to go with a bunch of friends, get a number of dishes to share. Always too much food, it is a fun, lively place.

Friends Dinner

Wonderful Paella and wine!

By melisma39 |

We finally "discovered" this restaurant recently. I'm sorry it took us so long to eat here. We actually have a friend who lived nearby a few years ago. The restaurant is wonderfully old-world, neighborhoody, welcoming, and just plain good. The Paella is wonderful and so are the other items on the menu. The wine list is affordable. We didn't have the Sangria which is supposed to be very good. We're so glad we finally tried this restaurant, and we're looking forward to going back soon!

Teriffic

By john c |

Joined friends for dinner here this week. They have an expansive menu of delicious offerings at an affordable price for the NYC area. Service was a bit cool - certainly not warm and fuzzy but efficient. All four of us loved our choices, particularly the seafood items. We plan to return.

Bad experience

By Tour276619 |

Food is tasteless an price too high , service is not good : equipment for seafood was bring in the end of meal.we don’t understand how this place have 4 stars on TripAdvisor

Been here annually for years

By floshel |

We've dined here maybe 15 times over the past 15 years or so as it has always been our NYC favorite. Portions are large so we generally have share a paella and garlic chicken. This time the garlic chicken although was very good, had more bones than meat. Perhaps it was the luck of the draw but it was the first time I said..."next time, I'll try something else". Sangria is a favourite as well. Service has always been quick and friendly. Owner, who's quite friendly and professional, overseas everything.

It's been two years since my last review of Sevilla -- time to add updated comments!

By Trup |

I really like this place -- an old time NY restaurant -- great atmosphere, waiters in uniforms, people really enjoying themselves. My wife and I went for Fathers Day dinner and, fortunately, arrived before 6 pm because we beat the crowd that way. Love the garlic soup and the appetizer of mushrooms slathered with garlic even more! She ordered the fish with green sauce (was very happy with it) and I returned to my old favorite (veal with mushrooms). Prices are reasonable; service was a bit slow at times (but they had a full house so that was not a surprise) and the setting is terrific.

Avoid

By NigelCLondon |

This restaurant is resting on its laurels. An old man greeted us and then went back to his stool and promptly fell asleep in a noisy restaurant on a Saturday night. Time for retirement? Absolutely rubbish service. An old guy with a moustache hiding a surly grimace was greeted by the customers like a long lost uncle. You could see he hated this and you felt sorry for the customers who were so desperate to be recognised - probably the ones writing positive reviews here. The food was just about edible. Old school and not a reflection of the excellent food now produced in Spain. The waiting staff were incompetent. The service farcical. They were very good at talking to each other. At one point there were seven lounging about and chatting at the bar all with their backs to the customers. I had to get the barman to get their attention. When I complained to the waiter he said it was the fault of the mustachioed waiter as he was in charge. Clearly no-one was in charge neither the sleepy greeter nor the grumpy waiter. Our waiter advised that if you want service you need to raise your hand in the air until they deign to come to your table as this is the oldest Spanish restaurant in America - which I find hard to believe. Hopefully it won't be around for much longer and some of the bright new Spanish chefs will replace this lazy outdated and stereotypical version of Spanish cuisine.

Outstanding old standby

By pdclarry |

We went back to Sevilla recently. About 50 years after my first visit. Little has changed, and that's a good thing. The traditional Spanish menu is almost unchanged, the staff of multiple generations of family is mostly unchanged. We were greeted by a distinguished Maitre 'd who I'm pretty sure was clearing tables 50 years ago. And the food was as good today as it was 50 years ago. The staff is friendly and attentive. Sevilla's specialities, the Paellas and Mariscadas are among the best we have had anywhere, including in Spain. The house Sangria is still great. And the desserts are pretty much the same and just as good. Traditional flan, and orange sorbet served in a whole orange skin. We have visited Sevilla many times in the past 50 years, whenever we had cause to be in the West Village, and it has never disappointed.

A Great Go to in The Village for Spanish food

By M G |

Ok, Its a little noisey, sometimes lines out the door, It can get crowded, not a big bar, needs some renovations.............BUT, I have been going there for 43 years. i have probably eaten there at least twice a year for all that time. The food is great though and if you are nice to any waitstaff in any restaurant then they will be nice to you! We usually have the Paella, or lobster in green sauce and yes it is the ONLY place I wouold dare to get some of their wines or Sangria. It is what it is there and I am still going back. You will feel like a real New Yorker in the Village.

Authentic Sevila

By mrk88 |

Very nice restaurant in East Village. Authentically Spanish. Spanish equivalent of a good French brasserie. Food is very good and reasonably priced. Wonderful seafood. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend.

Appalling travesty of Spanish food

By Yvonne A |

This restaurant is vastly over priced for tasteless food that bears no resemblance to Spanish cuisine. Beware, this is a tourist trap, offering paella that is no more than unseasoned fried rice and a range of other dishes at eye watering prices. Four of us ate there. We sat down to be presented with a dish of stale bread accompanied by meagre packets of white fat posing as butter. Plated salads followed smothered in something resembling marie rose dressing. All of it must have been sitting on the pass for the previous hour. This place looks twinkly and inviting - don’t be taken in, it is a rip off.

The best Spanish food in Manhattan

By Lidia L |

If you want real Spanish food, go to Sevilla. I’ve been going there for about 40 years and am never disappointed. Try the Matiscada in green sauce as a main and the stuffed mushrooms and the shrimp ajillo as appies. My mouth is watering.

Saturday night in the village

By hightree |

Crowded and lively place, excellent meal, decently priced. It was packed and you should not want to dine in your bubble as you don’t get space to do so. Service is quick and efficient. Meals are nice and well flavoured. Big portions. Great alternative for the ‘usual’ NY resto’s.

Overrated, awful service, good ambiance, decent food.

By JRud1124 |

We made a reservation a week in advance. Upon walking in, an older gentleman greeted us and we told him we had a reservation. He shook his head, did not look at any book of reservations, and told us to "wait". Didn't tell us how long it would be. We waited 45 minutes to be seated! What was the point of reservations???? Not one waiter who came to our table (and we had many- not just one main one) said hello, how are you, how is the food, NOTHING. Embarrassing, if you ask me. They were clearly overwhelmed and did not have the staff to accommodate a busy Saturday night. The food: the garlic bread was tasty, the shrimp were rubbery, the sauce was good, the paella was decent, the lobster in the paella was not great, and we ALWAYS had empty water cups. Overall, a terrible experience and we were really sad because the reviews had been so great. Will not be back, that's for sure.

As good as you'll get in Spain

By David W |

Have been to this excellent traditional Spanish restaurant on various occasions. Sevilla never fails to impress and satisfy. It's in a lovely area of the West Village. Top notch food and service Great seafood, meats and soups. Went last week with an old friend after walking down the High Line. We had the Mariscada en Salsa Verde (seafood in green sauce) - served with yellow rice. Extremely generous portion for 2. It was so good that and we ended up asking for extra bread to mop up the delicious parsley and garlic sauce. Washed our meal down with an excellent giraffe of house white wine. My friend said he'd be telling his daughter about it, as she'd lived in Spain and is a big fan of Spanish food. We agreed that we'd be back soon. Great value for money.

Old time NY restaurant with excellent food; what's not to like?

By Trup |

I joined a friend for dinner recently -- he loved the fish with green sauce (he took my suggestion) and I salivated over my veal with mushrooms --- and we both loved the garlic soup (soup or salad come with each dinner entrée). The only downside is that this place gets noisy, especially on the weekends when it has a full house and a bunch of people waiting for a table. The ambience, though, is pleasant and the location in the West Village is only a 2-3 minute walk from the subway stop at Christopher/Sheridan Square. I eat there 3-4 times a year and will continue to do so!

Great as always

By Borjamerayo |

Been there since 1994 and I can say that everytime is great. Quality food, large portions, kind service. Keep it up Sevilla!

Old school Spanish

By Jimmy B |

As old school as it gets. You feel like you are in the 1950s NY. Noisy, crowded and festive scene. Food is ok, nothing memorable. Was probably awesome in 1965 but not up to today's top restaurant standards. Nevertheless, a fun night and would return just for the nostalgia and ambiance.

Time-Warp in all the Best Ways

By StorytellerGal |

Authentic old-school restaurant with wood paneled walls, worn brown leather booths, tuxedoed waiters, 60+ year old bartenders who are living cocktail encyclopedias, and a white-haired owner wears a sharp suit and stops by every table to see how you enjoyed your meal. On top of the movie-set atmosphere, the Paella a la Valenciana is AMAZING. Served in a cast iron skillet and topped with a half lobster and filled to the brim with smokey rice, clams, scallops, sausage and chicken. My only regret is I couldn't finish it all.

Wonderful

By Reviewer 4 |

We first ate here 30 years ago and the food was amazing. We returned today and the food was amazing. We started with delicious sangria and warm bread. Then We had paella with seafood and chicken with red wine. All dishes are served with a salad and yellow rice. The food was fantastic. Portions are huge. The service was prompt and professional. Dinner for 2 was $78 and we have doggie bags for tomorrow. I will definitely eat here again

Pescatarians eat well here!

By scott b |

Started with a pitcher of sangria, garlic bread, sauteed mushrooms, and asparagus. This was followed by gazpacho and house salads. Perfect start to the meal. We ordered 2 vegetarian paella (generous portions) and three fish dishes (swordfish cooked to perfection, one lemon sole, and one sole in a delicious green sauce). The service slowed considerably as the restaurant filled up; we made a 6:30pm reservation and timed it perfectly. I lived in NYC for years and never knew of this old establishment. A shout out to my friend Marty who insisted I go there, his "favorite dining place" in NYC. We really enjoyed the appetizers, meal, ambience, and the spirits.

Spanish food in a sea of other ethnic food options

By George_Macke |

This small restaurant in Greenwich Village was recommended by a local. Five of us shared two Paella and Sangria. The wait staff was friendly, although I was distracted by the small space for tables and booths. It seemed too cramped for my Texas preference for lots of room. This definitely felt like a family restaurant, but we were not sure about the authenticity on the Paella. On another visit, and we would probably come back given the opportunity, we would probably try something else.

Great Spanish food

By paul |

Sevilla has been in New York for many years and the reason is due to having consistently providing great food and service. The paella with seafood is wonderful, the sangria is great and the flan too. Since it was my and my wife’s birthday, the servers brought flan with birthday candles and the guitarist sang happy birthday. It was a great experience.

Wonderful place for a festive dinner

By Raynfernando |

Five of us met there for dinner recently, one of us on a walker, and were seated within a very short time. (They do not take reservations.) The place was packed but runs like a well oiled machine.in the hands of the maitre'd who is efficient, brusque and has been there forever. With pitchers of white sangria and hugs appetizer platters to start, we all enjoyed a feast of Spanish food, mostly seafood in our case that was fantastic. Great service, great food, fun atmosphere. My only complaint was that my salt cod stew was much saltier than I expected. Amust do in the village.

We were Scammed!

By Sara R |

Food, service were good. However, we were SCAMMED. We figured out the bill and left more than a 20% tip. On our way out, the waiter said we only left a 10% tip. We know how to count. We counted the cash several times to make sure. Upon reading other reviews, this has happened a few times at this restaurant. We just wanted to leave so we gave them extra money. NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS RESTAURANT. There are plenty other Spanish restaurants that the food is good and they don't scam you. All the help is in on it. When we tried to call and speak to manager, they hung up on us. BEWARE!

OK, but not to return

By Zickzock |

Supposed to be Spanish...vaguely. Portions are large, so no problem there but the preparation is a bit casual, some too salty, some almost tasteless. So, nothing to write home about. Or to return.

Lovely venue, lost the food luster

By Colleen Q |

Some NY, long-time Soho residents, recommended Sevilla out of long time association with this restaurant. The staff were wonderful, the seating seemingly out of nowhere when the place was packed on a Sunday night. The greeter was ever so pleasant and sweet, he asked us where we wanted to sit when there were only two choices in the house. The wait staff is impeccably dressed and are so respectful of the clientele. I really felt like I was in an old-time-old-school establishment. Super nice for this day and age. When we left, the greeter shook my hand and thanked me whole-heatedly... when I took his hand in both of mine, he kissed me respectfully on both cheeks and stated something that I did not understand fully but sounded like "thank you, really..." The red sangria is TOTALLY worth the pitcher price. If you have two or three people, get a pitcher. It is so fresh and refreshing. even when it's cool outside! I truly believe the heart is in this place. It's a neighborhood icon. I have heard of young folks eating here in the last 2 - 5 years who sing it's praises. Unfortunately, the meal I had was uninspiring. The salad is actually SUPER fresh but it's iceberg lettuce and sweet home made french vinaigrette. I seriously wanted to hate this salad... and i ate the whole thing, it was so fresh and so crisp and really, the dressing was good. Nothing special, but it was a pleasing salad! The bread they serve with the meal is unmemorable and a little too puffy in the middle. The crispy outside simply crashes in on itself when you try and break it apart. We ordered the seafood and lobster Paella Marinera. When two people order the same dish, it comes out community style and they serve it on two plates (with lots left overs by the way). The waiter scoops some of the Paella rice onto the plate and then proceeds to layer Paella cooked seafood onto the rice. There are no sides. There's no Marinera sauce on the side, there's no clarified butter for your lobster, clams, scallops, shrimps.... they are on their own. So, you'd expect that they'd hold their flavor on their own because of the way they were cooked in the sauce. Nope. This place is lovely, and the crowd is obviously old and new... so it's not a total establishment place that's lost it's luster. I feel like I must have been there on an "off" night. So, based on the reviews of past, and the personal recommendations that came to me, I am going to have to give this place another try. Great experience. Under performing food. But, I will try it again, and then give another review!

not as good as I remember, service is awful.

By LizCNJ |

I've been going to Sevilla for over thirty years, but had not been there in about 3 years. I was meeting a friend for a very early dinner (5PM on a weeknight) but she was running a few minutes late. The place was mostly empty but the elderly waiter was extremely rude, and would not allow me to sit to wait for my friend. His manner was very gruff and he just pointed to where I should stand, next to the bar, barely speaking to me. He kept ignoring me even after my friend had arrived, and seemed annoyed when we asked to be seated. I can understand making sure everyone in a party has arrived before seating tables, but in this case there really were many empty tables. And once my party had arrived we had to nudge the waiter to get a table. The food (arroz con pollo) was extremely salty, almost to the point of being inedible. The sangria was so-so. This was once one of my favorite restaurants in NYC, but I won't be going back.

Old World charm & reasonable prices

By WindsorTudor |

Sevilla opened in 1941, & seems almost frozen in time (in a good way). The decor & waiters' uniforms have an air of formality in a welcoming, gracious sense. While I'm not an expert on cuisine from Spain, my chicken & rice dish was superb, & a friend who has traveled extensively in the country (as well as South America) raved about the paella. The portions are immense, & the prices remarkably reasonable (entrees average from $18 to $25).

Rudest bar tender

By FNANY |

I rarely put very bad reviews but this was is well deserved. We went there for a drink and tapas around 5pm. Sat at the bar and waited 10mn. The bartender looked at us and ... nothing. Did not seem to care. We called for his attention twice, no response and the place was not even busy. Bad service and the place smells fried chorizo.

Delicious Spanish Food

By Jermaine W |

This is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants in Manhattan. The staff was great. The food was delicious and the price was fair. Very cozy atmosphere. I recommend getting there before 6 o'clock, it gets real busy. Will go back in the near future. Highly recommended.

Really nice traditional Spanish restaurant

By Stewzx9r |

Really enjoyed the experience in Sevilla, good food, very nice atmosphere, enjoyed the sangria and all at a fair price, will definitely go back.

Authentic Spot

By Jeremy T |

SEVILLA is one of my go to restaurants in the city. It's a restaurant I like to go to again and again. The owners have been running this place for decades and are still there overseeing the dining room and making sure everything is up to their high standards. There are a few dishes I like here. Shrimp with green sauce is one of my favorites, and the broiled lobster even though it's not a typical Spanish dish, the way they prepare it is in keeping with Spanish style cuisine. I always ask for Papas Fritas (French fries their way) The main dishes come with your choice of soup or salad, and rice. We always share a large red sangria, and Flan for dessert. I like to finish with some cappuccino. We always have had excellent service. I enjoy the feel of the place, the atmosphere, as well as their patrons, always an interesting group. Reasonable prices. No reservations. A fun place, I am sure I will be back soon!

Old world charm with authentic Spanish flavors

By The Bean's Talk |

Besides delicious food, this restaurant offers an intimate dining experience. Perhaps it was because we were seated in a cozy booth at the back of the restaurant, but the evening was enjoyable from start to finish. We shared paella and a pitcher of sangria after yummy shrimp appetizers. Bread is addictive. The staff is polite, prompt and helped with selections as this was our first visit. I am definitely coming back.

Unbelievabley terrible

I can’t understand how anyone would come back to this place This has nothing Spanish apart from name It has 6-8 Mexican waiters who seem like they want to rob you of tips Food was sad and probably worst I ever had we travel a lot and are quite knowledgable but I don’t understand how anyone would rate this food Waiters charged my card with tips and even when I argued they still insisted it was right for them to do so “ as it is New York and they deserve tips “ unbevelable now I understand why Trump wants to send them back ! I will be ringing owner who was hiding downstairs that old man and I will be speaking to him tomorrow and also will be checking and cancelling my credit card due to strange behaviour and fraud that happend tonight

Worst Service Ever - I was very disappointed

By Denise W |

Celebrated a 50th birthday here. While the food was very good the service and inattention to detail was inexcusable. My party of eight did not have our appetizer plates cleared before the main meal. The waiter spent most of the time attending to a Spanish speaking couple next to us. We are black so I guess my money wasn't green enough. Took a long time to check the table or refill waters. The required 20% gratuity was not deserved. Requested to speak to the manager was told he was busy dining with friends. I really expected better. Will not be back.

Timeless, and always enjoyable.

A piece of what's left of old NY. I've been coming her from time to time over the last decade. Considering that the restaurant opened in 1941, I haven't been a patron for all that long. Nothing has changed -- not the vested waiters, the cocktails, the flavorful, garlic pollo ajillo, pulpo Gallego or the shrimp. The atmosphere is also the same -- dim lighting, 70s paintings. And I love it for its constancy. Order a cocktail if you're feeling old school, or stick to the sangria.

fantastic reviwe

great food, great ambient and fantastic service and prices. Is really a great experience have a wonderful dinner in this honorable restaurant.

Great little place

By Lisa-who-travels |

Great evening here last night with our cousin Sheila. Sheila lives in the village and has been going here every Friday for many years. The service by wonderful staff was quick and efficient. They were very warm and friendly. The food is tasty and of a high standard. We will return when we are next in town.

Returning After 30 Years...Still a Hit!

By IraW_11 |

Had not been back since living in the Village. A colleague recommended we go on our next visit to NYC. It looked the same. Same village restaurant dated back to the 40s. Food was very good. Wine the same. Service excellent. Prices higher then they were! Overall a nice return and glad to know it has staying power

Wow

By Edwin A |

This place is small and a bit loud. But the food is out of this world. The seafood paella is by far the very best meal I have ever had. Absolutely delicious. The made to order red sangria completes the dinning experience. A must for a great dinner in NYC.

Great Meal

By Andrew G |

We ate here on 8 September 2019. Really enjoyed our food, though portions very big by UK standards and we couldn't finish main course. Fantastic service, and nice atmosphere.

Lots of Fun!

By Grant R |

OK, don't expect the most exquisite food in NY but it sure is fun. Super old school with bustling waiters (who aren't afraid to bump into you to get the next table), a gracious friendly host and a great neighborhood. Great place for a casual birthday or just a fun night out. Super casual and not expensive. Nice!

Excellent choice

By tnvtz |

Wonderful sea food / tapas bar restaurant. The mussels in garlic sauce are fabulous . The mixed sea food over rice is a treat . Portions are big enough to share . All choices are of high quality.

Salt as main ingredient

By BrooklynMagnolia |

Came early for our reservation but they “made it work” by putting our party of 4 in a table for 3. I ended up having to sit sideways pressed against an edge of a column. The Table was so crowded with the dishes when the entree came that we put the bread basket on the narrow windowsill and gave our breadplates to the waiter. No sooner had we sat down then the waiter asked if we wanted a drink. I asked to see the drink menu first. Then I wanted wine by the glass: the menu my choice was red or white. I asked about red sangria by the glass—the pitcher was a better value pricewise. Except the sangria was so sweet one glass each was definitely enough. Our friends sat down a few minutes after we arrived and immediately we were asked for our main meal order. We waved the waiter off til we had all taken off our jackets and looked at the menu—but then he didn’t come back til we flagged him down. The appetizer —pathetic looking and tough white asparagus drenched in salty oil —took forever to arrive. And dinner took much longer still. One of Our party couldn’t sit that long so had to stand up. He was so frustrated that he gave them 5 more minutes...luckily dinner arrived. The portions were large. The rice was dry and a frightening shade of brown—especially as it was supposed to be white rice. As for the main course—If you like mouth drying saltiness as your main flavor this is the place for you! Shrimp creole was my dish-so salty I couldn’t tell what other flavors were involved. I couldn’t eat it—and I didn’t. LDH had scallops in a cream sauce that was—salty. If i had to guess they overthickened the sauce with corn starch and buried the taste with salt. Scallops were chewy. Friend with a chicken dish said it was salty too but she isn’t as sensitive as i am about it. Her husband gad shrimp with green sauce. He said there was a lot of garlic so he thought his dish didn’t taste salty to him but he sure drank a lot of water. It wasn’t the kind of thing you could turn back because there was an accidental oversalting— this is just how thus food is cooked. And i am sure there are plenty of people who don’t even notice when a chef substitutes salt for an ability to combine delicious flavors appropriately. I am not one of these and i will not be back.

Excellent Paella

By thaddeusl2016 |

We started with cuttlefish and garlic prawns, served with warm bread and initially washed down with a Spanish beer then a jug of sangria, followed by an excellent paella Valenciana, brimful with chicken and sea food and accompanied by a lobster.(okay,we were on holiday!) The maitre d is from Galicia and we had a nice chat about Spain and a man that I presume to be the owner did the rounds, gladhanding clients and chatting to regulars in Spanish. The place was full on a Monday night and the vibe was good. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was properly and authentically cooked and the atmosphere.

Good restaurant in the village

By Yollie2014 |

Good food , great atmosphere, local residents are dining there which is it an indicator that is not a tourist tramp . Family friendly

Great tapas in the Village

By prm78 |

Saturday night seemed challenging to get a table, but we were lucky - a couple left from a table by the window, so we had a great location. Ordered some rioja wine, and after a quick perusal of the tapas menu soon had a plate of jamon serrano with olives .Followed that up with the stuffed mushrooms, pulpo al ajillo and gambas al ajillo. All perfectly cooked, and as close to real Spanish style as you could hope for. And with plenty of bread, an essential tapas accompaniment. Finished up with the tarta de santiago ... maybe a bit less dry than in Spain, but probably all the better for that. Good service, good value .. highly recommended.

Where not to go.

By Philip D |

We were recommended to this restaurant in Greenwich Village,by the hotel and at first impressions were good. A bustling place obviously popular with the locals. We booked ,the four of us, for 7.30 but by 8.30 we were getting tetchy. When we did get seated we were served by a waiter who threw every thing we had been told about "service in NY" into the bin.Its the first restaurant I have ever been in where the wine came after the first course had been served. We laughed so much because we simply could not believe how appalling the service was. The food fared little better, tasty, was about the best description we could offer. Perhaps it is better when it is quieter.definitely not to be recommended.

Good Spanish Restaurant

By TheFarkman |

The food was very good. A friend recommended the restaurant and we were not disappointed. It was a bit of an expensive lunch, but a nice treat.

Nice Dinner

By MJK418 |

Veal was superb in this old-line, classic eatery. We kind of stumbled upon this place and were glad we returned for dinner.

Really good paella in a neighborhood restaurant.

By Balboagal |

This is a casual neighborhood place known for its paella. Food and sangria are very good. The atmosphere is friendly, leisurely, and laid back so if you're in a hurry or expect to be seated on the dot of your reservation, go elsewhere. We go every time we're in New York, so I am a fan. Don't think it would suit families or kids, at least for dinner.

BETTER THAN BEING ABROAD IN SPAIN

By Bob H |

Real authentic spanish cuisine. Paella Valancia, Shrimp in Green Sauce & Shrimp Creole were all so-so tasty. House carafe of merlot was dry & delicious. Bean Soup & Garlic Soup to die for. Service was excellent.

Here I go again!!!

This place is "ESPECTACULAR"!!! C'est Magnifique!!! Once a friend and I stopped by for dinner but it was closed, and today at work, in an informal conversation with a customer regarding my 4th Anniversary at a giant business, he highly recommended a restaurant and I was shocked to see the name in the business card he took out from his wallet " I have been going there for over 35 years..." Same place I wanted to try a while ago. A coincidence??? Nope! My Mom 🙏 used to say: "Coincidences do not exist, those are revelations". Yes, I had a very special occasion and I had to treat myself as I always do! Lovely! Short walk from Christopher St-Sheridan Sq subway station (1 Train red line). Great ambiance, nice Spanish playlist, Paloma San Basilio's "Libre", among others, welcoming Owners, fast service, professional and kind staff, Juan Carlos and Jesus, and everybody had warm and professional personalities. i started "digging in" my fresh and tasty complementary bread basket, a "must have" with butter 🙃 I ordered a Piña Colada, Cod Fish Empanadillas, Caldo Gallego (I forgot to include it in my Google review), and Veal with sautéed mushrooms in red wine sauce, it comes with green salad and rice served separately. No room for rice pudding, Tarta de Santiago, and Spanish coffee, great excuse to go back soon! Kudos to you all, you have a lovely place, great service, and awesome food!!! 💕

Horrible Service Takes Away From the Good Food

By luvthepalms |

First visit here on a Saturday night; completely agree with other TripAdvisor reviews that the service here just isn't good. The food was good and the sangria was awesome but there is no consistency with service and wait staff. You have more than one waiter working your table so it's quite confusing. We asked one waiter for his opinion on their best dishes and he really didn't know. We waited a long time between getting our appetizers and dinner. After dinner no one came and our table was never cleaned so we just sat there trying to get someone's attention to order dessert. After dessert, still no waiter and we had to track someone down to get our check. Total lack of service here.

Great place to eat

By Lincoln117 |

We stopped in and had a good meal, not real tasty however. To our surprise a wandering minstrel stopped in and sang Spanish and Italian songs.

Olde School Spanish - the '50s are calling

By cootmom |

The oddest throwback in the prettiest setting - Charles St in the West Village is like a block out of a movie, and I figure that Sevilla has been there since the Spanish-American War, at least. Very crowded bar and room, with very pleasant servers doing their best under pretty insane conditions. The tapas/small plates craze has not penetrated Sevilla. The waiters wear those little maroon jackets and little black bow ties, poor things. For beers, the menu has "domestic" and "imported". That's it! For wine by the glass, "house red" and "house white" - though I must admit that the white was really good - I should have asked what it was. We had arroz con pollo and a veggie paella, both way too salty but tasty, and enormous portions. Skipped dessert. I'd only come back to show the curious what people thought was exotic in the wayback. Not horrible by any means, but jeez, it's New York! Update or remain frozen in the past.

Great

By Rod8888 |

Best Spanish restaurant in NYC. Same employees for the past 10 years. A must visit if you like Spanish. The environment was a great flair of Spain.

great little spot for Spanish in the village

By Robert Y |

We were visiting from the San Francisco Bay Area, and my brother recommended this charming little place. We had a late dinner on a Sunday night. They must be doing something right because they've been around for over a 100 years. We had the wonderful Sangria to drink, and we had the shrimp with green sauce to eat. It was very good, we had a lovely meal. I would definitely return. We also loved the soups.

Consistently Good!

By SuzyQu15 |

We have been coming to Sevilla for many years, and it never disappoints. Their red sangria is the best we have had, and is reasonably priced. Some of the waitstaff has been there for several years, and we are always greeted with a friendly hello. The veal or chicken in almond sauce is great, as is the mariscada in green sauce. Atmosphere is cozy, reminiscent of old school New York. Parking is on the street in a lovely part of Greenwich Village. One of our favorite NYC Spanish restaurants! Highly recommend!!

Amazing Sangria!

By rrodeo |

Old school Spanish food. Excellent and tasty food, huge portions, friendly but slow service. The Sangria was amazing! Can’t wait to return.

A nice find

By Jimmy B |

We travel to New York frequently and are always interested in finding restaurants we haven't tried before. On our most recent trip we made reservations for dinner at Sevilla Restaurant in the West Village and had a great experience. The restaurant has been in its location for over 60 years and had a warm and welcoming feel from the time we walked in the door. The owner, from Galicia in Spain, welcomed us with a genuine smile, checked with us during the meal and made a point of thanking us for coming when we left. The garlic shrimp and the arroz con pollo were delicious and the portion size was impressively large and served so we could share each other's selections. The service was efficient and unobtrusive and the entire experience was delightful. Sevilla was a nice find for us and we recommend it to lovers of good food and an intimate atmosphere. Long time neighborhood favorite.

By NYC CowGirl |

Friendly and warm atmosphere! Service oriented and special requests are not a problem. Grilled chorizo, amazing garlic soup and paellas for all. The bartender makes the perfect martini and the house sangria's are so refreshing. I generally do not use salad dressings but here I really enjoy the house blend. Personal favorite is clams in green sauce.

Excellent Spanish Seafood and Sangria

By Discerning222 |

I have been dining here for 30 years. The food never changes. The Paella is the best in New York...the sangria too. The mariscada with green or garlic sauce is fresh and mouth watering. The accompanying salad with house dressing is a great meal starter. I keep on trying other Spanish restaurants in the City but none have come close in quality or satisfaction.

Bad experience

By Julia I |

It was a lovely friends reunion night out. We were nearby waiting for a table at another restaurant so we decided to come in for a drink. It was a bad experience. For a while a bartender didn't pay attention at us at all. When we finally were noticed and tried to order drinks he behaved as if we were not welcomed there. He was kind of rude. Of course it didn't spoil our night, but I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Semi authentic...

By Lola M |

Went for dinner with friends and had a great evening. The place is cozy and has "typical" Spanish details all over, it was a bit hot and the air conditioner did not seem to be doing it's job... It has true Spanish food such as pollo villaroy, grilled octopus, croquettes, empanadillas or piquillo peppers, the sides were not so spanish tho...overall great experience. Will be back :)

For An Old School Vibe

By Gabriel Barab |

An old school establishment, down to the very floorboards. The paella is plentiful and they keep the sangria flowing. It's a classic joint not just in terms of service and aesthetic but flavors too, which is to say, it's neither authentic nor contemporary. The food doesn't wow me. But when you combine all the elements, it's a pleasant and worthwhile way to experience the restaurant scene of yore. All in all, I recommend coming here not to sample the authentic flavors of Spain but to viscerally experience the charms of an old New York establishment.

Dinner with Friends

By bregeenc |

Came to this place on a recommendation. The staff where so so lovely and dressed to impress. The atmosphere and style was perfect, lovely booths throughout. Drinks are responsibly priced and portions are big. This restaurant has really good ratings for food, but the four of us thought the food was pretty average. I had the paella and it was dry, which wasn't to my tasting. We had left a 25% tip (cash & cards) as the staff where lovely. The waiter asked us was the food not good enough, he expected more tip. We where all in shock!

Fantastic Food, Transported to Spain!

By Mitchell K |

Sevilla has a beautiful decor and feels like you are in the heart of Spain. Food is excellent. Big portions and very tasty. Really enjoyed the chorizo and paella. But you can't go wrong, and they have a big menu. It's very authentic (I've traveled to Spain numerous times) The service is excellent.

Quaint old-school feel, fun, busy place, but food is over-rated.

By Andrew W |

My family of 5 went for dinner at Sevilla on January 12th 2019. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived at 5:30 and it only became more busy throughout the night. It's in a great location in Greenwich Village and has an old-school vibe. They completely pack the restaurant and it's fun to watch the waiters juggle all of those plates as they contort their bodies getting around the tables/patrons. It's definitely a fun place for a small group or good for a date. But, now for the food, which is highly over-rated....it is good, but in no way great! We began with sangria and 3 appetizers. The sangria is strong, but quite mediocre - tastes like red wine with fruit, not like a traditional sangria. We had the mussels in red sauce, which were very good and then empanadas (tasted like from Costco and heated up) and a cheese platter with olives. My son and I ordered the chicken villory. I have had this dish many times during my lifetime and this was pre-made and just ok. This dish takes a while to make and it came out too fast - both my wife and I said it had to be pre-made. The portion was small and it tasted just meh (btw, the best chicken villaroy I can find now in the vicinity is at El Parral in Syosset, LI. If anyone beats it in NYC, please let me know. Too bad Malaga closed due to DOH issues!). The shrimp and green sauce and seafood paella my wife and daughter ordered was definitely good, but also not the best we've had. My other son ordered a chicken and rice dish, which was good as well. Overall this is a fun, busy restaurant that it exciting to eat at, but there is better Spanish food in NYC and this place is a bit over-rated imo.

Old School Fun!

By Gary M |

My wife, adult son, and I were looking for a place to eat in the Village after a long day of conferences and touring. We were starving, it was late and blazingly hot. We had been sent in the direction of Mary's Fish Camp but they were totally booked and there was no AC...thought we would pass out if we stayed. Looked across the street at this wonderful, old-school-style restaurant that reminded me of the trattoria in Italy (though this is a Spanish restaurant). Maitre D wa able to get us a table on the fly, despite the place just jamming, and was unequivocal in his recommendations for food and libations. And, I might add, he knew what he was talking about. According to him, the restaurant has been there for 75 years and it just has that old world charm with waiters with long white aprons and just a general buzz of a happening kind of place. Ay caramba...best red wine sangria that I have had in years...don't kid yourself, just get a pitcher and be done with it! Then the Mariscada in Green Sauce with Mixed Seafood and Lobster....hoo boy. While prices look expensive, the quantities are unbelievable and we could not even come close to finishing the two dishes we ordered (and we eat a lot)! Any of the Mariscada can feed multiple people or easily serve as the gift that keeps on giving for leftovers. The place had such a fun feel. I have read some negative reviews on this place but, frankly, that was not our experience...we were made to feel like family and the food was both plentiful and very flavorful...will definitely go back! On item I would not order is the octopus appetizer...it just was not even close to the level of quality of the Mariscadas...don't waste stomach space. BTW - thanks again to Sevilla and the Owner/Maitre d for such a warm greeting and such wonderful service and food!

Great spanish food and atmosphere

we had seven or eight different starters and small spanish dishes and they where all authentic and tasted great. Good and extensive wine list and great decor.

The BEST in NYC

By Wesley W |

I have been going here for 30 years and I never wrote a review of my favorite restaurant. I've been to other Spanish restaurants and this is the BEST by far! The paella, veal chops, stuffed mushrooms with crab meat with garlic and olive oil is to die for. One of my favorites is the broiled lobster tails. The BEST I've ever had. I love the sangria and always the first thing you should order as you sit down. The owner is always there and so sweet and pleasant. Some of the waiters been there for 45 years. My favorite place to bring my friends visiting or recommend to tourist and NY'ers alike. 5 YUMMY STARS!

Delicious paella and sangria

By Holly_B |

My teen daughter and I came here in between shows by taking the subway to/from the theater district. We had THE best dinner. The paella with lobster and garlic chicken were both delicious and piping hot. Loved the sangria too. Can’t wait to go back!

Dollar for dollar the best restaurant in NYC

By roosterlaw |

I recently went to Sevilla Restaurant on the corner of Charles and West 4th Streets, and so this prompted me to issue this review. I have been going here for some 50 years and have never had a bad meal. The food is always excellent and by New York City standards fairly priced. The decor, which has barely changed since I first started going there, can only be called Damon Runyonesque, which is part of its charm. The only draw back, is that they don't take reservations, and for the reasons cited, this is always a very popular place for dinner, so there is frequently a wait to be seated, but it is worth the wait.

The Birthday Celebration came in 2nd after Sevilla Restaurant & Bar came in 1st

By Musiclover869 |

The ten of our family from New Jersey and Long Island needed a place in New York City to celebrate 3 March birthdays. My daughter who remembered Sevilla Restaurant & Bar made the reservation. All I can say is that the entire evening, the delicious food, especially the Shrimps in Garlic Sauce and the Lobster and Shrimp Paella, the Sangria and the service was excellent and I had one of the best times I have ever had. The friendliness of the restaurant showed up when everyone there sang Happy Birthday to our celebrants.

Great Paella and Shrimp Diablo

By LovingLife39 |

Food was excellent. Restaurant is located in the Village section of the city, an LGBTQ friendly area. The restaurant is very romantic, well staffed, and very old school. The sangria is so wonderful. Best I've had in a long time. My friend ordered the paella (she's been a few times), and I ordered the shrimp diablo. Both dishes were great. Large portions and food is prepared to order. It's a small venue, and fills fast in the evening. Wonderful Spanish restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. Prices are mid range.

Expected more from a "true Spanish" restaurant

By Cohibaba |

Went with friends - the atmosphere is warm and inviting with a bar and many tables arranged haphazardly (yet organized) amongst patrons and staff. Very busy, so staff was short but still accommodating. The sangria was good. Appetizers of calamari and croquettes were ok. The cod fish was really good. The paella was a big disappointment - not much flavor, cooked in a small crock-pot (huh?) and wasn't tasty. The rice was somewhat bland - and certainly no saffron used in the spices... Disappointing to me. But the friends and conversation were the real stars of the evening.

A hidden gem!

By ChristinaV866 |

I visited the Sevilla with friends on November 3rd, 2016, and we were blown away by the food and especially the service! We were 20 minutes late arriving to the restaurant, and we're delighted to see that they had HELD OUR RESERVATION (which was for 8pm) on a Saturday night in New York City. The owner was so warm and welcoming, and it felt like we were visiting family for dinner. We ordered almost every appetizer on the menu + the paella + the scallops, and everything was delicious (homemade sangria is a must!). The price is also on point, we were 5 girls and spent $40 each including tax and tip. I can't recommend this place enough, the atmosphere and service really set it apart. As we were leaving the owner gave us each a big hug and asked us to come back. ❤️!

Still tasty after all these years

By SNG56 |

I must have started coming here back in the late 70s. I remember pitchers of sangria and pots full of seafood. I moved away about 10 years ago. On a recent trip to NY, I decided to go back and try it again. It's almost as if time had stood still, nothing seemed to have changed and it was as I remembered. We went early on a Sunday evening, around 5:30 so there were plenty of tables available. Ordered a mushroom starter and then we split an order of shrimp in green sauce. There is a sharing charge but you do get an extra salad so that was nice. A pitcher of white sangria went down (too) easily. Good bread to sop up the sauce. Food and service were excellent. The place was hopping when we left.

Sevilla Re-Opens; Garlic Lovers Rejoice

By MisterMetroNYC |

Food & drink as fantastic as ever at this West Village institution. A MUST for garlic lovers. Well worth the wait for a table on the street. Shrimps Ajillo, Mariscada in Green Sauce, garlic bread and white sangria were all excellent. So glad to have Sevilla reopened during COVID. Hope to visit often now that I live just a few blocks away.

Delicious paella & sangria

By Doug D |

45 year old establishment for a reason. Every trip to NYC we have to get our fix. No better paella anywhere. Great service, staff & owner is extremely amiable. Just writing this makes me want to go back.

Excellent Spanish food

By jogger2 |

This is a very good restaurant with a friendly and courteous staff. The food is very good and the entree portions are way more than enough particularly if you have already enjoyed some of the wonderful tapas.

Appalling service

By Deborah carlton |

We visited as a group of 4. Ordered starters and main course which at best can be described as "OK". We hadn't even finished our starters before the main course was brought out, food was edible but that is the only way to describe it. The waiters couldn't wait to get rid of us but had also spent the time that we were there glaring at another group finishing their meal. Would I go there again, not a chance. Would rather go to McDonald's!!!

Birthday dinner

By VivaLaVidaNJ |

We've been here quite a few times. Must get a pitcher of Sangria. Red and white are both delicious. We always order the Shrimp Ajilo and the broiled Spanish sausage. The paella feeds more than 2 people. The veal with white sauce is really good too. The food here is delicious but is very salty and has lots of garlic. This place is very crowded and decor is very old.

Dynamic Atmosphere and Food

Last there over 40 years ago as a college student. Looks the same, smells the same, same old waiters! Had a wonderful time in an inviting atmosphere and solid food; even though crowded, were not rushed at all. High standards and warm inviting greeting keeps the place packed after all these years.

A little bit of Spain in NYC

By Travelpro1107 |

We took a taxi from midtown to Charles Street because we liked Sevilla’s menu on line. Our grandparents were from Spain so we are familiar with many Spanish dishes. We were not disappointed in any way. We enjoyed everything about our visit to this restaurant. The ambiance was comfortable and friendly with dark wood paneling and soft lighting. We ordered the Caldo Gallego soup which was very good. Not quite as good as my moms but it was definitely very good. The paella was delicious! Absolutely wonderful. Generous amount of lobster, shrimp, mussels, clams, chicken and chorizo. Paella was for 2 people but could easily have served 3. The waiters were friendly, professional and very helpful navigating the menu. We are already planning on a return visit soon.

Simply Spectacular

By rob g |

When in NYC, Greenwich Village you must head straight to Sevilla. No need to go to Newark when you have the best Paella and Masicadas anywhere n Manhattan. In addition, the drinks were plentiful and the service was perfect. I highly recommend, a must.

Best Last Minute dinner experience in NYC

By Paula B |

Above and beyond the best service I had in NYC. It was a last minute decision to come to Sevilla and we were not disappointed. Everyone was so friendly and fast! The ambiance is a 10 out of 10 - cozy and comfortable!!! I would recommend it in a heartbeat…. Must try the octopus appetizer - made to perfection and soooo tasty!

West Village Mainstay!

By SuzyQu15 |

There is a reason that Sevilla has been in business for more than fifty years, and that is that the food never disappoints. Every item in this creative Spanish restaurant is fresh and delicious. The homemade sangria, red or white, is fabulous and reasonably priced. Veal or chicken in almond sauce and seafood in green sauce cannot be beat, they are two of my favorites. Service is good, and parking is on the street in the charming West Village.

Great Experience

By Jeff C |

If you are looking for an authentic Spanish meal and experience this is the place! I was there recently with a friend from Spain who highly recommended the place. The Paella a la Valenciana was exactly like what I experienced while living in Spain. Fresh seafood and vegetable with just the right amount of saffron rice. The sangria is also excellent. We also had great service. We had to wait a few minutes for a table but it was worth it. I highly recommend.

Wonderful for paella lovers, super delicious and generous portions

By conananrealest |

This restaurant is passionately old school, but wonderful! Waiters in tuxedos and attentive. Paella exceptional, fish dishes awesome and everything else worth the visit! No reservations, be expected to wait. One of the best Spanish restaurants in NYC!

loved it from the second I walked in!

My husband had been to Sevilla with a friend earlier in the year. When we returned to New York with the family in August this summer he wanted to take us here. He said we would love it and he was right! I had called earlier the day before we had planned to go to make a reservation. I asked for a table for 4 at 7pm. The lovely gentleman who answered the phone said "Yes, we will make room for you." When we arrived the restaurant was not full. We were seated in a booth with red leather seats and the whole place gave off this old school vibe. The servers were all men in uniform - vests, ties and crisp white shirts. The tablecloths were red and white checkered and the glasses, dishes and cutlery were well loved. There was no computer in the place - orders were taken by hand, handed into the kitchen and then the bill was tabulated manually. This is a Spanish restaurant that is known for its seafood. We started with shrimp ajillo, mussels marinara, garlic mushrooms and croquetas. As a main we shared the seafood paella. Lobster, scallops, mussels and clams with a tasty broth and rice......Absolutely delish! everything was brought out in pots and was all meant to be shared. We also ordered a litre of wine - it was their house red and at only $35 for the carafe it was a steal as it was so good. The food here is amazing, the atmosphere old school and proper. We had no issues. We ate like kings and I would not hesitate to go back. The owner came by to find out how we were enjoying everything and wanted to make sure that the kids were loving their meals. We assured him that is was all lovely! As he said thank you and went ovewr to the next table did I realize that her was the lovely gentleman who had answered the phone earlier....he definitely had made room for us!!

Sevilla is one of my favorites anywhere

By SteveMoscarelli |

Sevilla is a great Gallego restaurant. Sevilla is a fun experience with excellent paella (vegetarian, lobster, chorizo and more) in pots not traditional paellla pans. I order the white asparagus, manchego cheese, jamon iberico, tortilla and flan, usually. Chicken Extramena is an good choice too. This is not a tapas bar this is pan-Spain glory.

Delicious Spanish Food

By Ray55 |

What a charming restaurant. Nice bar, wood paneled and homey. The sangria is some of the best I've ever had. Three of us had 1.5 pitchers. Yum. The Arroz con pollo was delicious. For desert we had sliced mango with cream cheese. Amazing. Can't wait to go back.

First time here came to this

By frequenttravler20 |

First time here came to this place was 25 years ago. I took my family for dinner last night. A fairly small place that is old and have uncomfortable chairs. However, you’re coming for food here. The best paella in town for sure. A fast service and everything I ordered was just fantastic. Nothing has changed in 25 years!! I love this place

Perfectly fine and average

By Micinic |

What's nice about this spanish restaurant is that it's been in the same family for generations, and the decor is very warm. The food is not above average though, and the portion sizes are way too big. Friendly service, but not the fastest.

The best Paella in New York city

By abogado2015 |

I first discovered Sevilla in 1984. What's amazing is that the food has been consistently wonderful throughout all these years. Our favorite waiter, Antonio, always gives first class service. The Paella Valenciana is prepared in a casserole, not an open pan dish and is moist and ever so flavorful. My wife likes the Mariscada in green sauce which is truly delicious. The atmosphere is quaint and historical. The wood walls in the rear have murals depicting scenes of Dutch colonial life in the early years of New York City. This restaurant is a true treasure and must be experienced by lovers of Spanish cuisine.

Paella to die for

By ppace1965 |

we had paella at this restaurant. although it was hot and noisy the food made up for it and the staff and service was excellent.ngood value for money.

LOVELY ALL AROUND!

By Arlenee L |

Sevilla's food is absolutely delicious! The staff is truly overwhelmed with the amount of people but none the less you will definitely have a good experience and leave rather satisfied all around! We had many appetizers and dishes and they were all GREAT! My favorite was the Pollo al Ajillo... the flavor was AMAZING!

Good traditional Spanish food.

By FNANY |

If you want to feel a bit of Spain in NYC, if you want to have real Spanish dishes (not micro tapas) served by nice waiters on white table cloth, this is the place to go. Great service. Very good traditional food. We had the garlic shrimp and the garlic Dover sole. Both were delicious. We did not take an appetizer so they served us a great mixed salad to start. Very good place. I just wish they had more than two reds by the glass.

A little dissapointed

By Ivela |

Crouded, very noisy and the food was nothing special. I've had better spanish food many times. The bartender was not friendly and had a long face all night. I wonder how or why they do not have queen spanish olives at a spanish restaurant. They make a dirty Martini with tiny empty olives.!! The paella had a few pieces of seafood and tons of rice.

Long Lunch Before a Late Flight

By LSUGIRLNOLA |

How lucky were we to just happen upon this restaurant, which was started in 1941. We were in the area to see the famous steps from SITC, and just found it! Everything was delicious. We started with stuffed mushrooms. Entrees were Veal Sevilla sautéed with mushrooms and Shrimp with mild white wine sauce. I have never had a sauce like that, it included milk, but it was really good. After all that, we just did not want to leave, we shared a flan. Oh, and wine too. The room has such a wonderful atmosphere. If only those walls could talk. And the people watching was great as well. This experience just topped off a wonderful week in the city, and so unexpected.

Very rude

By dredd123 |

So a cold, wet, miserable tramp around the village and we decide to dart in here at lunchtime for snack and wine to keep our spirits up. I think it must have been because we only ordered tapas sort of portions, or maybe the guy was having a bad day. But just a 'hello' might have been nice. Food fine - padron peppers and the grilled squid. Can't really figure it out as others have raved about the service here.

For me a can't miss stop.

By TARCPA |

NYC visitors, both tourist and business often have favorite eaterys to visit during their stay. I, for one, cannot miss this comfortable busy and reasonably priced Spanish restaurant. Looking for tapas they have great dishes. I always have the Paella and a pitcher of Sangria. The service folks are affable but don't rush you. I imagine this is more a neighborhood haunt than a tourist attraction. Try this place, I would be surprised if you did not think it reasonably priced and a good experience.

Still has the charm

By Bonnie S |

Since we already had dinner reservations at another restaurant, I felt a trip to NYC would not be complete without a visit to Sevilla. The waiter was gracious when we told him we were there for drinks and an appetizer. Too bad, because their paella is some of the best I have had. The Sangria is pretty dang good also. We settled for mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat and some cocktails. It was wonderful to be back in the warm and rich surroundings, with the professional service, and tantalizing aromas from the kitchen. Next, we will plan better and have the kind of dinner you can only get at Sevilla.

Amazing service, food and Sangria!

By kenindenver |

We were actually told about the place while on the top of the Empire State Building, but did not actually seek it out. We had to go to the Village to get a picture of the “Friends” building for my girlfriend’s daughter, and were then walking around to see what else there was to see. Ended up getting hungry and decided to stop at the next restaurant that we found, which just happened to be Sevilla, so in we went. Our waiter was a wonderful older gentleman, and we let him know we were not in a hurry. Started with a pitcher of red sangria and some mussels. Both were delicious! We moved on to additional seafood dishes and a pitcher of white sangria, delicious again! A very relaxed meal, wonderful food, wonderful service, and quite reasonably priced! Will return at some point.

Bad experience. TERRIBLE!!!!!

By Annie L |

Don't go there!!! Worst place to go. The food, the service and the ambiance are bad. The food was slung unto the table, the waiter didn't even know the difference between white or red wine. The chicken tasted like rubber, the gravy sloppy, the shrimps still frozen, enough said.

Outstanding Old-Style New York establishment

By Cuyamaca |

The Marisada with Green Sauce is wonderful - a fish stew served over saffron rice with a parsley, olive oil and minced onion sauce into which I think a few shrimp have been dissolved. Magical stuff - and affordable. BTW, this is the favorite local restaurant of a friend who was born in Greenwich Village to parents who were both born in the Village. If you can, go to Sevilla on a sleepy afternoon when it's relaxed and half-empty. What a place! I once took my elderly uncle, a shy, white-bearded painter, to Sevilla, and when he ordering a dry sherry before lunch, he wondered aloud if there was any cheese. It wasn't on the menu, I told my uncle. The tall, somber waiter apologized, but then I saw him back in the kitchen, talking with owner, and suddenly someone ran out to a local store. Three minutes later a plate of cheese arrived for my uncle, who nodded and smiled without a word. The Spanish waiter beamed with pride, and also said nothing. As a native Californian, the memory of that afternoon lunch at Sevilla is a kind of venerable New York experience that I cherish. Always glad to find it's still open. Go there!

Authentic Spanish Cuisine

The lack of reservations made it difficult to plan an evening and waiting for a table in a crowded restaurant was uncomfortable. Once seated (45 minutes?) we enjoyed our dinner.

What a Noisy, Unwelcoming Place

By jbgshrink |

We live in the neighborhood but hadn't been to Sevilla in probably 20 years. My partner reminded me that the main reason we hadn't continue to go there was that many of the waiters were obnoxious. However we met N.J. friends there for dinner there at 6:30 on a Saturday night assuming that this was early enough to get a table without waiting. We were the first to arrive and the place was already noisy and probably filled to 75% of their capacity. The waiter who greeted us was cranky and hostile. We said our friends would arrive soon but that we'd like to be seated so that we could order drinks. No way was this going to happen according to him. After waiting about 10-15 minutes, he did seat us. I have no idea why he changed his mind. Our friends came within 5 minutes of our being seated. The food was slung unto the table in such a rushed and unappetizing way. We found the food mediocre but the atmosphere and service worse. We were all disappointed.

Fantastic!

By Arnie A |

Stopped in here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The two of us shared the seafood paella and the garlic shrimp, as well as a pitcher of sangria. Atmosphere is old school and service is fantastic. The food was absolutely incredible! Very nice place that I will definitely come back to!

Quintessential Village

By T204raveler |

The waiters wear bow ties. The bar wood old, aged, warm and welcoming. A warning from The City for no more than 91 patrons displays prominently, 10 feet from the front door. Quaint, comfortable and homey would describe this place for me. The staff took care of us, they didn't just serve us. The food was ok, to be honest. We enjoyed the paella, grilled calamari and olives. It filled and satisfied us. We arrived early and relaxed at a window table and a (relatively) quiet spot...until the place filled. I would choose the place again.

Old World Gem

By Sean T |

Fantastic real Spanish restaurant that has stood the test of time. Fastidious service, warm transporting atmosphere, and comfort food Spanish style. The tables are close and they try to move things along, but that is to be expected. Delicious veal dishes, and great value too with soups included. Will be back.

Best of the best Spanish Food

By GMP1943 |

We have been going to Sevilla for over 40 years ! We have never been disappointed ! Shrimp in white wine sauce is fabulous. Staff are always welcoming. No reservations but worth a wait when necessary . Sangria yummy

My Favourite Restaurant on Earth

By KateLouisa1989 |

Meal: INCREDIBLE value for money for the location (Greenwich Village being one of the most expensive places in New York to live/eat). PHENOMENAL value for money for drinking! The champagne bottles are ridiculously cheap. Atmosphere: Wonderful and authentic Decor: Homely and warm and welcoming THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED Great for a date night and time away from the chaos of the busier parts of NYC

Old school Spanish food in old world West Village

By Rolfe H |

I'm a local. Visited last week. This is our solid comfort food place where a few of us go for paella and any type of grilled or stewed meat that goes with sangria. The crowd is diverse, but everybody goes for the same reason - this is solid but slightly more elegant yet still down to earth and just plain good...consistently...for over 20 years that I've been going. Great corner location, very understated, nice booths, old bar, white table cloth and napkin service. Great for dinner with a friend, dates, taking your child or parent out. Recommend any of the paellas, chicken with garlin, the pork chops are always good. Sangria is potable - red or white. This is much more down to earth than El Quixote (which can be really loud).

Excellent and fun

Sevilla is the best classic old school Spanish restaurant in the city. Ive been going here for over 20 years and have never had a bad meal. Those saying it's overpriced - hello? You're in NYC. And its reasonable at that. Had another awesome meal Sunday night and will be back. And it is authentic

Quaint, old restaurant serving probably NYC's best of Traditional Spanish Cuisine

By Kenkhan |

If you happen to go around this part of NYC, do not be fooled by its unassuming exterior. It was good we were craving for paella that evening and chanced upon this resto in the area. We were welcomed by a kind senor who guided us to a corner table and gave us the menu. Looking around the interior filled with vintage varnished furniture, wooden walls and yellow stained lamps, one gets the feeling that the owner wanted to create an old world ambiance. The black and white, bow-tied clad waiters didn't waste time in getting our orders right away. I got a Spanish cerveza, and we ordered some soups, paella a la valenciana, swordfish steak and veal with mushrooms. Having Basque friends who owned a family Spanish restaurant and served authentic Basque paella raised the bar quite high for paella and I was hoping that Seville won't fall short or be okay at the least. The beer Estrella Galicia was okay, it was kay but not quite unique and did not have that bitterness I like in San Miguel. For the soups, the Caldo Gallego was flavourful and creamy and both my wife and her friend, found it really good. The Gazpacho was tasty and balance--- not too acidic or sour, just the right sour, salty and thickness. Now on to the main dishes, the Broiled Swordfish was okay. there were some parts that were quite dry but the other parts were cooked just right still had its delectable juiciness and moisture which made up for the drier parts. Would be better if all parts of the fish were cooked right. The sauce of Veal Sevilla Sauted with Mushroom was earthy, creamy and flavourful. However, the veal was disappointingly dry as well and a tad bit overcooked. The saffron rice that came with did not help because it was even drier and felt crumbly and needing a lot of drink to swallow it down. We were on to our final and most awaited meal- la paella. Getting our hopes down with the first two main dishes, we hope at least the paella would be our salvacion. A fragrant scent of the paella hinted at the likely positive outcome, then finally tasting it made it worthwhile we went to Sevilla. The rice was cooked just right-- not overcooked and dry--, perfectly moist rice with delectable chicken, Spanish sausage and seafood. The combination of the meat, seafood rice and spices resulted in a balanced mix reminiscent of the Basque paella I used to have... Definitely a close runner-up to the first paella that won my heart and the first one in a very long while not to disappoint. Will definitely recommend to those visiting NYC or those who are already there and needing an experience in the best of Spanish cuisine. Next time you are in this area, don't think twice in coming in for you'll be in for a good surprise. Did I mention how friendly and jolly the waiting staff are? and the mysterious, old senor (who looks like the owner), he gave us a goodbye and thank you that made one feel like you are a family leaving. Good to know, on our way out, I glimpsed at the 2016 Michelin endorsement and the Zagat Award they consistently received. Truly, a wonderful experience to be had and will definitely come again.

A True Find, Sorry it Took us so long to try it.

By NewYorkerluvsKeyWest |

We've walked by Sevilla for years but this past Saturday we decided to give it a try. We were seated immediately by a kindly gentleman who took our drink orders. A large basket of terrific bread arrived before the drinks, and we attacked it with vigor, it was that good. We ordered two different chicken dishes: Chicken Villaroy (Breast of chicken with Béchamel Cream) Broiled Half Chicken Both were wonderful, they both had a salad included with the entree price, and both were cooked to perfection. Speaking of the salad, the house dressing is the only choice here, and it is a standout. We both loved its unusual texture and flavor. So, if you are in search of a neighborhood-type restaurant that's a step-above, try Sevilla, we'll be back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE

By Theresa M |

We are in NJ but used to live in the Village and often went here. Yesterday, we needed to drop off something in NYC and decided to take a walk around our old neighborhood. We got take-out from Sevilla and it was absolutely delicious! We had Shrimp in White Wine sauce and Garlic Shrimp, as well as the ever favorite Sangria. It was such a treat in the midst of this epidemic. The staff was great too. This is why it is considered a neighborhood gem!

A gem in the heart of West Village

By Simon |

From the excellent food, phenomenal sangria, delicious complimentary salad, attentive and quick service, nothing will disappoint you. But it's that old New York feel beautifully blended in a real atmosphere from Spain that really makes the experience unforgettable. If only was a little less busy and noisy inside it would be perfect, but as we know, no one is perfect except God alone!

The hospitality is just as wonderful as the food!!!

By Barbara B |

Visited this place for the 1st time and I will go back!!! If you are looking for delicious food, then this is the place to go. And please make sure to order the Octopus!!! Oh my gosh, the taste is out of this world and it melts in your mouth. The sangria was so refreshing!! It is a little pricey but I would pay it again just for the atmosphere. The owner stopped by our table just to ask if we were enjoying everything....and our answer was a definite YES!

Sevilla is the Genuine Article!!!!!!!

By eventsbythirteen |

Sevilla, is a fantastic trip into the neighborhood restaurant scene! This decidedly old- school establishment, is excellent in all catagories! Service, atmosphere, being greeted by the owner of 50+ years, an extremely nice touch! The food, is excellent! A friend and I shared the paella, DELICIOUS!! As was the red sangria!

Sevilla restaurant

By lspiegel2017 |

Been to Sevilla restaurant many times and never had anything negative occur. Their food is excellent and there is a broad spectrum of Spanish recipes. Unfortunately our latest experience with their service was not good. Our waiter was quite slow and we did not receive all that was ordered. Hopefully this was a one time experience.

Love this place

By LPM418 |

50 years and counting. Never better. Location, venue, staff and food worth coming back for. Window seat during snow storm best seat in the house, other than the bar. Go there- you’ll love it....

Fun Spanish Restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday

By Lilly E |

Long-time establishment serving good Spanish food. The shrimp in green sauce is amazing! The prices are fair in comparison to the amount of seafood you receive. You will not go hungry. Two negatives: gets very crowded so it is loud and they do not take reservations.

Wonderful, nostalgic evening out with family!

By Mhorton41 |

We were a family foursome on a busy Sunday evening. Called in advance, and was told "we'll make room for you". They were as good as their word and we were seated right away. Noisy, but just with a good buzz of the crowd having fun, as did we! I only have positive things to say about the whole experience, and cannot imagine anyone being anything but delighted with dining there. Two appetizers, three entrees and two desserts for the four of us still resulted in a takeout bag for home! My martini was perfectly executed, BTW...so I had another! Highly recommended.

Disaster

By Reviewer 4 |

I've eaten here many times over the last 30 years and given it wonderful reviews in the past. But last nights dinner was awful. The food was tasteless. My husband had the garlic chicken which was bland. My sons chicken Sevilla was basically chicken Marsala and he thought it was better at the takeout Italian place. The fish in my paella was overlooked. The biggest problem was the service. We had to ask 7 times for water. I eventually took a pitcher off the bar. This is not the place I knew. I will not return Dinner cost $125 for 3

Outstanding

By BrewsterG |

Have been returning here for years. Excellent selection of appetizers; Sangria plus Mariscada Ajillo=an outstanding meal. Attentive waitstaff, and accommodating for infants, also.

Not as good as I expected

By feigie50 |

I'd say that the paella was not even average. It was served in a pot, not in a paella pan. It was a bit soupy not with the crispy bottom of traditional Valencian paella. The seafood was fine but not great. The salad had way too much dressing. Service was ok.

Best Paella in Manhattan

By LoveLakeoftheWoods |

Sevilla Restaurant carries forth that traditional Spanish paella dish with perfection. A quaint setting, with original woodwork from the 1920’s, Sevilla has been a fixture in Greenwich Village since the 40’s. The staff are always so welcoming and helpful. The “Lobster seafood” Paella is one of our favourites. Enjoy their in house sangria or a full list of adult beverages.

One time was enough !

By Katey L |

Sevilla was always one of my favorite restaurants in The Village; paella was always astonishing ! Went there many times in the 80's, however, sometime this past Spring, I decided to try it again and was so disappointed; would never go back ! It was a Saturday afternoon and upon entering the restaurant, I stood at the door, hoping someone would greet me and no one ever did. After noticing a table by the window, I decided to take a seat to see what happened; almost 20 minutes later, I had to flag down a server to ask for a menu and a glass of sangria....the paella was sub-par. The waiter told me the best one was the Valencia which had lobster in it; he didn't mention that the lobster was not out of the shell, so when it came, I had to struggle with it for sometime......long story short.....just a very bad afternoon !!!!! I dine by myself very often, and will definitely scratch this from my list !!!!!!

Sloppy

By R_Sweden |

We just jumped in to this restaurant. Friday early evening and almost full. First the staff was very nice and attentive. We had both meat dishes. Just terrible meat and tasteless. When we wanted to pay we got questions from five different waiters if we wanted something more.. Can not recommend this place.

YUMMY

By catrina717 |

Went last night with a group of friends - this place is always crowded - they pack you in like sardines - but SO WORTH IT!!! We had the sausage, shrimp in green sauce and mussels for appetizers - I had the clams in the green sauce for my entree - I wanted to dive into the bowl of sauce - everything is really good!!!

We had our exchange student from Spain and wanted to find an authentic restaurant for her. As soon as she walked in she was so excited. Everyone in the restaurant came up & talked to her. They were very welcoming to her and to us! The food was great!
