This is the 3rd or 4th time I've stopped in after catching a film at the nearby art cinema The Quad. The fireplace on the lower level is impossible to resist, especially when they have a jazz trio playing in the corner. They serve a rich "Black Manhattan" along with other specialty cocktails. Typically, we repair to the back dining room for excellent food and respectable wine list. Their "welcome bread" consists of warm popovers and herb-butter--worth the "price of admission" alone. Recently, I ordered one of their "Restaurant Week" menus, which included perfectly cooked Duck Chitarria spaghetti and a super-moist chicken breast. Both were more sizable portions than usually found in these promotional menus. I have to ask myself whether I go to the Quad Cinema as an excuse to eat dinner here...quite possibly.

My office is in the area and I watched the painstakingly complete renovation of this amazing brownstone, (it might be 2 brownstones), and watched it become the most handsome hotel. I’ve always wanted to try the restaurant. For sure, if I wasn’t a NYer and I was visiting NYC I would definitely stay here. It has style and more importantly it has the most amazing location in the city. It’s on a side street and it is accessible to the best of the best that NY has to offer. The restaurant did not disappoint, and especially for a hotel restaurant. There is a lounge with live music...a lovely jazz singer. Dinner was shishito peppers, burrata, short rib angnolotti and scallops. All delicious. They also make a black manhattan which is made with amaro, sometimes hard to find in the city. Delicious!

Beautiful décor, outstanding service , and an atmosphere that immediately makes you feel welcome. Every member of the staff was super friendly and helpful. Special mention to Pablo, the rockstar bartender — we asked him to create some tequila-based cocktails, and both were absolutely fantastic. Before or after dinner, you can enjoy live music in the hotel lobby, which adds such a charming touch to the evening. Combined with the amazing food, it truly makes for the perfect spot — whether for a romantic dinner or an evening out with friends. The Crab & Corn Beignets were a creative, crave-worthy twist, the branzino was cooked to perfection (that sauce… wow), and the s’more dessert was a playful, elevated throwback to campfire nights. My wife couldn’t stop raving about her dishes either. Bottom line: amazing food, killer cocktails, live music, and the kind of service that makes you smile all night. I’ll be back — and so should you.

They make a nice martini here in a very pleasant setting. You can sit in the lobby at small tables or comfortable chairs for a quiet drink or head into the bar if you are looking for more energy.

Had a nice relaxing lunch here. It's located on the ground floor of the Walker Hotel. Really loved the decor. Both cozy (you walk through a cellar to get there) and airy (skylight, tables not too close together). They have a $35 prix fixe that includes wine. Had the trout and the mushroom salad - would recommend both (though a bit salty).

Society Cafe is hidden away in plain site in a trendy neighborhood inside the Hotel Walker . It is a very attractive restaurant with a separate bar area and dining room. Large, comfortable banquettes line the walls The menu is very inventive and the choices many Service was friendly and professional We were here for lunch which was surprisingly reasonable given the quality of the dishes We started with chick peas fries that were delicious as was the dipping sauce that came with them The menu also included a variety of pizzas and hamburgers and a great waffle fried chicken sandwich On our recommendation friends came for dinner and they loved it too

Love this place so much we ate there two nights in a row before seeing a play next door. Green salad, lobster potato puffs, kale Caesar , short rib poutine, pizza, oysters and fresh pasta were all excellent. Really pretty decor in a lovely hotel.

We just left the movie house next door and literally fell into this place like a first discovery. It is a hotel upstairsand a cocktail lounge downstairs and in the back a lovely restaurant with window skylight above. Very cozy ambiance and the luncheon menu had a healthy vibe. No reservation...at lunch time, but the evening could require it just in case this place gets discovered and becomes crowded.

I have been to Society Cafe for dinner on multiple occasions and have always had a great experience, so when I was tasked with planning a 75th birthday dinner gathering for the members of my high school class, I gave them a call. Fast forward, I, along with 49 other members of the class attending, couldn't have been happier. The atmosphere is, for us children of the 60's, really cool. The configuration of the room was just perfect, the service was excellent and the food was over-the-top plentiful and delicious. The executive chef, Nicholas McCann, came out to personally ensure that all attending were enjoying the night. Just some of the selections we enjoyed included lobster rolls, garlic shrimp, baked fresh bass, a beautiful beat salad and a side dish of roasted squash. And the freshly baked popovers, a signature offering for every visit, are alone worth the visit. Whether for a smaller group (I've been there to celebrate with 10 family members) or a larger gathering like my high school classmates, Society Cafe does an excellent job in making any occasion extra special.

Order the scallops! Amazing dish with a great combination of flavors. They also have happy hour with great prices on beer and wine.

We dined here several times while staying at the attached Walker Hotel. The food and service are excellent, better, in fact, than any other place we tried in the neighborhood.

Ate dinner here with a friend. Nice service, delicious food, great atmosphere, reasonable prices, and quieter than most Manhattan restaurants. I am definitely coming back! So happy to have found this place.

Charming lower Fifth restaurant. Good atmosphere, menu, food and service. High-average restaurant. Not the top end but just below. Will not disappoint!

We stayed at The Walker Hotel for one week and decided to try its restaurant: The Society Cafe. We think it’s a bit overpriced and tries too much. For example: a salad can be just a salad, and not a deconstructed concoction (hubby is a Chef de Cuisine). The breakfast can be simpler with just a bread basket with butter and jam. The pizza (truffles) it’s not real truffles but truffle oil (it should state that) and it came too salty (had to send it back), the second time it was much better. We only ate there if we had to. I recommend many places in the area for breakfast and lunch! The hotel is quaint but rooms are small.

Shopping nearby. Liked menu, opened torch flanked doors and live music flowed over my weary psyche. Returned each of the last three days in NYC. One of the highlights of my November travels. Next time, I’ll stay at the Walker, the gracious hotel above. Greenwich Village incarnate. Love the New School just across the street.

The lobby of this hotel and its restaurant are on a lower level (with an elevator available inside the entrance). It's a quirky set up but after walking toward the back, one enters a very pleasant open space which is the Society Cafe. The parameter has spacious booths with tables in the center. There were few people there for a weekday lunch but we didn't mind that. My friend and I first shared their Boston Bibb Salad with very small pieces of apple, cheddar. and hearts of palm. It was good enough but very sparse. Oddly, there wasn't enough lettuce on the plate and I had perhaps one piece of cheese in my portion. This salad was $16. It should have been considerably more generous or priced considerably lower. We then shared the Chicken Club. We asked the waiter is there were 2 or 3 slices of bread. He said 2 - it came with three. My friend asked for mustard which was the giveaway. It didn't have enough flavor. It was O.K. - just O.K. This sandwich was $18. We then each had a cup of cappuchino at $6. apiece. We left disappointed.

Society Cafe is an undiscovered gem near 6th Avenue. It’s one of the seemingly few places that isn’t overrun with people or tourists. There is a hotel associated with the cafe, but there were plenty of tables and seating available when we arrived for a breakfast meeting at 9am. The staff is very prompt and attentive, but are not pushy and don’t rush you through ordering or dining. They have a great menu with a lot of juices available. The olive oil pancakes were amazing and include apple cider butter or jam. Either way, so good! I would definitely recommend this restaurant or go back myself.

I threw a surprise party for my husband here and it was a huge success. The friendly staff worked with me ahead of time to select the best appetizers. The servers worked hard during the party, making many trips back and forth to keep the drinks and food in supply. The party was in the lounge in the front of the restaurant. After a couple hours, we moved to the dining room for dinner. While half the people had left, we were still a large group. The staff was still very accommodating and friendly. By this time it was late, but the service never let up. The comment I heard over and over from our guests was that they had been curious about this place but had yet to eat there. (The place is somewhat new, and the exterior is beautiful) All were impressed and planned to return again. The day after the party, one of the hosts sent me a picture she had taken of us. It was once of the best pics of the night and I was touched that she had thought to do that. I highly recommend Society Cafe!

Society Cafe is located off the lobby of a boutique hotel (Walker Hotel) in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. Please note, this review is based on my enjoying a cocktail and nosh at the bar upon arrival while my room was being prepared as well as Breakfast/Brunch the following morning prior to departure. First to mention, the space is quaint and warm; the decor and ambiance is classic but modern at the same time. So, first impression is that this place is promising. Next up the greeting, the gentleman who greeted me upon arrival, was welcoming, cordial and attentive. I said that I was waiting for someone and wanted just a cocktail and nosh and bar seating would be perfect ... he motioned me to the bar (immediately adjacent to the entrance). I sat at the bar and was greeted by the bartender’s friendly smile, he expertly took and prepared my cocktail order, a goose dirty martini, he shook that drink within an inch of its life, served up frosty cold, smooth, and delicious as can be! He too was kind and warm, inviting not quick to serve and move on, my guest arrived, we enjoyed a few more cocktails, a nosh of Chickpea Fries and Blistered Shishito Peppers both perfect portions that hit the spot for an afternoon pick-me-up. The next morning, we were greeted again by the same gentleman as the afternoon prior, he was again, warm, and welcoming, well groomed (we commented about his perfect hair .. LOL) and ready to run the show; by now I gather he is the Manager on staff and with good reason. He guided us to our table, made sure that we were settled in with our menus and ready to enjoy a fantastic first meal of the day! The menu selections are ample, easy to find something for everyone’s tastes. We had a tough time deciding but chose to split Market Omelet which came with breakfast potatoes, Murray’s Everything Bagel with House Made Lox and a Side of Applewood Bacon ... all portions were perfect and the quality of the preparation on everything was perfect! Our server was attentive and kind, again she welcomed us and treated us like guests in her own home. Society Café is a little gem of a place in the Village, tucked in the back of the Walker Hotel; excellent service and leadership by the Manager on staff (3/23 & 3/24), excellent service and competence by the bartender, he too was there the following morning and excellent service and warmth from our server. I know that NYC has a million places to go, but if you want welcoming warmth, excellent hospitality, and a competent friendly staff, stop here to enjoy it all! I am glad I stayed at the Walker but am ecstatic that I decided not to venture too far beyond the lobby!

Chef Zabita hits a home run on the menu items here; creative, flavorful, artistic and most of all, delicious. Society Cafe pleases on all levels. You enter through rich welcoming wooden doors and marble stairs, to a smooth atmosphere of the lobby (which doesn't feel like a lobby) bar. Gentle fire burning and cozy couches were perfect on a cool evening to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner. Excellent wine list. The restaurant feels like you are going to an exclusive private club, as you pass through a narrow hall to get into the dining room. We had a corner booth which was perfect for our party of 6. Atmosphere here is that sweet spot of comfortable and classy. Wait staff, particularly Lalana, were consummate professionals; always there when we needed, friendly, informed but never overbearing. Best part was the meal. Started with popovers fresh and hot from oven, served with seasoned butter. Then to the snacks; loved the special Peconic Bay scallops and the shishito peppers. Friends shared pasta dishes that were so creative and delicious. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection with glazed onions, while my husband had the lamb, again cooked perfectly. Side dishes were wonderful; try the roasted Brussels sprouts with Chef's special seasonings.Wish I could have tried dessert, but no room. Wonderful meal here and can't wait to go again.

A hotel dining room with a chef, not just short order cooks. The menu, even for breakfast and brunch makes some effort to be artistic, interesting and flavorful. The room itself is pleasing, with a lovely gold colored tin ceiling, a mini-atrium of glass bringing in natural light. While breakfast is somewhat of a captive audience thing in hotels, they have wisely brought in some locally sourced specialties, like Balthazar pastries and Murray's Bagels. the wait staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. We usually avoid hotel dining rooms on this side of the Atlantic, but this is not a bad place to hang out if you are not in the mood to explore.

Had an excellent brunch with a large party at the society cafe. The restaurant had a great vibe along with awesome food and service. The manager Marie was super helpful with assisting our party with specific food allergies and dietary restrictions. I hope to be back soon!

Newly reopened restaurant in Walker Hotel has excellent food. I’m working my way down the menu and each dish delights! The loin of lamb plate was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. A surprise was the outstanding wild mushroom grunted pizza. And they make their own ice-cream, cinnamon and banana creame, sublime.

Keith and the whole Walker Hotel Team made my son's and daughter-in-law's wedding reception the perfect memory for everyone, exceeding all expectations and delivering true excellence. The set-up and venue are beautiful! The food is delicious! Service is friendly and accommodating and efficient! And, Ashton the pastry chef is like no other! OMG - She astounded us with her gorgeous "naked wedding cake" adorned with fruit and flowers! It was a piece of art! And delicious! Society Cafe is a little known secret gem, but not for long!!! With utmost appreciation...We loved the whole experience. Highly recommend it. Helen Felsher (Virginia resident, former NYC and CT resident)

The atrium gives the room an airy feel and I enjoyed the menu offerings and affordable brunch cocktails.

Having walked past for a couple of years we tried out Society Cafe on a Saturday evening. A nice entrance area welcomes you before proceeding to your table. The menu offers a variety of farm to table fresh produce and there is a limited wine list. The spaghetti was an excellent starter and we followed that up with the tuna and the hanger steak. Both were good not great and the steak in particular seemed a bit chewy at medium rare. The chocolate cake on dessert was also ok but nothing to rave about Service was a little confused starting with the chosen wine not being available and then the side dish of carrots never showing up Overall it’s a nice space with a good range of Menu items. I will be happy to give it another go

Not coming back. Bad service, terrible management. A waiter brought half our order and disappeared, leaving us with nothing to drink. He reappeared to serve other tables, but never came back with our lattes. No water. Nothing to drink. I had to complain to a second person who did his best to help, but brought coffee instead of latte. Then, a women reprehended him and went on mistreating us as if we were the problem.

We had the kale Caesar and green salads along with a margherita pizza for lunch. The salads were fresh and well-made, the pizza was very good. The check for two people was $83 including a glass of prosecco and aperol. The service was pleasant until I left a 10% tip (adequate in most cities) — the waiter turned back and gave me a very angry look. Since I live in Toronto now, I am used to servers being friendly regardless of the tip’s size, so this cast a pall on what had been a pleasant lunch.

Nestled within The Walker Hotel in Greenwich Village is the Society Cafe serving breakfast lunch and dinner. First if all, the staff treats you like royalty making that special effort to make you feel welcome. And there is the food. What can I say besides the fact that this was one of the best meals we have ever had and living in NYC we have had plenty of great meals. Find the time to relax, have a delightful cocktail and enjoy the appetizers right through the desserts.

I had breakfast at Society Cafe as i was in the hotel and I liked the restaurant alot. even though the restaurant does not serve open buffet for breakfast but Ala carte, but the food was so yummy. They were kind enough to replace my sausage and bacon with a small fruits plate. I had scrambled egg and Avocado toast and it was so yummy. I even tried at dinner a vegan cauliflower Risotto and it was so yummy. The prices are a little bit above the average but the food is worth it.

This restaurant is perfect if you wanna have a good time with friends, the restaurants is in a hotel’s basement. The restaurant is very elegant and they a have a variety of different plates. The food is good, but it is really expensive

It is the restaurant of the Walker Hotel in Greenwich Village. Very nice, charming room. I ate there three times, twice for dinner with room service and once for breakfast. I once ate grilled octopus (very good) with tomatoes, olives and cauliflower and the other time grilled sea bream and grilled chicken, all excellent. However, I didn't like the crispy rice. Menu is not very extensive and not suitable for children. A note: they got the time wrong, I had asked to receive dinner at 8.30pm and they brought it an hour early.

The society cafe has quickly become one of our favorite neighborhood gems. So it seemed fitting that we have our baby shower there for our baby boy. We worked very closely with Jessica, the events coordinator, who was wonderful! She helped us with every detail and offered helpful suggestions on the table arrangements, the food, and the wine. Everything was outstanding. The food was delicious & plentiful and the service was impeccable. The teamwork shown throughout the restaurant was remarkable. We thank Jessica and the society cafe for their hospitality and for making our baby shower just perfect. We will DEFINITELY be hosting more events here in the future.

This cozy cafe adds a good place to eat to the Walker Hotel. Good service and a fun menu. Especially liked the breakfasts with yummy fresh squeezed juices in interesting combinations of fruits and veggies!

Society cafe is really a stunning venue. The design and layout are unique and well suited the aura of Greenwich village and the Walker hotel. The waitress was very attentive and incredibly helpful. However what let the experience down was the fact that the restaurant did not have the kombucha cocktail that was advertised on the menu nor did it have the wine we wanted to order from the menu. The drinks took approximately 20 minutes to arrive at the table which was annoying. However when the drinks did arrive they were beautifully presented and tasted as good as they looked. We ended up ordering a few more. The food was good but nothing exceptional or unique about it. Ultimately we enjoyed ourselves but it was not an experience to write home about.

We had such a lovely waitress who was so attentive that when they ran out of an ingredient for my drink, the manager ran out and purchased it and then didn't charge me for the drink. Our dinner, though was a disappointment. The pizza was mostly crust and didn't taste very good--my son left most of it. My risotto was so salty it was inedible. They were kind enough to take it off the bill. We loved the popovers! We wouldn't eat here for dinner again but would like to try brunch. There was a lovely vibe in the place, just the food was problematic. My mom likes hers, though, so that was good.

Had a great experience at brunch at the Society Cafe in the Walker Hotel. Impeccable, friendly service from the Manager, Bartender, and wait staff. Food and drinks were amazing

Everything about this hidden gem is perfect. We went for Mothers Day dinner and were so happy we did. The food is farm to table with ample portions. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable but not hovering. The ambiance is just right. The price does not break the bank, actually very reasonable for what you get. Will definitely return. A definite bucket list restaurant when near the Village.

Society Cafe appears to be an undiscovered cafe in Greenwich Village. It is located within a hotel. What makes this cafe unique is that the building is very old and the cafe is a great space from all the noise and bustle of the City. The food options are somewhat limited. I had the crispy chicken sandwich which was delightfully crisp with cabbage slaw in the sandwich. There are also a number of cocktail options if you wish to liven up the day.

A hidden gem in the city that never sleep. The place was charming and very quiet. Me and my friends enjoyed the big space and the fact that we can have a normal conversation without screaming. Service was quick and helpful. Everyone seems to be working together...which in my book is a big thumbs up. I didn't enjoy much what I ordered. I was hoping to get the chicken and waffle but friend was already ordering the same thing. I decided to get the buckwheat crepe. It great but I thought it was just average. Love the salad and dressing but I was disappointed with the main dish. Next time I visit, I will get the chicken and waffle.

Ate dinner here and came back for drinks and snack after. The food was very good. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Presentation was great. Good combo of flavors. We will be back.

From the impeccable service to the thoughtful menu, this hidden gem is a great place to escape the noise of the city. Tucked in the back of the Walker Hotel, the restaurant is flooded with light from an unusual sky light. The house recipe popovers were delicious, the menu was fresh, fun and unique, and the food was well presented and tasty! Try the Lobster Tots with Ginger Ketchup - it's a fun twist on a childhood favorite!

People serving were delightful, eager to please but the omelet was totally ordinary, although the espresso was good. We wanted to be bowled over and weren't. Maybe dinner is better but we didn't try it.

Avocado toast! French toast! Fresh juiced juices!!! Great coffee. AND - amazing service! Great start to my days in NY.

I came here with a friend recently, to experience their new Friday night jazz and was amazed, first with the beauty and elegance of the lobby (with a beautiful fireplace at the bottom of the stairs), and then with the delectable food and fantastic service provided (the vegetable chicharrones were to die for - we ordered two!). The Society Cafe is located inside of the Walker Hotel in the West Village on 13th Street. In terms of service, the servers are all cheerfully polite and it seems that their only goal is to ensure you have a pleasing experience. Our drinks were served from the bottle directly in front of us (we ordered wine by the glass and these were poured from bottles uncorked or opened in our presence at the lovely couches we where we were seated by the beautiful fireplace). The music was sultry and entertaining (they were showcasing a Brazilian singer that night I believe - who was quite good) - and I love the fact that the Hotel utilizes students from the New School who collaborate with the Walker Hotel to provide, not only their little piano (that is provided by the New School) but their artistic creations. But you will be pleasantly surprised at the caliber of talent; for students they are surprisingly skilled and gifted. So, Society Cafe's Friday Night Jazz was a nice little treat from the typical hustle and insanity of New York City. I returned on a recent Sunday for brunch and that was quite delicious also (the basket of pastries was yummy). Overall I find this place to be wonderful. It is lovely, serene and the food and service are top notch!

We were a party of four and stopped in Saturday night after a movie next door. Lovely space although a bit noisy. Instead of being served regular bread, we were served piping hot crispy popovers. What a wonderful way to start a meal. Everything we ordered, from the agnolotti to the steak to the lamb were delicious.

We stayed at the Walker and ate here twice for the convenience. The food is alright, but evening ambiance and service is terrific.

Society Cafe is a rare and unique gem located at Walker Hotel in Greenwich Village. Conveniently located with scrumptious food, great drinks, and a very attentive waitstaff. I highly recommend it.

This place has fabulous food. First place I’ve ever had chickpea fries and they were outta sight. Mimosa margaritas and Electric Lady margaritas that are hammer down. Live jazz six nights a week in the lobby of the fantastic Walker. Great service. Great atmosphere. Come check this place out.

Inside the 5-year running Walker Hotel one finds the smart and intimate Society Cafe. Seems certain tthat Weekend Brunch must give way to outstanding meals the rest of the time. Imaginative and delicious foods prepared and presented with utmost care and precision of flavors. New School Jazz Friday&Saturday nights round off a destination of tastes and surprises. Highly Recommend!

I dined here twice while staying at The Walker for a long weekend, and both the atmosphere and the food were several levels above what a typical hotel restaurant offers. As a vegetarian (mostly vegan), I had no problem finding good options on the menu; the chickpea fries and the ratatouille salad were delicious, and the NA cocktails were inventive and flavorful as well.

We went for a Sunday brunch - loved the décor, food was good and service very attentive. The restaurant is at Walker Hotel downtown

I had breakfast there last Sunday with son and some friends. The food was very good, but a little on the fancy side. I'm not sure I would recommend it for families with kids. There weren't any plain type dishes that kids want. We spend about $130 for breakfast for 4. The service was very attentive. It was actually almost a little too attentive. I felt like they were hovering. Overall, it was a nice restaurant and I would recommend for adults looking for a somewhat fancy meal.

We dined three times at Society Cafe while staying at the Walker. We had brunch, light dinner, and breakfast. Everything was delicious! We would eat there even if we were not guests of the hotel.

Beautiful restaurant inside The Walker Hotel. Food and service were fantastic --- and the bar serves amazing cocktails. Intimate. If you are in Greenwich Village, ideal dinner location.

This is a lovely venue with wonderful service and a friendly team managing the cafe. It is a pleasure to be at the Society Cafe. Unfortunately, the coffee is terrible! The single espresso was terribly off, served in a large coffee cup and not accompanied with water. The prosecco, however, was wonderful.

As any New Yorker will tell you, the Manhattan restaurants open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are few and far between and either offer exorbitantly expensive prix fixe meals or the type of cheap eats menu that doesn't lend itself to a holiday meal. We found Society Cafe on the internet and booked a table online on Christmas morning for 3:30 that afternoon as the dinner menu was being served after 3. We were charmed by the quiet block of West 13th Street and the elegant staircase that leads down from the street into the lobby of the boutique hotel that houses the restaurant. We were a few minutes early and opted to have a drink at the small bar that is slightly separated from the dining room. The room is well appointed with wood paneling and a wonderful and surprising skylight that let in plenty of natural light and must open out to the garden space behind the building. The banquettes were quite comfortable and the noise level quite manageable despite the fact we backed up to a large family visiting from Ireland. The menu was quite eclectic and we opted to share Lobster Tater Tots (mini tots with a pool of lobster bisque for dipping) and chickpea fries (plank fries made from pureed and breaded chickpeas with a refreshing yogurt and cucumber dressing. Our entrees were a mushroom ravioli topped with a light brown sauce and perfectly cooked oyster mushrooms and a Long Island Duck. We shared a delicious fig tart a la mode for dessert as well as a bottle (and two extra glasses) of sauvignon blanc before waddling home. With tip, the bill was close to $300 for two, but it was a special occasion and we could have easily economized without skimping for a non-holiday meal.

Enjoyed the breakfast each morning. It was satisfying in every way. Loved the sky light! Nice touch.

I ate by myself for dinner. One cocktail, a half portion of baked pasta, dessert and coffee set me back $60 with tip. The food was delicious, however.

We finished our trip to NY in this place and couldn't have chosen better. The restaurant is in a lovely neighbourhood and the place itself is very charming. The food was superb and the service outstanding. The atmosphere is relaxed but very classy. We also enjoyed some fantastic cocktails. Would highly recommend.

Chef Zabita is a food genius. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. THeir signature cocktails are yummy. I highly recommend brunch.

There are many hidden gems in the city, and we came across one last Sunday. Society Cafe, inside the Walker Hotel on 13th St, is a sublime mixture of beautiful decor, architecture, service and food that is a joy to experience. We made reservations (recommended for brunch) and were seated in a spacious and comfortable booth. We enjoyed cocktails (their Mimosa Margaritas and Peach Bellinis were light and delicious, perfect for a brunch). Entrees included Truffle B.E.C. (truffled bacon, egg and cheese in an herb popover - chef's kiss!), Market Omelet (caramelized onion, gruyere & wild mushrooms that day - wonderful) and Farmer's breakfast (two eggs any style, Applewood bacon, toast - fresh and delicious). Service was gracious and efficient, but we never felt rushed. We moved on to dessert, where we shared the house-made tiramisu (tremendous flavor and so light!) and chocolate bread pudding (with chocolate sauce and marshmallow ice cream - totally decadent!) and fresh-brewed coffee. Our thanks to our server Andres and especially manager Hayley, who helped us with celebrating our friends' wedding anniversary. This was one of the best brunches we've ever had in the city, and the space was gorgeous. Pictures are below. This was our first, but definitely not last visit!

If you want a nice, imaginative meal in a lovely casual yet could be dressy dining room with great service, a fine wine list and bartenders who really know their stuff - this may be the place for you. Why do I like it? Other than the food (which is creative and delicious), another huge attraction is NO TVs, which means the bar is old school. People drink, talk, take in the atmosphere - without the endless scroll of sports, blood, and news that poisons most NY eating and drinking environments. The Walker Hotel has been working on this restaurant for years, trying to get the right balance of chic, food, and service and they've finally got it right. Worth a visit.

We were staying at the Walker Hotel and the cafe is conveniently located at the lobby level. Live music during happy hours. We had breakfast here one morning. Very quaint setting with an open sky light ceiling over part of the cafe. Food was a little pricey but tasted good and its in a hotel so to be expected. We both had a mushroom and spinach omelette that was very yummy.

I chose Society Cafe as our venue to host a sit-down brunch for 22 this past Saturday. It's on a beautiful tree-lined West Village block in a charming boutique hotel with an elegant entrance. The dining room offers warm ambience that's bright and cheerful during the day thanks to a beautiful long rectangular skylight. Service is brilliant. The event manager and chef were very accommodating and thoughtful, and lovely to work with. They provided some unexpected personalized touches that made it extra special. The menu offers a good variety of delicious options, and selecting family-style was perfect and plentiful. The servers were very attentive, and we enjoyed at our own leisurely pace without even a hint that they were waiting for us to leave. All of our guests were extremely complimentary of the space, service and food, We can't wait to dine here again!

This is one of my two go-to places in the neighborhood. It's like a wonderful oasis of calm. Not too noisy. The food is scrumptious. And the ambiance is delightful. I'll definitely be going back.

Unlike the hotel attached, and their room service, the restaurant is great. I only ate here once during my stay, but was pleasantly surprised (based on the hotel!). The waiting staff are very knowledgeable and helpful, and the food was very good. I had a hanger steak which was delicious. Can definitely recommend.

Breakfast was excellent, best scrambled eggs and crisp bacon. Well thought out menu. Lunch was very good, recommend the flat bread pizza with mushrooms and truffles.

Lots of strong reviews to read about this place. This place is not visible from the street and that helps add to its charm. Walk into the hotel and find a restaurant that is real and not a “hotel” kind of place. Comfortable bar and dining room. We had brunch from the varied menu. What struck me the most was the very friendly staff who made it a point to make us feel welcome—all of them not just out waiter. A young crowd at most tables, having fun so it was a bit noisy in a good way. We enjoyed our meals. Recommended.

Service was impeccable! Our waitress Kim put such thought and care into every interaction, it felt like we were dining privately. Food was delicious and timely. I cannot stress how phenomenal the staff was through our entire dining experience. A special shout out to Kim for individualizing our experience and making a special evening out even better.

I had an incredible brunch experience here for a business meeting. The service was swift, friendly and efficient. Even though the dining room was busy, the manager took the time to stop by and check in on our table. The menu by Chef Zabita is fresh, creative and very thoughtful. I had the Eggs Florentine and the House Made Chicken & Pork Sausages. Delicious! I took a peek at the dinner menu and can't wait to come back to try it out. If you're in the Village and want something different, pop into Walker Hotel on West 13th St. and check out Society Cafe!

I just had lunch at Society Cafe with a friend. We both enjoyed our meals immensely. I had a delicious roasted carrot dish for an appetizer. That was a total winner..extremely good. For a main I had the chicken breast. I'm usually not a chicken breast type of guy, but this chicken breast was some of the most tender and perfectly cooked chicken I have ever had. It was very very good! The restaurant is beautiful. We sat underneath a skylight. Very comfortable. We were waited on by a guy named Peter. He was very attentive and very kind. He explained the meals very well. I had a wonderful time!

This spot is located inside the Walker Hotel Greenwich Village, tucked away in the back. It is almost hidden. The lobby of the hotel was a few steps down from the street. It was very nice, laid back and relaxing atmosphere with a fireplace. The restaurant entrance is to the left, through the narrow hallway passed the book shelves. There was supposed to be someone at the front, right by the narrow hallway at the host/hostess section. But, we didn’t see anyone, so we walked into the restaurant. As soon as we got inside the restaurant, a staff came over and assisted us. They had a full bar, pretty good size too. The restaurant was big, beautiful and very welcoming. Since we were there early, it was mostly empty. The restaurant had a skylight, bringing in lots of natural light, supported by lots of soft lights. The beautiful interior was not the only great thing that won us over. Their complimentary bread is not any ordinary bread. They brought us huge popovers that was warm and fluffy! We all got some cocktails to start, they were tasty, interesting, strong and sophisticated drinks. We got a couple of appetizers, Lobster Tater Tots and Short Rib Poutine. The tater tots were small both in size and portion, total of 7 tots in the plate... It was tasty, but didn't really get the lobster flavor, and wish if they had bigger portion. Poutine was flavorful with good amount of ribs. For main, we had Brisket Burger, Sesame Crusted Yellowfin Tuna, and two of us got Atlantic Sea Scallops. They all looked pretty amazing, beautifully plated. My scallop was a bit too salty which was unfortunate, but the rest was quite tasty. At the end, we ordered Carrot Cake and Mascarpone Cheesecake to share. At the time of reservation, I told the restaurant that we are celebrating my friends’ anniversary. I didn’t ask for anything special, but they went ahead and decorated the cheesecake for the celebration which was really sweet! The service was warm and welcoming. They were polite and took a really good care of us. All the dishes were made with high quality ingredients, and we enjoyed them all. I am happy to have found this spot, it is certainly a hidden gem.
