Very nice place, warm welcome and cozy atmosphere. It feels like we’re immersed in the 70s. After I find it a bit expensive, the value for money is not good and we made other dinners in NYC to compare

We went with two clients on a Sunday to have brunch before going to the airport. I had two eggs over easy with bacon and hash brown and toasts. Breakfasts was perfectly cooked, we had a reservation, so we did not wait more than 3 minutes. Waitress was very nice and well trained and service in general was very good. Serving were a bit small, but now a days is probably better to avoid so many calories. Will come back

Perhaps we caught them on a bad day, but the staff here did not care. The food was ok but the fries we were served were old a cold and the replacement took 15 minutes to fry up. Service was slow for mid afternoon with several servers on and only one of them was even pretending to be friendly. The interior is where this place gets all its stars. It’s gorgeous, but we aren’t rushing back.

My daughter and I were really looking forward to dipping into a real American diner on our recent trip but sadly, amongst all of the great food we sampled in our New York trip , this was the most disappointing. Lovely interior and happy with our seats but my daughter had to send her waffle back - it was very hard and overcooked . I kept my breakfast but I have to say the bacon was overcooked and the fried eggs too . We noticed that one of the diners on next table had sent hers back too . The waffle was better when it came back but initially it was quite obvious both plates had been left on the pass so food was not that warm . We also could pick up a distinct irritation from the waiter - not really to guests, seemed more his annoyance with kitchen staff but nevertheless perhaps not that professional for diners to be able to pick up on this .

Real American breakfast. Good portions. Staff very nice. I highly recommend it. It's been here twice.

They don’t deserve to be called a “ diner “ . Ordered an omelette and wanted to add onions and jalapeños. Waiter , who took 15 minutes to even get to the table, said they do not add just take away. I said you are a diner …you can always add. When you heat the pan for the omelette you add the onions and jalapeños. He said he would go back and ask the chef. Came back and said chef refused ( place is half empty and for good reason ). put them uncooked on the side of the omelette ! Do not go here !

What a great diner! The Soho bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was so much more than any bacon, egg and cheese I've ever had. I order it on sour dough toast with cheddar instead of american cheese. There was an amazing roasted tomato relish on the sandwich that pushed it over-the-top. Our Magon was a delight.

Cool atmosphere and friendly service. The salad was really good. We'll definitely come back next time we're in NY.

Love the frozen Frose drinks. They definitely hit the spot this summer. The food was good. Fries were fresh and crispy. Super chill Ny vibe

I've been here a few times, it is such a cool vibe. Cool, clean, 50's diner style restaurant open all hours. They serve Jacks coffee which is delicious, and their vegan pancakes are the bomb. Their playlist is the best, it's so nice to hear well produced classic new wave, punk, rock, you name it. Getting real tired of going into retail stores and having to put up with compressed modern pop. This is a great place to relax with friends and make nice memories.

I had called in to the diner for a late lunch. The welcome was friendly and the menu contains all the classics. I had the burger which was perfectly fine without being outstanding (but the amount of fries was massive). I ate well and was given good service. The food is fine, the service friendly and attentive, my only quibble is that the atmosphere was somewhat antiseptic and cool.

I was here for lunch and didn't find it to be anything special. I had a hamburger and onion rings, which came to a total of $26. Both were okay but not fantastic, and considering the price as compared to the quality of the food, I wouldn't come here again.

This is attached to the Soho Grand Hotel. This cute diner serves delicious food. I had avocado toast and my daughter had a salmon bialy platter. The home fries were so good .

Walked past it feeling peckish and it looked appealing. As soon as we walked in it felt relaxed and friendly with friendly staff. Food was lovely, service great, a lovely lunch.

We were lucky to find the Soho Diner. A great menu and great service. We’ve been several times different times of the day. Smashed Avocado Toast, Farmers Breakfast, Fresh Fruit Plate, milkshakes and pastries are all excellent. Cocktails all day include NY old fashioned which is great every time. Kelsi has been our server several times, and she is fabulous. All the servers are great. Aaron is our favorite and look for him whenever we return. He makes us feel welcome, and he runs the diner to a T! We appreciate him and look forward to seeing him when we return again. Thanks to everyone at the Diner!

My wife and I visited on two consecutive days, Saturday early and Sunday just after 9am. Food and service on Saturday were really great. Sunday however was much busier and the girl at the greeting desk (long dark hair and think rimmed glasses) had a really bad attitude that spoil the whole experience. She seemed unable to compute that as hotel guests we had entered via the rear door not from the sidewalk. It’s sad that one individual can create such bad feelings and spoil your visit.

Everything about this place is the perfect diner. The venue, the food, the drinks, the prices. Absolutely fantastic experience all topped off with fantastic service from the beautiful Nurita and the good looking Lukeny. Thanks guys. This is my new go to for brunch when I am in town. See you very soon

I will not go here again. It’s an “only if every other place in NYC is closed” location. The burger was terrible, the cheese curds were cold, the turkey sandwich was not good, and the service was very slow.

Loved this retro diner in the heart of SOHO, NYC. Great menu. Vegan options. Perfect place to start Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed the best Huevos Rancheros I'm ever had! High praise for someone that travels to Arizona often. I enjoyed it so much I plan on copying the presentation at home!

Fabulous Sunday brunch at the counter of this perfectly designed diner...which is an understatement as it is more than just a 'diner'! The menu has all the usual items and so much more. Best of all, the staff is incredibly friendly and made the whole experience one that I can't wait to repeat!

This is a very nice slightly-upscale diner. Prices are what you’d expect, food is tasty, service is attentive. There’s a jukebox with a selection of stuff mainly from the 70s and 80s; booths have vinyl cushions and Formica tabletops; decor is decidedly vintage. Not the overwhelming menu of options you’d find in a lower-end grease pit, but enough variety to keep the whole family happy.

I had several meals at this chic Soho what I would call diner plus. The menu is an innovative take on diner classics. I had a turkey sandwich which was amazing on sourdough bread. My wife had a delicious chicken sandwich. It is hard to describe let me just say it satisfied both my urge for diner classics and my urge for delicious chic food. The staff went out of their way to provide excellent service. Breakfast was fantastic too and I can’t wait to go back

Service was excellent. The food was stellar. The atmosphere was intriguing and felt authentic. Very well done. I would recommend to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast in a unique setting.

My family and three friends, total party of 7 went for breakfast at the Soho Diner. We each tried a different breakfast menu item and the food was fabulous! The server was so kind and attentive . The diner ambience is very creative with a fun and festive vibe. What a nice addition to the Soho and Trebeca neighborhoods! A special aspect of the diner features a jukebox. As I looked around the dining crowd, I noticed young & adult diners were singing along to the song being played on the jukebox! What that tells me: this is a comfortable and great place to dine. The menu has a nice variety of selections. Something for everyone’s taste buds!

Don't miss this classic diner that has been elevated just enough. Great drinks, delicious food and comfortable old-school diner seating. I really enjoyed this late night find.

I love that they have an impossible burger option for us vegetarians. It can get busy at certain times but we've always had great service.

Food was very poor. Greasy Brick Chicken with indescribable sides, pasta was cold and was sent back. Other pasta dish was poor and hot and cold at the same time…..was a microwave used? We weren’t even impressed at all.

You find best places when you don't plan or expect something, a retro place, good food (cooked salmon with kinoa), quite place, good service, it was hot so we sitted inside but they also have a garden

Best Breakfast in SoHo! I was wowed by my first breakfast in NYC. An authentic American diner meets modern SoHo. Excellent food & very accommodating staff who found us a seat at the bar even though the restaurant was full. I will be back for sure!

Terrific service Ben at the Counter Bar made several terrific cocktails today along with suggestions for Bruch which on Saturday until 4 pm. Longer wait times for tables but you can take advantage of the spacious counter seats with ability to check out the restaurant and buzz of the diners. Music is upbeat and lively and adds to the dining experience. Highly recommend

The Soho Diner was overall a disappointment. We were staying at Soho Grand and thrilled to discover this diner as part of the hotel. What a fun, iconic place with a photobooth, we thought. The service was exceptional and the area very crowded on the weekend of our visit, so we continued to try & find something on the menu to enjoy. These are our takes: grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup, hamburger, turkey reuben, cheese cake, spinach farmers omelet were not good; the side salad and the sourdough toast (jam) that came with the omelet were ok. The fried eggs, bacon & hashbrowns were the best thing we ordered, but maybe consider the waffles & pancakes? We thought the coffee was excellent!! The diner was sold out of their cherry pie and apple pie when we arrived for a late night dessert, so I guess, coffee & a slice of pie should be the trick should we ever venture back. (October visit so photos share their Halloween decorations)

Large fluffy pancakes for breakfast giving an authentic American feel. Fun decor inside but Service was lacking and slow given there were only 3 tables occupied.

Terrible customer service. Waited 40 mins for a table, 40 mins for the food. Small range. Over prices. Bad options. Rude server. Misleading wait times. DO NOT COME HERE, ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

WORST meal I have ever had in my entire life. Words do not describe how horrific this place is. We are shocked such a nice hotel allows itself to be associated with such a clown show of an establishment. Highlights of our evening there: -incredibly rude wait staff -warm water in dirty cups -waiter dropped 1/4 of cheese curds appetizer on me as he is bring it out. No apology and he looked pissed when we gathered them on the edge of his table for him to take away -no dishes for appetizers -mosquitos flying around table and I killed one with a napkin. I asked the waiter if he could bring a new napkin because I just killed a mosquito in my original one, and he looked annoyed. Zero acknowledgment or apologies for a bug being all over our food -the music. Oh my god. If you are still reading this and for some reason considering dining in, bring ear plugs. It was BLASTING LOUD CIRCUS MUSIC. The GM yelled at the wait staff to skip one of the absurd songs they put on as they giggled in the back. -burger we had was disgusting and dry. Think burger you’d get for $3 at a Little League Game Snack stand. And imagine eating that with mosquitos (mixed in, not on the side), while you listen to the worst music of your entire life on max volume. Welcome to the Sobo Diner

Loved this modern diner, my friends had the wings and the burger and I tried the vegan pancakes which were amazing!

Been here before and came back. Will come back over and over. Live out of state and come to visit my son. Stay at Soho Grand and am so happy to be right next to the soho Diner. Great service no matter who it is. They remember us when we return. Aaron is the best part of the experience in the diner. He makes you feel special and can tell he does it all day long! The food is fantastic and they have a huge menu. To top it off they have the BEST old fashioned. Hands down. No matter who makes it. Perfect each time. No matter what time of the day I will always order it. Thank you for making my wife’s and my visits the best. Can’t wait to come back!

Fine dining extablishment disguised as a diner lol. But seriously, I appreciate the way they have fancified diner food, it's fun and unique and has a great atmosphere.

If you order scrambled eggs here, be prepared for a surprise: what you’ll get is a flat, compact disk of eggs — more like an omelet . When I pointed out that these were not scrambled eggs, the staff insisted they were, adding that “this is how we make them at home.” I understand every restaurant can have its own style, but it would be fair to mention it on the menu, since anyone familiar with traditional scrambled eggs (soft, creamy, and barely set) would expect something completely different. In short: if you’re looking for real scrambled eggs, this is not the place and waiter seemed more interested in proving me wrong than listening to the customer.

Firstly I must qualify - I travel a lot internationally and lived in NYC many years ago for a 6 months. This review is my personal opinion albeit with a little professionalism attached. The over rating for this diner is 4* - whilst I have eaten only breakfast it is not justifiable rating The location / ambience / decor great . It has the feel of a good old fashioned diner - music selection playing was well selected and adds to the atmosphere which is good. But these are the basic ingredients to establish a memorable atmosphere .. it’s more about the staff and particularly the food that wants you going back for more. So ok start .. unfortunately that’s where it stops .. the reception desk unmanned and the welcome not inviting ..the place has all the ingredients to create a buzz as you enter - a big NYC “hey man - Welcome to SD” doesn’t feature .. it’s more like here’s the menu do you want to sit there or there .. whatever !!! In looking at the menu and I stress I only had breakfast - it’s very limited for a diner .. I order ordered juice / coffee / bacon eggs / home granola .. let’s start with the best bit / gronola was good .. well presented / good portion / well flavoured and toasted granola / a side of honey would have added to it but that’s just my personal preference . Coffee was fine .. it’s not a specialist coffee house so diner coffee is diner coffee .. was fresh / light and hot .. The main event was disappointing - I ordered scrambled Eggs - (it certainly was not scrambled and resembled more an omelette with melted Butter !! I think on top . . Bacon was horrendous .. overly cooked warm / 50% fat .. sourdough toast was slightly warm at best and burnt around the edges .. thrown together on the plate Everything arrived at the one time and present with “here you go “ .. I had to ask for coffee ask for milk ask for warm toast .. Altogether sad .. this place has all the ingredients aesthetically to be great .. but severally lacks substance .. In conclusion this diner is not one I would visit again. There are plenty more diners in NYC - one of my favourite cities in the world , which might not come up to standards in terms of the decor but boy they win hands down on quality of Food / portion of food / pricing / service and atmosphere .. so look elsewhere if looking for a real NYC American diner ..

A must go if you want good quality of ingredients! We had Huevos Rancheros and Waffle and it was delicious! Decor and colors of this spot are like a Wes Anderson movie.

Classic retro diner feel, but not a pastiche, a good quality environment. Good menu and good service. Tables a bit small, clash of elbows going on. Went for dinner at 7pm and only 2 other diners, so the place lacked atmosphere, but overall a good experience.

Super nice diner experience. Stylish interior. And the best pancacked ever! Lots of Coffee. The staff was nice too So if y need breakfast in NY♥️

The service here was above & beyond. The food was very good and if you like a Bloody Mary they hand craft their mix, it’s got a kick so I had half of their mix & have straight tomato juice to calm the heat down, it was delicious and they had no problem accommodating my request. We will definitely go again!

It is not just about delicious food. The place is awesome very very stilish a real ‘50/60 diners open for breakfast and until late. Try the home made granola and the avocado toast and the classics eggs and bacon. But what made me do this review is how professionally was the manager (in duty in the morning of the 5th Sept 2022 Labour day). Our orders were pretty late (25/30min) and we were late for an event when we asked (twice) she took care of it and at the end took the order on the diner and made it free for us. We were not even aggressive just worried and she really treated us saving our breakfast that was of course in a rush but of things happen (as it can be) this is the way to deal with them.! To be tried in any event for the vibe and the delicious food

I was in Manhattan with my 21 year old vegan daughter. We’re Chicagoans and also have done west coast travel and we truly haven’t found a better vegan-friendly restaurant anywhere.

I'm sorry to give 0 star, we waited 2 h to eat 1 sandwich, I had asked for blood and I arrived overcooked, also they begged me on the bill , paying twice the tip. Thank you.

We stayed at the Soho Grand and didn't know how delicious this diner is! Thankfully we decided to visit after a late night on Broadway and it was so delicious we went back for more. The food is delicious and it equally matched by the 'authentic' experience of an old school diner. I opted for the vegan burger and it was amazing! They even have 2 happy hours, so there is always something delicious to eat and great drinks as well. Highly recommended!

This place is the equivalent of a butterface person. It’s a gorge outside seating area and nice staff but it ends there. Eggs were not hot and runnier than I would have expected given that I told the server “well done / not runny”. Tasteless hunk of a hash brown. I’d expect this at a diner by the road in Jersey some place, but at least then the prices would be half this! Far better brunch food at the same price at numerous locations in the area.
Step back in time
Great experience at this new soho diner. The furnishings are perfect for an old school diner. When we arrived, the host suggested we sit at the counter as it’s his favourite spot. I was totally skeptical until I saw the awesome full back diner chairs. Totally comfortable and great to swing around to see the whole place. BreakfAst was delicious. Just wish we could try more items. Loved the bathroom sign “humans”
